May 5th, 2009 Ronon Dexter had the day off since Jason was at home safe with his family as they had to have a intervention or something, he wasn’t quite sure. Here he was in the governments’ own community building. It was a place for their workers to get the latest dvds all the way to getting lunch. This place had it all. He loved going here talking to Buddies from the army or to the secretary’s he had seen over the years. He had just grabbed a muffin as he was going to pick up his order of the new Die Hard series collection until he saw a women sitting down on one of the couches. Lily Giles, Jason’s chief of staff, he had met her several times other then at work. She was really nice and he hoped she considered him a friend because he developed strong feelings for her that he would never admit. “Well who do we have here?” He sits down next to Lily, giving her his charming smile. “So what are you doing here all alone?” He wanted to see if she was okay because normally she didn’t have the time to just sit here and relax. He wondered if it was guy problems. He hoped it wasn’t because then he would feel uncomfortable and not sure what to say or how to get the heck out.

Lily had been working really hard, well as the Vice President's Chief of Staff it came with the job. She didn't really mind, she got on well with Jason and she got on well with most of the staff based in the Government like herself. One person in particular had caught her eye over some time however, and that was Jason's bodyguard, or at least, one of them, Ronon Dexter.
Lily just thought he was so big, strong and cuddly, however Lily wasn't the type to show her feelings, not just because she saw him during work, but more because it was just the type of person she was. It took Lily a while to show feelings for a man if she had them. She kept them well hidden, or at least, that's what she thought.
You see, Lily might not make it that obvious to Ronon, but for people looking in on it from the outside, it would probably be very obvious how she felt about him. So naturally when she was deep in thought thinking about him, she should jump when she heard him speak.
She looked up into his mesmerising eyes slowly and actually thought she could feel her face flush slightly. She smiled, "Well hello there Ronon, and how you may be on this fine day?" Lily asked, her typical British accent strong as always in the surround of the American accent.
Oh, that smile, my gosh it was simply to die for thought Lily, however she just smiled back at him. "Oh, nothing much really, I had some free time, and thought I would come here, have a coffee and relax with a good book" she said as she held up the book she had earlier laid down to eat her sandwich. The book was an old classic Lily had read over and over again called Little Women. "How about yourself?" she asked.

“Whoa easy tiger.” He states placing a hand up trying to calm her down. He chuckled a bit as it was funny for her to jump at him but then again a lot of people were scared of him. He hoped Lily wasn’t scared of him or his whole demeanor changed trying to make her comfortable.
“Just enjoying my day off. How about you?” He sat down smiling at her as he moved on the couch. He glanced at the book before looking into her eyes after he glanced at her body. “Good choice.” He heard of the book before maybe even watched the movie but he was more about action books. “I’m just here to pick up some DVD’s.” He stretched his arms out placing them behind the couch with one arm close to Lily’s shoulder.
“Plus I’m here to eat.” He held up his muffin smiling at her. “Mind if I join you?” He didn’t want to leave if the two could get to know each other any better then they already did. He watched her smile, her lips were ruby red and looked soft and kissable. Ronon then became to picture the two outside of work hanging out, kissing, then something more. he coughed a bit getting out of his thought.

Lily felt her face blush slightly and she laughed a little when Ronon lifted his hands up saying whoa, easy tiger to her. Damn, what must he have thought of her. It was true Ronon was a big guy and some people were rather intimidated or scared by him, but not Lily, to her he was just a big teddy bear. But what could she say? Oh hi Ronon, sorry I jumped but I was so busy thinking about you at the time. Erm, no, that wasn't on the cards. Not for Lily, least, not now.
"Sorry about that, I was just so lost in my thoughts, I wasn't expecting anybody to talk to me" she said, explaining away her jump. She didn't want Ronon of all people to think she was scared of him. Far from it. She would die to be held in those strong arms.
"Yes, I'm enjoying my day off as well thanks, time to myself, to relax and have fun, doesn't happen often as you're probably more than aware of" Lily said with a smile. So, how coincidental was that? They both had the same day off, had somebody outside looking in on them planned that? She mentally shook her head and stopped the thoughts.
She smiled when he said her book was a good choice, "Thanks" she replied softly. She didn't even notice him glancing her over, she was too busy glancing him over, she just hoped she wasn't making it too obvious. He then stretched his arms out and one of them slightly brushed against Lily's shoulder, and immediately she felt goosebumps running down her arms. "Oh, nice, what DVD's are you planning on getting?" Lily asked, desperately trying to avoid the fact his arm was across her shoulder. Even if his arm wasn't actually leaning on her, she could sense it there, and she did feel it slightly every now and then depending on how she moved.
He then added he was there to eat also, showing the muffin to her, she smiled, "Sure, of course you can join me" Lily said smiling at him again, staring into his eyes with her own, as they etched his face. Why would she have said no, when she wanted to get to know him more? Hell, why would she say no, when she just wanted to kiss him, and yet at the same time, didn't want to show the fact she had these feelings. Sometimes Lily wished she wasn't so complicated.

