Could she bring herself to tell him? Fine. She would. But at dinner. There were too many people around now, and she didn't necessarily want all her colleagues knowing about her personal thoughts. Megan sighed when he mentioned age, but she decided not to comment on it yet. She was keeping quiet until they were some place less crowded. The idea of everyone knowing her business wasn't the slightest bit appealing. Most of her fellow workers thought she was weird anyway; she didn't seem to socialise very well with many people. Girls especially. Most of them her own age or a tad bit older, they were bitches. Megan wasn't. She didn't care about the latest fashion or constantly being hit on by men. There was one woman... Tiffany; blonde hair, big blue eyes, skinny figure, only wore skimpy outfits, complete bitch. Meg had been bullied by her from day one. When asked about it, she kept her mouth shut, not wanting to cause trouble.
Megan wondered whether Brendan had come across her. She usually worked the entertainment hall, being one of the showgirls. But sometimes she used to be on the tables beside Megan. Tiffany was much more beautiful than Meg, probably more Brendan's age too. Paranoia again. With her free hand, Meg rubbed the back of her neck, starting to feel pains shooting up. Then her senses suddenly heightened, she could smell that perfume. The strong, overpowered perfume Tiffany wore. She could be in the next room or upstairs in the staff quarters. Her heightened sense of smell was doing rather well lately, as was her agility and flexibility. A small smile crept on her face for a moment, before quickly fading as she waited for Brendan to reply about the whole 'most beautiful man she had ever met' statement. That's if he understood it. And to her surprise, he did. She gazed up at him and managed to see the faint crimson colour creeping into his cheeks. Guess he hadn't had a compliment like that in a while. She couldn't see why. He obviously was an amazing guy, and so much more than just a journalist.
"See ya blushing there a bit handsome." Meg poked her tongue out further this time. The light capturing her piercing as she did. She hadn't quite caught on whether he had noticed her piercings; she had her ears pierced multiple times, her tongue and her belly button. She also had a faint tattoo on her left wrist, written in elven. But that was a secret what it said; hardly anyone knew. It had been her right wrist she had lifted to his face earlier on when she let him smell her 'scent'.
"I'm glad I met you too." She replied, thinking English best this time. Brendan squeezed her hand back, making the butterflies come back. Giggling for no reason this time, she could feel her insides turn. He might actually like her... The most gorgeous man she had ever laid eyes on might actually like her. She suddenly felt flustered, needing to leave the stuffy hotel more than ever. As they walked through the hotel, still hand in hand, Megan couldn't help but feel part of an actual, real couple. Something she hadn't experienced before. Brendan held the door open, as she went to step through the blonde bitch barged her out of the way. "Watch where you're going Howler." Meg's eyes flinched. They were suddenly alert, flashing with anger. "I didn't see you..." Tiffany rolled her eyes, suddenly looking at the handsome male holding onto Meg's hand.
Megan looked between them. Did they recognise each other? Had they met before? She gulped, feeling a big solid lump in her throat. Tiffany looked between them, then at their hands connected. "Surely you can't be with her?" She said, glaring at Megan who turned her head away. "You should look at me when I talk to you Meg, I mean, you haven't even introduced your friend here..." Tiffany batted her eyelids at Brendan. Meg took a deep breath and glared at Tiffany with fierce brown eyes. "Maybe he's not interested Tiffany, some men do have taste you know." The blonde let out a ridiculous laugh, "What you? Don't be daft." Meg didn't cry a lot. Hell she had been through enough to teach herself not to cry. But she felt so embarrassed right that second that she just wanted to break down in tears.

Brendan was pretty sure that there was something bothering Megan, but he was also clever and kind enough to realise that what ever was on her mind she might not necessarily want to air it in such a busy place as the casino. So Brendan was not going to push the issue with her here and now any further, but if there was something bothering her, he felt like he wanted to know. If he knew, he might be able to help the situation, make her feel better somehow.
Of course Megan had caught him blushing a little. He still couldn't believe that he had blushed. But she had truly said the most wonderful and sweetest thing to him ever, and yes it had made him blush. He couldn't deny it. She was teasing him and stuck her tongue out and this time he was quick to notice the piercing in her tongue. He liked that, he found that quite a turn on, and that was when he actually took her in more and realised she had quite a few piercings. But he thought it just added to her natural beauty and he loved it.
Laughing slightly, he playfully stuck his tongue out at her too, obviously not a man of his age here, "I guess ya just did Sweet Cheeks" he said, and then decided he had to remark on the piercing.
"See ya got a tongue piercing there sweetheart" he began, as he smiled more deeply, making those eyes sparkle and those dimples show more then ever. He would rather like to have a play around with that piercing, but he wasn't about to make a show of her in public over it, instead he just winked at her, "Find tha' rather sexy" he said as he tilted his head to the side slightly.
Brendan smiled when Megan said she was glad she had met him too, so his Italian was holding up quite well he was thankful to hear. "Pleased to hear it Sweet Cheeks" he said for no other reason than she would know he was acknowledging what she had said to him.
They were almost out the door when a blonde hair girl barged into Megan and began shouting at her, and insulting her. Brendan watched on in anger at the confrontation, not sure to jump in right away, after all Megan had said earlier she could take care of herself, but Brendan still didn't think she should have to when he was around and could take care of her. As the girl got more and more out of hand in Brendan's opinion, he couldn't hold back any longer.
"Firstly Barbie" he began as his smile disappeared and his eyes grew dark, "Her name ain't Howler, it's Megan and ya blatantly barged into her" he said in an angry voice, his hand still in Megan's own smaller one, he squeezed it all the more, so she would know he wasn't about to cut and run over this.
"Oh I can be with her, and I am with her Barbie" he began, as he drew closer to her and stuck his finger in her chest, "And ya know what Barbie? Somebody like ya don' impress somebody like me, yer all knockers and no brain, tha' ain't ma type" he ranted, still continually pointing into her chest, "I like a woman with class, and ya see Megan here, she's got more class than ya'd ever have, so why don' ya do us both a favour and get out of our faces already" he finished as he pushed her slightly, not enough to knock her over, but just to get her out of their face. He turned to look at Megan, he wasn't sure, but she looked like she was about to break. If that bitch made his girl cry, she might just pay fer it he thought to himself.
Then he squeezed Megan's hand again and finally lead her out the Casino door, and when they were outside, he didn't even give it another thought, he wrapped his arms completely around her, pulling her to his chest and soothed her hair with his hand and bent down to her ear and whispered into "It's alright Sweet Cheeks, I wont let anybody hurt ya like that ever."

Megan's 'sweet cheeks' turned a blushing pink colour. He liked the tongue piercing eh? "Oh you do do you?" She said swinging his hand slightly. "Well I got another one, except my ears... somewhere further south," She burst out laughing, waiting for some sort of reaction other than the slightly stunned look on his face. "Don't worry dimples, it's nothing too shocking." Her eyes drifted back to the casino door.
Listening to Tiffany slag her off, was literally putting her on the brink of tears. Just as she was about to however, Brendan spoke up. She looked up at him in awe, feeling so wanted and protected. Even though he was no longer smiling, and his eyes were dark, Megan felt so... loved. She felt him squeeze her little hand tight in his, not so much that it would hurt, but it was enough to say 'let me handle this', even though Tiff was a girl. He had changed from the sudden smoothie he had been all evening, to a now rougher diamond. Although it didn't bother her, it intrigued her.
