Carla had been into town doing some baby shopping, ever since the eight week scan a few days ago and finding out she and Bruce were expecting twins she was desperate to make sure they were plenty stocked up for when the time arrived. Plenty clothes, plenty toys, nappies, bath accessories, anything she could think of. Anything bigger she and Bruce would be able to buy later together.
Sam might not be in her life much anymore, but he must have found out about the wedding and the pregnancy, because he had sent her an e-mail telling her he had deposited five thousand dollars into her bank account so she could buy a belated wedding gift and plenty of items for the babies. Carla didn't know where she would have found the money from otherwise.
All the heavy shopping however had made her thirsty and as she walked past Starbucks she couldn't resist the smell of a hot chocolate with marshmallows. She had taken a craving for the drink, and so the minute she went into the shop, the assistant already knew what she was after and had it on the counter within a matter of minutes. She smiled and thanked him before paying and taking herself off to a table and quietly sipping it while sifting through a baby name book. Not knowing what the sex of their babies where yet, she was looking at girl names and boy names.
"Hmm, think I like Stephen" she said to nobody in particular.

Stephen sat in the Starbucks, he was bored of staying at the school and decided to go out for a bit, using another students ability to teleport to California. He needed time to think, and he had trouble doing so in an unfamiliar dorm room full of kids that stared at him because his ability. At least out in public he wasn't stared at.
Stephen heard his name called, "What?" he said turning toward the speaker.
Stephen wondered why anyone would want to talk to him? He didn't know anyone in California so this seemed a little strange to him. Stephen tried to remember if he knew about any other abilities he might have mimicked, unfortunately, he didn't so if this person meant him harm he would just have to teleport away.

Carla hadn't realised she had shouted out the name quite as loud as she had until she heard somebody shout 'what'. She looked around and saw a guy who looked around the same age as herself if not maybe slightly younger. She had to guess his name was Stephen. She blushed ever so slightly before speaking.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I think that might have been me, going through a baby name book, didn't realise I'd said out loud I liked the name Stephen" she said with a smile.
As she took a closer look at him she thought there was something similar about him, but she couldn't quite place her finger on it. But there was definitely something. She shook her head, it must have been her imagination.
"Sorry if I startled you" she added as she decided that maybe looking through baby names in a coffee shop wasn't the best idea, as she sheepishly put it bag into one of the many carrier bags surrounding her.

Stephen looked at the person and felt a strange sense of recognition. Like he had met her before. She explained that she had been looking through baby names and had liked the name Stephen. Stephen thought it was strange that the woman looked familiar. He tried to remember where he might of met her when all of the sudden a memory he hadn't had before entered his head. He fell to the floor as it entered his head.
Stephen didn't know what was going on. Two people just busted the door open and pointed guns at him. It must have to do with his ability, mom and dad said that there were people that tried to kill people with abilities like his.
"Hello Stephen, You probably don't know what I'm saying but your about to die. People as powerful as you have caused the world to much trouble in this world and we're gonna stop it, starting with you." said one of them.
Stephen screamed as he thrusted his hand up, sending a blast of telekinesis at them. One of the men hit a table and it broke with a crash. Stephen heard noises behind him and knew his parents were coming. One of the men got up and pointed the gun at him again. Stephen yelled as he teleported away, not before seeing his mother.
Stephen woke up in an alley, with no memory. He was confused at where he was, and who he was. Stephen sat in the alley, trying to remember something, anything.
Stephen awoke to see he was on the floor, What the heck, as he got up. He looked up at the woman and realized something, she looked like the woman his memory called mother, only a bit younger.
Who am I, he thought.

Carla continued to watch him, wondering why he seemed so familiar to her. He was like a younger Bruce, but she knew that Bruce only had one brother and that was James his twin. He never had a younger brother. Or did he? How did Bruce and James know if their mother had another younger boy after all they lost contact with their mother quite some time ago if she remembered correctly.
However when she had apologised for startling him, the guy fell to the floor, which shocked Carla and made her jump up in fright and go to him lying on the floor. When he woke up a bit later, Carla helped him up off the floor.
"Hey, are you alright? I'm guessing your name is Stephen" she said softly, giving him a warm smile. After she stood up straight however, Carla lost her balance and fell against the table she had been sitting at which knocked her hot chocolate over, without even thinking, she used her telekinesis ability to straighten it back up and then she quickly looked at the guy again and bit on her bottom lip not sure what to say or do now other than introduce herself. "Carla, Carla Adams" she said as she held her hand out to him with a smile.

