November 4, 2008 With her job back and her pay better Elle seemed to glide when she walked. A new bounce was in her step and she glowed positively. And so did the guy that she just killed he was far too dangerous to have around. His power over the body was almost that to that slime ball. Eric Doyle. She remembered how before he was bagged and tagged he made Meredith have a 'lovely' night with him. Then the Company rescued her and knocked him out. Some good times and adventures. But know as she walks through D.C. Elle finds herself bored. She first stopped to get a smoothie and frowned as she slurped the mango goodness. Then as she watched people go by she stood up wanted to explore a little more. Tossing the empty plastic cup into the trash can Elle began to walk once more her black heels clicking. Today she wore a dark red jacket, black polo and black jeans. Simple right? She thought so. Stopping in the middle of a less crowded place she sat on the bench sighing. How dull was this, Well it wasn't a total waste. Elle thought thinking back to the guy she killed leaving his body to rot. But she will call the Company to pick it up, let them get their hands a little dirty. Looking at the birds she tilted her head her blue eyes watching one small one fighting for some bread crumbs. "Cute." where the words that exited Elle's lips then a smile formed. Maybe she shouldn't have been to eager to take the job back. No. This was for the best she knew it. With Peter and Sylar together the disasters could be endless. So Elle would do whatever she could.

James Ward was one of many things. He was a supportive brother, a writer, and a surfer. But of all the things he was, James was not a patient person. Waiting had not been one of his finer points. He hated waiting on something. It drove him bonkers. Especially if what you had to wait for was a politician. Don't get him wrong. James enjoyed politics, but he did not like having to do a paper on them. Especially if his editor wanted a tabloid article.
James had been sent out from New York all the way to D.C. to try and get some dirt on any of the two running candidates. He had tried to get out of it, but his sleazy boss had forced it onto him. James would rather be doing some more important work, but not today.
After waiting here for god new how long, James started to absently play with his own shadow. After finding out he could make his shadow come to life, James had often found himself playing with it whenever he was bored. And right now, he was beyond bored. And just think, he had to cover the election which was in a couple of days.

Leaning on a cold metal pole that ran shivers down her back Elle looks across the street. She looked at a guy who seemed to be having fun and was wondering how. Looking down she saw the shadow move. She knew that power, "Umbrakinesis." she said under her breath. As cars zoomed past her she took a step in the middle of the street. Once everyone was by of course.
"Hi there."Elle said looking at the guy flirtatious smile on her face. She curled a few strands of blond hair around her middle and ring fingers. This could cure her absolute boredom. Really she wanted to see how he reacted to her being there. And see if he gets squeamish. "What is a cute guy like you doing out here all alone?"
Looking back down with a shadow she almost giggled, but held it back. She wasn't going to hurt this guy, not unless he was going to attack her. Then he is as good as dead. "So, do you have a girlfriend." Direct as always Elle smile grew slightly bigger. What could this cutie pie do to her anyway? She might be pretty and sexy, but that did not mean that she wasn't dangerous.

James had been so focused with playing with his shadow that he almost didn't hear someone approach him. When he heard a voice call out to him, James looked up. His attention diverted, his shadow returned to normal. The young man's attention was on the blond in front of him. She had to admit, she was pretty. His eyes was focused on her choice of clothing. And from what she was saying, she seemed to be the flirtatious type too.
"Nope, don't have a girlfriend." James replied. "You got a boyfriend?" he asked, quirking an eyebrow. He didn't meet too many out going people that often. Now a days, if someone was being this out going, there was always a hidden motive. It was probably the only thing being a reporter had taught him. However, James was going to let that idea slide and see where this would go.
"As for what I'm doing here, well, I could ask you the same question." he said, leaning back against the bench he was sitting on. James put his arms across the bench and he watched her. Most girls he met weren't this out going. He was going to enjoy this.

