5th November 2008
Rosie had come to New York in the hope of catching up with her brother, it had been a while since she'd seen him and after the hassle of the other night in Vegas Rosie realised she didn't like the place that much. Too many bad people around who were just out for themselves. Of course she was thinking of that other blonde girl. Cat fights weren't Rosie's thing, but she was damn well not going to let that girl get her hands on her rockstar prey, he had been Rosie's not the other girl.
Now here she was a couple of nights later, on Guy Fawkes night of all nights in New York trying to track her brother down, she hadn't called him before hand or anything, and of course when she went to his house there had been no answer. Rosie would have to get a key for his place. Instead she had to about turn and decided to go for a walk in the area where he stayed instead.
As she was walking around, she decided to do some of that infamous 'window shopping' a lot of young women do. Stopping at one window in particular where she saw the prettiest white fur lined winter coat. She really needed a winter coat, but she didn't know if she could afford it. She went in closer to the window to try and look at the price tag, but she could hardly see it. She began to toy with the idea of going into the shop and asking, but she'd be mighty embarrassed if they came away with a price she couldn't afford.
So instead, she just kept looking at it aimlessly as if it would come out of the window and onto her body and she could just walk off with it magically. She sighed gently, "Probably wouldn't look good on me anyway" she mumbled as she was going to walk away from the window.

For hours Blanche had just been trying on outfits but she couldn't find anything she really liked. Everyone kept saying that it was nice, lovely, perfect but she felt like it just wasn't her. So Blanche just bought a lot of clothes for her brother a whole three bags. They weigh almost as much as she does, but she didn't mind buying them. Walking sporadically she tossed and tumbled. People were giving her weird stares and she returned those glances with apologetic ones.
She didn't mean to be this clumsy it was just it was hard to carry the items. Sighing as she walked down Blanche was looking at the ground before she made impact with someone in front of her. "Oh. I-I am so sorry. I'm sorry, I was just off, uh I'm sorry so sorry. Um," looking up to see that she ran into a woman she tried quickly to pick up the expensive items. There was still so many clothes that were on the ground.
"Oh my now I will have to buy him new clothes." looking at Rosie she began to dust her off. "Oh look at you let me buy you something I messed up her clothes." she pleaded her face showing sincere and sorrow mixed. Blanche didn't like to leave people thinking she was a mean person just because she was rich. That would be why she changed her name.

Rosie was so engrossed in the lovely winter coat she so desperately wanted to buy but didn't think she'd be able to afford she almost never noticed the other woman bumping into her. She looked up, she saw another woman flustering over slightly, extremely embarrassed for having bumped into Rosie.
Rosie couldn't help but laugh, as it really hadn't been anybodies fault, it was just a simple accident. Besides, Rosie had been too busy staring at the winter coat she wanted to buy, she wouldn't have seen anything come toward her.
"Really, it's fine, honestly" Rosie said softly after she stopped laughing, she touched the woman's arm with her hand. "I was so busy staring at the wonderful coat, I really wasn't paying attention" when you bumped into someone, the last thing you wanted to do was make an enemy of them Rosie thought.
She then started to fuss again as she began to dust Rosie down, this bemused Rosie somewhat, as she hadn't fallen to the ground, so she wasn't dirty, what was there to dust off. Once again Rosie began to laugh a little.
"Honestly, I'm fine, but if you'd like to go for a coffee, I'm sure that would be lovely" Rosie added with a smile, and then offered her hand, "Rosie Osborne, pleased to bump into you" she said, emphasising on the word bump and began to laugh again slightly.

When Rosie started to talk Blanche was still trying to dust her off but she insisted not to. Then she talked about a coat. She looked up at the coat, it was a nice coat Blanche stared at it hypnotically as well then shook her head. "Yes. Yes. That is a nice coat, lovely looking one," As she stood she pointed at it, "I should buy it for you." Blanche said leaning her bags against the wall and before Rosie could object against such a thing she was already inside.
Asking the teller for that coat she walked to the coat giving Rosie an awkward wave to her. Coming back out with the coat on a hanger and wrapped she held it out. "Here you are only $2000.00 not much, but I can still get coffee with you, but first I have to put the rest of the clothes back." Blanche replied. Walking just a few more feet to her car she tossed the bags inside and closed the door.
"So um, coffee." spinning on her heel and index fingers extended touching her chin. "I don't know where the coffee places are here." Blanche said giving her a nervous paranoid look.

The woman seemed intent on making it up to Rosie for bumping into her, but really Rosie hadn't been bothered about it at all. It had just been an accident after all. The next thing she knew the lady was offering to buy her the coat. Not offering, more telling her. Rosie put her hand up to her mouth, "Oh no, no, no, I can't let you do that, really....I..." but the lady had already gone into the shop.
A few moments later she was out with the coat and handed it to Rosie. Rosie was really embarrassed, especially when the lady spoke of the price. Her jaw dropped open, "Really, that's too much, you shouldn't have... really I don't know what to say..." Rosie said as she looked into the bag and fell in love with the coat.
"Thank you very much, but really you shouldn't have, I don't even know your name" Rosie prompted with a smile, hoping the lady would tell her and then she could thank her again more personally by using the lady's name.
"Yes coffee will be lovely" Rosie said again, as she waited for the lady to put her bags into her car. "Oh I can take you to a coffee place, well a little cafe really" Rosie said with a grin, as she clutched the bag firmly in her hand, feeling extremely proud for having this most wonderful expensive coat in her possession. She would still have to make it up to this lady for buying her it, somehow.

