December 16th Maya couldn't believe it, all her abondment fears had almost vanished when she was given the keys to the new appartment with Peter Petrelli. She didn't know him entirely well, but knew that his mother Angela had been one of a kind to her - a nice lady who was willing to look after this mexican lost woman. She couldn't even begin to announce how happy she was, belonging to something that was ultimately going to be the best thing for her. Angela almost knew her without words, and that made Maya happy and wanted.
Of course, Mohinder had been away for a while, she didn't even really know where he had disappeared to, and then making the decision to move into the institution for some sort of wanted security. And then, feeling almost at home behind the bars and the glass, she hadn't expected that things had almost been planned out for her - there wasn't any alterier motives for Angela to put her in a new appartment with her son, Maya knew that he was a good man - just by the way he looked.
But then again, she had been proven wrong in the past.
Peter was out, as far as she knew. Which was prefect timing to place her things inside the newly aquired appartment and set her things up in her new room. She even managed to charm some people to help her carry her large boxes up the few flight of stars and into the elevator so she could at least drag them down the hall and into the appartment. And that's what she did, thanking the couple of men who smiled at her before heading back down the main steps of the appartment blocks and back to doing their business.
Pulling out her set of keys and opening the door she entered the freshly painted building and smiled, looking around at how pretty it was. The photos she had glanced at weeks ago, did no justice for how stunning the main living area was. It was simply, gorgeous. It left her mouth open ajar as she dropped her shoulder bag to the floor and took a few more gracious steps further into the lightly furnished room. The light was so demanding that she had to sheild her eyes from the brightness, but nevertheless, the light warmed her and she sighed with relief. Really, she hadn't anything to be anxious about, but she was always cautious about new things - having her brother always around her to tell her that it was going to be alright and that he'd be there with her - always gave her the support she needed to step into something blindly, she just continued to remember his words and voice and that was almost enough to push her over the threshold.
Maya snapped out of her urphoric feeling and turned around, there might not have been enough time to get her things in order before Peter was home, and that was going to be awkward enough to say the least. So, without hesitation, she raced back out into the hallway and collected the smaller box as she pushed the larger one with her foot into the doorway, closing it and locking it. One could never be too careful. She was pretty sure that Peter had already made himself at home, although it didn't stop her from wandering around the appartment, almost searching for her own room that she liked. There was two to choose from, one that was directly across from Peter's already madeup room, or the other was at the other end of the appartment, close to the kitchen and down the hallway. She thought that it might have been best if she was down closer to the kitchen, so then - touch wood - Peter and herself were ever to disagree, they wouldn't have to worry about the other so close to their room. Either that, or if they wanted to bring a 'special friend' home, they didn't have to listen to the murmers between the thinned walls.
Even thinking about that made her laugh and shake her head. As if she was ever going to pick up ....
Still, pushing the large box with all her clothes and carrying the smaller box with some few trinkets of her brother and family, she moved along the hall way and into the spare room, placing the small box down on the bed that was already set up and made, ready for her to just move in. It was sweet, she didn't have to pay for anything, no fridge, bed, wardrobe. It was a pretty generous deal, even if Maya hadn't agreed to do anything in return. At least there was a large built-in wardrobe, she'd then just be able to throw what little amount of clothes she had in, and then set up her picture of her brother and the few pieces of jewellery down on the small counter next to the bed. Hoping it would take her a long enough time to do it, so when Peter would come home, she'd have something to show him.

Peter Petrelli had already made himself at home. He had told his landlord that he would be giving up his lease. He decided not to tell him that he was moving to different apartment complex. He really didn’t like his landlord. He was just glad to get out of his old apartment needless to say. He was having cockroach problems and that annoyed the hell out of him.
He was afraid of one thing and that happened to be cockroaches. He tried once to kill them with induced radiation. However, he learned the hard way that cockroaches were resisted to radiation. Of course he burnt a hole in the floor and his landlord asked him how he did something like that and he had to make an excuse. His heater wasn’t working and he bought a portable heater and it fell over one night.
You could say that his landlord at his old apartment complex was an idiot. Peter just sighed as he teleported into the new apartment. He was just bringing in the last of his stuff from his old apartment. The box that was in his hand he placed on the bed and began to take out things of the box. What was in the box was a map. He placed the map on a wall and started to put string on the map. He was remaking his map that was once in his living room of his old apartment.
He just seemed he couldn’t live without the map, so that was why he put it on his wall. He smiled as he finished his completed map. He then took out some pictures and started to put some pictures on the nightstand. He had pictures of Nathan and him. He finally decided to put a picture of Gabriel and him. It was kind of crazy to place a picture of a serial killer in your room, but Gabriel was family. He knew what Gabe had done to Maya, and hoped that Maya wouldn’t mind.
He then took the box that he was unpacking and headed out of his room and flopped the box on the floor next to the apartment door. He could hear something coming from a room near the kitchen. He slowly went over to the room next to the kitchen and saw Maya. He gently knocked on the door. “Hi roomie!” He said with a slight smirk on his face. “Do you want any Breakfast?” He asked as his stomach growled.

