Monday, 5th October, 2009 Emma was just over twelve weeks pregnant now and so far everything had been going pretty well, other than her hormones and emotions being a bit all over the place. One minute she'd be really warm and happy and the next, she'd be as cold as ice, and be snapping at the slightest little thing, or just crumbling into tears. There were no mood swings per say, it was just simply sporadic emotions. For the most part, everything seemed to be going well and Emma was so happy she was pregnant with Jackson's child. The only thing they needed to do now was find the time to actually get married. She loved being engaged to Jackson, but she didn't want to be massively huge when she had to walk down that aisle to marry him. She loved Jackson with all her heart, and honestly couldn't see her life without him in it now. In fact, just thinking like that tore Emma apart. Today was really the start of their new lives together, it was the first scan. Emma was so excited, she knew the foetus would still be quite small yet, but she still couldn't wait to see their baby on the screen moving about, listening to it's heartbeat. She just knew it was going to be a magical moment. She had told Jackson she would meet him at the clinic, she knew how busy he was getting their new album out in the shops and doing publicity for it, it was easier this way. Of course she had promised him if anything were to go wrong, she would contact him, so he could take her there himself. As it happened, nothing had gone wrong, she was feeling great. Her emotions seemed to be in check for the day, which hadn't happened too often over the past few weeks. She was positively glowing, and she honestly didn't think she could be any happier. She was walking again properly, the wheelchair a thing of the past. The only difference was her skating career, it was sort of out the window now. Pavel had been angry enough at her wanting to drop out to have a baby, but when he heard of her accident, he'd basically had a bit of a break down and left the States to go back to his home country. She hadn't even thought about going back on the ice, she was scared, because she didn't want to possibly fall and lose the baby. However, the doctors had told her, that with the physiotherapy she had gone through, there was a chance she might be able to go into competitions again. Emma felt she would probably just keep to local competitions if she was going to do that though, as she still very much wanted to remain a veterinary doctor in charge of her practice. Now she was inside the clinic in the waiting room with about fifteen minutes to spare. She picked up a magazine and started leafing through it until Jackson turned up.

Jackson was so happy right now. The band he was part of - C-PAX, had just finished laying down the tracks for their first album on Friday. It sounded great, and he couldn't wait for the public to hear it for the first time. The couple of songs that they had released between July and October were well received, so it was fingers crossed for when the album was out there to be bought. Jackson had had a nice chat with Bradley after it was all done on the Friday night, which was nice. He could tell Brad anything, what with him already having a child of his own. So Jackson knew that he had a male friend who had been through it all already, and could give Jackson some pointers.
The weekend had been kind of busy, what with a photoshoot for the album cover, and for inside the booklet. It soon made Jackson worn out by the end of the weekend, and when he got home to Emma, he just crashed. Jackson wanted to have a bit of a make out session Emma, but he was just so tired, and wanted to get some sleep, knowing that the next day he would be seeing their baby for the first time at the scan.
The appointment had been in the back of his mind over the last week. Jackson had no idea what to expect, even though he had secretly taken one of Emma's pregnancy books, and did research on the internet between recording the album. He had read about the different examinations that Emma would go through. How she would have her feet in stirrups, or something. Jackson just couldn't get his head around it all. He just hoped that Emma was prepared, because he wasn't in the slightest for all of that stuff.
So now it was the morning of the scan, and Jackson was hoping that he could clear his head enough to concentrate on a couple of interviews that C-PAX had that morning. He knew that a question would be aimed at him about his engagement to Emma, and really he didn't mind. But he didn't want her in the spotlight today in the interview. The interviews were mainly for their album and for the band, so he would speak briefly about her and then move on. Jackson was not embarrassed to be with Emma, he just felt that it was the band that was being advertised, not his love live.
After the second interview was done, Jackson said bye to the guys, and headed off to the clinic where the scan was to be done. For some reason Jackson felt sick. A million questions were going through his head. What if there was something wrong with the baby? What if something was wrong inside Emmma, especially after her accident? What if they found out that she was having twins? Jackson stopped in his tracks, and nearly fell over at that thought. He would be happy if they were having more than one. But really, one is enough to start off with, just to find their feet as first time parents. Parents. Jackson was going to be a parent. He decided to keep going, reaching the clinic, with ten minutes to spare.
He opened the door, and stepped inside. Jackson paused for a minute, and looked in the mirror on the wall. He looked a mess. He had had enough sleep last night, but all the thoughts in his head had made him wake up a few times during the night. Jackson wiped the sweat from his face, let out a breath, and smiled at himself. Then he did something that he hadn't done before. Speak to himself in the mirror. "You can do this. You are a grownup. An adult. You have to do this." Jackson let out another breath, and headed towards the waiting room.