Stephen watched as the woman fell over and knocked her cup over, but somehow it straightened back up. Stephen remebered him using something similiar in the memory. This person kept seeming more and more like the woman in his memory, if it was really a memory, how could he be younger and her older? It didn't make sense to him. The next thing she said really freaked him out, her name was Carla Adams.
Stephen stared at her as he shook her hand, "I'm Stephen, Stephen Adams."
His life was getting really weird. First he thought he could produce fire, then he found out he could mimic others abilities, and now he has a memory of a person he thought he just met.

Carla was smiling when she introduced herself, but when the guy gave his name, which wasn't too much of a surprise at the start, when he said Stephen, but when he said Adams, Carla's jaw almost dropped open. There was something freakishly weird going on here she thought. She had already thought the guy looked familiar and looking like a slightly younger Bruce and now his name was Stephen Adams. Stephen, the name she had just said moments before she liked the sound of.
Then Carla couldn't help it. "Do I know you? Or should I know you?" she began asking, as she put her hand up to her head and scratched the back of it messing her hair slightly. "Because I feel like I should know you" she added, as she sat back down again and drank some more of her hot chocolate.
It was weird, and if it was going to continue getting weirder, Carla wasn't sure how much she'd be able to cope with on her own, she was beginning to feel shaky. "Sorry for sitting down" she began, "You're welcome to join me, it's just that I'm pregnant with twins, so I get a little dizzy and shaky now and then" she explained, as she beckoned to the seat opposite her for him to hopefully sit down, as she continued to stare at him, trying to figure out how she was certain she knew him.

Stephen sat down next to Carla, "I honestly don't know if you should know me. When I fell unconsious I saw something, a memory or something, there were to guys who wanted to kill me, I used an ability, similar to what you just did with your cup, and threw them both against a wall. I heard footsteps and part of the memory said it was my parents coming. A woman walked into the room and she looked like a slightly older version of you. The men were about to shoot me when all of the sudden I was in an alley. I'm not sure but I think I went back in time."
Stephen decided that he had gone back in time. That was the only explanation of what happened. He knew that his dad Kirk wasn't his real father, he had read his mind when he was about to leave for the school. Also he didn't have any memory of the first five years of his life.
"Another reason I think that woman was you is that I mimic abilities for a short time, and as I said, I used an ability similar to yours.

Carla listened carefully as Stephen spoke of his memory, of course Carla knew nothing of his memory, why would she if she didn't know him. When he finished his statement saying he thought he might have went back in time Carla couldn't rule it out. She knew of time space continuum, chances were he had mimicked that power and then of course couldn't get himself back to where he had come from. It did sound plausible, and it would explain why he reminded her of Bruce so much, and the fact his name was Stephen Adams, he must be her and Bruce's son. Which meant that she and Bruce must have had another child after the twins. Or he was one of the twins and they were boys, seeing as she didn't know what the sex were of her babies yet.
"There seems to be too many coincidences for it not to be true" Carla said, when he said that he thought she was his mom from the memory. "And the more I've spoken to you and looked at you, the more you remind me of my husband Bruce, yeah we're married already" Carla said blushing slightly.
Then there was the added information of the fact he said he had used an ability like hers. "Well can you remember if you had twin siblings at all? Or would that have to be another memory?" Carla found herself asking. "But it sounds like you might be my son, which is sort of weird, seeing as right now I'm only maybe a year older or something" Carla said with a confused expression.

"I only remember that one instance. I haven't been able to remember the first five years of my life so I think that was when I teleprted, because I also remember not knowing were I was, or who I was. The memory is a bit sketchy after that but I remember a person telling me I belonged to this other family and, seeing that I didn't remember anything I believed the person." Stephen said.
Stephen wondered what else had happened in those forgotten memories. It felt strange not knowing his own past, or his past in the future. It was hard for him to understand it.
"I guess you are my mother then, and I guess I'll either have two older siblings or one sibling or something like that. It's so weird finding out I'm from the future." he said.

