He started to walk away, and she turned the opposite way. He understood this, why would she want to talk to him at all. Thats fair enough, he always did this, people couldn't stand him, he was too, well, he breached their privacy a bit to much. Course, he never used his ability to do bad, but what he was doing wasn't exactly good either.
Suddenly, he was shocked, as he heard her call for him to wait. He didn't understand why she would, it would be so much easier just to walk away from him.
"Yes?" He asked, curiously, stopping and turning to face her.

She was stuck, he had turned around and was expecting her to say something. A reason why she had called for him. But even as he turned, she had nothing to say to him, instead she frantically searched her mind for something to say, while they stood at a draw-down. "Why did you want to know what was wrong wid me?" she asked, referring to earlier when she was upset. She didn't really want to talk about it, just more curious about him being so compassionate toward her. It seemed to her, that there wasn't many people in and around her world that was actually worried about her - and it just came to as a surprise that a stranger, as the boy was, wanted to somehow help.
So, she stood, looking at him with an expectancy for his answer, her arms folded across her chest. The day was turning into something she hadn't expected at all when she got up hours before. She was almost interested to know how this would end. "lo siento...*" she said with as an after thought, surely the pain that she caused him was horrible and it would effect eveyone different. "... about before?" she finished looking down at her feet, ashamed of her actions.
Translated: "I'm sorry"

She asked him why he offered to help. He thought about this in a variety of ways, but it all came down to one single point. He wanted to be a good person, he was a good person. He wanted to help her out.
"I, i didn't like seeing you sad. I really, genuinely wanted to help you." He looked at her, and she... said something, in Spanish. He recognised it, of the little Spanish he knew.
"Maya, I'm sorry too." He walked over to her, she was sad, once again. He didn't know if it was appropriate to pull her into a hug or not, just to make her feel better. But, hell, he didn't know if she even wanted him to.

There was a sincerity in his voice which Maya had heard before in the voice of Sylar and Mohinder, and instantly knew that this was a dangerous territory she was standing in. She had been burned too many times to forget her place in the world. She looked up as he explained himself, and even with the timid look on his face she knew deep down that he wasn't a bad person, but the thought of him watching her, and for goodness how long, she couldn't shake that uneasiness.
She took a step back when he had walked closer to her, appologizing. She hadn't forgotten what he done to her, but she wasn't as angry as she was. Maya, surprisingly, was a soul who forgave quickly. A trait which she learned from her brother. "How long have you been following me?" she asked, turning her head slightly and peering at him.

"Following you, or studying you?" He asked her. Their was a difference in the words she was speaking. He thought about this, and decided to explain both. "I was hired, a little under a week ago, i was investigating and looking into your case. This was the first night that I was following you. I instantly felt bad about it when I saw you crying."
He looked at her. Why was he telling her this, what was it about this girl that made him tell her everything. Why, he had never done this before. "I got a very generous offer to get information on you. Who did you tick off?" He smiled.

Again, Maya listened to him. What he was saying, she wasn't sure if she wanted to believe it. Who would pay him to follow and 'study' her. Would that mean, he knows more about her than she would realize? Gulping nervously at the thought that her private life wasn't nearly as private as she had thought it was, she nibbled on her bottom lip and considered a reply back to him. Brushing some strands of flyaway hair behind her ear, she raised her eyes and looked directly at him when he asked who she annoy for someone to pay to follow her and take notes.
"I do not know?" she replied honestly, lowering her head back down as she felt an overwhelming feeling of dread flush through her body. Looking around for a bench, she took a few steps and sat down at the nearest park bench she could find. She calmed her trembling hands with some slow silent deep breaths. First off it was Sylar who started her downward spiral in this new world, then Mohinder taking her in and almost using her until he partnered up with Sylar and now there was someone else that she had upset enough to have paid information about her.
"Maldita sea!*" she exclaimed, her voice muffled as her hands covered her face. She didn't know what else to do, at wits-end, some might say.
*Translates - "Damn it"

When Maya explained the first bit, she seriously started shaking, he didn't know what to do, so he did what he thought would help, he stepped forward and pulled her into a hug. He didn't know if she would slap him, or even kick him in the nuts, but he hated to see her sad, it was what caused all this in the first place.
He felt the dread in her, and really tried to calm her down. "Maya, If you want, I can find out, who it was, who hired me. And Why?" He asked her, perhaps this would help her calm down a bit.