Megan watched him get angrier and angrier. He poked Tiff hard in her chest. Meg got the wrong impression, only for a moment before Brendan told her he wasn't interested in 'knockers' so to speak. But wait, what he said before. He was with her? In what way? Meg suddenly went blank, her head going dizzy slightly. She could hear him continuing to defend her, but it wasn't clear. Everything was spinning now. And the tears came back to her eyes.
Brendan squeezed her hand once more and pulled her outside where the tears finally started to fall. Before she knew it, she was snuggling into his chest, crying softly into his open shirt and skin. She felt his hand smooth out her hair, she smiled, still crying as she did. He wouldn't let anyone hurt her? But he could never be around all the time, he never would be. How could he? A New York journalist who travelled up and down the country all year. He could have a girl in every state for all she knew, but right now, she didn't care.
"Thank you." It was such a soft whisper, one she could barely hear herself. Her arms wrapped tighter around his back, tugging at his shirt slightly. A few drops of rain began to fall on top of her head, she looked up, having the raindrops fall on her face, merging with her tears. "I wish I could fly," She said, nestling her head back into his chest. "Then I could free the bird in me."

Brendan noticed the slight colour of pink to Megan's cheeks when he said he liked the tongue piercing and found it sexy, it made Brendan smile all the more. When Megan then swung his hand slightly, Brendan felt as if he was just a teenager again. "Yeah I do sweetheart" he said with a grin, he really couldn't wait to kiss her properly, and play around with that piercing with his tongue, nothing more sensual than kissing a woman with a tongue piercing Brendan thought. Megan then went on to say she had another piercing other than her ears further south. Brendan couldn't help but look at her with a raised eyebrow, and a mischievous twinkle in his eye as he began to wonder just how far down south she was referring to. He was about to ask, when she continued speaking telling him it was nothing too shocking. "Well, I was just goin' to ask how far south ya talkin' 'bout, but now ya added that extra bit, I think I'm safe to go with a belly piercin' instead" he replied, as his eyes continued to twinkle in a mischievous way. That was something else he'd sure love to have a proper look at. For all he knew he could see it right now, but he wasn't about to start staring and look like some sort of porno king. After Brendan had began to shout at Barbie, Megan had remained quiet through it all. Brendan had continued to squeeze her hand gently through out so she would know he was there for her. He was really annoyed at the blonde bitch. Of course when he pulled Megan outside, she did begin to cry, which really upset Brendan. He hugged and soothed her and allowed her to hug him back, and after a few moments of doing so, he gently pulled her off his chest so he could examine her face, as his eyes darted from left to right, with some sort of sadness but the sparkle still held in them. He slowly brought his arms from around her back, up her arms and toward her face, holding it in his hands, and then gently used his thumbs to wipe away the tears. "I'm really sorry ya had to go through that sweetheart, but I promise ya, I'm gonna do everythin' I can to be here for ya as much as possible, I don' care if it takes all my pay cheque to come here every other day, I'll do it" he said, as he then pulled her toward him and hugged her again. When she said thank you softly, he just hugged her even closer to his chest, "Yer welcome sweetheart" he said softly, allowing her to once again hug him tightly. She then said she wished she could fly to free the bird in her. Brendan thought it was a sweet thing to say, he gently rubbed her back in circular motions with his hand. "Well that'd be a pretty sight to see fer sure" he said, noticing the rain getting heavier. Not wanting to use his power right at this moment, until he was sure Megan wouldn't be freaked, he said instead, "Come on, ya'll catch yer death if we don' get inside" he said, as he gently broke away from the hug again and gently pulled her along to the La Dolce Vita restaurant, which they reached in just under ten minutes. *** Two Hours Later*** Dinner was now over with, and Brendan stood up, looked at the time, it was still quite early, around eight in the evening. "Night's still quite young Sweet Cheeks" he began, and then not sure how to ask, but desperate to spend more time with this beauty he had seemingly fell for at first sight, "so am just wonderin' if ya wanted to come back to the hotel with me fer a few drinks from the mini bar?" he finally managed to get out, as the dimples on his face showed he was still smiling, even though he was worried about her response.

The gentle feel on Brendan's hands on her face, made her close her eyes. She didn't want them to open, in fear of it all being a dream. Megan had never actually been told by someone that they'll look after her, protect her. He'd come every other day, just for her? They'd barely known each other a couple of hours. Was this love she was feeling? Because the warmth that suddenly built up inside her, was like no other she ever felt before. Brendan pulled her towards him once more, she happily snuggled into his chest, not caring about the sudden rain falling on their heads. Never did she expect was all this emotion that had suddenly built up inside her to suddenly be unleashed in front of the man she had fallen for. Crying was something Meg usually done in private. Having a fear of people in general, and the way she was judged, you couldn't really blame her. Her eyes drifted up to him. She couldn't see his face, as his chin was resting atop of her head. Slowly, Megan pulled away from him, listening to the rain fall. Her hearing was amazing at the moment; she could hear everything she wanted too in context. As the rain drenched her hair, she shook it as if an animal. She laughed. "I'd love to fly." She said, grabbing her bag and placing it over her head. She was wearing a white top, and it was not chucking it down. Really not a great idea. They quickly went to the restaurant, not wanting to stay in the rain much longer. ** Two Hours Later** Megan happily patted her stomach, watching Brendan stand up and look at the clock on the wall. She looked up at him, noticing the dim lit restaurant still managing to capture the sparkle of his eyes. The night was still young, as he said. And Megan wasn't working tomorrow, so that was an added bonus. He then dropped the question, the one she could see him thinking about over dinner. "I'd love too." She said almost immediately, not wanting him to wait for a response. Megan pushed her chair out elegantly, standing up and smiling at the waiter as he passed. She followed behind him, watching Brendan still. He wasn't looking directly at her, but towards the doorway. Megan pushed her body up against him, shivering slightly. She didn't have a jacket and it had just stopped raining, not to mention it was now breezy outside. "Let's go." She said, curling her little hand into his. She didn't want to let go, not now, not ever. As they began the walk back to the hotel, Meg noticed it was awfully quiet between the two of them. She couldn't help but wonder what was on his mind. He was a difficult person to read, which just intrigued her more about him. Usually people were fairly easy to read if you just met them. But not him, he was mysterious. "Whatcha thinking about dimples?" She asked, making sure her hair was still tucked behind her ears. It was still wet, making her look like she had just been swimming. Again she started swinging their hands together, wanting him to feel comfortable. Megan looked down at the puddles below, and noticed his face. She couldn't see it from where she was standing, as he hung it to the side slightly. But now she could see the sudden sorrow in his eyes. The dimples were now hidden, they were gone. She bit down on her lip, now worried she had done something wrong. Or if he was upset about something... "Brendan?" She stopped walking, still clinging onto his hand. "What's wrong?"

