28th November 2009 It was a saturday morning, actually it was heading towards lunch, but that didn't bother Samantha in the slightest. She had had a big night the night before, due to tracking down another person with the most powerful magic she had ever come across. Sam thought that she had pretty much tracked down most of the powerful witches and warlocks in New York, but it seemed that she hadn't. But now after last nights little escapade, she hoped she had. So now the buzz of the magic was almost all gone, and Sam felt more powerful than ever. It was so nice to actually be in the company of the powerful warlock, before she had to kill him, using his own powers. Sad, but true. Sam headed towards the local supermarket to buy a few things that she knew she might need for some spells, like some herbs and other things. Plus her fridge was a little empty. Grabbing a basket, Sam first headed towards the aisle where the fresh herbs were kept, in order to get the shopping done.

Alexei was in New York for the weekend; he and a few of his colleagues from the lab had attended a conference for work there the previous couple days, and Alexei had decided to stick around the city for an extra day, explore a little, maybe see some friends that lived in the city. It was only a few hours drive from where he lived, but Alexei didn't actually go into the city all that often.
Alexei waited at the light to cross the street with other pedestrians on the sidewalk, expertly navigating his wheelchair around the other people on the street when the light turned green. He didn't have a specific destination in mind at the time, but this area of the city was bound to have somewhere interesting.
Alexei glanced up at the signs above the stores as he wheeled along the sidewalk, then turned and entered a grocery store. He might as well get a few things while he was here. Not that he had anything really specific in mind, again, but he could use a few things. Making his way up one of the aisles, he paused to look at a shelf. Alexei wheeled his chair backwards slightly to scan the shelf, but he accidentally backed into someone holding a shopping basket.
He quickly moved forward again and twisted his head around to look behind him. "I'm so sorry," he apologized quickly. "Not looking where I was going, sorry."

Samantha soon spotted the various herbs that she would need for spells to use, next time she came across someone who seemed more powerful than herself. Sometimes she wondered if she would come across someone like herself. That would be very scary, thought Sam, knowing full well what goes through her head when she is extremely evil, and into the dark magic.
Sam then headed into the next aisle, deciding she needed some bread. She was soon standing in front of the various brands that there were to offer for white bread. Sam just instantly grabbed the cheapest one there was, and was just about to put it into her basket, when someone bumped into her. She got angry then, and looked up, "Hey, watch w...." Sam soon stopped to notice that it was a man in a wheelchair. She instantly felt bad, which didn't happen very often for Sam.
The man then moved his wheelchair forward, and looked around to apologise. Normally with people bumping into her, Sam would have gone right off at them, but this was different. Samantha walked around to the front of the man, and looked. "It's okay. Maybe you just need to add a rear view mirror or something to your wheelchair." Sam didn't know if that sounded a bit stupid or not, so decided to add more. "It's all good. No one was hurt, so apology accepted."
Now normally, Sam would have just walked away, but she wondered, for some unknown reason if this guy wanted any help. "Did you want any help? Not sure if you want it or not, but I am offering." Sam swung her basket a little, waiting for any response.

As Alexei accidentally bumped into the person, he heard her start to say something, probably to tell him to watch where he was going, but then he heard her stop herself. Probably noticed that he was in a wheelchair and figured that made a difference. Well, whatever. As long as she wasn't mad at him, Alexei didn't like making people mad at him.
After Alexei apologized, turning himself around to look up at the woman that he had bumped into, she said that it was okay, no harm had been done. He offered a sheepish grin as he glanced up at her, and then laughed when she suggested he install a rearview mirror on his wheelchair. "Well, there is always that idea."
The woman then offered help if he needed it, and just by coincidence, there was a loaf of bread up on the top shelf that Alexei had his eyes on. "Actually, can you grab one of those loaves of bread up there?" he asked, pointing. Then he figured he might as well introduce himself. "I'm Alexei."

Samantha knew her mouth would have gotten her into trouble so much, if the guy wasn't in a wheelchair. If any trouble had been started, then it would have been hell to pay for him and the rest of the people in the supermarket. There was a small piece of humanity in Samantha, and this was coming out towards the man in the wheelchair. When she had commented that no harm was done, she noticed that little grin of his. Sam wasn't sure whether he was take offence or not to her comment about installing a review mirror, but was glad when he laughed at it. All Sam could do was smile back.
Sam had then offered him her help again. This was getting over the odds. First she was being nice to him, and now she was doing it again by offering her help. Boy, what was happening to her? Sam gave him a small smile. "Okay." Her eyes travelled to where he had been pointing to, and picked up the loaf of bread for him. As she turned to give it to him, he gave her his name. Sam handed him the loaf of bried. "Interesting name. Sam." Sam held out her hand, not sure whether he would take it or not. But really he might as he seemed like the kind of person who was always polite or something.
Once introductions were done, Sam looked around awkwardly. "So. Do you need anymore help? Or anything?" Sam practically had the whole day to do whatever, till the night when she would go on the prowl again to find more powerful people to steal magic from.

Alexei had come to realize that getting mad at people didn't do anything, and even if someone said something stupid, they usually weren't meaning to be offensive or dense, and they just honestly didn't know what to say to him.
However, the woman had seemed completely helpful, even though it was he that had bumped into her, not the other way around. Some people got angry, some people went into the pity mode...frankly, it got old sometimes. But the woman didn't seem angry, which was nice.
"Thanks," he said, as the woman tossed him the loaf of bread from the top shelf. "Nice to meet you, Sam," he said, extending his hand up slightly to shake her hand that she extended towards him.

{ooc - I am sooooooo sorry Kate for making you wait all this time - I feel so bad.}
Sam gave the guy the brea, and then gave him a small smile, as he thanked her. Normally she never got that return of normal human greeting, and somehow it seemed nice coming from him. Sam shook her head a little, wondering what was happening to her. She never went for guys, only the lovely, fairer sex, which she was. But Sam was nowhere near that kind of girl. There was that darker side to her that came out at night when she hunted down the dark magiks she craved.
Again, when Alexei said it was nice to meet her, she had to hold back a smirk, as really, if he knew what she was capable of, he would have held the nice words back. Once they shakes hands, Sam wondered what she shold do or say, so she had asked him if he wanted help with anything else, and waited for his reply.
