28th October, 2009 It had been a month since Vinnie had met Maddie in the supermarket that day, and he thankfully hadn’t looked back since. He had a beautiful woman to call his own, and he had Sookie, his life was pretty much complete, which was something it hadn’t been for a long time. There was just one thing missing and he didn’t really blame Sookie for being the way she was, but sometimes, just sometimes he wished he could be like her and have an amazing power like she had. You see Sookie could read people’s thoughts and for the most part Vinnie hated it, he hated to think that she could tell anything he was thinking, and usually told her to shut herself off to him, but he knew it wasn’t easy for her. So needless to say, sometimes he felt annoyed that she could be special and he had to be just normal. He couldn’t understand why Sookie could have this power and he had nothing, well apart from his muscles, he pretty much had nothing special, unless you counted the way he could charm the pants off of women, but he didn’t need to do that anymore, he had his girl and he was happy with her, but he always had this need for something more. Something fun, something exciting, something dangerous and he had found it, or so he thought; it’s just that it would become more dangerous for him than he could ever imagine. Now Vinnie was sitting in a park on a bench holding the small vial in his hand which contained vampire blood, he began to swirl it around his fingers, wondering exactly what it could do. The person he had got it from told him to use it in small quantities because it was very powerful. It was called V, and it was a new drug doing the rounds. Vinnie would never have been aware of it if it hadn’t been for the fact his sister dated a vampire and worked for a vampire. It was weird when you never believed in the supernatural and then suddenly your life began to revolve around it in a big way. Eventually after wondering about it for a few minutes, he finally decided to pour half the contents down his throat, so much for taking it in small quantities. No sooner had he swallowed it his head began to spin. The next thing to happen was like he was in some sort of heaven, like eternal bliss, and it was like he was invincible and nobody or nothing could harm him. “Wow, this sure is wha’ I would call a trip an’ a half.” The guy who had given him it said he would give him more, or sell him more, if he could find someone to sell the second vial he had on him, so now he just needed to find someone who was willing for a power trip like the one Vinnie was currently going through.

Jake had had a bad run this year so far. Or maybe some of the bad luck was involved as well. He had had some fun with flirty and getting into girls pants over the first half of the year. Jake couldn't believe how easy it was with one girl in particular. Then he had run into his old girl, Anastacia, from when he was in collage. She had never changed, especially when he was able to have sex with her. She had still felt so good, and he kind of knew that he might never get her in that way again, as he didn't want to run into her boyfriend, Brendan, if they were still together that was. Jake had no idea, but really girls in relationships were not that hard to crack.
But the worst of the year was when he got busted for possession of drugs. He had hoped that he would never get caught. This has been Jake's first time at dealing, and now he knew he would always be his last, unless a good deal came along. Lucky for him, after starting a stint in jail, the guy who had given him the drugs, got him out, and put himself in jail. Jake would be forever grateful for Reefer doing that, and would always be in his debt. Though sometimes it was not always a good thing being out in public, especially when your own father wanted to give you a piece of his mind. Jake was old enough to take care of himself, even if he hadn't really done a good job lately. But maybe, just maybe his father might be actually breaking through Jake's hard, and smart ass exterior after all. Who knew.
So today Jake decided to go for a walk, to clear his head, and think more about what he father spoke about a week and a half about. Maybe his father was right, maybe he did need to try and get his life back on track. But maybe Jake was never destined for that in the end. Maybe his life was meant to be shit after all. As Jake walked passed the small park, he noticed a guy sitting, looking at something in a vile. Jake's curiosity kicked in, making him want to know what this guy had that was so interesting. As he got closer, he saw the guy down some of it, which made Jake stop, and move slowly off the path, in case there was anyone on it. He sat down on a bench about two feet away, and just watched.
Then he noticed that the guy changed a little, and that just made Jake get up and head over to the guy. "Hey man. How's it going? Whatcha got there? Looks like something that I might be interested in." Jake knew that if he got involved in drugs again, he might just get in trouble with the law again. But if he stayed low this time, he might just get away with it.

