November 20th, 2009 It went silent as Eli began to pull his phone away from his ear. He just go off the phone with an old friend, and she didn't sound to good. So he made plans to come over to her place and talk about face to face, person to person. Slipping the phone into his pocket, he ignited his blue Ford truck. It roared at first but then it quieted with the sounds all around him. Eli left the multi-level parking ramp and began to make his way to Rosie's house. Eli was still in suit and tie, only because he just got off work. Eli is an amateur lawyer, making his way up in the world. Driving through the streets, he slowly made his way to Rosie's apartment. He parked his car and made his way up to her front door. Knocking on it a couple times, he tried to think on what was wrong. He went through so many situations that could be making her down like this. But he didn't want to choose one, and find out it to be totally different. He prepared himself for the worst and he would be ready from the minute she opened the door.

Rosie couldn’t believe it when she heard the news, her brother Cameron was dead. It just didn’t seem real to her, she only had her father and half brother Shaun left now. She didn’t even have Ira anymore, things fell apart for them a couple of months after the engagement. Rosie figured it was the pressure she had put on him about starting a family. She had gotten very broody after she had almost died in the bank heist. However, she could tell it wasn’t really something Ira had wanted, and when she brought the subject up to him again, they decided it would be best to end things between them. Rosie was heartbroken, she had no fiancé and now she wasn’t going to be a mother as soon as she would have liked. However, she soon got over it, she was only twenty six, so she figured she still had time enough yet to have a baby.
The only person she could think of to talk to about the death of Cameron other than her own father who was even more devastated than herself, because he had lost yet another one of his children, it would seem their family was destined for tragedy and despair, was her old friend Eli Roxton, she hadn’t seen him for a while, actually, it was probably since she had met Ira, it was like her old life and friends no longer existed. Well Rosie felt it was time she moved on with her life, moved on from Ira and she had always loved Eli as a friend and got on well with him, so she had called him, not telling him over the phone the problem, but she knew the sadness in her voice would be evident to him.
She had been lying on her bed in tears when she heard the door to her apartment being knocked upon, knowing it would be Eli, she sat up and tried to compose herself, wiping at her eyes, although she had been crying so much that her eyes would be red raw, so really she wouldn’t have been able to hide the fact well. She opened the door and gave him a weak smile, “Eli, I’m so sorry that we haven’t been in touch for a while, thank you for coming. I needed to talk to someone, and unfortunately I can’t talk to dad about this.” She then stood back allowing Eli to walk in and then she closed her door behind him and led the way into her living room. “Please, take a seat; can I get you anything to drink?” She barely got the words out when she began to feel a lump in her throat and the tears soon began to fall again, curse it she thought, she really didn’t want to get upset in front of Eli.
{ooc - changed the date to 20th November, as that's the day Cameron died - I think it would have more affect if it was soon after you know? And I'll make a new Rosie sig soon - hopefully when I get to make Eli's}

Eli stood there waiting for Rosie to open the door. Shortly after he knocked, he heard the twist of the door knob. He smiled as the door opened and there was Rosie. He could tell she had been crying. Her eyes were red and there were streaks of where tears had flown on her cheeks. He shook his head from side to side. "You don't need to apologize. Besides, I have been a little busy myself." he said smiling at her.
He then entered her apartment as she stepped aside to let him in. "No thanks. I'm good." he said as he took a seat on the couch in her living room. He patted his hand on the couch to the left of him. He was motioning her to sit there. He needed to find out what was wrong and get caught up with each others lives since they have gone their own separate ways for a while. "Please sit. Tell me whats wrong Rose." he said with a worried look on his face.

When Rosie apologised to Eli for not being in touch for a while she watched as he shook his head and told her she didn’t have to be sorry and added that he had been a little busy himself. She gave him a weak watery smile then. “Thanks for understanding Eli.” She would have asked him what had been keeping him busy, but she figured if he wanted to tell her would, and also, it would possibly have him asking what she had been up to and well, none of it she would be able to tell him without getting overly upset, of that she was sure. Besides, she was barely holding it together to talk to him at all him. Maybe if she calmed down enough later, they could talk about what had been keeping them both busy.
Once Eli was inside her apartment and she offered him a seat, she then asked if he would like something to drink. He refused politely telling her he was fine. “Okay then.” It was maybe just as well, as Rosie wasn’t sure if she’d have been able to deal with holding the kettle or anything like that, as her hands were still shaking somewhat at hearing the news earlier that day. After Eli sat, he patted the seat next to him and told her to sit and tell him what was wrong. She saw that worried look on his face and it took Rosie all her time not to start crying again, but she managed to stop the tears from falling, even if they were sitting in her eyes.
“Oh Eli, I feel like my world is falling apart.” That was pretty much all she got out before the tears began to fall again. There was so much she had to tell him, so much he probably wasn’t aware of, that she should tell him, but she truly didn’t know where to start. However, she couldn’t just tell him that, he would then ask what she meant. Knowing she’d have to tell him sooner or later what was really getting her so upset, she might as well just come out with it. “Cameron died this morning Eli, an accident during practicing to qualify for the Winter Olympics. What is it with our family? Are we all destined to die young? I almost died myself a few months ago, and now this, it’s just too much.” It was a wonder Rosie was even able to get those words out, before she crumbled, as she put her head into her hands and began to sob once more.
There was so much more she could tell him, really Cameron’s death was just the icing on the cake of a bad few months for Rosie. Really she should have contacted Eli a lot sooner than she had, but she didn’t. At least she had now and he was here, and hopefully he would be able to offer her some sort of comfort and sympathy. This was when she realised how much she actually missed having Ira in her life now, because he would have been there to comfort her, just like he had been all those months ago when he’d found her in tears over the death of her other brother Tony. The Osborne’s were cursed, Rosie was definitely sure of it.
