A Twist of Fate [Jackson - later Marcus]

It was the day of the competition, Emma had been practicing for weeks for this National competition. It was the United States Champions, and her coach who had been pushing her to do more with her skating and less with her veterinary surgery wanted her to win so she could go onto International Champions. Emma of course was still very unsure about this. She wasn't ready to give up her first love which was working with the wonderful animals she had grown to love through her clients. Emma had won gold medals before but they were all at Local Championships, she had only ever won bronze of silver at the Nationals before.

She felt she was good enough to win gold, but she was torn, she wasn't sure she actually wanted to win gold, because she knew what winning gold would mean for her and her so called career. Jackson would be in the crows now waiting for her to come onto the ice, and right now Emma was in the dressing room waiting for her turn to go and skate her routine.

She couldn't believe she had met someone as wonderful as Jackson. Her life was so much better with him in it and she was so in love if it weren't for the tough decision in her career she was being forced to make she would feel like the happiest woman alive, of that she was certain. She hadn't fallen pregnant yet, and that was maybe a good thing, it meant she could get this competition out the way, and then if her coach continued to hassle her for International Championships, she could say she was pulling out for a year or two because she wanted to start a family. He couldn't stop her after all.

Just then her name was called out, and she stepped to the entrance took off her blade protectors and skated out to the middle of the ice rink. Getting into position just as the music she chose to skate to began to play. It was 'She's The One' by Robbie Williams. It was a four minute routine, and as she scanned the crowd quickly she saw Jackson and immediately felt relaxed giving him a warm smile.

The routine was full of graceful moves around the rink, with double and triple axels and salchows, the routine went perfectly and as the music drew to a close there was lots of applauding an cheers from the crowd. Emma did a little bow and picked up some of the flowers which had been thrown onto the ice before skating off to the edge, putting her blade protectors on and sitting in the seat with her coach to get the score she had been given. She was the final one to skate in this competition.

Emma had got the highest scores of the competition and although it hadn't been officially announced, it meant she had won gold. Her coach cuddled her and picked her up and swung her around. Then the voice came over to announce the winners.

"In third place, winning bronze is Miss Carolyn Chambers." Carolyn skated out to the medal section standing on her box and was given her medal and a bouquet of flowers. "In second place, winning silver, Miss Samantha Roberts." Samantha skated out to the medal section standing on her box and was given her medal and bouquet of flowers also. Emma stood up, removing her blade protectors. "Winning gold, Miss Emma Woods." Emma, skated out, looking for Jackson as she did so and smiled warmly at him as she caught him. She stood on her winning box and got given her medal and bouquet of flowers, and then the National Anthem played.

Of course with Emma being British even though she was living in the States, she was still classed as British in competitions, so it was the British National Anthem which got played. When it was over, Emma skated around the rink, collecting more flowers which had been thrown for her. She then skated off, and immediately made her way to the changing rooms. She quickly got out of her skating outfit, and into her pink satin bustier top and denims. Of course she kept her hair the way it was, with the tiara still in place and made her way out to the main entrance and waited for Jackson to appear.

Jackson couldn't wait to see Emma skate. He had been to most practices, but Jackson knew that this was the one competition he couldn't miss. He knew how much time Emma had put in for this routine, and he didn't want to miss it. As Jackson walked into the skating rink, and found his seat, he had to reflect back on the passed month.

Jackson's thoughts went straight to the night that Emma and him had begun their physical relationship. He knew that they had only being dating for a month at that time, but what they did just felt just right. Emma hadn't fallen pregnant yet, due to her being on the pill before that night. Jackson couldn't wait for that moment when she told him that she was, but he knew he could wait. He knew how important her two chosen careers were for her right now.

Jackson absently watched the other skaters, as they skated on the ice for their routine, and playing with the roses he had in his hands. Then without realising it, his mind snapped back into reality mode, and his ears heard Emma's name being called. He watched as Emma skated out onto the ice, and fall into her starting position. Their eyes instantly connected, and all Jackson could do was smile, and blow her a kiss. He watched her perform her routine, which was nothing but spectacular in his book. Jackson hadn't really watched that many other skaters on the ice, and knew that if he did, he might just compare them to Emma.