Brendan grinned when he heard Megan say she'd love to fly, it would be pretty amazing to fly he thought to himself. In fact he'd love to fly himself. Pity really that his ability wasn't flight, he had seen and heard a few people with that ability, now that would kick ass he thought. "Well sweetheart, if I ever learn how to fly, I'd be sure to take ya on the ride with me" he said with a wink as he watched her put her bag on top of her head when the rain got even more heavier. Looking at her, he really couldn't help himself but come away with the next line, "Well, well Sweet Cheeks" he began as he shook his head gently, and grinned, "And the winner of the wet t-shirt competition is MEGAN!" he exclaimed, shouting her name out, and then lifting her up into his arms and swinging her around before he put her back down on the ground again. He coughed a couple of times, looking somewhat a little shifty, "Uhm, sorry 'bout tha', don' know what came over me" he said, as he continued walking with her quickly to the restaurant. After dinner, which Brendan had enjoyed, and it wasn't just the food which made it a special dinner, it was the company. He had been staring at the door when Megan brushed up against him, she was very cold, but then he couldn't have expected anything else, she had no jacket with her. Brendan took off his black leather jacket and wrapped it across her shoulders. "Tha' ought to keep ya warm enough until we reach the hotel" he said, as she took his hand and beckoned him to go, which he did, giving her a bright smile. In just a few short hours, Brendan had fallen head over heels for this brunette. He had women in his life, but they never made him feel the way Megan made him feel. How he used to laugh at the idea of love at first sight, the irony of it, as he stood, walking and looking at the brunette beauty at his side, because he was sure in love with Megan. Then he began to wonder what his family would say, about the fact he had fallen in love with a girl who was younger than his own sister. They weren't a bad family, he was close to them, very close, but they always frowned upon age gap relationships, and since Megan was six years younger than his own sister, they were bound to say something about it. Then there was his ability. Alright it wasn't like those abilities which could get out of control, he didn't have to manipulate the weather, so his ability could go undetected for months. But what if one day they were at the beach and it suddenly began to rain and he wanted the sun to shine. What if Megan was attacked, and he wanted to use his power to scare the attacker? Because he could. Weather manipulation could be dangerous, he could cause lightning bolts to strike a person, he could cause hurricanes, tornadoes, he could quite literally sweep somebody off their feet with either of those. He hadn't realised just how deep in thought he had been, or how worried or sad his face had appeared until that sweet voice of Megan's broke into them. He wasn't sure what to say, "Nothin' Sweet Cheeks, am just fine" he said, lying slightly, as he turned to face her and gave her a bright smile, which was slightly faked, but hopefully it was enough to fool her. Obviously not. When she then stopped walking and asked him what was wrong. Ah shit he thought to himself, son of a bitch, he didn't want to explain it all, not out here. They were by this time only a minute away from the hotel. "Damn it Megan" he said softly, with a faint smile, "a woman who can see through tha' fake smile of mine, is quite a woman" he remarked, but then he already knew that about her anyway. "Not here sweetheart" he said, as he grabbed her hand a little more tightly and walked to the hotel. They were there in a few seconds. He went in, right to the lift and pressed the button for his floor. A couple of more minutes later, they were on the floor, of his hotel room, and his hand shook as he tried to slot the key card into the door to get it open. Damn it he thought to himself, he had never been nervous like this before. Once inside, he sat down on the bed, reached across for his guitar and began strumming on it slightly. He patted the bed beside him for Megan to come and sit down. "I've had a few things on ma mind, yer right, but I want to get something else off ma mind first" he said with a weak smile. He then began strumming a few notes as he began to sing a little song he had just completely made up since he'd met Megan. "Oh Megan, Oh Megan, Oh Megan Did ya just fall from heaven? I know I might appear a bit smooth But maybe if I make the right moves We won’t want to spend a moment apart Cause you truly captured my heart Oh Megan, Oh Megan, Oh Megan Did ya just fall from heaven?" He stopped playing, and slipped the guitar down onto the floor gently and then lay back on the bed with his hands behind his head. "It's kinda complicated sweetheart" he said, not sure what else to say after his little song.

Megan beamed when Brendan wrapped his worn leather jacket over her shoulders. It was massive for her, not that she cared. It was so warm and comfortable inside she couldn't help but love it. Although, part of her wanted to show off her wet top again, after Brendan's rather cheeky comments about it. When he lifted her up in his arms, Megan never felt so loved right then. It was perfect. He was perfect.
When she noticed him pondering off into deep thought, it was no surprise that she would worry. She had been led on before, by one guy in particular. He was different when they met, so wonderful and complimentary just like Brendan. But then he began to change, he drank day and night, he gambled, he became violent. Hence the diagonal scar on her left shoulder blade, done by him. He slashed her one night, calling her all the names under the sun. Beatings were just a part of everyday life back then, just a part of Meg's daily routine. Get up, get ready, go to work, have a drink, come home, get beaten. That's when she lost hope of love, thinking every man was the same, and that Brendan would be no different. But she felt things she never felt with any other man before, he was different, in every way possible. How could he be so perfect? Where was the secret hiding? What was the secret?
Of course he lied to her straight away, saying everything was fine. Even those irresistible dimples couldn't hide the fact he was thinking about something. She wished she knew what. When she saw through him, he immediately smiled. Obviously she knew him already, knowing he would lie about his well-being to her to not kill the mood. "I'm like that," She said, brushing her hair away from her face. "I can read people quite well." Brendan said he couldn't tell her here, which was completely understandable as they were quite public right now. And she hadn't wanted to talk to him about stuff in the casino, so they were both doing themselves a favour.
They were in the hotel in no longer than ten minutes. "Wow." Megan said looking around at the interior. It was so upper class, so different to what she was used too. Brendan gently pulled her along to the elevator doors. She stood clicking her heels together whilst chewing on the inside of her mouth. It was a nervous thing; she had a few of them, the main one was fiddling with her hair, which she had done all night. They stepped into the lift, appearing a few moments later on Brendan's floor. "Woo!" She shouted, jumping once to portray her excitement. Meg followed Brendan to his room, waiting outside patiently. She noticed him becoming more and more nervous. His hand was now shaking. Megan gulped quietly, wondering what on earth he had to be scared or nervous about. She hoped he wasn't like the rest of them, suddenly about to change once she had trusted him. He didn't.
Once they were in, Megan slipped her converse off and pulled his leather jacket off. She stood in the small front part, and folded Brendan's leather jacket over her arm. Her bare feet sunk into the soft, beige carpet. She looked down at her feet, seeing them still damp from the earlier downpour of rain. Her silver toe ring shined in the dim lit bedroom, as did her red nail polish. She smiled, walking further into the room to see Brendan holding a guitar on his lap. "Well well, I should of guessed. Sexy guys always play instruments." She grinned at him, walking over to sit next to him as he gestured. "Ok go for it." She replied, waiting to hear him suddenly burst into song.
Megan listened to him sing softly to her. Such an awesome little verse considering he had only met her a few hours ago. She grinned brightly, noting mentally the 'captured my heart' line in particular. Meg watched him suddenly become less enthusiastic, as he placed his guitar down and lay back on the bed. She turned her head, watching his chest move up and down, up and down. Although she was still undecided whether he was an actual threat or not, there was no point in denying that she had actually fallen in love with him. The first moment he spoke completely filled her with light.
"Complicated how?" She replied, still not laying down with him just yet. Her back was straight, and her hair fell gently over her face as she tapped her calf muscle in rhythm to a random tune in her head. But as she turned, and saw his Adam's apple go up and down as he swallowed, she just wanted to be there, listening to his heart beat. So, Meg stretched her legs out and shuffled back wards, making sure her shorts didn't become even shorter. Gently she rolled on her side, leaning her head into her palm which was relaxed into the pillows. Her other hand rested on his chest, slowly moving under the shirt to his actual skin. "Tell me, I'm seriously not one to judge." A sudden shiver went up her spine as she reminded herself of her ex. "I've done some crazy shit in my past, and I'm only twenty years old."
