Bently smirked, after Matt replied to what he said. He had then pushed the woman back, and saw that she hit the bench behind her. That was a pretty good place for a bench, he thought, at least it did some damage maybe. He knew that the move he just did wasn't appreciated by the man, who was now tightening his grip on Bently's neck. Though he was still able to say something back to the man.
"Really." And that was all Bently got out, before he was winded by the punch that the man gave him. Bently went to grab for the other man, but he was then pushed forefully back, landing on the ground hard. Bently layed there for a few seconds, trying to overcome what had just happened, and watch as the man spoke to the woman. Bently coughed a few times, trying to get back his energy and ego. In a crocky voice, Bently called out, "You have just made a big mistake doing that."
Bently slowly got up off the ground, and slowly stood upright. He soon felt himself getting back to normal somehow, and then started to move towards the man. "I don't think either of you will be going anywhere right now." Bently made his way over to the other man, and touched him.

Just as Matt's punch impacted the man, he managed to hear him reply with a 'really'. "Damn right, asshole." Matt said as he pushed the man back, taking his defensive stance in front of Stacey. She had hurt herself against the bench she had been pushed back into, and frankly her pains in her stomach weren't related to food by the looks of things. He had to get her out of here, and fast. But first, this psycho had to be subdued.
Matt watched as the man got up, stating that Matt had made a mistake. Matt just raised an eyebrow at him. "Pft. Do you know how many times I've heard that line? Stay the hell down, asshole." Matt said as the man approached Matt, saying they weren't going anywhere. "See, that's where you're wrong." Matt said as the man touched Matt, Matt quickly reacting with Super Speed, reaching over and grabbing the man's hand with his own, and with a quick flick of his wrists, pushed the man's hand off him. Matt then proceeded to attack with his speed, aiming quick flurries of punches at the man's torso in an attempt to put him down.
"I'm pretty fast, so I think I'll go wherever I please!" Matt said whilst punching at the man, hoping it would be enough.

Stacey was glad to have managed to sit on the bench, that the man had pushed her into. Her back wasn't broken, but she could feel that it was hurting like hell, knowing that it was probably badly bruised from the impact. Stacey wanted to sit back, but she was holding her stomach, trying to will for that pain to just leave her, which it had for now. Though if it was contractions this early on, then the hospital was still the best place for her.
Stacey lifted her head up to witness what happened next. The man that Matt had kicked and knocked to the ground had gotten up after a while, which made her worry all the more. Stacey began to feel sick. Why did I have to go out today, Stacey thought, why didn't I just stay home. The man said to Matt that he had made a big mistake, and she watched as Matt replied, like it was nothing. Stacey frown a little with the back pain, wondering if Matt was going to survive this fight as it seemed like the other guy was determined to do away with both of them, starting with Matt, who seemed up for the challenge.
The man got close enough to Matt to touch him, and Stacey didn't kow what to say or do. But the next thing made Stacey really look in surprise. She watched as Matt moved very fast around the guy, pushing his hand off of his arm, and punched him with excessive speed. So it seemed to Stacey Matt was special. An Evolved Human.

Bently raised his eyebrows at the other man, who had said that he had heard the whole 'you are making a mistake' line before. He gave him a creepy smile. "I suppose you have. But I don't give a shit." Bently had then chosen that time to grab a hold of the guy's arm, but that seemed to not work, as soon enough the man pushed off his hand. So it seemed that this guy had more than one ability, which intrigued Bently very much.
"So..." But that was all Bently got out, beore the guy began to attack him. The punches were getting too much, and Bently fell back onto the ground. He hated how old he was, and sometimes wished that he had the ability to stay young. He would have been able to endure the hits and whatever else was to come. Bently heard what the man said, but he was in no way in a good way to reply.

