18th December, 2008
Since Claire had been in California earlier that day for the meeting to get her quick divorce set into motion she had decided to stay for the night and spend some time with her other family, The Bennets. She hadn't been in their company much since she'd began bonding with the Petrelli family, but she still loved her Bennet family dearly, and even though she was calling Nathan dad as well, Noah would always be her number one dad.
Unfortunately he hadn't been able to make it to the meeting about her divorce proceedings. Normally Claire would have taken that as a reason to have a go at him for not being there for her as usual, but since joining The Company and actually working with him, she began to realise it wasn't always easy to get away.
Now she was just sitting on the sofa, after having coffee and cakes her mum Sandra had given her, waiting for her dad Noah to arrive. Mr Muggles was up on the sofa beside her and she actually found herself stroking his ears.

Noah knew he wouldn't have made the quick divorce meeting, and he hoped Claire wouldn't go off on him for not showing up. He hated when Claire was mad at him. He slammed the car door shut, as he made his way to the front door. Hitting the lock button on his key chain, the car beeped. Slipping the keys into his pocket, he began to open the front door.
"Sandra, I'm home." he said with a smile. He then noticed a small furball run towards him. He looked down with a laugh. "Hi there Mr Muggles." He set his briefcase down, which held Company guns, and then picked up their dog. He began to walk in further as he continued to pet Mr. Muggles.
Then he noticed her. Claire was home. He smiled. "Hi Claire Bear." he smiled. He put the dog down and began to walk towards her. "How did the meeting go?" he asked as he wrapped his arms around her for a hug.

Mr Muggles didn't stay beside her for too long however, when the door opened and it was her dad Noah arriving, the dog flew off the sofa to greet him. Claire didn't really mind, because she was never really a big fan of the dog, but being away from home made her miss everybody including the dog.
She heard him greet her mom Sandra, as she shouted out a greeting back to him and said she'd bring him out a coffee in a few moments. Things hadn't really changed much then Claire thought. Dad came home from work, Mr Muggles greeted him, mom brought out a coffee for him almost right away.
"Hi dad" she said with a smile, as he greeted her after putting the dog down and then he came toward her to give her a hug. This would be the very scene which would have made Claire push him away for not being there for her, but not anymore. She pulled him closer for the hug.
"It went good dad, the lawyer is sending the forms off to Sam for his signature and then it's more or less done, we don't really have anything to split, the house we were given in New York belongs to grandma..." she said, trailing off and taking a breath before continuing, "Angela" she corrected, so he would know who she was referring to.
"And I think I'll be moving back here, obviously to be with West" she said, and then she found herself beginning to cry. She felt terrible, her marriage to Sam had only lasted a month, not even a month, her family, both families had paid a lot of money for her wedding. "I'm sorry you wasted all that money on me" she said, knowing full well that Noah probably wouldn't be so angry about that so long as she was happy, but still she felt it had to be said.

Noah heard Sandra responded. He was glad she was still her usually self. He loved her coffee. He loved her. He smiled as he made his way into the living room, in which he saw Claire.
Noah had finished his hug, and as soon as he did, Claire began to speak. She spoke about the meeting she had earlier that day. The meeting that he couldn't make do to a mission for the Company. She explained how she might move back here for West. He didn't know that West was back in the picture. But he didn't mind, though he should. "Well he can have your room back if you decide to. Its still there waiting for you." he said with a laugh/smile. "I am glad the meeting was good. Again, sorry I couldn't make it." he apologized.

Claire smiled and listened to Noah speak after they had stopped hugging. He was telling her she could have her old room back if she wanted, it was there waiting for her. Wouldn't be such a bad idea, although, she knew she and West would totally be living together at some point, but she decided she didn't want to do it without marrying him first. So she'd move back home in the mean time.
It did make Claire wonder if her dad had seen anymore futuristic paintings. Because since West had come back into her life, she was certain more than ever that West was the guy she was going to spend the rest of her life with.
"I'll have my old room back for now, if you don't mind?" she said softly, of course he wouldn't mind. He was her dad. Nathan was her dad too of course and she would still be looked upon as the First Daughter, and she would still have to make sure she got to New York often enough while Nathan recuperated from his car accident.
"With West he can fly me to New York any time I want, I need to check up on my other dad since he had his accident, you do know about that right?" she asked him, she wasn't sure if he had been in touch with him at all, now she worked for the Company herself, she knew how difficult it was to get away or find anything out.
When her dad apologised again for not making the meeting, she snuggled up to him, leaning her head on his shoulder, "It's fine dad, I understand, now I truly understand, I'm sorry it took me long enough to realise it" she explained. Then she pulled up from his shoulder and looked him in the eye, "You haven't been shown any more future paintings of me have you?" she asked curiously. West never said he was going to propose, but she knew they would get married in her heart. It was the main reason for rushing her divorce through with Sam in the first place.