Once she was finished, Jackson pulled out a single rose from the bunch, and threw it down to her on the ice. He wanted to run down to her right then and there, praising her for what she did. But he knew he would have to wait until the whole thing was over. When the score were shown, Jackson saw that what she had gotten was nothing less than fabulous, but hadn't really noticed any of the other skater's scores, so didn't know where she was placed at the time.

After a few moments, Jackson heard the announcer for the competition announce the winners, from third place to first place. The third place winner was announced, and then the second place winner. Jackson's heart began to beat a bit faster. He didn't know if she was going to get the gold, or was she tired, or what? Then her name was called out. Jackson was the first person to jump up, and cheer the loudest. He couldn't stop from smiling. Emma's hard work and dedication had paid off.

He knew that afterwards all the skaters went back the dressing rooms to converse with their trainers and to get changed. So Jackson followed the crowd part of the way out of the seats, and down to the foyer, near the main entrance to the rink. He waited there, still holding the other 11 roses in his hands. Jackson saw Emma coming, and instead of just waiting for her, he ran up to her, and embrassed her in a warm hug. Whispering in her ear, Jackson said, "You were fantastic out there Em." With that he kissed her.

Emma still couldn't believe she had won the gold medal, it was like a dream come true, but at the same time, it would mean her coach would push her all the more to enter the International Championships. And that wasn't what Emma wanted right now, she wanted to take time out to have a child with Jackson, and she wasn't sure how her coach was going to take that news. She would confront it soon enough, but right now she was just happy to have won her first gold medal. It was simply amazing.

As Emma stood outside waiting for Jackson, she soon saw him, and watched as he ran toward her and embraced her in a hug. She immediately wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closely to her. When he whispered into her ear that she was fantastic out there, her skin tingled at his hot breath, but she couldn't get the grin off her face. "Thanks Jackson." She replied, as she touched the medal around her neck and pulled it out from under her clothes, "I won gold, can you believe that?" She said in an excited voice just before Jackson kissed her to which she kissed him back. She didn't care about anybody around them, she was just so lost in the moment.

After a few moments, she gently pulled away from Jackson, and then gave him a warm smile, but with sad eyes, "There's only one problem with this." She began, as she took in a deep breath, "It's going to make coach try to push me to enter International Champions, and I don't want to do that now Jackson, I want to so much have a baby with you." She said in such a happy voice, she really couldn't contain the happiness of winning the gold and the happiness of just having such a wonderful, sweet and kind caring man in her life.

Just then she felt a tap on her shoulder, she turned round it was her coach. "Emma that was simply fantastic, I'm putting you forward for Internationals in six months time." He said, and Emma just looked down at her feet, and then glanced across at Jackson for his support, right now she wasn't sure what to say to her coach Pavel, her coach was Russian. She tried to speak, "Pavel, I...I, well I was going to speak to you." She began and then looked at Jackson again before swallowing hard, "I want to take time out, maybe a year or two, I want to...." she was struggling to say the words, because she knew how he was going to act. "I want to start a family with my..." It would have been so much better if she could have said fiancé or husband, but anyway, "With my boyfriend Jackson."

There, the words were out. Pavel's face grew dark and when he spoke his voice was very angry and his Russian accent was thicker than usual. "Emma, you cannot do zis to me, you're my star skater." He then grabbed her arm tightly and pulled her aside away from Jackson. "Pavel..you're hurting me." She said in a scared voice as she tried to pull away from him.

When Emma said that she couldn't believe that she had won gold, Jackson said to her when they parted, "I can. I have seen you lately working your butt off out there on the ice." The warm smile Emma gave him was nice, and made him want to get out out of here, and really celebrate.

