28th September 2009 It seemed that it was the beginning of the working week for most people, but not for Madalene. She was her own person still, and didn't have any commitments making her stop her normal recreation activities. One of which was writing. She hoped that one day a big newspaper might pick her up, but it seemed that they were only interested in free lance writing for the moment. But that was cool, Maddie could handle that. But sometimes doing nothing made her a bit jittery. But that jittery feeling always made her go to the bars and drink beer, her favourite type of alcohol. It did wonders for her, and she was able to hold at least four glasses down, before she started to get a bit tipsy and drunk. But when she was drunk, her mouth would run away with her, and that sometimes was not good. Especially when she was talking about something that she was passionate over. Madalene had just woken up, and looking at her watch it was close to midday. She smiled at the thought that she had slept half the day away already, but it was probably for the best, as the night before she had drunk herself silly over a stupid smuck who thought they could just dump her outside her apartment, telling her that she was a lousy bitch. Whatever, she didn't need that kind of person in her life. Well, what life she had right now. So after half an hour of laying around in bed, Madalene decided that it was time to get up, and do something constructive. Maddie moved over to her wardrobe, and picked out the clothes for today: Once her clothes were on, she ran a brush through her hair, applied a little make up, and then headed outside. Nobody had contacted her to do any writing for now, so Maddie headed to the local supermarket to get a few things that she knew she needed. Her fridge was looking a little bare, food-wise anyway. There was enough beer thought for a small party inside it. Once Maddie got inside, she looked around, and soon found the cold section. She needed milk, that was for sure.

{ooc - sorry I took so long Mel}
Vinnie should have been working, however he had decided not to bother showing up for his work today. It was a wonder he still had a job in all fairness. He seldom showed up and even when he did, he was usually late. However, the company he worked for didn't have many staff members, and as Vinnie was a pro at his job, when he was there, they had to keep him on their staff. Alright, so in truth, he didn't slack off all that often, but when he did, it was usually almost always a Monday, because he'd partied too hard the night before.
Today was Monday and he'd had a pretty hard weekend, when it came to partying, and making sure his sister was safe. He wasn't too keen on her relationship with Benjamin the vampire, but since Sookie had her own mind, and Vinnie knew fine well she would do what she wanted despite how he felt, there was no real argument there.
Vinnie wasn't a bad guy per say, he just hated the fact that he was surrounded by all these people who had abilities while he had none, and he hated it. There was his sister Sookie who could read minds, she had from quite a young age, and it annoyed the hell out of him, because no matter what he was thinking, she'd soon be on his back about it. Then there was Sookie's boyfriend that Benjamin Compton, a vampire, had an abundance of powers, and then the fact that Sookie worked at a bar called Fangtasia. Yeah, it does speak for itself, it's a bar for vampires run by vampires. So, no matter where Vinnie went he felt out of place.
He had heard of a drug going around called V, which was basically vampire blood, but the smalled drop of it, was said to send a human into a world of their own, basically put you onto such a high, you didn't want to come down. It had also been said, the more you took, the more vampiric you became. Vinnie was now on the rampage to try and get a hold of some of this V because he wanted to be like his sister, he wanted to be different, he wanted to be special.
Vinnie decided to go and get some groceries in as he'd eaten himself and Sookie out of house and home recently, and felt it was his turn to buy the groceries so decided to go ahead and do just that. Dressed in a pair of denims, and an open shirt, with jacket over, he made his way to the local supermarket. Not that Vinnie and shopping went well of course, but if there was one thing to make Vinnie do something, it was the possibility of bumping into a woman, who might just happen to befriend him, if you get me? Vinnie was sex daft and this meant he was woman daft, he would have sex with a woman, just for the sake of having sex, no matter the woman's age, although they did have to be an age of consent, he wasn't about to get jail term for doing an under age female.
So, throwing some things into the basket, he wasn't even watching where he was going, so that after he reached up for a can of fruit, and stepped back, he stepped back right into the path of someone, hopefully not knocking them over, but he certainly stumbled himself. He steadied himself, and then looked, his eyes open wide and totally fixed on the female in front of him.
"God damn, sure am sorry fer bumpin' into someone so migh'y fine lookin' are ya alrigh' there?" Vinnie's charm came flying out by the bucket load as he said that.