Matt watched as the old man fell to the ground from his attacks, Matt interupting a sentence the man was about to say. "Oh I'm sorry, were you about to something? I have a habit of ignoring creepy old villains who prey on pregnant women." Matt said as he walked up to the man, picking him up by the collar of his shirt and with a burst of speed, threw the man against a nearby tree, slamming him into it.
"Now... I can read your mind, and I know you've done this before. The last you actually killed the baby of a young woman... So you're very lucky I'm about be as generous as I am." Matt said as he let go of the man, immediately roundhouse kicking the man's kick at super-speed, hoping to break his leg. "If you EVER touch another woman again, I swear to god, I will hunt you down and rip you apart, limb by limb." Matt said, spitting on the man with disgust before running back to Stacey, picking her up and cradled her in his arms as he looked back at the man before running back to the bags he had dropped.
"Wanna hold to those for me please?" He asked her as he crouched down, allowing her room to reach and grab the bags. After she had done so, he just looked at her and smiled. "Hang on tightly and keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times." He said as he sped off in a burst of speed, weaving through traffic and stopping in front of a hospital within seconds. "And here we are." He said with a smile as he placed her on the ground gently, making sure she could stand before escorting her inside.

Stacey was trying to hear what was being said between the man and Matt, or what Matt was saying to the guy. It was a lot of sarcastic remarks, which Stacey would have smiled or laughed at, but at that point in time she was just worried more than anything. First for her and her baby's safety, and now Matt's safety. But after her thinking that he was an Evolved Human, maybe he won't need her to worry too much.
As Matt continued to talk to the other man, Stacey zoned out for a minute, leaning back onto the back of the bench. Her back wasn't the issue right then, it was the pains she was having, like they were contractions. She continued to breath how she had been taught in the last class, and it was sort of working.
Matt soon was over with her again, which she was glad of. He picked her up off the bench, and she went to wrap her arms around his neck, but he then asked if she could hold the bags. Stacey slowly nodded, and as he moved her to grab them, she picked them up, and placed them in her lap. Matt then smiled and asked her to hold on tight. She quickly reached up with one arm, and wrapped it around his neck. Though as Matt went at superspeed towards the hospital, she hoped, Stacey had to close her eyes, but due to the fast speed in which Matt was moving, was not going her any good. It was like she was going to be sick. Though luckily she didn't.
And sure enough they were soon stopped, and Stacey slowly opened her eyes, trying to ease off the feeling of being sick. Stacey gave him a weak smile as he set her back down. She tried to stand, but her legs gave way, with the bags falling to the ground. "Maybe it is bes if you just leave me here and go and get a wheelchair or something."

Bently literally felt like a punching bag right at that moment. And he knew it wasn't going to end well. Sure enough the other guy spoke, then picked up Bently by his collar. "I..." Again that was all he got out before the man threw Bently again a tree nearby. The impact was so severe, that Bently felt like he was going to black out at any moment. He had never gone through this in so many years. Now it seemed that he was going to meet the end of his life right here and now.
Bently tried to concentrate on what the man was saying, and through the wincing in pain, he attempted a grin. "So you can read my mind, hey? Well you should be able to see everything that I have done." After that the man kicked into his leg, and immence pain was felt, making Bently squint, and his hands formed fists to try and stop the pain. Then the man spoke one last time, before spitting on Bently. Bently had no more energy left to say anything, let alone do anything.
Though the last thing Bently did was think: I know who you are. And will come looking for you. He then just slumped to the ground, exhausted.
{ooc - and that is Bently out.}

Matt watched as Stacey almost fell to the ground, grabbing her bags quickly before they impacted on the ground, holding Stacey up in the meanwhile. He looked at her with a raised brow as she suggested for him to leave her and get a wheelchair. "What kind of hero would I be, if I left the victim on the ground?" He asked, sweeping her into his arms again, and with bags in tow, carried her into the hospital, a nurse walking by seeing Stacey in Matt's arms and ran towards the pair.
"Oh my god, are you guys Ok?" The nurse asked as Matt looked at the nurse. "No, I'm just carrying a pregnant woman in my arms for the fun of it... Of course we aren't OK! Get this woman a damn doctor!" He said with a serious look as the nurse quickly got a wheelchair for Stacey, Matt lowering her into it. "I'll be here waiting for you..." He said as the nurse began to wheel her off.

