It definately was the first time for that. And it seemed that she was going to have a lot of first, or just continue them on with Brendan. When Melody said maybe, maybe not, and wasnt sure yet about him seeing the tattoo. She had to hold back a laugh, when Brendan put on a sad face. "Awwww," was all she got out, before laughing out loud. Brendan then spoke, laying claim on that tattoo of hers. "Well how can I deny you from that then? I wouldn't mind you seeing it if you are the only one who does see it."
Without thinking, Melody grabbed a hold of Brendan's hand, and placed it where the tattoo started, right in the center of her lower back. She then lent in and whispered, "That's where it starts if you want to know. But you will just have to imagine where it leads to, until you get to see it for real." Melody then moved away from his ear. She then tilted her head slightly, "Do you have a pool at your place? If so I can get into a bikini, and give you a preview of some of it then? But the rest will have to wait for a later date." She was liking teasing him a lot now, and loved how the tattoo that she had, had struck up a lot of conversation over it all.
Mel listened to what Brendan said about his brother. "Well that is good. If he is anything like you, I am sure that I am going to enjoy his company very much. And I am glad that we are still best of friends after all this time. Still don't think that you have changed at all, no wonder we are getting on like a house on fire." It had amazed Melody how easy it had been to just jump in with a conversation with him. But really with all of her experience with being a news reporter, she had learned to do all the talking and not be shy. She had never been shy with Brendan, unless you count when they first met, but after that she was able to tell him anything. It seemed that times had never changed in the slightest.
After Melody had told Brendan her secret, then he went around and told her everything she wanted to hear, the emotion of it all was getting to her, and a single tear left her eye. She let out a sigh as Brendan wiped it away with his hand. He then continued to speak, and after all was said and done, Brendan trailed kisses right down to her lips, where he kissed her. Mel had no worries with this one, even with all the emotions, she kissed him back. Once they parted, Melody attempted to wipe the rest of the tears that were falling away. But then Brendan also wiped some away as well, saying that there was no need for them. Once again he used her new nickname, which she was so loving right then. "I know. But they are happy not sad tears. So they are good not bad."
Melody soon spoke, responding to everything that Brendan had said to her, finally, after she composed herself. She so had to agree with Brendan's comment about idiots being out there. Melody had unfortunately met a few of those in her life so far, which she felt wasn't very fair on her. And then when he mentioned the fact that you just don't run off when a woman mentions that they are a virgin, made her smile warmly at him. "I am just glad that I didn't scare you off. But really, I shouldn't have doubted you Brendan. You have always been so good to me, even if it was back in high school. You were my best friend, and now we are going past that title now, which I am glad that it is you I am doing that with."
Brendan then mentioned about taking it slow, and that there was plenty that they could do, besides making love. Melody was definately liking the sound of that. She couldn't wait to see what Brendan could show her. "It's not like I haven't done stuff, but when you tell someone that you have never had sex before, it just stops the good stuff from happening. So I am sure that you will be able to show me the good stuff." Just thinking about it, was making Melody kind of giddy. It seemed that the more she talked about it, the more she wanted to experiment with Brendan. But as he said, in her own time, and when she was ready. Well, he might just get that side of her going sooner than he thought, if this new Melody had any say about it. But in another way she didn't want to rush herself either, so all in good time. Mel put a hand over Brendan's, "And I can't wait for that moment to happen. But as you said, when I feel I am ready. I will definately tell you, or you will just know." She gave him a smile, then began to dig into the meal.
Once she had asked the waiter to bring more parmasen cheese for her meal, Melody heard Brendan laugh. She shook her head, "That is an understatement. I absolutely love cheese. But only certain kinds. But will try any sort at least once. And yes, when I come over to visit you, Libby and Grayson, you will have to make sure that there is some in the house. Of if we do start something more physical, it will have to be in the house for breakfast. Maybe you should have called me your little mouse or something., as they love cheese as well." With that, Melody laughed, and then the waiter came with her cheese. "Thanks." And in no time at all, a heap more of cheese was sprinkled onto her pasta. "Much better." Mel then dug her fork into the meal, and then shoved some into her mouth. All that emotion had made her hungry now.
Once the mouthful was finished again, she had to say something about the dessert. "I think we should take some dessert from here and take it back and eat it at your place? Sorry if I am being too forward, but just have this urge to see your place, as mine is okay, but I can imagine yours is pretty spectacular. And I might just have to swing by my place and pick up my bikini, so you can get that sneaky peak." Melody knew that she had to get back to the station in time to edit that video footage, but she knew in all honesty that it wasn't going to take that long to do that. "Before any of that, if that is okay, you could drop me off at the station, so that I can edit that footage from today, and it will take like half an hour at the most, then we can go."

When Brendan put on the pretend sad face when it sounded like Melody wasn’t sure about letting him see her tattoo, she commented by saying awe before she burst out laughing. Brendan couldn’t help but break into a grin then, but added that he was laying claim to the tattoo. When Melody spoke saying how could she deny him, he grinned, and then she continued by saying she wouldn’t mind him seeing it so long as he was the only one who saw it. Brendan tilted his head, and got a little serious, although he was still smiling, “Well, to be honest with ya, I ain’ gonna like it if any other guy saw it.” He then swallowed realising what he had just said and what it must mean, “Guess the thought’s makin’ me feel kinda jealous.” He looked down then after he said that, wondering how Melody would react to the fact he had all but admitted he might have some hidden feelings for her.
That was when he felt Melody take his hand and soon it was on the small of her back, she then lent in and whispered into his ear that where she had placed his hand was the start of her tattoo and he would just have to imagine where it led until he got to see it for real. How could she do that to him, the feel of his hand on her lower back was driving him insane. He slowly began to trail his hand down until it was resting on her left buttock, “Ain’ got a clue if it leads to the left or the righ’, but I reckon it pretty much ends around here.” He then gave her buttock a gentle squeeze and chuckled slightly. He then watched as she tilted her head slightly and asked if he had a pool at his place. She continued by saying she could get into a bikini and give him a preview but he’d still have to wait until a later date to see the rest. Brendan then tilted his own head to the side as he looked at her with his eyes sparkling and dimples on show, “I do have a pool as it happens, two of them, an indoor an’ outdoor one, an’ I reckon I’d like tha’ a lot.” He was just loving the idea of seeing her in a bikini, it was driving him crazy, never mind seeing her completely naked at a later date.
Brendan gave Melody a warm smile when she commented on Grayson mentioning if he was anything like him she would enjoy his company very much. Well it was true that he and Grayson were alike in the respect they both had longish shaggy hair, they both had dimples and a wonderful smile and eyes, but their personalities were slightly different, although Gray wasn’t a bad guy by any stretch, he was decent enough. “Well, he mus’ be great, cause Libby don’ seem able to get enough of him bein’ around.” Brendan chuckled as he thought about that. It was almost as if his daughter had a slightly crush on her Uncle, which was kind of worrying and yet funny at the same time. “I can imagine he’ll have plenty to say abou’ ya, he’s got an eye fer the ladies as it happens, a bit like I used to be maself back in the day.” Melody then went on to say that he hadn’t changed much and that probably explained why they were getting on like a house on fire. Brendan chuckled, “Yeah, guess I ain’ changed much, apart from I don’ use women anymore.” He figured he didn’t actually have to say that about not using women as much anymore, but couldn’t help but say it, as it was probably the one main thing that had changed about him.
Once Melody had told Brendan her secret, which hadn’t really bothered him in the slightest, he had seen the tears, and told her there was no need for them as he wiped them away. He could only smile warmly when she told him they were happy and not sad tears, meaning they were good and not bad. He rolled his eyes and then chuckled, “Alrigh’ I guess I can let ya away with them then.” He was so happy Melody was able to tell him what she had told him, because it was quite something to admit for a female, but it really made Brendan respect her all the more and now Brendan was pretty sure that he didn’t just love her as a friend, he was in love with her as so much more than a friend. When Brendan had told her that you don’t go running off on your woman when she admits she’s a virgin, he saw that warm smile of hers and he couldn’t do anything but smile warmly back at her. She then told him she was glad she hadn’t scared him off but she should never have doubted him and how they were best friends at school and how he had always looked out for her and now they were going to move on from friends and she was glad he was the one she was going to do it with.
“Ya’d never have scared me off sweetheart, I ain’ like tha’ an’ to be honest with ya, am sure glad am the one ya feel ya wanna do all tha’ with. I know tha’ I’ll hopefully make it the best experience fer ya.” Brendan wasn’t just saying that either, he knew he would pull out all the stops for her when she felt the time was ready. In fact the ideas which were running through his head, he had never even thought about with Stacey or any of his other women, so he hoped she would be happy about what he was thinking about doing. Brendan had then told her they would take things slow and there was plenty they could do without the act itself. Melody then said it wasn’t that she hadn’t done some stuff she had, but when she had told them she hadn’t had sex before it stopped anything else from happening, but she was sure he would show her the good stuff. Brendan smiled at her, “Well, I’ll do ma best fer ya, tha’ I can promise ya.” He left it at that, because he didn’t want to sound too big headed, yeah he had been with a few women and yeah he probably knew some stuff, but he hated coming across as if he knew everything.
Melody put her hand over one of Brendan’s and then said she couldn’t wait for that moment to happen when she was ready and she would definitely tell him when she was, or he would just know. Brendan smiled at her warmly, “Am glad ya’ll tell me when yer ready, cause I ain’ gonna push ya as I said afore, an’ maybe I’ll know, but maybe I still probably wouldn’ initiate anythin’ until ya told me to.” He cared about Melody that much he wanted her and needed her to know that he wasn’t going to take her for granted. Brendan then just looked at her, his heart was beating so hard right now he felt it was going to burst out of his chest, there were so many feelings going through him right at that point and since he was going to be the one she was going to lose her virginity to, he thought he might as well tell her how he was feeling.
Yes, he had said he wasn’t going to do this again, but technically it wasn’t at first sight, and they hadn’t only just met, maybe they had after a few years, but they knew each other inside and out. He then gently took the hand which was over his and held it, “I love ya Melody Webb, I always have, jus’ never realised, or maybe I did, but thought it was only as a friend, but it ain’, it’s much deeper than tha’. The last hour we’ve spent has told me tha’ much, am in love with ya, think I always have been.” He wasn’t sure how Melody would react to that, but he didn’t think she would run out on him, and it was pretty obvious to him, Melody had feelings for him too.
They then began to eat their meals which had arrived, and Brendan had to admit that he was enjoying his meal as he usually did when he came to this place, although he hadn’t been for quite a while now. He had to chuckle when he heard Melody ask for more cheese for her meal, and naturally he had commented on making sure he had enough in for when she might visit. She went on to say that if they did get more physical he’d have to make sure there was cheese for breakfast as well. He shook his head and laughed, more so at the little mouse comment than anything else. “I don’ see ya as a little mouse despite the love of cheese. An’ I guess ya best let me know wha’ yer favourite kind is then, cause I have a pretty good feelin’ ya migh’ jus’ be spendin’ quite a bit of time at ma place soon.” He winked at her and chuckled, at least he was hoping that would be the case, even if it was just to sit and snuggle up together on the sofa.
After the waiter had arrived with more cheese for Melody she began to talk again suggesting they get some dessert from the restaurant and take it back to his place. Well he didn’t have a problem with that, he was about to answer when she continued saying she was sorry if she was being forward but she wanted to see his place as hers wasn’t that great and she imagined his was spectacular, but she would also have to swing by her place and get her bikini. “Sounds like a plan to me Butterfly, we can do tha’ yeah.” He decided to shorten the nickname to just Butterfly when he wasn’t saying 'my' before it, because Little Butterfly on its own without the ‘my’ sounded a bit silly.
Melody then asked if he could drop her off at the station first so she could get the editing of the footage done as it wouldn’t take long. “Yeah I can do tha’ fer ya. Hafta go collect ma jeep from the car park first mind ya, but yeah, we can do tha’, tha’ ain’ a problem.” Brendan was really looking forward to spending more time with Melody where they wouldn’t be in such a public place, not that anything was going to happen the minute they got back to his house, because even if Melody wasn’t a virgin, he wouldn’t have suggested they did anything quite like that on the first day of a new relationship, it just wasn’t in his nature to be that way. Brendan went back to his meal, as he was now thinking that the sooner they finished their meals, the sooner he could get their dessert ordered to take-away and then get back to his place after he had dropped her off at the station.

Melody raised her eyebrows only slightly, when Brendan made that point in saying that he wasn't going to like it if any other guy saw her tattoo. Then he added, basically saying that that the thought of another guy seeing it was making him feel kind of jealous. Well, thought Melody, never had that sort of impression on a guy before, must be serious feelings that Brendan is feeling. But that was the moment when Mel had to take his hand, and put it at her lower back, so he had a rough idea of where it started. She had to hold back a low moan, as Brendan trailed his hand down to the left side of her bum, and then commented. Melody again had to hold back anything that she was feeling still, as he gave it a gentle squeeze. That move almost made her lower body move towards his, but she had to stop herself. "Well, Mr. Harris. You will just have to wait."
After Melody had said that she could get into a bikini and give him a preview at least, but would have to wait for a later date to see the rest, she had to smile at his reaction. "Good. That's settle then. When I visit for the first time, I will have to remember to pack my bikini and towel, knowing that I will be having a dip in your pool. Though it will depends on if there are others home, which will depend on what we get up to." Melody was being so cheeky now, it was just pouring out of her.
Melody nodded, and smiled, as Brendan responded to her comment about Grayson. She could remember how he used to be, even with his girlfriend, Faith. He definately had his way with the opposite sex. Though to Mel, he did seem a bit more settled, though still had a way with words. After she made the comment that he hadn't changed much, Brendan agreed, though soon told her the bit that had changed. "Well, I can see that you have grown up, and can just sense that you would treat anyone the way you would want to be treated. But you never did give everyone a hard time, even back in high school. Unless you count the bullies." Mel gave him a warm smile, still remembering how he had helped her that day.
After Melody had confirmed that the tears were good, not bad, she shook her head when Brendan rolled his eyes, saying that it was alright, and he would let her away with them then. "Okay. I am not normally like this, but with everything that you said, it was just fueling the emotions, that normally don't get to me that much." She gave him a small smile then, and let out a bit of a sigh.
After she said that she was glad she didn't scare him off, Brendan said that she would never scare him off, as he wasn't like that. Melody bit on her bottom lip slightly, as Brendan said that he was glad that he was the one she felt she wanted to do it all with. She continued to listen to the rest of what Brendan said to her, and smiled a bit. "I will have to keep you to that Brendan Harris." He then continued on to say that he would do the best for her, that he would promise her. "Another thing that I will hold you to." The next few things that Brendan said, Melody liked all the more. Maybe this was the reason she hadn't become intimate with any other male, up until this moment. Maybe she was waiting for the moment when she met up with Brendan again. Maybe he was the one that she had been waiting for all this time.
Brendan then took the hand of hers, that had been resting on his own, and then told her he loved her. All Melody could do was just stare at him, with a slight shocked look on her face. She was kind of shocked at what he said, and what he said after that as well. But maybe she wasn't fully shocked. She had thought about him in that kind of way during the past hour that they had been together. Melody couldn't move her hand, or her body to do or say anything at all. She maybe was also feeling that same way, so she should reply now, or she might be sitting like this while the food got cold, when it came. "I, um... not sure what to say Brendan." Mel looked down at their hands together, and then looked at Brendan, hopefully not looking how she had been. "I think I am having feelings towards you as well Bren." A smile then spread across her face, looking at his face, that gorgeous face of his. There it was out, she was definately having strong feelings towards her best friend in the whole wide world.
After Melody had asked for the extra cheese, and had made the comments on the fact that she loved it so much, she had to laugh, trying not to choke on her pasta. "Is that right Bren? Well then, you might just have to stack up on the stuff then. I will have to make a list of what cheese's I like." Mel smiled at him, and shook her head as she continued to eat her meal. It sounded nice in her head, to just stay and have meals with him. She might have to give him a few of her recipes that she has that involves cheese, and a lot of it. It was a wonder she wasn't bigger because of it.
When Brendan said that it sounded like a plan, in regards to the dessert idea. "Very good." Mel had then told Brendan what she had to do before they could do anything at his place. She nodded when he said that he would have to go and collect his jeep. "Oh that's right. Forgot that we walked here. Silly me." Melody smiled, shaking her head. "Well then we can have a nice stroll back to it then, and then go and do the other stuff that I have to do then." Mel then went back to eating her pasta, which was quite good. She also found herself eating it quite fast, which she put to knowing that dessert was soon to follow, in maybe an hours time.

Brendan couldn’t believe Melody had taken his hand and placed it in her lower back telling him that was where the start of the tattoo was. As his hand lingered there, he so wanted to see where it finished, but had taken a rough guess, as he trailed his hand down and landed it in the middle of her left buttock commenting that was roughly where he thought it would end, even if he didn’t know if it were to the left or the right. He had then squeezed it gently and chuckled, waiting on Melody to respond, she wasn’t for giving anything away, keeping a mystery still. She was stirring things in him which hadn’t been stirred for a very long time. “Ya know, tha’s wha’ I call bad business, teasin’ a man like tha’, hell I used to do it to women all the time, realised how bad it was when women started teasin’ me back.” He shook his head, and looked at her with his head tilted and grinned, “Jus’ as well we’re friends afore anythin’ else, yer jus’ abou’ gettin’ away with it.” Who would have thought the mentioning of a tattoo would bring out such conversation between them? As the conversation went into Melody’s pending visit, Brendan realised he couldn’t wait for that to happen, to show her off to Libby and Grayson. He had a feeling what Grayson might say to him privately at first, the whole, ‘there ya go jumpin’ inta another relationship, when ya ever gonna learn?’ speech, but Brendan didn’t care. It didn’t matter how often he tried to stop himself from falling deep all the time, it just didn’t work, it was part of who he was, and he was giving up trying to change because it was pretty obvious after Stacey and Olivia and now Melody, that some things just never change. At least he had known Melody for a long time, but then he couldn’t use that one on Grayson, because he would then just say to him, ‘yeah, an’ wasn’ Olivia an old school friend an’ all?’ So, in the end, it really wouldn’t matter what way he approached it with Grayson, he would still get the whole speech. Realising he had lost himself in his thoughts and that Melody was speaking to him again, he sighed gently and smiled at her, “Sorry sweetheart, kinda got maself lost in some thoughts. Yeah ya’ll hafta remember an’ pack yer bikini, cause I ain’ waitin’ much longer fer tha’ preview.” He chuckled and ran his hand through his hair and then Melody continued making Brendan raise his eyebrow. “Is tha’ righ’ now? An’ jus’ wha’ are ya sayin’ Melody Webb? Ya think am the kinda guy to fool around in a pool?” He burst out laughing then, the sexual banter going on between them at the moment was turning Brendan on more than he ever thought possible and yet knowing that nothing would happen between them for at least two weeks, because that was just the way Brendan was. He never liked to rush those things, and he always maintained it should be with someone you love. He had truly loved Faith when they had sex at the prom, but it still wasn’t the same, he knew it could have been so much better, really, what was so exciting about having sex in the school stables? “The only kinda foolin’ around I do in a pool, is splash people, an’ maybe tickle them, sometimes I migh’ jus’ kiss them, but tha’ depends on who’s in the pool with me, cause it ain’ gonna be righ’ fer me to kiss Libby, she’s ma daughter.” Brendan laughed out loud then, he really was being terrible with his dirty mind and humour right then. When Brendan had told Melody that he and Grayson were quite alike, apart from Brendan had grown up and didn’t use women as much as he used to, he had to smile at her response. “Well, the way I see it Melody, there ain’ no need fer givin’ folks a hard time unless they deserve it an’ those little...” He trailed off, he knew what Grayson would have called them, but Brendan never really swore, unless you counted the word damn and occasionally using the Lord’s name in vain. “...bullies, well they deserved it, ya jus’ don’ go pickin’ on girls when yer a guy, it ain’ righ’ am tellin’ ya.” If he ever found out Libby was getting picked on at school by guys then god help them and the school because nobody hurts Brendan’s friends and family, he would tear shreds off of them. When Melody went into an explanation about the tears, saying she wasn’t normally like that, Brendan took both her hands and shook his head, “Yer alrigh’ Melody, I only told ya the truth, jus’ hope the only time I ever do make ya cry is over somethin’ good an’ nothin’ bad, cause I don’ think I could live with maself if I made ya cry over somethin’ bad.” He meant that as well, it wasn’t often Brendan made anybody cry, the first time was when he told Faith it wasn’t working out for them anymore, she had cried but understood, they had been fighting a lot by that point, although she was already pregnant with Libby by then and he hadn’t known and she never told him, then there was Megan, although he hadn’t physically seen her cry he was pretty sure she had, when he broke up with her because of family pressure. The only other person he had made cry and it was he himself and no intervening by another party and that was Stacey, but then, finding out the baby she was carrying wasn’t his, made Brendan cry as well, so really they had made each other cry. As Brendan told Melody that he would hopefully make it the best experience for her and he would do his best with her Melody had said she would hold him to it, he just gave her a warm smile, “Well, make sure ya do hold me to it, I promise I won’ ever let ya down Melody.” Oh Brendan had his nicknames sure, but whenever he was being serious or wanted something to come over so they knew he meant it, he always said the person’s proper name, like he did with Melody then. This part of their conversation was so serious and heartfelt, he needed her to know he was meaning every word and being completely serious. Brendan then got completely serious and decided to just put it out there about how he was feeling, basically wearing his heart on his sleeve once more. He said it hoping he wouldn’t regret it, but the minute Melody began to talk in her slightly broken speech his face fell as did his heart, as for a few seconds it felt like he had made the wrong choice in telling her. “Maybe I shouldn’a said anythin’, it’s too soon, am sorry Melody.” He then looked down at their hands together, and she hadn’t removed her hand, so he looked back up at her again slowly, and that’s when she spoke some more admitting that she might be having feelings toward him as well. That smile which soon appeared on her face just made her light up like always, and Brendan couldn’t contain himself, as he began to grin at her. “Jeez Butterfly, thought I had jus’ said the thing tha’ was gonna make ya fly outta ma life forever, ya’ve no idea how good it feels to hear ya say wha’ ya jus’ said.” Brendan gave her hand a slight squeeze then. When Melody said she would have to write up a list of what cheeses she liked, he grinned at her, “Yeah, make sure ya do, I don’ wanna be runnin’ out of the stuff whenever ya visit.” Don’ wanna be runnin’ outta the stuff when yer livin’ with me either, he thought to himself, glad that it had indeed remained a thought, because telling her he was in love with her was enough of a shock for her for the day, mentioning about living together might just be enough to send her running for the hills, especially given what she had just revealed to him about herself earlier. As they both continued to eat their meals, a little Chinese woman came into the restaurant, Brendan knew her well; she was always coming in and selling chocolates, charms or roses. The owner of the restaurant was so kind to the lady that even if she never got any sales they always gave her an impressive tip. She soon came toward Brendan and Melody, and even though Brendan hadn’t always bought something from the woman he always gave her money anyway. “Bren’an ‘Arris, you have nice lady with you, you want for nice lady?” She lifted up a small bouquet of a dozen red roses, not like the massive bouquets you get in shops, just twelve roses bound together with a red velvet ribbon. Brendan smiled at her, “Miss Li.” He bowed his head slightly, and then looked at Melody and then back at Miss Li, “Well don’ mind if I do.” The woman then handed him over a bouquet of the roses and Brendan didn’t even ask how much they cost, he just handed over a fifty dollar bill, “Keep the change Miss Li.” She looked at him and bowed, and smiled, “Fank you, you both be happy together, Miss Li know this.” She then pointed to her heart, and bowed again before leaving the both of them to finish their meals. Brendan then handed over the bouquet of roses to Melody. “Fer ma Little Butterfly, guess ya could make tha’ surprise number three, or is it four now? Kinda losin’ count already.” He winked at her, hoping she would love the roses, this was just going to be the start of the lavish gifts he would buy for Melody, for some reason, something deep down inside was telling him Melody was definitely the one, and there would be nobody else, and as he looked at Melody he had to agree with his thoughts. After Brendan told Melody he would have to collect his jeep to take her to the station, she had said she had forgotten they had walked to the restaurant. Not that they had walked very far. “Tha’s alright Butterfly, an’ it will be nice to have the stroll back. So, if yer gonna get this editin’ done afore ya come back to ma place, does tha’ mean ya’ll be able to stay fer the evenin’, or will ya still hafta report on the news from the news desk later? Jus’ kinda curious tha’s all.” Basically he was wanting to know if he would have to drive her back to the station, or if she wanted to have one of the many spare bedrooms to stay the night, or, if she even wanted to just lay beside him, although if she opted for that move, he’d have to throw on a pair of boxers, seeing as he’s used to sleeping in the nude. Soon Brendan had finished his meal, and he waved his hand for the waiter, who was beside them within a few seconds. “Can I have the bill please, we’re gettin’ ready to go soon, also, and we’d like dessert in take-away, I’ll have a triple berry cheesecake an’...” He turned to look at Melody with a smile, “Wha’ would ya like Melody?” When she had replied, the waiter nodded his head, and disappeared. He was back within a few minutes, with a box which contained their desserts and Brendan’s change, which he just gave back to the waiter with a smile. The waiter thanked him and then they were alone. Brendan stood up and immediately held his hand out for Melody to take. “Let’s go then ma Little Butterfly.” He then slowly led them out of the restaurant and back in the general direction of where his jeep was parked. “It shouldn’ take us as long to get to the car park, ma jeep’s parked in one jus’ around tha’ corner there, I had a bit of a walk to get to the shops as always.” The car park which he was referring to was about two minutes away from the restaurant and they would get there soon. As they walked hand in hand, Brendan kept taking side glances at Melody finding it hard to believe that their friendship had taken a different turning. Never in all his time at school did he think that twelve years down the line he and the young girl he’d saved from the bullies would be starting to date. {ooc - 2199 words !!! and you can get them to the jeep and to the station from that point if you like in your post?}

Melody could only giggle, when Brendan mention about how it was bad business to tease a man like that. She was not normally like that, but Brendan was just bringing it out in her, and in some ways she was liking this side of herself. He then spoke about then letting her get away with it, because they were friends before anything else. "Well I am glad that I can get away with anything with you." Yes, he was definately doing something to her, and she was loving every minute of it.
After that, Mel mentioned about bringing her bikini, which led to Brendan saying that she would have to bring it, because he wasn't going to wait much long for the preview. She let out a snicker, knowing that she would have to show him sooner then later, but the secret she was holding was making her wonder if she was ready for all this teasing and going on with Brendan. It was definately something to bring up. But it just came out of her, saying that it depended on who was home, which would depend on what they got up to in the pool. Brendan, being Brendan, of cause commented on that. She so had to answer his first part. "Yes, I can see you fooling around in the pool. Though only the on top of the clothes stuff of cause." There, she was making it clear that that was all that would happen for the time being in the pool.
He then mentioned the type of fooling around he did in the pool, and Melody laughed, rolling her eyes. "Well, that could be fun too. Some tickling might be in order, and some kissing." She then lent in, and kissed him on the cheek. Melody soon realised that he smelt rather good then, just being close to his neck she had taken in his scent, and it was wonderful. "And yes, I think it would be kind of weird if you were treating your daughter in that way. I might have to question it also."
Melody had to smile at his talk of the bullies that had picked up on her. "Yes, and I am glad that you were the one that came to my rescue." Once again, Melody gave one of Brendan's arm a big squeeze. "And yes, us females sometimes do need to have someone who can protect us from the big bad bullies, or the big bad men in the world." She looked up at him, and laughed out loud. Brendan wad definately her night in shining armour.
Mel gave him a warm smile through the tears, when he said that he said that he hoped the only time that he would make her cry was when it was over something good and not bad. "Well I can seriously seeing it be that way Brendan. You have never done anything bad to me when we were in high school, and I don't think you could do anything bad now, in all honesty." Melody just had this feeling, that was all, and she hoped that he would be there to protect her, like in high school, if anything bad ever happened to her. "And I hope that I can be there for you as well if you ever need me."
Melody hadn't meant to stumble over her words, when Brendan told her that he loved her, but she had. She heard him say that maybe he shouldn't have said anything, then apologised. Mel had looked down at their hands that were together. "You don't need to be sorry, Bren." Then she spoke of her own feelings towards him. She had begun to smile, after she admitted them, and then saw that grin of Brendan's, and had to giggle at what he said. "Well I am not one of those women who have commitment issues, so wouldn't just fly out your life, as you just said. That feeling of his hand squeezing her own, made her get her other hand, and place it on top. "I don't think I could ever leave you, Bren. Not after all that you have said to me, after what I told you." Melody just had a feeling that Brendan might be finally the one for her, after all this time.
Melody had to laugh, after she said she would have to write out that list of cheese's she liked. "I might have to write the list then this afternoon, as I might visit sooner than you think." Well she would be visiting in the afternoon, so hopefully he had some in the house. They continued to eat, when a woman came over to their table. Melody saw what she was selling, and wondered if Brendan would buy anything for her. Maybe, maybe not, thought Melody, as she smiled at the woman. The woman spoke to Brendan, and Melody just sat and occassionally looked at Brendan and the woman.
The woman showed Brendan a small bouquet of red roses, basically asking if he wanted them for the 'nice lady'. Mel looked up and saw that smile of Brendan's, and knew what was coming next. He handed over the fifty dollar note, which let to Melody raising her eyebrows, when he told the woman to keep the change. Mel then maybe thought that they were close to that, and was just offering a generous tip, which was fine in her book. Once the woman left, thanking Brendan, Melody smiled at Brendan, as he gave her the flowers. She took them, and instantly put them close to her face, to take in the scent. "They are gorgeous Brendan, thank you. They smell fantastic as well, but not as fantastic as you smelt before." Whoops, she thought, that was meant to be kept in my head. Oh well. "And it might be four, can't remember either Bren." Melody smiled, then giggled, taking in the scent of them again.
She listened to what Brendan said, about the rest of the afternoon, and she decided to give him the answer. "Well, I do still have to report the news tonight. But it is only for half an hour, so I will be able to come back to have dinner, if that is okay? So I can stay with you for a couple of hours, but have to be there beforehand, for hair and make up, so maybe I will have to be away from you for just over an hour." There were back up people who could take her place, and really she rarely ever took the night off, but she would hate to let her viewers and fans down.
Melody had then finished her meal, which was beautiful, and wondered if they would come here again. She might just have to make some sutle hints to Brendan about that one. That thought made her smile to herself. Brendan had then waved the waiter over, and asked about the bill and about the dessert, wanting to take it away with them. He ordered what he wanted, and then he turned to Mel, asking what she wanted. "I will have the french vanilla cheesecake please." Once the waiter left, she smiled at Brendan, "I know it is not real cheese in it, but it is creamed cheese at least." What was it with cheese and Melody? Who know. All she knew was that she had loved it ever since she could remember.
The waiter came back with their desserts, which she couldn't wait to tuck into. Once the waiter left, after Melody also thanked him, Brendan held his hand out for her to take, which she did, and she smiled when he called her 'ma Little Butterfly'. She was really going to love being called that now. "Yes, let's go Bren." Melody then followed Brendan, hand in hand outside, and in the direction of Brendan's jeep. Brendan commented about how it wasn't going to take them long to get to the car park, as it was only around the corner. "Okay." Mel then took in the short walk, loving how now her best friend was going to be the one she would love more than any other she had been with.
They soon got to the jeep, and Mel got into the passenger side. They were soon off in the direction of the television station, and Melody started to get out of the jeep. "Did you want to stay for the half hour I will be here? Or did you want to come back later? Up to you, but I wouldn't mind the company." Melody waited to hear Brendan's reponse, and looking at her watch, there was still going to be plenty of time for that dip in the pool before she would have to come back to the station.

Brendan had to chuckle when Melody said she was glad she could get with anything with him, he raised an eyebrow and tilted his head to look at her, “An’ ya probably would get away with jus’ abou’ anythin’, not everythin’ mind, depends on wha’ ya’d done ya know?” He was messing around with her when he said that, and given how well Melody knew him, she would know he was messing around by saying that. In honesty, in all the times he knew Melody he couldn’t think of one single time when they had bad words between them, or had a fight, they were as close as friends could get without being in a loving relationship, but now that might change, and Brendan was happy with that, he was simply glowing on the inside, and looking at her, he was pretty sure he had got it right this time. He had to make a mental note of that, it could be good for a song at some point.
Brendan pretended he couldn’t believe Melody when she spoke of him possibly fooling around in the pool, he had then asked her if she thought he was that kind but laughing right after, so when she said that she could see him being that type, but on top of the clothes only, he chuckled, “Well, maybe there migh’ be a bit of foolin’ around.” He winked at her, and then went on to say what kind of fooling around in a pool he usually did. He grinned when Melody said that might be fun also, adding that some tickling might in order and some kissing. He liked that idea, and a slow deep smile spread across his face, Melody then leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. “Well, I definitely like the sound of the ticklin’ an’ the kissin’, am swayin’ more toward the kissin’ mind.” He then stopped walking and turned her to face him, and he gave her another kiss on the lips, another soft but lingering one. He then pulled away, “Yeah, definitely swayin’ toward the kissin’ thing.” Melody then made a comment about what he said in regards to Libby, “Yeah, well ain’ no funny business, she gets love an’ affection alrigh’, but only the kind suitable fer her.” He laughed some more, he was definitely enjoying this conversation with Melody and he was now glad they had both met up with each other again.
When Brendan spoke more about the bullies who had picked on Melody, she mentioned that she was glad he was the one who came to her rescue and then gave his arm a squeeze. She then went on to say that sometimes females did need someone to help protect them from the big bad bullies or big bad men in the world. Brendan looked down at her with a warm smile, “Well, guess tha’s gonna be ma job again, cause I’ll make sure nobody ever hurts ya, I’ll protect ya fer an eternity Melody.” Brendan meant every word of that, he hadn’t been able to do much of it when they had gone their separate ways, but now they had found each other again, he felt he was able to step right back into that role almost without thinking about it.
After Brendan said he hoped that if he ever made her cry they would be good and not bad tears, he had to smile deeply when she said she could seriously see it being that way as he had never done anything bad to her and couldn’t see him doing anything bad now. Brendan put his hand on her face, and gently stroked her cheek with his thumb, “Yer righ’, I could never hurt ya Melody, yer jus’ too god damned special to me.” Melody then went on to say that she hoped she could be there for him if he ever needed her. “Am sure ya would be ma Little Butterfly.” But in all honesty, he hoped that there would never be a situation where he would need support from her, because he could imagine the only time that would happen was if any of his family members were to become ill, and he couldn’t think like that.
When Brendan had declared his true feelings for Melody and she had stumbled over her words, he had this feeling he had said the wrong thing and apologised, but then she spoke telling him he didn’t have to be sorry, so he looked at her again with a weak smile on his face until he heard her tell him about her own feelings, and the weak smile spread into a bigger one. He had to smile even more when Melody said that she wasn’t the type to have commitment issues and wouldn’t just fly out of his life. “Well tha’s real good to hear Melody.” Then she went on to say she didn’t think she could leave him after what he said to her when she told him her secret. He gave her another warm smile, and took her hand in his own and squeezed it gently. “I’m glad to hear tha’ Melody, cause now ya’ve came back inta ma life, I don’ reckon I could watch ya walk back outta it.” Brendan was probably the happiest he had been in a long time again, probably since the day Libby came into his life. Sure he had happy moments with Stacey and Olivia, but they were his past, Libby and now Melody were his future.
When Melody mentioned about writing out the list that afternoon as she might be visiting sooner than he thought, Brendan grinned and nodded his head, “Well the sooner I get to know, the better, and then I can start stockin’ up ya know?” He liked cheese himself, but he was more of a basic cheddar guy, and he liked the Philadelphia spreading one as well, but that was about it, but he’d stock up on anything Melody wrote down she liked, because when she was visiting him, he would want her to feel at home as much as possible. Soon after that, Miss Li had came into the restaurant and made her way to Brendan speaking to him, and asking if he wanted a bouquet of the roses for his nice lady. Brendan naturally agreed and did just that, giving the woman a fifty dollar bill and telling her to keep the change, the roses had only cost twenty-five dollars, so he had basically paid for the price of two but only took one. Brendan was such a generous soul, he had the money, so he figured why not, especially when others weren’t as well off as he was. He had then handed them over to Melody.
He watched with eyes sparkling and a huge smile on his face as Melody held the roses close to her face and took in their scent, she than thanked him, saying they were gorgeous and they smelled fantastic, but not as good as he did before. Brendan raised his eyebrow then, and looked at her with his fringe falling over his eyes, “Is tha’ righ’? Tha’ mus’ be ma Cool Water by Davidoff, it’s ma favourite scent, so glad ya like it. An’ yer welcome fer the roses, and yer righ’, they are gorgeous, but not as gorgeous as yerself.” Well if she was going to compliment him on his scent being better than the roses, then he had to say something similar. Brendan had then commented on it being surprise number three or four, but had lost count now. Melody commented that it might be four but she couldn’t remember either. Brendan chuckled, “Well, best we don’ try to keep count then, I got a lot to make up fer, and chances are we’d never be able to keep a count of all them surprises.” Brendan joined in with Melody’s laughter then.
Brendan had then asked if she could spend the full afternoon and evening at his place or did she still have to report the news, he smiled and nodded his head when she replied, as he had a feeling she might still have to report on the news. She mentioned it was only for half an hour and she could come back and have dinner at his place if that would be alright. “Tha’s alrigh’ sweetheart, an’ I could take ya to the station when ya need to be there an’ wait fer ya to finish an’ bring ya back to ma place, cause Gray will be there to look after Libby.” Brendan just realised that he wanted to spend as much time with Melody as he possibly could, which was why he offered to take her to the station and bring her back to his place after.
They soon both finished their meals, and Brendan asked for the bill and to get dessert in take-away, after asking what Melody wanted. He had to chuckle at her request, and then some more when she commented that she knew it wasn’t real cheese but it was creamed at least. “Well, gotta admit I love cheesecake an’ all.” Soon they had their dessert in a take-away box and Brendan stood up holding his hand out for Melody to take, mentioning for them to go, and calling her his Little Butterfly again. Soon they were back at his jeep and on their way to the station where Melody had to edit her footage. Once they had arrived, Melody asked if he wanted wait with her or come back. Well since he was wanting to spend as much time with her as possible, he grinned, “I can wait fer ya, I don’ think I wanna leave ya fer long jus’ now, now tha’ I jus’ got ya back inta ma life again.” He turned the engine off, and got out of the jeep and once Melody was out, he locked the doors. “Lead the way hot news reporter.” He chuckled and winked at her, as he took her hand and followed Melody to wherever she had to go to do what she had to do.

All Melody could do was roll her eyes and shake her head, with her face smirking a bit. So it seemed that she might get away with almost anything with Brendan. But really, Mel hadn't done a lot of 'bad' things in her life, unless you counted the whole 'drinking then getting a tattoo' situation. Other than that, nothing popped into her mind. She was far from a goody-two-shoes, but she wasn't that much of a rebel either. Melody just couldn't stop grinning at Brendan, as they continued to speak about what might happen in his pool. She just couldn't believe that she was acting like this, but he was bringing out her cheeky side, that was for sure. After she kissed him on the neck, he commented that he liked the sound of the tickling and the kissing, but was leaning towards kissing. Brendan stopped walking, which made Melody stop also, and he kissed her softly. She kissed him back, and loved how his lips felt on her own, like they were meant for her, and her alone. After Brendan parted, saying that he was definately heading towards the kissing thing, Melody licked her lips, bringing them in for a second. She tilted her head slightly, just looking at Brendan. "Good. At least we are on the same page then." Melody liked the idea of Brendan having the job of protecting her. She blinked slowly at Brendan, and gave him a warm smile. "Good. Cause no one will be able to fill the position. And eternity is a long time, so I can see you sticking it out." Melody snickered, looking down at the ground, and then looked up at Brendan, and then cuddled into him as they continued to walk. Melody hadn't been in that many relationships, but just felt that this time it was going to last a long time. She knew Brendan better than she knew herself sometimes, and knew that this time she would be more attentive and more upfront, what with him knowing everything about her already, and now knowing her secret. Melody had told him that she couldn't leave him now, after all that he had said to her, which led to him taking her hand, and commenting. She put her other hand over his, giving it a gentle squeeze, and gave him a warm smile. Yes, this was one relationship she was going to enjoy immensely. After Brendan commented on stocking up on the cheese's she likes, she grinned. "Okay. Might have to do that while I do the editing of that news piece." It felt good for her to be able to do this sort of thing with someone she knew and now loved. The other guys had never took into consideration some of her likes, and even her dislikes, only thinking about themselves. Dates were mostly disasterous, always going to some truck thing that they loved, but nothing what she liked at all. Melody hadn't meant to blurt out that he smelt better than the roses. But it seemed that Brendan wasn't going to let it go, and he commented about what it was, and then complimented her again. Mel flicked her hair, and smirked. "Well I do what I can to look like this." She then burst out laughing, putting her hand over her mouth to try and contain it. Once Mel was calm, she put the roses beside her on the table. When it came time for figuring out how many surprises he had given her, they both couldn't figure it out, but Brendan then added that it was best not to try and keep count. "Good idea. I would be continually counting, thinking of nothing else. And I want to think of other things." She then looked at him seductively, "And I want to think of you," adding a smile to the end of the sentence. After Mel said that she had to infact read the news, Brendan replied. "Sounds good. But as I said will have to be there about half an hour beforehand for hair and make up." Melody couldn't wait to get back to his place, and see it, and see him. She then began to have this feeling that she was going to miss him each time she wasn't with him. But she then shook her head. That was silly. They had been apart for what, twelve years, and she never felt that way. Though, really, both their feelings had only just emerged, so this was what she was going to feel from now on. Once they finished their meals, and received their desserts, they were off, walking hand in hand towards Brendan's jeep. They soon arrived at the television station, and Melody had asked him if he wanted to come in and or come back to get her. She was glad for his reply, still remembering her feelings before. "Okay then. Bring the desserts, you can put them in the fridge. I would rather eat them at your place then here." Melody smiled at Brendan, as he got out, and locked up. She shook her head, smirking at what he said to her, and then grabbed a hold of his hand. Melody lead him into the building, heading towards the editing rooms towards the back. "So you think I am hot? There might be a few viewers who might just have to fight you for that title. You should read my fan mail." She laughed then, and led them into the editing room, where her camerman was already waiting. **** 1/2 an hour later **** "Finally," Melody exclaimed, glad that the footage they used worked out, and ended up being about a minute and a half of news that would be shown on tonights six o'clock news. She turned to Phil. "Okay. Just take that to the producers, and tell them that it's the supermarket story. It's all done." Melody gave him a smile, and then watched Phil leave. She instantly got up, and went over to where Brendan was sitting, and sat on his lap, wrapping her arms around him. "So, we have about three hours to do whatever you want. But I know we need to have that dessert, so we can start with that at your place. If that is okay?" She then rememebered the whole thing about stopping in and getting her bikini. "Do we have time for that swim? If so, a quick stop to my apartment would be good too." Melody began to walk her fingers up his shirt. "I want to give you that preview." With that, she got up, giggling, and grabbed her bag, and lead him outside again. {ooc - you and your promotion of the Cool Water scent Mands lol}