After Vinnie’s head stopped spinning from downing half of the vampire blood from the vial he began to feel like he was invincible. Seconds and minutes later the feeling just got stronger and stronger. Vinnie felt different, almost as if he had a power running through him and he could take on anybody, take on the world. The man who had sold Vinnie the vial forgot to mention the reason for taking the V in small quantities; because the drug was made from vampire blood the more you drank the more like a vampire you became, from the immense strength and super senses down to the craving of blood, but not human blood, vampire blood, you craved the V, that was just how good it made you feel. Vinnie was so high on his own personal trip he didn’t notice the other guy approach him until he began to talk. Vinnie squinted to look at him, even for October the sun was streaming through the sky.
Vinnie began to laugh uncontrollably at first, but not wanting the other guy to think he was crazy and disappear and have his opportunity to sell the other vial of V taken away from him he put his hand up with one finger motioning for him to wait a second. Once Vinnie calmed down from his laughing he grinned at the other guy. “Hey, it was goin’ great an’ now it’s goin’ even better.” Vinnie began to laugh again and then felt a head rush come on him, so he laid back in the bench and put his free hand up to his head. “Whoa, head rush man.” He began to laugh again a little and then calmed down again realising that the laughing wasn’t helping his head rush. The guy’s question then came back into Vinnie’s head again. He held up the vial with the rest of the contents of the V in it. “This ma friend is somethin’ called V, have ya heard of it?” Vinnie asked curiously, although Vinnie had only heard of it about a week ago when Sookie spoke of Ben and Viktor getting annoyed that some of their people had been getting held captive for their blood.
Vinnie being Vinnie and protective of Sookie had gone right to Ben to get answers from him and Ben filled him in on the story. Naturally with Vinnie always feeling different to Sookie he knew he had to give it a shot, just to see if it would make him feel different and it had certainly done that. Vinnie wasn’t sure how much about the drug he should tell this guy, after all what if he told him the truth and he didn’t believe him and laughed at him? Ah well it would be his loss thought Vinnie, then he realised that no, he had to believe him, this was his chance of being able to get more, if he got another interested in the stuff. “It’s a drug made from vampire blood. An’ afore ya go sayin’ they don’ exist an’ all tha’, trust me they do. Ma sister dates one an’ works fer one. Found out it makes normal people like me feel different. Got told to take it in small quantities, but I couldn’ help maself, an’ now I feel like I could stand in front of a bus an’ it wouldn’ even put a scratch on me, I jus’ feel, I dunno man, I feel like I’ve got this inner strength I ain’ ever had afore ya know?” Vinnie got up from the bench he was sitting on.
“I wanna see if it’s jus’ ma imagination or if I really do have some strength.” With that Vinnie grabbed a hold of the bench he had been sitting on and tugged at it. It didn’t take much of a tug when it came out of the concrete ground with ease. Vinnie’s eyes opened wide, “D’ya see tha’? Did ya?” However when the guy who sold the V to didn’t tell him what drinking a lot of the drug could do, he also didn’t know about the temporary effects, unknown to Vinnie the vampire attributes he had now would begin to wear off after about an hour or when he started to come down from the trip. He looked at the other guy and pulled out the other vial from his jeans pocket, “If yer still interested, maybe ya could buy this one from me, an’ then I’ll set ya up with the guy I got mine from.” Vinnie wondered if the guy would go for it or not, he hoped he would because it would be Vinnie’s golden ticket to get more of this stuff, which according to Vinnie was definitely the best trip he’d ever been on.

Jake noticed the guy squinting at him, as he spoke to the guy, then the guy began to laugh. Okay, thought Jake, so whatever he has taken is making him feel good. Jake then knew that he wanted whatever the guy had now. The guy then put his finger up, so Jake waited for him to be a bit more conscious and in the right frame of mind to speak. When he spoke, Jake raised his eyebrows, then let let a smirk speak on his lips. Jake knew that this is what he wanted, what he wanted to maybe keep his life on the straight and narrow. Maybe drugs were the answer after all.
Jake continued to watch the guy, as he sat back, mentioning something about head rush, and heard the laughter start again. Maybe Jake should just leave the guy alone, if he wasn't going to be able to talk and answer the question he had asked. He was going to turn away, when the laughter ceased, and the guy spoke. Jake looked at what he was holding up, and listened to what he said. He shook his head. He hadn't heard about it, just the normal drugs, the powered and tablet kind, not the liquid kind at all.
Jake was about to ask him what it actually was, the guy spoke about what it was. He frowned a little, thinking that maybe this guy was high on something. Surely vampires are not real, just some guys who think they are. But the guy, to Jake, seemed to be telling the truth, he could just tell. Then hearing how he was feeling with taking some of this drug, made Jake want it all the more. Jake was human after all, and had no ability. He knew of people who did, like his father, who he still is angry at for as he never got to obtain one, getting to be a normal human like his mother. But he loved his mother still, despite her being dead.
The guy spoke again, and Jake watched him grab the bench, and pull at it, making it come out of the concrete ground. "Whoa, man. That is pretty impressive." Jake was more than impressed, he wanted to try the drug, and maybe take on some people, showing them who was boss. His father's talk was now the thing of the passed, or it was for now. The guy then pulled out what looked like another vial of the drug, and asked Jake basically if he wanted to buy it, and then he would set him up with the guy he got his from. Jake looked at it, and without hesitation took it off of him. "Sure will. Will this be enough." Jake reached into his wallet, and handed the guy over two hundred dollars. "So, how much of this do you take?"