Stacey hadn't meant to blurt out about the wheelchair, but really Matt was still a stranger, even though he had helped her so much already. She then watched as Matt took her into his arms again, and as they headed inside the hospital, another pain came over her. Stacey started the breathing all over again, wishing that David was there with her through all of this. But in a way she wasn't alone. Matt was there with her, and that was all that really matter right that minute.
A nurse noticed Matt carrying her, and she asked if everything was okay. Stacey looked at Matt, wide-eyed as he spoke to the nurse in a very harsh tone. But maybe it was needed, as she was beginning to get worried all over again. The nurse brought over a wheelchair for Stacey, and Matt placed her into it. He then said that he would be waiting for her, but before the nurse could wheel her away, Stacey looked at Matt, grabbing a hold of his hand. "Can you come with me? Please?"
Stacey was panicing a little about what might be found when they examined her, and as she looked at Matt, she bit on her bottom lip, hoping he would come with her.

Matt just looked down as Stacey grabbed his hand, squeezing it a little tightly as she begged for him to come along with her. Normally Matt wouldn't do something like this, especially for someone he didn't know. But he had already saved her life once, possibly twice now. He couldn't just abandon her. Not now.
"Um... OK..." Matt said in an awkward tone as he was pulled along with her by the nurse, who wheeled Stacey into a room. "The doctor will be here in a moment" The nurse said, running out to grab a doctor, presumedly.

Stacey wondered if Matt would just brush her off, or actually do what she asked of him. She didn't want to be alone if something had gone wrong with the baby. But she seemed to let out a short breath, when Matt agreed to coming in with her. "Thanks." Soon after that, the nurse wheeled Stacey into a room. Her heart began to beat a bit faster now, as she knew that she would been seen by a doctor, who may give her good news or bad news.
As the nurse left, Stacey slowly stood up, and moved over to the bed in the room. She sat up on it, and laid down, placing her hands on her stomach. Stacey just didn't want anything to happen to the baby. Just thinking the worse, she began to feel tears well up in her eyes, and she slowly brushed a stray tear away. "Sorry. I am just worried what might be wrong." Stacey gave Matt a weak smile, as the doctor made his way into the room.
"Hi Stacey. I'm Doctor Daniel Savarna. How are you going?" Stacey wiped at her eyes again. "Not good at all really." She looked at Matt, and wondered how much she could really tell the doctor, as he might not be aware of Evolved Humans. "We were mugged by a guy, and I was pushed, hitting my back on a bench. I think my back is okay, might be bruised. But the main thing that I am worried about is the baby." Stacey began to rub at her stomach, hoping that everything was okay with it. "I started to get sharp pains on and off during the ordeal."
Doctor Savarna moved Stacey's hand from her stomach, and pushed over the ultrasound machine. "Let's have a look, and we will see how your little one is doing." He squeezed on the gel, which Stacey didn't react to as her mind was on wanting to make sure everything was okay. The screen started up, and looked at it, almost holding her breath. Then it happened. She heard the heartbeat of her baby. Stacey sat back, and began to cry. It was the best sound she had heard all day.
"Everything looks okay, Stacey. I just think you had a Braxton Hicks contraction. They sometimes happen. Nothing to worry about. When the real thing happens, I am sure that you will know. Let's have a look at your back." Stacey slowly sat up, and lifted her top. After a minute, the doctor confirmed that there was some bruising. Stacey slowly sat back in the bed. "I would like to keep you in for observation. Just overnight okay? I have read that you were in here about five weeks ago, so I want to make sure that nothing happens over the next twenty-four hours, okay? Hang in there. I will send an orderly to come and take up up to a room."
Doctor Savarna went to go, but then turned to face Stacey. "Oh, and the nurse has contacted David for you. He was on your chart to be contacted." Stacey nodded in acknowledgement, and watched as he left the room. She turned to Matt. "I am so glad that everything is okay."

