{ooc - figured Brendan could finish it off with him leaving to go home and sort his sorry ass out lol}
Hearing Loreli say that he was not that bad looking at all, that he was much more than that actually made him feel good about himself in the respect that he was obviously still enough of a catch to get the younger females interested in him still. The last young female to have fallen for him was Megan, his original love he lost, in many ways he felt foolish for having let his mother get in the way of that relationship, but she had moved on and good for her, at least they were still friends, really Megan could have hated him and she would have had every right to do so. So it would seem to Brendan that the younger females were making better friends than lovers, although he figured he would always have a soft spot for his Sweet Cheeks and now he would probably always have a soft spot for his Barbie too.
When Loreli commented that neither of them were in good places right now and that the little excitement they just shared was needed to knock some sense into the both of them, he had to agree, and he was about to say as much when she continued saying that maybe he should have known better but she should have been old enough to read the signs but was somehow ignoring them. “Maybe we both ignored the signs to be honest with ya, the soon as I started kissin’ ya I should’a known wha’ I was doin’ was wrong. Ain’ no point fussin’ over it anymore I guess, wha’s done is done.” He gave her a warm smile then, whether it was right or wrong, it would seem they had both learned something from it, and that was probably a good thing.
Brendan had taken a few gulps of the coffee and then sat back commenting on how great it tasted and that there was going to be no more honey nectar for him. He chuckled when Loreli giggled and then had to smile nodding his head when she said she agreed with him. There was only so much alcohol you could take when you were letting your inhibitions down like Brendan had done tonight so far. Brendan had then taken one of Loreli’s hands and kissed the back of it before speaking to her thanking her for understanding and she wasn’t the girl he thought she was. When Loreli said the tabloids always got her wrong and she was glad someone had seen the real her, it put a little idea into his head, something he hoped would remain there until the next chance he got. “Well, I think it’s time some of the population out there got to know more abou’ the real Loreli Hailliday, if ya ask me.” Brendan then downed the rest of the coffee, and already beginning to feel somewhat better, and feeling he would be steady enough on his feet to get himself home, he stood up.
Looking down at her, “Well, it’s been a pleasure Loreli.” He then scrambled in his back pocket for one of his business cards and handed it over to her. “It’s got ma mobile number an’ ma e-mail if ya ever wanna get in touch an’ go out as friends, jus’ gimme a call sweetheart. I best get maself off now an’ see if I can sober maself up, got a daughter to think abou’.” With that he gave her a slight bow and smile before making his way out of the bar and heading for home. As he walked along the sidewalk he realised how close he had come to breaking one of his rules when it came to women, he was so glad he had been able to stop himself. Maybe now it was time to just focus on Libby and himself, they seemed to be doing alright with Grayson, if he was lucky enough to get another woman in his life, he would make sure they were going to be the right one and not wear his heart on his sleeve so easily.
At least that was the plan, but with Brendan when it came to matters of the heart, his plans never worked, his heart always ruled his head, and no doubt about it, it would do it again.
{ooc - also if you believe this is the last one and I think it is - just let me know if you archive it, so I can mark it off, thanks}
