25th January 2009
Claire didn't know why she was once again testing her ability, after all she'd tested it to its full potential a long time ago, to the point of knowing she could regenerate limbs. But for some reason she had the urge to test her ability again. So she found a deserted warehouse and made sure nobody was looking and hurled herself through the window of the warehouse.
As she came out the other side, she was lacerated from head to toe, with a shard of glass stuck in her side and a piece stuck in the side of her head. She pulled the shard of glasses out, and watched as the lacerations immediately healed up as did the puncture holes left by the shards of glass she had removed. She didn't know why she got a kick out of it, she just did.
She then sat on the edge of the pavement and used one of the pieces of glass to slit along her wrist but as quickly as she did it, the wound was healing back over within seconds. Only allowing the smallest amount of blood to leave the wounds.
"Is there anything I can't heal from" she said out loud to nobody in particular.

Stephen had decided that since he was now a member of a hero team, he better practice more. He had found a deserted warehouse and decided that it would be a good place, seeing as it was deserted.
Stephen noticed that one of the windows was shattered and looked around to find a woman with shards of glass in her body. Stephen was sure she was dead but she just got up and began to remove the glass. The wounds seemed to heal instantley. She then took on of the shards and slit her wrist with it. It also healed soon after she cut it.
"Nice ability you got there. Do you heal or something?" Stephen asked.
Stephen wasn't sure wheather the person would attack him or not so he tried to go through the abilities he had. Teleportation, air absorbing, and this womans ability. Not very many but it would hopefully be enough if she attacked him.

Claire startled when she heard the voice, she hadn't thought anybody was around. But since he said it was a nice ability she had, she wondered if he had an ability too. He seemed too young to be in any sort of team who was after the specials, so she figured she was safe. Unless he was a villain of course, but if he was, he probably wouldn't have spoken to her and just attacked, so once again, she figured she was safe.
"Yeah, although I didn't always think of it like this, I used to think it was a curse because I wanted so much to be normal" she said, and then looked up at him. He seemed a nice enough kid, a bit younger looking than she was she imagined. Of course Claire should really be careful what she was doing after finding out she was pregnant, what if she harmed her baby, but she began to think that if she was pretty much invincible, then the baby would hopefully be invincible too.
Looking around the warehouse to see if there was anything she could use to sever a limb to show him it in greater detail, she saw an old pair of gardening shears.
"Watch this" she said, as she then took them to her finger and cut if off and about a minute later a new finger had grown in place of the one she had just cut off. She then picked up her severed finger and threw it into a trash can, with a bit of luck nobody would go snooping through it.

The woman told Stephen that she used to think of her ability as a curse instead of a gift. She had wanted to be normal. Stephen nodded, he didn't want to lose his ability but he did think of it as a bit dangerous sometimes.
Stephen watched as the woman cut off her finger. Stephen felt a little queasy when the finger began to regrow.
"So what's the extent of your ability? How much damage can you heal from?" Stephen asked as he picked up a shard of glass as well.
Stephen made a cut from his shoulder to his elbow, wincing the whole time. The pain ended quickly as the cut disappeared, leaving only a small trace of blood. Stephen looked at his arm, amazed. This wasn't the first time he had used another persons ability but this was definitely the strangest.

Claire just smiled as the younger guy nodded when she spoke about wanting to be normal. Now Claire realised she was special, and she was actually beginning to like being special, especially when she found out there were a lot more people out there like her. It was actually Peter and West who got her to believe in herself and to believe that she wasn't a freak. A smile spread across her face as she thought about Peter and West.
Of course he then asked how much damage could she heal from, well she had done so much to herself, and been through so much and came out the other side, it was really difficult to determine if there was anything she couldn't heal from. Other than the ectopic pregnancy she had went through ten days earlier. Her healing ability didn't seem to cope with that.
"Well, I've been into a burning building, my clothes all burned and charred while my skin healed itself as I continued to walk out. I went into my old house when a guy with radio active powers went nuclear in the house to save my family and I walked out of it alive, even if I was almost down to my skeleton before everything started to regenerate" she explained. She wasn't sure if there was anything much more elaborate than that she had been through.
"I was in hospital last week however, apparently my healing ability can't cope with internal problems, such as an ectopic pregnancy, but as far as illness is concerned, I've never been ill to determine whether it would work or not" she explained some more and then watched as he too got a shard of glass and began cutting his arm and watched as it healed within seconds.
"So, you obviously don't have my power or you wouldn't have asked if I could heal, so you must have a power similar to Peter, my uncle, some sort of mimicry?" she asked him smiling at him. She didn't mind that he had managed to mimic her power. In fact it might be good to have somebody she could have a sparring match with to see how far either of them could go.