Maddie made her way to the cold section to get the mild she desparately needed. She put her basket down, and reached in to grab the milk. Placing it in her basket, she looked around, and decided that she need some apricots. She loved the dried stuff, and soon headed in the direction of the tinned and packaged fruit. Maddie turned down the aisle, and soon spotted the shelf it sat on. Putting her basket down again, Maddie reached for the packet from the shelf. Just as she bent down to put it in her basket, Madde felt someone knock into her.
Picking up her basket, Maddie started to have a go at whoever it was. "Hey. You had better watch where you are go...." Madde soon laid eyes on a guy. The 'someone' who had almost knocking her head first into her basket. She noticed his eyes grow wide, wondering if he knew who she was. Maddie had no idea who the hell he was. But he was alright looking, for a guy who seemed clumpsy.
Maddie looked sideways, as she rolled her eyes. So this guy seemed to have a bit of a smooth way of talking, it sounded like. She just waved her hand. "It's fine. Whatever. Just watch where you are going next time, okay? Wouldn't want that smart mouth of yours to get hurt." She shouldn't have been so rude, after he did apologise, but whatver. Maddie started walking away from the guy, heading in the direction of the bread.

As Vinnie stepped back after reaching up for the can of fruit, he wasn't particularly watching where he was going and by the time the female voice had shouted out for him to watch where he was going, it was too late, as he stumbled into her. He felt truly terrible, especially when he'd noticed just how good looking she was. What with Vinnie being one of these guys who always has an eye for the ladies, her looks were the first thing he noticed about her.
Vinnie had quickly apologised to her for bumping into her, but of course his natural smoothness came out along with the apology. He was usually lucky enough for women to fall for his charms, but this one, she spoke back to him, and it wasn't in a tone he had expected. In fact it seemed she was immune to his charm, he felt somewhat cheated.
"Uhm, smart mouth, tha' wha' ya reckon I've got? An' here I thought I was usin' ma charms, how wrong was I? Yer the first woman not to fall fer ma charms, ya migh' jus' be worth not havin' a smart mouth fer ya know. Anyway, sorry fer bumpin' into ya." He then watched as she began to walk away from him, he shook his head then, of all the women he had spoken to in his life, this would probably be the first time one had walked away from him, he was quite rightly shocked and also kind of impressed and intrigued.
{ooc - sorry it's such a short post - but hopefully it can build - Vinnie is a bit of a smart ass when it comes to women haha}

"Yes you do. And you should watch it." She rolled her eyes. "Well, I will be sure to tell the newspapers about that little headline then," when the guy commented her being the first woman not to fall for his charms. Maddie then just shook her head. "I accept your apology." She then walked off, away from the guy, and headed to the bread, which was the next thing on her mental list.
Maddie reached the bread, and just grabbed a randon loaf, not really caring the cost, and put it in her basket. Then as she picked it up, she had forgotten something that was in the same aisle where she had just come from. Rolling her eyes, she hoped that the guy wasn't still there. She just wanted to buy the groceries that she thought she needed, and just get out of there, and never see him again. So she slowly and sneakily headed back in the direction of the aisle.
Maddie soon stopped in her travels, and headed down a different aisle, spotting something else that she had been wanting. She wandered down the aisle, and soon stopped in front of the jelly. This was the one thing that she liked, but she put it down to the packaging. It had an aeroplane on it, the one thing that she loved riding in the most. So Maddie reached in, and pulled out a handful of the strawberry flavourited jellies, and put them in her basket. Looking in there, it didn't look a lot, but to Maddie, it was what she could easily survive on. Maddie picked up her basket, and nearly ran into someone. "Sorry."