Vinnie had such a trip and head rush from the V he had taken it took him quite some time to compose himself to talk to the guy who had come up to him asking what he had. Vinnie was in desperate need for someone to buy the other vial off of him so he could then get more from the supplier, as that had been the deal. So once he had stopped laughing, he began to get serious, or at least, as serious as he could to talk to the guy. Vinnie had then gone into detail about what it was he had taken and where it came from. He could tell the guy didn’t believe him at first, but the soon as he told him his sister dated one and worked for one it seemed to work, as instead of walking away which Vinnie thought he might do, he stayed.
Vinnie had then begun to feel like he had this inner strength and to prove it he got up from the bench he had been sitting on and was able to uproot it with ease and then asked the guy in shock if he’d seen what he had done. Of course the guy had seen what he had done, but it was just one of those figure of speech moments when something amazing happened. The guy said it was pretty impressive and Vinnie began to laugh again, “Yeah, ya can say tha’ again.” Vinnie had then brought out the other vial and asked the guy if he wanted to buy it from him and then he could set him up with the guy he had got his from. He wasn’t sure if the guy would go for it, but it seemed he would as he brought his wallet out and handed Vinnie two hundred dollars. Vinnie hadn’t paid quite as much for his vial, but he wasn’t about to argue, so he shrugged slightly, “Yeah tha’ll be enough, thanks.” He took the money from the guy and handed him the vial.
The guy then asked him how much he was supposed to take, Vinnie shrugged slightly, “I was told to take it in small quantities, but man I took quite a lot of it, an’ ya seen how I was. Up to yerself how much ya wanna try I guess.” Vinnie wasn’t about to tell the guy what he should do one way or the other, but at least he had told him what he had been told himself, to take it in small quantities, it was up to the guy if he did that or not. Then Vinnie realised they hadn’t even introduced themselves to each other. So without any more hesitation Vinnie decided to do just that, he held his hand out, “Vinnie Monroe by the way, pleased to meet ya.”

Jake was glad that the amount of money he gave the guy was enough for at least one vial of the stuff. He looked at the vial, holding it up to the light of the sky, wondering how it was going to feel inside him. If this other guy took a bit more than was needed, how much would it effect someone if they downed the entire vial? Jake knew he should only take a bit, just to test it out, as it might have a different effect on him. "Thanks, man."
"I think I might take the small amount at first, then might just take as much as you if it doesn't have much effect." Jake didn't want to overdo it, since he was suppose to be on good behaviour after talking to his father. A little at a time I say, Jake thought, just so that it goes unnoticed by Robert. Jake looked back down at the vial, and then looked back at the guy as he introduced himself. He took his hand to shake, "Hi Vinnie. Jake Hanniger. Nice to meet you too, man!" Jake let go of Vinnie's hand, and placed the vial into his pocket. He wanted to save the first intack of it for later, in the privacy of his own bedroom, or maybe for later at night when he might try out any sort of ability that came with the drug.
Jake looked around, and wondered if he should just go on his way again, or maybe see if Vinnie had any other information about the drug in question. Curiousity always got the better of him, and he decided to talk more about it. "So. This drug. Is there a place where it gets made or something?" Then a through crossed his mind, which kind of scared him a bit. He had no idea where it came from, or anything, but if Vinnie knew about vampires, he might know about what he was thinking about. Jake got up close to Vinnie, but not too close to invade his personal space. "Is there a place where you can help vampires by giving your blood, like they can feed for a short time?" There is question was out now. And for some reason Jake wanted to be part of all of this if it is existed.