"Peter? Why do I keep hearing that name?" Stephen said, remembering Molly asking him if their team would be as good as Peter when he said he was from the future.
"Ya, I mimic abilities, but it only lasts for a day. So tommorow I won't be healing unless I meet you or another healer tommorow." Stephen explained.
Stephen thought it was cool that she seemed to b able to heal from just about anything. It would be a good ability in a fight, especially against someone with a powerful ability. It was to bad he would only have the ability for a day.

"Peter is a bit of an icon you could say" Claire began, "I didn't know he was my uncle when he saved me from Sylar, you know? The whole 'Save the Cheerleader, Save the World' deal? That was me, I'm Claire Rosen, well it was Bennet, then I adopted the name Petrelli when I found out I was a Petrelli, but now I'm married to West, so it's Claire Rosen now" Claire rambled slightly. Peter was special to her it was difficult not to talk about him really.
"Nathan, Peter's brother is my biological father, so yeah I'm the First Daughter, and one of the main reasons for choosing this deserted warehouse, I get followed pretty much by anybody, it's a wonder you don't know who I am already" she said laughing slightly, but feeling good that for once she had bumped into somebody who didn't know about her.
Claire smiled and nodded her head as he spoke about his ability some more. "I see, like short term then? A bit like Sam Beckett and the whole Quantum Leap thing?" Claire asked as she grinned at him.
"Want to hear something funny, which wasn't really funny to me at the time?" she asked with a smile.

"I haven't heard of the "Save the cheerleader, save the world" thing. I also don't know much about the Sylar guy, just that a friend of mine used to think he should rule the world." Stephen said, wishing he knew more about this stuff. Apearently Peter and Sylar were very well known by most specials.
Claire then went on to explain on how Peters brother, Nathan, was her biological father. Stephen knew who Nathan was, he was the President, but he did not know that he had a daughter, or that he was the brother of this Peter guy.
"I don't know who this Sam person is either, I've just recently discovered specials existed, but ya, it's a short term thing." Stephen said.
"What's the funny something?" Stephen asked, curious as to what Claire was going to say next.

Claire was pretty dumb founded when Stephen said he hadn't heard of the whole Cheerleader deal. He was what? Fourteen, fifteen? He must have known about it, he was old enough to know. Or so she thought. Had his parents shielded him or something. She looked at him with a slight raised eyebrow.
"You're how old? Fifteen? And you haven't heard of the Cheerleader deal or Sylar or Peter?" she asked incredulously. "Where have you been?" she asked again as she laughed slightly. She didn't mean to sound horrible or anything like that, she just thought it was crazy he hadn't heard of it all.
"Sam Beckett?" she asked, "So you haven't heard of the television show Quantum Leap then? It's an old show, but it gets repeated a lot, its quite good, all about a guy who can transform into somebody else for the day and he loses it overnight. Something like that anyway" Claire explained with a grin when he said he didn't even know who Sam was.
So he did want to hear the funny something. "Well, I have a weak spot in the back of my head, where if I get damaged there, it basically kills me until the object is removed" she began, as she grinned at him. "This one time, I fell and a tree branch lodged itself in there" and she pointed to the back of her neck, to show where it had gone. "And it killed me, I know this, because when the object was removed, I woke up in the autopsy room with my front all cut open, I could see my chest and internal organs" she explained some more and then winced as she remembered it. It wasn't a pretty sight to see, but then she followed it through with a laugh.
"So, what's your name then Mystery Boy?" she asked with a smile, wondering if he was going to introduce himself or not.