{ooc - well it's a nice scent I'd wear it as a perfume if I could afford to buy it - plus Josh Holloway does advertise it =P} After Brendan had said he was leaning more toward kissing in the pool and stopped to kiss Melody, he sighed gently as Melody kissed him back. He would never have thought that he and the girl he had protected like a kid sister twelve years ago would be the woman he should bump into today and be kissing like this. So it was pretty obvious the feelings of love he had for Melody back then ran much deeper than just have of a protective older sibling. Brendan then pulled away from the kiss and said that he was definitely leaning toward the kissing thing, he watched as Melody tilted her head to look at him and then spoke saying good and how they were on the same page. Brendan raised both his eyebrows a couple of times with his eyes twinkling and smiled at her as he winked. “Tha’s real good to know.” He replied to her comment. When Brendan commented that he guessed it was his job to protect her again and he would for an eternity, he grinned at her response. “Damn righ’ eternity is a long time, it’s forever, an yer righ’ I will be stickin’ it out, I ain’ goin’ nowhere, took long enough fer us to meet up again, damn sure I ain’ gonna lose ya again. An’ to be honest with ya, I don’ wanna have anyone else protectin’ ya.” It was always his job, and now it was again, and always would be until the day he died. Now, however, the protecting thing had a whole new meaning, he wouldn’t just be protecting a school friend he classed like a kid sister, he would be protecting the love of his life, and that was a whole bigger issue. He soon felt Melody cuddle into him as they walked, and Brendan cuddled her back, realising how good it felt to cuddle into Melody like this, and Brendan really was beginning to think even more that Melody was the one, and that he had got it right this time. When Brendan said the sooner he got the list of cheeses she liked the sooner he could stock up Melody said that she might have to do that while she was doing the editing. Brendan chuckled and raised his eyebrow, “So ya’ve managed to learn how to multi-task as well then?” Brendan had to learn how to do that with his job, because he always had to do at least two things at the one time, sometimes more than two things at once. It had taken a lot of practice to master the art of multi-tasking and even now sometimes he didn’t always manage to do it. Although it would be good to have the list so that he could go and stock up on her cheese the very next day, and he would, he would stock up on it almost immediately, so that he would always have her favourite cheeses in when she came to visit or, if she came to live with him, something he hoped he could see in the future and hopefully not too distant future either. He was falling deep again, and there was nothing pulling him back, even his own head had given up the fight with his heart. But his head was beginning to think that maybe his heart was right for once. After Brendan complimented Melody on looking more gorgeous than the roses he had bought her, she flicked her hair and said she did what she could to look like that, and then laughed. She then put her hand up to her mouth, and Brendan couldn’t help but shake his head slightly, but he was grinning with his dimples on show and eyes twinkling, “Well wha’ever it is yer doin’, I can tell ya tha’ it’s workin’ damn fine.” She was absolutely stunning, she always had been pretty, even in school, but now she was just absolutely stunning, she was blowing him away. When neither of them could figure out what surprise number he had just given her, Brendan had suggested they stop trying to count because he was sure there would be many more to come. He grinned when Melody said it was a good idea because she didn’t want to be continually counting thinking of nothing else when she wanted to think of other things and then added she wanted to think of him. “Well, tha’s good to know, cause I don’ wanna be thinkin’ abou’ anythin’ but yerself.” He gave her a warm smile to pretty much match the one she had just given him. Brendan had then offered to run her to the station and bring her back to his place after she had reported the news at six that night, he smiled as Melody replied, “Ain’ a problem ma Little Butterfly, I did say when ya needed to go, ya gotta leave early to get yer makeup an’ stuff done, then tha’s fine, ya jus’ say the word when ya hafta leave an’ I’ll take ya, alrigh’?” Brendan couldn’t wait for her to finish reporting on the news so that they could then spend the rest of the evening together. Sure Libby and Gray would probably be around, but knowing Gray, he’d disappear to his own room which was like a small house in itself with everything he needed, and Libby would probably either challenge Gray to a game on his console, or she’d just go to her own room and read or something, she was a clever kid, she always knew when to give Brendan some space. Soon they were on their way to the television station so Melody could get her footage edited for the news later that evening. She told him to bring their desserts so they could be put into the fridge, as she wanted to eat them back at Brendan’s house. “Sure sweetheart.” With that he lifted the desserts, locked the doors and then grabbed her hand telling Melody to lead the way, calling her hot news reporter. It didn’t take long for Melody to reply to what he had said. “I do think yer hot as it happens, an’ maybe I should read some of tha’ fan mail, then I could tell them tha’ ya ain’ available anymore an’ yer mine, an’ tha’ means they gotta fight me to get to ya.” He chuckled, as he was half messing with her and he chuckled. The bit about saying she was hot was definitely true, but he wouldn’t tell her fans she wasn’t available even if that’s what he did think in a way, he didn’t own her, and he never wanted that impression to come across to a woman, ever. ****1/2 an hour later**** Brendan kept himself sitting in a seat close by as Melody done what she had to do with editing her footage, most of the time lost in thought about what it would be like to have Melody in his life on a more permanent basis. He loved her, he couldn’t deny it, he always had, he just never realised how much until now. But with the secret Melody shared with him earlier he wasn’t sure how she would be if spoke about her moving in or dare he think about it, how she would be if he were to propose to her in a few weeks. However, he had been quick to propose to Stacey and look how that had all turned out, maybe not the best idea. It was at this point he heard Melody say the word finally, which snapped him out of his thoughts, and he smiled looking at her. Melody then spoke to her cameraman and soon she was coming toward him and sat on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. Brendan automatically wrapped his arms around her waist, keeping her there safe, so she wouldn’t slip or fall off. As she spoke to him, Brendan kept smiling and nodding his head, until she asked if it was okay. “Sure, tha’s all fine with me sweetheart, lookin’ forward to takin’ ya back to ma place an’ showin’ it off ya know.” Not that he was being big headed about it or anything, but he did love his massive house so much he did take great pleasure in showing it off to anyone who was interested. She then continued adding if they would still have time for the swim and if so she could stop in and get her bikini and used her fingers to walk up his shirt saying she wanted to give him that preview. “Damn righ’ we’ll have time fer the swim, I wanna see ma preview.” He chuckled and then lifted her fingers up which were walking up his shirt and kissed the tips of them before she got up from him and grabbed her bag leading him back outside again. Brendan soon had them and the dessert back at his jeep, he immediately opened the passenger door for Melody and waited for her to get in before he closed the door gently. He placed the dessert in the backseat and then made his way to the driver side, once he was inside he turned to Melody. “Ya best show me where am goin’, ain’ been to yer apartment afore, remember.” He chuckled and started up the engine, leaving the station and then waiting for Melody to give him the directions he needed to stop by her apartment before making his way back to his own house.

Just hearing Brendan respond more about him saying he would be there for eternity, it sounded wonderful to Melody. Just hearing him say that he wasn't going anywhere, and that he didn't want anyone else protecting her, made her feel all the more special. Brendan had been a fantastic friend back in high school, and now he was going to be much more than that to her. "I understand what you are saying, and still glad that it is you who is protecting little old me." As she hugged into him, Melody grinned to herself. For once her life was going on track, and Brendan would be the one to walk beside her. Melody gave Brendan a cheeky grin then, when he asked if she had learned how to multi-task. "Maybe. Or maybe I have been able to do that all the time, and you just never noticed." It has always been said that females were always better at that then men, but Melody didn't want to point that fact out. But knowing him, Brendan already knew that. "If you want, I can teach you," Mel said, as she rested her chin in her hand. I am definately acting silly, and somewhat grown up around him, thought Melody, after she made the comment about doing what she could with her looks, flicking her hair. Brendan commented, and she raised her eyebrows quickly. "Well then. Good to know." Mel lent in towards Brendan. "You might just have to keep the other people of your gender at bay then." She looked around, and then giggled more. Yes, he was definately bringing out a lot of herself, and she was loving it. After Melody had made the comment about not wanting to think about keeping count, basically because she wanted to think about him, and her smile got bigger, when Brendan commented. Yes, she was definately in love. Brendan was saying all the right things, and she was loving every second he spoke. Melody nodded, "Okay," when Brendan commented more about taking her to the television station. She sat back, and began to wonder what they might do later on. They would have the time beforehand to have a dip in his pool, that one was for sure. But afterwards, after work, she hoped that they could just sit and snuggle, eating their desserts. Or maybe the dessert could be her reward for getting a few things right that day. One, editing the footage for the news. And two, meeting and falling in love with her best friend in the world. Though her biggest accomplishment was telling Brendan her little secret, which had seemed to have scared off some of her other boyfriends. Melody was glad that Brendan wasn't going to rush the sex, since it was going to be her first time and all. But she honestly couldn't wait for him to teach her a thing or two in that area, and also all the foreplay stuff as well. She had some experience in that area, but never got far, due to the guy having to go once they found out that she was a virgin. Melody had given up hope in this more intimate area, but then she met Brendan. After Melody commented, asking him if he thought she was hot, she grinned at him at his comment. "Why thank you Mr. Harris. And I will be sure to pick up some for you to read while I edit this footage." They walked passed where she normally worked, and Melody ducked in to get a handful of fanmail. Handing it to Brendan, they continued on to the editing room. **** 1/2 an hour later **** Once she had finished the editing of the news story, Melody had then spoken to her cameraman and then headed over to sit on Brendan's lap. Once she had spoken to him, commenting about what they could do, Melody smiled at what he said. "Well I am sure that I will just take in every inch of your place" Looking at Brendan a bit, she then thought that she couldn't wait to take in every inch of him in his bathing suit, or whatever he wore in the pool. Well, if he was wanting a preview of her tattoo, she was allowed a preview of what she might expect when it was time for them to become intimate. When Brendan commented about going for a swim, and about his preview, Melody rolled her eyes and giggled. "You that excited are you?" He then took her fingers that had been walking along his shirt, and kissed the tips of them. Melody then got up off his lap, and then grabbed her bag, before leading him out. Once they were in Brendan's jeep, he turned to her and then told her that she would have to basically give him directions to her place, as he hadn't been there before. "Obviously." Melody laughed a little, then added, "I will be sure to point you in the right direction, and really it isn't that far, I walked to the station this morning." That was another thing she had to do on her list: get a new car, as the one she had was getting on, and it needed to be put out of its misery. Once they were off, Melody gave Brendan the directions. Basically it was: go straight ahead, then turn left after two streets, then one right, then a left, and there you were three houses down from the corner. Once Brendan put the jeep to a stop, Melody jumped out, with her bag, and unlocked the apartment, and ran around to get her stuff for Brendan's place. One bag held her bikini, towel, and of cause toiletries for when she would have to have a shower. Then she had to pack a change of clothes for when she had to go back to work. Melody finally had everything she needed, and she was soon out the door, locking it behind her. She then got into the jeep, and put the bags behind her seat. Turning to Brendan, Melody smiled. "Okay. All set. Let's get this swim started."