James was shocked at that was a very lovely reaction to get. That is what happens when someone doesn't pay attention. Elle moved closer to James and got a good look at him. A really handsome man at that was a real plus. Then he asked her a question how nice of him. "No boyfriend. How sad sad me." She pretended to wipe away a tear.
"I'm here on business. Old boring dull business. Well actually business trip." And how Elle lied. She wasn't bored with what she just did. A nice breeze blew her hair to the side. Brushing it back behind her ear she laughed a little. "Sorry it is just been so long since I've been around a guy. Women prison is so hard."
Staring at James seriously she laughed again, "I'm messing with you." she finally said. Its been a while since she's been in a real relationship with anyone. When was the last time she was in a relationship? Elle couldn't remember she usually just flirted with people.
Nothing serious but she could always change. It could actually be extremely fun to go steady. This could be a very good thing to add in her diary.

James grinned at her. Pretty single girl, nice. James wasn't a womanizer like his brother, but he could still flirt right? And from the attitude he was getting from this one, he knew he was definitely going to like her. She had spunk and James liked a woman with spunk. When she said she had been in women prison, he laughed.
"Let me guess? You got sent their for killing a guy with your good looks?" he asked. She told him she was messing with him and smiled. "Really? Could've fooled me." he said honestly. He hadn't meant it in a mean way, just a flirtatious way.
"It's nice to know you didn't go to jail though. Pretty face like your's doesn't belong behind bars." James said. He held out a hand. "Names James by the way. James Ward."

Chucking from his comment about being in jail Elle was really starting to like this guy. Then she thought of how she said how she killed a guy. No I killed him by electrocuting him to death. He set on fire. And then ran around like his head was cut off. She thought. Such good memories of her time with the Company. She could see that this guy was going to be fun.
When he held out his hand she was debating on shocking him or not. Elle could always blame it on stored static electricity. Nah. Not this time she would try to contain herself. Try real, real hard to contain herself. So she at last shook his hand with no shocking. This time. "Elle Bishop. James Ward." Introducing herself.
"So are you attached to that bench or can you move?" she teased before letting her hand slip and her body lean across before walking off. Looking back she obviously wanting him to follow.

James watched her walk off. A little disappointed that she would just leave him hanging like that. James suddenly realized she wanted him to follow when he turned back. Oh how he wanted to follow her, but he just couldn't leave his post now could he. A good journalist should always stay at their post. Oh who was he kidding. There was no way a candidate for president would be out today. Worst case scenario was that he missed a fight between to senators.
James stood up from the bench and walked after Elle. He definitely liked this girl. She had attitude. And she knew how to work a guy too. James caught up with her and began walking at a steady pace. "So, what are you doing in D.C?"

Looking back Elle notice how it was taking forever for James to get the hint. "Boys."[/i] she thought before grinning as he finally got the ever so present hint. "Oh not much. Just business. I get to meet many new and different unique people." she said giving him hints to nothing he could ever guess to. "And what about you? Someone like you who just sits around for what? What are you a stalker?" she teased.
It wasn't as if Elle hasn't sat out of a many of houses waiting for her prey. Or client. To come out for a 'business card'. Well actually there have been times she did recruit for the Company. Those were the slow boring days. No matter how much she hated it she did it all for her dad. She wanted to please him so much.
Nothing in the world mattered as much as his approval. How she craved it. But that is all different now. He was dead and now she had to go and live her life. And that is why Elle is going to try this true dating thing out.

James was curious at what type of business Elle was working for. HE didn't know many businessmen or women who just hang about doing nothing. It was suspicious, or perhaps it was just his protective side getting the best of him. James had been so worried about protecting his brother that sometimes he would get suspicious of innocent little things. He remembered one time where he thought a squirrel was spying on him for the CIA.
Paranoia aside, he was still curious about her job. When she called him a stalker, James simply chuckled. "No, I'm not a stalker. I'm a field reporter. The newspaper I'm working at wanted me to try and get some dirt on either Senator that are running for president. So far, no luck." he replied. It was obvious from the tone of voice that he didn't particularly enjoy his field of work.
James couldn't help it really. You did what you have to to support a family. Even if that family is just you and a seventeen year old teenager. "I also have to stick around for election day too. Lucky me huh?"

