Vinnie just chuckled when Maddie said that maybe it counted and who knew when he said he still had it because he had made her laugh. There didn’t seem a reason for anymore words, as he shook his head, well he had certainly managed to break through something, because when they had first accidentally bumped into each other, she was so frosty with him, and now here they were about to have a drink and a bite to eat together. How often did that happen?
After Maddie had let him try a piece of her cake, without hesitation he had offered her a piece of his saying it was nice too, or at least he thought it was nice too. He grinned when she replied saying she had shared hers. “Precisely ma point.” Once she had finished eating it, he saw her grin which made him grin back at her, wondering what she was going to say about it. “Well, I gotta admit, tha’ orange cake of yers is pretty awesome.” He chuckled then.
When Vinnie had decided to confirm that Maddie was a fine looking woman, he was glad that he didn’t get a slap for his words, instead he saw that smile and she thanked him. He could have sworn he saw a slight blush come over as well, but he decided not to say anything about that. “Yer welcome.”
Vinnie gave Maddie a warm smile when she thanked him for not pushing, saying it was all she ever knew and that in the end she would just give in. She then added that being there with him was kind of refreshing. “Well thanks Maddie, it sure is refreshin’ fer me an’ all, cause am usually the opposite way an’ have girls fallin’ at ma charms at a drop of a hat, so fer me to have to chase ya if ya will, has been a change, an’ one I kinda like.” He meant it too, the sheer fact he had to try harder to impress Maddie meant a lot to him; in his eyes it meant she was a definite keeper.
Vinnie had then asked Maddie to tell him a bit more about herself, he smiled and nodded his head a few times a she spoke. “So yer one of those girls who like bungee jumpin’ or somethin’ like tha’?” He asked referring to the adrenaline rush thing. She then continued saying her biggest dislikes were boats and noisy rooms, Vinnie grinned, “Mus’ make sure I don’ ever surprise ya with a cruise then, or shut ya in a room with a kid an’ a noisy drum kit.” He was teasing her of course and he chuckled and winked after saying what he did.
Vinnie then lifted up his coffee and drank the rest of it, and no sooner had he done that, then his mobile rang. He knew right away it was a text coming in from his sister Sookie. “Excuse me a minute.” He then flipped his phone open and read the text. “Damn Maddie, I gotta go, sister is havin’ problems at home, somethin’ to do with the washin’ machine playin’ up.” He then went into his wallet and pulled out a business card, it had his building company name on it, and his mobile and email details. “If ya wanna meet up again sometime, ya can contact me either by phone or email, it was real nice meetin’ ya Maddie.” With that Vinnie stood up and walked round to her side and put his arm around her, giving her a hug and then kissed her on the cheek.
“Hope I hear from ya.” He was getting ready to leave when he just couldn’t walk out like that, and turned back and looked at her, not wanting to push things as he said he wouldn’t, “Tha’ kiss on the cheek didn’ seem like a proper one to me, d’ya mind if I give ya a real one?” His eyes were twinkling and he just stood there grinning, as he replied to Sookie’s text while he waited on Maddie’s response.
{ooc – alright I’ve brought this to hopefully close in the next two posts – so whatever Maddie does in her post, will probably determine if I need to post a final one with Vinnie or not}
