Brendan gave Melody a genuine warm smile when she told him that he would be first to know when she was ready to take their relationship to the next step. Hearing her say that more than suited Brendan because he wouldn’t usually sleep with a woman now until they had been dating for at least two weeks, sometimes three. The whole idea of realising that he would be the one Melody chose to give herself to, was still making him feel really special. “Am sure glad to hear tha’ Butterfly, but jus’ so ya know, even when ya do tell me, am sure to still ask ya more than once if yer sure.” There was absolutely no way Brendan was going to mess up this relationship, even if it was still relatively new right now. He’d stuffed up enough of them in the past, he wanted to keep a hold of this one because Melody was precious, and there went another name he could call her from time to time, if ‘ma Little Butterfly’ ever sounded daft or got too old, he’d call her Precious.
Brendan had to smile deeply when Melody giggled after he said he would make it his mission to keep her busy. She then went on to say it sounded like a plan, he shook his head slightly with a grin on his face, “Oh it’s more than a plan trust me.” He began to chuckle then. Although he realised that he would have to start finding out what things Melody liked to do, after all a lot can change in a few years, her hobbies back then might not be the same now. He did know one thing he could offer the chance of everyday if she liked and that was a swim in one of his pools; and he if got the chance to see her in her bikini everyday then he wasn’t about to say no.
After Brendan commented saying depending on the guest they could stay the night he had to wink at Melody when she said she would have to remember that. “Yeah, ya best remember it; it can get lonely fer a guy like me without a woman to have proper conversation with. Sure I got ma brother an’ Libby, but it jus’ ain’ the same ya know?” He then wondered if it would be too soon or too forward of him to suggest she stay the night after reading the news. “Actually if it ain’ too forward of me to suggest, if ya ain’ got nothin’ better planned, ya could always stay the nigh’ after yer done on yer reportin’, give us more time to catch up an’ tha’ ya know?” It wasn’t as if he didn’t have enough spare rooms, he had plenty and he would love to have her around and get that better chance to catch up, something which would have to wait until the following day if she had to go home.
After Brendan had teased Melody about getting into the pool before him, he had to chuckle at the cheeky smile she gave him. She then apologised and explained she wanted the pool to herself for a few seconds and how she had a nice view and she wasn’t alone. He tilted his head and winked at her, “Is tha’ righ’ now? Jus’ how nice was the view fer ya?” He asked giving her a cheeky smile right back. Melody then asked if he was getting in the pool which he said yeah and lowered himself in. Melody was soon coming toward him and he had immediately turned her round so he could see her tattoo or at least what he could see of it which was on show. Brendan noticed Melody turn round probably wondering what he thought of the tattoo, he soon let her know that he thought it was pretty and his nickname definitely suited her. He saw that smile on her face and he couldn’t help but smile back.
Brendan had then turned her back around and soon closed the gap between them and began to kiss her. When he deepened the kiss allowing his tongue to enter her mouth he soon felt her own tongue playing around in his own mouth and he soon heard gentle moans coming from her; moans which caused Brendan do to the same thing. The longer they kissed the more passionate it became and the more Brendan was getting turned on. He knew he would have to pull away from the kiss in the next few minutes or else something was going to make an appearance. He might have this rule of not making love to a woman for two or three weeks but it didn’t stop his body from acting like a typical male on instinct. When he felt Melody press her body against his it sent shockwaves running through him, and what he was thinking just seconds before was confirmed and it was beginning to make him feel a little uncomfortable. Brendan was just about to break apart from the kiss when Melody got in first and gently pulled away. Brendan caught his breath, but he was looking at Melody with a whole new expression, one filled with love and passion, yes Melody was definitely the one for him. Why he hadn’t known it all those years ago he didn’t know, but he knew it now, and he was damn well going to hold onto her.
Melody spoke saying it looked like the fun had already started, “Yeah, ya could say tha’.” He then watched as she swam to the other side of the pool away from him. “Although, kissin’ ain’ the only thing ya know.” Brendan swam to the side of the pool he was on and hoisted himself out and then went to the lounger at that side and picked up the Frisbee which was sitting on it and soon eased himself back in again and went to the opposite side of the pool from Melody. “Ya ready fer a bit of Frisbee throwin’? Good exercise ya know.” Well he had to think of something fun which was away from the physical contact, he told her he wouldn’t push her into anything sexual and he wouldn’t, but he couldn’t deny the physical contact was doing things to him which he wasn’t sure he was going to be able to keep under control and he didn’t want to ruin anything before it even got properly started.