Was Vinnie losing his touch? He couldn't ever remember a female knocking him back before. Usually they were falling at his feet and he more or less had to beat them off with a stick, but the way this female was talking to him now, his luck definitely wasn't in with this one. "Damn, yer one feisty chick, gotta give ya tha'." He shook his head trying to gather his thoughts, when she then said that she accepted his apology. Well that was something at least, right? "Ah, so am not all tha' bad then, if ya accepted ma apology?" However, he wasn't expecting a reply as he saw that she had walked off, heading in another direction of the supermarket.
Vinnie carried on getting what he was going to get, feeling quite hurt that he had been basically given the brush off, royally. He would have to practice his techniques again later, or have a talk with Sookie, see what attracted her to that vampire lover of hers. Vinnie decided to pick up another few things he felt they required. Making sure to get some break, milk, cheese and then wondered if he should pick up some jelly to go with the canned fruit he had got before.
He made his way back down to the aisle where he had bumped into that rather hot headed female. At least the coast was clear, he went right to the jelly picked up an orange flavour which would compliment the fruit he had bought earlier. He was just about to make his way to pay for what he'd bought when someone bumped into him and then that unmistakable voice, saying sorry. Vinnie couldn't help but let a smile creep across his face, before turning. "Tha's alrigh, guess after bumpin' into ya maself afore, it's only righ' ya get to do it back." He had a massive grin on his face and he winked at her as well.
He really should have just left it then, but something deep within, wouldn't allow him and before he knew it, his mouth was running away with him again. "Of course, I should really be tellin' ya to watch where yer goin' righ'? After all, ain' tha' wha' ya said to me afore? 'Cept I ain' like tha', accidents happen ya know?" He then just grinned at her, there really wasn't much else to do then. In fact, maybe he should just leave so as not to get another mouthful of abuse from her, but something compelled him to stay.

Maddie just shrugged her shoulders, when the guy commented that she was a feisty one. Maybe she was, but really she hadn't been with many guys, and maybe this was her way of putting up a defensive wall. The guy seemed a bit to smart and suarve for his own good. After she said that she accepted his apology, she hadn't bothered with any more comments from him, and walked away.
After getting the bread that she was after, she headed down the aisle of where the jelly was kept. Maddie stopped and picked out a handful of packets, putting them into her basket. As she picked up her basket, and was about to move down the aisle, she nearly ran into someone. She had obviously apologised, but just couldn't believe who it was. Of all the people to run into, it had to be 'that' guy.
Maddie looked at him, and let out a sigh. But hearing what he just said, she felt a grin begin to form on her lips. When he had winked and grinned at her, all she could do was recipricate what he did, and smiled back. Somehow that wall that she had put up was starting to come down, brick by brick. She put a finger in her hair, began to twiddle with a strand. "So now we are even then, I guess. Game has come to a tie." Well so to speak, she thought.
Maddie was about to head off, when the guy continued to talk. She so had to hear what he wanted to say now. It seemed that he just couldn't shut up. Maddie moved the basket, so that both of her hands were holding it in front of her body. She raised her eyebrows, as he spoke. So he seemed to have an upstairs brain after all, not just a downstairs one. Maddie looked at him, and felt more of the wall coming down. "Hey. I'm sorry about how I acted. I just get a bit defensive with guys that's all." She looked down at her basket, and then back at the guy. "I should let you get back to your shopping. I need to get back anyway." She gave him a bit of a smile, and then headed towards the checkout.
She put her basket up next to the register for the cashier to take the stuff out. Maddie watched as the cashier rang up the items that she had, and waited for them to tell her what she owed.

Vinnie hadn't really expected the girl to answer him when he'd called her a feisty one, as she had already been walking off anyway. Well, there went a good looking chick he thought to himself. It was annoying him that he hadn't been able to charm her, and yet at the same time it had intrigued him that she seemed immune to his charms. Like she was a challenge or something. However, he just shrugged his shoulders, he really didn't have time for females who acted like that.
He had then continued with his shopping and was just getting the last item, a jelly which he'd forgotten to pick when in the dessert aisle before when he was bumped into. He couldn't believe it when it turned out to be the female he had bumped into earlier himself. A slow smile had crept across his face, and then his smooth charm went into action again as he spoke to her once more, wondering if he'd get a better reception this time, but probably not, given her reaction earlier.
Luckily this time, he got a smile, that was good right? Unless she was thinking of some smart ass remark to give back to him again of course. Then he saw her put a finger into her hair and start to play with it slightly. When she spoke, he couldn't help but continue to grin at her. "Yeah, guess ya could say tha' then." He bumped into her, she bumped into him, yeah, they were definitely even, of sorts. When she said game has come to a tie, he chuckled slightly, his eyes sparkling. "So tha's wha' it was? A game? Wished I'd known tha', migh'a made it more excitin' fer ya." He raised his eyebrows at her then. He really should have been more careful with what he was saying to this girl, as she did seem pretty feisty, but he figured since he got the smile from her, that maybe he could try again with his charm.
Vinnie had then continued to talk, not being able to help himself, by more or less repeating her earlier words to him when he'd bumped into her. He was of course kidding around, but he was just the type of guy never to leave something. He always had to have the last word, or at least try to. Granted, it didn't always work, depending on who he was speaking to. His sister Sookie for example, he could never get the last word with her. He smiled just thinking about her, she was all he had in the way of family now, they only had each other.
She was apologising for the way she acted, saying she just got a bit defensive with guys. Well in a lot of ways Vinnie could understand that. He got defensive with guys over his sister after all. "Hey, it's alrigh', am jus' sorta messin' with ya, ya got every righ' to be like tha', never know who yer dealin' with." He gave her an understanding smile then. "Got me a sister ya see." He added that, for no other reason than to maybe explain that he knew how girls worked when it came to guys they didn't really know.
She then said she should let him get back to his shopping, she had to go anyway. "Well, I was jus' finished, so how abou' we pay fer our stuff an' I migh' be able to walk ya home or somethin'? Help ya with them groceries maybe? Or maybe buy ya a coffee or somethin', show ya I ain' all tha' bad." He gave her a warm smile, no grin, no cheesy line and definitely no smooth charm, just a simple request to either walk her home or take her for a coffee. Vinnie then went to the next cash register, and began to get his items rung up, occasionally taking glimpses at the girl opposite him.
"Oh, by the way, ma name's Vinnie Monroe, jus' in case ya were wonderin'."