"Field reporter...Stalker all the same thing really." Elle said with with a giggle. He was doing a story on the Senators how interesting to bad he didn't know one was dead. Or will be. Thanks to her being in the loop with the Company it gave her more future and current information. Sometimes he got lost in dealing with it. From going to the 'now' to the 'then' and back again. She was almost glad her power was just to shot out electricity.
"Wow a whole boring election. Well I know for a fact that the people you will be looking for won't appear for like a whole five hours. So take a break." Elle suggested. Really didn't have one idea for when they were coming. Nathan Petrelli was Angela's son so she couldn't have him bring up any type of dirt. She could easily stall him, Angela could think of it as a thank you gift. She really didn't know much about politics.
Nor did Elle really care about it, it really didn't involve with her life yet. She was protected by something higher than the government...or so she thought. "I think you need to take a break. And Elle knows best trust me." She walked closer up to him then grabbed him up by his collar bringing him face-to-face to her. "What do you think?" asking with a face of sadness on her.
How it was easy for Elle to switch from emotion to emotion. Almost like controlled mood swings, but it made her a more convincing liar.

Maybe she was right. Maybe he did need a break. After all, he had been out there for god knows how long. His contact had told him someone would show up, but so far nothing. He really didn't feel like waiting all day. Hell he hated waiting a few minutes let alone hours. Maybe he should just trust Elle, well trust to an extent. He didn't feel like trusting anyone with his whole life story, let alone someone he just met.
How Elle knew how long his...well...prey were going to take was a shocker. Who was this chick? Did she have some higher level of contact or something? Was she part of the government and was just trying to make him take his eyes off the Senators? He turned back to look at his post to see if any of the candidates were slipping past him.
He then felt a tug at his collar and the next thing he knew he was staring Elle in the eyes. Oh god, she had a sad, weakened look on her face. Of the things that made him weak and think, his brother and sad girls the top of the list. His brother being his weakest point and girls, well any guy in his family had hearts out to girls. Especially sad girls. He gave in.
"Alright. I'll take a break from my 'stalking'." he said pitifully.

Smiling a devilish smile at James up close when he agreed Elle was happy. Letting him go she walked backwards. "So what do you really want to here in D.C. James I know you don't want to just go and sit." she asked him. She was going to make this worth his wild make him let his hair down. Well if he really had hair to let down. Those slightly curly hair was so cute. And Elle could get lost in that sweet smile.
Really he was going to get in his head, Elle already knew of his ability, but he didn't know she had one. And from what Elle knew from what she saw in James's eyes was of curiosity. And being a reporter or some sort it was obvious he wanted to know who she was. But he might not never know or could know. There was a fifty-fifty chance of course. She liked to be a little shy and keep some information undercover.

James thought for a minute. There really wasn't anything to do here in D.C. He wasn't into anything that was hear. The only reason he had agreed to go besides being forced was that he would get paid a lot for it. He didn't think about anything else to do. He heard there was a theme park here, but with his cash, there was no way.
"Beats me. Personally I'd like to go surfing, but I don't think there are any beaches with killer waves here." he said. Memories of his old home town flooding back. Grinning, he asked, "you got any civilized ideas?" He could tell Elle might want to make things...wild, but James respected women and wasn't going to go that far the first date. Well, if this counted as one.

Elle's cellphone began to ring she picked it listening to it attentively she bit her lower lip. Of course when I begin to have a good time...[/i] she thought bitterly. Sighing she snapped her phone shut before nodding her head thinking about the situation. "You know what my dear Jamesy," Elle started to say stopping in the middle of her walk and turning on her heel. "Go back to your boring thing that you have to do. I mean that sarcastically. How 'bout I call you or you call me."
Pulling out a pen and a card she began to write her number down then placed it in his back pocket. "You call me when ever you want. I got to go. Another job in another city. Hope to meet you later James." smiling she ran off. She was a very odd girl indeed...