Melody nodded at Brendan, when he commented on her say that he would be the first to know when she was ready. Then a small smile crept onto her lips then face. "Okay. Fair enough." Maybe it was a good thing he might ask her, just to be sure. Melody still hated that she hadn't had sex before now. But looking at Brendan, she knew that he would be gentle with her, knowing that it was her first time in that department.
All Melody could do was shake her head and smirk, when Brendan said that it was more than a plan. She then had to comment on part of it. "I trust you." Melody did and always would trust Brendan. Just being with him this afternoon had proven that, knowing that her true friend was back in her life again, and she never wanted to lose him again.
Melody smiled when Brendan commented on her having to remember that she could stay. "Oh, poor baby." She put her hands on his face, making a sad face, at the fact that he got lonely without a woman to have a proper conversation with. Melody then removed her hands, and laughed a little. "I know what you mean. Sometimes I want to talk to a guy who thinks with his upstairs brain, you know? Some of these idiots who are apparently smart enough to read the news just don't have one." Melody sometimes wondered about the guy she read with. He was always cracking onto her, and she just learned to roll with it, and give him her best comebacks all the time. It was like a game for her, but sometimes it got old.
Brendan then made a suggestion about her staying after she read the news. Melody didn't see the harm in it, seeing as Brendan wasn't a complete stranger to her. "Well if that is what I am doing, then I will have to stop in and get some clothes on the way home for tonight. You know, pjamas and all that." Melody should have thought that far ahead before, but she hadn't. Then she realised that the next day was Saturday, and it was her day off, until reading the news that night. "I actually don't have to work till tomorrow night, tomorrow. So if you wanted to do something tomorrow, I am up for it." Melody hoped that she wasn't too pushy, or anything, but she wanted to spend a bit of time with Brendan. Catching up always took time.
Melody looked sideways, thinking about the view that she had seen. "Well. It was rather welcoming actually. But then I couldn't wait to view it up close." Her eyes looked at him, smiling. Once Brendan got into the pool, he took a look at the tattoo, then had commented. Melody now couldn't wait for him to see the rest of that tattoo, but all in good time. Once the gap was closed between them, they soon kissed. Melody was really enjoying the deep, passionate kiss between them. But she could also feel her own body beginning to make the situation a bit more full on. Her hands on his back, and her body pressing against his. She hoped that Brendan wasn't getting the wrong idea, but her heart and head were telling her two different things, so she finally broke apart from the kiss.
Melody then swam to the other end of the pool, wondering what Brendan might do. She had to smile and then laugh a little at his comment. Well, Melody thought to herself, kissing and chasing each other for a kiss might be fun. She almost reached the other side, when she turned to see what Brendan was doing. Melody saw him getting back in to the pool with a frisbee in one hand. She raised her eyebrows slightly. "Okay. I suppose so." She hadn't really expected that, but maybe it was a good thing to do something besides being close to each other.
Melody put her hands up, ready to catch the frisbee, once it was thrown. She watched it coming towards her, but then forgot where she was, and Melody hit her head on the edge of the pool. Not hard to knock her out, but enough to hurt. "Ouch. Fuck." Her feet touched the bottom of the pool, and Melody put on a frown, rubbing the back of her head. The bump was bringing tears to her eyes, but she wasn't crying. It just made her eyes water. So much for a fun afternoon. But in one way she was lucky it wasn't the front of her head, when she read the news that night. Some questions might be asked.

{ooc - just to let you know I plan on Brendan's dad arriving to take Libby away for a week - because I don't wanna bring in a second character to this thread - 3 threads with 2 characters for me is enough for now. Sorry.}
When Melody commented saying ‘okay, fair enough’ Brendan gave her a warm smile, Brendan simply didn’t want to make another mistake, he had made enough of them to last a lifetime when it came to women, he wasn’t about to add Melody to that list. She was his friend first and foremost and that made it even more of a reason not to go messing it up, because he wouldn’t just lose yet another woman, he would lose a good friend as well. No, it simply wasn’t going to be an option for Brendan. After Brendan had said it was more than a plan when it came to keeping Melody busy he had to smile at her response when she said she trusted him. It was a nice feeling to know someone trusted you, but with Melody it wasn’t much of a surprise, considering they were friends back at school. Brendan trusted Melody too, he trusted her with his life.
