Saturday 19th September 2009 Jacob had just arrived from New York yesterday, to come and visit his family for the weekend. He had been so busy with getting gigs in the clubs and bars over the last few weeks, that he hadn't had time to visit his mum, dad, and his step-mum. It was a good thing that they all lived in the same area, but sometimes his mum and dad would always disagree about a place to meet. So this visit, he was going to stay with his mum, but visit his dad and step mum on Sunday. He was old enough to understand that things never really worked out for adults when they got married, but he still didn't like seeing them separately. Call him selfish, but he loved them equally. Plus he got some step-brothers out of it all, so he wasn't complaining. He loved Jonathan and Stephen very much, and had bought them a present each, when he saw them tomorrrow. He had had a good day with his mum, and now it was time to have some 'Jacob time'. He thought he would check out the scene that was in Odessa. Jacob had moved to New Your a couple of years ago, and soon realised that nothing much had changed at all. Which was good for a Texan, because he didn't like change very much, and the familiar was good to work with. So he walked down the street to a little club/cafe that he remembered, and stepped inside. Looking around, the room was about half full, but that was fine with Jacob. He wanted some time to himself, and maybe check out any sexy ladies that might be around. Jacob couldn't deny it, he liked the opposite sex, and was always writing songs about them. So it was no surprise that majority of the followers of his music were female. But he was fine with that. Jacob always played up to it on stage, flirty and what not. So Jacob found a seat, near the stage, to checkout the music that would be playing that night. A waitress came over, asking him what he wanted. "Hey sexy. Well, I will have a beer, and some chocolate ice cream thanks." The waitress blushed a bit, and then nodded, walking away with his order. Jacob lent back into his chair, and thought of a song to write for that waitress.

It was four days until Rebekah's nineteenth birthday and she still hadn't seen or heard much from Ryan since he had done a disappearing act. She hated when he did this, especially given the fact that Luke had abandoned her as well. Right now, apart from Angela, her adoptive mother, who was always off doing something or another, Rebekah for the most part was on her own. However one of the good things about being a Petrelli, was that she had quite a bit of money, because Angela had opened a bank account for her and deposited quite a lot of money in it each month.
So, because she basically had nothing better to do with her time, she decided a little trip was in order. She was fed up with New York, especially with no boyfriend or brother to speak to. She wanted to go somewhere she hadn't ever been, and booked a flight for Texas. A southern State, that should hopefully be good for a laugh she thought. She had just basically been walking around, taking in the sights, when she began to get a little thirsty and came across a little cafe/club bistro type place, and looking inside it looked as if it might be a cool place to get a drink.
At least it wasn't an actual nightclub or bar, because then she'd have to try and pretend to be twenty-one and although Rebekah was quite mature for her age, she had a feeling she wouldn't pass as twenty-one, this place she figured she didn't have to be the legal drinking age to get in, and besides, she'd only ask for a fruit cocktail drink anyway.
She walked in and went to the bar and asked for a fresh orange and lemonade. Within minutes she was handed her drink and Rebekah had paid for it, and she then saw a table near the stage which looked like it had a free seat. It also appeared to be the only table which had a free seat from what she could see, either that, or she was just blinded by the guy who was sitting at the table, she was now approaching.
Flashing him what she hoped was a winning smile, "Hey, just wondering if you mind if I sat down here, looks like it's the only table with a free seat." She hoped he wouldn't mind, and that he didn't think she was cramping his style at all, but if he refused, then she figured she'd just have to go stand by the bar or something instead.

Jacob turned and followed the waitress who had taken his order, and smiled to himself. Well it semed that he had definatley missed out on the women who lived in the town. He couldn't remember them being that lusious before. But then maybe he wasn't into girls back then. Jacob couldn't remember when he had started notices girls, as it just seemed like a blur.
Finally the waitress came back with his beer, and his chocolate ice cream. She looked at him, all shy. "Will there be anything else?" Jacob looked away snickering, then looked back at her. "Not at the moment. But I will have to make sure that I get something from you later. Like your phone number." With that comment the waitress smiled, and then walked off giggling to herself. He loved when he was so sure of himself around the females. With guys, it was another story. Some just annoyed the heck out of him. He wondered if he would even bother with trying to find one of his friends that he went to school with. Nope. Ladies come first.
As Jacob took a swig of his beer, he looked around, wondering when the music was going to start. He put his beer glass down on the table, and dug into the ice cream. He moaned at the taste of it. "Oh my God. This tastes so good." Jacob didn't say it loud enough for everyone to hear him, but just enough in case someone was close by. He would make sure that he came here again before he had to head back.
As he looked up from his bowl, his eyes set on another female. His eyes diverted straight to her smile, was was gorgeous in his eyes. He heard what she asked him, and he gave her a smile back. "No. Don't mind at all. Why would I let someone like yourself stand on your own, when I can share the table with you." He pushed his glass and bowl closer to himself. As she sat, Jacob looked her over. Her skin looked rather soft and fair, which was attracting him. Her features were nothing but lovely i his eyes.
"So. You here for the music, or other reasons?" Jacob always liked to speak to the women, asking them questions, as he knew that most like to talk about themselves. He didn't really care. The more information he knew about them, the more he knew how they ticked.

While Rebekah was waiting for her drink, she heard someone behind her say out loud about how good something tasted, Rebekah couldn't help but smile at that. She turned briefly and figured it was the guy who was currently eating ice cream and he was on his own, so he had basically been saying it to nobody in general. Rebekah actually thought that was kind of nice in a funny way. After she had got her drink she had made to sit down and then realised that the only table which seemed to have a free seat was the table of the guy she had heard talking to himself more or less.