Jackson just stepped into the entrance of the room, and didn't have to look for for Emma. He stood there, and a warm smiled spread across his face. She was so beautiful, just sitting there, looking through a magazine. Jackson just couldn't believe that she seemed to be handling the pregnancy so well so far. She might have had a few little emotional moments, but Jackson knew about the whole moodswing thing, and hadn't experienced those with Emma yet. What she had done a few times he had been able to handle, and have a box of tissues at the ready.
Jackson made his way over to where she was sitting. "Hey Em." He lent over and kissed her on the lips, and then smiled at her, as he sat down. "I thought I was going to be late. But still have ten mintues to just catch my breath. I practically ran from the last interview we had. I didn't trust the taxi's, in case there was a traffic jam or something." Jackson lent his head back on the wall, behind the chair. After a few second, he turned to face Emma, and placed a hand on her stomach. "So how as your day been so far. I am really excited about the scan." He gave her a smile that he hoped would show that he was. But really, deep inside he was petrified.

As Emma leafed through the magazine she had picked up waiting on Jackson to arrive, she began to have some thoughts go through her head. She hadn't really thought about it when she had announced to Jackson she was pregnant, but now she was thinking about it. What if she wouldn't be able to carry the baby to full term, because of her accident? She might be able to walk now unaided, but it had taken time to get there and now she was pregnant, goodness knows what it could do to her, she had already suffered severe emotional changes. However, she tried to get the thoughts from her mind, because despite everything, she was happy. She was in love with a wonderful man she was engaged to and now she was having his baby, it really didn't get much better than that.
It was at that point she heard Jackson's voice, and soon he had kissed her on the lips. Lifting one hand from the magazine, she put it on his face as she kissed him back. It was so good to see him, but he looked so tired. She wasn't sure if she should say anything to him or not though. She knew he had been busy over the weekend getting the album ready and of course promoting it, but she hated to see him look so exhausted. Yet he was asking how she was placing a hand on her stomach.
Emma put the magazine back down onto the table, she didn't need it now Jackson was here, and the hand which had been on his face was now on top of his own on her stomach. "I'm glad you weren't late Jackson, but even if you were, I'm sure we'd have managed to cope some how." She gave him a bright smile. She couldn't wait to see their baby on the screen, and make sure everything was going as well as it should for this stage of pregnancy. Even if she was having some unsure thoughts before, she was doing her best to keep them from her mind. She didn't want Jackson to know that she was worrying about it all.
"It's been fine Jackson, had a bit of an emotional moment earlier, when I couldn't get the car parked properly. It was something really silly and it just sent me over the edge, making me slam my hands on the wheel." Emma began to laugh, it wasn't funny to her at the time, but thinking about how she reacted, it was funny as hell to her now. "I wish someone had told me my emotions might be affected in a big way." She sighed gently then, and gave him a bright smile, "But I'm really looking forward to the scan." The smile on Jackson's face was telling her he was feeling the same way, which was good.
At least he wasn't worrying, and hopefully her bright smile was proof enough that she wasn't worrying either, even though she did have some unsure thoughts going through her head before. "So, how was your day? You look tired, you should definitely rest for a while when we get home."

Feeling Emma's hand on his face, as she kissed him back, was nice, and brought him to the reality that he truly loved Emma, and would do anything for her. He hoped that he would do well with his new role soon, one of being a father. Jackson knew that this would be a scary role to be in, but he had to think that he had to support his new family, along with supporting Emma before their child came into the world.
He had asked how she was, and had just rested his hand on her stomach. Jackson couldn't wait for their baby to start growing so that he could see it on the outside, as Emma's stomach started to grow. He had never seen his other girlfriend, Kristy, go through it at all, and was happy that he was in a good place to settle down now, and get married and have a baby with the most wonderful woman he could have ever imagined being with. Jackson was one lucky man to get all this, and he knew how lucky he was, and never took any of what he had for granted.
When Emma placed her hand over his own, and spoke, Jackson gave her a weak smile. "Me too. Didn't want to miss anything that the doctor might have said." Jackson had no idea what might have been said, if he had missed out on being there, but he knew that Emma would have told him regardless. He then listened to how the morning had been for her, and shifted slightly to look at her, as she mentioned her emotional moment from earlier. All Jackson could do was snicker, and roll his eyes a little. "Well, I am glad that you were able to park the car properly."