Maddie just let out a half laugh when he commented on what she said about being even. When the mention of the game that was apparently being played, she had to laugh this time around. "I'm sure it would have been exciting for you. I happen to know that guys like you like playing games. Meet enough of them to get that flaw, and try and push it away." Maddie could just tell that he was one that was up for a game, and didn't matter who was likely to get hurt.
But really, she could see that there was more to this guy. If it seemed that he was into her, then she would allow it, eventually. Maddie had been hurt too many time, and right now maybe a guy was not what she was after. Maybe a male friend, for starters. But really, looking at him, she wondered if he would be for that or not. Most of the guys that she tried to be friends with just ended up being her boyfriend, trying to get into her pants.
Madde had then apologised, knowing that she had to give him some sort of explanation for her behaviour. But when the guy spoke, she gave him a war, smile, especially when he spoke of his sister. So he had an over protective side as well, maybe. He might be alright after all, thought Maddie. "Well, you might be okay after all." Maddie looked at him, then down at her hands, that were holding her basket. She then looked back at the guy again. "I have an older and a younger brother, and can be protective of them also. Even though my older brother is married with kids." Maddie then looked down the aisle, as she wondered if she would have that one day. Be married to a guy, and have kids. But she knew that she would have to start being more open to people, and not have this wall up, if she wanted to have any of that.
After Maddie had said she had better let him get back to shopping, he asked her about either walking her home, or helping with her groceries, or buying her a coffee. Maddie tilted her head slightly to the right, thinking whether that was a good idea or not. She had only met the guy like only moments ago, and then thought more. Maddie had to get out of this rut of just standing behind this wall, and just get out there again. Her eyes looked right at him, kind of smiling at him. "Sure. Why not. Coffee would be good." He seemed genuine enough, and really the friendly banter between them had done it's work somehow it seemed.
Maddie headed to a register to get her items rung up. She occassionally looked at him, and gave him a small smile, waiting to hear how much she owed. The next time she looked over, the guy gave her his name. She gave him a smile then. "Madalene, or Maddie. Whichever you want to use." The person then told her how much it was, and Maddie handed over the money. She then took the bags, and waited for Vinnie to finish at his register. Once he was there, Maddie looked around, and saw a cafe just a few metres away. Nodding in that direction, Maddie spoke. "There is one over there." Not waiting, Maddie headed in the direction of the cafe.