"Oh great how nice." Blanche said as she walked with Rosie. It was obvious that Rosie like the coat as she kept it really close to her. Smiling widely Blanche felt better as if she just helped someone. Well she did, she just helped someone look fabulous and warm. "So have you lived here long?" she asked. Blanche herself has been in the United States for a while for high school. But then left back to France for summer vacation.
But she has never been in New York and Blanche began to think about how Leon was doing. As the two of them walked Blanche kept trying to find things to ask Rosie. It was hard for her to start conversations to other people besides her brother. Why was she so dependent on him. "Is this cafe' a nice one?" were the only questions that Blanche could possibly say. Really her shell was cracking a little, but far from breaking.
And Blanche wanted that shell to be broken all over the ground so her wings could spread. But that was just a dream. "Dreams are lovely. Dreams are a gift. But Dreams only come true if you chase them." her mother said that.

The lady who had just bought her the most awesome coat, and most expensive item of clothing Rosie had ever owned, still hadn't given her name away. Rosie began to wonder if the lady was in some sort of hiding or something. She had already given her own name, and thought the woman would have introduced herself, and then when Rosie prompted for her name, she still hadn't given her name. Rosie decided she wasn't going to press on the subject anymore, if the woman wanted to tell Rosie her name, she would.
"Lived here pretty much my whole life, other than my odd trips away to other States" Rosie said softly with a smile, "I had just been to Vegas for a few nights, and only just came back this morning, I was looking for my brother, but he wasn't at home" Rosie explained some more with a smile.
The woman seemed nice, well she had to be nice, she'd bought her the awesome coat. "Yes this cafe is perfect" Rosie said when the woman pointed one out to them. Rosie walked in and held the door open for her. After the amount of money the woman spent on the coat, Rosie was damn sure she was going to pay for their coffee.
Finding a table near the beginning of the cafe, Rosie then asked the woman what kind of coffee she would like, before going up to the counter to order it.

Entering the cafe' Blanche smiled it was nice to sit and have a conversation with someone. When asking about her coffee Blanche replied lowly, "Just a latte with extra foam." Then hitting her out of nowhere Blanche realized many things. First she didn't even tell Rosie her name, second why is she letting this person by her coffee. Well it was probably because of the coat. A kind gesture for another kind gesture.
And also she was tapping her fingers constantly on the counter she quickly stopped by making a fist and putting them to her side. "I'm sorry I didn't realize eat all that I didn't tell you my name." Blanche replied turning to her, "Blanche Mourner, I was kinda lost in the moment of meeting a new person." she laughed a nervous laugh. The kind of laugh that you get when you aren't sure to laugh.
But the smile she gave Rosie was real and warm. "I usually don't forget questions unless I'm excited then I just forget everything." she explained

Rosie smiled when Blanche said what coffee she would like, Rosie then ordered it along with a cappucino for herself, and a few moments later she had both coffee's and set them down at the table.
"There you go" Rosie said kindly, as she shifted the bag with the coat in ever so gently to the side of her, so that she wasn't sitting on it, but it wasn't in perfect view of anybody who was likely to steal it from her.
Rosie waved her off with her hand shaking her head, "Oh no it's alright, these things happen" Rosie said as kindly as she could, many a time she'd been so excited she'd forgotten to answer somebody something. So Rosie knew only too well what it could be like.
"Well, I think that's rather sweet to be honest" Rosie said, when Blanche as she now knew her name said she was a bit excited about meeting someone new. "Well it's lovely to meet you Blanche, and thank you so very much again for the wonderful coat, I really feel overwhelmed by your kind gesture, I'm afraid I'll never be able to return the same sort of gesture back to you" Rosie rambled slightly, but everything said with meaning and a warm smile.
"Oh excitement can do the strangest things" Rosie agreed, laughing slightly, the woman was very kind, and Rosie was beginning to wonder if she might just be able to make a nice new friend out of this little venture.

"Oh don't worry about paying me back anything. It isn't expensive to me I find it cheap actually" She slowly sipped her latte and smiled at Rosie, "Yes I get really excited a lot since I moved back to the U.S. from France." she explained. Staring down at the cup she frowned at it, "So how are you doing?" asking kindly with an innocent voice.
Seating across from Rosie it was just so nice to talk to someone else. She just felt so lonely it was easy to talk to Leon, but it was just not right. She needed some outside friends and not one who is a man. Girlfriends. But would this one be a good friend?

