26th September, 2009 It had been almost two weeks since Marcus had split from Jo. It hadn't been an easy decision for him to make, but after Emma's 21st party things were pretty crazy for him and Jo. On the night of the party when he'd gone to collect her, he'd found her having a panic attack. Then during the party, when showing his concern, she'd walked out on him. He had gone after her naturally, and they sorted things, but somehow, deep down, Marcus knew something wasn't right. He knew he should have been there for Jo when she needed him the most, but it wasn't easy for him. He hadn't been able to get over the fact if he'd went to get her that day, she wouldn't have got stabbed, because he had this ability which stopped him from getting hurt. He had only just got over the fact he had inadvertently caused the accident of his sister and she was just out of hospital, and when he thought he wouldn't have to be there again anytime too soon, Jo got stabbed. It was all too much for Marcus, and even though he knew it was a terrible thing to do to her, he said he couldn't cope anymore and split from her. He gave the typical 'it's not you, it's me' speech, but truth was, that's exactly how Marcus saw it. Feeling like he was useless every time Jo had an attack, he split up with her. Now he was sitting on a cafe with a very strong coffee, trying to sober up from drowning his sorrows the night before. He hadn't visited his folks or Emma for a few days, deciding that nobody needed to be brought down by him. He had changed a lot since finding his family, and was quite the happy soul and mostly joking around, but today he wasn't feeling much like that, as shadows of the past kept haunting him, along with the accident he had caused and the stabbing he could have prevented. After finishing the coffee, he went up to the counter and order another one. "Another latte please me good woman, and can ye give me one of those chocolate muffins too please? Thanks." He was still feeling the effects of the alcohol, and if he was to go and visit his folks and Emma later, to see how they were doing, he had to be in a better frame of mind than the one he was currently in, and one coffee just hadn't cut it for him so far.

It wasn't unusual for Juliet to fall back to sleep after her alarm went off, it happened so often recently, that she was surprised she still had a job... Mind you with her ability, you could get to work right on time. She was good at being at barista though, despite being able to manipulate time, she had all the right elements and personality traits; friendly, hard working, always smiling. Smiles brought tips, that was always a good thing. Jules turned over in her bed, groaning as she patted the bedside cabinet for her alarm clock, she lifted her head and saw it flashing. “Crap!” She rolled off the bed and closed her eyes, freezing time.
“That's more like it.” Juliet grinned to herself and stood up, walking to the shower as if she had all the time in the World, which she did. Today was a good day, she could feel it. After dressing in her usual band t-shirt/jeans combo, Jules ran wax through her hands and spiked her short pixie-like hair up. When she had deemed herself presentable, Juliet grabbed her shoulder bag with all her belongings already in it and ran out the door, obviously locking it beforehand. It didn't take her long to teleport to an alleyway seconds away from the coffee house.
Juliet pulled her phone from her jeans and grinned, “Right on time.” She closed her eyes and immediately the World started again. Jules jogged around the corner in front of the coffee house to see Paola with a smile on her face. “You are on time Juliet, a rarity for you.” Jules grinned looking around the coffee house. “Well ya know, early night and all.” She hung her khaki cargo jacket up in the staff area behind a marked mahogany door. She pulled her apron around her hips and switched her phone to silent.
As she walked back out, Juliet noticed a man ordering a latte and a chocolate muffin. “We baked these fresh this morning, they are good, I had one straight from the oven.” Paola put her fingers to her lips and kissed them, throwing them out dramatically after. “You're Latino hun, not Italian.” Jules grinned at her and began making a latte for the man, who was actually one of the best looking guys she had ever seen. He had one of those faces, one of those faces you just didn't want to take your eyes off... Speaking of eyes, his were gorgeous. “So Orish?” Juliet laughed to herself, not finding anything wrong with her attempt at an Irish accent. “I love Irish people, they're good drinking buddies... I can never keep up with them mind.” Paola nudged Jules who snapped out of her rambling immediately. “Sorry hun, here ya go.” She handed him the latte and smiled politely, “That'll be 2.50.”

Marcus badly needed something or someone to lighten up his shitty life. He thought after finding his biological father, that things were really beginning to look up for him. Then there was Emma's accident, then he found Jo, and then later split because he couldn't handle everything after her attack. That on top of the fact the parents he thought were his parents keeping his biological family a secret from him, was just too much and put him into a bit of a depressive state.
These days it was very unlike Marcus to feel that way, and he seriously needed to get away from it. So after one final drinking binge the night before, he decided he had to shake himself together. Which took him to the cafe he was now sitting in. Just at the point his eyes were averted to someone who came in the door. He noticed she was rather pretty, cute actually and very cheery it seemed to the lady he'd placed his earlier order with. If he hadn't been feeling so down, he might have said something to her at that point, as it happens, he didn't. He did notice that the other woman called her Juliet.
One coffee later, he still didn't feel very sober, and went to the counter to order another one, along with a chocolate muffin. The woman behind the counter spoke about the muffins, saying they were freshly baked that morning, and put her fingers to her lips in a sort of sign of saying they were delicious. "I believe ye, they look mighty foine." Despite how he was feeling he gave the woman, as he now knew as Paola a smile.
Marcus had to shake his head, and smile again as Juliet told Paola she was Latino and not Italian. He then noticed that it was Juliet who was making his coffee for him, even though it had been the other woman he'd asked for it. It didn't bother him though, he was about to be given his coffee by a really pretty woman. What did he have to complain about? Very little it would seem. She was so happy that it made Marcus feel like a bit of a jerk for being so down in the dumps.
She then began to speak to him, asking if he was Irish, putting on an accent when she did it. Marcus couldn't help but chuckle slightly, it was rather endearing that she'd tried to copy his accent. "Aye, ye're right, I'm Oirish!" She then went on to say she loved Irish people they were good drinking buddies and that she could never keep up with them. He gave her a weak smile then, "Aye, would like to have seen how ye'd have done against me last night loike!" He then did break out into a bit of a grin after saying that.
She was so happy that it was pretty infectious and it was actually difficult for him to be down right at this moment. He saw the other woman Paola nudge Juliet and then she apologised. "Ah ye're alright there, ye seem just the type of person to get me out of the downer I've been on, so just ye carry on me good woman." He gave both women Paola and Juliet a brighter smile then. She then handed him his latte and asked for the cost $2.50. He grinned at her shaking his head, "Really? For a latte and a muffin? Cheap at half the proice." He could have sworn the latte he had earlier had been around the same price, but then he was pretty out of it then, so maybe not.
"Thanks." He handed her over a five dollar bill, "Keep the change, call it a super tip for making me smile, not something that's been easy to do the past couple of weeks loike." He wondered if that's where the conversation would end, seeing as she was technically working, or if he would find out more about her.

