26th May 2009 Jake was doing a lot of thinking on the way to the Las Vegas Police Department. What would happen when what the statements were seen as the truth? Would would happen when Jake went through trial, and was found guilty? All these things just led to one place: Jail. Did Jake really want to go down this road at this age? It just made any plans he had wanted to fulfil down the track go out the window, literally. There were no sirens on either of the police cars as they headed down the busy main road in Las Vegas. Though maybe it was for the best. He like the attention, but not this kind. Jake just shook his head, thinking about the guy he bought the drugs from. Once he hears that Jake got caught, Reefer would probably make sure that there was enough space between them, so that there was no trace of them ever doing any business. That was Jake's worst fear. He still wondered whether those numbers on that card Reefer gave him were in fact real. Only time would tell when he tried them for his one phone call. Soon enough, the car came to a stop. Jake looked around, and saw that there were a few cops hanging around the entrance of the building. Great. The cop that was driving the car got out, and came around to unlock Jake's door, and then roughly pulled him out. This time Jake hit his head. Anymore injuries to add to the already growing list. Jake winced a bit at that, and was continually pulled along by his upper arm. He went up the stairs, trying not to stumble, and then they went through the main doors, and then up to the main desk. The policewoman at the desk eyed Jake off. "So this is the drug dealer? He can go out the back. The boss is waiting." She used her head to point in the direction of out the back. Jake just rolled his eyes as he was once again dragged along. They soon stopped at a big brown door, with some glass at the top. The cop opened it, and Jake was faced with the wall where the mug shots were taken. Now he wondered how this would pan out. Maybe he should make a run for it when the cops took off the handcuffs. But what with all those cops outside, he doubted he would get very far. He was ushered over quite roughly again to go and stand in front of the wall. Jake wondered if he was to be a smart ass in front of the camera, would they still take his photo? There was only one way to find out. The photographer told Jake to stand up straight in front of the wall. Jake looked at him seriously. "Okay." Then Jake looked all suave, and pouted his lips. The cop who had brought Jake in, just rolled his eyes, and said sarcastically, "Lovely." Then Jake was told to turn to the right. When Jake turned back again to face the camera. "So do I look sexy in that shot?" The only response he got was from the cop, as he pushed him out the door, leading to the holding cells out the back.

The police officer allowed Brendan to travel in one of the cars seeing as he had been on feet when he went to the Casino. He sat in the back in silence as they made their way to the Las Vegas Police Department. Brendan did begin to wonder how long he would have to be there for, and if Jake would try to be smart with any of his answers.
Not long after the car in front came to a stop, the car Brendan was in, did the same thing. He stepped out, and nodded his head toward the officer. "Thanks fer the lift." The officer nodded his head at Brendan, "Least we can do, if you'd like to come this way." Brendan smiled at the officer and followed him into the Police Department. He got inside just in time to see Jake be taken to get his photograph taken. He heard him being smart, which Brendan had half expected. He didn't say anything, but shook his head.
He had to laugh at how heavy handed Jake was being treated, Brendan still wished he had been able to do more damage to him, but figured, what good would it have done him anyway? He may have ended up inside himself, and he wasn't about to let that happen. He might be protective of his friends and family and stand up for them, but he wasn't daft enough to get himself thrown in a cell defending their honour. He had ways of doing it to stop it from getting that far.
After being left by himself for a few moments, he saw one of the police officers who seemed to be dealing with Jake, he walked up to them, "So when d'ya wanna start takin' ma statement from me?" The sooner he get back to Stacey the better, but he was going to make sure he took a note of anything he could for the article he was going to print on that son of a bitch.
{ooc - wasn't sure where we were heading with this - if you wanted me to npc the cops speaking to Brendan, or if you wanted to npc them? sorry lol}