Jackson took Emma's hand, and interlaced his fingers in her own. He sat there next to her, listening as she spoke about how she wished that someone had told her how her emotions would be effected. Jackson gave her a big smile again, when she said that she was looking forward to the scan. "I just want to get in there and just see our baby for the first time, you know?" He looked around and wondered what the time was, soon spotting a clock. His heart began to race a little, seeing that they a little under five mintues. That didn't seem like a lot to prepare yourself for what you will be seeing on the screen while the machine does its thing and you can see your baby for the first time. Again Jackson felt sick.
Jackson again rested his head on the wall, trying to take away the feeling, not wanting Emma to worry about him. He was worrying about it all for the two of them, he felt. Then she asked how his day was, and then mentioned that he looked tired. Jackson had hoped that she wouldn't have noticed that. But Emma being Emma she did. Jackson sat up in the chair, and looked at her. "Just had a couple of interviews this morning, with the first one going a bit overtime, cutting it a little to get to the second one. They were good, and I enjoyed performing our new song for the first one." Interviews were just the same old, so not a lot had to be mentioned.
Jackson knew that he would have to comment about what she said about him looking tired. "I am a little tired. Slept okay, except for the times I got up during the night. I hope I didn't wake you with that." Jackson didn't think he did, but to him, it looked like she was asleep. "It might be good for me to just crash when we get back home." Once again Jackson would miss out on time which he could have with Emma to just sleep. He felt like he was neglecting her now, what with being so busy with the whole album.
Jackson then sat, and smiled brightly at her. "At least the album itself is now recorded, and the photoshoots are done. All we really need to do is just continue to promote the album. Which reminds me that we have like five interviews tomorrow." Jackson sighed, and then let go of Emma's hand, putting his hands up to his face. He didn't want to think about any of it now.

{ooc - aww poor Jackson lol}
Emma saw that weak smile of Jackson's and instantly knew that he wasn't his usual happy self. She could sense that he was worrying about something, but doing his best to cover it up. On top of that she could also see that he was exhausted. She didn't know if she should bring up the fact she could sense he was hiding something from her, she would hate to have a scene with him at their first scan. "Well, you won't miss anything, and I'm sure there have been plenty of fathers who haven't been able to turn up for these things due to one reason or another." Emma was trying to make Jackson feel a little better about the fact that he had almost been late, and the fact that he had been so busy recently he wasn't around as much and when he was getting home, he was crashing out.
Emma understood, his life was a hectic one, and she had known what it might get like from the moment she had first met him due to his exceptional singing talent. If she hadn't wanted to put up with a man who might not be in her life often, she'd never have got so involved with him. But the truth was she did, and she loved him so very much, that none of if mattered. All that mattered was the time they did spend together, and when they did, she treasured it, because it was much more precious.
Jackson had asked how her day was, and she told him of her little emotional moment earlier, she saw how he snickered and rolled his eyes. Had he done that at the time, she might have lashed out, but since she was finding it funny herself now, she just laughed. "Yeah I know, pathetic, but yes, I finally got the car parked." When Emma spoke of someone telling her how her emotions might be affected, she felt Jackson take her hand and interlace their fingers together. She sighed gently and smiled, it felt so good. Apart from her myriad of emotions, she was actually very happy right now, and couldn't wait to become Mrs. Poe. "Me too, it's going to be pretty bloody amazing Jackson, seeing the life we created moving around on the screen."
Emma then listened as Jackson spoke of the interviews and how he enjoyed singing at the first one. Then he went on to say that he was a little tired even though he had slept alright, apart from the times he had woken, and hoped he hadn't disturbed her. Emma shook her head, giving him an understanding smile, "You didn't waken me Jackson and I know you're busy. It's fine, I would rather you crash when you get home. I knew what I was getting into with you, I honestly don't mind." Besides with the way being pregnant was making her feel just now, maybe she will want to sleep for a while herself.
Since finding out she was pregnant, she had been sleeping more during the day, letting her assistant manager do more in the veterinary practice than Emma liked, but knew it was necessary. She never wanted to push herself, after the accident, she wanted to make sure their baby would be safe and go to full term. Jackson then continued to say that the album was now recorded and the photo shoots were finished. They just had to promote the album now and then mentioned they had five interviews the following day.
Emma was about to answer him, when he let go of her hand and sighed and then she watched as he put his hands up over his face. She knew there was something getting to him. "Hey, hey Jackson, it's alright. I knew you would be busy, please don't worry about anything. We'll be fine, promise." Just at that moment the doctor Emma was to see came into the reception area, with a warm smile approached her and held her hand out to Emma. "Miss Woods? Hi I'm your doctor through your pregnancy, my name is Lisa Rogers, if you just want to follow me please." With that Lisa began to walk toward the room she and Jackson were to go to.