When the girl laughed, Vinnie couldn’t help but join in, when she said she happened to know that guys like him liked playing games, he raised his eyebrow at her. “Is tha’ righ’? An’ jus’ wha’ makes ya say tha’?” He paused for a second, then grinned, “Wai’ don’ answer tha’.” Vinnie was definitely a bit of a womaniser, but he wasn’t exactly the type to hurt a female, at least not on purpose at any rate. He figured it was probably his smart mouth that made her think that about him, and maybe in some ways he did like playing games, but only until he got the attention of the girl he had his eyes on, after that he calmed down.
After Vinnie had spoken of his younger sister, whom he was protective of, he saw that warm smile she gave him, and then she looked down at her hands, before speaking again. This time she was telling him she had a younger and older brother and she was protective of them. “I think it’s only natural to feel protective of yer family, especially yer siblings, especially when they’re all ya’ve got.” Vinnie hadn’t quite meant to say so much, but it was true, Sookie was all he had in his life now where family were concerned.
After the girl had said she had better let him go, Vinnie decided to ask if he could walk her home, help her with her shopping or take her for a coffee, anything to try and a little more time with her. There just seemed to be something about her he liked, he couldn’t really work it out, but he was certain a lot of it was to do with the fact she wasn’t so easy to charm like other girls. She was a challenge and he liked it, a lot. He wasn’t really sure if she would agree to it or not, but when she replied and said sure, Vinnie couldn’t help but grin broadly at her. “Tha’s great, thanks.” He would have added the whole looking forward to it line, but seeing how it was going to happen almost immediately, there was no real need for that line.
While the both of them paid for their shopping, Vinnie had occasionally looked at her, and noticed she was doing the same thing. Usually when that happened it was embarrassing as hell, but not this time, he just kept smiling at her. There was definitely something about this girl, was Vinnie the original womaniser about to actually settle down, instead of flirting outrageously with every female he met? Only time would tell. Vinnie had then introduced himself, and the girl did likewise. “Tha’s a real pretty name ya’ve got. Maddie it is then.” Well, he had given her his abbreviated name, he was really Vincent but preferred Vinnie, Vinnie and Maddie, and it was kind of nice in a way.
Vinnie was soon served as was Maddie, and she was soon pointing out a cafe which was just a few meters away and began to head toward it. “Tha’ sounds good enough to me.” Vinnie then headed in the direction Maddie had walked, before sitting down, “Wha’ can I get fer ya then, an’ I’ll go an’ order it.” He knew there were different types of coffee, and not everybody settled for latte or cappuccino.

Maddie opened her mouth, to actually answer him, but then he told her not to answer the question that he had just asked. She quickly shut her mouth and shook her head. "Fine then." Madde then laughed a little, wondering what he might have thought. Now she was really wondering if he was the type of guy she thought he was. Maybe there was more to him than meets the eye.
"I have to agree. I don't know what I would do if either of them got hurt. Even if it wasn't my fault, I would still feel responsible, you know? I know they have their own lives and all, but still." Maddie shrugged her shoulders, and looked away. But then remembered what he said about being protective, especially when they were all you've got. She wondered if his sister was all he had left of his family. If they continued to talk, she might ask that later, but in all honesty she had to go, so she might never find out.
As she waited at the register, and finally gave over her name, Maddie had to smile at Vinnie, feeling herself blush a bit. So now it was evident that this guy had certainly brought down her wall that she constantly put up. "Thanks." Once they had both paid for their items, and Maddie had pointed out the cafe, she gave him another smile, when he said that it sounded good. So Maddie had led the way, somehow not waiting for him.
They soon got there, and sat down. Vinnie asked her what she wanted, saying that he would then go and order it. Maddie's gaze left his, and turned to look at the board of what was there. "Um, I think I will have a cappuccino and a slice of orange cake." Maddie turned back to Vinnie, and grinned, "Love anything to do with orange."