She approached him and asked if she could sit, smiling at him. He smiled back at her and then said he didn't mind at all, he then went on to say why would he let someone like herself stand on her own when he could share his table. Her eyes smiled at his words, and yet something inside thought he was coming across as a bit of a charmer. Then again, there wasn't much wrong with that. "Well thank you, and that is very kind of you to say. Have to ask though, what exactly do you mean by someone like myself?" She was curious to know what he was referring to. It couldn't have been a bad thing whatever it was though. Not with the smile he had given her.
She sat down, and immediately took a sip of her drink. She watched from the side of her eye that he was looking her over, and something inside made her involuntarily blush. He then spoke to her, asking if she was there for the music or other reasons. In honesty Rebekah hadn't even known there was going to be any music playing, she just happened to be thirsty and see that she could get a drink in the place.
She tucked some loose hair away from her face, behind her ear, "I didn't even know anybody was playing in honesty." She took another sip of her drink, before continuing, "I'm not actually from here, and was just walking around when I felt thirsty and noticed this place, so I came in." She smiled at him brightly and shrugged her shoulders slightly. She wondered who was playing and if he knew if they were any good. Was he a local himself? "Do you know whose playing? Are they good?" She took another sip of her drink, and began to relax more, as she then looked at him smiling, waiting for his reply.

Jacob was kind of waiting for her to say something about what he said. He waved his hand, "Oh, I didn't mean anything bad by it. Just noticed your looks, and that it would be a shame for you to be standing alone, when there is a perfectly good seat at my table." He hoped that he had cleared it up for her. Jacob wasn't an idiot by any means, he knew that there was more to women than looks. He had met a few of those types that didn't like that he was only after then initially because of their looks. Also met a few hands slapping his face as well.
Jacob couldn't help but let his eyes wander over her body, noticing every angle. But her skin was definately the key thing he noticed, and her smile as well. It just lit up her entire face. When he had asked if she was there for the music, or another reason. Jacob nodded, and then took another mouthful of his ice cream. Once his mouthful was finished, he looked at her. "Oh okay. Well, I am from around here, but moved to New York about two years ago. Just visiting family at the moment."
Then she asked if he knew who was playing, and if they were any good. That smile of hers Jacob was liking very much. "I have no idea. Just decided to hang out here and have some time to myself. But the company is good so far." There went his charms again. Jacob was always like that. Always making sure that the woman was always spoke to, and acknowledged. "But I hope that whoever it is they are good, or we might have to find somewhere else to go to hear some good music."
Jacob put down his spook, and held his hand out. "Name's Jacob. Jacob Bodell" He waited to hear the lovely name of the beautiful lady who was sitting at his table.

Rebekah wasn't quite sure where to look when she'd asked the guy what he meant by his statement 'a girl like you' and he responded. She felt her cheeks flushing furiously. No guy had ever treated her like that before, or said anything like that before. Not even Luke, her last boyfriend who hadn't been in her life now for quite some time. Rebekah had been a very sad young female when Luke had just upped and left with no explanation, and to top it all, Ryan had done a disappearing act on her as well. She then realised she hadn't said anything for a few seconds, "Sorry, I uhm, just never had a guy say anything like that to me for a long time, if at all." She gave him a bright smile, and secretly hoped her blush would die down before she passed out with the excessive heat it was causing. "Thanks."
Rebekah noticed he didn't seem to be taking his eyes off of her, she wasn't sure if that was a good or a bad sign, but it wasn't doing any good for the blush she was desperately trying to get over. She took another huge sip of her drink, hoping the coldness of the drink would cool her down. He had then asked if she was there for the music and after she explained that she was just here on a little trip and felt like a drink. He then told her he was from Texas originally but moved to New York. She couldn't believe that. "Really? What part of New York? I'm from Lower Manhattan myself."
Rebekah had then asked if he knew who was playing and were they any good. He said he had no idea, he had just come to have some time to himself, but the company was good so far. This led to Rebekah blushing again, even more than the first time if that was even possible. She couldn't help but grin, and then bite on her bottom lip slightly, as he finger began to play with her hair. "Well, thank you and likewise." Well she couldn't deny it, his company was rather good as well.
He had then went on to say he hoped they were good, or they might have to go somewhere else to hear good music. Had he just said 'they' might have to go somewhere else? It certainly sounded to Rebekah like this guy might be either hitting on her, or just very suave with the female sex. Either way, Rebekah liked it, it had been a while since she had this much attention thrown her way. "If they are bad, then I am more than ready to go somewhere else with you." Oops did she really just say that? It wasn't like Rebekah to open chat guys up like that.
Where had that come from? He must have been bringing it out in her. She felt herself blush again slightly. It was at that point, he had held his hand out and introduced himself. She took his hand and smiled brightly at him, "Rebekah. Rebekah Petrelli, and it's a pleasure to meet you Jacob Bodell." Her eyes twinkled when she spoke, and she meant every word. She just wondered if her surname would bring out any sort of reaction from him. She remembered the last time she introduced herself to a guy, he'd almost freaked.

Jacob saw that blush come across the girl's face, after he gave her a reason for what he said. Another feature that he thought was cute on her. So it seemed that compliments brought out this emotion, which he mentally kept in mind for future reference, if and when they met up again. Jacob smiled at her, when she spoke about not having a guy say anything like that to her before if at all. Then that smile of hers light up her face, as she thanked h im. "Well, I will have to remember that. Women should always get compliments. Well, that is what I think anyway." Jacob nodded towards her, "And you are welcome."