Emma stood up and reached her hand out, "Come on Jackson, just put it all to the back of your mind just now, this is something to look forward to."

Jackson had to acknowledge and agree with Emma. He wasn't the first father who had almost missed out on the first scan. But if he had, Jackson would have still felt like he was letting Emma down. This was meant to be the most amazing moment between a couple, and he had almost missed it. He gave her a small smile. "I guess you are right Em. I am not the only one out there who is worrying about missing it. There could be one right now who has just missed it. So I shouldn't feel sorry for myself then, I guess." He looked at her then, and just knew that he loved her more and more, but sometimes just didn't know how he was going to love her more as the years went on. Maybe another song might be in order, thought Jackson.
It was good to have a bit of a laugh with Emma, even if it was at what she had done earlier. "I am glad that you are safe and sound, and that the car is okay." He chuckled at what he said. "And I am glad that youa re doing great." As Emma spoke of her emotions, Jackson had interlaced his fingers with her own, as he held her hand. He heard her sigh, and he grinned a little. Despite being in the clinic waiting area, it felt like that they were back at their place, just relaxing and chatting. But Jackson was far from relaxed. When Emma said that she couldn't wait either to get in there to see the baby. He placed his hand on her stomach again, just trying to image what it would look like on the screen, let alone what it was like for the baby inside Emma. "Can't wait to see Baby Poe." That was the first time he had ever called it anything, and he kind of liked the little nickname.
Jackson just looked at Emma with so much admiration for her. She just seemed to know the right things to say to him right then and there. He only had one thing to say to everything that she just said. Jackson kissed the back of Emma's hand, "You know Emma Woods. You are the most amazing woman, you know that?" Just the idea of him going back home and just sleeping for the rest of the week sounded good to him, but he knew that was impossible to do. "Maybe we an have a lay down together, just the three of us." Jackson had wanted to be intimate with Emma over the last couple of weeks, but with everything that had been going on, he was just too tired. He knew once all the interviews and so forth were over and done with, they would hopefully get back to normal.
Just thinking about all the interviews that were to happen tomorrow, Jackson had just had about enough, even if it wasn't all till tomorrow. As his hands covered his face, that sweet voice of Emma's broke through is thoughts. Jackson slowly moved his hands away, and let out another sigh. "Okay. I just... okay. I will stop worrying, for now." He closed his eyes for a second, let out a deep breath, and then sat up, just as someone spoke to her. Jackson looked at the doctor, who introduced herself as Lisa Rogers, who was going to be looking after Emma while she was pregnant. Jackson gave the doctor a smile, and started to get up out of the chair.
Jackson saw Emma's hand outstretched for him to take. He gave her a warm smile, attempting to push all of his thoughts to the back of his mind, letting the thoughts of the possible picture of the baby he would see to the front. "Okay. Let's go." He grabbed her hand, and walked after the doctor, as they headed to where they would see their baby for the first time.

As Jackson spoke more about how he almost missed the appointment, and Emma had explained there were probably a few fathers who had missed these appointments due to one thing or another, she gave him a very understanding smile, and nodded her head. It would seem to Emma he was really worrying about it, and she knew it wouldn’t be doing him any favours, he had enough other things to worry about. “No you shouldn’t feel sorry for yourself, and why would you feel that way anyway?” What was it going to take for Emma to explain there really was no problem here? She playfully nudged into him, “So, no more moping, alright?” She giggled. Emma was teasing Jackson, but in reality she hated seeing him so down and so upset about things, especially when this was supposed to be one of the happiest moments of their lives.
Emma rolled her eyes when Jackson said he was glad she was safe and sound and the car was alright. “Of course the car is alright.” She wanted to add in you cheeky bugger, but felt it wasn’t nice, and bit her tongue, but she would have been kidding him, and she was still laughing at the silliness of it all. She couldn’t help but give him a bright smile as he said he was glad she was doing alright. Emma then said she couldn’t wait to see their baby on the screen, and she felt Jackson’s hand on her stomach. It always felt good when he did that. She put her own hand over his, and smiled warmly. Jackson then said he couldn’t wait to see Baby Poe, Emma smiled more then. “I like that.”