Startled, Maya turned herself around and glanced at the friendly lopsided smile of Peter, she hadn't realized he was home and was sure she didn't see him when she poked her head in his room, but as she picked up her phone - she looked at the time and it was nearly two hours sinse she started. "Hello," she said cheerily as he greeted her. She knew instantly that this arrangement was going to be easy, he seemed like the type of person who wouldn't start a fight for the sake of it, and naturally, she was rather quiet herself - so Angela really did a good job.
"Oh, yes please... eggs?" she asked almost amazed how gracious he was offering something to eat. The time flown by and she hadn't realized that her stomach was rumbling for anything good to eat, and absently placed her hand on her stomach and looked down at her hands. Plonking her phone back on her bed she decided that her room was pretty much to her satisfaction. Her things were where she wanted them to be and there was no better time to start living. Walking over to him, she smiled excitedly as she brushed past and walked herself into the kitchen.
"I hope you do not mind me staying in d'ere?" she asked her accent slowly, but surely, starting to fade slightly. "I thought it best if I stay, privacy for de both of us." she turned around and semi walked backwards into the kitchen - just to see if he had followed her. Taking it upon herself, she headed to the large white fridge and pulled out whatever she could find. Some tomatoes, cheese and the carton of eggs and some slithers of bacon. "We almost need more food.." it was more of a question than a statement as her voice was muffled having shoved her head as far into the coolness of the fridge as she could go, digging and reaching through containers and bags to look for other things.

“Hello” He said with a warm smile. His mother actually did something right for once in her life. Peter thought to himself. This arrangement between Maya and he seemed liked it was going to work out. He just hoped he didn’t do anything to upset or angry Maya. He knew she had power, but she wasn’t sure what power that would be. He wondered, if he should perhaps ask her. He decided that he would ask her when he thought the time was right.
Peter just gave a simple smile again and nodded. “Okay” He said as he watched her place her phone on her bed. He was amazed on how her room was arranged. It would seem that her room was better arranged then his. Of course, he was just a guy and if he wanted his room would just be as if the atomic bomb went off. He remembered as a child that his room was always a mess and the maids hated cleaning his room. Because the next day he would mess it up again. He watched her walk over to him as he saw her smile excitedly. Perhaps, she was happy!? That was good. He followed her into the kitchen.
“Not at all, “He said as he folded his arms over his chest. He just laughed as she walked backwards. He could walk backwards with his eyes closed. Of course, he had an advantage. He had enhanced senses and he could hear people if he walked backwards with his eyes closed. He just followed her and leaned against the island that was located on the other side from where she was pulling out some food. He nodded when she said that they needed more food. “Perhaps we could take turns going to the grocery store?” He began “Or should we have someone assign in going to the grocery?” He asked again. He just wanted to know.

Maya smiled as she started to whisk the eggs, thinking about it, a curl of a smile formed on her lips, he was pleased that she was there and they were living together. She couldn't have been happier, for the first time in awhile, she actually found somewhere she could belong to. Raising her head, she glanced at him before paying more attention to the eggs she was making. "Maybe we could shop togeder?" she asked. She didn't really like shopping on her own, not groceries, but clothes shopping was rather fun. "If you wanted to?" she asked, stopping her whisking to glance at him with a doubt in her eyes.
Maya wouldn't mind spending more time with Peter, even though she really was just starting to get to know him and from what she saw she could tell he was going to be fun to be around - and living together was perhaps the best thing for her. Turning around, she flicked the stove on and pulled a pan out from the cupboard below, "Could you chop the tomatoes?" she asked over her shoulder to Peter. He might as well do something instead of just standing there. (arg, sorry for the lameness)

Peter gave a smile as he watched Maya whisk the eggs, he wondered what she was thinking. Of course, he could read her mind, but he wasn’t going to do that. He wasn’t that kind of person to even do that to people he didn’t know. He didn’t want to scare his new roommate that he could read minds, so he decided that he wouldn’t venture into her mind. Sometimes, people should keep their thoughts private even if there were telepaths in the room.
He then nodded, “Fair enough” He said with a smile. He didn’t mind shopping with people. He just suggested that idea. Nevertheless, he was glad to do anything with his new roommate perhaps to get to know her more. He wanted to learn more about his roommate and he hoped that he could. He then went into a draw and took a knife out and started to cut the tomatoes that Maya wanted him to chop. It was probably best for him than just standing around.

This was good, the way they were talking. It didn't feel awkward at all, Maya felt as if she could tell him anything. Well, almost. Most of that confidence had come from his mother, and perhaps that was the real reason why she felt comfortable around him. However, she did smile and nod when he accepted that they could go shopping together, and her smile grew as he started chopping the tomatoes.
"So, Peter... tell me, about yourself, yes?" she asked as she turned around and put the whisked eggs to the side, pulling another sharp knife out of the drawer and chopped some cheese as thinly as she could so then it wouldn't burn later in the pan. "You get along with your mo'der?" she asked, turning her head to the side to look at him while she continued to slice the cheese.
Maya hoped, with them living together, that they'd have more things to talk about; she liked having someone to talk to, that wasn't entirely afraid of her. Come to think of it, she wasn't even sure if he knew about the type of power she held, but, quickly pushed that thought to the back of her mind.
