Matt simply nodded, taking everything that the older Matt was saying to him, repeating it back to himself in his mind. He wanted to keep this crash course in telepathy to be worth something out of the end... Not potentially what had happened in Kansas. He was suprised to hear that it wasn't as much as an illusion, but only affecting the single person, not a group. That was a bit of a buzz kill. But he supposed that in time, he could affect multiple people with practise.
When the older Matt had explained everything, Matt smiled. "Ok... Here goes." He said, his mind still cleared from the projection exercise. He closed his eyes, allowing his mind to concentrate. He opened them, looking into the other Matt's eyes. He focused his concentration onto the older Matt, zoning in closer than he ever had with his power.
He however felt really strange about being in the older Matt's mind, feeling a little numb in his body, and feeling what the older Matt was feeling, in regards to the 5 senses. Ignoring this however, he projected into his head as he had before. You can see a purple monkey dancing on the bench behind me, dressed as Lady Gaga and shaking a pair of marraca's. Matt projected into the older Matt's mind, zoning back out of his mind.
However when he did, he could suddenly feel moisture on his head, as well as a small amount under his nose. He placed a finger on the amount under his nose, smelling blood. He had been having a nosebleed whilst projecting the thought, and been unaware of it. "What the..." Matt said to himself, pulling out a hankerchief in his pocket and wiping it away.

After Matt explained to the younger Matt, what he could do wasn't specifically illusion but altering a single person's view on what they could see, he said he would try it. So Matt stood there and waited to see what he was going to do. After a short time, he heard the younger Matt in his head, and heard his voice, telling him there was a monkey dancing on the bench behind him dressed like Lady Gaga shaking a pair of maracas.
Matt looked behind the younger Matt, and sure enough there was a monkey dancing on the bench, just like the younger Matt had said. Matt began to laugh out loud at how ridiculous it looked. Then he looked at the younger Matt with a broad grin on his face. "You did it Matt, you did it."
But his grin soon turned into a frown when he saw the blood coming from the younger Matt's nose. That couldn't be good. Matt hadn't had that happen to him, but he figured maybe the younger Matt had just been concentrating too hard. He approached him then, well, closer than he was to him before. "You alright? You're not feeling faint or sick or anything? I think you may have just been pushing yourself a little too hard."

"Great... That's..." Matt said, smiling as his illusion had worked, suddenly stepping back a little, sitting down on the bench he made the monkey dance on. He shook his head a little, trying to shake the dizziness out as he heard the older Matt's concerns. "Yeah... maybe just a little... That's weird. I can heal myself, so why would I get a nose bleed over something like this?" Matt said to himself, at the same time directing the question towards the older Matt.
He'd learned so much within a half an hour than he probably would've on his own. He probably would've kept it at mind reading if anything. It was then that Matt looked up as though something had clicked inside his head. He couldn't help but remember back to Kansas... That spirit that used Ray's body to cast the illusions...
"Maury was telepathic..." Matt simply stated, forgetting that Parkman was there for a moment. That's how Maury had tricked Matt into thinking that Knox and Adam were standing in front of him... Now Ray had that power too... "Oh no..." Matt said to himself, remembering how he had thought of Emilie in front of Ray... She could be in trouble!

{Dear god, sorry for delay - I'm not having it good just now, antibiotics are playing havoc with me, sorry}
Matt could only watch with concern as the younger Matt, suddenly struggled to speak to him, and then made his way to the bench to sit down. When Matt mentioned that he might have been pushing himself too hard, the younger Matt seemed to agree with him. Matt listened to what the younger Matt was saying. Especially when he said he had the power of regeneration as well, technically he shouldn't be bleeding. But then, if he remembered correctly, it took Peter quite a while to get into tune with all his abilities.
"I'm not sure why you got that nosebleed then Matt, if you can regenerate. But what I can tell you, is this. Peter Petrelli, has your ability, and at the start, he could only use one ability at a time, or at least, that's what his mind was telling him. Turns out all he has to do is think about the ability he needs to use and he's in tune with it. You might be the same." Matt explained, hoping he might be helping the younger Matt once more.
After a small silence, the younger Matt spoke once more and mentioned Matt's father's name. "You met my father?" Matt asked in confusion, as he was certain his father was dead. In fact he knew he was dead, so this couldn't be right. "Maury was my father, he's dead, how the hell did you meet him? He's not a good man." Matt shook his head, and then mentally slapped himself, the younger Matt could have met a past version of Maury, after all, nothing was unusual in this world they lived in. Then the younger Matt said 'oh no'. Matt looked at him, "What? What's wrong Matt?" If this had anything to do with his dead father, he wanted to know about it.