“I get like that sometimes. “ He smiles at her giving her a wink. “Just try it when you’re around Jason. You’ll get a great reply to it.” He didn’t want to bring up work but he didn’t really know too much about what Lily liked to do outside of work besides reading. He should check and see if she had a face book then he would know more about her. Though that would make him a stalker and those were the kind of people he went after for a living so the two wouldn’t mix.
“Yeah you can say that I’m just glad Jason’s family has some problems to figure out.” He hadn’t had a day off in weeks due to the fact that he worked for the Vice President and also for the fact that Danko convinced President Petrelli that they should be on high alert. “Though your job seems a lot harder then mine.” He watched her lips as she talked, making him really want to kiss her.
“The die hard series.” he sates now feeling a bit out of her league. She wouldn’t want a guy who was only into action of any kind and who knew nothing about culture. “Great.” He took a bite of his muffin glancing at his feet, since we always were flip flops he enjoyed looking at his toes because he always got a pedicure. He didn’t care if the other members on the staff joked at him for it. Looking back up at Lily he smiled before he stated the obvious. “Nice day to be off.” He felt so stupid but couldn’t think of anything else to say besides, ‘do you want to date me? Would you?’

Oh my god, don't wink at me Ronon please, thought Lily, it was driving her insane. She really did like him, she really wanted him badly, but Lily just freezes around men she likes. She's never known why she's been like that, but she just always has been. Usually the minute she gets close to a guy something happens and it all changes and it all gets messy.
She looked away from him almost shyly, "Yeah, I'm sure I would get a great reply to it, mind you with Jason, never usually get the time to be lost in my thoughts." It was true, the only time she ever got truly lost in her thoughts were days like this when she had nothing much better to do.
"Me too" Lily replied when Ronon said he was glad Jason had family stuff to sort out. She had to laugh slightly and look away again when he said her job seemed harder than his. "Don't know about that, you could be, well for want of a better way to put it, killed in your job, protecting Jason." She bit down on her bottom lip then, she hadn't meant to sound quite so morbid but it was the truth. He was a hired bodyguard and they protected the people with their lives, that's what it was all about. Lily didn't know what she would do if anything happened to Ronon and she'd never got to tell him how she felt. Yet that barrier remained in place.
When Ronon told her what DVD's he was getting Lily's eyes brightened, "Really? They are fantastic movies, I love Bruce Willis, all muscles and action." Then she realised she might have come across a little eager about it and drew back slightly, but still smiling at Ronon. She really had loved those movies.
"No problem" she replied as she took another bite of her sandwich and when he later said it was a nice day to be off, she smiled again. "It sure is, just wish I had something more...." she trailed off a little as she got lost looking into Ronon's eyes, and thinking to herself, something more exciting, like going on the most wonderful date with the most wonderful man I know. Then realising she had left Ronon hanging for the rest of the sentence, she coughed to clear her throat, making it look like she had something stuck there, "something better to do, sorry about that."

Ronon nodded and smiled at her. “Yeah I guess you don’t see him as much as I do.” He chuckles a bit. “I guess that’s a good thing.” He watched her look away thinking it was cute. “Yeah if we didn’t have the day off we couldn’t have had this talk.” He really wanted to tell Lily that he was interested in her in more then a friends way but he couldn’t.
He nodded, his job was risky but he loved working as a bodyguard. “True but you need to know political stuff which I have no clue about.” he leans in a bit. “Plus you need protection too. Never know who would want to get pay back.” he knew that he would protect Lily with his own life if it depended on it. He would do just about anything for her. He would love to do everything to her even.
his eyes brighten up. “Really? Cool.” He gives her a look before blushing a bit. “You should join me soon to watch them then.” Maybe they did have stuff in common then. He really hoped she would want to watch the movies with him because it would give him a reason to see her more. When she said she wanted something better to do he got an idea. “Well we should watch the movies now then.” He gives her a smile before brushing a hand through his dreadlocks. “That’s if you want to.”

