"I've had a few people tell me already, that one day I will feel pain again, maybe they're right, I guess I'll never truly know until it happens" she explained with a smile. "I try not to think about it too much, I mean, so many people in so much pain would love to be like me right now" she grinned slightly, realising she's more or less just repeated what she said before, only in a different way.
"Maybe I'm finally getting used to the idea, seeing as it doesn't seem to bother me as much as it did before" she added, or maybe it was talking to Henry that was doing it.
"Well I don't know why he attacked me either, well actually I do, he has something called 'The Hunger', it basically means he's not happy unless he's killing and taking peoples abilities" she explained some more. Biting down on her bottom lip before continuing, "And I don't think he'd be stalking me Henry, he's my uncle, believe it or not" she finished, looking away from him for a second.
The guy was sure to think she was definitely from some crazy dysfunctional family. Wait, she was, wasn't she?

Henry blinked a couple of times. "Wait, he's your uncle?" Henry asked. Ok, so he wasn't the only one with a psycho killer in his family. He just didn't like to think about someone from a person's family going after someone in said family. It just reminded him of his dad.
"I guess there are a lot of psychopaths in people's family huh?" He said. "My dad sort of went crazy and killed my mom and sister." he told her. "I was kinda scary. My mom divorced him a few months before and all of a sudden he shows up at our door and goes on a rampage." So yeah, now he had someone to relate to.
He looked down at the ground for a minute. The thought of his father still out there frightened him.

"Yeah, he's my uncle, it came as a shock to us all, trust me" Claire said a little bitter. She still couldn't believe what he had done to her. Well she could, he was a killer, but the fact that he was her uncle, that was the difficult thing to digest.
"Sad as it may seem, but yeah, you could be right there Henry" she replied, when he mentioned about there being a lot of psychopaths in people's family. Claire listened as he spoke of how his father killed his mom and sister. It was terrible. It saddened Claire to think about the waste of such good lives. Especially his sister, obviously being young.
Then she saw how he got a bit upset over it, which was totally understandable. She instinctively put her hand out onto his arm, "I'm so sorry Henry, that's just awful" at least Sylar hadn't killed any of his family, yet.

Henry was glad Claire was here to show some support. Thinking about his dad really brought him down. He didn't like talking about it, but if Claire was willing to tell her life story, then so was he. It felt good to actually tell someone about his past. Well, someone who knew what he felt at least.
"Yeah, it is I guess. I mean, I miss my mom and my sister. I mean, if it hadn't been for my brother, I don't know where I'd be today, so I'm really thankful for him. It's just...it's just..." Henry paused for a minute. He frowned, a little frightened expression on his face. "My dad's still out there somewhere. And I'm kinda scared."

Claire listened carefully as Henry spoke more about his family life, and it really tugged at Claire's heart. Was that a little flicker of pain she was feeling? Not her own pain, but feeling the pain of someone else. It was a start right?
"Well of course you miss them Henry, that's natural, you're lucky to have an older brother looking out for you" Claire said softly, with a warm smile. "And well, now you got me if you want" Claire added, with a smile.
"What I mean is, if you ever need anything, I'd like to think we could be friends" she explained some more, still smiling at him constantly. Claire had made a friend and she felt good about it.
They had been walking for quite a while now, and were almost in Manhattan, the place where Henry had intended to get to. Claire was getting thirsty thought, and looking at her watch it was just leaving tea time, and she saw the lights to a cafe up ahead, still open.
"Would you like to go for a coffee or something?" she asked Henry, pointing out the cafe which was just a few minutes away from them. "I'm feeling very thirsty" she explained with a grin, her reason for asking if he wanted to go for a coffee.

Henry smiled gratefully at Claire. It wasn't everyday that he met someone like her. She was nice, kind, and helpful. She knew what it was like to have a dysfunctional life. He could actually relate to her. Well, minus the lack of feeling pain and the difference in the powers, but still. "Thanks Claire." he said. "I don't have a lot of friends here in New York. Glad I met someone I relate to."
She asked if he wanted to head into a coffee shop. Truthfully he was getting a little hungry. He was sure the shop would have something to nibble on. He turned to her and grin. "Sure. Why not? "
He noticed that the area was starting to look familiar and he realized that they were almost in Manhattan. It probably wouldn't take much longer before they made it to his house and he talk with his brother about his new friend. James would probably be glad he made a girl friend that he didn't out right hit on.