Jacob took a mouthful of his beer, as the young woman's skin still held the blush that had started when he had complimented her. She took a sip of her drink, as Jacob put down his glass. Jacob had told her that he was originally from Texas, but resides in New York. When she asked him what part, he instantly jumped in. "Midtown. Have my own apartment there. Would love to have a bigger and more expensive one. But you know, money can only buy so much, and don't have a lot of that to flash around." Jacob had hoped that in the past year that someone from a record company would be in the crowd of one of his gigs, but no such luck as yet.
Once again, Jacob's words had seemed to have turned on that blush that she had been showing earlier. Jacob smiled at her, as she played with her hair, and watched that beautiful grin come across her face. The final touch of the whole visual experience, biting on her bottom lip. Jacob nodded, as she commented. "Your welcome. I don't personally like being on my own a lot, so it is nice to chat to people. Get to know someone you don't know a bit more." Jacob was being honest, as he looked away, and took a small mouthful of his ice cream. He did hate being alone, and would always try and immerse himself with other people. It was his way of keeping his confidence levels high.
"Alright then. We will just have to sit back and try and enjoy whoever it is that is playing together. If they are shit, mind my language, then I am sure that we can find someone better than them. I am sure that there are more clubs around here, if I remember rightly." It had been a while, but he was sure that there would be more, or at least one other club or bar who had live music.
After he noticed the blush from that last bit of conversation, he had held out his hand to introduce himself. That smile of hers was making his heart beat a bit faster. It was something that he would never forget. It was imprinted on his brain for the rest of his life now. "Like wise." Hearing what her surname was, it reminded him of the Petrelli's that resided in New York and Washington, especially the President. He let go of her hand, movign a bit closer so that whatever he asked next wasn't said too loudly. "Are you related to the Petrelli's in New York, or even the President of the United States."

Rebekah simply couldn't stop blushing, this guy just seemed to be coming out with all the right words. When she had explained that she hadn't been given a compliment like that in a long time if at all, he only made her blush all the more when he replied saying he would have to remember that, women should get compliments all the time, according to him anyway. Then he added that she was welcome. She had to smile at him. "Well, it's good you feel that way, you're going to make a wonderful boyfriend for some lucky girl one day." She had no idea why she said that, but it was how she felt on the inside, she'd die to have a guy like that on her arm, not that she ever would, he was above her, way above her. That's what she thought anyway.
When Jacob told her that he was originally from Texas but moved to New York, she had asked him where in New York as she was from Lower Manhattan herself. She couldn't believe it when he said Midtown, they were virtually next door to each other, when it came to towns. "Really? Midtown Manhattan, it's not that far from Lower Manhattan where I'm from." Did she really have to say that? The guy was going to think she was desperate or something. Although male company in her life again, other than her brother would be nice, she was by no means desperate. However, the idea of sitting talking to a guy who stayed quite near to where she lived was a little exciting.
"I know what it's like to have little money, I used to be the same until I was adopted. In fact, I used to have to use my...." She trailed off realising she was about to say she used to use her ability to phase her hand into fruit machines in arcades to remove money to live. But what if he wasn't like her? What if he was one of these people who were hired to track people like her down? She coughed a couple of times, to try to cover the fact she was going to say something else, "I used to have to use my charm to beg for money, not proud of it." The only truthful part of that sentence, was the not proud of it, she hadn't been proud of using her ability to steal money, but it was the only way she could survive.
"Well, I think it's great getting to know new people. I just always seem able to make friends who are guys more than girls, never been able to work that one out myself." She had to giggle slightly then. Not that having male friends was a bad thing, but sometimes it was nice to have a female friend, so you could just hang out and talk to them about your boyfriend if you had one. However, out of all the guy friends she had, only one of them had been her boyfriend and he had just suddenly upped and left her. Oh well, these things happened she figured.
When Jacob said they should sit back and try to enjoy whoever was playing and if they were shit, try and find somewhere else to go. That suited Rebekah, she noticed how he had told her to mind his language. Well, really, she had heard much worse than the word shit before now. "Alright, suits me, although, lets hope they aren't shit, think I'm quite comfortable here." She didn't tell him to mind her language, as she wanted him to know she was comfortable with him using words like that around her.
After Rebekah said she was pleased to meet him, he had said likewise, and she just continued to smile at him, then she took another sip of her drink. At first, it looked like he wasn't going to react to her surname, but then he spoke, bringing up that very subject. At least he didn't seem to be freaked out about it, which was a blessing. "I am related to them, Angela Petrelli was the woman who adopted me, Nathan, President is my adopted brother, as is Peter of course. I also have another adopted brother by the name of Ryan Linderman. He's Angela's blood son to Daniel, when she had an affair with him." Rebekah didn't know if she should have given all of that information away or not, but she found she didn't really care.

