After Carly had hugged April, there was a silence, one which lasted way too long in Zeke's opinion and he was beginning to feel a little awkward. Maybe the whole ghost thing was too much for April to take on board, especially when Carly had hugged her. The next thing he knew April's phone was ringing, and she had to take a call. Zeke wasn't sure what to do at that point, other than just sitting where he was and Carly came to him and started fiddling around with his hair. Not that his hair was that long, but it was obviously long enough for Carly to mess around with.
Carly then whispered into Zeke's ear, "I don't think she really likes me much. Probably because she can't see or hear me?" Zeke sighed, and pulled Carly up into his lap, and began to play with her hair, tucking strands of it behind her ear. "I don't think it's that sweetheart, I think she's just finding it all a bit strange, give it some time." At least Carly was keeping her composure, he'd hate to think what would happen if she got upset over it.
Soon April was finished her conversation and he saw her give him a weak smile, making apologies about a disaster on page two. He smiled back at just as weakly, not how he had imagined the reunion going when they were both free agents, but never mind. He shrugged, "It's fine, these things happen." Zeke had waited for this moment for such a long time, that it made no difference, if they had meet up again another day.
April then said she had to go, which he had expected. He nodded his head, "Understandable, go get it sorted. I'm extending my stay, so we can definitely meet up again soon." He gave her a bright smile then, before going into his pocket and tearing a piece of paper off a mini notepad he kept on him, and wrote his number on it, "Call me." He got up from the sand then, placing Carly on the ground, and gave April a hug, "See you around then?" He then held his hand out for Carly, "Come on sweetie, time to go." He then made his way back to his parents house, would this be the start of them getting their relationship back on track? Or was this the big, it's never going to work between us? Only time would tell.
