Sam sniffed a little, and shook his head slightly, as Tommy said that what he had done wasn't helping the situation. Though hearing what he said it did help made Sam just look at him. He knew deep down, when he was alone later, despite whatever the outcome, he would have to let out his emotions, but who knows how he would do that. "Maybe if you feel anger again or anything, imagine whatever it is, is his face." That was all the suggestions Sam had at this point in time as really all his thoughts were for Dom right now.
When Sam had thanked Tommy, and gave him a hug, he felt Tommy's arms go around him, saying he was welcome, and that's what friends are for. Sam nodded, then they pulled apart from the hug. They were soon following the nurse towards the lift where they were to head up to meet with the helicopter which would air life Dom to Nevada. Sam nodded when the nurse said that there were stairs, knowing that he had enough energy to get to wherever Dom was. Once the lift had stopped, Sam climbed the stairs, and was soon met with an open skyline, the helicopter, and the wind the nurse spoke of. When Tommy commented that they were supporting each other enough due to the wind, Sam nodded.
As Sam waited for Dom to come up, he felt his heart beating fast, wondering what he might see of his lover when he appeared. Just the thought of what he remembered off of television or in movies he had seen. Just the thought made him shudder slightly. After a few moments Dom appeared with the doctor and a orderly. Just seeing Dom lying there, unconscious and with the wound seeming very bad to Sam, all he could do was move a hand to his mouth, and felt a tear or two fall down his cheeks. Sam took in a deep breath, trying to stop the tears from falling, and wiped one away.
The nurse then said that they could go in, as Dom had been moved inside. Sam took in another deep breath, and let it out as they moved towards the helicopter. Once they were all inside, they were soon heading in the direction they needed to go to hopefully save Dom.
Sam had never been in a helicopter before, but wasn't really worried as all of his worry was going in Dom's direction. He was so exhausted from all the crying and all the emotions that he had experience already, but he was nowhere near close to wanting to sleep. He couldn't move his eyes away from Dom, and where he was laying. Sam did notice though Tommy sleeping on and off, and in a way he knew he should try and rest his eyes. So he rested his head on the wall of the helicopter, and slowly closed his eyes. Sam couldn't drift off, hearing what the doctor was saying to the pilot.
He soon felt that he was going to nod off, when the helicopter jerked, which made Sam sit up in his seat, eyes wide open. Sam looked at Tommy, but it didn't seem to faze him in the slightest. Looking around, no one really seemed fazed, so Sam sat back in his seat, trying to relax. Though he looked forward, trying not to be too worried. Then the helicopter dipped down, which led to Sam to reach for the arm rests, gripping them tightly, and gasped out loud for a second. He swallowed a little, feeling the colour drain from his face, and the nauseating feeling in his stomach. Sam knew that he wasn't going to be sick, but the thought of them crashing had crossed his mind for a second.
Hearing what the pilot said didn't really give him comfort, and he glanced at Tommy hoping that his face wasn't one of a scared little boy. Sam's eyes then diverted to where Dom was laying on the stretcher, but this glanced didn't last long as he felt nervous again about the flight as the pilot moved the helicopter in a different direction, though then it felt like it wasn't the right way to go as the helicopter hit more turbulence. Sam gasped again, and tried to take deep breaths hoping that they would get through this.
With the noise outside, the sound of Dom's heart flatlining was ringing in Sam's ears, and his hand flew to his mouth. The nauseating feeling from before was back, and ten times worse. The hand that was on his mout was now gone, and his arm was around his stomach, bending over slightly, and the tears started to overwhelm him again. The next thing he felt, while watching the doctor and nurse help Dom to come back, was Tommy's hand in his own, and the pressure from it. Sam squeezed his hand back, so that he knew that he was there for him as well. As they used the defibrilator on Dom, Sam jumped very slightly in his seat, and felt Tommy's hand squeeze his own at the same time.
Twice they used the machine on Dom, but nothing, and all Sam could do was know that his was losing his lover, his best friend, and the one man who truly loved him for him. Sam began to quietly whisper to himself, "Come on Dom... Come on sweetie, don't leave me." Hearing the doctor say something about if there is no response, and trailing off made Sam feel even more worse. He knew what he was going to say, and in a way knew that the machine could only be used a certain amount of times before it was apparent that it wasn't going to work. But Sam wanted it to work, and if they were going to stop after three times, then he would get up and use it on Dom himself.
After the third time, and after Tommy's third squeeze of Sam's hand, Dom's weak heartbeat was heard, and Sam sighed with relief. He closed his eyes briefly, just grateful that they got him back. Tommy soon spoke to him, while the doctor and pilot conversed. Sam gave Tommy a weak smile, "I didn't, and if they gave up after the third try I was going to go up and have a go myself with the machine." His eyes diverted to where Dom was laying, and then turned back to Tommy as he apologised. "No need to apologise, and I agree." Sam didn't let go of Tommy's hand, liking the fact that Tommy was there with him.
The doctor then apologised for what happened, and Sam slowly shook his head. Tommy replied to what was said, and Sam knew that he couldn't just be sitting there just using non-verbal communication. "Yes thanks for everything so far." Sam then rested his head on the wall of the helicopter, and slowly closed his eyes to rest, hopefully.