Finally Meg decided to lay down, still on her side. She rested her head a few inches away from his. Was he going to turn and face her? Or continue staring up at the ceiling. If he turned and faced her she'd have to fight so hard not to kiss him. Those amazing lips of his. Meg licked her lips just at the thought of it. Her hand still remained inside his shirt, it was clasped over his heart. She could just feel the beat; de dum... de dum... de dum. It actually went with her name; Megan... Megan... Megan... She smiled, wondering if her heart was doing the same.

Megan's smile didn't go unnoticed by Brendan when he put his jacket around her shoulders. He wasn't about to let his girl freeze now was he? He was a man, he could suck it up. She didn't comment on his cheeky remark about the wet t-shirt competition, nor the picking her up and swinging her around. But Brendan figured, that nothing needed to be said, the look and smile on her face said all there needed saying.
"Tha's certainly true sweetheart, ya definitely read people well" Brendan agreed, lowering his head so that his hair flopped over his face as he turned to the side to look at her, with his smile back on his face so his dimples were showing once more. He wasn't going to be able to hide anything from this one he realised.
As they were inside the hotel Brendan laughed slightly at the excitement of Megan as she said wow and woo at the decor of the hotel. Well he was in one of the most expensive hotels in Las Vegas, and not just because the work had paid for it, because he could afford to pay for it himself.
"It's a great place huh Sweet Cheeks?" he asked, as he looked around it himself again taking it all in. "Well worth the $500 a night I'm payin' fer it" he added with a wink and followed it through with a slight laugh.
Once they were inside the hotel room, Brendan couldn't help but notice when she began taking off her shoes, and his jacket, his eyes immediately went down to her feet, and noticed the pretty nails all coloured and the toe ring. He definitely liked the way she dressed and accessorised herself. "Pretty toe nails ya got there sweetheart and I like the ring, very sexy" he said as he winked at her again. He had been doing that a lot, but then it was easy to wink at Megan, she filled his heart with joy, that much was plain to see already. Brendan certainly had fallen deep.
"Oh, sexy guy am I now?" Brendan asked teasing her, as his head was bent down again and his hair flopped over his eyes once more. He just smiled at her, showing off those trademark dimples of his again. She told him to go for it, and so he did, he sang his little spontaneous song, and then waited for her reaction.
Well she didn't say anything about the actual song, but again, words weren't necessary, the grin on her face told Brendan what he needed to know, she liked the song. Of course Brendan had went back to his worried mood right after he had finished playing the song. Now he was going to have to tell what was so complicated and hope she wouldn't run.
Brendan sighed a deep sigh, after she asked him how was it complicated, he noticed she had slipped her hand on his chest under his open shirt, so her hand was making contact with his skin. It made him tingle, and he liked it, he brought up his hand to rest upon her own, so she would know he liked the feel of it there.
"Alright" he said slowly when she told him to tell her, and said that she wasn't one to judge and that she had done some crazy shit in her life too. "Well, I don' think it's too difficult to tell sweetheart, tha' I've fallen fer ya big time" he began, and noticed she had shifted her position on the bed so that she was on her side. He saw this as he glanced out the side of his eye. Holding her hand in place with his own, he turned himself around slowly so that he was facing her.
"There's things 'bout me, tha' ya might not understand" he said, well that was a start, referring to his ability, he might as well tell her, because she would surely find out soon enough one day, and he rather she knew because he'd told her, not because she'd found out when he had used his ability thinking she wasn't looking.
Then he had a bit of a panic attack and wondered if she'd take that to mean he was married or had a previous relationship or kids or something. "And no, before ya ask, am not married, never have been, nor do I have any secret kids" he said to reassure her. "It's more somethin' 'bout me personally" he added, and then the final thing he had been thinking of. His family.
"Then there's ma family, I love them sure, don' get me wrong, and they love me, but I jus' don' think they'd get the age gap, but ya know, the more I think 'bout it, the more I ain't gonna let them tell me wha' to do when it comes to ya Sweet Cheeks" he said in a soft voice, as he drew his face ever closer to hers. He had fallen big time, and it was taking him all his time, not to just lean over and start kissing her. But he refrained, wanting to keep himself as much the gentleman as possible.
"So, sweetheart, now ma secret's out, well most of it, wha' 'bout yerself? Ya were gonna tell me somethin'?" he asked, turning the tables on Megan now. If he had to pour his heart out, then she had to do the same thing, set the scales even so to speak. He couldn't believe as he lay there just staring at her, taking in every single thing about her, that he actually had her lying on his hotel bed. If he didn't know any better, he'd say he was having the most beautiful dream and one he never wanted to wake from ever.

Megan noted his comments once more on her 'southern' piercing. It was amusing her highly, but she thought she'd leave it for now, wanting him to wait until he saw it. Although, she was finding it hard to wait. For some reason Megan wanted to just be with him; lay down and kiss him, stroke his golden hair, listen to his sweet Texan accent.
"Great? It's incredible!" She shouted, making several heads turn. In the hotel, Meg listened to Brendan talk about how much the hotel was. "500 dollars?!" She shouted again, earning more tuts and head turns. "That's more than I earn in nearly a month!" Eyes darted over to her, but she didn't care. Nothing could top the high she was on at the moment. She only wanted to be with Brendan, anywhere, anytime, always. "Seriously that's insane, I could never afford that. My flat alone costs $300 a month, it's crazy." She sighed, suddenly remember the mountain of overdue bills indoors on the kitchen table. At the moment she was too scared to ask Ryan, friends and money never usually went well, and he was busy enough as it was.
Up in the hotel room, Megan watched Brendan repeat her 'sexy guy' comment. She raised one of her eyebrows, "Come on, you're gorgeous. Sexiest guy I've ever seen." Her face grew with happiness, and she seemed to beam brightly. After listening to the song, and turning to face him, Megan waited for him to talk. She could see him thinking about it, trying to word it properly. Meg smiled as she felt his hand over hers on his chest. It felt so right, everything about it. Laying there with him, having their hands touching all the time. As he began talking, Meg listened carefully, stroking the faint hairs on his chest as she did.
"Oh you've fallen for me eh? Well... I guess I shouldn't lie..." She paused, biting down on her lip. "Think I've gone and done the same with you dimples." He turned fully towards her, both their eyes locking onto each other's immediately. Megan's heart began racing, beating so fast she could barely hear the thoughts in her head. She was so... in love. "Things like what? Trust me, I doubt you would understand some things about me too." A sudden rush of worry overcame her. She had an ability; she could mimic and communicate with animals. They were her friends, her best friends. Meg was as flexible and agile as her cat, not to mention she had great hearing and sense of smell. She would have to tell him eventually if things got serious. "We've all got secrets, I'd tell you them all right now if you wanted me too." Her soft, pink lips turned into a smile as she felt herself fully trust him. No longer was she judging him or suspecting him of being like 'the rest of them'.
Before she even thought about him having a family again he quickly declared he didn't. "Well that's a relief." She grinned at him, moving her hand from his and placing it on the pillow separating them. His family? Oh God, she hoped they weren't those rich, upper class parents who only wanted 'the best' for their son. "The age gap?" She repeated. "Ah. That could be a problem."
