Maka teliported straight to France. She had heard rumors that an old friend had came back. One of the founders of the company known as Nine. Her former captain of the first division, before she became its leader in the past. Maka didn't even know his real name. She knew him simply as the Frenchman. Maka wanted to meet with her former friend. Maka at that time was weak in her mind. She relied on others to do there jobs. She counted on the Nine to get things done were now she would do them alone. She was a master at team war fear. Now she refuses to let others work with her. (Funny how time changes things.) She thought.
Maka walked up to her and the Frenchman's old meeting spot. There little secrete hideout you could say. The Frenchman was one of the few people that Maka still trusted. She didn't trust most people. This included her family and so called Friends. She stepped into the run down basement of a library. One that had been here for a very very long time. Dust and spiders now claimed this space for there own. Maka smiled as she saw them crawling. " This is your hide out now. " She told the bugs. Maka wasn't expecting her old friend to show up. She went there to remember the past.

"After all these years as the curtain falls upon us, it's strange how we both end up at the start of everything," A voice spoke out from the dark. Slowly, an old man in a wheel chair rolled his mobile device from the shadows, covered in cobwebs and dust. Despite his dirty and old appearence, the old man wore a wide smile as he recognized one of his oldest friends. Tied to the back of his chair appeared to be three scrolls of paper. The cobwebbed man had been waiting for his friends arrival for a little over two days now. Surviving on nothing but fast food and bottled water, he knew the end was soon. His body could no longer sustain itself and would soon fail. That was unless Maka could help him.
"Maka, it's been some time hasn't it? So much time has passed and we've only gotten old, though I guess I've done more aging than you have," The Frenchman said before letting out a small chuckle that was soon drowned out by a painful cough. "This place brings back a lot of memories? Before I met you, this served as my own personal stronghold against the invaders of my motherland. I figured it was a suitable place to either die, or be reborn."

Maka turned and gripped her twin bladded sword as she herd a voice coming from behind her. She was alert ready to strike down the envader. However it was the Frenchman himself. She smiled. "Yes this is were it all began so long ago. " She said and remembered that this place was the first place they had a meeting for NINE. Well the nine of the past anyway. Maka looked at the man with sad eyes a frow came across her face as she walked up to him. " Cant say you look good old friend time has done a number on you. " She told the Freanchman playfully. " Without me around you finaly have a dent in that armor of yours. " Maka told the man as she walked behind him and kneeled down. Ijnoring the comment about either deing or being reborn untill she was at his hieght,
"Dieing is out of the question old friend. Fate has more instore for you then to just lie in a box underground. " Maka told him as she gave him a hug from behind. Using her abilities she deaged him to the time she knew him. " Theres the man i remember. Welcome back Frenchman." She told the man who she just allowed him to be reborn. " Have you seen the new generation? " Maka asked walking in front of the Frenchman now. " There still wet behind the ears. Not like it was when we were in play." Maka told the Frenchman with a smirk.

The Frenchman felt life reenter his body, he watched as his wrinkly slowly disappear from his hand to be replaced by smoother skin of his younger form. He felt fantastic, he felt young, he felt like he could do anything. But then he felt a great pain around his body as his whole body began to twitch. This had never happened before but he knew what was going on. With his youth being restored, he felt that his powers were also returning to him. As he grew older, all the powers he obtained from his life before and during working for the company, left him one by one. His last powers to left him were the ones before the nine was formed, he believed these powers would return to him when the deaging process was complete, and as the pain would suggest, he was right. He bolted from the wheelchair as stumbled into the middle of the room. As he felt life returning to him, he couldn't help but muttered the words "I will be reborn!" The first power to return to him was his father's laser power as they fired from his hands and head, covered his body to hide the deaging process. The second power to return was his mothers healing power with swept the room, healing dead spiders that littered the room. The power also hit Maka, however how she was healed was unknown to the Frenchman. Then his third power, the power to see the future. Flashes of wastelands and zombies roaming whilst radiation roots away the last remains of humanity. Finally it stopped and where an old man once stood, there was now a middle aged brown haired man that Maka knew all to well. Realizing what had happened, he could help but burst out laughing in joy. "Oh yes! Take that mother nature! In your face! I beat you again!" For a little victory dance, the Frenchman fired a laser from each hand to the ground. "Oh it feels soo good to do that again! Oh Maka!" The Frenchman jumped around and gave his old friend a tight hug "I knew I could always count on you! You so rock!"(Note, I'd like to credit the deaging process idea to this clip: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=vsrPO4ocYDk from Doctor who)