It was a Wednesday and another normal day at work for David except that now he had a photograph on his desk, a photograph of his girlfriend Stacey. She was smiling brightly in it and she looked positively blooming. He couldn’t wait until the day Stacey gave birth to her baby, to well, their baby. David had taken Stacey on as a girlfriend knowing full well she was pregnant by another man but that hadn’t fazed him at all. He had fallen in love with Stacey despite the fact she was pregnant by another man. The biological father wasn’t even aware of the child as far as David knew and the man who thought he was the father had abandoned Stacey when she needed him most, but that was alright, because now David had her.
He had just finished a session with one of his patients when the telephone rang. David answered, “Doctor David Callaghan, how I may help you?” Usually all of the business calls went through his assistant Lynda, but it would seem someone had his direct number, and there weren’t many people who had the direct number to his own office. Somehow before anybody spoke he had a bad feeling and the minute they said who they were he sat up straight with a frown on his face. “What happened? What’s wrong with her?” David asked in a panicked voice, but the nurse just replied in a calm voice, “You would be better to just come down to the hospital David.” David rubbed at his forehead with his fingers and sighed deeply, Stacey couldn’t lose this child, it would devastate her, and it would devastate him. “Alright, I’ll be there shortly.”
David left his office and locked it, “Lynda, I’ve got an emergency with Stacey, can you cancel the rest of my appointments and rearrange them, if anybody calls for me just take a message as usual.” Lynda looked at him sympathetically. “Sure David, I hope everything is alright with Stacey, tell her I’m asking after her.” David nodded his head and then virtually ran down the stairs and out to the parking lot and jumped into his convertible and put his foot down on the gas and headed toward the hospital. Maybe he was speeding a little but he didn’t care, he was at the hospital within ten minutes, and again he jumped out the car, flipping the lock on and running into the reception of the hospital.
“Anastacia Callaghan... uhm sorry I mean Potter.” He said in a rushed voice, cursing himself inside for using his own surname, but it wasn’t for the want of it being real. He would love for Stacey to be his wife. The receptionist looked at the screen and nodded her head, “I’ll get someone to take you to her.” David nodded his head and thanked the receptionist. Two minutes later a nurse arrived. “David Callaghan?” She questioned and David nodded his head, “If you just follow me.” David nodded his head and done just that and within a minute or two he was at the room where Stacey was. He saw a guy with her, a face he didn’t recognise and usually David would put up the defences but it looked as if he seemed to be comforting Stacey somewhat. He ran right up to Stacey and kissed her forehead. “I came as fast as I could.” He then turned to the guy who was with her giving him a weak smile not wanting to be hostile to someone he didn’t know, because he didn’t know the story, but it looked as if this guy had brought Stacey to the hospital.
“I’m David Callaghan, what the hell happened; can someone fill me in please?” He then turned to Stacey, “Are you alright? Is the baby alright?” He asked as his hand absentmindedly went to her stomach.

Matt simply stood back and listened as Mel explained everything to the doctor. he was thankful that she hadn't identified him as an Evolved human. It was something that a lot of people didn't look highly upon. Even though there was not reason to in this case, since Matt had saved her. Anyhow, he just stood and nodded as the doctor spoke, saying that a ultrasound had to be done. It was when that little heartbeat was heard, Matt suddenly softened up a little. That little sound was... amazing.
A tiny little thing like that one in the ultrasound could emit such a strong heartbeat... Matt truly began to smile for the first time in a long time. He just looked at Stacey with a genuine smile as the doctor examined her back and said everything was ok, and that Stacey would have to stay the night. After the doctor left, Stacey looked at Matt and expressed her gratitude that everything was ok. "Yeah... It's good." Matt said, looking at Stacey with a smile as someone walked in soon enough. It was her boyfriend presumedly. He looked at Matt and then kissed his girlfriend, asking what had happened.
"She got attacked on the street. I was helping her out with some bags, and some psycho attacked her. I took care of him and brought her here." Matt said in a calm tone. Straight to the point was how he dealt with situations like these.