Herself? Meg had too much to tell, and too little time. She was only a young girl, but had been through so much already. "Well I'm not your average twenty year old, as you can probably tell. And the whole age gap thing, my parents wouldn't give it a second thought. They never really liked me to be honest," Megan suddenly felt like telling him everything; all the shit from when she was little. Her eyes looked down, staring at her hand on the pillow. "I was never good enough, always done the wrong thing, listened to the wrong music, dressed in the wrong clothes. Not that I can blame 'em though ya know? I was a pretty messed up kid." She sighed, pouting her lips slightly. Her eyes drifted back to his face, the sudden light growing back inside her. "Sorry, I'm not normally so... in the blues."
A single strand of golden hair lay over one of Brendan's eyes, blocking all of the brilliant blue from her view. It was distracting her. She lifted her fingers up and brushed it behind his ear, feeling his hard stubble as she did. Giggling quietly she couldn't help but comment, "I love the unshaven feel. It's what makes a real man. Shaven men is just... wrong. Women however, that's a different story... like..." Meg looked at him and grinned. "Sorry ma mouth gets the better of me sometimes." Her hand remained on his cheek, feeling the rough stubble beneath. It was a major turn on, mind you he was a major, major turn on all in one.
Meg could feel the damp of her tunic top suddenly getting to her. She came across as cold all of a sudden. "I need to change," She said sitting up and smiling down at him. Her long slender legs slid off the side of the bed, and she stood up, undoing the side joint plaits in her hair to let it all down. It bounced off her back, the slight curls shining beautifully. "Got a spare tee, or am I gonna have to beg?" She winked at him, clutching herself suddenly as she shivered again. Brendan chucked her one of his clean t-shirts next to the pile on the stool next to the bed. She smiled, "Thanks." She turned, going to change, then realised he was probably staring.
"You know, I can't very well change in front of ya. It's SO unlady like, and I don't wanna show off my imperfections to you of all people." It was her scar. That horrible diagonal scar across her back; hardly anyone had seen it and that's the way she wanted to keep it. "Turn please!" Megan smiled slightly at him, suddenly nervous about him looking at her body properly for the first time.

Brendan couldn't help but laugh at the reaction of Megan when he said the hotel was great and mentioned the cost of it. She was shouting pretty loud, and people were turning their heads and tutting at her. He put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her into a side hug, and then looked around at all the turning heads and tuts, "Don' worry she doesn't get out often" he said as he winked at Megan. He couldn't help himself, it was just too funny to resist the cheek and joke in it.
To Megan however, he leaned in toward her, "So, impressed then are ya?" he asked with a grin and a raised eyebrow, it was a pretty silly question to have asked her, because her reaction had already told him she was damned well impressed with the hotel. Brendan didn't like when he had to travel for his work, and when he did, he liked to travel in luxury, so he always made sure he did, even if he had to pay for it himself, like he did this time.
When Megan mentioned about not being able to afford it and her apartment costing $300 a month, Brendan let out a low whistle, "well tha' is pretty steep sweetheart" he agreed, he actually felt quite bad, because he was rolling in all this money from having shares in his parents vineyards and here she was struggling. He felt like when they were settled in the hotel room, he wanted to write her a cheque for some money, and yet finding that he didn't want to for the simple fact she might think he was trying to buy her off, and that's something Brendan would never do, and he certainly wouldn't like for Megan to think that of him.
"Really now?" he asked when she said that he was gorgeous and the sexiest man she'd ever met, "could give a guy a big head with those kinda remarks Sweet Cheeks" he replied with a cheeky grin, showing off those ever famous dimples once more. He looked at her out the side of his eyes, with his fringe flopping over them. But not wanting to sound like he couldn't accept a compliment, "well thanks sweetheart, course ya know I already think yer beautiful, the most beautiful woman I've ever met" he said with a grin as he pressed her nose with his finger in a playful gesture.
He listened to her repeat his words about falling for her and actually blushed ever so slightly when he heard her say she had fallen for him too. So it wasn't just one sided then he thought, and miracles do actually happen, love at first sight, it really could happen. "Have you now?" he asked softly, as he lifted his hand and tucked a stray piece of her hair behind her ear and looked at her, locking eyes with her. "Well sweetheart I think tha's the best thing I heard in a long time" he said softly, as he closed the gap between them even more, so that their noses were almost touching, their lips almost brushing together.
She then said that everybody had secrets and she'd tell him all of hers if he wanted her to. He wasn't sure that she should tell all her secrets, everybody was entitled to keep at least one, weren't they? But he smiled at her when she said those words, as it did give him some encouragement to tell her about his ability. The family and age gap thing was nothing, just a minor wall they could climb over.
"Alright then sweetheart, if ya wanna tell me all yer secrets, I ain't gonna stop ya, mine, well I guess it ain't so complicated, just hope ya can understand and don' think am some crazy guy" he began to explain as he grinned again, then took a deep sigh and cleared his throat before continuing.
"I have this ability" he began slowly, and looked to see if he could see any sort of reaction from her, but he couldn't read anything, at least not yet anyway. "I can manipulate the weather" he carried on, and then sighed again, she was going to think he was a complete screw ball. "Ya know earlier when we got caught in the rain? I could've stopped it, but I didn' know how ya'd have reacted, so I didn' bother. I can cause it to rain, hail, snow, make the sun shine, I can cause it to be windy, lightning, storms, tornadoes, tidal waves, you name it, for the water I have to be no more than ten yards away from the water to make a tidal wave work though" he finished explaining, as he looked away from her for a few seconds, she must think he was completely crazy.
"Ya probably think I'm insane don' ya?" he asked, but he grinned, because if she didn't believe him, he would be able to show her soon enough.
He then listened as Megan spoke about her own life and shared some secrets, Brendan felt his heart ache and lurch for her a few times, it seemed she really did have a sad life. But that would change now she had met him, he wouldn't allow for her to go through such things again. "Certainly not the average twenty year old, but nothin' much wrong with tha' in my opinion" he replied with a smile.
"Well, I don' think there's anythin' wrong with ya sweetheart, and I love the way ya dress and I can assure ya I like ya, to be honest, I think yer pretty damn well perfect and I love ya" he said softly, and then gulped realising he had actually said the word love. He had never said that to a woman before. Oh sure he loved women, but loving women and actually telling a woman you loved them, were two completely different things. But there was no point in denying it, he loved her.
"Don' worry about havin' the blues, so long as you don' have them as often when yer with me" he said winking, teasing her slightly, and when she reached over and moved a piece of his hair away from his eye, he felt himself tingle inside again. He loved this girl completely, and he wanted her to be his from this day forward until eternity. She began talking about the unshaven feel, and how she thought it was good and made a man real, and then went on to say on women it was a different story. Apologising for her mouth getting the better of her. Brendan just laughed. "Yer fine sweetheart, jus' fine."
She then said she had to change and got up off the bed, and loosened her hair, he watched as it fell down around her shoulders in a mass of waves, it was gorgeous. She asked for a spare t-shirt asking if she had to beg for one. "No, ya don't have to beg for one" he said and then he threw over one of his t-shirts. However he soon realised how gorgeous she would look in one of his shirts.
She asked him to turn around and not look because she didn't want to show off her imperfections to him. He couldn't begin to think what imperfections she was talking about. He shook his head, "There are no imperfections Megan" he said, actually using her proper name probably for the first time since he met her that night, "To me yer perfection" he then got up off the bed himself and slipped off the shirt he had been wearing, and gently from behind her, he lifted off her wet top, and immediately he saw the imperfection she was talking about.