But behind that smile, he saw her sad eyes. When Emma spoke about what her coach would want her to do, and then her own intentions, Jackson looked at her seriously. "Whatever you choose to do Emma, I will support you one hundred percent. You have to know that." Again she sounded happy, which made Jackson smile and feel that happiness through himself. Jackson was going to suggest that they get going, when Emma's coach came up behind her, and tapped her on the shoulder. Jackson stood a little bit apart from Emma as she stood in front of him.

He could feel the happiness drain from the atmosphere, when Emma looked down at her feet. She glanced over at Jackson, and he gave her a confident look, trying to encourage her to speak up. As Emma began, she looked at Jackson again, and he gestured with his head, nodding slightly to go on. Jackson stood by her the whole time as she explained to Pavel about what she was going to do. When he looked at Pavel when Emma was finished, Jackson didn't like the look on his face.

He watched as Pavel got angry at her, raising his voice. Jackson wanted to step in right then and tell him off, but he knew better than that. But then Pavel grabbed his lovers arm, pulling her so abruptly. This send alarm bells off in Jackson's head. He had to restrain himself from just going straight over to the guy and knocking his lights out.

Jackson decided to just slightly grab this guy's shoulder, to get his attention. "Didn't you hear her, you are hurting her. You don't need to grab her like that." He kept his voice under control, but really wanted to just do what he thought earlier. Jackson looked at Emma's coach, and then back at Emma. He could feel himself losing control, and with that Jackson shoved the guy, trying to not get in the way of Emma's body.

Emma just grinned at Jackson when he said he could believe she had won gold because she had worked her butt off on the ice. It was nice to hear him say that, especially when she knew it was so true. "Thanks Jackson, my first ever gold medal." Emma said with another glowing winning smile as she continued to finger the ribbon of the medal around her neck. She still had the bouquet of flowers in her hand as well.

Of course Emma had then went on to say how her coach may want her to continue into International Champions and how she wanted to start a family with Jackson. Jackson naturally said that he would support her decision no matter what. Of course Emma knew that, but it was still nice to hear him say it. "Oh Jackson, I do know that, of course I know that." Emma said with enthusiasm in her voice, as she took her free hand away from her medal and placed it on Jackson's face. It wasn't as if Emma would be young mother, she would be twenty one on August first anyway. At that point, especially in the States, she'd now be old enough to drink as well as have sex and get married. She would damn well be old enough to have a baby.

Of course that was the point Pavel showed his face and after he had dragged Emma away from Jackson slightly and she had said he was hurting her, he didn't seem to have backed down any. "Bloody hell Pavel, you don't own me." Emma shouted in a loud voice, she didn't care who heard or saw their altercation. No coach had the right to talk to or treat their skater in such a way. However, that was also when Jackson got involved. Emma had a feeling he wouldn't have stood back and let her be treated like that, but she just hoped that Pavel would back down and not cause more of a scene than he already had.

Pavel looked at Jackson, after he had pushed him "I did not mean to hurt her, but you have to oonderstand how important she iz to me." He said in his thick accent. However, he sighed and dropped Emma's arm and then looked at her again. "Thiz iz such a terrible thing for me to take in, but if thiz iz what you must do, I can not stop you." He said as he walked away from Emma and Jackson shaking his head.

Emma turned to face Jackson, with a little fear but also much relief. "Bloody hell, that didn't go down too well, but I guess he knows now." She said as she began to brighten up. It wasn't as if she was saying no to her career in ice skating, she was just wanting to take a break away from it. What was so wrong with that? Plus she hadn't been putting in much dedication to her veterinary practice recently, leaving most of it to her assistants. It would be good to get back into that side of her career again as well. Something she could do while she was pregnant.

Then becoming much more relaxed with a grin on her face, she said, "So, are we going to celebrate this win and my new found freedom from skating for a while?" Taking Jackson's hand in her free one and walking toward the exit of the skating arena to the car park.

