7:30am-Monday morning
“It is with great regret that I inform you that this morning, at exactly 5:42am Eastern Standard Time, a nuclear bomb was dropped over Atlanta, Georgia. A terrorist group calling themselves Vereor claims responsibility for these actions. While their reach is great- they claim to have ties worldwide including Russia, Germany, China, Australia, and throughout the United Kingdom- they have acquired neither the financial abilities nor the power needed to create a weapon of any substantial power. Atlanta and the surrounding areas are in ruins, but it appears this is the depths of their abilities. All phone and internet communication has been temporarily halted, for the safety of you and your families. Military personnel have been deployed to the following cities: Los Angeles, New York City, Boston, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. We ask that if you see or hear anything of a suspicious nature, you report it immediately to one of these men or women. Curfews have been temporarily placed for 10pm local time, once again for your safety. Please do not leave your homes unless absolutely necessary. I can not stress the importance of this. We are presumed to be under attack by this group and should be treated as such. As soon as we have more information on this, we will share it with you. For now, keep your families safe and-…”
A shot rings out. The camera is dropped, focusing in on scattered feet scrambling towards the exits. President Turner has been assassinated. Amidst the yelling and screaming, a voice echoes out, clearly amplified through the use of a megaphone.
“You cannot stop us all.”

One week ago, Atlanta, Georgia was leveled by a nuclear weapon. The group Vereor claims responsibility, yet little is known about this organization. Who are they, and more importantly, why have they done this? There were no demands, no warnings. Not even a whisper that this organization existed, yet they seemed to have achieved the capability to not only manufacture a nuclear weapon, but use it against the US, seemingly overnight. Since then, the United States military has taken up what is quickly appearing to be a permanent residence in the five major cities the government has deemed “areas of great interest.” While the former President stated the phone and internet jam would be temporary, it has yet to come back on and to add to that, all television broadcasts have been suspended since the assassination. Little is known about what has taken place in Atlanta, as well as if there are survivors. But more importantly, what is going on outside of the cities? All the borders are closed and no one has been allowed in or out except military officials and trucks that bring in food. Any and all contact with the outside world has ceased, at least for the time being.
The people are restless however. The luxuries that have become a part of everyday life have disappeared and people are beginning to want them back. More importantly though, people want to know what’s going on. There are rumors abound ranging from plausible to absolutely absurd. Most people are starting to wonder whether or not Atlanta was the only city hit; a viable conclusion. Though few, a very select few, seem to believe nothing has happened at all.
How far is too far? At what point do safety measures become control? Where do you draw the line in a world that has been taken from your hands? Now it’s time for you to decide what side you will fall on. The government has yet to fail you, right? These are the people that you have elected and put into office and they’re doing nothing more than protecting you. That is, of course, if that’s what they’re doing. But there are whispers of a new group rising up. Logos have been appearing as graffiti on buildings and bridges, yet just like Vereor, little is known about them. The only message anyone has seen so far:
