27th February, 2010 Peter hadn’t had the best of times recently. In the past year he had lost everyone close around him apart from Claire. His mother had died and his brother Nathan had been killed, murdered actually at the hands of a brutal killer who hadn’t been seen around ever since it had happened. Rebecca had left him giving him no reason for it, there was no note or anything, she had just simply upped and left him. He had then met that Italian girl Bella and for a moment he actually thought that she might be the one for him because, well because she was Italian, however that all fell through when she never bothered to contact him again. This time Peter decided he was not going to get himself into the emotional state he did when his wife of a couple of months left him. He realised that no woman was worth getting that upset over. This time Peter just got his head down onto work saving lives by being a paramedic and a nurse, it was what Peter knew and it was what he did best other than being the superhero. It was a Saturday morning and Peter had just finished a backshift at the hospital as a nurse a job which he did between his shifts as a paramedic. He did both jobs because he liked to help as many people as possible. As he walked down the street heading to his apartment there was a sudden massive explosive sounding noise which seemed to come from behind him. Peter quickly turned round on the spot to see an apartment building beginning to crumble. He had no idea what had caused it, but it was likely it was a gas explosion as the building was engulfed in flames as well. Peter being the hero used his speed to reach the building in seconds and began to make his way through the rubble to see if there was any sign of life. Naturally he was getting covered in flames himself, but as much as his skin was burning and as much as it was painful, the skin was healing over again as quick as it was peeling off. He managed to see a few bodies in the rubble, but everyone he turned over were already dead. Then he heard faint cries and soon Peter figured out it was a baby. He frantically scrambled through the burning and crumbled building until he tracked the cries down to be clearer to his ears and began pulling at the rubble until he saw her. The most gorgeous baby girl, he knew it was a girl simply because the baby was dressed in pink. He gently put his arms underneath her and cradled her into his chest to protect her from the heat and flames and used his speed again to get back out of the building and then stood outside it holding the beautiful baby girl who may well now be an orphan if the bodies he had found in the building had been her parents. The little bundle in his arms looked up at him with bright eyes, the crying had stopped and when he looked down at her, he could have sworn she smiled at him. Soon enough a policeman approached him, “Sir, are you alright, were you in that building?” Peter turned to him and shook his head slowly, “Uhm, no I wasn’t in there, but she was.” He said as he looked down at the baby, “There are a few bodies in the building, they were dead, I have a feeling they may have been her parents.” The policeman shook his head and gave Peter a sympathetic smile. “Is there any chance you can look after her just now until the firemen get into that building to see if there’s any way of being able to track down any relatives for the little girl?” The policeman asked Peter and all he could do was nod his head slowly. “Sure I could, she is nothing short of a miracle, looking at that building, there is no way she should have survived that.” The policeman nodded his head, “If you can give me contact details for you, we can get in touch with you when we know more about the baby and her family.” Peter nodded his head and then rattled off his telephone number to the policeman and he put his hand on Peter’s shoulder and then left Peter to stand there in shock as he held the tiny baby in his arms as the firemen began to go through the rubble of the building.

Lena was glad that it was the weekend. She had had a full on week of helping produce this big budget movie. Don't get her wrong, she loved the work for it so far, but again she had to come across a very demanding director. Lena couldn't understand why she was always matched with these kinds of people. She thought maybe her agent thought she was a good match for them or something. Lena drudged through the week, and now, after a bit of a sleep in, was out enjoying the fresh air.
She headed into the local cafe and picked up her usual regular coffee and chocolate muffin. After thanking the person behind the counter, Lena turned and headed out into the neigbourhood. She looked around as people took leisurely strolls, some walking their dogs, or pushing their children in prams. Lena had to sigh, thinking that she wondered if she would have a child, though she had to find the right guy first, one who didn't think of himself all the time. Though that thought soon broke from her mind, as she heard a loud noise. For some reason, Lena flinched, looking around to see where it came from. But then in the distance, Lena could see smoke. The curiosity got the better of her, and she went running to investigate.
Lena's eyes grew wide, as she saw the devastation in front of her. All she could see was an apartment building on fire, and she stood far enough away to keep herself out of danger, but close enough to see what was happening. Being in the company of good magic, Lena could feel that there were people in the building, but then felt their life slowly fading, which was making Lena rather upset. Without thinking, Lena closed her eyes, and started to chant a spell that would protect her from anything, as she felt she had to go in there to see if anyone was alive.
Just as she opened her eyes, Lena saw a man run out of the burning building. She gasped a little, and then watched as he stood, and she soon noticed he had something in his arms. All Lena could do was throw her barely touched muffin and coffee into a nearby bin, and just watched on as the man cradled the baby in his arms. She hoped that there might be other survivors, besides the baby, as it would be a terrible tragedy if that was the case. All Lena could think about was how the baby would be left all alone, and that just left her even more sad.
Lena pulled out her phone to call the fire brigade, when a policeman went over to the man holding the baby. She stopped and watched them converse, wondering what was being said. Just then a wail from the fire engine rung in the air, and it soon stopped outside the very much ruined building. Lena made sure that she wasn't in the way, as they made their way into the building. She looked back at the man, and saw that the policeman was now not near him. Lena sighed a little, trying to compose herself, and headed towards the man.
She put a gentle hand on his shoulder, and gave him a weak smile. "Hey, are you okay? Were you in that building?" Lena looked from the man to the baby in his arms. She gave the baby a small smile, and then looked back at the man, "Is she yours? She is very beautiful."

Peter was still in shock as he held the tiny baby girl in his hands after he had gone into the burning and crumbling building to see if he could have saved anyone. Everybody who had been in the apartment building was dead other than the baby he was now holding. Peter had no idea if the bodies he had found were her parents or not, but at least one of them had to be because nobody would have left the baby unattended surely? The apartment building which had collapsed due to a fire or gas explosion was the type of building to house around six luxury apartments, so some of the bodies may well have been from some of the other apartments and not just from the apartment the baby’s parents would have been in. It was quite tragic, a few lives had been lost and if Peter had managed to gain a precognitive power he may have been able to have stopped that building from collapsing, or at the very least have been able to get everyone out safely before it happened.
However here he was standing holding this gorgeous baby girl who was looking up at him and pretty much depending on him and the longer he held her and looked at her, the more of an attachment he was beginning to feel as the firemen went about trying to find out if there were any details which could lead to possible extended family for the little girl. Soon enough Peter felt a hand on his shoulder and he wondered if it was the policeman with any news but as he turned he saw that it wasn’t the policeman but a young woman. She then began to ask him a few questions asking him if he was okay and was he in the building. He gave her a weak smile back, “No, I’m not hurt, I know I might look like I am with burned clothes and all, but I’m fine and no, I wasn’t in the building, well I wasn’t in the building when it collapsed that is.” Peter replied and as he did so the tiny baby he was cradling began to wave one of her hands about.
Peter instinctively reached for it with his hand and she soon made a grab for his finger. Looking at her she couldn’t have been any older than a couple of weeks. The woman then looked down at the baby in his arms and looked back up asking him if she was his and that she was very beautiful. He shook his head and looked down at the baby, “No, she isn’t mine, but yes she’s very beautiful. I actually went into the building to see if I could save anyone...” He trailed off and shrugged slightly before continuing, “...some say it’s the hero in me, however this gorgeous bundle was the only one alive, a miracle really.” He looked back down at the baby and again looked like she was smiling at him and Peter smiled back at her. He wished he knew what her name was and then the thought of being the one to take care of her because he had always wanted a family began to run through his mind and he wondered if he should try to think of names for her.
The firemen had been in the building for a good five minutes by now and the flames were all out now, and then Peter saw the policeman who had spoken to him before approach him again. “I just wanted to update you, it would seem that they have found a birth certificate, the name of the child is completely scorched and unreadable but the parents names are clear enough, and the date of the child’s birth was around two weeks ago, so it looks like it may be the child in question you are holding, so I have asked for one of my officers to start a search and see if there are any relatives for either parent. Once I have more information for you I will come back to you if you’re willing to stay at the scene, although I know that the child may need to be fed or changed soon.” With that he gave Peter’s shoulder a squeeze with his hand and went back to the scene.
Peter turned to the woman who had approached him, “It’s going to be very sad if she has no other family to speak of, but I know in my heart that if it is the case, I couldn’t abandon her.” He then decided to introduce himself, “I’m Peter Petrelli by the way.” He then removed one of his arms from holding the child and extended her hand to her. He then looked back down at the baby and thinking how much of a miracle she was and that’s when it struck him, it might not be your usual name, but it wasn’t going to be the usual circumstances for having a child if he was the one to become her legal guardian, “Miracle, that’s what she should be called.” Then to himself he said it over, Miracle Petrelli, it had a rather nice sound to it he felt, then he felt a tear form in his eye knowing that he shouldn’t get attached to her too soon in case there were other family members who could take her in. “I guess I shouldn’t get too attached though huh?” But he felt as if it might be a little too late for that, as the baby had snuggled in against his chest and began to fall asleep.

After Lena had asked the man if he was okay and if he was in the building, she watched him give her a weak smile, and reply. It was kind of a relief that he hadn't gotten hurt, even though, as he said, he might look like he had. It sure did, what with his clothes all burnt. Lena nodded, when he said that he wasn't in the building, then corrected himself, saying he wasn't in the building when it collapsed. Lena went to reply, but then saw that the baby was moving, and looked at it, thinking how cute it was.
Lena had to smile when the man went for the baby's hand, and she grabbed one of his fingers. She then asked him if the baby was his, stating that she was very beautiful. The man said that the baby wasn't, and confirmed that the baby was beautiful. He explained that he had gone into the building to see if he could save anyone. Lena kind of looked wide eyed, thinking that this guy was definately one who didn't lack courage at all. She then watched him shrug, and say that some say that it's the hero in him, which made Lena nod, agreeing with what he said. Hearing him call the baby a miracle, made her smile at the baby, "Definately a miracle." She moved in a little more to see her, and kind of bumped into him. "Sorry. Clumsy me." Lena giggled, then looked out at the building, that was now just smouldering. It was sad to see something like this happen, but unfortunately they did happen.
Lena looked down at the baby, just hoping that her parents were around alive. She noticed a policeman approach them, the one that had been talking to the man before. Lena stepped back a step, to allow the policeman to talk. He told the man that they had found a birth certificate, but the child's name was scorched. Though she felt herself sigh a little in relief, hearing that the parent's names were on there in order to search for anyone who might be related to the parents. Lena gave the policeman a weak smile, hoping that they find someone for the baby, who knew the baby at least. Before the policemen left, she nodded, then turned back to the man.
Lena nodded as the man spoke, saying that it was going to be very sad if she has no other family to speak of. "I know, since she has only been born a couple of weeks ago. Very sad indeed." She gave him a warm smile, thinking of what he said about if there was no one, then he couldn't abandon her. Hearing a grown man say that was kind of sweet to her ears, bringing out the romantic in her. All she could do was smile at him, then he introduced himself. Lena took his hand, shaking it, "Nice to meet you Peter. Lena Foster. And I think that is the sweetest thing. But really, how could you abandon her. She is just a precious bundle to say the least."
Peter then said that he was going to call her Miracle. Lena tilted her head a little to look at the baby, thinking that it was an interesting name, but it did fit, because of the circumstances. She then looked up at Peter, "Well that is an interesting name, but it does fit the circumstances." Lena moved her hand up to the baby, placing it on her head gently, feeling how soft the hair was. She then looked up and listened to what Peter said. Lena shrugged a little, "Maybe. But how can we not get attached to her." She then saw the baby drifting off to sleep, "Awww, look at that. I think she is getting attached to you already." She looked at Peter, and smiled all the more.
Lena looked around, and saw that the firemen were coming out of the building, and heading towards their truck. "I guess there were no other survivors then." She slowly turned to Peter, then had an idea, eyeing off the baby a little. "Do you think that she might have an ability? It could explain why she never got hurt." Lena wondered what sort of ability the baby had, if that was the case. Then she wondered if Peter knew about that at all, about people who were special. Lena knew about them, but she never had an ability as such, she was just a normal human who was also a witch.

Peter had explained to the young woman he had approached him that he had gone into the building to see if he could save anyone and he saw the way her eyes opened wide at that prospect, he knew that he was going to have to explain to her later about his virtual invincibility, what with having regeneration as one of his gained powers. Peter had then gone on to say that the baby was a miracle, because really with the fact that the other people who had been in the building were dead it was amazing that the child was still alive. He had added that she was a miracle and he had to give the woman a half smile at the one side of his mouth as she smiled at the baby agreeing to what he said. She had then moved in slightly closer to obviously see the baby better and as she did so she bumped into Peter slightly making him smile more at her. Then she apologised saying she was clumsy. Peter just tilted his head to the side slightly and gave her another smile from the side of his mouth, “That’s alright.” He couldn’t help but look down at the little baby and smile some more she really was gorgeous.