When the man said he was 'Oirish' Juliet giggled, grinning widely as she did. "Yay! I love that accent! It never gets boring." She pulled a worn leather notebook out from her apron and placed it on the side, away from any of the customers. Jules wrote down who she met each day, and where they were going. It was always fun to meet a tourist. But she felt for some reason that this guy wasn't a tourist, he seemed to familiar for some reason. She began speaking about how the Irish were good drinking buddies. "Oh were you drinking last night? Let me guess, Guinness!" Juliet giggled again, especially when she saw him grinning right back at her. He had a beautiful grin.
It wasn't until Paola nudged her that she realised she was probably being a bit of pain, lucky she wasn't in work long, a measly hour before she could go to the boxing hall and sign up for her kickboxing lessons. But he replied she was fine, and what he said next made Juliet laugh loudly. "You said me good woman! Ah! I think I love you!" She was still grinning, not realising how mad and crazy she probably sounded. "I'm sorry but I seriously love that accent, God." She sighed happily, handing over his coffee.
"Yeah low prices, happy customers, bigger tips!" Juliet grinned at him and tilted her head. He handed over a five dollar bill to Juliet, saying she had made him smile and that hadn't been an easy thing to do these past couple of weeks. Paola snatched it first, "My customer, my tip. You go be a little pixie some place else!" Jules rolled her eyes at her and stuck her tongue out when her back was turned. She leaned on the counter, her elbows almost touching the guy's arms. "What's your name then?" She was being nosey, but there was just something about him that she wanted to explore. "I'm Juliet, and no I have no Romeo!" Jules laughed to herself and made a decision quickly, she reached out her hand and rested it on his arm before shutting her eyes for a split second. "Welcome to my World." Everything was going so slowly, she hadn't stopped time completely, but it was so slow it was near that.
Juliet blinked and quickly brought time back to it's normal speed. "Sorry, I should um, yeah." She was kicking herself, she had shown her ability off to the best looking guy she had seen and probably scared him half to death. She stepped back, leaving her hand on the counter, before quickly turning away.

Marcus couldn't help but smile when Juliet smiled and giggled as he confirmed that he was indeed Irish. He had only been in her company for minutes and already he could see she was adorable. When she said she loved the accent and it never got boring, he shook his head, but still smiled. "Glad ye loike it. Would ye want me to be talking to ye all the time loike then?" His eyes were sparkling when he spoke, and he couldn't help but chuckle slightly. He had been feeling so miserable last night and even this morning, and yet now, he was already beginning to feel so much better, she was such a happy little thing, it was extremely infectious.
After she had mentioned about the Irish being good drinking buddies, he'd joked with her about how she would have held up with him the night before. Which made her ask if he was drinking last night and had a guess he had been drinking Guinness. That giggle of hers was amazing, and he was already beginning to fall in love with it. He shook his head again, still smiling. "How did ye ever guess loike?" It was well known every good Irish man drank Guinness no matter where they were, as it brought them closer to home and Marcus was no exception, even if home did leave him with some bitter memories now.
When Marcus had saw Paola nudge Juliet for talking so much to him, he had said that it was fine, and that she was to carry on and added good woman, that was when Juliet laughed loudly and then she commented that he had called her me good woman. His eyes were laughing before he actually laughed himself. She was pretty god damned amazing, she was like a little ray of sunshine lighting up his current dark mood. "Aye I did. Ye loiked me saying that did ye, me good woman?" He couldn't help but say it again. He had caught onto her saying she thought she loved him already. He winked at her, "I don't think it's me ye love, I think it's me accent, but that's alright, because I love your laugh, aye?"
He just chuckled as she said she was sorry but she seriously loved the accent as she handed him over his coffee. "Well, I don't have to be going anywhere too soon loike, ye can have talking to ye as much as ye want me too." He couldn't help but wink at her again then. Juliet had then asked for the price of the coffee and muffin, which had shocked him, as it seemed really cheap. He could have sworn he'd paid the same price for the coffee he'd had earlier, but was obviously mistaken when Juliet replied to him.
When she spoke again, saying low prices, happier customers, bigger tips, Marcus grinned, "Ye can say that again, cause ye made me happy alright." He had then handed over a five dollar bill and told Juliet to keep the change. Paola took the money out of Juliet's hand saying that it was her tip and Juliet was to be a little pixie elsewhere. Marcus shook his head again, and tilted his head as he looked at Juliet, taking in her features. She really was gorgeous, her eyes, her smile, her laugh, everything about her, and the fact the other woman had called her little pixie didn't seem too out of the ordinary, as that's what she reminded him off. She was so petite and adorable, just like a little pixie.
Marcus pulled another five dollar bill out of his wallet and slid it over the counter quietly winking at Juliet, "Don't let her snatch this one away, just for making me feel so much better, I haven't laughed or smiled loike this for a couple of weeks." If Juliet was this cheery to all their customers Marcus had a fair idea this little cafe would be a very popular one indeed. It had certainly caught his eye, or more to the point, Juliet had caught his eye and he would most definitely be there again.
Juliet then leaned on the counter, her elbows almost touching his arms he noticed, not that it bothered him. There was definitely something endearing about Juliet, she then asked what his name was, well seeing as he knew both ladies names, it was only right she should know, and he would likely have offered his name to her had she not got in first and asked. "Name's Marcus, Marcus Woods, and I already got your name from Paola speaking to ye." He raised his eyebrow at the no Romeo comment, "Moight have to see if I can do something about then loike. And let me just say you got a roight pretty name Juliet." He winked at her, as he still grinned, had he just full on flirted with her there?
It had been some time since he'd done that with any female, even with Jo there had been no flirting, in fact, it had all been done in a very old fashioned way. But this was different, she seemed to be flirting with him, but he wasn't sure if it was just the accent which was making her act that way, or if she actually did maybe have a little crush on him. The next thing she did was to put her hand on his arm, and close her eyes for a few seconds. The next thing he knew everything seemed to be going around very slowly. She had then said welcome to my world. So, she had an ability, to stop and mess around with time, it seemed.
He was shocked at the fact he had encountered another special like himself, but not because she was one. She obviously felt embarrassed about doing what she had done, and apologised, before making to turn away from him. He reached his hand out instinctively to touch her own which was still on the counter. "Juliet, turn round me good woman." His voice was soft, and once she turned to him, he beckoned with his hand for her to come closer. "Ye're not alone in that world of yours." Marcus picked up a knife from the container which held their cutlery and then dug, or at least, tried to dig it into his skin, which of course his skin didn't budge. "Impenetrable Skin." He put the knife down again and winked at her, "Seems we moight have something in common, aye? Ye were making me so happy, please don't turn away from me now."

