Jackson waited to see what Emma said, in regard to his now stupid question. He heard her trying to be smart and sarcastically say that it felt like she had been hit with a car. Jackon smiled weakly back at that, not wanting to laugh as he thought it might not do her any good. He watched as Emma tried to put her head up, seeing her trying to look at her body. Then Emma asked him about her leg, he wondered what he should tell her. Though he knew that she would soon learn the truth soon. "You had an operation on your leg. The doctor had to pin it so that it could heal. Then they had to operate on your head to help with the pressure, which helped you. We had to wait until you were conscious to see whether you ... you would wake up or not."
Jackson watched as Marcus kissed her and spoke to her. When she slowly said it wasn't his fault, Jackson secretly thanked her for saying that, hoping that now he would believe her about what happened. Then when Marcus said that he can get to know her, Emma agreed. Jackson smiled at Marcus, knowing that they would all soon get out of here and finally sit down and do just that - get to know each other. But Jackson knew that he should also give Marcus and Emma space in order to tell each other about their past lives before this day.
Jackson saw that it was trying for Emma to just say a handful of words. "Sweetie, why don't we leave you alone to get some rest. You need all your strength to get fully recovered if you want to get out of here." The doctor came in then, to see how she was. Looking at Jackson and Marcus, he said, "It is time for Emma to get some rest. Also you two might need to get some sleep as well. You have been here for some time now. We will definately let you know if there is any change."
Jackson knew he just told Emma that maybe she should get some rest, but he didn't want to leave her. Ushering the doctor into the corner, Jackson asked him quietly, "Would it be okay if I was able to stay close by and sleep in a spare bed or something. I would just feel safer knowing that if anything happened that I was able to get there sooner, rather than later."
He knew that Emma might be hearing him right now, but Jackson didn't care. He didn't want to be far away from her right now. Jackson didn't know what Marcus would do, but he knew that he wanted to do what he thought was best right now. Jackson was waiting to see if she would say anything to him about staying, and he hoped that it wouldn't start a fight. She didn't need that right now.
The doctor looked at Jackson. "I am sure I can arrange something if you want to stay. I personally can't see any reason as to why you can't. If there is any change, I will certainly keep you posted." Jackson thanked the doctor, and then went over to Emma's bedside.

Marcus couldn’t believe she was finally awake, looking at her he couldn’t help but think how beautiful she looked besides the cuts and bruises everywhere. He watched on as she joked with Jackson about feeling like she had been hit by a car. Marcus couldn’t help but comment on that line. “Ye know, you’re me sister alright, only a Woods would joke about something so serious when they’re in obvious pain.” He then watched with sadness on his face as Emma asked about her leg. Marcus didn’t know where to look or what to say, so he was glad that Jackson was doing the talking when it came to that.
When he had kissed Emma on the cheek, he felt her take his hand and bring it to face as she gently spoke, telling him slowly it wasn’t his fault. Hearing Emma say it wasn’t his fault made him feel a lot better, and he smiled at her warmly. “Glad to hear that Emma, although I do wish I had waited until ye had both crossed the road before I shouted on ye.” He said with slight sadness in his voice, but smiling at Emma just the same, so she would know that he had stopped blaming himself for the accident. In truth the driver was the real person to blame, and he had been drinking, that was just out of order in Marcus’ eyes.
When Emma agreed that she would like to get to know him, Marcus smiled at her again, and then leaned in to kiss her on the cheek again. He couldn’t really say he knew her of course, but he could tell he loved her already, as a sibling should be loved and hopefully in time, she would feel the same way about him.
When Marcus heard Jackson mention about giving Emma some rest to let her sleep and help with her recovery, he had to agree, nodding his head. “Sounds like a good idea.” Even though he didn’t really want to leave her, and no sooner had Jackson said it, the doctor came in and said the very same thing. Marcus overheard Jackson ask if he could stay and then he heard the doctor say that shouldn’t be a problem. Marcus put his hand on Jackson’s shoulder, “I’m glad ye don’t want to leave her, to be honest, I don’t want to leave her either.” Then Marcus turned to the doctor with a weak smile, and sighed gently before asking, “Doc ye reckon I could stay as well?”
The doctor looked from Jackson to Marcus, “I can’t see that being a problem, we do have a family room, you’re welcome to stay there and if there is any change in her condition we can call you.” The doctor gave Marcus a smile and slapped Marcus on the back with his hand gently. “Thanks Doc.” Marcus replied and then looked at Jackson, “Looks like I’m getting to stay as well.”