When Brendan had commented about being lonely without a woman to have proper conversation with he had to chuckle at her words and then he felt her hands on his face. They felt good there and he wanted to put his own hands over them to keep them from moving, but he didn’t. Melody then spoke again saying she knew what he meant commenting that she would love to talk to a guy who thinks with his upstairs brain and went on to say that they apparently don’t have one for all they’re supposed to be smart. “Well then, tha’s even more reason fer ya to stay, we can both have grown up conversation then.” He chuckled and followed it with a wink. Brendan just hoped that none of them ever tried to crack onto her, especially when he was around as he’d soon put them right and there went that jealous streak of his again. It was honestly freaking him out; he hadn’t felt that way for a very long time, in fact, he had never felt that insanely jealous before, with anyone.
Brendan had then suggested she stay the night after she read the news that evening, wondering what she would say, he couldn’t help but smile deeply when she agreed. She then added about having to stop off at home to get clothes to wear at night mentioning pyjamas. “Tha’s alrigh’ Precious, if I didn’ think there’d be anythin’ else ya’d need, I coulda jus’ given ya one of ma shirts to wear fer the nigh’.” Brendan had some nice soft shirts, and on Melody they would have been more like a nightshirt anyway, but he figured she’d want to get fresh clothes and underwear for the following day, so if she was going to pick up those, she may as well pick her pyjamas while she was at it. He then realised he had just called her the new nickname he’d thought of earlier, he wondered if she would have anything to say about that at all.
Melody then commented that she didn’t have to work the following day until the evening if he wanted to do something. It would mean Libby being around as it would be the Saturday; it would be a good chance for Melody to meet Libby properly, even though she would see her later when she got back from school. “Yeah sure, tha’ be kinda cool, ya’ll get to spend some time with Libby then if yer up fer it?” Although knowing Grayson he’d probably take Libby off somewhere at some point to give him and Melody proper time together if he wasn’t too busy working on his bike, as he sometimes liked to do at the weekend. Brendan then began to wonder what they would do for all the time Melody would have free the next day. “Anythin’ in particular ya had in mind fer tomorrow, or jus’ play it by ear an’ see how it goes?” If Melody had an idea in mind Brendan wanted to hear it, if not he might suggest something himself.
When Brendan had asked Melody how nice the view was she had been seeing when she had sneakily went into the pool while he had been busy flicking through the paper he had to chuckle at her response. “Am glad ya thought it was welcomin’, hafta admit, the view’s pretty damn fine from here an’ all.” He said with a grin before heading into the water to join her. Once he got close to her he had looked at her tattoo and after commenting he began to kiss her. The kiss got rather passionate and Brendan began to feel things stirring, making him feel somewhat uncomfortable and not wanting to push things with Melody and with his own rules of not sleeping with a woman for at least two weeks he knew he had to pull back from it, and that’s exactly what he was going to do when Melody broke apart from it first.
Brendan wanted to have more fun in the pool with Melody but he had this feeling if it were anything physical it would just lead to him feeling the same way again, so he had decided on a game of Frisbee throwing. The raised eyebrows and the words from Melody made Brendan think she wasn’t overly impressed, maybe he should just be honest with her and explain to her what kissing her was doing to him. If she knew he was only thinking about her then she might understand his crazy plan of throwing a Frisbee. Brendan then threw it after he saw Melody raise her hands to catch it, then he watched as she hit her head on the edge of the pool it was as if it was done in slow motion and the look on Brendan’s face was one of shock. Damn it he thought to himself, wrong choice of fun it would seem. He immediately swam over to her and put his arms around her waist forgetting how the physical contact had been making him feel, he was too busy worrying about Melody to think about what touching her might be making him do.
“Are ya alrigh’? I sure am sorry fer tha’ ma Little Butterfly, I didn’ mean to hurt ya.” He decided he should just tell her the reason for getting the Frisbee, maybe she’d understand why he decided on the stupid game. “its jus’ tha’ kiss afore was sure causin’ somethin’ to happen an’ it was kinda uncomfortable fer me, ya know? An’ wha’ with ma promise to ya abou’ not pushin’ ya an’ ma own rule abou’ not sleepin’ with a woman until after a coupla weeks, I figured I should try an’ avoid as much physical contact as possible until I calmed down. Ya ain’ bleedin’ are ya?” He felt terrible, the last thing he wanted to do was to hurt his precious little butterfly.

{ooc - that's fine Mands - whatever works for you } Melody liked the idea of having the grown up conversations with someone who knew how to have them. "I would love that. I wil just make sure to sneak away after the news has been read, and get away from the guys who don't know how to handle a proper conversation." She often wondered how most of them got their jobs in their line of work. Hearing Brendan offer her a shirt for the night sounded nice actually. Then she stopped for a second, realising that he had another nickname for her. Melody looked at Brendan slightly to the left, "Well I won't knock back wearing a guy's shirt for the night. And is that how you see me, as someone precious?" She bit her bottom lip, pulling at it with her teeth slightly, then letting it go. First he gave her a nickname because of her tattoo, now another one. "What signifance is that one to me now, as I know the significance of the 'Butterfly' one." Melody felt kind of special to get two nicknames in one afternoon. Melody gave Brendan a smile, when he seemed to like the idea of spending some time together the following day. "Why not? More the merrier I say. And would be kind of cool to get to know Libby." It might give me practice with her, so I know what I will be getting myself in for when I eventually have one of my own, thought Melody. Secretly she couldn't wait to have kids, and knowing that Brendan might be the one that she has them with, or at least sleeps with first, made her get all giddy inside. Brendan then added asking if she had anything in mind for them to do tomorrow. "I say play it by ear, and just see what we want to do after breakfast. Spontaneous works for me, I say." Melody giggled a little then, liking that idea, as it would depend on how long they stayed up for to chat. Melody felt like an idiot for not watching where she was going, and for hitting her head. Now she was finally with a guy who might be the one for her, and Melody had to make a fool out of herself in front of him. Through her watering eyes, she saw Brendan swimming over to her, and as she wiped at her eyes with one hand, Melody felt his arms around her waist. Brendan then enquired if she was alright, and apologised. Melody continued to rub at her head, and felt her bottom lip pouting. "I will be okay, I guess. And don't be sorry Bren. I should have been looking where I was going." The hand that she had been using to wipe the tears away, was now on Brendan's shoulders, and she listened to what he said next, as she continued to place her other hand over the bump she could definately feel on the back of her head. Melody found her warm smile, and felt her heart beginning to melt at what he said. She looked from one eye to the next, and then stopped, and stared at Brendan. "I understand about before. There was definately something there, and maybe it is for the best for now to put a stop on all of that for at least half an hour." Melody smiled, then felt the pain in her head. "I might get out, and grab some ice, if that is okay?" Melody swam over to the ladder in the pool, and slowly climbed up, and then stood up slowly on the edge of the pool. She slowly moved over to the chairs that Brendan had been at before, and sat down. It wasn't a bad knock, but bad enough to leave her with a terrible headache.

{ooc - I can write for Libby for a bit in some of Brendan's posts though}
After Brendan had mentioned about them being able to have grown up conversations, he had to chuckle at Melody’s response, especially when she spoke of sneaking away from the guys who don’t know how to handle a proper conversation. “Well ya know, maybe I should start comin’ to collect ya, yer very own quick getaway clause?” He joked, but Brendan was actually quite serious at the same time, it wasn’t as if he would have to leave work early to collect her, well in the evening anyway and if Gray wasn’t at home to watch over Libby then she could always come with him. If the way he was feeling for Melody was true and he was pretty certain it was, then maybe she’d be living with him soon enough anyway. Why had he always rushed into these previous relationships? Alright, so maybe Gray would think he was rushing again, but really Melody was his friend from school, it wasn’t exactly rushing in, more of a realisation for stronger feelings.