Lily laughed a little, "Yes, maybe it is a good thing, although I do like working for Jason." She felt she had to add that in case Ronon thought she was uncomfortable with her job. She wasn't, she loved it, despite the hard work which surrounded it, however the best thing about Lily's job was Ronon. She blushed slightly as she thought about that. "I'm glad we got the chance to talk too Ronon." God even saying his name made her blush and feel things she'd never felt before. She really wished she could break down the walls. Why was she always so awkward around men she likes? It doesn't happen that often but when it does, Lily becomes so tongue tied it's crazy.
"True, political stuff isn't easy I admit, but my life wouldn't depend on it." She couldn't help but emphasise that, if she came into work one morning to find out Ronon had been injured protecting Jason, Lily felt sure she'd never feel the same way ever again. When he leaned in to speak to her some more, she shivered as she felt his hot breath against her skin. Oh Ronon there's nobody I'd rather have protect me than you she thought to herself. Smiling and saying instead, "Well that's very decent of you Ronon, but I'd surely feel terrible if anything happened to you at my expense."
Lily couldn't help but brighten up again when Ronon seemed happy to hear she liked his choice in films. It was so sweet the way he seemed to be happy about it, and yet at the same time Lily felt she had to hold back a little. "Yes, it's cool." She replied playfully nudging him with her arm. She didn't want to act completely weird around him and make him think she didn't even like him when that couldn't be farther from the truth.
Lily wasn't sure what to say or where to look when he suggested she watched them with him soon. It was almost like he was asking her on a date and yet she knew that was ridiculous. "Yes, that might be rather good." So long as you don't sit too near me because I wont know if I'll be able to resist just climbing on top of you and taking advantage. Then she mentally kicked herself for thinking such things.
Oh my god! Did Ronon just suggest watching the movies with him now? Oh god, oh god! What to do, what to do? What should I do? I don't know, you're the one with the answers not me. Her heart and head were having an argument with each other. If I want to? Of course I want to, but... stop it Lily, stop the thoughts, just give the guy a god damned answer. "Uhm, I think I might have..." she was going to say something on, but then realised that would definitely make her look like she hated him and she didn't want that. "Sure, why not, I'd like that, yes I would." Finally her heart won the argument with her head.

Ronon nodded as Lily talked about work. “I enjoy my work as well.” He loved when Jason would do thing that involve the cabinet so he would see Lily even more then just passing the halls when he went on break. Though he would never tell Lily that but he did enjoy seeing her as often as possible with their jobs always being hectic. He brushed his hand onto her shoulder. “Hey its my job. I’ll protect you no matter what.” Sure he would love to do more then just protect her but he would dive in front of her if a bullet ever came her way that was for sure.
He gave her a look as she was debating on whether she wanted to watch movies with him making him a bit sad. “You don’t have to you know.” Though he was hoping she would say yes but if she he would leave and mope around for the rest of the day. He gave her a smile once she had said yes. “Great. Do you want to come over my place or should we go to yours?” He then thought about his place and how he had only one television and couldn’t remember if he had placed it in his bedroom the night before of left it out in the living room.

Oh, you have no idea how much I enjoy my work, especially when I get to see you Ronon, Lily thought to herself, and yet she would never tell him. "Well, I guess neither of us would be here if we didn't enjoy our work." Lily said with a bit of a laugh, as she liked the humour in what she had just said with regards to their jobs.
Oh my freaking god, don't do that! Lily thought when Ronon brushed his hand against her shoulder, it was driving her insane. But at the same time she liked the feel of his skin against hers. Trying to keep her composure she smiled at him, "Well it's nice to know that Ronon, although I think Jason would be your priority in a case like that." What she meant was, if it came to protecting Jason or herself, she'd hope he'd chose protecting Jason over herself any day, he was the Vice President after all.
"Oh, I didn't mean to make it look like I didn't want to, I just wasn't sure if I had something else on or not." Lily said trying to make up for her stumbling over his invitation, even though the truth was she wasn't sure she could be in such close proximity to him without giving in to her feelings. The look of sadness on his face as she had been thinking over what to do touched at her heart a little.
Of course once she had said yes she saw him lighten a little, and then he asked if she wanted to come to his place or should he come to hers. She wasn't sure once again how to answer. It wouldn't matter where they went, one place would have them as close as the other. With a bright smile, she packed her stuff away into her handbag and then looked at him, gazing into his eyes, "How about your place?"