{ooc - sorry for the delay - a bloody week - I've never taken that long in my life before a week for fecks sake!! lol}
Vinnie couldn’t help but burst out with laughter when he saw she was going to answer his question, and then he had told her not to. Thankfully she laughed after saying ‘fine then’. Vinnie really was a terrible person, he had all the tricks of the trade for catching a woman’s eye, but once he had it, he usually wasn’t quite so bad, although sometimes he would play up on it, just a little bit, usually to make them laugh, or get some sort of reaction or rise out of them. However, if he began to tell his ways were really hurting the female in question, he always backed down and apologised, he wasn’t the type to hurt a woman, definitely not in a physical way, and certainly not on purpose mentally.
They then began to speak about family, and when said she didn’t know what she would do if either of them got hurt and she’d still feel responsible even if it wasn’t her fault. He could relate to that. He always felt responsible for Sookie, even more since she began hanging around vampires. Ben seemed alright, at least from what he could see he treated her well enough, it was that other one he didn’t really trust much, that Viktor, there was just something, well kind of cold and creepy about him, and not just because he was a vampire. “Yeah, I know exactly wha’ ya mean, I always feel responsible fer Sookie, if anythin’ happened to her, well, I’d be devastated tha’s fer sure.” He’d be the only one left in his family; at least, as far as he was concerned he didn’t think he and Sookie had any other family, if they did, then they would be distant relatives.
When the girl had finally given him her name, he told her it was a pretty name she had, and he couldn’t help but notice the blush. Strike one he thought, or had he already struck one before? Who knew, maybe it was strike two, or three, but for now, as far as he was concerned, that blush was definitely strike one. She thanked him, and he winked at her, “Yer welcome.” Then they had decided to spend more time together and go for a coffee, Maddie had pointed out a place for them to go and soon they were there and Vinnie had asked what she would like.
He couldn’t help but grin when she asked for a slice of orange cake, then before he could stop himself, his mouth opened and out came the Vinnie charm or the Vinnie annoyance, depended on the individual and how they looked at it naturally. “Orange cake, really? An’ here was me thinkin’ ya were fruity enough already.” No sooner were the words out of his mouth, he hung his head down a little, and scratched at his head, and then slowly looked back up at her again, shaking his head, “Sorry, tha’ was kinda bad huh?” He chuckled, “Alrigh’ be back in a few.” Then he went off to get Maddie’s order as well as his own. He took a look around wondering what to have himself, and decided he’d go for the other cake, the lemon one. Nothing better than a bit of tang and zest in your mouth to tickle the taste buds he reckoned.
Soon he was back at their table, he handed over the cappuccino and the slice of orange cake to Maddie with a smile, and then he placed his own slice of lemon cake and latte onto his table and put the tray to the side and sat down. Before he even began to eat or drink anything, he looked up and grinned and couldn’t help himself but to say, “Well, this is actually kinda surprisin’ considerin’ how our conversation was goin’ at the beginnin’, don’ ya think?” He chuckled a little, and then took a sip of his latte and a small bite of the lemon cake, when he’d finished, he continued, “But hafta say, am sure glad we managed to build a few bridges an’ actually talk to one another.” Maybe, just maybe, she might be the one for him, the one to tame the lion so to speak.

Maddie totally understood, when Vinnie spoke about his sister, what with her having brothers as well. But she alson knew that they would do anything for her as well, so it worked both ways. All Maddie could do was nod in agreement to what Vinnie said.
When Maddie ordered her cake and coffee, she heard Vinnie commented on it. She frowned slightly, wondering what he was getting at. Did he think she was a bit of a fruit cake or something? She was about to say something in reply, when she saw him hang his head, and then say sorry, asking if it was kind of bad. Maddie smirked, and nodded a little. "Just a little bit. But I will forgive you this time." Maddie giggled and then watched him order their things.
Vinnie soon came back with their things, and she took the coffe and cake off of him, placing it on the table in front of her. Maddie picked a small bit of the cake off, and placed it into her mouth. She closed her eyes as it practically melted in her mouth. Once it was gone, Maddie had to comment. "This is fantastic cake." Without hesitating, Maddie got the fork, put a bit of cake on it, and moved it towards Vinnie's mouth, waiting to see if he would take any.
Vinnie then commented about what they were doing now, considering how their conversation was going at the beginning. Maddie kind of smiled then. She watched Vinnie have a sip of his coffee and a bite of his lemon cake. "I agree. I think that you might have just broken through the wall I continually put up with guys. I just feel that somtimes that is my only safety net. But it seems that maybe you might be a bit of okay." Maddie then listened to what Vinnie said next. She gave him another smile, and nodded a little. "Yes. But let's just see how this little chat goes, okay?" She then sipped her coffee, but looked at Vinnie over her cup. He might be the guy for her, after her many disasterous dates. There might be a light at the end of the tunnel for her after all.
{ooc - now I should apologise for having taken so long. And not sure how much more will be going on in this thread. I didn't put a lot in this - but not deliberately - just only got out a small amount.}