Peter kept looking toward the building and couldn’t help but think how sad it was for this little girl if she had indeed lost her parents and hoped for her sake that she had some extended family and yet something inside was drawing Peter to the baby making him wish on the other hand that there would be no family so that he could look after her. There was just something about her which was making him get really attached and at the same time he couldn’t stop shaking his head knowing that it was stupid to get attached when she might have family who can take her in and look after her. The policeman had then approached again saying they had found a birth certificate that could possibly be the child’s given the birth date on it, but the child’s name was scorched through. When the policeman said they would try to track some family he nodded his head and watched as he went off again to do that.
Peter had then turned to the woman and mentioned that it would be very sad if there was no other family to speak of and the woman agreed with him saying that it was very sad what with the child only being a couple of weeks old. Peter nodded his head and then added that if it was the case he couldn’t abandon the baby and he saw the woman giving him a smile. Peter had then moved one of his hands so that he could introduce himself to the woman and she took his hand shaking it and he soon found out that her name was Lena Foster. He gave her a warm smile, “You have a lovely name Lena, lovely name for a lovely woman, you are a true ‘Bella Donna!’” Peter said his Italian charm coming out in him slightly and using his typical Italian phrase which was ‘Beautiful Woman’ in English. Lena had then carried on talking saying how it was the sweetest thing and how could he abandon her as she was just the precious bundle indeed.
Peter smiled down at the baby in his arms again, “Yes she is a precious bundle and I don’t think anybody could abandon her in all honesty.” Well who in their right mind would find a baby girl in the rubble of a smoking and collapsed building who may have no other relatives and just walk away from her? It would take a very cold hearted person to do that in Peter’s eyes. Peter had then said he was going to call her Miracle, not that it was a regular name for a child, but due to the circumstances he just felt that it fit. He saw Lena tilt her head slightly as if she was thinking about the name he had mentioned. She then looked at him and said that it was an interesting name but did fit the circumstances. He smiled warmly at her, “Well that’s exactly what I was thinking.” He knew some people would maybe think it a silly name for a child, but then you had girls called Hope and Destiny and Faith, what was so wrong with the name Miracle when it stood for everything she was?
Peter had then said that he guessed he shouldn’t get too attached though and Lena shrugged her shoulders slightly and then said maybe, but how could we not get attached to her. Peter picked up on the word ‘we’ right away and wondered what Lena meant by that although it wasn’t bothering him in the slightest, despite the tragedy of the building, maybe the day was set for miracles between the baby surviving the collapsed building at all odds and this beautiful woman approaching him and talking to him in such a friendly way it was almost as if they had known each other for years. Peter had then noticed that the baby snuggled into his chest and fell asleep and Lena soon commented on that saying she thought the baby was getting attached to him already. Peter chuckled lightly, “It looks like it.” He then bent his head down and kissed the top of the baby’s head and whispered, “Don’t you worry little one, you won’t be left alone.”
Peter then watched as the firemen leaving the building and going toward their truck which made Lena comment that she guessed they hadn’t found any other survivors. Peter shook his head, “It doesn’t look like it, it’s very sad. If I had only had the ability of precognition I may have been able to have saved everyone.” Peter then realised what he had said, and then he gave her a weak smile knowing he would have to tell her about his powers, “I’m an Evolved Human, not sure if you’ve heard of us or not, but I have Power Mimicry, and I’ve been able to retain a few different abilities to date, but precognition is one I sadly haven’t got yet, or else I could have saved everyone in that building before the building collapsed.” He sighed then, he hated not being able to be the true hero, it was deeply set within him.
Lena then spoke again suggesting that the child might have an ability which could explain why she wasn’t hurt. Peter shrugged his shoulder slightly but gave her a warm smile, “It’s possible, although sometimes they do say that babies are very resilient to things, so who knows.” However it would be interesting to find that out as the baby got older and then he mentally shook his head for thinking like that when he might not be the one to see her getting older, although as he looked back down at her again, he truly hoped that he would be the one to see her getting older.

When introductions were done, Peter said that she had a lovely name, and then spoke in Italian. She tilted her head slightly, smiling all the more, hoping she wouldn't blush, though didn't feel her face warm at all. "Why thank you Mr. Petrelli. Do you use that line for all the girls?" Lena couldn't help but giggle at what she said, shaking her head slightly. It seemed she was now flirting with the man who saved the only person who survived a horrific fire.
When Lena said that the baby was a precious bundle, Peter agreed with her, adding that he didn't think that anybody could abandon her. She nodded in agreement, as she knew she couldn't do that. She was just too nice sometimes for her own good. After Peter said that he was going to call the baby, Miracle, Lena tilted her head a little, thinking about it, then commented on how it was an interesting name, but it did fit the circumstances. Lena smiled back at him, when he said that that was what he was thinking. It was going to be a name that would never be forgotten, that was for sure.
After Peter made the comment of him not getting too attached, Lena had said how could they not get attached to her. She knew what she had said, and it didn't matter. They were complete strangers who happened to be falling for a little baby together. But she felt that he was very much easy to talk to, so that was a good thing, because if he had been a complete asshole, then it would have been a completely different situation. Lena had then commented on how the baby looked to be getting attached to him, as it snuggled into him. Peter said that it looked like it, and she smiled a little, as she watched Peter kiss the top of the baby's head. She couldn't quite hear what he said to the baby, but she knew whatever it was it was sweet.
As the firemen exited the building, Lena had made an assessment of them not finding any other survivors. She looked out at the devastation, and then heard Peter talk, and then he spoke of basically wishing that he had the ability of precognition. Lena turned around, and then looked at him, raising her eyebrows a little. He then told her that he was an Evolved Human, which made her nod. Lena nodded some more, "I am aware of Evolved Humans. Known a couple of people like yourself, though not with your ability. I myself don't have an ability, unless you count being a witch one." She gave him a smile, wondering if that would scare him off, like it did with some guys.
Lena had then suggested that maybe the baby had an ability, as it could explain whey she didn't get hurt. She listened to what Peter said in reply, wondering if he was right maybe. "Maybe. But really, she looks to be perfectly fine. I don't know alot about Evolved Humans, and what abilities are out there. I am sure there is something that might revolve around not being able to be physically hurt or something." Lena knew she was getting way over her head with this one, as her only knowledge was of her own Wiccan abilities.

When Peter had said Lena had a lovely name adding that it was a lovely name for a lovely woman and then spoke in Italian saying ‘Bella Donna’, which meant ‘Beautiful Woman’ he saw Lena tilt her head slightly and smiling at him and then she spoke thanking him as she called him Mr. Petrelli and then asked if he used that on all the girls and then she giggled. He gave her one of his infamous smiles that went up more at one side than the other shaking his head, “Actually I don’t, only to the women I find truly beautiful which I find you to be.” He replied chuckling slightly and giving her all of his charm which always came flooding out of Peter without him even trying, it was just natural for him to be like that.