"Peter Petrelli? You mean the President's brother?" Matt asked as the older Matt explained that Peter was like him. A mimicker as well. It was then that Matt had already decided to seek out Petrelli, hoping that he would help him control his overall mimicry. Matt's ears shot up however when the older Matt mentioned Maury was his father. He looked at him, his eyes widened.
"Maury's your dad?!" Matt asked, looking at Parkman with a pure mix of confusion and fear. Perhaps Ray had heard that Matt was seeking out Parkman... No... He couldn't of. "No... He's dead alright. I met someone with the power to speak to ghosts. Only they can take over his body and regain use of their power. I suppose I was lucky to escape..." He said, thinking about how powerful Maury really was.
As Parkman asked what was wrong with Matt, after he uttered his concerns, Matt looked back up to Parkman. "I'm sorry, but a friend of mine could be in great danger. I thought about someone whilst I was near your dad... and I think he heard it. I have to get back to New York..." Matt said, jumping up off the bench and looking at Parkman, his head a bit clearer now. "Look, I want to thank you for everything you've taught me... And before I go, I just want to ask about this Peter guy. Do you know where I can contact him?" Matt asked, hoping that Parkman could give him a number, address, anything to help him.

{ooc - again I'm sorry - I've fallen behind with not getting on as much due to feeling so bleh - but last day of antibiotics - so hopefully be back to normal soon enough)
Matt gave the younger Matt a weak smile when he repeated Peter's name, and then saying, the President's brother questioning Matt. He nodded his head, "The one and same, yes." Matt certainly hadn't minded helping this young guy out, but he wondered how Peter would take to being asked for help, although known Peter, he'd be only too happy to help him. Peter always was such an accommodating guy, so nothing would surprise him much.
Matt gave the younger Matt another weak smile when he questioned the fact that Maury was his father. "Yes, he was my father." Putting emphasis on the word 'was'. Matt hated his father, and what he became and what he did. Matt was glad he hadn't turned out like his father. When the younger Matt confirmed that he was indeed dead, Maury that is, Matt felt a little bit of relief, and then the younger Matt said he was lucky to have escaped. "I should say so, my father was a very bad but very powerful man with his ability when he was alive."
When Matt had asked the younger Matt what was wrong when he said 'oh no', he told him a friend could be in great danger, because he had thought about them and he was scared Maury may have heard. "Well, if you're that concerned, I'd say it was a good idea to be heading back. Although you have quite a bit to travel to get to New York." Matt wasn't meaning to be nasty about it, he just hoped that this young guy had a way of getting somewhere fast, if he was a mimicker, then maybe he had the ability to teleport or fly which would be very useful for him.
The younger Matt then thanked him for all his help, and Matt could only smile warmly at him. "You're welcome, just glad I could help." He then asked after Peter, could he give him a way of getting in touch with Peter. The young guy seemed nice enough, and hadn't attacked himself, he couldn't see the harm in it. He would just make sure to phone Peter and warn him that a young guy by the name of Matt, and no, not his younger self from the past, was going to be paying him a visit soon.
"Sure, I don't see him minding. He actually lives where you're going, in New York, Lower Manhattan as far as I'm aware." Matt then scribbled down Peter's address and handed it to the younger Matt. "There, that's where he lives. I'll phone him and let him know you will be visiting, so he's not too alarmed about a stranger turning up on his doorstep, I am sure he will be able to help." Matt then put a hand on the younger Matt's shoulder.
"It was good to meet you, keep safe, and should you ever need me, you can contact me by email, or mobile." With that, he scribbled down his mobile number and email address and handed that over to him as well. And with that, he turned to leave, "Good luck with your friend." He shouted over his shoulder, and then made his way home to his lovely Jenna.
{ooc - by the way, I play Peter too - sorry lol Well, I share him, but Bambi isn't on much these days - so yeah - but I play him for the most part}

(Oh ok, well then when I get back to New York, looks like we'll be meeting up, lol.)
"Hey look, a couple of bus rides is no problem for me, I got here in a couple of weeks because I wanted to sight see. This time I'll go express." Matt said, looking at Parkman as he mentioned the trip back. It was times like this Matt wished he had run into a teleporter or someone who could fly or had a travel based ability.
Matt smiled as Parkman gave Matt the address to Peter Petrelli's home, which was in New York! This couldn't be because of luck... Since the comic book Matt had bought in Kansas had predicted this... Freaky was the thought running through Matt's head. As Parkman placed his hand on Matt's shoulder, Matt couldn't help but smile a little. Parkman gave off that trusting vibe, which was fair enough, since he was a police officer.
A couple of moments later a new paper was in his hand that had the older Matt's contact details and then turned around to walk away, saying goodbye. "Thank you Mr Parkman," Matt said as he watched Parkman fade into the crowd. "Good luck against Mohinder..." He said to himself, his earlier illusion placement had given him more than just access to his senses.
With that, he pocketed his hands into his jacket, walking back towards the bus station, ready to get the next bus back to New York.