With his hands on her shoulders gently, he bent his head down and kissed the full length of the scar across her back, "I see no imperfections Sweet Cheeks, like I said already, yer perfection" and then he slipped on his warm shirt over her shoulders and fastened a couple of the buttons before turning her round to face him. "Perfection" he said again, as he pulled her toward his chest and kissed her.

Megan was thrilled he didn't give her any money. She would of felt so cheap if he did. It was like her being 'his' for the night. It wouldn't of been right, not to mention she would of been insanely embarrassed. Would that always be a problem? He was obviously from a good background, where as she was not. Meg was born in the slums of Vegas, growing up in a trailer park with only school to look forward too. Her father gambled all their money in the casinos. He usually took it out on Meg and her mother afterwards too. The drink got the better of him. Maria was a beautiful mother, taking care fo her daughter in true Italian style; work before play, love before lust, brains before beauty. She was amazing until John began taking his frustrations out on her ever night. Megan was only a little girl, she didn't know what to do. Then came Casey, Meg's little sister. John took to her, treating her like a princess. Megan was cast aside, becoming the elder daughter with 'no potential'. Of course Maria still loved her, and liked her even more than Casey as she was turning into a spoilt child. It was John and Casey on one side, and Maria and Megan on the other. One big mess. Meg left as soon as she could, seeking help from Ryan. Of course, her mother was always nearby, visiting her every week. Oh, how she wished she could provide a better life for her mother.
Brendan's blush didn't go unnoticed by Megan of course. "Nah your head could be A LOT bigger," She started giggling loudly as she did. "Of course I've fallen for you. What girl wouldn't?" Megan actually shuffled forward ever so slightly so her nose touched his. Love. She loved him. Never had someone made an impact like this before. She wouldn't admit it yet, but her eyes were just screaming that she loved him.
"Not all my secrets. Not yet anyway." She said smiling. What she wanted to hear was his secret. The one he seemed reluctant about. Of course she wouldn't think he was crazy, unless the secret was that he was a compulsive liar. Then she'd be a bit freaked. But she listened, and never did she expect him to say what he said. An ability? He had an ability! Weather manipulation, how awesome was that? But before she could tell him how amazingly cool she thought it was, he hung his head. She brought her hand to his face, stroking his cheek with the back of her fingers. "I'd never think you were crazy. Come on, you having an ability! Who would of guessed?! I just thought you were uber cool, I guess that's an ability in a way. Not many people are that cool anymore." Her excitement was hard to control, she was already kicking her legs slightly as she wanted to tell him about her power.
After she told him about some of her more personal secrets, she lost the sudden urge to talk about her animal communication and manipulation. "Nope. I feel more like I'm forty." Her eyes darted to his suddenly. Love. There was that word again. And he had said those three special words, the ones she had been aching to hear for a long time. "To be honest... I think I love you too." Ok. So her plan had just gone out the window, but why deny it? It was too strong to deny. She grinned at him, biting down on her lip ever so slightly. "I can't help it," She said smiling. "It's in my toes, my stomach, my heart, my head. I just damn right love you."
But the buzz didn't last long. Megan was a very emotional person. And 'the blues' was one thing she could never control. "I'll try." She replied gulping. But she didn't actually know if she could control her blues around him. When he winked, she still felt unsettled, worried she would be sad at the wrong time. Megan decided to ignore it for now, if she didn't, it would just make it worse. Besides she didn't want to ruin the moment they were having. It was too perfect.
Waiting for him to turn, she bit her lip nervously. She began to take off her damp top, but then heard him move from the bed. Where, she wasn't sure as she was still turned around. Carefully she turned her head around, seeing Brendan stand with his shirt flung over his shoulder. Without protesting, she let him take her wet top off and over her head. She shivered; a mixture of nerves, excitement and genuine cold running through her. A sudden gentle grip was on her shoulders and she could just feel his breath on the back of her neck. Several pleasure thrills sent up her spine, making her slightly weak at the knees.
He said he saw no imperfections. Meg sighed releavingly, but she hated that scar. It was just bad memories. The sudden feel of soft cotton touched her skin and she was now covered. She turned to face him, looking down quickly to make sure her bra was on properly without any slips. But the playful side in her suddenly appeared again, as she pushed her breasts together with her arms, obviously acting as if she was doing it spontaneously. She laughed quietly, watching his fingers fasten two buttons. She noticed how he went for the lower buttons rather than the ones covering her bra up. It made her giggle. The shirt went well past her hips, down to her mid thigh. Her shorts were awfully wet too and before she done anything else, she slipped them down with ease, tossing them over to her wet top.
Perfection. The word whizzed around her head. Megan grinned at him and wrapped her arms around his bare back. She went up on her tip-toes, kissing his lips so softly. It was more this time. It was a symbol of their love for one another. "Well, that was nice. But I'm sure I can do better than that." She said grinning at him as their heads were still touching. She forced him backwards gently, making him fall on the bed, with her falling on top of him. Meg's eyes lit up, the animal in her obviously coming out.
She sat in his lap, her legs wrapped around him. "I have something to tell you," She said, making him wait longer until their next kiss. She looked down, her hair falling over her face. Without thought, she lifted her hand to his chest, stroking it like a cat. "I have an ability too." She smiled excitedly, "I can mimic animals, and talk to the animal I have mimicked. If I touch a cat, I can then be as agile and flexible as a cat. And then I can also talk to them. It's kinda crazy. One of the stranger abilities in this World I think." She looked into his eyes, waiting for him to say something. She didn't know what his reaction would be, but Meg hoped, she wished, he'd love her all the more for it.

"Well tha's good to know sweetheart" he replied when Megan said his head could be a lot bigger. He winked at her and laughed a little. Megan was simply wonderful, she made him laugh, and that was a wonderful ability to have. If a woman could make him laugh, and they had trust between them, apart from love, what else did you really need? Nothing in Brendan's opinion, even though he could give her the world and it still wouldn't leave him broke.
"Well am not sayin' I've not had women surround me and get all girlie over me, but I can honestly say hand on heart, not one of them ever fell fer me, but then I ain't fallen fer anybody either, at least not until today." Brendan explained, he didn't want Megan to think that he had plenty of women before her, because the truth was he hadn't. He might have liked their company and they certainly might have flocked around him, but he had never had what Brendan would like to call a proper relationship. Not that he was a virgin either, at 30 he had certainly lost his virginity, but he only had small time girlfriends, nothing serious.
"But if any woman was goin' to fall fer me, am real glad it was you sweetheart" he added giving her a warm smile as he noticed she had moved closer to him so their noses were touching. It was such a sweet and romantic thing to do Brendan thought. Megan just oozed fun and sex appeal, and Brendan was totally and utterly one hundred percent in love with her.
"Wouldn't have expected ya to reveal all yer secrets to me in one go sweetheart." What woman liked giving away all their secrets? However, he hoped that maybe one day, if they were going to stay together, they would be able to be completely honest and open with each other.
Brendan was glad that telling Megan he had an ability didn't seem to phase her at all. When her hand touched his cheek, he felt his skin tingle again, and he shivered slightly, she told him he wasn't crazy, and Brendan turned to her again with his trademark dimple showing bright smile. "Must show ya how it works sometime Sweet Cheeks" he said, now that he knew she wasn't too freaked about his little secret, not that it was very little, at least, it wasn't a little secret to Brendan.