After Peter has spoken about calling the baby Miracle even though right now she technically wasn’t his, it would appear by the name being scorched out that she had no name to speak of anyway, so why not give her one? Then Lena had made the comment about it fitting the circumstances and as he had replied saying that’s what he had been thinking he saw her smile at him and it made him think that she liked the name and then he wondered why he was worried about whether she liked the name or not, it wasn’t as if they were a couple or anything, they had only just met. He shook his head of the thoughts but couldn’t deny that he might be just a little attracted to her.
When Lena had made the comment about how could they not get attached to the baby it had got him wondering why she had said the word ‘we’ and then realised that he didn’t really care as it would seem to Peter that both of them were falling for the infant and as he glanced to Lena he couldn’t help but then wonder if they would fall for each other as well. Then he again mentally slapped himself, why was his head running around with these thoughts? Then after his comment about not getting attached Lena had pointed out the baby seemed to be getting attached to him. He had replied saying that it looked like it and then had kissed the baby on the head saying that she wasn’t going to be alone.
Once the firemen had left the building and it didn’t look like there were any other survivors Peter had mentioned that he wished he had the ability of precognition as he could have got everyone out of the building before it collapsed. Then realising what he had said he told Lena about being an Evolved Human and having the ability of Power Mimicry. He saw her nod her head acknowledging the words Evolved Human so he knew that meant she had heard of them. Then Lena began to speak basically confirming what he had thought and that she had heard of Evolved Humans and that she had known a couple of people with one, then added that she didn’t have an ability unless you counted being a witch one.
Peter raised his eyebrows slightly at what she said but not freaking out, he had heard of witches but had never met one. Then he chuckled slightly as he remember that sometimes he had called his mother a witch but it had never been in the nicest terms and now his mother dead. “Well I’ve never known a witch before, so it’s a first for me. You might have to show me a few pieces of magic then.” He winked at her chuckling again slightly feeling that already there seemed to be some sort of rapport building between the both of them if he wasn’t mistaken.
Lena then spoke some more about the baby having a possible ability and Peter began to nod his head knowing that what she was saying was true. “Well there are a couple of possibilities at least, she might have Impenetrable Skin, where basically nothing can break you, it’s like wearing a constant concrete suit of armour, or she could have some sort of shield ability, something that comes into play when she’s put in harm’s way or something.” Peter explained what with him knowing just a little more about Evolved Human’s and their possible abilities.
Just then the policeman from earlier was approaching them both again and seemed to be looking a little sad and he was shaking his head. Peter didn’t need the man to tell him anything he already knew by the look on his face what he was going to tell them. “I’m terribly sorry but my men haven’t been able to get anywhere with the names on the birth certificate, it would seem that both of the parents had no siblings and both set of grandparents are dead as well, basically the child has nobody to call family. I am sure there may be like aunts or uncles of the parents but they’re never as easy to track down, we’ve basically lost any trace of family after finding out the grandparents are dead. You said before you were happy to keep the child and look after her, is that still the case?” Peter just nodded his head giving the policeman a smile, “Yes, I am more than happy to take her in and look after her.”
The policeman gave Peter’s shoulder a squeeze again before saying, “That’s great, naturally we will have to give at least a couple of weeks for any family members we haven’t been able to track down to make a claim on the child, but if we do not hear anything in that time and you’re still happy to have the child, I can put forward an adoption for you sir.” Peter nodded his head and with that he took off as he and the firemen and policemen began to leave the scene once the building had been blocked off for nobody to get into.
Peter turned to Lena then and gave her a smile, “Well it looks like she’s all ours for now.” He said not even realising he had said the word ‘ours’ and then he began to think that he was going to have to get things in for the baby as he had absolutely nothing. No baby food, nothing for a baby, well it was hardly surprising, it’s not every day you waken up a single man and a few hours later become a temporary daddy who might become a permanent one. “For all I know she might need a feed or diaper change soon, do you fancy coming to the shops with me to try and stock in on some emergency baby items?” He gave her a grin, not that he didn’t think he could do it alone, but she was a woman who seemed as interested in the baby girl as he was, so why not get some help from Lena.

Lena giggled more like an awkward school girl, when Peter said that he only called the women that when he found them truly beautiful, which he found her to be. Well maybe she was wrong about love being lost on men, maybe she had found one that it was taking them over, in a good way. Lena had been looking for a guy who would sweep her off her feet. Could this guy be the guy she had been lookig for?
After Lena said that she hadn't any abilities like an Evolved Human, unless you count being a witch one, she saw him raise his eyebrows a little. Maybe he doesn't like witches, or maybe didn't think I could be one, thought Lena. Then he chuckled a little, which made her wonder if she should just leave now. Lena began to frown a little, but then listened to what he said, which made her relax a little. She then felt a smile spread across her lips, "Well I won't mind doing that. Haven't had a chance to do a lot of practicing lately, so it will be nice to have someone to show it to rather than doing it alone." Thinking of how hectic the week had been was crawling back into her mind, and then shook it from her head. She didn't want another headache to ruin her weekend.
After Lena suggested that maybe the baby had a possible ability, talking about it more, Peter nodded in acknowledgement. He then put out a few suggestions of what it could be. Lena had no idea what sorts there were, and took in the possibilities, wondering which one it was. "Well, whichever it is, it will be cool to find out what it is. Though for me I can do one of those things." She knew she might have to show him the shield spell, that one she had mastered a few months earlier.
The policeman came back over to speak to them, and the look he was giving made Lena's heart feel heavy. Hearing that they couldn't get anywhere with the names, made Lena feel really sad, and looking at the baby, she could feel tears sting her eyes. She just felt terrible. This beautiful baby had no family to call her own, and that just made her feel even more terrible. Lena wiped at her eyes, turning away, feeling like she couldn't face anyone. This is what happens when you can be very sensitive towards these sort of situations.
Lena then heard the policeman ask Peter if he was still okay to look after the baby. She felt like she was okay now, and turned around to hear what he said. Lena smiled at the baby, thinking that she will have at least someone caring to look after her. The policeman spoke more, and then left him and Lena at the scene of the fire. It was all blocked off, so that no one was able to enter, which was a good thing, but Lena kept looking at the devastation of it all, and it made her sad.
Peter then looked at Lena, and gave her a smile. She tried to give him a smile back, as he spoke of the baby being all theirs for now. "Well at least she is with people who will look after her properly, though not sure how good I will be." Lena had no idea if Peter had a clue of what to do, but she supposed that he would look at her for knowing what to do, which she guessed right as he spoke more. "She probably will need those things." Lena knew she was free for the day, so nodded. "I can come and help. And I guess I should know what to look for." She hadn't meant to sound like that, but normally women knew what babies or children needed, so she hoped that she could put herself to good use.