He nods at her. “Yes I know but still you are my second person to save if an event were to happen.” He wanted to tell her that he would make sure Jason was safe then he would make sure she was safe and taken care of. He really liked Lily but had no idea how to tell her without sounding weird.
He gave her a huge grin. “Well I’m glad you did say yes.” It was true he was freaking out when she was unsure about seeing the movie with him but he could only think that I was because of that they worked together. They wouldn’t want to get caught by Jason even if it was just watching a movie together and not a date even though Ronon would think of it that way.
Ronon got up grabbing his bags. “Sure my place is fine.” He was glad that she was going to come over so he would show off his area with all of the pictures of important people he had met over the years plus he had a great bed just in case anything would happen.

Lily smiled and nodded her head, "Well that makes me feel very special Ronon." She felt she had to say that, after all having somebody like Ronon look out for her, wasn't a bad thing at all. Hell, it was a bloody good thing, what she wouldn't give to just wrap her arms around his neck and kiss him. But she just couldn't, she couldn't even bring herself to say she liked him. Besides, wouldn't a relationship be frowned upon anyway? Because they worked together?
"Me too." Lily replied, she was glad in a way she had said yes, it would actually be good to spend some time with him, which wasn't particularly work related. Alright, maybe being so close to him might be a little awkward, but she would get used to it. She had been talking to him, giving him glances and smiles for a while now, it wasn't as if it was going to be something new.
"Awesome, sure am looking forward to it, be good to see that bloody good movie again." The looks she often got when she spoke like that in the States, but she figured once they realised she was British, that it explained everything. In fact a lot of the Americans loved listening to her talk. She stood up and smiled, "Lead the way ha...." and stopped herself, she almost said handsome there. She blushed a little. This wasn't going to be very easy. But she'd do her best to enjoy herself, well how could she not enjoy herself, in the company of such a handsome guy.

He gives her a look winking at her. “You are very special Lily.” He really liked her but he knew if he were to act on it, it shouldn’t be here of all places. He looked around seeing a lot of the people they both worked with or for and then he knew that if this was ever going to happen that he would have to hide it all together from everyone.
He gave her a smile when she started using her homeland language. “it’s a great movie.” The way she talked was cute but he wasn’t sure how to tell her that without making it seem like he was joking with her. He got up smiling at her once she said she was ready to go. “Very well.” He walked with her making there way outside. His apartment was about three buildings away which meant it wouldn’t be a long walk. “So besides watching the greatest movie series on earth what else do you do for fun?” He knew what he would want to do with her but he pushed that back in his mind trying to just enjoy the time he did have with her.

Lily could feel herself blushing when he winked at her, he then said she was special, which made her blush all the more. Having someone as handsome as Ronon who she secretly adored tell her she was special was, well special.
She smiled at him as he confirmed that indeed it was a great movie and of course began to lead her outside so they could get to his apartment. As they walked he asked her what else she liked to do for fun. Well Lily knew what else she liked to do for fun, and it was certainly something more intimate than watching movies, and particularly with Ronon, but she wouldn't say that, for one, it would be too embarrassing for herself, and it would almost certainly embarrass Ronon, especially if he didn't even feel that way about her, and of course right now Lily couldn't be sure he thought anything more of her than just a good friend.
"Well I love to read, going to the cinema and oh I love Broadway Musicals, that's the main things I like to do in my spare time anyway." Lily replied giving an honest answer, but loving to give more to it than she had. But that would have to wait for another time. She smiled up at him, as they continued to walk to his apartment. She wondered how much longer it would take.

“I like movies too.” He smiles at her as they get to his building. He opens the door letting her walk in before he did. “I also work out way too much for fun.” Ronon walks them to the elevator pushing the button before looking over at Lily. “I hope you like popcorn.”
As they get into the elevator he gives her a smirk. “I use a secret ingredient. Might make things hot.” He shakes his head knowing that could be taken a couple of ways and he wanted them to be taken all the ways. He put c pepper into his popcorn to give it spice but he would love for things to get hot between Lily and himself. He walked them to his door opening it sighing in relief that the television was in the living room. “Make yourself comfortable. I’ll get some drinks and popcorn started.” He walked into the kitchen with its window looking into the living so the two could still talk.