Stacey was rather relieved that the baby was okay. She didn't know how she would have felt if something had happened to it, what with the attack and all. The thought of it just brought shivers to her skin. Stacey had noticed the smile that Matt had given off, as the baby's heartbeat came up. It was a pretty amazing sound. Something so small growing inside you, having such a strong heartbeat. Stacey knew that this one was a fighter, which she was happy about.
Once the doctor left, Stacey had commented about feeling glad that everything was okay. She wiped at her eyes at the stray tear that left her eye, and gave him a smile as he replied. Someone walking in caught Stacey's eye, and she turned to look at the doorway. "David..." Stacey then began to cry, as David came over, kissing her on the forehead. She placed her hand on his face. "It's okay. I am glad that you are here."
Stacey heard David talking, seeing him acknowledging Matt. One Matt basically told Davd in a nutshell what happend, he directed the next two questions at her. Stacey placed her own hand over his. "Everything is okay now. I am just glad that Matt here was there when it happened. I am grateful for all that he did. And what he said is true. Some guy came out of no where and just grabbed me. Matt did really well with fitting off the guy." Stacey didn't know if David was aware of Evolved Humans, so didn't speak of it.
"The baby is fine. Strong heartbeat and all that." She smiled brightly at David, but then frowned a little. "But the doctor wants me to stay in overnight for observation. You know, especially with what happened just over a month ago. Also my back is bruised from when I was pushed into the bench." Stacey hoped that she didn't leave anything out.

The soon as David began walking or to be more correct running up to Stacey he heard her say his name and then she began to cry. This just made him run faster to her and told her he had come as fast as he could and then kissed her on the forehead. He soon felt her hand on his face and when she spoke he took her hand in his own and held it caressing the back of it with his thumb, “Where else am I going to be when my girl is in trouble?” He gave her a slight hug then, as best as he could give without wanting to hurt her. “Hush Stacey, it’s alright, I’m here now.” He said in a soothing voice as he then turned to the other guy to ask what the hell had happened.
The guy answered David straight and to the point he smiled at the guy. Then Stacey basically confirmed what he had just heard. He then held his hand out, “Well thanks for taking care of her and bringing her here, I appreciate it. David Callaghan, pleased to meet you.” David had then placed his hand on Stacey’s stomach and asked if she was alright and if the baby was alright. He smiled as he felt Stacey’s hand over his own.
When he heard Stacey say those words that the baby was fine he felt a rush of relief wash over him and he couldn’t help but smile brightly at her. “That’s great Stacey, I was really worried about the both of you when I got that call.” Stacey then frowned slightly and continued to talk some more saying that the doctor wanted to keep her in overnight for observation and also added about her back being bruised. “If I ever find out who did this to you...” David trailed off, he wasn’t one for violence or trouble but when it came to those he loved, well he protected them like a guard dog. Taking her hand in his own and caressing it once more he looked at her and gave her another smile, “Well I think it’s a good idea the doctor suggested that Stacey. We don’t want anything going wrong do we?”
One of the nurses then brought a chair in for David and he gladly sat down on it, he was still a little shaken from the phone call and was glad of the seat now he knew Stacey was going to be alright. “I don’t have anywhere to be than stuck at home alone, so I’ll ask if I can stay with you through the night.” David suggested as he continued to caress the back of her hand with his thumb. There was no way he was letting her out of his sight now that he knew what had happened.
