Peter was wanting to take a break from his group of villians. Though it is fun, especially destroying the Starbucks the day before. He also gained a new ability that day from Sylar, gravitational manipulation.
He was walking to the local Hendersons Hardware Store. This was the place in which he selected to cause some destruction of his own. The building was built not even a year ago and when he was through with it it wouldn't even resemble what it had looked like.
Peter entered the building, locking the door behind him. He turned around to face the rest of the store and its occupants. An evil grin widened upon his face as his hands flaired up with bright blue flames. Peter swung a fire ball towards a shelf just to show he wasnt kidding. The shelf was filled with books and other paper items. This caused it to fall over and completely up in flames.

Taryn had gone to the Hardware Store that day as an errand for his father. He was doing some stuff and apparently they were out of some necessary stuff that he needed to complete that task. Ok, so Taryn wasn’t exactly sure what his father was doing, nor was he exactly sure what he needed from the Hardware Store. But he had gone all the way out here and was already in the store when he realized that he had forgotten. So he would probably just say that he went, but he didn't find what his father had asked for. It wasn’t a complete lie. He didn't remember what he asked for so therefore he couldn’t possibly have found it.
Taryn walked by the front door, a few yards away, and he saw a man standing there with grin on his face. His smile scared him a little bit, it was…dark, evil. He began to walk away, he was getting spooked. He got most of the way to a shelf when that same shelf blew up in blue flames. He fell over and watched as the shelf fell and burned to ash in a blue inferno.
Taryn quickly got up and looked over to where he thought the cause of the flames came from. He was terrified, but he wasn’t surprised when he saw that same man there with flames in his hand that were the same color as the ones that struck the shelf. He ran away from there and hid behind another aisle of items. He sat on the floor and touched his index and middle fingers to his lip, it was bleeding slightly. He rolled his eyes. “WONDERFUL!” he yelled. He guessed this was the type of person his parents warned him about when they said that not everyone chose to use their gifts wisely.
He turned his head and peered around the side of the aisle, he was still pretty close to the guy and he got a good look at his face. If he got out of this he would have to find this guy later he supposed. Although it wouldn’t do much good, all he could do was make illusions. He guessed that he would have to be creative on how he used his power. That is if he was planning on getting out of here. So he started to think, all the while still looking at the man.

Screams filled the store as the burning shelf continued to incinerate itself. He loved the sounds of screams, it reminded him of so much. The horror he has caused since a year ago. A year ago today, was when he came to the darkside. Though there was still the good Peter in him, locked away deep down.
Peter craved more as the screams continued. Peter picked up a small noise. But it was to loud that he couldn't center on the sound. "Silence!" he yelled. Noise of a radio of some sort. He listened in and heard, "Henderson's Hardware Store." Peter began to walk towards the sound. He walked from aisle to aisle. People on the ground scared for their lives. He came up to the last aisle. There it was, a police man whispering into a walkie talkie. Peter thrusted his hand back, making the radio fly out of the mans hands. "I really wish you hadn't." he said, "I want to let you know that all who dies today, will be on your consious." He then lifts the man into the air. Peter walked towards the officer with the officer's radio in hand. "So what do you think you should do?" he asked the officer.

Taryn was quiet when the man yelled for silence. He was not about to defy a man with blue flames coming out of his hands. From every science class he has ever taken he remembered that the bluer flame the hotter it was. But he wondered what he was listening for. Taryn couldn’t hear anything. All he heard was his footsteps as he walked up and down the aisles. What is he looking for? Taryn thought. Why is he even here? Of all the places in Costa Verde to blow up he picks a Hardware Store? Hasnt he ever heard of a bank? Geez, this isnt good.
While Taryn was going on his mental rant he noticed that the psycho found who he was looking for. He didn't want anyone to die right now. Especially since he could be one of the people he picks first. Taryn sighed a small sigh. He was going to have to be creative.
He thought for few seconds before taking action. The man was pretty far away so he moved quickly but quietly through the aisles so that he could get a better view for what he was about to do. He stopped maybe two or three aisles away and he got to do what he did best. His eyes focused and became a little brighter, appearing to glow and he made the illusion of another policeman behind this person. He was holding a gun and everything. But it took more time since he made it out of thin air. It would have been better if he could have disguised an object rather than make it out of thin air. But it would still seem real, because as far as he knew it was. His illusions deceived all five senses.
“Freeze!” it yelled forcefully. ”Put the man down!”