"All the time?! I don't think I could handle it!" Juliet grinned at him and carried on holding down the coffee grinder. The man's eyes were sparkling; beautiful pools of blue. Juliet kept having to look around to avoid staring into them, she'd surely look crazy then. It was strange, usually people found her optimism and happy attitude irritating, but not this guy, he seemed to be thriving on it. The thought made her smile.
Jules noticed him shake his head as she mentioned the whole Irish drinking thing and that it had to be Guinness he was on. "Guess? I know for sure! I've been to Ireland before." She smirked. On a very dull New York Friday night, Jules decided to teleport to wherever her finger landed on the globe in her lounge. It landed on Northern Ireland. She ended up teleporting there and staying for the weekend, making some very good drinking buddies on the way. Her favourite part was the actual Guinness factory, where there were free tasters around every corner. "I can handle a couple of pints of the black gold, but otherwise, I'm a weakling." Juliet grinned at him.
When the Irishman said 'me good woman' again, Juliet let out a little squeal of excitement. "Stop it! I'll surely be fainting soon enough." It was the accent, that Irish accent. It seemed so... comforting. Then he winked, making her knees weak for a moment. Odd, she had NEVER had that before. "My laugh? Naw, it's so girly. I want a loud booming laugh, like this old English woman I met. She was like..." Juliet mimicked the booming laugh, putting her hands on her petite tummy as she did. "That was a hell of a laugh!"
It didn't take Jules a minute to pour the coffee out into the mug, and she handed it over, wiping her hands on her black apron around her hips. "Oh yeah? Nothing planned for today? I'm going to some boxing hall in like fifty minutes. Only in for an hour. Yay!" She grinned and clapped her hands together. There were no other customers in, so Jules picked up one of the muffins herself and began nibbling it. She went on to tell the Irishman about the whole small prices, happy customers, big tips thing. He said it had made him happy alright. All she could do was smile at that, and she took the five dollars from his hand. Paola soon snatched it and told her to be a 'little pixie' somewhere else.
What she didn't expect was for the guy to hand over another five dollar bill. "Oh you don't have to, I'll just rummage through her tips jar later." Juliet grinned and shrugged her shoulders lightly. Mischievous little pixie. But then he told her why to take it. "Bad couple of weeks huh? I hate it when I have those. I usually just..." Juliet paused realising she was about to say teleport a bit too loudly. "Just go on a trip somewhere, like Canada or Florida." She smiled at him then, watching his face for that gorgeous grin of his.
She leaned on the counter then, her sparkling brown eyes looking up at the ceiling of the café and asked his name. "Marcus Woods. You sound like a superhero." She smiled, still looking up at ceiling as if she were daydreaming. Jules told him about the whole 'no Romeo' thing and then looked at Marcus. She tilted her head, she was a mere foot away from his face that she couldn't help but stare into his eyes. "Do something about it? Naw, no man has wanted me and my devilish ways for years! And thanks, my friends usually call me Jules." She grinned at him, stepping back slightly as she yawned.
Juliet then done something she hadn't done in a long time, shown her ability to someone else. Only both of them would know time was going slower than usual out of everyone else. When she realised what she was doing, she brought them back to normal time and took a further step backwards. She didn't look sad, but frustrated with herself. Jules stuttered and turned, but felt a warm hand cover her own before she could walk away. He said it, the thing that made her smile. So she turned, smiling softly at him from one side of her mouth. She watched him silently, as he lifted the knife and tried digging it in to his skin. "Oh I know there are others out there, just the other day I saw an Invisible man in stopped time. Was rather funny." She was whispering so Paola and the other customers wouldn't hear. When Marcus put the knife down, he said something that made her heart sigh. "I'm not turning away from you... I just didn't think you'd understand. But ya do! So I'll stay." She grinned at him then, still noticing his hand on hers. "Um you can let go now." Juliet winked at him and ran her other hand through her short pixie hair.

Marcus had asked Juliet if she wanted him to talk to her all the time, after her comment about loving the Irish accent, he had to chuckle at her response. He wasn't sure what she was doing to him, but and as much as it pained him to think it, Jo didn't have this affect on him, he was basically besotted with her, her happy nature, it was very contagious. She was bringing out the happiness in Marcus as well, and he loved it, especially since he'd felt like such a jerk before and hadn't really been himself, since the day he had split up with Jo. Not that Marcus had always been a very happy soul though.
When Marcus' parents had died in a plane crash, which he himself had been the only survivor, he couldn't figure out why. It wasn't long after he realised he had this incredible ability which rendered him almost invincible. Nothing and nobody could harm him, it was like his body was a complete metal shield. He had begun to get hunted because he had been the only survivor and he hated it. Then he found out his parents weren't his parents after all, but his aunt and uncle, who had been asked to raise him, because his biological parents felt they were too young at the time.
Marcus was more pissed at his aunt and uncle for not telling him, than he was at his biological parents. They had been given a letter asking them to tell Marcus when he was eighteen why they had done what they did, and that they existed, so he could become a part of their family when the time was right. However, his 'parents' didn't tell him on his eighteenth birthday, and only found out about his biological parents when clearing out his parents personal effects and came across the said letter. Sometimes he wished he had the ability to go back in time and tell them what he really thought of what they did to him.
He had then went to find his biological family, finding them in New York, and so off he went, packing up the life which had been a lie to him in Ireland and went to find his family. He did find them, well his sister first, even if he did inadvertently cause her accident. Now though they were like a happy family, the way it should have been from the moment Marcus had turned eighteen, instead, he only found out when he was thirty two. Marcus realised he had drifted off into his thoughts for a short while, and snapped back to reality again when he heard Juliet speak once more.
He had asked how she had ever guessed that he had been drinking Guinness. Once again Marcus chuckled at her response when she said she didn't guess, she knew and that she had been to Ireland before. "Ah, is that roight? Maybe I should take ye back there one day loike, eh?" It really wouldn't have bothered him either, not that he was too sure he wanted to go back to Ireland, but despite the way he had been treated and the memories, he did sort of miss the Emerald Isle and it would be great to go back there, with Juliet, she was fascinating. Juliet went on to say she could handle a couple of pints, but after that she was a weakling. "Aye, well it's strong stuff loike, I can do a bit better than that meself, usually about me fifth and I'm anyone's." He chuckled again.
Marcus couldn't help but laugh out loud this time, after he had said 'me good woman' again to her, and she had squealed, it was so endearing to Marcus. He really was falling in love with her personality, he felt like she was just the sort of person he needed in his life right then. Someone who could always make him laugh and smile, and feel as happy as she was right then. Then he mentally slapped himself for thinking like that, they'd only just met. "Aye, will if ye did faint, there's strong arms roight here ready to catch ye loike." He so wanted to add in the whole good woman bit again, just because he was in a teasing mood, but held off on it, for now.