After Vinnie had given Jake the vial and he thanked him Vinnie nodded his head slightly, “No worries, yer gonna love it, I can assure ya.” Vinnie was definitely on a high that he never wanted to come down from and yet he knew he would have to come down eventually. It meant only one thing, he would have to get some more and if the guy refused to sell him more, then he’d just have to hunt a vampire down and drain them of some of their blood, either way Vinnie would make sure he would get his kick, especially if it was going to give strength like he had now.
The guy then began to talk about how much he was going to take. It didn’t really bother Vinnie one way or the other how much he would take, all he knew was he had the best trip of his life just then. Vinnie nodded his head, “Tha’ sounds like a good plan to me.” Although he could pretty much guarantee that this guy would take more of it sooner than later. Then again what would he know, if he’d taken a smaller amount to begin with it might have still had the same affect. Vinnie then introduced himself. He smiled as Jake introduced himself and said he was pleased to meet him too. “Good to put a name to yer face.”
Jake then asked if there was a place the drug was made. Vinnie shook his head, “I dunno mate, I mean I dunno where the guy I bought it from got it, ya know?” All Vinnie knew was it was made from vampire blood, he didn’t even know if there was anything else to it, or if it was sheer vampire blood. “But I tell ya wha’, if ya like it, an’ ya wanna get yer hands on more, ya jus’ hafta contact me an’ I’ll get ya some more.” Or he could put Jake in touch with the guy Vinnie had got his supply from. He gave Jake one of his business cards from the building company he worked for. “Ya’ll find ma mobile number on there, jus’ give me a call anytime ya wanna.”
Then Jake asked Vinnie a question he wasn’t quite expecting. “Hell man ya don’ wanna be gettin’ yerself mixed up in anythin’ like tha’. They can be damn righ’ dangerous ya know, an’ the only place I know of like tha’ the humans don’ do it by choice, they’re chained up in some basement somewhere, it ain’ a nice sight to see from wha’ I been told by ma sister.” Vinnie’s eyes were almost popping out of his head at the mere idea that this guy would want to do that to himself. Let vampires feed on him.
“An’ jus’ to make ya feel better, when they’re finished with them, when they feel they’ve had as much as they like out of them until they’ve completely drained the energy and life source from them, cause they sure as hell don’ feed them or water them, they jus’ drain them of all their blood tha’s left an’ burn the bodies.” Vinnie only knew about it because of his sister Sookie working for that vampire Viktor that he didn’t really like so much. In fact he hated his sister working for him, Viktor wasn’t exactly evil per say, but he didn’t give a damn about ending a human life when he felt like it and on top of that he let that feeding ground survive, it disgusted Vinnie.

The guy acknowledged what Jake said, in regards to how much he was going to take of the vial at a time. He didn't want to push how much he took initially. If it didn't take much effect first time, Jake might just have to down more to get the effect that the other guy did only moments ago. Soon introductions were done, and Jake smiled at Vinnie, as he commented more.
"Okay," Jake said, when Vinnie said he didn't know where the drug was made. So it seemed he knew of the guy who he bought it off, and it seemed if Jake wanted more, he could contact Vinnie. "That would be great." He took the business card that Vinnie gave him, and saw that it was for a construction company. "Get much work with construction?" Jake was still thinking about his father's offer of the freelance photography work for the newspaper that he worked for. But still wasn't sure.
Jake was taken aback to what the guy said about what Jake had asked. "Um, okay then." Then Vinnie spoke about how the humans are treated, and what happens to them. "Sorry, man, didn't realise. Sorry I brought it up. Forget what I said." Jake wasn't sure if he was ready to do all that, and afterwards just get killed. He was getting his life back on track. Why would he want to end it like that.
Jake looked at his watch, seeing the time. "Okay, Vinnie, well thanks for this, and I will be sure to give you a call, once I have tried this stuff out. If it is anything like what you did before, I think I will be dealing with you again." Jake slapped Vinnie on the arm, and then started off down the way he was going before he stopped to chat with Vinnie.

{ooc - I agree - Vinnie's post will likely be short and close it, but if you do lock and archive it, can you just give me a nudge, cuz I'm not the best at remembering to mark off my threads when they're already moved lol}
After Vinnie had given Jake his card and told him he could contact him if he wanted anymore of the V he had said it would be great and then asked him if there was much work with construction. Vinnie gave Jake a smile, “Yeah, it ain’ nothin’ great, but enough to keep me goin’ all year.” It was true that the company sometimes hit dry spells when there wasn’t much to do, but when that happened Vinnie did home jobs for neighbours instead and got paid well enough for the job no matter how small it may be.
Jake had then asked if there was a place you could help vampires by letting them feed on you for a short time. Vinnie honestly couldn’t believe what he was hearing, but he told Jake about the only place he knew and he didn’t flower it up any. Jake then apologised for bringing it up, “Nah yer alrigh’ mate, but jus’ thought ya should know wha’ it’s like ya know? Yer best stayin’ away from them places they don’ bring anythin’ but trouble.” In fact if he wasn’t careful with this V he might end up in that place he had been talking about because he knew vampires hated the idea of the drug which was going around because the only way the humans got it was from taking the blood from a vampire against their will.
Vinnie then saw Jake look at his watch and said he would be sure to give him a call after he had tried it out and that he was sure he would be dealing with Vinnie again, he then gave him a slap on the arm and then began to walk away from him. “Yeah, no worries man, good to do business with ya.” Vinnie then began to chuckle a little feeling good that he had been able to get someone onto the drug, it meant all the more for him. He was going to have to pay a little visit to Lafayette again.