Peter was confused as he heard them police yell "freeze". He didn't even hear him come up to him. Did this man no his powers? Was this man apart of Angela's mess? He turned around to reveal that it was just a cop. A man with a badge and the gun to go with it. He laughed. "Are you serious?" he asked.
He raised his left right hand towards the shelves and made a vortex. This vortex was the size of a basketball. So it wasnt that dangerous, but it would cause panic to the officer. Before doing that he through the talkie into it to show what it could do. Then he used his telekinetic ability to manuever the gun into the vortex.

Taryn had not really thought his plan out all the way through. But he had to do something right? He could not just do nothing. Not when he knew there was a chance he could maybe, possibly, in some way, save everyone. Well, this is what was going through his mind at the moment. He was trying to keep himself from just running out of here, which he would have done if he was sure he could make it. But he doubted that this guy would just let him go.
Then he saw his little vortex. “What the hell?!” he whispered. He tried not to speak but he just had to say it. He had not seen that before. This was going to be more difficult than he thought. He did not think that it was possible to have more than one power. Well, besides terrifying him it made him a little jealous. “Dumb villain.” he said louder than he would have wanted. He looked back over to where the “cop” stood. His gun was gone and pretty soon he would be too.
Then he got an idea, but it would only work if this guy was distracted. And even then there were so many ways this could go wrong. Well, not really many, but there were still a few ways. Ok, so with his illusions being near perfect there was not many ways it could go wrong. But he was limited here. There were others around and he had to take them into account, then the fact that he was scared out of his mind limited him in the mental department. Not many good ideas were making their way into his brain at the moment. "Crap!" he yelled. He ment for it to be mental but that didnt happen. So he just hoped that the other guy didnt hear.

Peter was laughing his evil as the talkie and gun disappeared into the vortex. Peter was still blind to the fact that the gun and the other officer was just an illusion. He then shoved the officer back to the wall behind him. Then his ability picked up a sound. But it was to small to notice even with his ability. He shrugged it off and turned back to the other officer that was attempting to crawl away. "Where do you think your going?" he said raising your hand and shoving the man with a swift twist of the elbow. The officer came crashing into a shelf. He was hanging upside down, hands dangling around the floor.
"Go-" Peter began but was suddenly interrupted by another noise. Louder this time but still not loud enough. He began to think someone with an ability was here. But he couldn't tell what this someone was doing. But he decided to wait til he heard another noise. Maybe this someone would slip up and give away his position.
He turned back to the officer. "Now as I was saying. Goodbye!" he yelled. As he pointed two fingers to the mans neck. Blood began to drip across his face and through his hair and onto the floor beneath him. The officer screamed in pain as the incision became great. But right for the incision cross the adams apple. A yell came from what seemed like couple shelves behind him. "Found you." he whispered. He let go of the cop, who then crashed to the floor in the puddle of blood that was there. He decided use the domino effect on the shelves. Without using his abilities, he walked towards them and simply pushed them over. Slowly it tipped, eventually crashing into the next and so on. One by one.