The police officer, who was dealing with Jake, whose name was Robert, turned to acknowledge what Brendan said. "Sir, we will sit down with you in a few moments. We just need to make sure that this guy is now right in the lock up before we start talking to you." With that Robert turned and walked towards the lock up.
Here Jake was just walking to the holding cell. There were five cells in all. There was one occupied with a guy sleeping in it. He looked like bum, so he was probably sleeping off his booze or something. Jake was stopped outside the last cell. One cop unlocked the door, and swung it open. He was then taken inside the cell roughly, and then the cuffs were taken off again, and the cop walked out, closing the cell shut. Jake turned and heard the cell lock. "So, no last meal or something?" He only got a pack of laughter from the cops, before they closed the door to the holding area.
The cops came out, and Robert headed over to the Brendan. "If you could come with me, and I will get your statement." Robert walked towards the small room in the back of the police station, and once Brendan was in, he closed the door. Robert sat down in the chair opposite Brendan at the rectangle table. "Okay. How this is going to work, is I will just ask you for your side of the story from tonight, and then will ask you about why you there. We did hear what you said earlier, but if you want to just tell me from the beginning what happened, and what this Jake guy has done."
While Brendan gave his statement, Jake was pacing back and forth in the celle he was being held in. He then decided that this was not getting done what he should be doing. Jake then remembered something about how he should get one phone call. Just as that thought popped into his head, The main door to the room opened, and another cop came in. He walked over to Jake's cell, and smiled. "I guess it is your turn to give your statement. But I am sure that whatever you say will not matter really."
Jake raised his eyes brows, and just shook his head. "Whatever. I think I will have a lot to say about the situation. There is a lot, though, as you said. Who wants to hear a supposed criminal." With that Jake was lead out of his cell, and out into the open of the police station. As they walked to another room for questioning, Jake saw Brendan giving his own side of the story. He caught his eye, and nodded his head, smirking. The cop who was taking him to the room, shoved him. "Keep going." In no time, Jake was sitting in the other room, sitting down. "Before I begin, I would love a hamburger with the lot."
{ooc - it's alright Mands. We can both ncp them, as I presume we both know what the outcome is for poor Jake lol}

"Sure, no problems Officer. I'll jus' sit here then till yer ready fer me." Brendan said, as he sat down in one of the chairs opposite the reception desk of the police department. Brendan then watched as the officer then went to take Jake into one of the holding cells. Well at least he was going to get what he deserved thought Brendan.
He was still pretty pissed at what he had done to Stacey, but knew that violence rarely solved anything, even if he did end up getting a few punches into Jake, but he was provoking Brendan so it was well deserved in Brendan's eyes. Nobody messes with his family and friends and gets away with it. Nobody. Hopefully Jake would be found guilty of this crime and get thrown behind bars, even if it did only end up being for a few weeks. It was better than nothing, and Brendan would now be more careful of him, to make sure he doesn't hurt any of his family again.
Just then the police officer approached Brendan again, so he stood up, and when he told Brendan to follow him, he nodded his head in acknowledgment. "Fine, I'll tell ya anythin' ya wanna hear." He gave the officer a weak smile and followed him through to a room which could only be called an interview room or for want of a better word interrogation room.
Basically Brendan had to repeat what he had said earlier at the casino, but that didn't bother him in the slightest. He wanted this Jake guy to go down, and if repeating what happened was what it took, then so be it. "Well, las' nigh' me an' ma girlfriend were in tha' casino bar, an' she began to feel ill. Don' know if ya know abou' us Evolved Humans or not, but she ain't one of us, but not long after she started feelin' ill, her hands were ablaze. Which is the work of an ability called Pyrokinesis an' damn dangerous. There was no way it jus' suddenly appeared or happened. So I went back to the casino today to start askin' questions, an' tha' Jake, well he migh' have tried to evade it at first, but I knew there was somethin' suspicious abou' him, an' when I went round to the bar an' I know I shouldn' have, but I was damn angry, an' well the vial fell outta his pocket."
Brendan took time out for a break then, as he realised just how much he'd said without taking a proper break. Robert then gave Brendan a weak smile, "And what happened then sir?" Brendan took in a deep breath, and rubbed at his temples before continuing.
"Well, I was already angry, but findin' out tha' it was him who'd spiked her drink, well I lashed out at him, wrong I know, but like I said, I was damn angry. One of the other barmen came out then, an' took the vial, an' then the manager was on the scene, an' well, tha's when y'all arrived." Brendan finished explaining. Wondering if there was anything else the officer would want to know, he wondered how Jake was getting on in his little holding cell.
Just at the point Brendan happened to look out of the room as Jake was walking past about to be questioned. He just frowned and sneered at him, as Jake nodded his head and smirked at Brendan. He quickly averted his eyes away, he didn't want any more trouble. He just hoped that Jake would tell the truth, although with the tough time he had at the casino before, he doubted he would tell the truth.
Meanwhile in the other room, Richard, one of the other Officers was now taking Jake's statement. Or at least he was about to until Jake smart mouthed him. Richard slapped the back of his head with his hand. "No need to be smart, we might see about getting you something to eat when you start co-operating. So, Jake, why don't you start telling us your side of events." Richard asked, as he walked round to the other side of the desk and sat down, leaning back in his chair, and pressed record on the tape recorder.