"Well truth is Henry, I don't have any friends in New York either, at least I didn't, now I do" Claire said giving him a warm smile. "So just you call on me when ever you like", writing her cell number down on a piece of paper and handing it over to him, "Just call me your surrogate sister or something" Claire said softly, and laughing slightly.
"Well it's nice for me to have someone I can relate to as well" Claire added, and smiled when he agreed to go for a coffee. The cafe was only a few seconds away now, as they had been continuing to walk toward it.
"I might get something to eat as well" Claire said and grinned, "My stomach just let out an almighty growl, it's a wonder you didn't hear it" she laughed. They had now approached it, and Claire opened the door.
The woman behind the counter smiled at Claire, "Good Evening Miss Petrelli, what can we get for you?" she asked Claire, with a warm smile. Claire looked at Henry, "What would you like?" she asked him, and then turned to the woman again. "I'll have a coffee and a cheese and ham toasted sandwich please" and then she waited for Henry to give his order while she took out her purse.
"Oh, no you put that away Miss Petrelli, this is our treat" Claire looked at her and smiled, "Well if you're sure" she said, "Of course Miss Petrelli" the woman confirmed. Claire looked at Henry and shrugged.

Henry took the phone number from her. "One week in New York and I already got a girl's number. I'm doing great." he joked. He thought about Claire as a surrogate sister. It would be nice to have a sisterly figure again. He gave a sad smile at the thought of his sister, but his smiled brightened up again. He shouldn't be living in the past. Not now at least.
As the got to the coffee shop, he was impressed that the lady behind the counter recognized Claire. Then again she did say her dad was a candidate for president so he shouldn't be too surprised. When she asked what he wanted, he had to think about it. There were so many good choices.
"Um, I guess I take an ice capichinoe and a chocolate chip cookie." he said. When the lady said it was on the house, Henry couldn't help but grin. "I'm going to definitely call you up the next time I go out to get something to eat." he joked.

"Yeah not bad at all Henry, not bad at all" Claire joked back. It had taken her slightly longer than a week to find someone she trusted enough to hand her cell phone number out to. But she was glad she'd found someone she could relate to, and he seemed sweet enough.
She could tell Henry was amazed that the woman recognised her, she just grinned. This fame thing wasn't so bad in a lot of ways, especially when it got you free food. She placed the order, and several moments later the lady handed her over a tray. "Thank you very much" Claire said giving her a warm smile. "Not a problem" the woman said, "And I really hope your father wins the election" she said. Claire blushed a little, "Thanks, I do too"
Then she took the tray over to a table in the corner, sat it down and then handed over the cappacino and cookie to Henry with a smile. Then took her own coffee and toastie off the tray.
"You call me any time you want darling" Claire said, "Even if it is for food, I don't mind" she said and laughed, because she knew he had been joking, and she was doing the same thing.

Henry grinned at the food. He was hungry, but a cookie would do for now. He took a bite and smiled. It was good. He looked back up at Claire. "Will do," he said through a mouth full of cookie. He grabbed his cappachino and took a sip. This place really had some good stuff.
"So Claire. Mind telling what's got everyone riled up about this election?" he asked her. He was why everyone was making such a big deal about politics. To him it was nothing to a bunch of old farts trying to take over the government and pile drive it into the ground like Bush did. So what was so important about this one?

Claire was happy when he said he would contact her when he wanted free food. Even though they had been teasing about it, Claire would do it. She'd bring him here, because she knew she'd always get her snacks for free in this cafe. For some reason the people here loved her father Nathan. Although, she could see the attraction, she loved her father too.
"To be honest, other than the fact that my father is one of the Senators running for the election, I haven't a clue. I've never really been to any of his discussions, but I am sure he's going to do the best he can for the country" she responded.

Henry nodded. He could understand her not knowing much. After all, he knew crap about politics, so it wasn't a surprise that she didn't know anything either. Smile, Henry held up his cup. "Well Claire. It's nice meeting you. To an interesting friendship." he said, toasting his drink.
(OOC: Sorry it's short. Couldn't think of anything else.)

Claire smiled at him, when he toasted their friendship. "Well it was lovely meeting you too Henry, and I'm sure we will have an awesome friendship" she replied as she too toasted their friendship with her own drink.
She did begin to wonder if they should be making tracks though, she should be getting back home. Even though Nathan was busy with his election campaign, she also knew that she had gone out and was expecting her back soon, he'd worry if she didn't get back home soon she thought.
"Maybe we should think of getting home after this?" she asked with a smile, after all she still had to get all her new clothes out of their bags and into her new wardrobe in Nathan's house. Her new home.
[ooc: dont worry, I can have days like that too - suggest finishing this one off anyway]
