12th December 2008
There was a small flash, as Sophie appeared in the street. It was relatively busy, and no-one seemed to have noticed her arrival. She looked around, trying to work out where she was. Her hand shot down to her phone, as if she was expecting it to start to ring. Nothing happened.
Just a minute she had been in her house, sitting on her tear sodden chair. She had just tried to contact her son, sending him another text, just hoping he might by chance reply. She knew he would have enough credit on the phone, she had made sure of that, but suspected it was more likely to be out of battery than anything else. She had been heartbroken since he left, spending most of her time just sitting there, trying to figure out why. Then in her anger she had thrown a glass across the room, shattering it and ending up her. But where?
She gazed up, looking for a sign of where she had arrived at, but was unable to see one, then she started to walk, thinking maybe her son could be somewhere close.

Mohinder hated the present. He couldn't believe that he had randomly teleported to the present. He really didn't understand. How he even sent his present self to the future. He just touched him and the next thing he knew his present self had disappeared. He was feeling gulity.
He really needed help in figuring out his Space-Time Manipulation. Then again he should be able to figure it out because he had Intutitive Apitiude and Sylar said you could understand. How things worked. However, he could never figure out. He just had to try to figure it out.
He wasn't paying much attention as he walked down the streets of Mid-Town Manhattan when he randomly ran into a women. "Sorry.." He quickly apologized.

“It’s OK.” Sophie replied. She hadn’t really been looking where she was going either, and was far more interested in looking for her son. That seemed to be what she would be spending a lot of her time doing now, that was until she either found him or died. Either way that was all she would spend her time doing.
She looked at Mohinder, then sighed. It would be a while before she could figure out where she was, without appearing to be stupid, and until then she would have to try and find out, she preferred not to use her power all the time, just when she needed it.

The Indian didn't say a word as he just gave a slight nod. He was going to proceed on his way when for some reason, his gut feeling told him to stay. He decided that he would stay for a moment or two.
Mohinder gave a weak smile as he read the facial expressions of the women before him. It would seem that she was kind of lost or something. He sighed and decided to ask her a simple question: "Are you lost?" He asked with a smile.

“You could say that.” Sophie replied. “It’s more I don’t know where I am.” She smiled back at him, but it was obvious she was worried about something. She was wondering where her son was, hoping that he was still OK.
She looked down before whispering quietly. “Where are we? Which city?” She hated having to ask for any help, especially on something like this, but it was probably much better to ask now, than stay where she was, still not knowing.

"Tell me about it" Mohinder said as he shurrged his shoulder back sighing. He as he looked down at the ground and the back up to the women. She seemed to be worried. "Are you okay, you seem a bit worried" He said with a concern tone.
Mohinder raised an eyebrow as he placed his hands in his jacket pocket, "We are in Manhattan, Mid-Town to be exact" He said looking at the area. He sure hoped it was Mid-Town. It was. He could see the Petrelli Headquarters. He looked over at the women. "So where are you from?" He asked not knowing if she was from here or not.

“California. And it’s nothing really” Sophie replied, a sinking feeling in her stomach. She had basically crossed the entire country. Once she was finished her, she would need to travel back, it would be too long otherwise, and Elli wasn’t going to be here, it was way too far for him to walk.
Then again when he did leave he had been prepared, taking food, money and a map. He was a clever kid, always thinking about things properly.

California He thought to himself as he then remembered that he had left his present self in charge of finding a reason why Costa Verde blew up. Those people in congress were going to kick his ass.
He shrugged his shoulders back, "California is nice, I been used to live there" He admitted "Before my room mate blew up...." He trailed off as he was about to say Gabriel was the one that blew up Costa Verde.
He looked down at the ground, "I'm Mohinder Suresh by the way" He said as he decided to change the subject and introduce himself.

“My name’s Sophie.” Sophie replied. She hadn’t been listening completely, but had Mohinder just say he room mate ‘blew up’. She wasn’t completely sure, and hadn’t learnt of any explosions in the area.
“So, where are you from then?” she asked, trying to be polite, and not appear to be rude. She was continually fingering her phone, almost expecting it to go off any second. It was one of her flaws, and she knew it. She tended to get quite impatient when something didn’t happen immediately when she wanted it too.

“Pleasure Sophie” He said with a kind smile. He sighed as he thought about something. She seemed like someone that had an ability. He buried his face into his hands. He was having a headache. He didn’t know why, but all of sudden. His calm nature went away. He lowered his hands from his face. “Headaches, stupid abilities” He muttered to himself, hoping that she didn’t hear him.
“Depends” He said sighing “I’m originally from Chennai, India” He began “However, I lived in New York and Costa Verde, California” He said as he folded his arms. He narrowed his eyes wondering why she fingering her as if she was expecting a phone call from someone.

Sophie smiled. “I’ve always wanted to go to India.” She said, it was something she had always wanted to do really, but hadn’t despite her ability. She looked at her watch, it wasn’t that late yet, and she could just go back in time to when she left.
That was when it hit her, she could just go back in time, to when her son had left, and find out why he had left. It seemed like a good idea, one that should work.

“I wouldn’t go near India now” He said sighing “Well, I wouldn’t go near Mumbai” He added as he shook his head. He looked down at the ground as he looked down at his watch. “Well, if you excuse me I have got to work unless, you need help with anything” He said as he gave a warm smile. “The President-Elect can wait” He muttered to himself.

“No, I should be alright.” Sophie replied. She felt like she was now wasting her time, having to stand here while she could be putting her plan into action. It all seemed like it should work in her mind, that it was faultless.
There was just one thing that bothered her, had her future self tried already, if they had then maybe they had failed, or something had gone wrong. I would be a risk, but one she would be willing to take.

"Well, if that is the case then have a nice day" He said with a smile as he looked at the time. He was going to be late. Of course, if he could only figure out how to make time go by slow. He wasn't very good at that.
He frowned and looked across the street. The office buidling that he was working at was a few more blocks. He closed his eyes and thought about teleporting. He opened his eyes and noticed that the teleporting didn't work. "Argh...stupid teleporting" He said to himself. He decided that he would just walk. He waved at the women and started to walk away.