After Jackson spoke about being tired and having to crash when he got home, Emma said she understood, the next thing she knew, Jackson had kissed the back of her hand, and when he spoke again, she couldn’t help but feel a little blush come over her. “Well, I do try but it does help having a wonderful, loving, fiancé.” She wasn’t just saying that either. Yes he was busy with the band just now and not home nearly as much as he would want, or she would like, but she agreed to marry him knowing the life she would be walking into, so she was well prepared for it. Jackson then suggested they lie down together, just the three of them. Emma smiled warmly and felt a warm glow go over her, at the thought of the three of them. “You know, that sounds bloody wonderful Jackson, and I loved how you said the three of us.” She leaned over and kissed him briefly, she didn’t care if anybody saw them, Emma was in love and loved expressing her feelings.
The next thing Emma knew Jackson was covering his face with his hands, and sighing. She knew immediately the thought of the busy weekend was getting to him, so once again she spoke to him, telling him not to worry about it. “I’m glad, because you don’t have to worry.” It wasn’t long after this Emma’s doctor came out and introduced herself, and asked if she was ready. Emma stood up and held her hand out for Jackson to take, which he grabbed and then told them to go. It didn’t take them very long to reach the room and once Emma stepped inside, she started to feel a little nervous. What if anything was wrong, after her accident? Something they hadn’t picked up on at the time, but may now during this scan? Then she shook her head, the doctor would have told her at the time if there might have been trouble with her having children.
“Alright Emma, if you just want to pop up onto that bed, and lift your top up slightly for me.” She then looked at Jackson, “And if you want to sit in the chair at the opposite side of the bed, you will be able to hold Emma’s hand and see the screen.” Emma lifted up her top as she was asked, to just under her breasts, and watched as Lisa switched on the machine, and then lifted up a tube of gel. Emma knew what it was, as she had read all about it. “This will feel cold, so you might jump a little.” Lisa explained, but Emma already knew, but nodded her head anyway. Soon the gel was spread across Emma’s stomach, and then Lisa put the paddle onto her stomach and began moving it around gently. “Alright, let’s see what we have here.” Right away before anything, Emma could hear the heartbeat of the baby very loudly, so she knew from that the baby was strong.

Jackson heard Emma ask him why he was feeling like that. He just shook his head. "I don't know." What else could he say? Jackson gave Emma a weak smile, when she told him, while nudging him playfully, no more moping. "Okay. I'm sorry. I will try. I will put what we are about to see in the front of my mind." Jackson couldn't wait to see their baby on the screen, and that put a smile on his face.
Jackson saw her roll her eyes, when he had said that he was glad that she was safe, and the car was right. Her comment made him laugh a little, still trying to imagine what visually happened. He had gotten angry sometimes when driving, but only a couple of times when parking, but that was always down to someone else getting his car space. That was always annoying. After Jackson had put his hand over Emma's stomach, he saw and felt her hand go over his, smiling at him. He smiled back at her, when she said that she liked the name he had just called the baby. "Me too. It is the first time I have said it out loud to you for some reason. Has a nice ring to it."
He chuckled a bit, after Emma's comment about him saying that she was the most amazing woman. Jackson looked away, but then back to Emma quickly. "Thanks. I do what I can." Just thinking about all the long hours he had been away from her, was killing him inside again, but he had to think positive now. It would be all over soon, all the interviews, performances, all of it. He also knew that their full schedule would be probably waiting for him via his email account. But in all honesty, it could wait, at least a few hours. Jackson smiled at Emma, loving that she liked his idea of just laying down when they get home. "Well, I should get used to saying it, as it really is part of our lives already. Even though Baby Poe isn't physically with us yet." Emma then leaned in and kissed Jackson for a moment, which led to him kissing her back. Once they parted, he gave her a warm smile.
As Jackson held her hand, he followed the doctor to the room that they were to be in for the scan. They were soon inside, and Emma was asked to hop up on the bed that the doctor gestured to. The Jackson was told that he could sit in the chair on the opposite side of the bed. He nodded, and then went to sit down, watching what was happening. Jackson was getting all nervous and worried again, but not about the band or anything. It was more about what he would see, and what they might be told. Jackson looked at Emma, and tried to give her an encouraging smile, which he hoped she wouldn't see right though.
Soon enough the machine was on, and the gel was put on Emma's stomach. Then Lisa put the paddle on her stomach, and began to move it around. All Jackson could do then was just look at the screen, like he had tunnel vision or something. Then an image came up, but the first thing that Jackson heard was the heartbeat. He gasped slightly, and continued to listen to it. Jackson took in a little of what he was shown, but he instantly looked at Emma, and squeezed her hand. His eyes started to mist over. His attention then went back to the screen, and just couldn't believe what he was seeing. Before he could say anymore, Jackson turned to the doctor. "Can you tell what sex it is yet?" He didn't know if Emma wanted to know, but he wondered if they could tell or not yet.