Brendan had then offered Melody a shirt she could wear for the night, but he knew that she might want to get other things as well, however when Melody answered it sounded to Brendan like she was accepting the offer and then she questioned him about the other nickname he had given her. Well really Brendan could call some of his friends and family a few names, most of them had one nickname and one only, but some had a couple, and he found that with Melody it was going to be anything from Little Butterfly and Precious to simple sweetheart. “So ya do wanna wear one of ma shirts then? Cause tha’ ain’ gonna be a problem, I jus’ figured ya migh’ wanna go gettin’ fresh clothes an’ underwear fer the next day an’ all.” Then he couldn’t do anything but smile deeply at her as she spoke of the new nickname. The way she had bitten down on her lip was so adorable. “Yeah, tha’s exactly how I see ya Melody, ya’ve always been special, but now yer ma Precious Little Butterfly, an’ there ain’ nothin’ wrong with tha’.”
Melody then asked for the significance of the new nickname as she already knew the significance of the Butterfly one. “Well this one is kinda easy, yer jus’ such a special person to me, someone I wanna take special care of, so to me yer precious, if anythin’ was to ever happen to ya, I ain’ sure how I’d cope.” It was sort of funny for Brendan to be thinking like that again about Melody after such a long time of not being in each other’s lives, but now that she was back in his life, he never wanted to lose her again, and yes that meant she was precious to him and he would do anything, absolutely anything to keep her safe.
Brendan grinned at Melody when she seemed to like the idea of Libby coming along as well, adding the line ‘the more the merrier’. Well that was certainly true, maybe Libby could finally get that settled family feeling with him and Melody. Libby had never met Megan, but she’d been in his life with Stacey and Olivia, and neither of those had worked out very well. This one basically had to work or he was going to give up on the idea of finding love and just be happy with his lot, his brother and sister and his daughter, and his parents of course. “Tha’s great, an’ I can assure ya, Libby will likely be just as excited about gettin’ to know yerself an’ all.” Brendan had then asked if she had anything in mind or were they just going to play it by ear. He smiled at her reply, “Spontaneous works fer me an’ all.” It did make him wonder what they would actually end up doing as they didn’t exactly live on the coast. Maybe he could get his friend to fly them to the California coast line so they could spend the day at the beach, Libby was sure to like that, then again thinking back to earlier when Melody didn’t want to go outside, maybe that wouldn’t be a good idea , no doubt they would sort something out.
After Melody bumped her head on the edge of the pool because of Brendan’s stupid game to stop him from getting overheated with their earlier kissing he had immediately made his way over to her to find out if she was alright. He had apologised of course, but Melody said she was fine, she guessed and he wasn’t to apologise, she should have watched where she was going. Brendan shook his head slightly, “I shoulda been more careful where I was throwin’ it.” Brendan might not have been the one to his head on the edge of the pool but he wasn’t daft, he knew it would be hurting like hell. Brendan had then explained his reason for the stupid game; he soon felt one of Melody’s hands on his shoulder as she listened to what he was saying. When she spoke she seemed to be agreeing to what he was saying. He had to chuckle at the half an hour bit. “Yeah I think tha’ migh’ be fer the best, fer half an hour at least.” He winked at her then and smiled deeply, at least he was able to have his hands on her waist, as he had already managed to calm down a little when Melody had swam away from him.
When Melody spoke again she mentioned about getting out and getting some ice, Brendan nodded his head, “Sure sweetheart, ya wanna go rest up on one of them loungers an’ I’ll go get some fer ya?” Brendan asked her, as he watched her climb out of the pool and made his way right behind her. He quickly grabbed one of the towels and wrapped it around himself and then handed Melody one. “Ya can dry yerself off a bit with tha’.” Once he felt he was dry enough, he took the towel off, laid it over the lounger and quickly pulled on one of his shirts and made his way toward the kitchen to get some ice. It didn’t take him long before he was heading toward Melody again with some ice wrapped in a clean dish towel and some painkillers with a glass of water. “Her ya go Precious, some painkillers fer ya, migh’ help, don’ wanna have ya goin’ back to report on the news with a blindin’ headache now do we?” He then gently pulled her forward and put the towel with ice behind her head gently and began to hold it there.
He took a quick look at the time and seeing it was now almost half three in the afternoon, he would be expecting Libby home soon. “Libby will be back soon, if am goin’ to take ya to the station to do yer news report, she’ll hafta come with us, unless Gray’s back.” He didn’t mind her making her way home from school by herself, besides, it didn’t happen all the time, Gray usually collected her and if not, she made her way home with some friends from school. “Maybe we can pick up a pizza on the back here?” Well he loved pizza and Libby loved pizza and with Melody’s cheese fetish he had to assume she wouldn’t say no to pizza either.