Jake couldn't get the look on the guy's face out of his head as he sat in the other room. The snear was funny to him. It made Jake think that it was good where he was. If there was no cops around, he might have been given another blow by the other guy. He had had more over the last few years, but he could really give Jake a good bunch. And he didn't feel like being doubled over in pain while the cops mocked him.
Jake turned to Officer Richard. He thought he would be smart, and ask for some food. That was when Richard slapped him over the back of his head. Jake just rolled his eyes. "So if I play nice I will get a reward?" Jake pouted and thought about that arrangement. Officer Richard just rolled his eyes. He had had enough of this guy, and he had only been dealing with him for only minutes. "Just answer me." This was just wasting the time.
Jake then decided to cooperate after all. He saw the tape recorder's record button pushed down, and he cleared his throat. "Okay. So I was working a job at the casino as a barman. I did in fact see this guy, who was there today, and this girl with him. I had no idea that this stuff was going to do that to her. I swear. The guy I got it from, Re ..." Jake stopped there. He didn't think it was right to dob in Reefer, so he hoped that the cop didn't here him hesitate, and continued. "The guy I bought the drugs from never spoke of any side effects. If I had known that it did all of this, I would have told them where to shove it." So Jake confessed. He was the one in possession of the drugs. Now he was going to go down.

After Brendan had told his side of events to Officer Robert, he gave Brendan a nod of the head, and what appeared to be an understanding smile. Hopefully a good sign thought Brendan, despite the fact he'd got a few punches into the son of a bitch who had spiked Stacey's drink. He watched as Robert pressed the stop button on the recorder after Brendan had said everything.
"Alright Mr. Harris, you do know that you did take the law into your own hands, and by assaulting Mr. Hanniger you actually did a very wrong thing, but I understand your situation and I understand why you did what you did, and on that, we will just give you a warning with a caution. Next time you feel something like this has gone down, bring it to us right away."
Brendan let out a silent sigh of relief, for a moment, he wondered if he would have got arrested for the punches he had got into Jake. But really the guy had deserved it. Hopefully after this Stacey would never be hurt again, and if she was, then he'd probably still go defending her honour, but he'd try and remember not to take the law into his own hands at least.
Officer Robert then stood up, putting his hand on Brendan's shoulder, "You're free to go, but if you want to just wait outside, we can possibly tell you the outcome for Mr. Hanniger soon." Brendan nodded his head, gave the officer a slightly warmer smile than the weak one he had given him before, and went outside to sit in the foyer of the police station.
Back in the room with Jake, he was still being smart to Officer Richard, and he hadn't been letting him away with it. He was now listening to what he was telling, and he was confessing, which was a good sign for Mr. Harris waiting outside, it meant his story stood up, not that Richard had doubted the Southerner, the other one, Hanniger had a look about him which made him guilty of drug possession and the possibility of being guilty of so much more they would probably never know about.
Richard was sure that Hanniger had stumbled over a name, when talking about the person he got the drugs from. "What were you going to say there?" But he noticed how quickly he had moved on from what he had almost said. So Richard continued to listen to the rest of what the guy had to say. "So, it would have been alright if the drugs didn't have any side effects? Are you off your god damned head?" Richard sighed deeply and rubbed at his eyes, before looking back at the asshole shaking his head. "Drugs are drugs, side effects or no side effects, you did the wrong thing and I think you know it." This guy was seriously going to go down for what he did, and would serve him right, messing with drugs was not a sensible thing.

Jake felt that he had stopped being cheeky and a smartass now. He knew that he had confessed about the drug possession, and to have spiked the woman drink. So he just waited now to be read his rights. Officer Richard clicked off the record button, and put a hand roughly on Jake's shoulder. "I will be right back. Don't think about leaving. Actually don't even think. Where you will be going, you will have time to do a lot of thinking." With that Officer Richard laughed, and then headed out the door.
Jake glanced his way as he headed out the door. All he could do was shake his head. He would definately ask Officer Richard if he was getting his only phone call. He so needed to check out that number that Reefer had given him. All Jake could do now was just sit back in the very uncomfortable chair, and drum his fingers on the table. He had seen a lot of movies to see what jail was like, but he knew that they were only sugar coating what it actually was like.
Officer Richard came out, and headed over to Officer Robert. "Well the son of a bitch confessed to possession and to drugging that poor girl. But I think he has a name of the person who sold the drugs to him. Though Hanniger won't give it up." Officer Robert just shook his head. "Well I am sure when his trial date comes up, he will spit it out. And then we can get a hold of who is dealing this drug out to be sold." Officer Richard then turned to go and speak with Brendan.
"Mr. Harris. We have just questioned Hanniger, and he has confessed to what you have told us in your statement. We will definately keep in contact with you, as to what has been happening with this situation. I am sure that you and your girlfriend will have to be present at the trial for him unfortunately. Just to put your two cents were in."