Brendan touched her hair with his hand moving strands of her hair behind her ear all the time, "Well I can assure ya sweetheart, ya don' look 40 and ya don' act it, which is pretty wonderful ya ask me." He smiled, well actually the smile seldom left his face, since he met Megan earlier, it was almost all he did apart from when he was in thought worried about something did the smile fall from his face slightly.
When Megan said she thought she loved him too, it filled Brendan's heart with joy. It was amazing. Somebody up above had sent this precious angel to him, and he wasn't about to let her go, ever. No matter how much pressure his parents put on him, if they did, he would never leave Megan. At least that was his intention. When she said she felt the love in her toes, stomach, heart and head, Brendan couldn't help but think of that one song from 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' and because of this he then couldn't resist singing the following line to her.
"Love is all around me, it's everywhere I go, I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes" as he said the word fingers he kissed the tips of the fingers on her hand. "I feel the same way Sweet Cheeks, trust me" he added with a wink. He was going to find it really difficult to go back to New York and be apart from her. Even though they had only met earlier that night, he knew already he was in love, love at first sight, and he knew for sure he'd never survive without her in his life.
The soon as he got back to New York, he was going to make plans to move to Las Vegas right away, he had the money to do it, and the newspaper would just transfer him to the offices in Las Vegas, so he'd still have his job, even though he didn't need it. But Brendan loved being a journalist, and he'd never give it up, even though he didn't need the money, he liked the fun being a journalist gave him. Being a journalist gave him Megan, so really what was there not to love about his job?
"Tryin's better than nothin' sweetheart, but really with me around, I'm hopin' ya'll never hav'ta feel tha' way again" he said softly as he leaned forward and kissed her forehead and her nose. He didn't care if she was emotional, he could be emotional too, and the thing about being in love was, you took the good with the bad, and he was one hundred percent ready to do that with Megan.
After Brendan had put his shirt on her, which came down to her knees, because it was so big on her petite frame, Brendan could only watch with a raised eyebrow and twinkle in his eye as she then easily slipped off her shorts , revealing the bottom of her thighs. Brendan sighed gently and took a deep intake of breath, as he felt himself swell slightly and had to adjust himself. "Well I know we just declared our love to each other Sweet Cheeks, but I didn' think ya'd be quite ready to make love already." Brendan said in a bit of a cheeky voice and grinned. He was teasing her, and hopefully she would know that, although that said, he knew one of the most magical things would be to make love to Megan, the woman he had fallen in love with instantly. But Brendan was a gentleman and he would never push her into something she wasn't ready for. However he couldn't resist the temptation to run his hands up and down her thighs gently caressing them, her skin was so soft and smooth under his touch.
When Brendan had kissed her before, he had made it a gentle one, because he didn't want to push things too far with her, and Megan kissed him back just as softly, which was nice. It was more than nice, it was magical, but then everything about Megan was magical. However she said she could do better than that, and Brendan just raised his eyebrow again and tilted his head to the side. "Oh yeah?" he asked, and was about to say care to show me how, but she was one step ahead of him, as she pushed him back onto the bed gently. Well Brendan wasn't going to refuse, as he wrapped his arms around her back under the shirt she was now wearing.
As she sat in his lap with her legs wrapped around him, he kept rubbing his hands up and down her back and along her thighs as she told him she had something to tell him. More of her secrets he assumed, and he just smiled, "Alright sweetheart, am waitin' fer ya to tell me" he said as he took in another deep breath, she was doing things to his body and a certain bit of anatomy which no woman had ever quite managed before.
Then she told him she had an ability too. Animal Mimicry. It sounded interesting Brendan thought, which given what they were talking about earlier about flying, he couldn't help but wonder if she could mimic a bird and be able to fly. And there he was telling her if he learned how to fly he'd take her with him. How ironic. "I don' think it's strange at all Sweet Cheeks, actually I rather kinda think it suits ya to be honest" he replied with a cheeky grin, because the animal was sure coming out in her at the moment, and Brendan found he rather liked it. "So ya mimicked yer cat? Tha' mean yer gonna curl up like a ball when ya sleep and I get to stroke ya?" he asked with a wink and then began to laugh, as he trailed his finger up the middle of her spine slowly.
"Well, I reckon I've just fallen in love with ya all over again Sweet Cheeks."

Megan giggled when she heard him sing Wet Wet Wet. She hadn't heard that song in forever; ever since she last watched Four Weddings... Such a romantic film. Meg had a thing for accents, and Hugh Grant was no different. His accent was so very British, so perfect. As was the man lying next to her. His accent was sexiest of all. She giggled loudly, "I'm glad you feel the same, and I don't sound like an immature kid." Megan couldn't imagine Brendan not in her life right now. If he hadn't of been there tonight, she could have had a right beating. Ryan wasn't there to help, and most people would of turned the other way. Not him though. He was there, ready to save her.
After Meg slipped her shorts off and stood back in front of him, her cheeks turned completely crimson. Make love. She giggled loudly, covering her mouth with both of her hands. She also noticed him adjusting his jeans. It made her tingle inside, having the swarm of butterflies again. It became stronger when she felt his fingertips rub the softly tanned skin of her thighs. She pushed herself up against him, wanting to be closer to him. But then the wild side came out, she grinned. Oh yeah... "Yeah." She said biting down on her lip to control herself from overloading on smiles.
As she wrapped her legs around him, he lifted his hands and started rubbing her thighs again. Not one bit of her regretted telling him about her ability, "You think it suits me eh?" She grinned, tucking her hair behind her ears. "Yep mimicked my cat." She listened to him go on about her curling up in a ball, which was something she actually done. "I actually do, do that. Curling up in a ball, I'm quite flexible ya know." She winked at him cheekily, leaning closer to him so her chest was almost in his face.
"Oh yeah? Fallen in love with me again? How is that possible?" Her eyes lit up suddenly, as the feeling in her stomach growed stronger and stronger by the second. "Well I just plain love ya, simple as that. You should feel my stomach at the moment." Meg reached over, grabbing his hand and placing it on her stomach. It got stronger again as he touched her through the shirt. "Feel that? I think it's love." She giggled loudly, wrapping her arms loosely around his neck.

Brendan grinned at Megan when she said she was glad he felt the same way and that she hadn't sounded like an immature kid. Brendan shook his head gently, "Sure ya ain't an immature kid sweetheart, I actually think yer one of the most mature yet young at heart girls I've ever met and tha' ain't no bad thing" Brendan said in a warm voice, giving Megan his typical winning smile. Yes he had been full of compliments tonight, probably more than he ever would be with any woman, but Megan was just so wonderful he found he couldn't help it and the compliments just kept coming like an express train. However, Megan deserved every single one of them.
He could only watch as her cheeks went crimson red and she brought her hands up to her mouth when he made his remark about making love so soon. He couldn't help himself when he said it before, but he sure hadn't meant to embarrass her. "I was jus' messin' sweetheart, didn' mean to embarrass ya" he said softly, but looking at the smiles on her face he figured she wasn't really that bothered with what he had said.
"Well, where's this 'better than that' then Sweet Cheeks?" he asked with a wink, he was teasing her but only because he had enjoyed kissing her so much that he wanted to get back to it, but at the same time didn't want to push her, so he did the best thing Brendan always did when he didn't want to push people into anything, he teased them instead. He continued to run his hands up and down Megan's thighs, the skin so soft and smooth.