"Of course I dont mind." he said with a smile. He then decided to take a seat in the couch behind Claire. Sitting down on the 70's couch. He continued to listen to Claire as she explained Nathan and West. Noah was surprised to hear that Nathan was immobilized. He was stuck for the time being to the chair. "Sadly, I didn't. Sorry to hear that." he gave a slight smile.
His smile grew as Claire said it was okay for not showing up at the divorce meeting. He knew it he should have been there. It was his parental duty. But she shrugged it off, and switched topics to paintings. He knew she would have asked about this since, he showed her about Sam and her. But sadly he didn't not about a marriage anyways. "No." he lied. The painting was truthfully about Wests and Nathans death. From the set of them, it looked like West tried to save Nathan but both ended up dying. He knew it was the right thing to not inform Claire about this. He knew he had to take care of this himself. He had to save both lives, at whatever cost. Even if it has to be the cost of his own life. Noah sighed slightly and relaxed against the old couch.

Claire was pleased to hear Noah didn't mind that she was going to move back home. Nathan had enough to deal with now with trying to recover and the up coming move into the white house and becoming the President officially. He didn't need her around all the time either. But at least their time together had made them bond and that's all she had been after.
"Thanks dad" she said simply giving him a smile as she watched him go to the other older sofa. She was surprised he hadn't heard about Nathan's accident, she was certain that would have been global news given Nathan's new direction in life. "He had a car accident and got himself paralysed" she explained sadly. She hoped he would be able to recover soon so he could get back to his duties normally pretty soon.
When he said that there was no futuristic paintings of her, she was sad, she had really hoped there would have been one showing she and West were getting married. Although seeing as the first marriage was doomed, maybe a future painting of her and West wouldn't be such a good idea after all. "Oh, oh well then, never mind" she replied, as she didn't want to cause a scene, not when they were on good terms again just now.

Noah was surprised to hear about Nathan. He felt worried for Claire. He knew she loved Nathan and cared for him. But he was glad she was intelligent enough to decide to come back home to Costa Verde. Letting Nathan recover is the best move you could possibly do in a situation like this. But he was glad nonetheless, about her being back.
He felt sick to his stomach about lying to Claire about the painting. But he didn’t want to worry her. He couldn’t afford to. He kept the painting locked up in a basement of a comic store. He also hid the key far from there in an abandon warehouse. No one would be able to find this painting, or any of the other ones that also hid down in that basement.
Satisfied that Claire would never find it, not anyone, he got back to focusing at what was at hand. “You hungry, Claire Bear? Will West be showing up at all?” he asked. He was glad that Sam would soon be officially out of Claire’s life.

Claire would have been happy to stay with Nathan and help him recover, but she just knew she would have been in the way, and even being back in Costa Verde nothing stopped her from being the First Daughter, something she had taken much pride in. She would phone every day to make sure he was doing fine, and West could fly her over to see him when ever she wanted, providing he was free.
So she was actually quite happy to be back at the familiar home she knew and loved best.
"I am actually hungry dad" Claire said with a smile, "are you planning to make something, or go out somewhere?" Claire asked as she turned to look at him. He was asking now if West was going to join them, she didn't think so. He was off doing something somewhere.
"I don't think so dad, he hasn't text me to say he'll be here" she replied with a smile.

Just like him, he could tell Claire was glad to be back home. Noah then noticed people starring at their house from outside. Noah felt at unease with this. He hated people staring, especially at his house that some many secrets lied under its roof. Noah then returned to reality as Claire said she was hungry. “Sure we can go somewhere. Where would you like to go?” he asked.

Claire began to wonder why Noah was staring out the window, and so she took a look herself, there were people looking in. She had been getting somewhat used to this ever since Nathan officially became President of America. She sighed as she pulled at the curtains to close them over.
"Don't worry about them" she said as she shook her head. It was great to be the First Daughter, but it was annoying when people kept looking at her all the time.
She was glad when he said they could go somewhere even if it was going to be difficult with everybody watching them the way they did. But she found she didn't really care that much about them.
"How about MacDonald's?" she asked giving him a grin, well she was still a teenager with a lot of teenage tendencies and right now she wanted fast food.

Noah was glad that Claire didn’t mind the paparazzi. He watched her shut the curtains, as she did she began to speak. McDonalds? He thought. He hasn’t eaten there in a while. It sounded like a great idea. Noah smiled back as he pulled his keys out of his coat pocket. “Great! Ready?” he asked. He knew that they would possibly have to ditch some followers, but he was prepared to do this.
He began to make his way to the side door, which led into the garage. Opening the door, he spoke. “Claire Bears first.” he smiled as he spoke.

Being the First Daughter was great but it did come with disadvantages the main one being people constantly following you around with cameras and waiting outside your house to try and catch a glimpse of you. As if being a special and being watched for that reason wasn't bad enough she thought to herself. But she actually enjoyed being the First Daughter. It made her feel important.
She was glad that Noah didn't mind going to McDonald's. Not your average splash out place, but today Claire was in a eat cheap and be happy mood. "Yeah I'm ready" she replied and gave him a smile as she followed him to the door to head to the garage. She smiled at him when he said Claire Bears first, somehow that name would never grow old for her. She loved it.
"Thanks dad" she said as she walked out the door Noah held open for her and waited for him to follow.
[ooc: up to you if you want this to continue or leave it at that - I think we've established she understands his position more now]