Just hearing Emma telling Pavel off in her loud voice didn't do much to Jackson's nerves. Though Jackson was relieved when he decided to lay off. Jackson didn't feel like going all out in front of others, knowing that that was just not him at all. He didn't want to embarrass himself, and Emma, in the process. When Pavel walked away, Jackson called after him, "Sorry man, but this is what she wants." With that comment, he turned to Emma and smiled, "And I am glad about your decision. You are one tough cookie." With that, Jackson gave her a hug.

When Emma grinned at him, Jackson had to smile back, feeling her hand in his. Shrugging, teasing her a little, he said, looking away, "I don't know now. I thought maybe you might be excausted or something." Knowing what he said might be a bit too cheecky, Jackson then said, looking at her with a big smile, "Of cause we are. I want to celebrate my girlfriend's big win. It is not every day one of us wins something this big."

Even in his own life, in the last 29 years, had Jackson won anything like this. He was so proud of Emma, and knew that all that training and hard work she had put in really did pay off. Jackson then thought that now that she had decided to give up skating for a while, she could concentrate on her other love - her vetinary surgery. Jackson had been there a couple of times, and he could see how much the place meant to her.

As they walked out the main entrance, Jackson stopped, and sat down on a near by bench. "Emma, I am glad that you are choosing a life with me over your skating. But I hope that you don't regret any of this now. I know I don't, but I don't want you to look back in a few weeks times, if nothing has happened yet, and think why you gave it up. I don't want to be the person you resent for your decision." Jackson didn't want to say that, but he knew that he loved her, and didn't want to be the reason for her leaving something that she loved to do.

Jackson took her hand, and then gave her a smile. "Let's go down to that chinese restaurant down the street. I don't know about you, but I am hungry. Though not sure if food is what I need right now. But maybe it is, as I couldn't eat much before I got to rink. I was so nervous for you, and I wasn't the one who was competing." Jackson has to half laugh at that one. He got nervous before he performed, but knew what Emma was doing was a bit more competitive than his type of performing.

Emma couldn't help but feel more at ease when she heard Jackson say to Pavel as he walked off that he was sorry but it was what she wanted. It was true, it was what she wanted. She knew she would never regret this decision. Ice skating was a good hobby for Emma which had escalated, but being a veterinary doctor was her first love. However the hobby turned into semi-professional and the more she competed, the more she enjoyed it. But this now, she was so in love with Jackson, she knew it was the right decision.

She smiled at Jackson when he said he was glad about her decision and that she was one tough cookie. "I'm glad about my decision Jackson, it means more time for my veterinary surgery too, not to mention more time with you." She grinned just before he gave her the hug, which she wrapped her own arms around him tightly and hugged back.

Emma was near tempted to stick her tongue out in a playful manner when he said he didn't know she might be exhausted when she had asked if they were going to celebrate, but she knew he was teasing her. Then of course he gave her a big smile and said of course they were going to celebrate. "Well it is a huge win, it's my first ever gold medal, the others have been bronze of silver so far." Emma explained, and then smiled again, she was so happy right now. "So I'm glad you're happy to celebrate it with me." She added, as she continued to hold his hand and walk. Once they walked out of the main entrance Jackson walked to a near by bench and sat down, so Emma followed and sat down next to him.

Jackson began to speak and Emma just sat and listened to everything he had to say. She was seldom one for interrupting anybody, and this time was no different. But the whole time he was talking, she felt herself shaking her head. It was her way of saying, no, don't worry, until he had finished and she could say something back to him. When Jackson stopped talking, Emma looked up into his eyes, holding her own with his. She sat the bouquet of flowers down on the bench beside her and took one of his hands in both of her own bringing to her heart and resting it there.

"Jackson, you're in here now, and you aren't going anywhere. This is what I want to do, it's right for me, and it's the right time. I love you with all my heart, and I could never and would never resent for you any decision I made. You haven't pushed me into making this decision, it's fully mine." With that she gently let go of his hand, and put one of her own up to neck and leaned in and kissed him.