Emma didn't expect Jackson to laugh at her attempt at humour, after all, when she'd laughed herself it had hurt her slightly and she knew Jackson wouldn't want to put anymore pain on her. However he did smile weakly, so at least she knew he had got her attempt at humour. Of course she had asked about her leg after that, and she listened carefully as Jackson explained what had happened to her. It seemed like there was so much wrong, or so much had gone wrong. It was scary in a way. Hearing Jackson speak of her leg though was the worst part of it all. She knew in her heart what it meant, her leg being pinned together meant she'd never be able to skate again.
She turned her head away from Jackson and Marcus and began to cry softly. She may have been taking time out from skating to have a baby with Jackson, but she hadn't wanted fate to step in the way it had. It was telling her she might never be able to skate again. However, Emma got a bit of fighting spirit back, and she turned to face Jackson and Marcus again, tears still flowing. "I know what it means Jackson, I might not be able to skate again? But I'll prove the doctors wrong, even if I can't compete, I can coach." She said in a fighting voice and weak smile. Although every word was slow, she meant them. After the way her coach treated her, she knew she could make it work. At least if a prize skater came to her and said they wanted to take time out to start a family, she'd understand.
Emma just smiled at Marcus when he said he was glad she didn't blame him. Why would she? It wasn't his fault a car which was speeding hit her. If anything, it was her own fault for standing in the road the way she had. "Or I could have crossed the road when you shouted instead of standing still." Emma said slowly, with a weak smile. They really could go over and over it again and again. There was no point to it.
When Jackson spoke about leaving to give her some rest, she shook her head as much as she could. "Don't....go." She said looking at both Jackson and Marcus. However, she heard the doctor mention she should have rest as well. Maybe he was right, but she didn't want them to go. Neither of them. She then heard both of them ask the doctor if they could stay, this made Emma feel a lot better. Even if they were in another room, so long as she knew they were there.
"Glad you're not leaving." Emma said slowly with a smile when she saw Jackson and Marcus come toward her again. Just knowing they were there made her begin to relax more, and that was when she felt her eyes closing. She was exhausted, and couldn't stay awake any longer. But before she drifted off, she was able to say one more thing quietly, but not that quiet, "I love you Jackson Poe."

