Matt simply chuckled as Emilie mentioned the whole living with his brother's thing. She had been completely oblivious to the whole situation. When she mentioned she didn't have anyone, he simply smiled. "You got me babe... Especially since I just cured you of that tumour your mother had..." He said, hearing the doctor entering, his shock purely expected. He turned to Emilie, smiling for a moment and winking, before turning back to the doctor.
"What are you talking about... We just came in for a routine check-up... Don't you remember?" Matt asked, tilting his head slightly as he telepathically altered the doctor's memories, implanting a fake one of Matt and Emilie walking in and getting her checked up whilst Matt was asking about being a paramedic.
"Thank you for the forms, and give Peter my regards and well wishes for the gift I gave him." Matt said, smiling as he turned to face Emilie. "I'll explain it all later... Let's get out of here." He said with a smile, winking at her.

Emilie hadn't meant anything by saying she didn't have anyone, but the truth was, she didn't. At least, not family wise. She had Carla her mom and Stephen her brother, but neither of them had been around for her for a while now. The worst thing was, not knowing what had happened to them. She had even, at one point, got the ability to go to the future again, but her dad Bruce had moved on, and her mom Carla hadn't been seen for months the neighbour told her. So she'd come back to the year she had been used to for months.
She couldn't help but smile as Matt chuckled at her. Having been out of it for a while, she had no idea what he was chuckling about, but it didn't matter. What mattered was she was feeling better, much better in fact, and Matt was there saying she had him, and he called her babe. She couldn't remember anybody ever calling her that. She gave him a much brighter smile then. His next words made her feel even better. He had saved her life. "I think I'd be lost without you, and now that I think about it, I'd be dead without you as well." Just then the doctor came in and Emilie had to look away and giggle lightly as Matt put thoughts into the doctor's head.
"Oh, yes, of course. How silly of me." The doctor said as he shook his head, and gave Matt a bright smile. "Well, everything's fine and she's free to go." The doctor had then handed over the forms to the young man with regards to becoming a paramedic. "You're welcome for the forms, and I will pass on your message." With that the doctor left the couple alone, but leaving the door open so they could leave when they were ready.
Emilie did look at him with a raised eyebrow wondering what he was going to explain, but she didn't care, she wasn't alone in this crazy world, and that's all that mattered to her. She grinned when Matt winked at her. "Yeah, let's get out of here. I just want to go home. Well, your home, if that's alright?" There was no way she wanted to go back there, other than to collect some essential items and clothing.