Jackson then took her hand in his and spoke about the Chinese restaurant, which sounded good enough for Emma. "Sure, that sounds good to me, and I'm bloody starving too, I never eat before a performance, because I don't like skating on a full stomach, makes me feel like I can't do my best." Emma explained as she stood up from the bench. Shew as happy enough to wear her medal still, but she didn't want to walk around with the bouquet of flowers she got from the win.

"It's not far, so we can walk it, I'd like the walk, but can I put these into your car first please? Don't want to walk around holding them." The winning bouquet were like all winning flowers, they were massive and very much full of greenery, Emma knew it would be awkward to carry them after a while.

Jackson was relieved when Emma said that he was in her heart now, and that he wasn't going anywhere. Just feeling her heart beating, made him feel that what she was saying was true. The feel of it in his hand made his own heart steady itself, like it was reasuring him somehow. Jackson felt his eyes close for just two seconds listening to what she said, and then opened his eyes again, looking straight at Emma. Her hand on his neck send tingles all over, and when she kissed him, it made them double of what her touch had done.

Though he was then glad that she said that she was starving. Jackson just loved that accent of hers. Everytime he heard her get excited, Jackson had to stiffle a laugh. It was the cutest thing. "Great. Well I could eat a truck load of Honeyed Chicken then." Just thinking about that, it made his stomache growl at just the thought of his favourite dish. As he was about to start going in the direction of his car, Emma asked if she could put the flowers in his car. "Sure. I am sure you don't want any more attention that they would probably bring. But I am sure that you won't mind attention from yours truly."

As they walked to his car, Jackson couldn't help but nuzzle her neck every few seconds. Just before they got to the car, he stopped, and pulled Emma in for a passionate embrase. He felt that he was so in love right now, he wanted to shout it to the world. With that thought, Jackson wonder if he should dedicate one of his songs to Emma. Maybe he could sneak in a copy of his songs, and see if the restaurant could play it, or maybe Jackson could contact a club where he had played before, and do a small song for her. Whatever he could think of, he was saw that it would work out.

He took the flowers off Emma, and opened the passenger door. He lent in and placed the flowers on the seat. And then before standing up out of the car, Jackson fished around for a copy of his songs, and placed it in his jacket pocket. Once the door was closed, Jackson turned to Emma, kissed her, and then said, "Are you ready?"

Jackson knew he was. One, he wanted to eat, and two, later he wanted to get Emma alone for some private time. The food was just for starters. He had never felt this way about anyone, after such a short time. They had been together for 2 months now, and everything just seemed to be falling into place. Future prospects were soon popping into his mind. Was something more on the cards?

Emma grinned when Jackson said he could eat a truck load of Honeyed Chicken, it sounded delicious and she figured she may well have some herself. She didn't eat red meat, only white meat which usually consisted of chicken, turkey and fish. "Might get the same myself." She replied, not that she meant to sound stalkerish by getting the same food as him, but she did favour Honeyed Chicken, that and Lemon Chicken. Emma had to laugh as he spoke about attention. It was true, she didn't want any more attention than was necessary from carrying the flowers, but attention from Jackson she could always cope with.

"Attention from you I can deal with." She replied, and sighed gently, she was so in love, everything just felt so right. As they walked to his car she could only giggle as he kept nuzzling into her neck, it was tickly, but also so loving and welcoming. Emma was sure now more than ever before she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Jackson. She didn't care if she wasn't twenty one until August, she knew how she felt. She had already agreed to have his baby.

Once they reached the car, Jackson took the flowers from her and placed them on the seat and then he kissed her and then asked if she was ready once he locked the car door again. "I'm ready." She replied, kissing him again herself. She now had two free hands, an immediately used one of them to interlock her fingers with one of his own hands, as they began to walk to the Chinese restaurant. They would have to cross the road, as the restaurant was on the opposite side from where they were. She sighed gently again, looking toward Jackson and grinning. "This is going to be a perfect night to a perfect day."