{ooc - sorry it took so bloody long Mel}
Emma couldn’t help but wonder why Jackson was feeling sorry for himself, when he said he didn’t know why he was feeling that way she just shook her head, but smiled at him, she had then told him to stop moping and playfully nudged him. He apologised and then said he would try, giving her a smile, saying he was just going to concentrate on what they were about to see. She wasn’t overly convinced, but it wasn’t the right place to get into it in a deep way. She really did wonder what was getting him down so much. They were engaged, had a baby on the way, he was in a successful band what more could he want, what more could they want, than to get married? Emma knew the life she was going to get herself into, he honestly had no need to feel this way. She smiled more brightly, and touched his arm with her hand, “Good.”
After Emma heard what Jackson had called their baby she told him she liked it, and he then said it was the first time he had said it out loud and he felt it had a nice ring to it. Still smiling, she nodded her head, “I agree it does have a nice ring to it.” Emma began to wonder what they would have, a boy or a girl; she really wasn’t too bothered either way, so long as they were healthy, that was all that mattered. Emma then began to wonder if they would find out today what sex their baby was, she had read it was sometimes possible to find out this earlier, but sometimes it wouldn’t be clear to the doctor taking the scan and they may only be guessing and it would be more clear to them at a later scan, usually one around twenty weeks. “Would you want to find out the sex of the baby if it were possible?” Emma asked Jackson, she wasn’t sure herself, sometimes it was good to know so you could get prepared in the right colour scheme, but at the same time, there was excitement in not knowing and finding out at the birth.
After Jackson had complimented Emma, she had complimented him right back, and she watched as he looked away from her, but he was soon facing her again and he said he did what he could. There was definitely something bugging him today, and she was going to get to the bottom of it no matter what. The minute this scan was over with, she was pouncing on him to find out exactly what was getting him so down, other than being physically exhausted. “You’re right, you do what you can, but trust me when I say it’s more than enough given your busy schedule.” She tapped his arm with her hand again; she really wished he would stop feeling so bad about things. Jackson had then referred to them as a three, when they were going to lie down together, and Emma had said she liked how he had said that. When he then went on to say he should say it more often, as even though Baby Poe wasn’t here yet, they were a three, Emma smiled brightly at him. “Yes, that is so true, Baby Poe is already a part of our lives, and he or she will be here in our lives soon enough.” When Emma first fell pregnant, she thought nine months seemed so long ago, but already she only had seven to go, the past two months had gone in fairly fast. Emma had then kissed Jackson and he had returned the kiss much to Emma’s enjoyment, just that soft affection they had for one another was just one of the many things she loved about Jackson.
Soon they were in the room and Emma was on that bed, and Lisa had spread the gel on her stomach and Emma was staring at the screen. Every now and then she would turn and see Jackson staring at the screen too. Of course Emma with her ability heard the baby’s heartbeat before the paddle was even on her stomach, she could hear it as it approached the skin. It was amazing, just simply amazing. Emma was so happy right now, when Jackson smiled, she just smiled back at him brightly. “Isn’t it amazing Jackson?” She couldn’t help but ask, then Jackson squeezed her hand, when Emma looked at him again, she could see his eyes were misting over. Emma’s own eyes were beginning to do the same thing. Jackson then asked Lisa if she could tell the sex of the baby yet. This was what Emma was wondering herself, but did they really want to know?
“Sometimes we can tell the sex at this stage, but it’s usually better to wait until around twenty weeks, as it’s not always clear at this stage, I can try and look and find out if you wish?” Lisa asked, looking from Emma to Jackson, which led to Emma to look at Jackson. “Do we want to know? I’m not sure; do you think we should know if we can find out?” Emma basically put the ball back in Jackson’s court so to speak, she really didn’t mind either way, but it was certainly better to plan ahead if you knew the sex of the baby, but still, she couldn’t help but wonder if the excitement of finding out at the birth was greater.
{ps: also noticed that Lance is still to reply to Tonya - I thought it was my turn - just in case you missed it in your list of owed posts - but you may be aware}

Jackson looked at Emma, when she asked if he wanted to find out the sex of the baby, if it was possible. He wanted to, but didn't at the same time. "Undecided still. It would be nice to know, but then finding out when it finally arrives would be a nice surprise as well." Jackson then went back to thinking more about it. He licked at his lips a little, and then made his decision. "Maybe just see when we get in there for the scan."