Marcus had then commented on her laugh, which he truly had fallen in love with, however Juliet commented that she wanted a loud booming laugh and went on to give him a demonstration of a laugh she had heard once. Marcus laughed out loud once more, he couldn't deny that Juliet was a welcoming tonic to him. "Aye that's a loud laugh alroight, but ye see, I think ye suit the one ye already got, so don't go changing it, alroight?" He winked at her again and just grinned at her. He was going to make it his mission to ask her out on a date before he was ready to leave her company, he just had to. Two weeks of mourning the loss of his other relationship was enough, especially when it was bringing him right down, it was time he moved on.
Juliet then asked if he had no plans for the day, well he might have run the local boxing hall, but he had put his assistant in charge for the past couple of weeks because of how he had been feeling. That was when Juliet added in about going to the boxing hall in fifty minutes. Marcus gave her a smile then, "Really? The one just down the road loike? That would be me own boxing hall ye know, just put me assistant in charge the past couple of weeks." He chuckled then, so she couldn't have been attending the boxing hall that long, as surely he'd have recognised her from past visits. She must have started going when he'd put his assistant in charge.
"Could always come with ye loike, see how Joe's doing, tell him I'll be back to doing it meself." After today he felt so much more alive, somehow Juliet had managed to show him that he didn't have to be down about things. Life was too short to act like that. He had to go visit his folks and Emma, they had been trying to contact him for the past few days, each voice mail with more of a worrying tone than the previous one.
Juliet had then said he didn't have to give her the other five dollar bill when Paola had snatched the other, but he pushed it toward her again anyway. "I'd rather ye just take it, nobody has managed to make me feel this happy for a while loike." He would lean over and tuck it into her pocket if he had to. "Yeah, well I've hated the bad couple of weeks I've had meself, but someone today has managed to pull me out of it." He winked at her again, his eyes once more sparkling. He wondered if he would actually be able to tell her all about his past so soon, or if she'd even want to know about it all.
They had then chosen that moment to exchange names. Juliet said he sounded like a superhero. He chuckled again, "Aye, I wish loike." Although not being able to get injured, maybe he was a bit of a superhero, who knew. She then went on to say that most of her friends called her Jules. "Jules? Have to remember that then loike. And I'd just loike to say to ye, I'd be more than willing to fill the romeo shoes if ye'd have me." Marcus then did something he very seldom did, he blushed, but that was because he had more or less just blatantly asked Juliet out in a round about way. He couldn't help himself though, he had really fallen for her in a big way, nothing like that had really happened to him before. Well, he had fallen for Jo quite quickly as well, but with Juliet it was different, everything felt totally different.
Then his mind drifted back to when Paola had called her a pixie, and looking at her, with her hair, and her giggle, and happy personality, and the fact she was quite small, well small to him at any rate, pixie seemed to suit her. "Me lil pixie!" It just came to him, and he hadn't even realised he said it out loud.
It wasn't long after that Juliet had shown off her ability to him, and she had backed off a little after it. He figured she'd been a bit embarrassed maybe at having showed it off the way she had. Marcus had then without a second thought, showed off his own ability, telling her she wasn't alone in that world of hers. She had then said in a quiet voice that she knew there were others, that she saw an Invisible man in stopped time. Marcus chuckled, "I bet that was a soight to see, aye?"
After Marcus had asked her not to turn away from him, she told him she wasn't turning away from him, that she just didn't think he would understand, but he did, and so she'd stay. He grinned at her then. "Aye, I do understand, so I'm sure pleased ye're going to stay." He couldn't help but wink at her again then, with his eyes sparkling with laughter. She had basically captured his heart in just over twenty minutes. Juliet then said he could let go of her hand now.
He didn't move his hand though, instead, looking at her with a look of what could only be described as love on his face, "What if I don't want to loike? What ye going to do about that?" He then began to use his thumbs to caress the back of her hand. He didn't want to let go of her hand, in fact, he didn't want to leave her company, he felt if he did, he'd crumble once more and go back to the sadness he had been feeling before Juliet had walked into the cafe.

Juliet noticed Marcus become quiet, she would ask what was wrong, but it really wasn't any of her business. She wanted to try and keep him happy. Happiness was her key in life, she tried to spread it as much as she could. Considering her past, you'd never think she would have been happy again. She shook her head quickly, realising she musn't think about 'that' during work, whenever she did, she usually had to stop time until she had calmed herself down. It wasn't as bad recently, she usually just said to her inner scaredy-cat 'Shit happens.'
Instead of wallowing on the past, Jules decided to carry on talking to the Irishman, he was kind of fascinating for some reason. "Take me back there? Hell I'd go now if I wanted to!" 'Literally.' She thought, smirking to herself. "Five and you're anyone's... I'll make a note of that." Juliet grinned cheekily at him and pushed the frother down on the coffee machine. She stretched upwards, her Metallica t-shirt going with her and revealing her little waist and belly button. "So five Guinness' is that all you drink or are you a liquor man too?"
Juliet smiled at him when he said there would be strong arms to catch her, mind you anyone could catch her and lift her up, she was such a small little thing. The Irishman then commented on her laugh. Jules replied she wanted a loud booming laugh and done an impression of one, making him laugh, but he told her not to go a changing it. "Dang, alright mister. Won't change it for now!" She smiled at him and asked him whether he had plans or not that day, and that she was heading off the the local boxing hall in fifty minutes. Marcus had told her it was his own. "Wait, you own that place? Some guy called Joe has been looking after me. He's so ginger! Is he Irish too?" Yes, Juliet Tyler was possibly one of the most inquisitive people you could ever meet. People called her nosey and the like, but usually she was just being friendly.
Marcus then said he could come with her, see how Joe's doing. "Yes! Then I won't look like the little leprechaun by myself! He keeps calling me one for being so happy, and I'm already mastering kick-boxing!" She grinned proudly, Juliet needed protection, well protection from certain people. She sighed quietly but grinned immediately after, "So yes, you have to come it's an order not a request, don't make me spit shake with you!" She laughed happily to herself and poured out the froth onto the latte. Longest making coffee ever.
Marcus then told Jules he'd rather she take the tip. "Fine I'll take it, but only because I need it. Looking to buy this awesome t-shirt and hoodie I saw down the rock and roll tees shop. Seriously... they're awesome." Juliet didn't need big shiny things to keep her entertained; music was really all she needed in life to keep her going. "I've pulled you out of your bad couple of weeks... well that is nice. Thank yoou!" She smiled, her cheeks turning ever so slightly pink.
What was next was slightly out of the blue, Jules didn't know what to say. Love at first sight was never really her thing, although she liked this guy. "Fill the Romeo shoes? This Juliet isn't desperate!" She giggled and shrugged. "But I haven't really had a Romeo ever to be honest. A Marcus sounds better though." She smiled meaningfully at him then, her eyebrows raising ever so slightly. It was then Marcus chose to call her something that made her mouth drop. "But enough lovey dovey stuff... wait... your little pixie?! Marcus! How rude, there's enough pixie to spread the love here there and everywhere. But sure, I'll be your little pixie warrior." She pretended to do a karate chop but ended up dropping her arms and laughing loudly.