Brendan had no idea what was happening with Jake Hanniger as he had now gotten the name of the guy in full, he could definitely do a news breaking story, and he would. He certainly hoped to do a news breaking one after the trial as well, even though he didn't know if Jake was being charged yet or not, but he had a feeling he would be charged. He had to be charged, Brendan wouldn't be happy until he saw that son of a bitch behind bars for what he did to his Stacey.
He soon saw the Officer who was in with Jake come out and talk to the Officer who had been talking to himself. He tried straining his ears to listen to what was being said, but he couldn't really make it out. It was at moments like this, Brendan sometimes wished he had the superhuman ability, or enhanced hearing or something like that. However, it didn't take too long for the Officer who had been in with Jake to approach Brendan. He looked up at the Officer then from where he was sitting and listened to what he was being told.
Brendan nodded his head in several places, to acknowledge he was indeed listening to what was being said. When the Officer was finished, Brendan stood up and held his hand out for the Officer, "Thanks fer everythin', ya've no idea how good it feels to know he's fessed up an' will get wha's comin' to him. An' yeah, I guess we'll be there at the trial, wanna make sure tha' son of a bitch gets wha' he deserves." He knew it would be tough on Stacey, but he'd be there for her and Brendan was certain they could get through anything, so long as they were together.

Jake looked around the room he was being held in. He knew that his life would be different now, knowing that he would have a criminal record for the rest of his life. Jake wondered where he had gone wrong in his life to deserve all the shit that had been thrown at him, up to this point in time. How could he have made things different? Maybe not have decided to buy those drugs off of Reefer, that was where he should have stopped his bad behaviour. Or maybe those nights when he would just sleep with different women.
Officer Richard then came in, with a stern look in his face. "Okay, Jake Hanniger." This did not sound good at all. "Stand up please, and put your hands behind your back." All Jake could do was to abide by what he said. So Jake put his hands behind his back, as he stood up from his chair. Soon enough, Officer Richard slapped the handcuffs around Jake's wrists. Jake was then led out the door.
As he was walked out of the room, there were a few cops at desks, looking at his direction, or just turning around to get a glimpse at the guy who had the drugs on him. Jake looked around with no expression on his face. But then he saw the guy who had found him out about the drugs. Jake smuggly looked at Brendan, but knew better than to speak to him, in case he got another punch in. He hoped that he got to see Brendan's little girlfriend again. She did seem like a nice piece of sweet thing he would like to fuck. But where he was going, he would get none of that action for some time.
Officer Richard then led Jake outside, and put him into a police car. Before he shut the door on Jake, he turned and laughed. "Well I hope that you enjoy your stay, where you are going. You won't have it has easy has you have just had it here." The door was then slammed, and they were soon on their way.

{ooc - the way you worded your post, I'm gonna reckon this Bren post will finish it.}
After Brendan stood up and shook the Officer's hand who had been speaking to him, Brendan soon saw Jake be brought out, handcuffed. This put a look of satisfaction on Brendan's face, just knowing that he was handcuffed and got charged, now he just had to hope that he was found guilty at the trial. He didn't want Stacey to have gone through what she went through for nothing.
However, he caught the smug look Jake gave him, luckily he didn't try to say anything to Brendan, just as well, because he might not have been able to contain himself or his anger. Brendan couldn't just let it go without saying something though, looking at him with a look on his face of disgust and disapproval, "Yer gettin' all ya deserve, ya son of a bitch." With those words said, Brendan waited until he saw Jake be put into the car to be taken to the slammer. As the car drove off, one of the Officers approached Brendan with a friendly smile on his face, "You're free to go now Mr. Harris, would you like a lift home?"
Brendan gave the Officer a look of gratitude, "Yeah, tha' would be great, if ya don' mind. Wanna get home to ma Stacey as soon as possible." The Officer, nodded his head, "No problem Mr. Harris." With that, Brendan followed the Officer out to the car and he was soon on his way back home and he couldn't wait to just hold Stacey in his arms.