When Melody said she was still glad that it was he who was protecting little old her, Brendan looked down at her and grinned, followed by a wink as he hugged into her. He didn’t feel there was any need to say anything, he had after all, made his feelings known by saying he didn’t want anybody else protecting her. He just couldn’t believe she was back in his life, and that things might be taking a more serious step with them. Brendan felt different with Melody, he thought it was the usual ‘didn’t feel like this with any woman before’, but it wasn’t, it was a different kind of different, and Brendan liked it. He was putting it down to the fact that he had always been close to her in a big brother way, but now that relationship was blown out the water, and it was far from siblings feelings he had toward her now. Brendan had then teased Melody about the whole multi-tasking thing and he had to chuckle when he caught that grin of hers, she replied by saying maybe, or maybe she had all along and he hadn’t noticed. That was slightly possible, “Well it is possible I ain’ noticed afore, wha’ with ma eyes always bein’ somewhere else all them years ago.” Melody then said she could teach him if he wanted to. Now, had he not already been able to multi-task that might have been quite an offer to accept. “I hafta be honest, tha’ would’a been a great idea, except I hadta learn how to multi-task fer ma job an’ all, so already a pro at it, thanks all the same.” He winked and chuckled, then sighed, thinking he should have just pretended he did want to be taught, so he could have more one on one’s with Melody. Brendan had then commented saying that whatever it was she doing it was working damn fine, he gave her a warm smile as he saw her eyebrows raise saying it was good to know. She then leaned in and spoke some more, words which were making Brendan a little jealous, the green monster was beginning to burn inside, and he wasn’t too sure whether he liked it. “Damn righ’ I’ll be keepin’ them at bay, ya migh’ jus’ hafta stop me from knockin’ a guy onta the ground fer tryin’ to cop a feel.” He chuckled and winked at her again after saying that, to show he was teasing slightly, but really he was being half serious as well. Brendan might be a nice soft romantic guy, but deep down he was still a guy and he would use that status as much as possible to protect his friends and family. The longer they were together and the more they spoke the more sure he was of his feelings and yet he still had the nagging doubt at the back of his mind about how he had thought his feelings were right for Megan, Stacey and Olivia, and look how they had all turned out. Although to be fair, his feelings for Stacey were true at the time, it wasn’t his fault that he fell out of love with her when he realised the baby wasn’t his. Maybe he could have been a bigger man and took on the child as his own, but no, not when he knew who the real father was, and could anybody have seriously blamed him after what he had gone through with the guy? He realised he was thinking about the past too much, he should just forget it all and start to look forward to the future; a future which might hopefully have Melody in it now. Brendan chuckled when Melody thanked him for saying he did think she was hot, and then she went on to say she would look out some of her fan mail to read. “Sure, I’ll look forward to readin’ it, but don’ blame me if ya hear a few jealous moans comin’ from me.” He laughed then, although there was a bit of jealousy swimming about inside of him, and that was definitely something he had never felt as such when Megan, Stacey or Olivia spoke of other men, so maybe this was definitely different after all. Soon he was handed the fan mail and then Melody went off to do the editing that needed to be done. **** ½ an hour later **** Brendan had to chuckle at some of the fan mail he had read, and really he couldn’t disagree with anything that anybody had said, so long as they soon knew that she wasn’t available for romance in the real world, then they could say anything they wanted. Before Melody sat on his lap and she was making her way over to him, he sighed gently and tilted his head, “Ya know ma Little Butterfly, I ain’ gonna disagree with anythin’ they said in them letters, jus’ as long as their fantasies stay tha’ way, cause I dunno...” He let out a low whistle, “Am sure feelin’ somewha’ a little jealous ya know?” He chuckled again still trying to keep the lightness in his words, but really he was feeling incredibly jealous, he had never had that before. Once Melody was sitting on his lap, he smiled deeply at her showing off his dimples as always, and when she said she was sure she would take in every inch of his place he couldn’t help the next words that came out of his mouth, “Ya sure tha’s all ya’ll be takin’ in? Cause I think I’ll be takin’ in every inch of wha’ I get to see a little later.” He was of course referring to what he would get to see of her when she was in her bikini, knowing that he would get to see quite a bit of her body and as he thought about it, he had this sudden urge to just be lying next to her and running his finger up and down her stomach. Brendan couldn’t help but grin widely which turned into a loud laugh when Melody asked him if he was that excited, referring to his preview. “Damn righ’ I am, ya done enough teasin’ abou’ it earlier, I wanna see it already.” Although really he couldn’t wait to see the other half of her tattoo when the time was right for both of them. He would definitely have to put some of the thoughts in his head to a few songs for Melody, he was pretty sure that was one thing about him she didn’t know about, because although he had been in the school musicals, which she may remember, he had never written a song back then, song writing was a more recent thing. It would just be another surprise. Soon Melody was leading the both of them back out of television station and soon in his jeep where he had turned to Melody and said the most obvious thing, he would need directions to her house. When she said obviously, he sighed and rolled his eyes and then chuckled, “Alrigh’ so tha’ was a bit obvious, wha’ can I say, am obviously blinded by love.” Melody then went on to say that she would be sure to show him the directions and really it wasn’t that far as she had walked to the station earlier. “Alrigh’ sweetheart, go ahead, am listenin’, be good fer me to know how to get to yer place, migh’ wanna drop in sometime ya know?” Melody then gave him the directions to get to her place, and she was right it wasn’t that far at all. He was soon pulling up outside her apartment. He kept his hands on the wheel of the jeep while she ran in to get what she needed and meantime Brendan kept tapping his hands on the steering wheel, he suddenly felt like the luckiest guy in the world again, he had a new brother who he was getting on with like a house on fire, a gorgeous daughter, a great family whom he wished he could see more of and now he had Melody back in his life, he might have had a few rough trots recently, but finally it looked like his life might be turning a corner and a very different and good one at that. It didn’t take too long for Melody to get her stuff and soon he was watching her lock the door and she was back in the passenger side of the jeep again. He turned his head to the side and smiled at her, “Alrigh’ then, an’ goin’ by where ya live, ya wouldn’ believe it, but I don’ live so far away from here really. Abou’ ten minutes away maybe.” Brendan grinned and started up the engine again and soon began to make his way to his ‘little’ house. Brendan’s house was far from little, anybody who really knew him, knew about his wealth, knew that he had a massive house with heaps of rooms, photography room, music room, his indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and his tennis court, basically it was like a mansion with acres of ground, almost like the kind of place you’d expect royalty to live. As he drove to the distance to his place he kept side glancing at her, and smiling, he couldn’t believe he had Melody back in his life again, and what was more, he couldn’t believe that she was going to be more than just a friend now. “Still findin’ it hard to believe I’ve got ya back in ma life ya know. I don’ ever wanna lose ya again.” He wondered if Gray would be at home or if he would be out for a drink or maybe he might be off somewhere with Libby, looking at the time it would be getting on for her being back from school soon enough. He loved his brother and daughter, but just for a couple of hours he’d be glad if he and Melody could just be on their own at his place. Brendan’s house was now just to the left. “Well, tha’s us here Butterfly, jus’ one question, will ya be wantin’ to go inta the indoor or outdoor swimmin’ pool?” He winked and chuckled as he got out of the jeep and immediately went round to Melody’s side and held the door open for her, once she was out, he locked it and took her hand and led her up to the front door of the lavish building. He tried the door first to make sure nobody was in but it was locked, “Well, looks like we got the place to ourselves fer a while anyway.” He unlocked the door and then with his hand on the small of her back he led her into his house. Once he had closed the door over, he turned to her and grinned, “So, wha’ d’ya think?”

Melody giggled, and rolled her eyes as Brendan's comment about his eyes being elsewhere. Well yes, she thought, at the other girls, and then at your high school sweetheart. After she made the comment that she could show him how to multi task, Brendan said he had to learn it himself for his job. "Well, if every you do have too much to handle, you know who to call." Really she sometimes had her own stuff to handle, but really she could still help out if necessary. Or just in order to be close to him whenever he needed her. Melody was soon seeing this 'jealous' side of Brendan. One she had never really seen at all, and really it was not a good look on him at all. She listened to what he said, and it led to her shaking her head. "I am sure that I will be okay, really. I can put up a pretty good fight, if I do say so myself." Melody put up her fists, like she was ready to punch someone out. She put a mean look on her face, but it didn't stay for long, as she soon burst out laughing. "I can see you so telling off a guy who tried to cop a feel. But let's just see who gets to that guy first, hey?" Melody then told him that she would give him some of the fan mail to read, and had to roll her eyes slightly, smirking. "Well, I will have to keep my comments at bay then as I concentrate on the editing then." She swiped him one with her hand, not hard, but it was definately playful. **** 1/2 an hour later **** As Melody made her way over to Brendan, he commented about the letters and fan mail he had read through. She stopped, putting her hands on her hips. Melody tilted her head slightly, taking in what he was saying. Well, she had always hoped that the fans of hers only did do that, just think of her in their dreams. None of them really interested her. She normally liked to meet people normally, not by wanted ads, or through her fan mail. So it was lucky that she had met up with Brendan again, in the real world. Melody continued to walk towards Brendan and put her hands on either side of his face. "Well, Brendan Harris. You don't need to feel jealous. I am yours, and no one elses." Melody then sat on his lap. Melody gasped a little, and giggled, when Brendan made his next comment. She playfully slapped his upper arm. "Brendan Harris!" Then she had asked if he was excited about his preview. She shook her head, laughing a little at his reply. "Ooo, demanding much?" Melody lent into his ear then, "You will get to see some of it soon enough." She couldn't really wait to show him, as she hadn't been in a bikin in a couple of years, wanting to keep to one pieces when around her family, so that they didn't see what she had gotten up to. Melody didn't feel like explaining the whole story to her parents in the slightest. Melody started to laugh at his lame joke about being blinded by love. "Oh Brendan, you just say the darnest things." She nodded when he said it would be good to know where she lived so that he could drop in sometime. "I know. And it would be good for you to do that. It makes sense if I am doing that, then you might as well." Soon enough, after her directions, they were outside her apartment. She had run in, got what she needed, then came out. Once back inside the jeep, Brendan commented on how far it was to his place. "Really, and I wonder how come we never ran into each other till now? But really, have only been living in this apartment for maybe four years. Lived on the other side of town for a while." This was her upgrade really, after getting that well deserved pay rise back then. It was definately a better place than what she had been living in. Melody sat and enjoyed the ten minute ride to Brendan's place. She soon found herself humming to herself, and then turned to look at Brendan. She soon noticed him glancing her way, and she smiled at him. "Well, same here Bren. I still think it was fate, you know? I didn't expect in a million years that I would ever meet up with you again. We had gone our separate ways, and I seriously thought that was the end of our fantastic friendship." Melody reached for his arm gently, not wanting to cause him to crash the jeep. "I don't think I want to let you go either." She gave him arm a gentle squeeze, but didn't remove it for a few seconds. As Melody felt the jeep slow down a little, Brendan pointed out the house. Her mouth instantly fell open, but she soon shut it. "You live here? Wow, you job must pay you a lot of money. Maybe I am in the wrong profession or something." Brendan then asked her a question, and didn't know what to say. But then she knew. "Maybe indoor, as I don't want to look like a lobster when I read the news tonight." Brendan was soon around to her side of the jeep, letting her out. She then reached around to grab her bag, and soon they were off, hand in hand, heading towards his massive house, or mansion. The door was locked, but she wondered 'wouldn't it be?'. But then she remebered about his brother living there and all, so maybe he thought Grayson might be home. So it looked like they might have the place all to themselves. She gave him a smile, when he said what she was just thinking. "That was just what I was thinking." Once they were inside, Brendan asked her what she thought. Melody began to look around, and felt her feet move slowly forward. "Well it is rather... big. Not sure why someone would want a place like this, but you know... some people like mansions." Melody went over to him, and then wrapped her arms around him. "So where is this pool of yours? Or a better question, where is the bathroom to change into my bikini?"