It was then Juliet chose to show Marcus her ability. A definite rarity for her. She backed off naturally, feeling slightly embarrassed. But then he showed her his ability and she gasped, her eyes lighting up. "That was amazing! Only if I could of had that when..." Immediately she stopped, not realising what she was about to get into. She had to make up something. "When I stabbed myself with a chopping knife last week, I mean look..." She froze time suddenly, and closed her eyes, teleporting back to last week. She cut her past self ever so slightly on the hand with a knife. She nodded to herself and returned back to the present and unfroze time. The cut was there, healing with scar tissue. It was ten times better than going into 'that' story. "Silly me!" She then told Marcus how she had met an Invisible man. "I know! He just kinda popped up. And was freaked out that I could see him. Funny chap."
Juliet didn't turn away from him, she didn't want to. He was bringing out things in her she hadn't even seen in a while. When she said he could let go of her hand now, he simply continued looking at her. Jules smiled from the side of her mouth. "Well if ya don't want to, that gentleman over there is gonna go thirsty! We don't want that now Marcus do we?" The truth was, his intimacy was startling. But not in a bad way. Juliet welcomed it, it felt so right, so natural. Marcus began rubbing the back of her hand gently with his thumb, she blushed naturally. Paola saw and barged Juliet out of the way. "Look you gotta job to do, just because your Layne's favourite doesn't mean you can't do your job." Jules rolled her eyes. "But there's no one at the counter except Marcus! I am technically doing my job." Paola cursed in Portuguese before storming off to the other side of the café. Jules smiled slightly, shaking her head. "Girl never was good with jealousy, I've noticed that every woman in this room has stared at you at least twice. Guess they'll just have to stare further."
Juliet wanted to forward time, so she could go to the boxing hall with Marcus and tease Joe further. But it seemed to be going slowly as more and more customers came in and she eventually had to leave Marcus alone for a while. She noticed women approach him, but didn't do anything but smile at him. She wasn't jealous, hell he could have any woman in New York if he wanted to, but he liked her. His little pixie.

Marcus grinned at Juliet when she replied after he said he could take her back there one day. He wondered what she meant by what she said though. She'd go right now if she wanted to. Did she maybe possess some sort of ability that made it that she could go anywhere she wanted at the drop of a hat? He wondered if he should ask, and then mentally slapped himself, how stupid would he look if it turned out she just had heaps of money, or savings or a wealthy family or something. "Well then, if that's the case, then maybe ye could take me, than the other way around, aye?" Although, was he ready to go back there and face the demons of his recent past? He wasn't sure.
He just shook his head and chuckled as she confirmed that five Guinness' and he was anyone. The remark about making a note of it, didn't go unnoticed by Marcus and he winked. "Ye do that, moight just take ye up on it one day ye know." It seemed there was definite flirting going on between the two of them and Marcus found he was liking it a lot, or maybe not so much liking the flirting more than liking Juliet herself. Everything about her was amazing, he just wasn't sure if he should go jumping in head first, after all, hadn't he made that mistake with Jo and look where it got him. Although, he couldn't blame Jo for their break up, it was entirely his fault.
"Guinness is by far me favourite loike, but I can drink whiskey too, Jack Daniels to be precise." Of course, he could also drink the likes of wine and champagne when the situation called for it, but when in a bar socially drinking, Guinness and Jack Daniels just about covered it. It made him wonder what Juliet liked to drink other than Guinness seeing as she had mentioned she had drank some before. "What about yourself loike? Anything in particular ye loike to drink?" Marcus was really enjoying his conversation with Juliet, who only a short time before was just a girl who had come into the cafe and began to do her job. He was finding her captivating and the longer they spoke, the more he wanted to know about her, the more he wanted to spend time with her.
After Juliet had done an impression of a laugh she felt she would like to have than her own 'girlie one' as she'd put it, Marcus told her not to go changing it anytime soon. He smiled at her response, with his eyes twinkling at her. "Good, cause I loike it the way it is." Now he was telling her not to go changing her laugh and how he liked hers the way it was. Something was happening to him here. Not that he was exactly complaining. Then Juliet mentioned about going to the boxing hall down the road, to which Marcus had told her that was his own boxing hall. He couldn't believe it, of the weeks he'd obviously been laying low, Juliet had been at his hall in the hands of his assistant Joe.
Juliet had then asked about his assistant Joe, and he couldn't help but chuckle again. "Joe? Oirish loike me? No, he moight be from Scottish heritage though." Marcus couldn't help but laugh out loud himself then, seeing as he was now making a mock out of his fellow good people the Scots. The Irish and the Scots were famous for getting on well with each other, but they were also famous for producing the largest number of white faced gingers. Marcus had then suggested about going to the hall with her, so he could let Joe know he'd be taking his job back from the following day. It would seem Juliet had been the final boost he'd needed to get himself out of the dark hole he'd found himself in recently.
Juliet then said that he had to come with her, it was an order, not a request and that Joe kept calling her leprechaun because she was always so happy all the time. Marcus grinned, shaking his head, eyes sparkling once more, he really was quite happy right at this moment, "Aye, alroight then, I'll come with ye, moight be fun, especially being able to tell me assistant to stop calling ye leprechaun, ye look nothing loike one, they're ugly little fockers, and ye're far from ugly Juliet!" His mouth had done it again, and he immediately felt his face go a little pink. What was happening to him?
Marcus had then insisted that she took the extra tip he had handed her, it wasn't as if it was that huge amount of money, but she had cheered him up completely, basically brought him round to being the Marcus he had become when he had found his biological family. The past couple of weeks he'd been more of the darker Marcus he was after he'd left Ireland, and he hadn't liked it. He smiled when she said fine and mentioned about only taking it because she needed it and mentioning a shirt she wanted. "Thanks, I'll be wanting to see ye wearing it mind." He winked and chuckled, he might be wanting to see her wearing it, but in the back of his head he was thinking something else completely different.
The next thing that happened had surprised even Marcus when he'd more or less asked Juliet out, he couldn't explain the sudden urge to do that, but something deep inside told him it had been too spontaneous and she wouldn't like it. So now he was wondering what she was going to say. His face fell a little when she'd said she wasn't that desperate, he had sort of blown it he figured. He looked down for a second, "Sorry Juliet, no idea where that came from loike." Then she went on to say she hadn't really ever had a Romeo, but a Marcus sounded better. He looked back up then, still not quite sure how to react now. He didn't get a chance to say anything then when she only remarked on the 'me lil pixie' thing, he thought he'd said that to himself. His face blushed furiously. "Ye weren't meant to hear that loike, thought I said it to meself. Ah, I'm really sorry, don't know what's come over me loike, promised meself I wouldn't jump in feet first again, and I've only just gone and done it, I'm sorry." He wondered if he should just get up and leave, but something inside didn't want to do that, and so he decided to wait it out and see what happened next.