He didn't want to sound cocky, but he had to say something to that comment. "I have had a couple of girlfriends, but some seem to be a little taken aback with what I compliment them in, turning them off. So does't always work for me unfortunately. I hope that I do find the right girl who doesn't seem that fazed by what I compliment them on." Jacob looked at her, and realised that she hadn't walked away from any of what he had said to her. So maybe she might just be the type of girl who handle what he had coming out of his mouth. Maybe, just maybe. Jacob gave her a bright smile, when she went on about how close they really were from each other. "Cool. Well, it would be nice to have someone I know live close by. Someone to hang out with, when I am not busy." Jacob had friends, don't get him wrong, but he liked just company that was his, like a female friend, who he could just talk to, and tell them what he was thinking about. Some of his guy friends might think that was stupid and sissy, but Jacob didn't care, or hid that part of himself from them. When Rebekah mentioned about how she knew what it is like not to have little money, he was kind of relieved. Most of his friends were pretty well off, so Jacob couldn't really talk to them about his money problems. He didn't want them to look down on him or something. And so he then foudn out that she was adopted, and it seemed to him that maybe she was well off now. He listened to the rest of her story, which was stopped as she coughed, and she continued to tell him what she had to do to get money. Jacob then wondered what she meant by using her charm. Did that mean that she was using herself for sex to get money? He had no right to question her if that was the case, as it seemed that it was in the past. "Well, whatever you had to do, it seems that being adopted has helped you a bit then?" Jacob grinned as Rebekah spoke about not understanding why she was always making friends with guys rather than girl. He lent in a little then. "Well, to be honest, there is definately something about you that attracted me to you, and I am a guy." Jacob sat back, and crossed his arms, looking right at her with a smile on his face. "For starters, your smile is beautiful, and it just lights up your face. You definately seem like the kind of person who likes everyone, and in return for your kind nature, those people like you as well." Jacob hoped he wasn't being too forward, but she had a right to know what she thought. He honestly didn't know why he had put the whole 'mind my language' thing in there, he just figured that he was with a young woman, and he didn't want to swear for some reason. But when she used the word in her reply, he had to let out a bit of a laugh. "Sorry, I just wanted to be polite and not use profanity. But it seems that you are quite comfortable with using it all then. So I won't refrain at all." He smiled down at his half melted ice cream, and pushed th bowl aside. "Just so used to swearing with my guy friends, sometimes forget that I am around a female. Not that I think you are a guy or anything, far from it. Just that I am so used to hanging with my friends lately, forgetting sometimes where I am, and who I am with, it just slips out." Jacob let out a breath, realising that he had somehow fumbled all that out on her. After introductions, Jacob had asked casually about her name and if it was any relation to the President and so forth. He nodded as she spoke, and took a sip of his beer. "Cool, well, I suppose it is nice to have people in high places if you ever need any help. Just hope that they are treating you okay." Somehow he had concern for her now, wherever that came from. Jacob had never been adopted, but had a bit of a mixed up family, so knew how it was to have a few people in your family. Just after that conversation ended, the house lights went down, and the band appeared on stage. "Here we go. Let's see how shit they really are." He let out a chuckle, and then sat back to here the band. **** 1 hour later **** The band took a second break, and the house lights came on. Jacob stared at the stage. Well, he thought, the band wasn't too bad. He turned to Rebekah to see what she thought of them. "So, Rebekah, what did you think? They seemed to know their stuff. Played some fantastic rock stuff, if I do say so myself."

Rebekah couldn’t help but smile at Jacob’s response when she said that he would make a good boyfriend for some girl one day. It didn’t surprise Rebekah that he had a couple of girlfriends, but she couldn’t understand why they didn’t like him complimenting them, Rebekah would love to have a boyfriend who complimented her all the time, in fact the compliments she had gotten from Jacob so far had certainly been making her feel glowing. The only problem she could see between them, if they were to be an item at all, was the age gap. She knew he was older than her, it wasn’t difficult to tell. Rebekah wasn’t even old enough to drink yet. “Well, I think they’re crazy not to enjoy getting compliments, I couldn’t think of anything better, than to have a boyfriend who showered you with compliments and affection. Then again, I’ve been pretty much lonely for the most part of my life, so maybe that’s why.” She didn’t mean to bring the conversation down, but it was how she felt. After Rebekah commented about them living quite close to each other, Jacob said it would be good to see someone when he wasn’t busy. Rebekah gave him another one of her bright smiles, “Well, I think I would like that.” Rebekah certainly didn’t have many friends, but of the friends she had made, they were always male friends. Most of them had become a boyfriend, even if it was just for a short time. However, there was only one she had a sexual relationship with and that was James, and thinking back to that time, she totally regretted it. She had given herself to him, and he had just upped and left her a few days later. The only other male constant in her life was Ryan, who was now officially her brother, after his mother, Angela adopted her. When Rebekah had almost slipped up giving her ability away talking about how she used to get money, she realised her stumble was pretty clear, and wondered what he was thinking. There were many ways she could have got money, and saying she used to use her charm, was an open word for him to think anything of her. She didn’t want him to think she was some cheap chick who looked for thrills for money. She was about to tell him the truth, when he spoke first, saying that whatever she had to do, being adopted had helped her then. “I’ll tell you what I used to do, just hope you aren’t too freaked out.” She leaned in really close to him, so only Jacob could hear, “I posses an ability, I can phase through objects, and I used to phase my hand into the fruit machines in casinos and take the money. I’m not proud of it, but I had to survive somehow when I was on my own.” Now her secret was out, about possessing an ability, she wondered if Jacob would have one too, as there weren’t many people she met who hadn’t possessed one. After Rebekah said she wasn’t sure why she kept making friends with guys and not girls, it was his turn to move in close, and when he spoke, she felt herself glowing all over. He really did have the best words to tell a female. He was very good with the charm without actually being a typical charmer who was just trying to get into your pants kind of a guy. There was something warm about everything he said to her. “Well, you’re certainly saying all the right things, and dare I say it, pushing all the right buttons.” It was at this point, she wondered if she should tell him just how old she was, maybe the fact she was still a teenager would freak him out. However, she decided to leave it for a while, as she was enjoying their conversation and didn’t want to bring it down so soon again. Anyway, he wasn’t an idiot, so he probably had a fair idea on how old she was. Jacob then apologised when she had