Jackson had a far idea that Emma was just trying to reassure him all the more, when she was saying that he did what he could, and that it's more than enough giving his busy schedule. Yes, it was a very busy schedule at the moment, and in a way Jackson would be glad when it was all over, and he could just enjoy his time with Emma. After that conversation with Bradley about hoping to spend a lot of time with Emma, and not missing anything, Jackson had made a mental note to do his hardest to be with Emma at every appointment, and every other little thing that was to be done while she was pregnant. Jackson's worst nightmare was that he wouldn't be there for the birth of the baby. That just started the worrying all over again. When Emma tapped him on the arm, he gave her a smile.
Jackson nodded, when Emma asked him about it being amazing. All he could do was just look and nod in her direction, then squeezed her hand. The whole emotion of it all was just overwhelming to Jackson. Then he had turned his attention back to the screen, then had asked Lisa if she could tell what sex it was. Lisa soon replied, and she then looked at both of them. Jackson had by then composed himself a bit better, was sitting somewhat back in the chair, but still holding Emma's hand. Then Emma asked if they wanted to know, as she wasn't sure. Jackson went back to what he originally thought. He gave Emma a warm smile. "I think I would like to wait. If that is okay with you. I know it would be nice to know. But I had thought earlier that it would be nice to find out at the end of the whole thing."

{ooc - I need to stop falling so far behind, sorry.}
After Emma had asked Jackson if he wanted to know the sex of their baby if the doctor could tell, he said he was still undecided. Truth was Emma wasn’t too sure about finding out either. She had read a few things about people finding out prior to the birth and buying in everything to suit said sex and then when the baby was born it being the complete opposite, because the doctor had made a mistake. She had also hear other stories, horror ones, of parents finding things out about their baby only for the woman to miscarry a few weeks later. Maybe finding out would be like a jinx to them, and Emma didn’t want to jinx them. “Well I’m glad you’ve said you’re undecided, because right now, I am also.” She didn’t want to tell him why she was undecided, although, given Jackson, he probably had his own worries going through his head. Jackson then added that they should wait until they got in there for the scan. “Alright, I agree.”
Once they were inside and looking at their baby on the screen, Emma had said it was amazing, she had been expecting some sort of verbal response from Jackson, but he seemed to be rather quiet. She did feel him squeeze her hand though; she knew it was just a very emotional moment for him, for the both of them. She wondered if she would be the same if the roles were reversed and she was the expecting father.
It wasn’t long after this Jackson asked Lisa if she could tell the sex of the baby, and she said sometimes they could tell at his stage but it was better to wait until twenty weeks, but she could try if they wanted. Emma had then looked at Jackson and asked him what he wanted. She would just go with his response. Jackson replied saying he would like to wait if it was alright with her, it would be nice to know, but it would also be nice to find out at the birth. Emma nodded her head, “I agree with you.” There were many things they could buy for the baby which didn’t have to be bought for a certain sex, and things like clothes; they could buy most of them in unisex colours until the baby was born.
Lisa smiled at the both of them, “Okay then, that’s settled. I don’t see a particular clear picture, so it probably would be too soon to tell anyway. If you change your mind, you can always ask at the next scan.” Lisa then placed the paddle back on the machine and switched it off; she took a tissue out of the box and wiped away the gel from Emma’s stomach, and pulled down her top. “Well, everything seems fine with the baby, good strong heartbeat; everything seems in proportion for the age of the foetus.” Lisa then went to her desk and began writing up notes, as she did this; she spoke again, “The scan photos and DVD will be ready to collect in a few moments, would you like to wait, or would you want them sent in the mail?”
Even though Emma had already seen the screen, and knew that’s all the DVD would be, she couldn’t wait to show it to Marcus and their parents, so she turned to Jackson, “If it’s alright with you and you’re not too tired, could we wait? I’d like to be able to show it to mum, dad, Marcus and Craig quite soon.” As Emma waited for his reply, she fixed her top, and pulled her jacket closed over her, she couldn’t wait to get home and just snuggle up with Jackson, but she really wanted to show that DVD off to her family as well, so the sooner they got it the better.

Jackson nodded, when Emma commented about how she was glad that he said he was undecided, because she was also. He smiled a little then at her, when she agreed to wait till they got in the room for the scan. "Okay." Once the scan was over and done with and everything seemed find, then he would have one less thing to worry himself about. Jackson was just hoping for the baby and for Emma to be okay. The accident that she had was always in the back of his mind, and he had always wondered if they were about to have children. But seeing as Emma was twelve weeks along, then he really shouldn't be worried.
After they agreed to wait to see what sex the baby was later on, Lisa smiled, and commented. Jackson smiled at Emma, just knowing that they had made the right decision. He wouldn't want to find out it was one sex, then later find out that the doctor had been wrong. Jackson knew that it was too early to buy stuff for the baby, but it would be nice to start soon though. He knew after all the interviews and so forth were finished, then he would be there to help Emma with anything they needed for the baby.