He had been so annoyed at himself, and too busy apologising to her that he hadn't even picked up on the whole pixie warrior joke, just the idea of having upset Juliet wasn't sitting well with him, seeing as she'd basically brightened up his day, or his past couple of weeks more like. Then Juliet had suddenly out of the blue showed her ability to him, and he'd then done the same back. So his earlier thoughts on her having an ability when she'd said she could go to Ireland now if she'd wanted to were right.
She had been busy saying his ability was amazing and only if she'd had it back and then trailed off, immediately Marcus wondered what she was going to say, but then she continued her sentence, and he just had to believe what she was saying. He would have questioned it, except, not knowing that she had covered her own back by stopping time and making the incident happen, that when he looked at her hand, it was as if she had been telling the truth. "Aye, well it's a pretty awesome ability loike, been a couple of moments I wished I'd been around to help people I cared about by shielding them, and it hadn't happened. Makes having this ability a bit annoying at times when ye can't stop your sister from being in a car accident or stop your ex from being stabbed." He wasn't even sure why he had reeled all of that off to her, but talking about his ability like that, he just felt he couldn't stop himself from saying it all.
"Sorry, ye didn't need to hear any of that loike, supposed to be happy now." He shook his head and then looked at her giving her a weak smile. What else could he do? He'd been silly enough to bring up the accident he'd inadvertently caused and even brought up his ex, to a female he seemed to be falling for. Great topics of conversation. Marcus had still been holding her hand from when she had went to turn away from him before, so when she'd said he could let go, he had asked what if he didn't want to. Her answer to him now, made perfect sense, and yet, he still didn't want to let go of her hand. "Well, no, I wouldn't want a customer to die of thirst loike." He slowly let go of her hand then, feeling lost now that he was no longer touching her skin. It was then that the other woman Paola had come out and was getting a little tetchy it seemed with Juliet talking to him.
Marcus couldn't help but raise his eyebrows at the whole scene. When Paola had went storming off, Marcus sighed gently and gave Juliet a weak smile, "Sorry, guess this is me fault for keeping ye from doing your job, maybe I should just go and meet ye at the hall, don't want ye getting fired cause of me loike." He didn't want to leave, but he also didn't want Juliet losing her job, because he was, for all intents and purposes, chatting her up.

Funny things, abilities. They were essentially the essence of the ability holder; it reflected them as a person. With people like Juliet, it reflected her personality and how she never dwelled on the past. She could have easily gone back to when she was a teen, and stopped them guys from doing anything; whether it be telling herself to go another way or something else. She of course had met Bella, who was a speedster, running nearly as fast as the speed of light. It was incredible really. Now she had met Marcus, possibly the most perfect man, holding the most perfect ability. He could never be harmed, she would never have to worry...
Jules snapped out of her thoughts immediately. Love at first sight wasn't her thing. Sure he was pretty damn perfect, but she wasn't in love with him. That romantic stuff was a lie, it was just the movies. She commented on how amazing his ability was, which was kind of where her thoughts had started. He went on to say how good an ability it was, but he never seemed to use it at the right time. Marcus hadn't stopped his sister from having a car accident, or his girlfriend from being attacked and stabbed. Jules smiled softly. "You're not Superman, no-one can expect you to be there twenty four seven."
Juliet didn't see Marcus as someone with a happy past, he had his scars, well his emotional scars. It was rare you met someone with a perfect childhood. He apologised and shook his head, smiling weakly. Jules sighed and smiled back, "Yes, stop being down or I'll have to try and pick you back up. Literally! And I'm tiny!" She grinned at him, sure it was a silly joke, but she hoped it would make him smile properly. His smile was gorgeous. But his touch, was something else. She felt shivers, butterflies and God knows what else when he touched her hand. It was special. He was special.
When Marcus let go, she sighed deeply, turning to go attend the other customer. Paola stormed off to the other end of the counter, and Jules couldn't help but shake her head and smile slightly. She told him how Paola wasn't good with jealousy, because she obviously found him attractive. As did every other woman in the cafe. But he didn't seem to notice in the slightest. "No you stay put! Ignore the silly jealous wannabe supermodel. She's a nice girl really, but she obviously likes you, and jealousy obviously doesn't settle well with her." She grinned at Marcus and began to serve the rush hour crowd as they came in.
It wasn't long before women started approaching Marcus, asking him for his number no doubt and all that. Jules also noticed Paola had wormed her way to that side of the counter to speak to Marcus while Jules herself had to do all the work. As slowly as it went, eventually it was the end of her mini shift, and she unwrapped her apron and handed it to the manager as he came in through the back. "Julie my girl! You off to that boxing hall?" Jules nodded at him and smiled. "Yep, be wary, Paola isn't in the best of moods." Carl raised an eyebrow and looked over Jules at Paola who was leaning on the counter talking to a man. "She looks fine to me." Jules spun around and saw her flirting with Marcus, she sighed heavily, grabbing her cargo jacket and shoulder bag. "See ya later munchkin, be safe on your way home from the hall!"
As she walked through the staff door into the cafe, Jules smiled as she walked over to Marcus. She grinned at Paola, "That's me done for the weekend, I'll see you Tuesday!" Paola pouted in frustration as Jules nudged Marcus who was almost as tall as her sitting down.

When Marcus had told Juliet about his ability being good, but not being able to stop his sister from being in a car accident or his ex girlfriend from being attacked and stabbed, he could only smile weakly when she said he wasn't superman and no-one expected him to be there twenty four seven. Maybe she was right, but it still didn't stop it from being painful to think about what he could have done. "Aye, ye're right, I should just be grateful they're both still alive loike." Even if he and Jo were no longer a couple, he would never have wished anything to happen to her. He gave Juliet a brighter smile then, thinking it was definitely better not to think about the past and what could have been, it was time to move on to the future.
After Marcus had apologised about being down, Juliet smiled at him and when she spoke, he couldn't help but let a slow smile spread across his face which ended in a bit of a grin. "Aye, ye're that alroight, tiny. But ye know what they say about being tiny roight?" He didn't give her a chance to answer, before carrying on, "All good things come in small packages, and ye're definitely a good thing." Marcus began to chuckle, he was feeling a little more light hearted again, which was good. He hated being down, especially around someone like Juliet, who seemed like such fun and the life and soul of any party.