used the word shit herself, and went into a rather long winded explanation about being in the company of his male friends so much he often forgets when he’s with a girl. Rebekah couldn’t help but giggle slightly, and then smiled brightly at him, shaking her head, “It’s really alright, and to be honest, I think it’s rather sweet you cared enough to tell me to mind your language, but I’ve used plenty of profanity in my time, so you’re quite safe.” Conversation then got to her name, and the connection, he said it was nice to have people in high places if she ever needed any help and hoped they were treating her alright. Again it seemed like he was really caring about her, which Rebekah really liked. “Oh, they treat me great, I’m a part of the family in their eyes, and treat me no different. But it’s not always great being associated with the name Petrelli, what with Angela’s connection to Primatech, Nathan being President, and Peter the local hero. Then usually when I meet guys now, they panic in case the secret service agents are going to be on top of them. It’s really spoiled me from getting boyfriends in the past few months since I was adopted.” Rebekah sighed a little then, just remembering that night a few weeks back with that guy called Lucas, who seemed to have fallen for her too, but then disappeared just as quickly. Who needed people like that in their lives anyway? The next thing the lights went down, which signalled the start of the band to play. Jacob spoke saying here we go and see how shit they really are, and then he chuckled. Jacob sat back, and Rebekah did likewise, although she wanted to sort of rest her head on his shoulder, but was scared she might be too forward, and so decided not to. “I’m sure they will be fine.” ****One Hour Later**** [/b] It was time for the band to take a break and the lights came back on. Rebekah didn’t think they were too bad, even if it wasn’t her usual typical taste of music. Jacob soon asked her what she thought, she gave him a smile. “I don’t normally listen to rock music, but yes, I thought they were rather good to be honest.” Then something compelled her to say something else, she couldn’t help herself, the banter between them had been going for too long already, “Although, I think there is someone here who is much better than the music I just listened to.” She looked right into his eyes then, and gave him one of her bright smiles. It was then she thought she should share her age, “Although there is something I should tell you, although you may have already worked it out, I’m only eighteen, well almost nineteen, in four days actually, not that I’ll be doing anything special for it, nobody special in my life to do it with.” Why the hell had she just said all of that? The guy was going to think she was way too forward, she swallowed hard, and then looked away from him, and bit down on her bottom lip, feeling like a bit of a fool.

Jacob looked at Rebekah, and just feel her loneliness as she said that she had been pretty much lonely for most part of her life. He rested his hand over her own, "Well then. I will just have to make sure that I do more of it tonight for you then." Jacob smiled at Rebekah then, still not sure why she had never been treated that way. "I hope that one day you will definately find the perfect someone, and they will treat you right, and they will compliment you all the time." I would do that anyway, thought Jacob, as he removed his hand from hers, and then sat back in his chair. It definately had seemed that after she had been adopted, eveything was going her way, in a way. Jacob then frowned a little, as she said that she will tell him what she used to do, hoping that he didn't get freaked out. Rebekah leaned in close to him, and told him. Once she told him everything, Jacob kept the closeness between them. "Well if you have told me your ability, I might as well tell you mine. It is Holographic Projection. If I am in trouble, or if I want to trick someone to save myself, I can basically project an image of myself to put people off. It is a replica of myself, just an image that you can not touch. But if you did happen to touch it, it would disappear." Jacob hoped that he explained it right. He had never had to use it, so he sometimes forgot he possessed an ability. Jacob was glad that Rebekah seemed fine with what he said about her. He hadn't meant to say it all at once, but he just felt that she had a right to know what he thought and saw in her. He gave her a warm smile, as she commented, saying that he was saying all the right things and pushing all the right buttons. "I aim to please, without lathering it all on at once." Just looking at her, just made him wonder if she would date a guy like him. It seemed that they were definately hitting it off, and everything was leading them in the right direction of maybe a relationship starting up. Let's just see where the night takes us, thought Jacob. He really did feel stupid for saying 'mind my language', but now it seemed that she was more than fine with it. Just hearing her giggle then, make him chuckle a little. It was so cute, along with the rest of her appearance and personality he had come across already. "Okay," was all Jacob could get out, nodding slightly Jacob honestly didn't care about her last name, and who she was connected with. He was glad to hear that they were treating her right, and Jacob smiled when she said that she was part of the family in their eyes. Good, thought Jacob, would hate for you to be an outcast, not being the kind of person you are. Jacob listened to her more, as Rebekah spoke about who was in her family. It was interesting to hear all about it. Then as she spoke about how it had been with meeting guys. Jacob nodded, somehow feeling what the guys might have been feeling. "I suppose that it would feel a bit daunting, having someone watching you. I think I would be worried if I did something that was inappropriate, and then I would never see you again." He didn't want to ask, but thought he had to. "Um, are there any around now?" Jacob wasn't in the slightest worried, just curious. When the lights went down, Jacob spoke to Rebekah, then she replied. "I hope so. Wouldn't want the night to have a small let down on the nice night I am having so far." **** One Hour Later **** Rebekah replied, letting him know what she had thought of the band. He nodded a little as she spoke. So okay, that wasn't her type of music, which made him wonder what types she listened to. Jacob took a sip of the water he had asked for during the first set, and almost spat it out, when she looked right into his eyes, and made a comment. So it seemed that she knew about his music then. "Oh, so you have heard my stuff then? So you like the more R'n'B stuff, and other styles that go with it?" Jacob just hoped that she didn't ask him to get up there while the band played. In all honesty, if she asked, he would maybe suggested a more private venue for that, just for her to hear. Then Rebekah said that there was something that she should tell him. Jacob couldn't really think of what she could possibly say right now. He looked at her, and then felt a wave of relief rush over him. Jacob kind of chuckled. He hadn't meant to do that, but he thought that she was going to tell him something far more serious than her age. He took her hand in one of his own, and with his other hand, directed her face to look at him, and just smiled. "I hadn't even wondered that at all. But I have to say that you seem much more older than you say you are. Much more mature, maybe with growing up more quickly while you tried to support yourself." Jacob then kissed the back of her hand. "Well, I am twenty-four, and if anything was to happen between us, I don't think age is an issue if you have feelings for someone." Then he wondered if she really wanted to sit through the next set from the band. "Did you want to sit through the next set, or would you like to get out of here and go for a walk?"