Marcus had finally tracked down his family, well he had least found out more information about his sister at any rate. He had found out she was performing for a National Ice Skating Competition at the local Ice Arena in Mid-Town Manhattan and he had immediately taken himself off to find her. He had found out quite late in the day about this and knew he would probably be too late for the actual competition, but he felt he had to try. If he found Emma, he could then meet their parents and the other brother he hadn't met also.

He made his way to the Ice Arena, as he began to approach it, he started to run in the hopes of being able to catch her either still performing or at the very best leaving the ice arena. As he got inside however, he realised with a heavy heart he had missed the competition. He didn't have a photograph of Emma or Craig, his other brother, but he did have a photograph of his mother, and he could only hope his sister would look like their mother, so he could easily find her.

He made his way out of the ice arena again toward the car park and saw a couple up ahead. He was going to shout, but what if it wasn't his sister, he'd look a damn fool if they turned round and gave him a look as if he was weird. Just as he was about to give it a shot, they had turned and were making their way out of the car park. Marcus cursed to himself and left the car park and crossed the road. He was thirsty and went into a supermarket and bought a can of Pepsi, and as he left and began to drink it that's when he saw them.

The same couple he had seen in the car park, only now he could see them face on, and as he quickly took out the photograph and looked at and then peering over the street to the girl, he could see a resemblance, it had to be his sister. Not realising he could scare her in anyway, he shouted out her name as they began crossing the road.

"Emma, Emma Woods, is that you? I can't believe I've focking found you at last, I'm your brother." He shouted across the street, hoping that she wouldn't freak out too much.

Jackson loved the feel of Emma's hand in his, their fingers laced together. He smiled just before she kissed him again. "Right, let's go then." When Jackson heard Emma say that it was going to be a perfect night to a perfect day, he had to agree. With that, Jackson let go of her hand, and put his arm around her as they started walking out of the parking lot.

As they were near the exit of the parking lot, Jackson turned to Emma and embrassed hed. This whole day had been confusing at the beginning for him, what with meeting his ex, who in fact had their child, a daughter. But then all that melted away when Jackson knew that he was seeing Emma, even though it was still in the back of his mind. Whispering in her ear, Jackson couldn't help but say, "I love you so much."

With that Jackson kissed Emma passionately, and then went back to holding her hand, guiding her to the edge of the curb. Jackson looked right, left, and then right again, which was a force of habit, due to being taught that when he was younger. Seeing that there were no cars coming, Jackson began to walk across the road, towards the restaurant, gesturing for Emma to follow.

Then all of a sudden a male voice shouted out across the street. Jackson heard Emma's first name and then full name get calls out. He knew he couldn't stop in the middle of the road, but quickly turned to see who wanted Emma's attention. The guy was probably around Jackson's age, and had an Irish accent. Jackson wondered why this guy wanted to get her attention. Then he heard the guy say he was her brother.

Looking at Emma, Jackson asked her, "Do you know him? He says he is your brother." Jackson hadn't heard Emma speak about an older brother, so he wasn't quite sure what to make of this new found family member.

Emma smiled when Jackson spoke about going, and she loved the feel of her hand in his. She especially liked the feel of it when their fingers were locked as they were. Emma felt it was a sure sign of love, not that she really needed one. He then after she kissed him, let go of her hand and put his arm around her instead, which she instinctively nudged into, leaning her head on his shoulder.

As they reached the exit of the parking lot, Jackson pulled her into an embrace, which made Emma feel giddy inside, her stomach was doing butterflies, that feeling you got when you just knew you were in love. When he whispered that he loved her so much Emma could feel the smile grow on her face, as she turned to him. "I love you so much too." When he kissed her passionately, she moved in and kissed him back just as passionately, allowing her tongue to explore his mouth. Those kisses with Jackson were the best.

After the kiss he went back to holding her hand and they made their way to cross the road. Emma had to hide a laugh at how careful Jackson was being to make sure the road was clear of traffic, and yet at the same time couldn't help but think how adorable it was also. Of course with Emma's ability she would hear a car coming from quite a good distance away, but if she was distracted, her ability didn't always work so well. When Jackson gestured for them to begin crossing, Emma heard her name being shouted in what was a clear Irish accent.