"Why don't we head down to the supermarket down the end of this street. They will have most or all of what we need for a couple of days at least." Lena pointed in the direction of the supermarket, and hoped she was right as she had never really looked for baby items before, only whatever she needed herself. On the walk there, which was only a short walk, Lena thought she might as well make some small talk. "So, Peter, what do you do?"

After Lena had told Peter that she was a witch he had chuckled slightly when he had remembered that he had called his mother that on a few occasions and realising that Lena might have thought he was laughing at her he felt he should explain. “Sorry, I wasn’t laughing at you and what you said you are, I just...” He trailed off running a free hand through his hair and continued, “...had a bad habit of calling my mother a witch when she was well... it doesn’t matter she’s no longer with us.” He actually didn’t know why he had just told Lena that, it was like personal information, but somehow he felt he could tell her and it had come out so easily as well. He had then said that he hadn’t known a witch before and she should show him some pieces of magic winking and chuckling at her. When he saw that smile he smiled back at her loving her smile and then she replied saying that she wouldn’t mind doing that adding that she hadn’t a chance to practice recently and how it would be nice to have someone to show it to. Peter smiled all the more, “Well, I will be only too glad to see you perform some magic, can’t wait to see what you can do to be honest.”
When the policeman had come back over to Peter explaining that they couldn’t get anywhere with the names he glanced at Lena and could see how sad she was for the baby. Well Peter felt the exact same way but he wasn’t the type of person to leave the baby stranded, he had already grown attached to her in the short space of time since retrieving her from the rubble that he couldn’t give up on her now. Peter soon saw that Lena had tears in her eyes and then she had turned away. Peter was quite an emotional guy as well, and seeing how upset Lena was over it only fuelled his own emotions even more. He could feel tears sting at his eyes as well. Once the policeman had asked Peter if he was still able to look after the baby and he had said yes, he had said that if nobody made a claim on the child in a two week period that he would put forward an adoption for Peter. He looked down at the baby in his arms and couldn’t help but feel a sudden rush of love for her his little Miracle.
Peter had then looked at Lena and remarked that the baby was all theirs for now and Lena replied saying that at least she was with people who would look after her properly adding that she didn’t know how good she would be. Peter shrugged slightly, “Well, it’s all new to me as well, so it might as well be new for both of us together.” Then Peter mentally slapped himself for what he had just said, what the hell was happening? It was as if this baby was bringing Peter and Lena together without either of them putting in any sort of effort. Peter had then asked Lena if she fancied coming with him to stock up on emergency baby items knowing that the baby might need fed or changed soon. Lena then spoke saying that she probably would need those things and that she could come and help adding that she guessed she would know what to look for. Peter gave her a small smile with a raised eyebrow, “I wasn’t asking you to come because I thought you would know what to look for, I’m asking you to come because I want the company and I’m finding myself attracted to you.”
Okay where the hell did that come from? Peter thought but then shrugged it off, this child was doing things for him with Lena, not that Peter wasn’t always a charmer he was, but even this was pretty much above the way he usually acted around females no matter how beautiful they were to him. Lena then suggested going to the supermarket at the end of the street and Peter nodded giving Lena a bright smile, “That sounds like a plan to me Lena.” Peter replied and then began to walk in the general direction of where the supermarket was. Once Peter knew if he was allowed to adopt the baby, he could get more items then, but for now it would just be emergency items, some baby milk, diapers and some more clothes, as all the ones she would have had would have been ruined in the fire. As they walked Lena then asked Peter what it was he did. He turned to her and gave her a warm smile, “I’m a paramedic and nurse at the local hospital, so as you can tell saving lives is a big thing for me. What about yourself?” Peter replied and then turned the question back to her.

"Oh, okay then," Lena said when Peter explained why he was laughing. So it seemed that he had a bad relationship with his mother, though lucky for her she wasn't like that with her own. When she had said that it would be nice to have someone to show what she could do, Peter had smiled, stating that he would be only too glad to see her perform some magic. "Okay, cool. Will have to find what time I have with my busy schedule."
When Lena said that she wasn't sure how good she would be with the baby, Peter had shrugged a little, saying that it was all new to him as well. She smiled, when he said that it might as well be new for the both of them together. "Why not. We can learn from each others mistakes, hopefully not too many." Lena giggled a little, already seeing how she might be, fumbling around, trying to help the defenseless baby. When Peter had asked her if she wanted to come with him to get some emergency baby things, she had said that the baby would probably need those things. When she said that she guessed she would know what to look for, she saw that look of Peters. She hadn't meant to be so blunt with it, but she had felt because she was a female, it was probably only right she should know.
But then Peter tried to explain what he meant, then he said something that kind of put her off guard. "Oh... um... okay then. And company is good." Hearing what he said, she then realised that maybe she was starting to get attracted to his suave way of talking and being very forward. So to cut the sudden awkwardness, Lena had suggested that they go to the supermarket at the end of the street. Peter agreed to this, giving her a bright smile, and Lena found herself smiling right back. She then walked with Peter towards the supermarket.
As they walked the short distance, Lena asked Peter what he did for a job. He soon replied, and Lena had to agree with what he said about saving lives being a big thing with him. "I am sure that you do a lot of that I am guessing." Lena smiled, then looked down for a second, thinking how it would be to do that job of his, it would be very demanding. Looking back at Peter, she decided to reply to what he asked of her. "I am a movie talent scout, slash producer. At this moment I am helping produce this big budget movie. It is hard work, especially when I get dumped with these damanding directors." She began to screw her face up, and close her hands into fists. "I just want to punch their lights out when they have a go at the actors, or me for that matter." Lena side glanced at Peter, then burst out laughing. "But I am not like that. Will never be the outspoken person ever."
Soon enough they reached the supermarket, and Lena led the way to the area she guessed had the baby things in it. She soon spotted the nappies. "Well I wonder what sort she need to get?"

After Peter had explained to Lena why he had been laughing when she told him that she was a witch she replied saying okay then and he just gave her a slight nod of his head with an acknowledging smile. Then Peter had said that he would be only too happy to see her perform some magic and he had to smile more brightly as she replied saying that she would to find the time in her busy schedule. It did make Peter wonder what she did for a living if she had a busy schedule. He would have to ask her about that later. “Well, I can’t wait for whenever that may happen to be then.” He replied giving her another smile.