When Melody said he knew who to call if he ever found he had too much to handle he just gave her a warm smile showing off those dimples of his. He didn’t think he would ever need her to help, but he might very well call on her just so they could spend some time together. Well even the best made their excuses just so they could spend that little bit of extra time with their girl. Brendan was no exception to that rule. Brendan then spoke about having to stop himself from knocking a guy onto the ground if he tired to cop a feel of her, he knew it was pure jealousy coming out of him, and he couldn’t help it, or stop it. It was crazy he had never felt that way before, ever. He had to chuckle however when Melody said she could put up a good fight and then put her fists together pretending to fight with a mean look on her face briefly. He was about to respond when she spoke some more saying to wait and see who got the guy first. “Alrigh’ then, maybe he migh’ jus’ get it from both of us, a knock on each side of his face.” That would be funny, or at least so Brendan thought anyway. Brendan then told Melody not to blame him if she heard any jealous moans coming from him when he was reading through the fan mail. He had to chuckle at her response, “I’ll moan softly then.” **** ½ an hour later **** Brendan had commented about the fan mail he had read, and how he hoped most of it remained fantasies, because he was sure feeling jealous. He honestly had never felt that way before and in some ways he was finding it a little scary. He couldn’t help but chuckle at Melody as she stopped with her hands on her hips. Soon though she had moved forward and put her hands on either side of his face telling him he didn’t have to be jealous, she was all his. He couldn’t help but put his hands on her hips gently caressing them. “Well tha’s kinda good to know, ‘cause I sure as hell don’ wanna have anybody else.” Melody had then sat on his lap. He had been quick to tease her about the whole taking in comment which resulted in a playful slap to his upper arm and for Melody to say his name in exclamation. “Wha’?!” He asked in exclamation himself, but he knew fine well what and he began to laugh softly. When Brendan said damn right he was excited for his preview adding that she had teased him enough about it earlier, he had to laugh some more at her response. “Maybe I am!” He replied to her statement about him being demanding and then she continued by saying he would get to see some of it soon enough. “Yeah I know tha’, am jus’ messin’ with ya, ya know tha’ righ’?” He shouldn’t have to ask that question because Melody should know how much he teases by now, he did enough of it back in their school days. After Brendan’s corny comment about being blinded by love, he had to laugh some more at Melody’s reply. “Why, thank ya. Ya always get a laugh with me, there ain’ no denyin’ it now.” It was true that Brendan Harris had a way with words, Melody just never got the romantic side of it much from him before, now she would probably be getting it by the bucket load. Brendan had then added it would be good to know where she lived anyway, so he could drop in sometime, just like she would do with him. “Well it makes sense yeah, but I’d be wantin’ to visit ya whether ya were visitin’ me an’ all or not.” Once they had reached her apartment and Melody got what she needed and returned to the jeep he had pointed out that he wasn’t really too far from where she lived. When Melody spoke, he shook his head slightly, “I dunno ma Little Butterfly, but am sure as hell glad we’ve met each other now, an’ plenty opportunities to keep meetin’ each other an’ all.” After all, he knew where she lived now, she would soon know where he lived, and they could swap numbers, there was no way he was letting her slip through his fingers now that he had found her again. When Brendan had commented that he was still finding it hard to believe he had gotten Melody back in his life again, he smiled warmly at Melody’s reply and got a little serious. “Same here Melody, we should’a never drifted apart in the first place ya know? But at least we got each other now, tha’s all tha’ matters.” When Melody put her hand gently on his arm, he kept one hand firmly on the steering wheel and put his other hand over hers for a few seconds. “Well I ain’ goin’ nowhere an’ if ya ain’ goin’ nowhere yerself, then we’ll be together forever.” There went Brendan’s soft romantic side again. He really couldn’t help himself at times, you just couldn’t stop the words of love and affection from coming out of his mouth when he was in love. When Brendan pointed out his house, he saw Melody’s mouth drop open and then close quickly. He chuckled a little and then answered her question. “Yeah, this is ma place alrigh’. It ain’ nothin’ to do with ma job sweetheart, mom an’ dad own a vineyard, all the kids are kinda well off ‘cause of the money they make ya know? I don’ needta work, but I do ‘cause I like to keep busy.” Brendan had then asked if she wanted the indoor or outdoor swimming pool, “Indoor it is then, although am sure I could’a put some sun lotion on ya.” He winked at her, but probably the indoor one would be better anyway. Brendan soon realised with the door being locked that nobody was home, and made a comment about having the house to themselves, he had to grin when Melody said she had been thinking the same thing herself. “Great minds think alike.” Brendan then asked her what she thought of the house, he had to raise his eyebrow as she commented, “Well I like to have space ya know? An’ it’s jus’ as well really, now tha’ I got ma daughter an’ brother stayin’ with me. But to be honest, sometimes Debbie visits an’ stays as do mom an’ dad, so always needed the extra room fer them all. Plus, I had the money an’ I jus’ loved the place, so why not?” Maybe he didn’t need somewhere quite so big, but then what would have happened when Libby and Gray had come into his life? He’d have had to move anyway, at least this way, he already had the room for them. Melody then came toward him and wrapped her arms around him and he wrapped his around her, pulling her close to him in a hug. She then asked where his pool was, or more to the point where his bathroom was so she could get changed. “Well ya’ve got three choices fer a bathroom, there’s the one on the upper floor, I call it ma luxurious one, it’s got a bath, shower, Jacuzzi, then there’s the two smaller ones down here. One of them has a bath, the other a shower, the one with the shower, is next to the indoor pool.” He laughed a little thinking it might all be too much for her to take in, so unwrapped his arms from her, and then reached for her hand and began to walk her through to where the indoor pool was. “There ya go, an’ the bathroom is jus’ to the back there.” He pointed to the white door at the opposite side of the pool, “While ya get changed in there, I’ll jus’ get quickly changed out here.” Brendan then reached for the set of waterproof drawers and took out a pair of his many swim shorts and quickly changed into them and sat down on one of the loungers flicking through one of the copies of The Chronicle waiting for Melody to come out.

Melody had to burst out laughing, soon visualising the scene that would unfold if both of them got a slap or punch in for the guy who thought he would get away with grabbing her bum. "You know, I can so visualise that all in my head right now." He then commented that he would moan softly as he read the fan mail. Melody had this thought in her head, a rather naughty thought. She lent into his ear, and had to tell him. "You know that might just turn me on a little, hearing those soft moans." She gave him a quick kiss, then went to do her editing. **** 1/2 an hour later **** After she told him that he didn't have to be jealous, and that she was all his, she felt his hands on her hips, and had to keep herself from collapsing to the ground at what he was doing to her hips. Brendan then replied, and she smiled seductively. "Good." Melody knew quite well what he was getting at, when she had playfully slapped him, and had to laugh at his comment on what she had just done. Her playful and more intimate side was going to come out of her sooner rather than later, she could just feel it. And in a way, she was liking it more and more as she was in Brendan's company. Just knowing that Brendan would get to see some of her little tattoo was making herself feel a little excited. Just being close to Brendan with not much on was turning her on a little, but kept it hidden for now. "I know that you are just just messing with me." She then lent into his ear, "But I like it." There, maybe he now got the message that all this talk was affecting her. Melody shook her head, smirking a little, at Brendan's comment about always getting a laugh with him. Hearing Brendan say that he would be wanting to visit her. Melody grinned, "Good. I would like that." Knowing that her place wouldn't be as luxurious as his, but it didn't matter to her as she loved her place. It was snug, and it held all of her interests and hobbies. And soon enough it would occassionally hold Brendan. "Definately," Mel said back to him, in regards to them meeting each other and seeing each other more. Melody couldn't wait to get to know him more at his place. But since the lunch, she had been so glad to hear that he was now available, and now she was going to be with him. Just thinking about it made her grin to herself. Finally her life was practically complete. Melody nodded, when Brendan spoke about how they should have never drifted apart. "I agree, but unfortunately our lives were taking us on different paths. But I am glad that our paths have met up again, and we won't be diverting any time soon." Just feeling Brendan's hand over her own hand on his arm felt nice, and kind of gave her goosebumps for a split second. "Glad to hear it. It has been a while since I have been with anyone. But you also know about my other secret, and in that regard have never, ever, been with anyone in that way." Melody felt that she might be ready for that next step in her life, but in some ways she was scared, and wondered if it would ever happen. She never wanted to rush it, that was why she had never been in a sexual relationship. But looking at Brendan, she knew somehow that she was glad that it might end up being Brendan that helps her in that department. Melody listened to what Brendan said about his house, and how he actually obtained it. Of cause, the whole vineyard thing. How could she forget. Melody also got the whole keeping busy thing. "I totally forgot about your parents owning that. And I get about the keeping busy comment. I hate just sitting around doing nothing. But since I now have you in my life again, I can't see me doing alot of just sitting around doing nothing." Once she said that she wanted the indoor pool, Melody smiled at what Brendan said. "I am sure that you could. Maybe another day when I am not working, okay?" She gave him a warm smile then, knowing that it will probably end up being the next day. Brendan then commented about the space, and it basically worked out in the end, because of having Libby and Grayson staying. He then added about his sister and parents saying sometimes as well. "Well it did work out in the end didn't it? And I guess it does help when guests decide to drop around." Was that a hint on her part? Who knew, but basically she was referring to who he had mentioned. Though if things were going to become official for them, then it was only right for her to have a few sleepovers, but maybe not the more intimate kind for now. It felt nice to just be in Brendan's embrace right then. Melody truly felt lucky right then, continuing to think that she was going to love being with Brendan as more than a friend. She just had this feeling. He then told her of the choices of bathrooms in the house. "Um, okay." But then he took her hand, and led her in the direction of the indoor swimming pool. Brendan then pointed out where to get changed, and she soon left Brendan to get changed, as she headed into the bathroom. Once the door was closed, Melody quickly took off her clothes, and slipped on her bikini. It felt good to wear it onces more, since she had been wearing that one piece when her family were around. Melody turned to look at the mirror, and then turned her body slightly to see half of her tattoo showing. Letting out a sigh, her heart began to race a little. Once she had her belongings all tidied in the bathroom, Melody tied her towel around her waist, and slowly opened the door. Closing it behind her, she stood at the edge of the pool, seeing that Brendan was looking at the newspaper. It seemed to her that she had come out unnoticed, so she slipped off the towel, and dived into the pool. Once she reached the other side, the side where Brendan was sitting, she wiped the hair from her face, and gave him a bright smile. "You coming in?"