She had no idea who the person was, as she tried to figure out who he was as she stared in his direction. Then he mentioned he was her brother. Well she had one brother, and funny up to this point in her relationship she had yet to discuss Craig with Jackson, she felt bad about that suddenly, but this guy, she didn't know this guy. When he said brother, she immediately let go of Jackson's hand and put it up to her mouth. She was in complete shock.

She shook her head when Jackson asked if she knew the guy, taking her hand away from her mouth slightly, "No, I've never seen him before, but he seems adamant he's my brother." She replied, as she just stood there, forgetting she was in the middle of the road, completely distracted. So naturally she didn't hear the car as it turned the corner which was just behind them at a break necking speed, so fast it had no chance to pull on its brakes in time and as Emma then realised a car was approaching and turned it was too late, the car smacked into her legs and was so powerful it sent her over the bonnet of the car and as the car finally came to a stop, the force sent her smacking back onto the road.

She lay there motionless, with multiple cuts and bruises over her legs, arms, face, with a nasty gash on her head and right leg. Basically within seconds Emma was lying in a pool of her own blood, the perfect night to the perfect day, wasn't so perfect after all.

Marcus still couldn't believe he had finally found his sister. He just knew it was her, she looked so much like the photograph of their mam it was uncanny. Although he probably should have waited until they had crossed the road before trying to gain her attention, but in hindsight, he had no idea what was going to happen in the next few minutes. He wanted to shout again that he was her older brother, and run toward her and grab her into a hug, for Marcus it just felt good to finally have a brother and sister after believing himself to be an only child for all those years. But he felt he may have scared her enough just by shouting out her name, that he didn't want to push it by running across the road and trying to grab her.

The guy who was with her must be her boyfriend he thought, and he looked rather protective of her, which of course if he was her boyfriend then he should be protective of her, however, he was just a little worried that this boyfriend would think he was going to attack his girlfriend when in fact he just wanted to get to know her. He kept watching as he saw the guy obviously say something to Emma and watched as she shook her head, after she had taken her hand away from her mouth. He wished he knew what they were saying to each other, but they were too far away.

However, he could see that Emma was still frozen to the spot and that's when he saw the car turning the corner at an extremely high speed, and instinctively he yelled, "Emma, get out the way lass." But he realised that it had fallen on deaf ears so to speak as he could only watch in horror as the car smacked into her with quite a force as she went up onto the bonnet and then smacked back down on the ground, lying there motionless. Marcus just fell to his knees, "Jeezes, Holy Mary mother of God." He muttered as he felt tears stinging at his eyes, something he didn't normally do, but he had just watched his new found sister be run over by a car and he had caused it.

Maybe he wasn't driving the car, but if he hadn't distracted her like that, she'd still be on her feet. He got up from his knees and scrambled over to where Emma now lay on the road motionless looking down at her, hoping to God she wasn't dead. He immediately checked her for a pulse. Looking up at the blond haired guy, "There's a pulse, not strong, but it's there." He said as he started tearing his hands through his hair.

Pulling at his hair tightly, as the tears still fell, "Focking hell, what a focking shitty loife I have, I swear to God." He said and then looked at the blond haired guy again, "I'm so sorry mate, I didn't mean it ye got to know that, she's me sister man, I was just excited about seeing her finally." He then immediately took out his cell phone and dialled 911 and asked for an ambulance.

Jackson saw Emma's face as she let go of his hand, and put it straight up to her mouth. He could see the shocked face, soon knowing that she in fact had no idea who this guy was. Emma acknowledged that he knew for certain somehow that he was her brother. Jackson wondered, looking at him, that he had a slight resemblence, especially with the eyes, but nothing was certain until they actually spoke with them.

