28th November 2008
Elli slunk towards the back door, making as little noise as he could. He tipped his weight onto the handle, as it made a small squeak. That didn’t really matter; no-one was going to hear that. The door swept open as he scuttled out, ensuring no-one was watching him. He had his backpack, holding enough food to survive for a least a week, more if he ate even less. Also he had some money, not much but enough to make sure he wouldn’t be sleeping out that much.
As he stepping out into the garden he sudden moved with a new vigour. Sprinting across the grass he leapt over the fence, tearing his jeans slightly. He landed, crashing into a pile of leaves. He stood up, walking forwards. It wasn’t far now until he was on the road, and as he approached it he grasped the map he had in his pocket tightly.
Even though he didn’t really know where he was heading it felt like some sort of adventure. The cold nipped at him as he walked, but it didn’t matter much anymore, nothing did.

It was a somewhat of a good day for Garrett him and his band had done a great job. Two actually one this afternoon and the other the next morning. Right now he wanted to take a good break so he wouldn't have to stress his self out. It was great to be somewhat known, but still no of them let the fame go to there head.
Walking through it was hard not notice how cold it was. He could easily heat his self up, but decided it best not to. He would need to learn on how not to use his powers daily. Well except when his microwave didn't work. Sighing he just put his hands in his coat pocket. His head was down and wasn't paying attention to the boy as he ran into him.
"Oh man I'm sorry!" he said as he feel backwards. Shaking off the feeling of pain he stood back up and extended his hand out to help the kid.

Elli looked up at him cautiously, wondering if he should take the hand up or stand up himself. He chose the hand. “It’s OK.” He muttered, trying to check if the man was OK, he couldn’t be too sure if he had started to absorb air in the shock of falling over.
As he stood up he looked over his shoulder, looking round to check no-one was watching him. If he was honest he had no real idea why he was checking his back, he really didn’t have any reason yet. “Are you OK?” he asked quietly.

As the boy took his hand Garrett pulled him up as gently as he could anyway. It wasn't rough at all but the kid wasn't light! "Yeah I'm good." Garrett replied with a smile. He noticed that the kid was looking around very curious as if someone was following him. "Hey are you alright? Someone after you?" he asked in a worried tone.
It would be completely alright if the kid didn't tell him. Heck Garrett his self had ran from many people. Mostly from one of his many foster homes. He just hoped that the kid's reasons weren't for the same as his when he was younger.
Even with all those thoughts surrounding his mind Garrett still had his smile on his face. He didn't want to seem as if he was prying into Elli's life. They did just meet.

“It’s nothing.” Elli replied quickly, immediately after Garret had spoken. However even then he still glanced over his shoulder. However he couldn’t quite work out why he was looking, it was still a very short time since he had left the house, and he seriously doubted his parents would think he had ran off, yet.
Elli knew his face was betraying him, it was quite obvious that there was something on his mind, he just didn’t exactly feel confortable telling a complete stranger his problems, it would be stupid to get into any more bother right now.

"Alright if your sure." he said not trying to push the subject. The last thing he wanted to do was drag out problems of a teenager that is just wrong. But it was easy to tell there was something wrong with the fellow. "Well sorry 'bout the fall man." he replied sincerely.
"Well cya around maybe." he said with a wave before slowly walking off before he got a call on his cell. "Yeah...uh-huh..." sighing he just turned on his heel and once more walked pass Elli. "Band practice. You were going that way, is it alright if I keep you company?"

“Yeah, sure.” Elli replied, as he began to walk. “So, where are you going?” he asked, inquisitively. It wasn’t that he was particularly interested, but it stood a chance of getting the questions off of him. It wasn’t that he didn’t like to be asked stuff, since it meant that he didn’t need to make up stuff to talk about, but he just didn’t really want to talk about where he was going, or why right now.
He looked along the street, it really wasn’t that far from where he lived, infact he knew where he was exactly where he was right now and was fairly confident he knew where he should be going, and that surprised him, because he really had no idea at all where he should go.

"Um down to a recording studio, the band I'm in, Lycanphobia is trying to get a CD recorded but there was a mistake. So know we have to do it aaaaallll over again." he sighed the laugh as he started to shake his head. The band was a lot of trouble but it was always worth it when they get famous.
Well there is always that dream of being famous they just had to work at is. So Garrett would just have to suck it up and just do the retake. Difficult but fun he just hoped his lungs would survive it. "So what kind of music do you like?" he asked. Garrett never liked one sided conversations.

“Rock and Indy I suppose.” Elli replied, barely even thinking about his answer. He didn’t really listen to much music really, more preferring to be alone in his thoughts. He felt free then, as if he could do whatever he wanted to, think about whatever he felt like.
He looked up at the sky, almost getting caught up in his own thoughts again. He felt slightly scared by the way he was just letting his mind wander, and not concentrate on what was happening. It was one of the things he wasn’t as good at, keeping his attention on something for a long while. He looked back towards where he was going, trying to work out where he should be going.

"That's cool I like the same thing." he said with a smile. Then Garrett realized that this walk was somewhat long. And the boy kept looking around that was somewhat annoying to him. "Parents let you wander this far?" he asked. But if this was a runaway he would avoid the question.
This was totally how Garrett acted and that was scary. Since this was familiar he didn't want this kid to be lost. Or get in any type of danger.

“Not exactly.” Elli replied, trying to move on from the question. “They don’t know.” He hated having to talk about anything that would involve his parents at the minute. He didn’t trust whether or not Garret would make him go home, he didn’t want to risk anything like that.
He looked forewords, clinging onto the map in his left pocket, it was sure to be his only real source of information for the next while. He didn’t have a plan, or any idea of where to go now but he was going to go on, he had no choice anymore.

"Ah, bumper folks gotcha." he said knowing that feeling all too well. He wasn't going to push the subject any further now. As they still walked he looked at Elli and realized that he hasn't even introduced his self at all this whole time. "I'm Garrett by the way." he said with somewhat joy.
They weren't anywhere near the the studio yet. At this time he wished that he stayed with the van, but too late now. He was already walking and couldn't do anything about it. Then again he wouldn't have met this boy. Weird how the world work.

“My name’s Elli.” Elli replied, a bit more relaxed now than he had been, now somewhere on the verge of trusting Garrett a bit more. Despite this he felt a bit guilty now, about running away, even though he knew it was his only real option. He was sure his parents couldn’t understand what he could do, they probably couldn’t even believe what he could do. This was his problem, not anyone else’s .
“Where are you going then?” He asked, “I mean more specifically than just what direction.” There was a sound of interest in his voice as he asked, even though the question was just there to give him something to talk about, and keep Elli from worrying about where he was actually going to go.

"Elli interesting name." he said with a smile that seemed to never leave his face. "Oh yeah going to a recording studio to re-record our song." Garrett explained to Elli. He could understand the wanting to know where they were going.
It had to do with knowing your surroundings and making sure that he was in a safe envorioment. ANd nothing to do with being nosy or rude. Always with trust and knowing your safe. This boy was just like him a long time ago, it makes him want to go and call his sisters. "It is only a few blocks down there." he pointed it out.
"So do ya wanna stay with us for a while as we record. You are free to crash with us I'm sure there will be food." Garrett suggested.

“Might as well.” Elli replied. “I don’t really have anything better to do. Even though he knew he should probably keep moving, and maybe try and find somewhere to stay he didn’t feel like it. As he checked his watch it was only two o’clock. He would have plenty of time when he was finished to find somewhere. Also if he could get some food here, it would save what he had brought, basically sealing his decision.
He looked out towards where Garrett had pointed. I wouldn’t be that far away. He should have plenty of time afterwards.