Rebekah really hadn’t meant to act the way she had over her past lonely life, but for some reason she was finding Jacob really easy to talk to and it all just more or less came pouring out of her really easily. When Jacob put his hand over her own, she gave him a weak smile which only turned brighter at his words. She also felt herself blush, but not enough that it rendered her speechless, “Thanks Jacob.” His next words however, sort of made her feel just a small bad sad, because she was really beginning to like him, and it sounded like he was suggesting she would meet someone else who would hopefully treat her right. She absentmindedly played with her hair, “I hope so.” Her voice was soft, and in her thoughts she couldn’t help but think, but really I’m hoping that someone might be you. Rebekah had been finding it so easy to talk to Jacob she had ended up telling him what she used to go to survive, which meant she admitted she had a power. When she finished, she actually held her breath for a few seconds wondering what he would say to what she told him. She was glad he kept the closeness between them, she liked being close to him, and then he told her he had a power as well and then began to tell her all about it. She began to relax, and smiled at him, “That’s actually a pretty decent power to have you know, it’s actually just as good as mine, whenever I found I was in trouble, I could just phase myself through walls and disappear, or into the ground, but I don’t like that move so much.” She remembered doing that once, and the feeling of having no bottom under her feet scared the hell out of her. She hadn’t done it again. She couldn’t believe she had met someone like her, someone with a power, well actually she could, she had met a few after all, but for some reason when she first looked at him, she could have sworn he would have just been your average normal human. “I’m glad you’re like me in the respect you have a power, I feel less of a freak now.” She laughed a little, because she didn’t actually see herself of people like her as freaks, but she knew that’s how most normal people usually perceived people like them. When Rebekah had told Jacob he was saying all the right things and pushing the right buttons, normally she would have been embarrassed at saying something like that to a guy, but not with Jacob, everything was now just flowing out of her so easily, he was making her feel at ease and it was brilliant. She gave Jacob a bright smile when he responded, “Well, however you are doing it, I’m enjoying it.” Rebekah felt herself blush slightly after saying those words, but nowhere near the extent of a normal embarrassment blush for her. Rebekah then began to talk about her connections and how some guys were put off by the idea that because she was a Petrelli she would have secret service guys hanging around her, but the truth was, Rebekah wasn’t a blood Petrelli and even though Angela had insisted she got protection whenever she was out, she refused it much to Angela’s annoyance. But Angela knew her adopted daughter was stubborn and so she never argued the point with her any further. So naturally the obvious question was asked, Rebekah shook her head, “No, I don’t allow them to follow me, I specifically asked Angela, mom, not to do it. I’ve only been with her for a short while, I don’t really feel a proper part of the family yet, and just don’t think it’s necessary.” It was the one condition about being adopted by Angela she had made clear, she didn’t want the secret service guys following her every move. The band were soon about to begin to play and when Rebekah had said she was sure they would be fine, she melted at his response. She didn’t want to assume he was talking about her when he mentioned the nice night he had been having so far, so she just smiled in response. ****One Hour Later**** When the band had finished for a break, Rebekah had said they were good, but it wasn’t her usual type of music to listen to and then without thinking had said there was someone whose music was much better than what she had just listened to, she had been referring to Jacob of course. She smiled brightly when he asked if she had heard some of his stuff, and commented on the R&B style of music. She nodded her head, “I do, but I like most music really, other than far out rock music, but I do like R&B and soul and country and pop, like I say, most stuff really.” She began to giggle a little then, and then her mouth ran away with her again, when she then said, “Maybe you can give me a private concert sometime.” Rebekah had then said she had something to tell him, then she told him how old she was, she honestly thought he may have been somewhat a little uncomfortable at her age, he began to chuckle, so she had to assume that he really wasn’t bothered by it at all. She smiled when he began to speak to her, then he kissed the back of her hand. The touch of those lips on the back of her hand made her skin tingle and her heart skip a beat or two. “Well, I always liked to think I was mature for my age, thank you. But I still thought you should know.” Jacob then told her his age, and went on to say that it wouldn’t be an issue if anything were to happen between them. Those words were like the total opposite of what he had said earlier, and immediately Rebekah felt a warm glow around her which reached right into her heart. She was falling for Jacob big time, and everything he was saying to her were just adding to those feelings. “I am glad it wouldn’t be an issue, but I have to ask, do you think something might happen between us, because if truth be known...” She trailed off and leaned into his ear and whispered, so only he could hear, “...I think I might have the tiniest crush on you.” Jacob then asked if she wanted to sit through the next set, or go for a walk. She didn’t want to ruin his night, since he had obviously planned on listening to the band, but she would like to go for a walk, decisions. “Well, I would hate to waste the night for you as you obviously planned to listen to the band, but I have to admit a walk does sound very good, especially given the company who is asking me.” This time there was no blush, only confidence in Rebekah’s voice and she gave him a warm smile, and locked her eyes with his, he really was so very handsome. {ooc - once again, sorry for delay}