"Yeah I sure do think it suits ya" Brendan said with a warm smile and the best of it was, he loved animals and hated cruelty to them, a total plus in his book. "Funny ya know, tha' ya've got this animal mimicry cause I jus' love animals and ma sister has mammal morphin' as an ability" he said as he spoke about his sister whom he adored. He just wondered if she would be as annoyed at the age gap between himself and Megan as his parents would be. It was going to be quite intriguing in a way, that his sister and his girlfriend who were going to be two of the most special women in his life had similar abilities and he loved animals. Perfect combination.
He ginned when she agreed she had indeed mimicked her cat and that she does actually curl up into a ball to sleep. Brendan thought that it would be the cutest thing to see. "Well tha's jus' pretty damn cool, I look forward to seein' tha' and strokin' ya, and yer gonna hav'ta show me jus' how flexible ya can be Sweet Cheeks" he said with a grin. Of course he wasn't exactly meaning right now, but sure one other night or day he'd sure love to see just how flexible she could be. He winked at her again, he was loving being around her, she had brightened up his life, and he loved teasing her.
"I don' know how it's possible sweetheart, I jus' have, I think it's quite possible I could fall in love with ya all over again every day until I burst" he said with a wink and a grin. She made it very easy to love her and she was really easy to talk to and be around, she was pretty damned perfect in every way possible. Now Brendan had her in his life, he sure as hell never wanted to lose her and he hoped he never would.
She said again that she just plain loved him, and Brendan's heart swelled. It was so full of love for Megan he thought it would burst, never mind himself bursting with falling in love with her every day. She grabbed his hand and put on her stomach telling him to feel it and that it was love. "Interestin' place to keep yer heart Sweet Cheeks" he said with a laugh, as he teased her again, he wasn't meaning to be nasty, just that most people felt love in their heart, sure you got the butterflies in the stomach, but Brendan wasn't sure if that's what he was supposed to be feeling. "Well whatever sweetheart, it feels mighty fine to me" he said softly as he kept his hand on her stomach for a few seconds longer than was probably necessary.
When she wrapped her arms loosely around his neck afterward, he wrapped his arms around her waist again, and pulled her close to him, so their noses were almost touching. He smiled at her and then actually rubbed his nose against hers, and then keeping one arm around her, he allowed the other to remove one of her arms and placed her hand across his heart, and then he held his own on top of it. "Feel tha'?" he asked softly, "Tha's ma heart and tha's where ya belong Sweet Cheeks, always."
He held her hand there for a few moments, before pulling her closer to him once more and began to kiss her neck gently and worked his way around to her mouth but before he kissed her, he leaned back slightly and looked at her, allowing his eyes to dart from side to side as he took in every single part of her face, she really was stunning and she was his, or at least he was certain she was his. "I love you" he whispered softly, before finally closing the gap between them with another soft kiss.

Megan listened to him tease her constantly about her 'better than that' comment. Ever so slightly she lifted her eyebrow, sitting up straight and stretching her arms above her head. "Well, ever heard of patience is a virtue dimples?" She said smiling. "Maybe I'm waiting for the right time..." This time her cheeks didn't go crimson. They stayed the beautiful, natural tanned colour. Her cheekbones stood out, making her face ever more sweeter. She wanted to kiss him there and then, but she was a tease. She wanted to make him wait, keep him wanting more.
It was so wonderful to know Brendan loved animals. Because there was one way, one real way you could torture her. If the animal that she had touched was being hurt, she would be hurt too. It was a link, a bond. If Megan's cat was burnt, she would feel the burn too. "Your sister?" Meg asked suddenly interested. "She has mammal morphing? That's so friggin' cool!" Megan's thoughts suddenly drifted to the one animal she had morphed into so far. Her darling Marty, named after the protagonist in Back to the Future, one of Meg's favourite films of all time. "Marty my cat, he does this thing that I can do too, it's like he jumps from up high and rolls over when he lands." Meg giggled, looking into Brendan's ice blue eyes and falling in love with him all over again.
"How flexible I can be? Oh... you have no idea." She said winking at him. Megan was actually pretty damn flexible; she could do the splits without thought, and do all sorts of handstands, headstands and the like. In bed... was another story all together. "Well Mr," Her hand ran up his chest, tapping her fingers gently as she went up. "Maybe one day you'll find out." Where had this sudden boost of confidence come from? It was like her whole sadness was wiped away because of him. She couldn't even remember why she was sad in the first place, it all just... went away.
It was strange how Meg's heart was actually beating so fast she couldn't think about anything else other than the man she was resting on. She felt slightly embarrassed when he said about her stomach being a funny place to have her heart. "I mean, I've never had this feeling before. But now it might just be the food or something eh?" It had only down-hearted her a little, but she still felt a bit... awkward now. She done the only thing she could think to do now she had embarrassed herself. Moving her hand as well as his towards her heart. "How about that...?" Her smile grew slightly, showing the slight dimples in the corner of her mouth.
Soon enough it didn't matter where she was feeling love. Because he pulled her tighter around his lap, so she was sitting right where... She bit down on her lip, trying to not laugh. Their noses touched and Megan couldn't help but feel all tingly inside. Brendan lifted one of her arms away from his neck and kept a firm grip of it, placing it on his heart. "I feel it," She said smiling. The soft heartbeat pulsing through her skin. He said that's where she belonged. Always. Her face lit up. "I hope so. Because I pretty much gave my heart to you the first moment I saw you." Almost everyone knew Megan wore her heart on her sleeve. It always worried her. Because it usually always ended up turning ugly. Love was a fickle thing. And Meg was more than wary of it. "You know an ex of mine?" She said, twisting her mouth sideways slightly. "He gave me that scar on my shoulder," She said frowning slightly as she remembered the blade crossing her skin viciously. Her hand lifted from his heart and she rubbed the back of it, sighing heavily. "I don't know what I done. He just... done it." Why the blues again? Meg thought to herself, 'You're going to scare him away! Stop it!' She shook her head, wishing to ignore the fact she brought him up. "Sorry, ignore that."
Brendan pulled her towards him suddenly, and all of the memories were gone. She felt his lips work their way around her neck up to her cheeks. He pulled away suddenly, and stared at her. Megan stared right back at him, taking in his amazing eyes. Those three special words ran through her mind. "I love you too." She whispered, feeling his lips on hers again suddenly. Megan didn't know what to do but kiss back. Her heart was beating so fast, so very fast. She pushed herself against him tighter now fully resting on his lap, her legs wrapping tighter around his back. The kiss became stronger, with Meg closing her eyes as their tongues touched all of a sudden. Her piercing gently pushing into his tongue as she felt herself draw closer to him. She could feel the heat between them, and the sudden lust for Brendan himself. Her arms wrapped themselves fully around his neck so their heads were permanently touching. Her tongue twisted in his mouth, wanting to be closer to him still. Her body was now full of butterflies, each one fluttering so hard it was making her feel funny inside. She moaned lightly in between kisses, flicking her hair back.
As she stopped kissing him, she began kissing his neck and gently bit down on his skin. Her chest was still pushing against his. And the feel of his bare skin was so soft and comforting, it almost drove Megan over the edge. It was insane how attracted to him she was. It was actually scary. He was perfect. Everything about him was perfect; his hair, his face, his body, his weight, his height, his personality, his... Well she didn't know that yet, but she could certainly guess that was fine too. As she pulled away, leaving a bite mark there, she bit down on her bottom lip. "So... was that better? Or could YOU do better?" She poked her tongue out cheekily, looking forward to see if he could.