Maka watched her old friend deage. It was a process. He instantly looked younger but still it was not complete. The Frenchmen began to feel pain Maka could see it in his face. He seemed tense. Maybe Maka had gotten rusty at that aspect of her ability. She had not preformed it in a while and it was tricky. All that she could do was watch him in pain. She didn't like the feeling of this. Being hopeless only for a moment. He said those words again, (I will be reborn.) Maka repeated them in her mind. She didn't know what that meant. It wasn't like the Frenchman was going to go threw his childhood again. Maka knew to some extent. That he would have his old life back. Youth and being active were now a possibility to the old man.
Maka stepped away from the Frenchman as the lazer ability emerged. She was about to stop time and teliport him out of the library basement into a more secluded area. One were few people would go. After all the library still functioned normally above ground. However The Frenchmen regained his control. Maka was happy but he still looked to be in pain. His mothers healing power seemed to be kicking in. Maka could tell tho she had no injuries she felt like she had just gotten out of a nice shower at the end of a spa day. Refreshed and ready to take on the world. Maka smiled as she felt his powers surround her body. Maka could not tell that he had obtained Precognition however she had the suspicion he did so.
Then the true Frenchman showed himself. Young, powerful and cunning. Maka smirked as she saw him standing there in the middle of the room. He went on to cheer of his newly restored body and abilities. Celebrating by his lazer display Maka felt happy to have him back. She was glade he was happy and felt better, like his old self. He then jumped around maka couldn't help but laugh she was as thrilled as he was. When he hopped into her arms she welcomed him and felt a funny felling in the pit of her stomach. (What is this. I have not felt like this for so long. ) Maka wondered as she closed her eyes until the hug was over. She wanted to stay like that forever. The feeling went away it was a brief moment between two friends tho Maka felt something more. Like she finally had hope in this world, Something shes lost threw her many years of living. The Frenchmen then commented that he could always count on her and that she rocked. Maka bursts out laughing from pure enjoyment of his company. " Any time. I'll always be here to watch your back buddy." She told him playfully. It was nice to have someone she could trust around again. The other founders were all no were to be found. Maka thought that was suspicious. Most were dead killed by each other and the younger generation of heroes and villains alike. Yet here Maka and the Frenchman were together as founders of Nine. " We have survived time. You have been given another chance to save the world." Maka smiled and gave him a wink. "To become a hero. "

"Bah heroism," The Frenchman muttered as he looked at his new body in old person clothes. It seemed as if he'd shrunk as he grew old, and the clothes he'd wore to his rebirth were a little to small for him in his prime. Though his old person clothes would do for the moment, he looked forward to changing into something more comfortable and something more him. Perhaps a nice business suit, or to be more casual, a hoody and jeans. At least something that didn't itch as much as this diner shirt and trousers he decided to wear to what could have been his last days on Earth.
"Come on Maka, you of all people know I prefer my morally gray, I've lived too long and have seen too much dark in this world, done too many dark things to start being the good guy," The Frenchman informed her as he shot off another laser beam into nowhere just for a laugh. It felt so good to have his powers back again and every time he used his lasers, he felt a short rush. "The world needs to be balanced out. It can't have too many good people, and it can't have too many evil people. I'm only interested in keeping the balance that this world needs."
"So Maka... Maka Maka Maka. I do believe I owe you big time for the deaging thing. So what can I do to help you? Someone you want me to kill? Someone you want me to save? Do you want to be pleasured the way only a french person can pleasure a women? Or do you want me to build that house extention I said I'd build for you? Cause I've been reading some books and I think I can do it. But it's up to you. What do you want for your reward?"