Jacob smiled, as Rebekah commented on his own ability. He didn't know anyone, or had come across anyone, with his ability. Jacob nodded, as she continued to speaking, talking a bit more about what she used to do, in regards to her own ability. Just the thought of actually moving your body through solid objects kind of creeped Jacob out, but he knew if he had that ability he would have to adjust to it, wouldn't he? But he also guessed that his ability would be weird as well to someone who had never heard or seen it. "I have to agree about the whole phasing through the floor thing. That would be a bit scary. I think I would rather go forward then downwards as well." Jacob shook his head, when she said that she was glad to have met him, with him having a power, because she felt less of a freak. He watched as she laughed a little, but then he put a hand on her arm. "Even if I was a normal human being, I don't think that I would class you as a freak. I would hope that I would look past that and just see you as you are, and what sort of person that I have gotten to know already." Jacob was telling the truth hopefully. He didn't know how he would have reacted to her telling him of her ability if he was human. But he hoped that he would do what he just said. Jacob smiled that winning smile of his, when she commented again, after him apparently saying all the right things. He really looked at Rebekah then, thinking that she might be the girl for him, after all this time. At first, it seemed that maybe she was in need of some loving from a guy who would be able to give her that. And maybe she did, but she also came across as a very confident person at the same time, regardless of all the blushing that had been going on with his many kind and complimentary words. And this time was no different, when he saw a hint of blush escape to the surface of her skin. Jacob nodded, as Rebekah spoke of the secret service. He was glad in a way that they didn't follow her around. But he could see why she didn't. "Well I can see your point. But maybe down the track you might have to. You just never know these days with the president and all that. I suppose just as long as not many people know much about you, then you can keep a low profile of sorts. That would be better and safer for you." Now he was getting all over protective of her, and he had only known Rebekah for a short time. **** One Hour Later **** So it sounded like she might just like the sort of music he was into. But he had to grin at her, when she said that he could maybe give her a private concert sometime. It sounded nice now, coming from her. Maybe it might be sooner rather than later, when he had an idea. "Well, if you wanted to do something after all this, then you might just get one." Jacob just had this urge to sing a song that he had written a few days previous to her. Not necessarily that was written about her, as he never knew her till now, but it just seemed right. Jacob smiled at Rebekah's reply to the whole age thing. Well, she was right, she definately seemed older. And he felt that it was nice of her to be considerate with wanting him to know how old she was. "Well thank you. But I am sure that others think that you are older, if they had no idea how old you are." Jacob knew what he said, and had to smile, after Rebekah seemed to have picked up what he said, and commented on it further. So it seemed that she wondered if something might happen between them. Then she moved closer to his ear, before he could say anything more. A grin crept along his mouth, as she said that she might have the tinest crush on him. He couldn't let that comment go to waste. Jacob moved his mouth closer to her ear. "Well, I might just have to make that crush come true then." But then hesitated, wondering if he should do something or not. Though he soon slowly moved away and sat back in his chair, smiling at her, wondering what she might say to that. Jacob shook his head, when Rebekah spoke about him wanting to listen to the band. "I never actually planned on listening to the band in all honesty. So I would be happy to go for a walk and skip the rest of the set." So Jacob drank the rest of his drink, and then got up, pushing his chair in. He waited for Rebekah to hopefully get up, then he put his hand out, for her to hopefully take, and then he walked them out of the bar.

{ooc - gah - just over a week sorry - I seriously need to get my ass into gear and get up the speed so I can post in more threads every day or night} When Jacob agreed about the whole phasing through the floor thing and preferring to go forward Rebekah had to laugh a little. “Yeah, it’s definitely better, just the idea of having nothing underneath you, it’s horrible. It’s like when you come off a really fast fun ride, like the waltzers and not knowing if your feet are on solid ground or not, it’s...” She trailed off shuddering at the thought. She would never do it again, unless she had no option, if she was backed into a corner and had to make a quick getaway or something. When Rebekah felt the touch of Jacob’s hand on her arm, it sent shivers down her spine and then those words, telling her that even if he were a normal human he still wouldn’t look at her as a freak. It was nice to hear him say that. She couldn’t help but give him a warm smile as he continued to talk, telling her he would hope he would see her for her and the person he had gotten to know already. “It’s good to know you feel that way Jacob, but in a way I’m still sort of glad you have an ability also, makes me feel more comfortable. I know it’s probably silly, but...” She trailed off, giving him a bright smile, not knowing where she was really going with it, most of the people she knew all had abilities, Nathan, Peter, Ryan, Claire, Angela, in fact the only person she knew of who didn’t have an ability was Claire’s dad Noah and Claire’s boyfriend Wade and neither of them seemed to have much of a problem with the whole Evolved Human thing from what she knew. When Rebekah spoke more about the secret service guys and not wanting them following her every move, she couldn’t help but melt over Jacob’s words; it was almost as if he was being protective of her or something, which was actually very nice. “I know it’s usually the immediate family of the President, whom get the secret service guys following their every move, but I technically don’t class myself as an immediate member, but I can assure you if I felt I needed the protection, then I wouldn’t say no.” Actually part of that wasn’t quite the truth, because Rebekah had been hunted down by Xavier quite a few times after she had accidentally killed one of his friends. Maybe having them follow her around at times wouldn’t be a bad thing. “Actually, now that I’ve said that, it probably wouldn’t be a bad thing, I’ve had a couple of run ins in the past, maybe it’s time to look into it more, but I’d never want them following me if I were on a date.” She felt herself blush as she said the last few words as she didn’t want it to look like she was dropping hints, as she wasn’t, she was simply using it as an example. ****One Hour Later**** Rebekah could only smile warmly at Jacob when she had teased him about a private concert to hear his music and he replied saying if she wanted to do something after this, then she might get one. “Well, I say we do something after this, because I want you to give me one.” Suddenly realising how that might sound and glowing bright red for thinking it, she quickly added, “A private concert that is.” Not that she would say no to anything else with Jacob, he was a very handsome man after all, but that should come naturally when they