When Peter had said that having a baby was new to him as well and that it might as well be new for the both of them together he saw that smile of Lena’s which made Peter smile all the more and then she spoke saying why not and added that they could learn from each other’s mistakes and hopefully they wouldn’t make many and then she giggled a little. He was finding that giggle of Lena’s very cute. “I think that’s a wonderful idea and I don’t think we’ll do that badly.” He replied and winked at her, after all as far as Peter was concerned this baby was better with the both of them making mistakes and learning as they go along than her having nobody looking out for her at all.
Peter had then asked if she wanted to come with him to help get some emergency baby items in, emergency because he didn’t want to stock up too much in case a family member did happen to come and lay claim on the child. When Lena had replied it seemed to Peter that she had gotten his reasons wrong for asking her to go with him and then he had tried to explain his reasons being very open with her without thinking how Lena would take it. When she replied her words were sort of broken which he guessed he couldn’t blame what with him just coming out with what he had said. She did add that company was good and so he gave her a weak smile, “Yes company is good but I didn’t mean to make you feel awkward by saying what I had, so I am sorry if I did, but I am not usually one to hold back the truth, it just doesn’t usually come out so fast that’s all.” He gave her his famous half smile that always creeps up at the one side of his mouth.
After that little awkward moment they had headed toward the supermarket that Lena had mentioned for them to go and as Peter smiled at her he saw her smiling back and he felt like he could relax a little bit again. As they had walked Lena had asked Peter what it was he did for a living and he had replied adding that saving lives was a big thing for him. Lena then said she was sure that he did a lot of that and gave him a smile, he smiled down at her and winked, “You could say that, I don’t like the idea of losing someone despite knowing that life gets taken away eventually unless you have the ability to self generate, which I do myself, well it’s one of the few powers that I hold.” Peter said and then realised that as long as he could regenerate that he would live forever while Lena grew old, unless she could perform some sort of charm on herself to stop that. Well if it came to it then maybe he would just have to get rid of that part of his power.
Peter had then turned her own question onto her as he had thought about asking what it was she did for a living earlier. He smiled as she replied saying that she was a movie talent scout slash producer. He raised his eyebrows slightly rather impressed, “Well, no wonder you said earlier about fitting it into your busy schedule, as I can imagine you find it very difficult to get a moment to yourself, those are two very full on jobs I should say.” Peter said and gave her a warm smile as he then looked down at baby Miracle in his arms and saw that she was asleep for now but her tiny little hand was gripping onto his shirt, which gave him a tingle inside, it was like a feeling that the baby really was bonding with him or something.
Peter then listened as Lena spoke some more about being on a big budget movie that she was helping to produce at the moment and how it was hard work especially when she got dumped with demanding directors. Peter had no idea what that could be like and gave her a slight sympathetic smile, “Well I can’t even begin to imagine what that must be like for you Lena, but I am guessing that you love your job just the same or you wouldn’t do it.” Peter replied and gave her a brighter smile this time. Lena then said she wanted to punch their lights out when they had a go at her actors or even her for that matter. This made Peter chuckle lightly, his chuckle became more of a laugh when Lena laughed out herself at what she had said. “Well I think I might be apt to punch their lights out too if they got mean with you.” Then Lena said that she wasn’t like that and would never be the outspoken person ever. He gave her a warm smile then, “Sometimes we have to take things on the chin for the sake of our jobs.”
Once they were inside the supermarket they both headed in a general direction until they reached the aisle which seemed to be for baby items and stopped at the diaper section. Lena then asked what sort she would need to get. Well the baby was fairly small and only looked as if she was only a few weeks old by the look of her, “Probably newborn to a few months I would reckon, or wait, do they go by weight or something, see I have absolutely no idea.” Peter then began to chuckle again at how ridiculous he was probably sounding.

Lena hadn't meant to sound so awkward towards what he said, but she had then said that company was good. Peter agreed with her there, and said that he didn't mean her feel awkward. As he continued to speak, Lena gave him a small smile. "It's okay. I don't think that I am used to guys being so forward. Maybe I am the kind of person who wants things like this to be said, but it never happens. So maybe it just caught me by surprise, that's all." Lena was always hoping to have the whole love thing to be easy, but she had never gotten to meet the right guy who would give it all to her. Maybe Peter was the one to do that for her.
As they headed towards the supermarket, Lena had asked Peter what he did for a living, and he told her what he did, stating that saving lives was a big thing for him. Lena had then said that she was sure he did a lot of that, and he soon said that she could say that, and that he didn't like the idea of losing people. Peter then spoke of an ability, she guessed, where you could self generate, and said that he could do that himself. Though at the end he said that was one of the few powers he had. Lena raised her eyebrows a little. "Well that might be something to tell me later I guess."
Peter than asked Lena what she did, and she told him. He raised his eyebrows, and she wondered what he was going to say. When Peter commented on what she said earlier, about fitting it into her busy schedule, she had to giggle a little. Lena nodded, "Yes they are very full on. Sometimes I don't get a break for weeks at a time. That is how demanding it can get." Maybe that is why I don't ever have time for a social life, thought Lena.
After Lena rambled about what she was working on right now, Peter said that he couldn't imagine what that was like for her, adding that he guessed she loved her job just the same, or she wouldn't do it. "I think so. I love my job very much, and get to meet some wonderful people, and I guess some not so wonderful people as well." She shook her head, thinking of all the annoying or downright pains in the necks she had to deal with sometimes, or follow direction from. Lena had then said that she wanted to punch their lights out, refering to the directors, when they had a go at the actors or at her. Peter chuckled, then joined her in the laughter, and said that he would be apt to punching their lights out too, if they got mean with her. "Well I will allow that." Lena smiled, then added that she wasn't like that, and would never be the outspoken person ever. She had to nod and agree with what Peter said. "I guess so."
When they got into the supermarket, and Lena headed towards where the baby things were, she stopped at where the nappies were and asked Peter what sort the baby would need to get. He soon said that she would need either newborn to a few months old. But then Peter said did they go by weight or something. Lena gave him a small smile, when he said he had absolutely no idea. "Well I think we should get new born ones then. If they are wrong, we can just come back." Lena reached to obtain a packet, then headed down the aisle, and spotted a trolley that was free, which she took, and placed the nappies in there. She soon saw things like bottles, formula and powders. There was so much that a baby needed it was probably all needed now for Miracle, despite it only maybe being an emergency.
Lena quickly had a look at the different styles and sizes of the bottles, and she just grabbed one of each size, ending up with four bottles. She then looked at the formula, and saw one for a month old, so Lena took that, then quickly grabbed a couple of different brands. She looked at Peter, "I don't know which one is the best, so we should try all of them I guess."

