After Matt compared Emilie to Beyonce instead of Mariah Carey, the diva she had mentioned she had replied to him quite happy with the comparison. Well for one Beyonce was one of her favourite singers and she had a figure to die for, so being compared to Beyonce was quite something. When Matt said in what she had to assume was a joking manner that it was his duty to serve and protect the egos of people worldwide she had to laugh a little, joining in with Matt’s own chuckling. When he bowed Emilie couldn’t help but smile and did a half curtsey like she was facing the Queen of England. “Well Sir, it is certainly very noble of you to do such a thing and if I may be allowed to say, it is very good to know that there are people like you around who are willing to serve and protect our egos.” She had put on the best English accent she could muster before falling into deep laughter.
Matt had then, struggling with his words the first time, asked her out on a lunch date. Maybe she shouldn’t have been so quick to say yes, after everything she had been through in her past couple of years, but with Matt being a special like her she honestly didn’t see what harm it would have done, and besides everybody needed friends. So when Matt had said that it was sweet and then suggested the Saturday and where to meet, Emilie smiled and leaned in toward him more. “Just to let you know, I wouldn’t normally just say yes like that, not after everything I’ve been through, but you’re like me, and something tells me I can trust you.” She had no idea why she felt she could trust him, but something somewhere said she could. She then decided to answer his question about the Saturday and his suggestion of a place to meet.
“Saturday is fine babe; I do very little at the weekends, especially during the day.” She then thought some more about the location, she couldn’t see a problem with that either, “And meeting at the Washington Memorial sounds good to me. So it’s a...” She trailed off and took a sip of her drink before continuing, “...date then?” She raised her eyebrow slightly and just smiled at him. She wondered what her father would think of her agreeing to a date like she just had given how she was when he had found her and helped get her back on her feet, but she knew that her dad loved people like them, specials, so he probably wouldn’t have too much of a problem with it.