Marcus had suggested he leave when Paola had got stroppy with Juliet, but she told him not to and then went on to say how Paola was just a jealous wannabe supermodel and how she obviously liked Marcus and jealousy didn't sit well with her. Marcus just gave Juliet a bright smile, "Aye, well she's got no chance with the loikes of me, because I've only got eyes for one woman in here roight now, and it's not Paola." He winked at Juliet then, wondering if she would know who he was talking about. He had made enough small hints previously that she should be able to work it out.
While Juliet got busy with other customers, Marcus just sat there, drinking his coffee in peace, or trying to. He was suddenly getting approached by some of the females who were in the cafe, and they were asking him if he was free for a date. He turned every one of them down. "Sorry lass, I'm not available, I'm keeping meself for that special someone." Was one thing he said, and to every other female, it was of a similar nature, just said in a slightly different way. Paola had also come to speak to him, and Marcus being the polite guy he is, spoke back to her. However, he wasn't putting any moves on her, and when she did ask him if she could get his telephone number, he shook his head and flatly refused.
"Sorry Paola, there's someone else in here I'd rather give that to if ye don't mind." He looked in Juliet's direction after he said that, and just gave her a bright smile. She was definitely someone he could see himself spending the rest of his life with. Soon it would seem that Juliet's shift was finally finished, and Marcus had finished his coffee long ago. He had been more than happy sitting waiting for her, as he couldn't wait to spend more time with her. He was soon nudged by Juliet. He couldn't help but grin at her. "Ye're ready then, aye?" He slowly stood up, smiling at Paola, and waving, "See ye again soon, I'm sure." With that, he without even thinking grabbed Juliet's hand and began to walk her out of the cafe in the general direction of his boxing hall.
"Ye know it's going to be weird walking in here after being away for a couple of weeks loike. I bet ye any money Joe teases me when I walk in with ye, but I don't care." He couldn't wait to see what skills she had and to see if she wanted him to maybe teach her some more moves, although his speciality was hand boxing than kick boxing.

As Juliet walked down the street with Marcus she couldn't help but feel something she had never felt. A happiness so... unique, that it had to be him. He was by far the most handsome man she had ever seen, and the cutest. His grin was irresistable, as was he himself. But one of Juliet's main rules in life was to never jump into relationships, it usually ended up bad and she certainly didn't want that with him. That's even if they would get that far, Jules didn't even know if he liked her, although she sensed he did. How she wished she was a mind reader as she stared up at him with her hands buried in her jacket.
Jules engaged in light, cheery conversation with him. Mainly about her favourite rock bands, which led to her showing off her newly bought Metallica t-shirt. She was grinning with pride as she showed it off. "It's one of a kind. So rare. Cost me a hundred dollars! Luckily tips were good." She grinned brightly, her beaming brown eyes shining up at him. They were friends already, that was obvious. The way they talked was as if they had been friends for years. The thought made her smile. Her oldest friend was Bella; she didn't really have friends before that. People always thought her tomboyish ways and 'evil' taste in music was weird. It didn't bother her though, she loved being different.
As they approached the boxing hall, Jules pulled out her membership card and waved it cheekily in her hand. "Don't wanna be getting special treatment now!" She grinned and pushed open the heavy iron door into the big hall. The cute little receptonist waved at her and continued doing her nails, until she saw Marcus behind Jules in which she straightened up and blinked rapidly at him. Obviously another fan of his. Juliet didn't really notice and slid her membership card on the counter and skipped off towards Joe. "The ginger giant!" She shouted as he watched two teenagers in the ring spar.

Marcus was now making his way with Juliet to his own boxing hall, which was kind of funny in a way seeing how he hadn’t been since he’d split from Jo. He still felt a little guilty about doing it, but he just couldn’t deal with her constant panic attacks, especially on top of his own grief over the death of the people he thought were his parents and his sister’s accident, which he had inadvertently caused. He knew he would get teased something chronic from his assistant Joe, whom he had left in charge while he mended his broken wings. Now it seemed now only were his wings mended, but so was his heart, Juliet was just so full of fun, she had truly brightened his day, and he was sure there might be underlying feelings swimming around. However, with what happened between himself and Jo, he wasn’t sure if he should allow himself to get into another relationship so soon, he had went into the one with Jo fairly quickly, after his rather old fashioned style kiss, only because it had been so long since he had dated a girl.
They both spoke mainly about Juliet’s favourite rock bands, and Marcus had commented on a few he liked himself. The conversation led Juliet to show off her new Metallica t-shirt, which Marcus was very impressed with. She went on to mention it was rare and it had cost her a hundred dollars. When she said it was lucky tips were good, Marcus couldn’t help but wink and chuckle at her. “Aye, ye should always get good tips, I happen to think ye’re worth it meself loike.” He couldn’t help it, she had brightened his day so much, and he felt it was only right he told her so. He would give her a hundred dollar tip every day if she wanted one. Her big brown eyes looking at him smiling at him were gorgeous, he could get lose in those pools of brown, she really was quite tiny, and the way she was so happy that he knew referring to her as his lil pixie was pretty much spot on. They just seemed to share an instant connection; they could easily have been friends since school.
Marcus couldn’t help but chuckle again when Juliet cheekily waved her membership card as they approached the hall commenting that she didn’t want to get special treatment. “Who said ye would have got special treatment loike?” He winked at her, knowing damn well fine he’d have just walked in with her without even thinking about the fact she would have a membership card. Once Juliet opened the door he took it from her and held it open until she was safely inside and then he followed her in. The receptionist waved at Juliet and continued doing her nails, which she suddenly stopped when she realised Marcus was behind Juliet. He grinned, “It’s alright Candice, ye were on yer break anyway, roight?” Candice just giggled, and blushed a little, that girl had a crush on him from the moment he’d hired her, well tough, he never had eyes for Candice, and now he only had eyes for the girl he had arrived with.
When Juliet skipped off toward Joe, Marcus followed behind, and Joe caught his eye almost immediately, grinning at Marcus and waving like a fool. “Alright Marcus, decided to show your ugly mug again?” Marcus walked right up to him, and playfully punched him in the gut, “Ye honestly think that’s how ye’re supposed to speak to yer boss?” Joe punched Marcus back which had quite a bit of power behind. “Jeez, ye’ve been on yer own for too long, been practising too much aye? By the way, I’ll be back to normal by Monday.” Joe nodded his head, “No problem Marcus.” He then turned his attention to Juliet who had called him the ginger giant. “Alright Titch? How did you manage to bring in the boss with you? Did you think you would get special perks or something, I mean I know what that Marcus is like.”
Marcus laughed out loudly, “Hey you, stop putting off me potential before it even starts off.” Marcus then turned his attention back to Juliet, “So, ye going to show me what ye can do then? I want to see if Joe’s been doing his job roight, ye know?” He asked chuckling again, well if Joe was going to tease him, he was going to tease him right back.