{ooc - bloody hell I feel so bad this took me so long}
After Peter said he hadn’t meant to make Lena feel awkward she replied saying it was okay and then went into a bit of an explanation telling him that maybe she had always wanted those things said to her but it never usually happens. Peter side glanced to her with his smile creeping up at one side. He had always been told he was a bit of a smooth talker and charmer but that was because he liked women but he generally didn’t chat them up unless he was feeling something for them. Somehow he had felt something luring him to Lena which was why his charms had come out in full force with Lena. “Well, hopefully it is a nice surprise, if I’m allowed to say so.” Peter said and gave her a warm smile and followed it through with a wink.
As Peter spoke more about not liking the idea of losing someone despite knowing that life gets taken away eventually unless you held the power to regenerate which he did himself adding that it was one of the few powers he held, he saw Lena raise her eyebrows and then she replied saying that it might be something to tell her later. He smiled brightly at her, “I don’t see why not Lena, maybe once we get this little one settled for the evening I can spend more time talking to you about my powers.” Peter didn’t hold that many but he held enough and some of them fairly interesting and most of them very useful.
After Peter had asked Lena about her job he could understand her earlier statement when she had spoken of fitting it into her busy schedule. He had commented on this and had to chuckle along with Lena as she giggled after telling him that it was full on and didn’t get a break for weeks at a time. He couldn’t help but to play with her slightly by saying the next thing in a very teasing voice, “Ah, well all work and no play makes Miss Lena a very dull young woman.” He chuckled again and then winked at her before adding, “Maybe Miss Lena would allow me to make it less dull from time to time?” Peter didn’t know whether he was naturally attracted to her this fast or if it was the magic of the baby he had saved but he found he didn’t care what it was, he was finding Lena very easy to talk to and tease and he most definitely couldn’t deny there was an attraction there.
When they spoke some more about Lena’s job Peter had said that he guessed she must like it or she wouldn’t do it. He had to smile at her response and when she spoke of meeting some not so wonderful people Peter felt his protective heroic side coming out in him, “Well just send the not so wonderful people my way next time, I’m sure I might be able to put them in their place in the nicest way possible of course.” He winked at her and then chuckled. He couldn’t see how anybody could mean to Lena she was too adorable, but he knew that quite often stood for nothing when it came to your place of work. When Peter had laughed along with Lena and said that he would be apt to punch their lights out too for being mean to Lena she replied saying that she would allow that. Peter chuckled and then replied saying, “Awesome, I will be sure to put all my emotional charge into it when it comes to it.” He winked at her again, something which was coming easy, but then it always did when he was attracted to someone. He then realised that he had just confirmed to himself that he was indeed attracted to Lena.
Once they were in the supermarket and Lena had asked about what diapers the baby would need Peter had tried to reply and then basically said he had no idea. Lena then said that they should get diapers for newborn and if they were wrong they could bring them back. Peter smiled warmly at her, “That sounds like a good idea to me.” Peter then followed Lena as she then moved along and grabbed a trolley putting the diapers in there and soon enough she was making a grab for different bottles in different sizes and then she seemed to make a grab for some milk formula and got a few different brands, she then spoke to Peter saying that she didn’t know which one was the best so should try all of them. Peter nodded his head, “Well I am sure we will find out soon enough what she likes and doesn’t like if she refuses to take a certain brand. It makes me wonder if the mother had been breastfeeding her, so trying to get her to take a bottle might be difficult.” Peter hadn’t thought about that, but there would be nothing they could do about helping the baby if she had been breastfed.
“Hopefully if she was, she’ll get used to the powder milk soon enough.” He said and shrugged slightly, he hoped she would get used to it. He then looked down at her in his arms and saw that she was still asleep and every single time he looked down at his little Miracle he kept getting these rushes of love for her and already something inside was hoping that nobody would put a claim on the child. “I know that I will have to get a cot and a pram as well as other bits and pieces, but I am a bit reluctant to go to the extremes of a cot and a pram until I know for sure I can adopt her you know? Do you think when it comes to sleeping at night she’d be safe enough in the double bed next to me?” He asked Lena although he figured it would depend on where he was sleeping and where Miracle was sleeping, there was no way he would want to roll over on top of her and obviously he wouldn’t want her moving about and rolling off the bed.
“Actually, maybe getting a cot wouldn’t be such a bad idea, if somebody claims her, well I can always keep it for when I might be blessed with a child of my own, even if I am already getting very attached to this little one.”

After Lena had said that maybe she had always wanted the things that he had said to be said to her, but it never happened, Peter gave her a smile, which made her smile back at. He then said that hopefully it was a nice surprise, if he was allowed to say so. Lena nodded a little, "Yes, you are allowed to say so." She looked away, wondering if Peter might be the type of guy who would have the complete package she had always hoped for.
Lena had then suggested, in a way, that he could show her his abilities leter. Peter had then smiled, saying that he couldn't see why not, and then suggested that after the baby was settled for the evening, he could spend more time talking ot her about his powers. Lena smiled, "That would be nice. It would like getting to know that part of you more." Lena couldn't wait to see what he was able to do with whatever his abilities were. She wondered if she could do them to, with the help of a little magic.
Hearing Peter say 'all work and no polay makes Miss Lena a very dull woman', made her giggled a little. She was going to speak, but Peter asked her if he could be allowed to make her life less dull from time to time. Lena couldn't help but give him a big smile, "Well, I think I might just have to allow that as well." Lena couldn't help just just say yes to Peter, and she wondered if she should be worried. But then Lena thought, no, I have nothing to worry about.
After Lena spoke of meeting not so wonderful people, Peter told her to send them his way next time, and he might be able to put them in their place in the nicest possible way. Lena giggled, "I will remember that. And I am sure you would." She could kind of visualise it now. Lena sent the terribly annoying director to Peter, who would punch his lights out. That thought made her smile a little. Someone there to protect her. When he said that he would make sure he put all of his emotional charge into punching the people out, in regard to the people that Lena saw as being mean, Lena smiled at him. "Well, I won't mind that at all. Save me a seat in the front row."
After nappies were chosen, Lena went straight down the aisle to the bottles, taking a few different sizes, then eyed off the different types of formula. She then suggested that they just take them all to try. Peter acknowledged that, and said that they would soon find out what the baby liked, and doesn't like. He then added that he wondered if the baby's mother had been breastfeeding her, so trying the bottle might be difficult. Lena knew he had a point there. "Well I unfortunately am not in the position to breast feed her, so I guess we might as well start her off with the new born forumula first, when we leave here." Lena smirked a bit, thinking about what she just said.