{ooc - its okay Mel - these things can happen - there's only so much you can do with a chance meeting like this one was and going for coffee. We can hopefully do something more interesting with them the next thread - especially if I get this V plot kicked off with him}
Vinnie couldn’t believe when he had questioned Maddie’s food choice with the orange cake, of course to him, a female being a bit fruity meant that they were sassy and sexy, and he so hoped she understood what he had meant by saying that. However, he also knew it was quite a bad chat up line and hung his head apologising. Thankfully she said it was alright, even if she did agree that it was a little bad. She giggled a little, which was good, “I still got it then I see, I mean I made ya laugh, tha’s gotta count fer somethin’ righ’?” He chuckled himself then. He had then gone off to order what they wanted and he was back within a few moments.
After passing Maddie’s order over to her, he watched as she took a bite of the cake, she looked like she was heaven as she tasted it. She commented on the cake being fantastic, and before he could reply, she was pushing a forkful of it his way. Why not, he thought, as he moved closer and took the piece off the fork. She was right, it was fantastic. He began nodding his head, and then once he had swallowed, “Yeah, it sure is nice alrigh’. He then took a bite of his own cake, and it was just as nice if not better. Vinnie always liked lemon flavouring.
“Ya know, this one’s real nice an’ all. Ya wanna taste it?” So he more or less copied her move, and pushed a piece of cake on his fork toward her. He wasn’t sure if she was a lemon fan or not, so he figured he’d soon find out. After waiting to see if she would take it or not, he then went and ate another piece himself and then drank some of his latte, finding that he was really surprisingly enjoying the company considering she was so cold to him at the start. Vinnie had then commented as much and he couldn’t help but crack an endearing warm smile at her words. “Well, am sure glad I managed to break some of them walls down ya know, cause I meant wha’ I said earlier, yer a mighty fine lookin’ woman.” This time there were no puns, no chuckles, or winks or teasing, he just continued to give her a genuine warm smile.
When Maddie had said to wait and see how the conversation goes they were currently having, he nodded his head slowly, “Sure, tha’s fine by me, I ain’ gonna push ya, since it seems I’ve already managed to get ya talkin’ to me, ain’ no point in spoilin’ anythin’ by pushin’ any further.” This was definitely a new Vinnie, usually he would continue to push and pursue until the women either crumbled or eventually told him to piss off, sometimes the word fuck was used. He realised after talking to Maddie for a while, he didn’t want her to be one of those women. “So, anythin’ else ya can tell me abou’ yerself, see if we can get to know each other a little more?” He asked, smiling as he took another sip of his latte. If they were going to spend some time together having a coffee, they might as well get to know one another more, especially if there was a chance of spending time together again.

Maddie smirked, then shook her head a little, when Vinnie said that he still had it as he had made her laugh. "Maybe it might count. Who knows right now." Maddie then watched him go and order their food and drinks. She had to admit, he did look pretty hot from behind, as well as the front. Maddie just knew that something might come out of this chance meeting with him, and her walls might just come crashing down, not ever appearing again.
After Maddie offered a bit of her cake to Vinnie, she watched him take it. She smiled then, as he nodded as he ate it, then once it was gone, he commented. Maddie knew that he would like it. She took another bite of her cake, as he ate some of his own. Maddie was definately going to have to buy some more of this cake, to take it home with her. Then as Maddie looked at him, Vinnie asked her if she wanted to taste his cake. "Why not? I shared mine." Maddie then took the piece of cake, and slowly ate it. Once she swallowed it, she looked at him with a grin. "It is just as nice as mine. But still like mine better." Maddie grinned, then slightly laughed.
When Maddie spoke about him breaking down some of those walls, Vinnie commented, which made her smile a little. Just hearing that compliment again, made her blush slightly. Most of the guys she had dated never ever said sweet things to her, unless they had gotten her into bed, then that was the only time. "Thank you Vinnie." Maddie then took a mouthful of her drink, but looking right at Vinnie the whole time, over her cup.
Maddie was happy that Vinnie wasn't going to push her into anything. She had to smile though when he said that he had manged to get her talking to him. "Okay, thanks for that. I am just sick and tired of guys pushing so much, that in the end I will just give in, you know? Maybe that is all I have even known. But being here with you, it is kind of refreshing." Maddie took a big bit of her cake, noticing that it was about three quarters finished already. Oh well, she thought, it was nice while it lasted. Then Vinnie asked if she had anything else she could tell him about herself.
"Not sure what you want to hear. But might as well just mention a couple of things. You already know my thing with the colour orange, or anything to do with orange. I also love going drinking, writing and love anything that can give me that adrenaline rush." Maddie took a sip of her coffee, then continued. "My biggest dislike is boats and noisy rooms." Maddie wondered if this was enough to start off with, because if they were going to see each other a bit more, more of her likes and dislike would eventually come out.