Maka giggled at the Frenchman's answer to become a hero. He had truly returned. Maka tried to get a hold of herself. " I had to give it a shot. " She said sarcastically. She knew he wasn't the cap crusading do gooder type. Maka loved that about him. She sort of modeled her thoughts after his. Being one of his solders back in the old days, She learned allot about the nature of people. She started to giggle once again as the Frenchman told her he was morally gray. " Pretend all you want my friend. I know you have a kind hart under that tough exterior. You cant fool me. " Maka told him. "Your a good guy weather you'd like to admit it or not. Sometimes we must do morally gray deeds but that will not change whats inside your hart. They say what you do defines who who are. I say that what you do means nothing if your hart isn't in it. We are alike. Both doing what are hart tells us is right. " Maka added.
She smirked as he displayed his ability. " Amazing what you can do. I always envied those abilities of yours.... So pretty." She complemented the burst of his lasers. She liked to watch them in motion. Slowing down time for only herself whenever she saw them to get a closer look. She would never admit to that. That she could take the time to look at its ingenuity without anyone noticing was a secret pleasure Maka would hold to herself. Maka then listened as the Frenchman spoke of keeping balance. " Yes. I fully agree with you. The world needs both good and evil and the two sides must remain equal. There must always be Yin to Yang. For every light that shines it casts a shadow. The heroes that emerge must have there villains or they cant very well be called heroes." Maka told the Frenchman. " Balance will forever be in play. Its the simple nature of this world. There can never be peace on earth as some wish for. There can never be total evil either for happiness is a sign of good. Pleasure and relationships will emerge as the light even in a world covered in darkness. There will always be hope in this world. There will always be sin. " Maka pored out her thoughts and outlook on life. "Ive seen it. The world never changes no matter which time i travel to." She added confirming them.
" But Frenchman. I'm curious. " Is doing nothing when you have the power to save us all considered evil? " Maka asked. Some people consider nothing neutral because there not involved with any side. They do noting and Maka hated it. " Is fighting for both sides to insure balance remains really doing anything? " Maka asked. " The world will work out the way fate has casts upon its people anyway. Whether we do nothing or something we call are-selves a neutral party. Morally gray. But heroes and villains will continue to fight. Sooner or later we must choose a side. Were will we stand when the end is near? " Maka asked wondering about the Frenchman as-well as herself.
The Frenchman offered repayment for the deaging process. Maka smirked. She knelled on one knee and bowed her head. " Frenchman, I'm duty bound to help you in any way i can. I will always follow you no matter what and help you when ever i can. My loyalty lies with you no matter what side you choose. There is no need for repayment. By helping you i was only playing my part as your solder. You wished for youth again, to be reborn. Its my job to make that a possibility. You don't work for me..... I work for you. " Maka replied tho she did need his help she didn't want to ask. She was not in a position to ask for his help.
"No I will deal with my goals alone. I am your solder still. Always and forever i will be. Time wont change that. However, i must seek my own story. My path is one i must walk alone. I cant bear it if those who i care about get killed because of my problems. There are a few people i like in this world as it is. I cant have those numbers drop or i will have no one. To be alone is what i fear most of all. " Maka then stood up she looked to the ground, " What I'm working on now i may not return myself. ...... The tiger has emerged. " Maka told him, Declining his offer. She was talking about the Tiger Zodiac.

(Sorry this took so long. Wasn't sure how he'd react to the tiger issue.)
The Frenchman frowned when he heard the news about the Tiger. He knew exactly what she meant when she mentioned those words. It meant that the whole planet was endanger and it would require saving again. He was aware that the Nine would attempt to send their new first division, however he never had faith in a division he wasn't leading. They were more than likely loose against him, or even worse, kill him. There was another solution that they could never think of.
"I predicted there would be a day the Zodiac walked the Earth. I didn't think so soon though. I figured the early 2050s as the lowest. But it doesn't really matter. I have a plan to deal with him. You were once the key component in that plan but the more I think of it, the more risky I realize this is. I can't loose you where there is another way. I'm not sure what this other way is but it's going to be good other way. I'd sake money on it," The Frenchman said with a smile.
