Henry laughed at Rebekah's comments. Yeah, for once the rules have been twisted and roles were reversed. He followed Rebekah's line of sight to the large yellow M. "Huh, what do you know. There was one nearby the whole time. Go figure." he said.
As he started to walk towards the large M with Rebekah, he got curious. He liked to know more about her. "So you said you have a cat?" he asked.

"Yeah, maybe you just needed someone like me to point out the obvious" Rebekah said, and then began to laugh again. Yeah she had been a little cheeky, but in a funny way, and she hoped Henry knew that.
As they headed toward the big yellow M, Henry started to ask her about her cat. She grinned, as her little cat was her pride and joy and pretty much her only company.
"Yes I have a cat, her name is Snowy, and she'd my little angel, I treasure her, she's pretty much the only thing I have in life who loves me" she said sadly, but it was so very true. Her abandonment issues were coming to the fore now. None of the foster families had ever truly loved her apart from the last family and they had died on her.

Henry laughed. Yeah, maybe he did need someone to point out the obvious for him. Sometimes smart people could do stupid things. He couldn't help himself. He continued walking to McDonalds, watching Rebekah smiled. She seemed nice, but she wasn't his type. He could probably leave it as a close friendship.
Henry smiled sadly. He knew losing loved ones was hard. He was still reeling from his mother and sister's death. "Hey, come on cheer up. Let's just get something to eat and talk about something less depressing shall we?" he asked, trying to avoid any negative subjects.

Rebekah was glad she had met such a sweet guy, he seemed really nice, and he had this fantastic knack of making her feel better and making her smile. It's been a long time since someone was able to make Rebekah smile like that. However, the attraction she thought she had for him, she was beginning to think was more in a sibling way. Like he could be a surrogate brother, most definitely a close friend.
"You're right of course" Rebekah said, they had to get off the topic of sad and depressing things, it wasn't helping them to be all down about things. They were only moments away from McDonalds now, and Rebekah suddenly felt very childish. Looking at Henry, she began to giggle, "Race you to the door, last one in pays for the next meal" she shouted, as she began to head toward the door of McDonalds.

Henry smiled. Rebekah was someone Henry was definite going to enjoy hanging out with. The only bad part was that they lived on opposite ends of the country. Thinking about that idea, Henry was glad he wasn't going to go for a relationship with her. Long distance relationships never turned out well. He was happy just being a friend.
Henry was wondering what Rebekah was giggling about. When she suddenly issued a challenge for a race, Henry was floored. He was even more shocked to see her running first. "Hey no fair! I don't have any cash!" he called out to her before racing after her. From her head start, it was most likely she would be the winner in this. It was all in good fun any ways so Henry didn't care.

The only thing about trying to be friends with Henry was the distance thing. Not like she could get to where he normally stayed easily enough, other than phasing herself on and off public transport or something. But she'd find a way to stay friends with him, of that she was sure.
She looked back at him, "I said next meal" she shouted, but could hardly run any faster because she was laughing so much. She had to stop, as she ended up being doubled over with laughter. "Sorry, I couldn't resist" she shouted, as she stood bent over trying to get her breath back as well as giggling furiously.
"I don't care if I don't stay in the same area as you, I'll make sure we meet up often Henry, I promise, I need someone like you in my life, someone who'll keep me on the straight and narrow" she said with sincerity.

Henry was glad Rebekah slowed down. A guy could only run so far before passing out. He bent over trying to catch his breath, but ended up laughing too. He was having fun, something he didn't do much now a days. After catching his breath, he straightened himself and held out his hand. "Here, let me see your cell phone for a second." he said.
If he was going to leave, he might as well leave her his number. That way he could just check in on her and vice versa.

Rebekah was laughing so much her stomach and sides were aching. She had to hold her side it was aching so much. She hadn't remembered having this much fun for a long time. It was almost like all her problems were washed away.
When he asked for her cell phone, she didn't question why he wanted it, handing it over with a smile. "It will be good to keep in touch with you" Rebekah said grinning.
"Assuming that's why you want my cell phone, to give me your number?" she asked, unless she'd got it so wrong, and then she'd feel foolish.

Henry gave her a grin before flipping the phone open. He started to dial a number, his eye shifting between Rebekah and the screen. "Actually I just need to call my brother, but I'm happy to know you like me so much." he teased. "Kidding, I'm kidding." he said before saving his number onto her phone.
He smiled at her before turning to his watch. "Call anytime you need anything." He looked up from his watch and smiled. "I've got to get going before my brother freaks. He's kinda protective of me." he said before starting off. "Catch ya later."

"Oh right, then" Rebekah said when he said he had to call his brother, a little disappointed, and then he said he was only kidding and it was to give her his number after all. She grinned, "Alright then"
"You might regret saying that though, the calling anytime thing" she said and laughed. She felt good to have made a friend, someone she felt she could trust.
"That's fine Henry, it was great to meet you and become your friend, I should be getting back to feed Snowy anyway" she said, waving at him. "Bye Henry, see you around sometime" she shouted as he began to walk away from her. She headed in the direction of what would be home, with a smile on her face.