"Actually I'm thirteen, but i'll be fourteen in a few weeks. i haven't talked to that many other specials though, just a few other kids at this school I go to, and none of them seemed to want to give me a history lesson," Stephen replied.
Stephen almost laughed when she told him that Sam Beckett was a person on a TV show, he had thought it was another person with abilities.
Claire then told Stephen that she had this weak spot in her head that when stabbed, killed her untill it was taken out. Stephen didn't know how this was funny but it was definetly something Stephen would remember.
"My name is Stephen Adams." stephen replied

"Wow, really? You don't look that young" Claire said with a smile. "You look quite a bit older than thirteen" but she nodded her head as he said he hadn't met many specials and nobody had wanted to give him a history lesson. But it still confused Claire, because almost everybody, well the specials anyway, knew of saving the Cheerleader.
"Well anything you want to know, ask me, I might just be able to give you the answer" Claire replied. She didn't mean to sound smart or anything like that. Just if he wanted to know things, she might be able to fill him in.
When Stephen didn't comment on what she told him about waking up in the autopsy room, she figured he didn't find it so funny. She shrugged slightly, "I didn't find it funny as such at the time, I mean, knowing I have a weak spot, just the idea that I was lying on this autopsy table with myself cut open, anyway" she said dropping the subject, it probably wasn't really that funny after all. At least at the time it had scared the hell out of her.
"Well Stephen, pleased to meet you" Claire said giving him a grin.

Stephen nodded when she said he didn't look thirteen. He got that a lot. He wasn't really that sure if he was thirteen, seeing as he was missing some of his memories. For all he knew he could be fifteen and had lost seven years of memory instead of five.
Then Claire told him he could ask her anything and she might be able to tell him about it. Stephen decided he might try to learn more about his mother, or maybe try and find out who his dad was. He then realized she hadn't asked him if he was related to Carla or Bruce, as most people did when he told them his name, so she might not of known who they were.
"Do you know who Keith Nekawa is?" Stephen asked, deciding he might try finding out more about his new friend. He wondered if Claire knew even knew who Keith was.

When Stephen asked if he knew Keith Nekawa at all, she was thrown. That was somebody she didn't believe she had met, and she didn't know the name at all. But the more she spoke to him, and the more she looked at him, she thought he looked familiar. She wasn't sure what it was, and then she remembered his name. Stephen Adams. That was when it hit her, he looked a lot like Bruce, who was Carla's husband.
Of course Claire was once Carla's sister-in-law and just because she and Sam split up, didn't mean she still wasn't close to Carla, so she naturally knew Bruce. But she knew Bruce's only brother was James. So who could this young boy be to Bruce, if indeed he was related to him at all.
"No, I'm sorry, that's actually one name I haven't heard of at all, but I've just realised you look really like somebody I know quite well. Well, at least I know his wife quite well. You look very much like Bruce Adams, and Carla his wife was once my sister-in-law when I was married to her brother" she said looking at him again, "It really is quite scary how alike you are, but you can't be his brother, because from memory he only had one and that was his twin James" Claire rambled.
It was certainly weird. He was thirteen but looked older, he didn't know anything about Sylar or the Cheerleader deal and he looked like Bruce Adams. Very strange indeed she thought.

Stephen nodded when she said his father, and his mothers name. Stephen sighed, he was getting used to telling everyone how he was their son and all.
"My name is Stephen Adams. I am from the future, I lost my memories in accident were I was attacked by two assassins but have gained a few of them back, I am the son of Bruce and Carla Adams and have at least one sibling, I don't really know." Stephen explained.
Stephen remembered how when he had first met his mother, it had been really weird. She was only a few years older then him , which only added to the weirdness. Stephen hoped he could find out more about his past, or future. Whichever it was.

So she was right. He was related to Carla and Bruce. He was their son and he was from the future. It wasn't unheard of, because Claire had already met Peter from the future before and future Gabriel. Although at his age, she began to wonder if Carla and Bruce knew their son from the future was in their present.
"I thought you looked like Bruce" Claire said with a smile. "They're really nice people, even when her brother and I split up Carla never held it against me" Claire explained some more and then realised it must sound really bad. To be married and have been married before while she was only eighteen.
She blushed slightly, as she spoke of being married before. "I have been married before, but the first one didn't work out, I guess you could say I got married on the rebound of an old love and the old love came back and well it just happened naturally" Claire explained away her reasons for having been married twice at a young age. Not that he asked for an explanation or that he might have been interested in one, but he got one anyway.
"So, have you met your mom and dad yet? If you have, it must have been really weird huh?" Claire asked with a weak smile. She remembered when she found she was adopted and how she was hellbent on finding out her blood relatives. Only to be disappointed she was related to the bitch Angela Petrelli. However, she melted her opinion of her over time, and now she's as close to the Petrelli family as she is to the Bennet family. Even if Gabriel is a little estranged from the family.
