20th October, 2008
Meredith Gordon stood at the edge of the street that her biological daughter, Claire Bennet, lived on. The hot Californian sun beat down on top of the pyrokinetic's dirty blond colored hair and a slight breeze wisped across her face. She looked up and down the street once or twice more then went and rested against the bonnet of her car. Meredith flicked a stray hair into place then she began to sigh.
"Now where could that girl have gotten to now?" Meredith wondered aloud, still resting against the bonnet of the car. "She had better not of forgotten our trip to town"
Meredith moved her hand down toward her pocket and pulled out a packet of cigarettes. She pulled one out of it's packet, then replaced the packet in her jean pocket. In a second, she put the cigarette in her mouth and light a small fire in her hands to light it. She sighed once again and stared around the road for her late daughter.

Claire had agreed to go on a trip into town with her biological mother. When Claire found out she had been adopted, she wasn't overly happy about it, and became hellbent on finding out who her birth parents were. Noah had set up a couple to pretend they were her parents but Claire saw right through them. She was shocked however to find out her father was Nathan Petrelli and followed him one day to see if it would lead her to her mother, and it had.
From that moment on Claire started to spend more time with her biological parents trying to get to know them and bond with them. She was bonding more with her father Nathan now, and she wanted to bond more with her mother Meredith. Claire had spent the night with Sam, and hadn't forgotten about her trip to town with Meredith, but just found it difficult getting away from him, because he kept pulling her back into the house every time she tried to leave.
"Sam, come on, Meredith will bite my ass if I don't move" she ended up shouting at him, but laughing at the same time, she rolled her eyes, and gave him one last kiss, "I'll be back soon" she added as she flew out the house and began to run toward Meredith waiting by her car.
As she approached she rolled her eyes, "God I'm sorry Meredith" she began, "Sam, he wouldn't let me leave" she added, and began to laugh. "You ready then?" she asked with a warm smile, as she opened the passenger door of Meredith's car and got inside.

Meredith took a few more drags of her cigarette before tossing it carelessly to the ground and stomping it out. The sun pelted her skin more harshly now as the day dragged onward. But she felt no pain from the heat, a side-effect of being a pyrokinetic. She felt no pain from the heat of flame or sun. She looked to her right and saw her daughter Claire walking toward her.
"God I'm sorry Meredith" she began, "Sam, he wouldn't let me leave" she added, and began to laugh. "You ready then?"
Meredith looked Claire up and down before replying to her. "It's alright" Meredith answered. "Come on now, we gott get a move on"
With that, Meredith got up off of the bonnet of the car and walked around to the driver's car door. She opened it and got in, waiting for Claire to do so also.

Claire smiled softly at Meredith when she said it was alright for being late. Claire hated being late though, she hated keeping people waiting. But Sam was a rather welcome distraction Claire realised and she rather loved it. She loved him.
"Thanks" Claire replied as she got into the car, and looked across at Meredith with a smile. "So what do you have planned?" she asked and then immediately felt terrible, for not even having asked how she was. She bit down on her bottom lip slightly. "How are you? Thanks for taking me into town, I think it will be nice to get to know more about each other" she added with a grin.
She was looking forward to this trip, looking forward to getting to know her biological mother more, just like she had been getting to know her biological father more.