"Oh you think I'm worth it do you?" Juliet grinned at him and nudged his big frame. Well he was massive compared to her. She came up to his chest, something she didn't mind. Taller guys were her thang. They chatted as though they were best friends, or friends who hadn't seen each other in years. It was strange. Jules never had connections with people so easily, especially one she had known less than a couple of hours. But she loved it. She loved the freedom to talk to someone as herself and not a plastic doll. Being a barista in a cafe required big grins, politeness and sometimes fakery. Of course Jules didn't mind grinning, she grinned practically 24/7 anyway. And she was naturally polite. Marcus though, had put an extra spring in her step, she wasn't used to being THIS happy. He was completely gorgeous, everything about him; his looks, his personality, his laugh, his smile. She could easily spend the rest of her life around him...
As they entered the boxing hall Jules quickly pulled out her membership card and waved it about at the receptionist. She could hear Marcus chuckling behind her, making her grin even more. Jules loved Candice, she was really the only other female around here. But Juliet noticed the sudden flutter of eyelids as soon as she saw Marcus. Her cheeks filled with crimson as Marcus told her she was on her break anyway. Jules grinned at her, "He's a keeper eh?" She whispered before running through another set of doors into the main boxing hall. Joe was so stupidly easy to find, he was a huge ginger lump. She heard Joe speak to Marcus and rolled her eyes, "One he hasn't got an ugly mug, that's you looking in the mirror too often mate!" Jules started giggling and stopped beside him. Marcus and Joe started punching each other playfully, Jules grinned at the two of them.
"Special perks Joseph?! How dare you! I should so sue you under harrasment." But Jules couldn't keep a straight face, her eyes lit up and she burst out laughing, slapping the ginger giant's chest lightly. But Marcus soon stood up for himself, and his 'potential' at the same time. Jules blushed ever so slightly. "Yes! I will show you, but I need to get changed first. So I'll go to that grotty ladies changing room, which might I add had a massive spider in it. Joe had to come to the rescue! It was like... as big as my hand!" Jules acted it out as if it were happening right there. She noticed the two teenage boys in the ring stop and laugh at her. "Well midge, that isn't hard is it? You're like... a hobbit." Both of them started cracking up. Juliet's lip curled, she snarled at them. "Hey! Just because I'm small doesn't mean I couldn't kick both your asses!" One of the teens slid under the bottom rope and walked up to her, he was a good six foot. "That a challenge midge?" Jules grinned at him. "Sure is."

After Marcus had said Juliet should always get good tips and he thought she was worth it, he had to grin deeply at her response. “Aye, I do.” He would nudge her back, but she was so petite, he was scared he’d hurt her, whereas he was unbreakable so to speak, what with his fantastic ability. Alright, maybe it wasn’t so fantastic when he was the sole survivor of the plane crash and he was being hounded as to why he hadn’t a mark on him, but now he had learned to embrace his ability, he just wished he had been around to help Emma and Jo more when they had been hurt. Instead of nudging her, and because they seemed to be getting on like best friends already, strangely enough, given that they only started talking a short time ago, he swept her up onto his shoulders and gave her a fireman’s lift. Then he swung her right around his neck and gently slipped her back down onto her feet again right in front of him, and then for no reason other than he was in a right devilish mood, he grabbed at her sides and tickled her.
He was laughing so loud then, and once he calmed himself down and finally let go of her sides, he shook his head, “Ah sorry about that, don’t know what came over me loike, ye’re just so damn cute and irresistible.” He grinned at her and winked as he looked down at her. She really was perfection, like a china doll, and one he wanted to protect with his life from this moment on. After Jo, he never thought he’d lose his heart so quickly again, but with Jules it was different, she was magical, there was something there from the moment they began conversing which was never there with Jo, sad as he was to admit it to himself, the magic had never been there. Maybe it was because Jo had issues with her dad, and then the whole stabbing made her revert into herself. He actually couldn’t put a finger on it, but he just knew that in the space of time he and Jules had spoken, there was a magical connection, and one he didn’t want severed.
It hadn’t taken them long to get to the boxing hall, and Marcus couldn’t help but grin at the way Jules had flashed her card in the whole I’ve not to be treated special way. After he had teased Candice about the fact she had been doing her nails, saying she was on a break, he had been looking around to see if everything was in order, which it seemed to be when he just caught what Jules had said to Candice. He couldn’t help but let a huge grin come over his face, and he bent down behind her, before she ran off and said, “Oh I’m a keeper am I? Well I happen to think ye’re a keeper too.” He then watched as she ran off into the hall, looking for Joe, who you really couldn’t miss. Marcus raised one eyebrow at Joe as he spoke to him, but laughed out loud when Jules spoke back to him, saying that he didn’t have an ugly mug. Marcus pointed to his face, raising both eyebrows and smiling with his eyes, and biting on his bottom lip as he grinned, “See, if me good woman here says it’s not an ugly mug, then so be it.” Then Jules said it was Joe looking in a mirror, Marcus laughed out loud again, “Aye, ye should see the amount of mirrors he’s broken.” Joe just shook his head, “Shut it you.” Marcus just pulled a face at him.
When Joe mentioned special perks, Jules said she should sue him under harassment, but Marcus knew she was messing around because she was laughing, but he couldn’t help but step in and speak up telling Joe to stop putting off his potential before it even got started. Then he realised that’s what he had said, was that how he saw Jules? Well everything about her was special and magical, so naturally that’s how he was seeing her, now was she seeing him the same way, that was the question. Jules either didn’t hear what he said about the potential thing, or she had and was being polite not to mention it, but he did notice her blush. He had then asked her to show him what she could do.
Jules said she would show him but she had to get changed first. He was about to say alright, when she continued talking about the grotty changing rooms, and Marcus raised his eyebrows, “Grotty? Really? Hey Joe, has the bloody cleaner not been around loike?” He asked in a very annoyed voice. Joe replied, “She’s been, but I don’t think she’s been doing her job too well.” Jules then continued and spoke about a spider, which was apparently as big as her hand. Marcus shook his head, “Jeez, that’s just disgusting. I need to speak to that woman then loike, see if I can get me a better cleaner.” Joe nodded his head, and then these two teenagers who had been sparring in the boxing ring started teasing Jules calling her midge. Even though Marcus could sense the humour there, he wasn’t having any of it, “Hey the two of ye pack that right in ye hear me? Ye don’t get to talk to her loike that, only one person gets away with that and that’s me, that’s right isn’t it me lil pixie?” But then he got serious again, and looked at both of the teenagers, “But seriously, if ye don’t want your membership removed, then quit it with the bloody snide remarks, and certainly no more hobbit talk ye got it?”
He shook his head and then focused on Jules again, “Alright, go get yerself changed already, I want to see ye in action me good woman.” He chuckled and winked at her again.