Jackson noticed Emma turn away when he told her about her leg. He began to wish it was him lying there instead of her. If his leg was broken, it wouldn't make much difference to his career, but with Emma she needed her legs to skate. Then she spoke about what it meant, just what he was thinking. The tears in her eyes was going to get him off again, but he managed to hold them back for Emma's sake. "I am sure that whatever you choose to do will work out for you. I will go along with whatever you decide."
After the whole 'what if' about the accident had finished being discussed, Jackson watched as Emma and Marcus both agreed that they couldn't wait to get to know each other. He hoped that it would be sooner than later. Though Jackson knew that there was plenty of time while Emma was in hospital, as long as she got her rest in between. He knew that Emma needed to get to know Marcus, as he was a completely unknown person to her, and she needed to know everything there was about him.
Jackson didn't want to leave Emma, and was glad that the doctor had let him stay. He then had to hold back a laugh as Marcus also asked to stay. Jackson kind of thought that would be the case, though he was happy for that. He had hoped to maybe talk with Marcus as well, away from the prying ears of Emma. Jackson had learnt over time to keep whispered thoughts to himself, but would love to talk to someone about his thoughts about Emma and himself. Also it could be good to speak with another male person who was older than his brother. He loved Lance, but he was much younger than Jackson, and had not had any life experience to help with problems.
When Jackson went back to Emma, he heard her say that she was glad that he wasn't leaving. The smile she gave warmed his heart, reminding that she was doing okay for now. But Jackson soon noticed that Emma's eyes were closing a couple of times. Rubbing his thumb over her forehead, Jackson whispered to her, "We will leave you rest sweetie. You need to keep up your strength to get well." Then Emma quietly said that she loved him. Jackson got right near her ear, and said, "I love you too Emma Woods." With that he kissed her cheek, and began to make his way out the door.
As Jackson waited for Marcus to come out, he rested his body against the wall of the corridor. Closing his eyes, Jackson let out a sigh of relieve. He was really happy that Emma had woken up, and then thought about his life without her. Jackson couldn't really picture it, as it made his heart break with the thought. He then opened his eyes, and saw the nurse at the desk. Walking to the desk, Jackson asked, "Where abouts is the family room that the doctor was talking about?" The nurse pointed down the corridor to Jackson's right. "Down there sir." Jackson acknowledged the nurse, "Thanks." Then he went back to where he was standing, and waited for Marcus.

Marcus could only watch on in sadness as Emma turned her head away when Jackson had explained about her leg. However he was happy to hear her spirit when she turned back round and spoke of possibly coaching instead of competing. That certainly sounded like the Woods spirit he had himself. "That sure is fighting talk ye know Emma Woods." Marcus said and smiled at her. He was also glad to see Marcus supporting what ever decision she would make. He sounded like the good decent bloke his sister needed. However, this was Jackson and Emma's conversation, so he just stayed quiet and smiled.
"I suppose you're right, ah maybe it's best we just drop the subject then eh Sis?" Marcus asked calling her Sis for the first time since he had caused her accident. He wasn't even expecting an answer from her, he knew that it was best to drop the subject and even if Emma didn't, he would. She didn't need to go over and over it all the time.
When Emma asked them not go to, Marcus felt his heart break, however, they had managed to fix it to stay in the family room, which was good. It meant they could stay, alright, not beside Emma, but they'd still be close at hand if she needed them. "We'll be close enough eh?" Marcus said softly, as he once again kissed her on the forehead. Just then Jackson began to rub his thumb over Emma's forehead, and Marcus noticed how tired she was getting. They would have to leave her to sleep soon. No sooner had he thought that, Jackson said those very words.
"I agree with Jackson lass." Marcus said softly and smiled at her, he had already kissed her again, so when Jackson kissed her cheek, he began to make his way to the corridor. Marcus heard Jackson ask where the family room was and he gave him a weak smile. "Ye coming then Jackson, my good man?" Marcus asked and then smiled a bit more brightly, "If ye got the energy in ye, maybe we can have a bit of a talk before we sleep eh?" Marcus asked, thinking it would be nice to get to know a bit about each other, especially since Jackson seemed such a big part of his sister's life.

When Jackson said he would go along with whatever she decided Emma just grinned at Jackson, well as much as she could do given her current situation and pain. "Thank you." She said slowly. Having Jackson's support meant everything to Emma. After all he had been trying to help her with her two chosen careers since she had met him, fate just happened to intervene and make the decision for her, more or less.
Jackson then said that they would let her rest. She smiled, she figured after everything she had been through, she could do with the rest. "Alright." She said softly, and then he whispered into her ear that he loved her too, before kissing her on the cheek and she watched as both Jackson and Marcus left her room to go where ever it was they were to go.
About a minute later, if that, Emma was asleep.
{maybe just finish off with a couple Jackson/Marcus posts? Or if you want to close it as it is, that's fine}