Rosie's eyes opened wide when Blanche said that the coats cost was nothing to her. Had she just bumped into some sort of super star and hadn't realised it? How embarrassing would that be, if she was someone famous and Rosie hadn't recognised her.
"Oh!" Rosie exclaimed, and then stumbled to find the right words to continue at that moment, as she swallowed a few times, searching desperately to see if she could recognise the lady at all, but Rosie had to finally admit she was lost. She couldn't figure out who it was for the life of her. Then Rosie, couldn't help but ask, although she was scared of the answer, "Are you like a rich movie star or something and I am being terribly ignorant at not recognising you or something?" she stammered slightly, biting down on her lip. She'd feel terrible if it should be she should have known her.
"Oh, are you originally from France then? Or were just on holiday there or working there?" Rosie asked, interested to know more about this fascinating woman.
"Oh, I'm fine" Rosie began, when she was asked how she was, "Just finding myself at a loose end and was desperate to get in touch with my brother, but it seems he has gone somewhere and not lifted his cell phone" she added, she missed her brother Tony, and for all she knew Jake was dead, as they'd never seen him or heard from him in a long time.

When asking if she was a superstar or actress Blanche could do nothing but laugh. "I am nothing of that sort. I'm just an heiress. Nothing special at all, but I'm trying to make my own life by selling novels." she explained, "My real name is Leonie Isabella Aurora Matheson-Thorndale. Whew. It is kinda a breathe full from Blanche Malice Mourner." It was nice to talk it was just so releasing. Now taking another few sips.
Looking back up at the other question she nodded her head. "I am originally from France born there then moved her so I can became a citizen." She looked back up at Rosie, "I have a brother as well, but we rarely see each other at the same time. He is never home when I'm home. Always working, funny though I don't know where he works though."
Once again she took a sip of the hot latte it was way better than the cold winter air. And then she thought of her brother, it was so lonely not seeing him. Even if they did live in the same house they might as well not be in the same time zone. It was sort of depressing to Blanche. Being alone in a house. Just her.

Rosie couldn't believe she'd got it so wrong when Blanche told her she wasn't a superstar or actress. Rosie found herself blushing again, something she seemed to be doing rather a lot around this nice lady.
"Oh!" Rosie began in exclamation and began to laugh nervously, "Oh I'm terribly sorry for getting it so wrong, but I wouldn't say you aren't special, everybody is special Blanche" Rosie said warmly giving her a lovely smile. "And I think it's awesome you are trying to sell novels, then you will become famous" Rosie said grinning.
When Blanche gave Rosie her full proper name, Rosie took in a deep breath, it was rather a long name. A name fitting of Royalty, so was she Royalty if she was an heiress? She decided not to ask, because she didn't want to appear too nosy.
"That's quite a name, no wonder you find Blanche a lot easier" Rosie said and followed it with a smile.
Rosie listened carefully as Blanche continued to talk about herself. Rosie thought it was brilliant she was originally from France and moved to America. "So you're really French?" Rosie asked, "Fascinating" Rosie added and smiled, "I have brothers also, I did have four but one them died, now I just have Garrett, and Tony, Jake's been missing for a long time, everybody thinks he might be dead" Rosie said a little sadly.
Must be lonely for Blanche, Rosie thought, living with her brother but hardly seeing him. Then again, she hardly saw her brothers, they were always too busy working as well.
"Well" Rosie began, smiling, "You can always bother me when ever you want, if you're bored or need someone to talk to" Rosie added, and took another sip of her cappuccino.

"Wow that is a lot of brothers. I feel sorry for your lost." It is amazing that Rosie can take her brother's death so well. She wouldn't know what to do if Leon died. She would have most likely been a wreck for many of thousand of years. Okay maybe not that long but something like that. Either way it would have a very devesating effect on her.
She wanted to get off this subject her eyes were admiring Rosie's hair, so she decided to say what was on her mind. "You have lovely hair Rosie. It is...long." giving her a little laugh she went back to her latte, "I wanted long hair, but didn't know how it would on me since I've had short hair for the longest time." she explained. Touching her own short black hair she sighed.
"Being my in my family I have to keep my looks to perfection. And I hated it so I locked my self in my room and once cut my hair shorter than this. It was my rebellion stage. Heh. I had to wear much make-up and it wasn't good for my skin which lead to me staying in the house longer. And I had grown used to it." Her life was extremely tough style to keep up.

"Yes, it is a lot of brothers, I was the only girl in the family" Rosie began, and smiled weakly. Of course she was devastated at the loss of Harrison, but she didn't like to dwell on it. It wasn't good for her to do that. With Jake they only assumed he was dead because they hadn't heard from him in such a long time. "And thank you for your kind words, it wasn't easy, but I was very young at the time"
Rosie blushed when Blanche commented on her hair. "Thank you, I must admit I do believe my hair is one of my best features, but it can be very difficult to keep styled and keep controlled" she said grinning. "Well you never know how something is going to look until you give it a try" Rosie said laughing a little, then taking another sip of her coffee. "I've always wondered what it would be like to have short hair, but I don't think I could ever get it cut" she said honestly. She did wonder what it would be like, but what if she cut it and hated it? It would take forever to grow back again.
Rosie gave Blanche a sympathetic smile when she spoke of her family and her rebellious stage, "Sounds like you have had a bit of a tough life" Rosie said giving her an understanding smile. Rosie was finding this conversation fascinating.