When Melody said she could so visualise the both of them smacking the guy who tried to cop a feel of her ass and laughed, Brendan couldn’t help but laugh along as well. It was certainly a good visual, Brendan couldn’t argue with that, although his visual of the scene was probably different to Melody’s visual of the scene. After Brendan said he would moan softly at the letters so as not to disrupt her, she had to tell him that his low moans might be enough to turn her on. He looked at her grinning and winked, “Is tha’ righ’?” He shook his head and Melody then gave him a kiss before going off to do her editing. *** ½ an hour later *** When Brendan had told Melody that he was just teasing her and she knew that, even though he shouldn’t have had to say that, he smiled when she replied saying she did know he was teasing, but she liked it. So she was enjoying the whole messing about then, which was good to know. “I’m glad ya like it, ‘cause ya ain’ ever gonna get me any other way.” Brendan’s middle name should be ‘messing about’, Brendan Messing About Harris, yeah it sort of suited him. Brendan had to smile at Melody’s grin when he commented about visiting her. He had a feeling the two of them would never be away from each other’s houses. It just all felt so comfortable and yet so new all at the same time. Almost like slipping your feet into an old pair of slippers which had just come out of the tumble dryer after being washed. They felt like new but they were old favourites, which was how Brendan felt about himself and Melody together now. “Ya ain’ the only one whose gonna like it.” He replied referring to his visiting her. Brendan had then mentioned about there being plenty of opportunities for them to keep seeing each other now, Melody replied with a definitely. Brendan grinned at her showing those cute dimples of his. Brendan’s dimples were always noticeable, but when he smiled deeply or grinned they came out in force even more so, it was part of what made him so god damned handsome. After Brendan commented that they should never have drifted apart, Melody agreed and then went into an explanation of how it had happened and all Brendan could do at first was nod his head in agreement. “Yeah, I guess yer righ’, but damn righ’ our paths ain’ ever divertin’ again, tha’ I’ll make damn sure of.” Brendan meant that as well. He had lost too many women in the past year that he had truly loved, or at least thought he had truly loved, but despite how he felt when he was with them, none of them made him feel the way he felt now with Melody. Brendan had then confirmed he wasn’t going anywhere and if she wasn’t either, then they would be together forever. His whole romantic side just came flooding out of him in that moment. “Yer righ’ I do know yer secret, an’ like I said afore, when yer ready, jus’ say the word. Even with ma girlfriends in the past, well the past few years anyway, I ain’ ever rushed sleepin’ with them. I began to respect women too much. Now I usually wait at least a fortnigh’, make sure everythin’ is goin’ solid, ya know?” Brendan was probably one of those men who were the epitome of gentleman, you really couldn’t ask for a gentler guy than Brendan Harris, even if he would run a man into the ground for even trying to hurt his friends or family. Brendan chuckled when Melody commented she had forgotten about his parents owning the vineyard and added that she got the whole keeping busy thing. “Yeah, guess it’s kinda easy to forget abou’ them havin’ a vineyard, seein’ how it ain’ somethin’ we brag abou’ or anythin’.” He gave Melody a warm smile, and she had then gone on to say that now he was in her life she probably wouldn’t be doing much of sitting around doing nothing now. “I’ll make it ma mission to keep ya busy when ya ain’ workin’ how’s tha’ then?” He chuckled lightly and winked at her. He was truly going to love having Melody back in his life again. After Melody had commented about using the indoor pool, Brendan had spoke of putting sun lotion on her, but he had a feeling the indoor pool would have been better anyway. She then replied saying maybe another day when she wasn’t working. “Yeah, alrigh’, I know the indoor pool is fer the best jus’ now.” He smiled warmly at her, besides it would definitely be cooler for them indoors then it would be to attempt to use the outdoor pool. One thing about Nevada, even in the winter, it was always warm. Brendan loved living in Nevada; he wasn’t much of a person for the colder weather, so Nevada was like heaven to him. Brendan had then gone into detail about the house being good for the fact he now had Libby and Grayson living with him. He would only have had to get a bigger house anyway, if he’d been living in a one bedroom apartment when Libby came into his life. He chuckled at the last part of her words. “It sure does help, an’ dependin’ on the guest, they can drop round any time they like, in fact, dependin’ on the guest, they could even stay fer the nigh’ if they wanted.” Brendan wasn’t referring to having sex or anything; just the simple fact Melody could have one of the many spare rooms. What would be the point of him having this massive house, if Melody had to keep on insisting on going home every night, in fact the idea of Melody going home at night made Brendan feel sort of sad. After Brendan had given Melody the choice of bathrooms she could use to get changed, he had realised he may have overwhelmed her slightly and after her reply, he had taken her hand and led her through to the indoor swimming pool and pointed out where she could get changed, telling her he would change by the pool side. Once Melody was inside, it didn’t take him long to get changed and he soon sat down on one of the loungers by the pool and began to flick through one of the issues of The Chronicle newspaper. He was so engrossed in flicking through it, he hadn’t even noticed her come out of the bathroom or even dive into the pool at the other side. She must have done it with ease. The next thing he knew he heard her voice asking if he was coming in, he put the paper down onto the other lounger and stood up, with his hands on his hips and frowning. “Well, here was me waitin’ on ma preview an’ ya jus’ hadta jump righ’ in there an’ now I ain’ gonna get a proper look.” He was messing around again, and soon he began to laugh. “Damn righ’ am comin’ in.” He added and then, because Melody was already at his side, he eased himself down onto the edge of the pool and with his hands on the edge of the pool he pushed himself down into the water. It was lovely, because he had already been feeling the heat with the sun streaming in through the glass windows of the conservatory area where the indoor pool was. Once he was inside he didn’t hesitate to put his hands on her shoulders and turn her around gently. “Hell yeah, now tha’s wha’ I call a pretty tattoo ma Little Butterfly, yeah tha’ nickname definitely suits ya.” He then gently turned her back around again, he then loosely wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her gently close to him, and without waiting another second he soon pressed his lips against her own and began to kiss her. Well, they were in the pool, they were alone, he was damn well going to have as much fun as he could with her, for now anyway. After a few seconds he deepened the kiss and allowed his tongue to explore her mouth getting lost in the passion of the kiss.

Melody was glad that they weren't going to hopefully part ever again. That day after graduation, she had felt a bit lonely, not having her best friend with her. But she eventually learned to move on, and made a name of herself in her chosen career. Though now she was happy that Brendan was back in her life. She gave him a warm smile, acknowledging what he had said. After Melody had commented about him knowing her secret, she listened to what he said in reply to it. She nodded when he spoke about how he was with women now, and loved that about him. There were too many guys that she had dated who were after one thing, and she never gave it to them. Never gave them the satifaction. So that was her biggest problem with previous relationships. "Good to know. And you will definately be the first person to know when I am ready."
Melody giggled at Brendan, when he said that he would make it his mission to keep her busy. "Sounds like a plan Mr. Harris. Sounds like a plan." She would have to tell him about her other interests so that they could incorporate them into his line up of things to keep her busy. Though today's activity of the swim was one thing that she knew she would be doing more of, especially if she got to wear her bikini around him. After their talk of the pool, Brendan agreed the indoor was the best for now. Just knowing how warm it was outside, made Melody aware that she would get burnt, even with Brendan applying the sunscreen.
Melody was reading into what Brendan said about guests dropping around anytime, and depending on the guest they could stay the night. "Is that right? Well, I will just have to remember that one then." She giggled slightly then, and then began to think about tonight, after she did her news reporting. Melody wondered if it was going to be too forward for her to suggest that she stay over, but thought better to just leave it for tonight as they had only just gotten together. Didn't want to ruin their just meeting.
After Melody asked him if he was coming into the pool, she watched Brendan put the paper down that he was reading, and stand up off the lounge. She saw that frown, and wondered what was wrong. Then he spoke, and she then cheekily smiled, when he laughed. "I'm sorry. I just wanted to get in here first, and have the pool to myself for a few seconds. I had a nice view for those few seconds before I called you in. So I wasn't lonely." Once Brendan said that he was coming in, Melody moved away from the edge, letting him get in.
Melody slowly started to move towards Brendan. She was close enough to touch him now, but he got in first, and put his hands on her shoulders, turning her body around gently. Melody knew what he was trying to look at, and she got nervous all of a sudden, wondering what he was going to think about it. She looked behind her, wondering what he was thinking, but soon enough he spoke. It was like she was holding her breath, noticing she was letting it go slightly. A smile crept along her lips, as he turned her back around.
Brendan then wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her body close to his. Feeling their exposed skin touching, made her feel goosebumps forming along her skin. Melody could feel her heart beating a bit faster, then Brendan kissed her. She kissed him back, liking this new situation that they were in. Then she felt Brendan begin to kiss her more deeply, feeling his tongue inside her mouth. Melody returned the more passionate kissing with her own tongue having a play with his own. She found herself moaning slightly, which she knew was a good thing, as she only did this when she was really and truly enjoying the passionate kisses, and this was the time.
Melody felt that her body was having a mind of it's own, as she felt herself pressing her body close to Brendan's. Her hands began to press into his back with each movement from their lips. Melody's head was swimming right then. She knew that she was loving what was happening, but she wondered if it was all moving too fast. How old am I, she thought, old enough to do whatever I want. Her head was telling her to slow down, but her heart was telling her that Brendan was the one, and that maybe it was time to just get on with her life, and get over all of her fears. But thinking that though, it was too scary for Melody.
Melody soon pulled away from Brendan. She looked at him, feeling like she was slightly out of breath. "Well it seems the fun has alreayd started?" She giggled slightly, and then began to swim away from him, heading over to the other end of the pool, wondering if he was going to follow, or just wonder what she was doing.