Jackson sat back in his chair, and watched as Lisa put the paddle back, and then wiped the excess gel from Emma's stomach. His attention then turned back to Lisa, as she mentioned that everything seemed fine with the baby, adding that the heartbeat was strong, and everything seemed in proportion for the age of the foetus. As Lisa made her way to her desk, Jackson turned to Emma. "That's great news. I am glad that everything is fine." He then lent in and kissed Emma on the cheek. Jackson was happy and relieved at the news.
He then heard Lisa say that the scan photos and dvd would be ready to collect in a few moments, if they wanted to wait, or she could mail them. Jackson saw Emma turn to him, and when she spoke, he shook his head, giving her a warm smile. "Em, I am not too tired to get any of that. I will be happy to wait. I can't wait to show my parents and Lance as well." His smile widen, just imagining his mum's face as she saw it. His entire family had been thrilled when they found out that Emma was pregnant, so this little moment between them was just as precious for both families.
Jackson watched as Emma fixed her top, and pulled her jacket together. He moved around and went to help Emma, when he had a thought to ask Lisa. "I do have one question. With Emma's accident back in April, everything is okay for her to carry the baby to term? I mean, there will be no complications? I know it was a long time ago, but just wondered." He turned to Emma, giving her a reassuring smile. Jackson just wanted to know the truth, before they continued the pregnancy.

When Lisa had said that everything seemed fine with the baby, and it had a good strong heartbeat and everything seemed in proportion to the age of the foetus Emma was so happy and she could tell looking at Jackson he was the same. In fact she was pretty certain there was a look of relief on his face. She knew he had been worrying about this pregnancy, probably due to her accident a few months ago. She felt fine though, and surely if there was going to be any sort of complications, she wouldn’t have been able to get pregnant in the first place? That’s how she saw it anyway. She grinned at Jackson, “Yeah, I’m pleased too Jackson, its great news.” Jackson then kissed Emma on the cheek, and she couldn’t help but nudge into him slightly, she loved his touches, especially his kisses, no matter where they happened to be.
Lisa had then mentioned about them getting the photographs and DVD in a few minutes if they wanted to wait, or she could send them in the mail. Emma was desperate to get them to show to her family, but she also knew how Jackson was exhausted and always put his needs before her own, so she had asked if they could wait so long as he wasn’t too tired. She couldn’t help but smile warmly at his response. “Thanks Jackson, I just know they’re going to be so happy to watch this, especially Marcus, for some reason he seems to be crazy about me.” Emma began to laugh then, she knew why Marcus was crazy about her, because she was his only sister, when for a long time he had thought he was an only child.
As Emma fixed her top and pulled her jacket over herself, she saw Jackson make his way toward her to help, but then he turned and asked Lisa a question. Emma’s face fell slightly at the question he had asked, even though she could understand why he had asked it to an extent, but she hadn’t really thought about it that much, who was she kidding, she had done nothing but think about it, she was just too scared to ask the question. Lisa looked at Jackson, “Well I would have to say if there was going to be any complications, the hospital would have brought that to your attention at the time, if they gave no warning, and with everything looking fine on the scan, I see no reason for Emma not to carry the baby to full term, so I wouldn’t worry about it Jackson.” Lisa gave him a bright smile and then she handed him over the envelope containing the photographs and the DVD. “There you go, that’s you all set, you can leave now, just remember to come to make another appointment for your eighteenth week scan Emma.”
Emma looked as Lisa and nodded her, “Yes I will, thanks again for everything Lisa.” She then held her hand out for Jackson to take, so they could get home, she was looking forward to just snuggling up with him and going for an early evening sleep.

Jackson gave her a smile, when she thanked him for waiting. He could imagine Marcus wanting to see the baby stuff. "Well maybe when we get out of here, you can make a time for tonight. I should be okay after a short sleep when we get home." Jackson wondered where they would have this viewing, as it didn't really worry him if it was at their place or not. "Then I will give my parents a call, so that they can join us for the little screening as well."
Jackson listened to what Lisa said, in regards to his question. Another sense of relief washed over him, after she spoke. He turned to Emma and smiled. "That's great news. And yes, I guess they would have said something if anything would have interferred." Jackson then watched as Lisa handed over the dvd and the photographs from the scan, taking them. Just looking at one of the photos made him smile. He couldn't believe that that was there baby already. He then looked at Emma, as she commented on what Lisa said. "Thanks for everything." Jackson then took Emma's hand, and walked out with her. He was so looking forward to that nap now.