Once again Carla listened to Stephen talk about what happened, it seemed so sad. And if he was her son, it seemed a shame for him to be stuck in the present and actually be older than his future self would be. Thinking about it actually made Carla's head hurt a little. "Maybe you need to go back to the past to actually find out more" Carla said softly.
But if he was her son, she was sitting opposite him, talking to him, and desperately wanted to throw her arms around him and pull him into a comforting hug. But how would that look? He'd probably freak and run a mile anyway.
"I can only imagine how weird it must be for you, if you are from the future and you're definitely my son" Carla said, blushing again slightly, and grinning at all the same time. Because it was like some sort of miracle. "So yeah, I guess I either have twin boys or we have another baby who happens to be a boy" Carla explained, wishing there was some way of proving that he was definitely her child. Other than getting a DNA test carried out, and then there would be the added confusion from the doctors, looking on and thinking, yeah he's your son, but how is that possible, you're only a year or two older than him.
She shook her head at the thought, no, that wouldn't work.

"Looks like I will have to go to the past, but I'll have to find a person who can travel through time, then I'll only have a day to find the person before I lose the ability and become stuck in that time." Stephen said.
Stephen couldn't believe how his life was turning out. Not only was he a "special" but now he was a time misfit as well. Stephen then began to wonder what he would do if he got his memories back, would he stay or go back to the future? Stephen would just have to decide once his memories were back, then he would at least know a bit about what the future was like.
"Ya, this is pretty weird for me, being from the future and not knowing if I belong there or here." Stephen said, his mind still debating whether to go to the future or stay here even though hr had decided to wait on that.

As Stephen spoke about finding somebody with the ability to go back in time Carla cast her mind back to hearing of somebody who had went back in time with a guy who had the supercharge ability, so that could have worked for Stephen, if he wanted to go back to the past to find out more information. She tried to remember who it was, she had heard somebody speak about it.
Then she remembered, it was during school she'd overheard Niki talk to one of the other teachers about it. Her next door neighbour Daphne had managed to go back to the past with her super speed ability and this guys supercharge ability. A smile spread across her face.
"You know, you might not have to mimic someone's power to get back in time" Carla said grinning. Then she took in a breath before going on with her explanation.
"During school one day I heard Niki talk about her neighbour Daphne who has superhuman speed, and when this guy with supercharge touched her, they travelled back in time. It would mean you could go back with them, and return with them, so you wouldn't have to worry about being stuck" Carla said running off a rambling explanation and hoping he understood what she was talking about.
Carla absentmindedly reached her hand out and touched his arm when he spoke about it being weird not knowing whether he belonged here or the future. "Listen to your heart, it's probably got the best answer" Carla said as she then touched her heart and smiled at him.

Stephen listened as Carla talked about how she heard at school that two people went back in time and how they might be able to take him back in time. Stephen thought this was a good plan seeing that he could then stay for a few days. He also wondered if the school she was talking about was the same as the one he went to, Stephen didn't think there were many that taught specials how to use their powers.
"That sounds like a good plan, I'll consider it, though I wonder what would happen if the Supercharge thing was used on me." he said to her, "Also, what school would you be talking about? I thin that might be the school I'm going to." Stephen said, becoming lost in thought again so he didn't notice Carla's hand touching his arm.

He seemed to go quiet on her for a little while, she figured he was thinking over what she had told him about Daphne and the guy with the supercharge ability. She thought it would be his best option so he wouldn't get stuck in the past.
Carla shrugged slightly, "Well all the Supercharge does is enhance a person's ability, so I guess Supercharge would make you mimic more people's power at once or something" she suggested, not quite sure herself. She didn't quite know why the Supercharge ability made a superhuman speed person travel back in time, it was obviously something to do with physics, not Carla's strong point.
He then asked what school it was she went to. "Oh, I don't go very often since I got married and became pregnant, but it's Super Hero High" she said and then sort of laughed, because the sound of the school was rather ridiculous even if it was sort of cute at the same time.