were both ready if their new relationship, if that’s what it was, would go that far. Rebekah had then thought it only fair to tell Jacob her age, because she knew she was younger, even if she did look and act older for her age. Having to look after yourself for most of your life, made you mature quickly, probably more quickly than a normal person of her age. “I am sure you are right, but really that isn’t always a good sign, not when you’re only sixteen years old and they think they can force themselves on you.” Not that she had actually been raped or anything like that, but a slightly older man had tried to kiss her when she was only sixteen, thinking she was much older, it was one of those times she had run to Ryan, who at the time, was only her friend. Rebekah had then asked if anything were likely to happen between them because she had the tiniest crush on him. When he moved in closer to her ear and she felt his breath, her heart skipped a beat, and when he spoke, she couldn’t help but grin, she looked into his eyes then, “It sounds good to me, but how do you propose to start making it come true then?” She asked him, with her eyes smiling, but twinkling, as she pulled in her bottom lip slightly at the corner and bit down on it. He was so close to her then, she wondered if he was going to kiss her, but then he leaned back, and she felt herself sigh with slight disappointment. She figured it might be best not to rush it anyway, and she certainly wasn’t going to initiate it, it wasn’t really Rebekah’s style to do that kind of thing, but she found she couldn’t keep her eyes off of him, and she couldn’t stop smiling either. When Jacob said he hadn’t planned on listening to the band, and he’d be happy to skip the rest of the act and go for a walk, she watched as he finished his drink and then pushed himself back in his chair and was soon standing, so Rebekah finished her drink, and did the same thing. As she stood up she saw Jacob was holding his hand out for her, so she took it, and then he began to walk them out of the bar. “I’m glad that I’m not spoiling the rest of the act, I just assumed you were there to listen to them, and I just got you distracted.” The feel of his hand in hers felt so good that she absentmindedly entwined their fingers together. Well, she certainly hadn’t thought she’d meet a guy when she went on her little spontaneous trip, but she was definitely happy she did, he was so handsome, and he was so nice to her. She looked up at the sky, and then around at the scenery, it just looked so calm and peaceful, it was a wonderful night for a walk. “It’s a perfect night for a walk, the perfect end, to a perfect night, with the perfect guy.” The words just came rambling out of her mouth, normally this would have embarrassed Rebekah, but not tonight, she knew she meant them, and every one of those words were true. Rebekah was infatuated by Jacob, and she knew she was really glad she had met him, finally, she had someone she could hopefully call her own, and hopefully, someone who wouldn’t abandon her the way Luke had.

Jacob listened and nodded, as Rebekah spoke more about the whole phasing thing through the floor. It would be a bit freaky to just know that you have to wait till your feet hit solid ground. He noticed her shuddering what what she was just saying, and he knew it was hard to think about, or even talk about. "It's okay. But for me I like those kinds of rides. But doing it spontaneously would be kind of scary." He heard her speak about how she was glad that he had an ability, making her feel more comfortable. "It's not silly. I only have a couple of friends who are human. One was really good about it, because some of his family had ability. But the other one took a bit of time to adjust, as he had never known about our kind. But anyway, either way, I am glad that I got to meet you." Jacob listened more about the whole secret service situation, and who normally gets them. He nodded, then she spoke about having a couple of runs in in the past, which made Jacob wonder what sort of 'runs in' she was getting at. But really it wasn't any of his business. "Well just get one, only if and when you feel it is necessary." Jacob then gave her a cheeky grin. "And yes, might not be a good idea for a date. The third wheel date is not a good idea." **** One Hour Later **** Jacob pressed his lips together, and then had that glint in his eye, having wrong thoughts of what Rebekah said. He saw her face blush furiously, and knew what she meant. But Jacob being a guy, his mind went to the gutter. All he could do was nod and smile a little, when she added more. "Why not." Jacob nodded, when Rebekah spoke about it not being good to look older, when guys think they can force themselves on you. Again he wondered what she was getting at. Had something hapened to her. Jacob just hated when guys did that. They just had no respect for young women. At least he had a somewhat normal upbringing, to know how a woman should be treated. He had seen enough of guys trying to force themselves on women in the clubs he performed for, and it always made him want to go and give the guys a piece of his mind. When Rebekah asked him how he was going to make her crush come true, he raised an eyebrow, but then sat back in his chair. Jacob then smiled at her, putting his hands up in front of him, leaning his elbows on the chair, bringing his fingers together. "I am not sure. Let's just see how the nights pans out." Jacob was normally more forward, but had this urge to just take it slow with Rebekah, as not to scare her off. He turned and smiled at Rebekah, as they headed out the bar. "Well had no idea that there was a band, and the distraction is welcomed." He gave her hand a bit of a squeeze. Jacob soon felt her finger interwine with his own, and he continued to walk, feeling a grin form on his face. They headed outside. The air was nice and crisp, and there were a couple of people walking around, taking a nice stroll, like themselves. At the end of the street, he crossed with Rebekah, and soon the street they walked was lined with some really nice trees, which had fair lights interwined through the branches. Jacob heard Rebekah comment about the night, adding more about other things that were perfect. He chuckled a bit. "I agree about it being the perfect night for a walk, and a perfect end to a perfect night. But not sure about the guy. I am just being me. Not perfect by any means. I have my flaws like the next guy. But thanks." Without hesitation, Jacob let go of Rebekah's hand, and put his arm around her waist, bringing her in close. He was liking her more and more now. It seemed that the feelings were now more than mutural, and whatever happened next was the start of a perfect relationship. Before they went any further, Jacob stopped, and turned to Rebekah, standing in front of her, now with both arms around her waist. "Now might be the perfect time to make that little crush a reality." He lent in, and kissed her softly on the lips.