Peter than said that if she had been breast fed, then she get used to the powdered milk soon enough. "I hope so, cause I am not going to give her a go on mine." Lena left her mouth open. "I'm sorry, that was very much uncalled for. I am never like this." She felt her face flush a little. Peter than said that he will have to get a cot and a pram as well as other bits and pieces. Lena nodded, but then Peter added that he was a bit reluctant to get them until he knew for sure that he could adopt her. Well he had a point, but really there was only so much you could do, when you had to carry the baby around in your arms.
Peter then asked her if the baby would be safe enough in a double bed next to him. She raised her eyebrows, and wondered what the hell he was thinking. "You have to be kidding Peter." He then said that getting a cot wouldn't be such a bad idea. She let out a breath, wondering what was going through his head when he thought it was safe to share a bed with a baby. "Yes it would be a good idea to get them. And you could keep it as you paid for them, when you buy the things." Hearing him say just only seconds before that he could keep the cot and pram for when he had a child of his own, she wondered what he was thinking in regards to that.
"Well I can tell that you are getting attached, and maybe she is as well." Lena leaned in and looked at baby Miracle. "She is very adorable." She kept looking at the baby, then moved her eyes up to look at Peter, where she was only inches away from his face. Lena quickly stood up straight and went straight over to the trolley. "Okay, what else do we need?"

When Peter had said to Lena he hoped it was a nice surprise if he was allowed to say so he saw Lena nod her head a little and then she replied saying that yes he was allowed to say so and then she looked away from him. Peter couldn’t help but allow a warm smile to spread over his face and as he side glanced to Lena he also couldn’t help but wonder if Lena might be the one for him. However he didn’t want to get too ahead of himself as he had thought that Becca was the one and look what happened, she just upped and left him with no warning and no note of goodbye. Peter had to go to extreme lengths to get his marriage to Becca annulled.
Peter had then suggested that once the baby was settled for the evening, although he knew that he would have to be up during the night but that wasn’t bothering him at all, he knew he would have to get in touch with his place of work to tell them about the baby so that they could excuse him for a while, he had then said to Lena that he could talk to her more about his powers. Lena had smiled and then replied saying it would be nice adding that she would like getting to know that part of him more. He smiled down at her with his head tilted to the side slightly and winked, “Well that’s settled then.”
Peter had to chuckle as he heard Lena giggle at his statement about all work and no play making Miss Lena a dull woman, but he had then added to that asking her if he could be allowed to make it less dull from time to time. He soon saw that big smile of hers and he sensed that the answer might very well be a yes which made him smile more and wink at her again and then she replied saying that she thinks she might have to allow that as well. “Wonderful, I know that I will look forward to that very much.” He replied and gave her another warm smile. Yes it could be that Peter was falling for Lena and yet a part of him was still trying to hold back not wanting to be hurt again.
It would seem that Peter had a way of making Lena giggle as he heard her do the same thing again after he told her to send the not so wonderful people his way and he would put them in their place in the nicest way possible. Lena replied saying she would remember that and that she was sure he would. He just chuckled in response knowing that he most definitely would. Peter had to chuckle again when Lena said that he was to save a seat in the front row when he put all his emotional charge into punching their lights out in regards to people being mean to Lena. “I’m sure that can be arranged.” Peter replied and chuckled some more. He was definitely enjoying the banter and rapport that seemed to be happening between Lena and his self.
When they had reached the milk formulas Peter had mentioned if maybe the mother had been breastfeeding and that trying a bottle with the baby might be difficult although he knew that he would have to persevere with it and the baby would hopefully get used to it soon enough. Lena had then replied saying that unfortunately she was not in the position to breastfeed her adding that they start off with the newborn formula first when they leave. Peter couldn’t help the next few words that came out of his mouth in reply to what Lena said, “Do you think you would have liked to have been in the position to be able to breastfeed her?” Then he realised how that might have sounded, “I mean have you ever felt maternal at all?” He figured that milk was milk and if the baby was really hungry they would take it regardless.
When Peter had then said that hopefully the baby would get used to the powdered milk soon enough even if she had been breastfed if he had taken a sip of a drink he would surely have choked at what Lena had said next. Then Lena’s mouth remained open for a short moment before she then apologised saying it was uncalled for. Peter just began to chuckle a little, “It’s alright, I admit it took me by surprise and I guess any other guy would have had a comeback for that, but I don’t. “ He just chuckled some more and shook his head slightly just imagining how that scene could have gone if it had been Lena with any other man.
Peter had then mentioned about getting a pram and a cot but had almost shown his reluctance until he knew for sure he could adopt the baby but had then crazily suggested about the baby sleeping in his bed with him, but he had known the minute he had suggested it how ridiculous it had sounded. He was about to say as much when Lena had replied asking him if he was kidding. “Yeah, I wasn’t thinking it through right the soon as I said it I knew how bad it sounded.” Peter said with a slight frown feeling foolish for what he had said. He then said that it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to get a pram and a cot anyway and that he could just keep them for when he was blessed with a child of his own if Miracle was claimed by someone. Lena basically agreed with him saying it was a good idea and how he could keep them as he would have paid for them. “Well, you never know when I may need to use them again even if I don’t get to keep this little one.” Peter said in a soft voice as he looked down at the baby in his arms again knowing that if he were to have her for some time yet that he couldn’t physically carry her around in his arms everywhere all the time.
Lena soon spoke saying she could tell he was getting attached and that maybe the baby was as well. “I hope so, in a way I’m kind of hoping that nobody does step forward and claim her as I can feel that I will be heartbroken if I have to give her over to someone else.” He did wonder if it was bad of him to think like that, he knew a part of him would be happy that the child still had family members to look after her and raise her but he also knew a part of him now, wouldn’t want to let go of her. He then watched as Lena leant in and soon spoke saying that the baby was adorable. Peter looked down and smiled, “Yes she is.” He replied agreeing with Lena. Peter kept watching as Lena continued to look at baby Miracle and soon her eyes shifted up to look at him and he could see how close they were and for a brief second he was so tempted to just kiss her but he stopped himself, he just had this feeling doing that would chase Lena away somehow and he didn’t want that.
He then watched as Lena stood up straight and then went toward the trolley asking what else they needed to get. Well they had the diapers, the bottles and the formula; those were probably the real bare necessities in this situation. “I uhm, guess we should maybe get some baby clothes, she can’t wear what she’s wearing all the time. I think we should probably try and get a pram and a cot while we’re at it however I know that we won’t get those in the supermarket. Are you available for another trip to one of the baby stores that stock those items?” He asked Lena with a smile, he didn’t care how much money he would have to spend as he looked down at the little bundle in his arms whether he could keep her or not he knew that every single cent he spent on her would be worth it.