These thoughts soon went out of Jackson's head when this guy called out to Emma to watch out for the car. Everything felt like it was in slow motion. Jackson turned his head to see the on coming car, seeng it going rather fast towards Emma, his everything in his life right now. Then he saw Emma turn, and there was nothing Jackson could do but watch her being hit by the on coming car. Seeing her body being hit like a ragdoll, hitting the bonnet of the car, and then her body landing on the road.

Jackson felt frozen in place, unable to move. He knew that he was in shock, and when his feet decided to move, Jackson ran over to Emma. Her so-called brother had fallen to his knees, and Jackson could see he was quite upset. Jackson instantly knelt down beside Emma's limb body, seeing cuts and bruises all over her legs, arms, and face. On her head a gash, and on her right leg. Jackson's eyes kept wandering over her body, soon noticing a pool of her blood under her body. This made his eyes grow wider, causing tears to fall.

Jackson watched as the guy checked Emma for a pulse, confirming that she had a pulse, but it wasn't strong. All Jackson could do was look at him, and then back down at Emma. Then the guy began to get really emotional, swearing and going on again about Emma being his sister. Jackson began to wonder if this guy was really her brother. While Marcus called 911, Jackson decided to try and talk to Emma, hoping that she might still be conscious. Putting his hand through her hair, pushing it back off her face, he quietly spoke, still with tears streaming. "Emma, sweetie, can you hear me? I am here, and not going to leave until I find out of you are okay."

Looking again at her body, which was rather beaten up, fresh tears began to fall. Jackson began to uncontrollably cry right there on the spot, not knowing what else he could do to help his lover. The guy who had hit her, had gotten out of his car, and stood back as Jackson huddled over Emma. Feeling rather angry inside now, Jackson stood up, and walked over to the driver. "What were you thinking? You could have seriously killed her. I hope for your sake she doesn't, or I will do something about it." With that Jackson shoved the guy, and went back to Emma on the road. At that moment, Jackson heard sirens in the distance.

As Emma stood frozen to the spot trying to figure out why this guy would be hellbent on believing he was her brother, she hadn't heard the car approach her, and she didn't hear her brother's words of warning, as she turned and faced the car, caught in its headlights like a petrified deer, then she was hit with such a force, the pain had been tremendous but she was so shocked with everything that had happened, no screams had escaped her, and then everything went black. That was when she was lying on the road unconscious.

Emma heard nothing around her, everything was black and dead to her. No sound, nothing. It was almost as if she was dead, only she wasn't because there was a pulse. Marcus had said so. However, deep in her unconscious state Emma finally began to hear muffled voices around her. Jackson's of course and the Irish accented guy whom she still didn't know his name but had said he was her brother.

She began to come around slightly, and her eyes flickered opened for a few seconds. "Jacks...sore... I'm...sore." Was all she was able to say, before the pain consumed her and her eyes once again closed, as she lay motionless once more on the road.

As this whole scene was unfolding however, the guy of the car who had hit Emma had gotten out and went over in a state of shock. He was about to apologise and say there really had been nothing he could do, when one of the guys shoved him, yelling at him. "I'm sorry dude, wasn't expecting people to be standing in the road when I pulled round the corner, there was nothing I could do, I swear." The driver said in a panic, as he knew he couldn't very well leave the scene now. He'd had a bit to drink, but he didn't think he was over the limit by any means.

Just then he heard the sirens in the distance, and they were soon there on the scene, ambulance and police. Of course the police immediately made their way over to the driver. "Were you speeding sir?" One of the police guys asked, the driver stumbling over his words, "Ehm, no, no, I wasn't speeding." He replied, and the police guy shook his head.

"You sure about that?" He questioned and then he took out the breathalyser tester. "If you wouldn't mind blowing into this please sir." The guy said, and the driver, shaking, did as he was asked, hoping to God he wasn't over the limit. He stood waiting nervously as the police guy checked the tester, and then the police guy let out a low whistle. "Right, you're over the limit sir, you shouldn't even have been driving." With that, the police man turned the driver around and handcuffed him, getting ready to load him into the police car.