Taryn was panicked. He could not have picked a worst time to come here. And he did not have much of a way out. There were too many people there to really use the full power of his illusions. For now the most he could manage was a policeman and that did not turn out too well because the bad guy had to go and have more than one power. But now he was getting impatient, he did not want to stay here and the only thing that was keeping him from making illusions that could give someone a heart attack was the fact that there were other people around.
After a few seconds Taryn heard a crashing sound. He realized, almost too late, that it was the aisles behind him. He turned to see the one he was at start to tip down. He rolled his eyes dramatically and dove out of the way a second before it was too late. He landed on the floor, in the middle of the store, a few yards away from the man who was doing all of this.
Taryn stood up quickly and just stared. He was shaking a little bit, he was not planning on meeting this guy anytime soon. In fact, he hoped that maybe this guy would just see the error of his ways and be on his merry way out of the store by the time he saw him. But apparently that was not going to happen. “Hi,” He said awkwardly. “How’s it going?”

As the shelfs continued to collapse upon each other. Peter noticed a boy jump out of the aisle. Found you. He stared back at the kid as the boy stared at him. He could tell the boy was scared, for he was shaking. The kid then spoke which made him laugh. "I like to have this ability of yours." He then raised his arm attempting to throw the kid against the wall with the ability. Pointing his index and middle finger at the boy. "Oh so easy." He laughed as he began to cut the forhead.

All Taryn could do was nod. Then after a while he spoke. “That’s nice. But you see I kind of like having this ability and if you don’t mind Id rather keep it.” He said, he was about to turn away but he was thrown against a wall. That kind of hurt. But what hurt more was how his forehead was getting cut open? That hurt a lot. He tried to get free but he couldn’t. There was only one thing he could do. “This…really…HURTS!” he yelled, and at that point all that was going through his mind was Screw every one else!
His blue eyes, becoming sharp and filled with anger, focused on the man and he created the illusion of everything being covered slowly in blackness. All that used to be there was now gone. The floor opened up beneath everyone all of a sudden. The only thing holding everyone up was nothing but pillars of rock, he made sure the man holding him up their with his ability had an exceptionally thin pillar. And below, hot , bubbling lava. He could hear the others screams but he didn’t care. If it was his life or their sanity, they lose. “Let me go!” he yelled. He also made it so that it seemed like he wasn’t being carved open.

The floor disappear and was then replaced with lava. Peter became farily afraid, because one false move would cost him his life. "Shit!" He began to think. He liked this ability, but it seemed that this kid is very experienced with it. He thought that he could use this kid. He then lowered his hand which stopped the cutting into the kid's skull and loosening the grip so the kid could move around freely. All while doing this, Peter made slight movements. Still unsure if what he saw was real or just an illusion. "I could use a special person like you on my team." Smiling, he tested the area arround him to see if it was really not there. His foot landed easily on the floor. His mind eased as it tapped the tiled floor, the noise echoing through the store.

Taryn tried to keep up the illusion best he could. But he had a few other things on his mind at the moment. Mostly the fact that his skull was slowly being cut open, it was sort of distracting. He felt the cutting stop and he sighed. It worked, in a way. He was not really trying to become this guy’s new recruit for his band of villains; he didn't think that was going to happen.
And then the illusion started to wane. He tried to keep it up but he was in a sort of tight spot. First it was the floor, the picture was there but it became solid. He realized this when the man stepped on it and he heard the echo of his footstep. Then it became the regular tiled floor that it once was. Next were the walls. The blackness that covered them slowly regressed into nothingness and the shelves and aisles and supplies were all there again. He fell to the ground and felt his forehead. It was bleeding, a lot. Apparently he had stopped just in time. Any farther and he probably would have died.
Taryn looked up and saw this guy. He thought for a few moments. He was not a villain and he never thought that he was ever going to have to make the choice of whether to live as some villain’s lackey or to lose his powers and then die. It was not easy but he had to choose what would keep him alive. He was fifteen; he was not going to die in a hardware store. “OK.” He said a little resentfully. “I’ll…I’ll join you team. Just…I need medical help incase you hadn’t noticed.” He pointed out a little sarcastically. This was going to be a little hard to explain to his parents but he decided he would just tell them as much of the truth as possible.