Melody snickered a bit at the thought of being able to escape one particular idiot at work. "Sounds like a plan Bren. Will definately hold you to that one." Melody had no need very much to drive her car, as the station was only a few blocks from her house, and was nice to get the fresh air before she had to deal with the stale stuff at work.
Melody smiled a little, looking down at the ground, when Brendan asked her if she was wanting to wear one of his shirts. She then looked up at him, and nodded. "I do, but I also still want to get fresh clothes for tomorrow." Another thing was that she had never gotten very far in a relationship to wear the guy's shirt for the morning after, and in some ways she was thinking that far ahead. Melody knew that she wouldn't be sleeping with Brendan that night, but she was liking the fact that she would be wearing his shirt.
Then Brendan spoke more about her new nickname. Melody had no words to say, and all she could do was give him a hug, leaning her head on his chest. She then listened to what he said about her new nickname, and gave him a grin. "Well I don't want anything to happen to you either. We lost contact one before, and if you went away again, don't think I would be able to handle it as well as I did the first time." Melody didn't know where that came from, but she had to tell him that she was basically never wanting to be apart from him.
"Great. But I suppose we could involve Libby. Maybe asking her what she would like to do. Maybe there is something that she has just been dying to do." Melody smiled then, knowing that she wouldn't care what they did as long as she got to be with Brendan, who she was loving more and more.
Brendan had explained why he had wanted to do something other than basically kissing with her, and Melody felt that maybe he was right. She started to giggle a little with Brendan's reply then, but it hurt a little, and she then pouted. Brendan then agreed to her getting out, suggesting she go rest up on one of the loungers. Once Melody got out, she headed towards one, and Brendan offered her a towel to dry off. She took it slowly, and began to rub herself dry, but bending over to dry her legs made her head hurt, so she left them, knowing that she could wrap the towel around them so the water would eventually come off.
Melody then sat down on the lounge, and slowly sat back, putting her hand behind her head again. Her head was throbbing a bit, and she closed her eyes for a few seconds to try and rest. Soon enough Brendan was back, and she opened her eyes at the sound of his voice. She gave him a weak smile, "Thanks Bren," taking the tablets to take for the splitting headache she was getting. Melody allowed him to move her forward, after she took them, and felt how nice the ice was. But she had winced a little when the cold first hit the spot. "I feel like an idiot for hitting my head. Why, on the first day we get together, I had to do this clumsy thing?" She shook her head a little, and then brought her knees up to rest her head on.
Brendan then said that Libby would be home soon, mentioned that she might have to come for the ride to the television station later. She moved her head up to look at Brendan. "That's okay. It will give us time to get to know each other a little. Even if it is for a short time." Then the mention of picking up a pizza sounded good to Melody. She smile a big brighter then, "But make sure that there is one with cheese on it, okay? Lots of it." Melody giggled then, and winced through it with the movement. She laid back with the ice behind her head, hoping that the pain would just go so that she could spend time with her Brendan.

When Melody said it sounded like a plan and she would hold him to it, he just smiled deeply at her, it wasn’t as if it would be a difficult thing for him to do after all, he would be more than happy to spend every single moment with Melody. It didn’t matter if Melody lived near to where she worked, because when he collected her, he would be bringing her to his own place which was a bit further away from where Melody stayed.
Brendan couldn’t help but grin when Melody agreed that she did indeed want to wear one of his shirts but that she would also want to get fresh clothes for the following day which was only to be expected really. “Alrigh’ well we’ll hafta stop by yer place on the way back from the station then, but I’ll make sure to give ya one of the softest shirts I’ve got.” Most of Brendan’s shirts were coloured brightly and very Hawaiian looking, but he also had a few lumber type shirts which he wore in the winter even though Nevada hardly got a winter, so she could wear one of those, they weren’t heavy material by any means, but they had more of a cotton feel to them than the material his other shirts were made of. The idea of Melody wearing one of his shirts made him feel good and he couldn’t wait to see her walking around wearing one of them. He actually couldn’t wait until he could lie next to her and feel her body against his, but there would be plenty of time for that later.
When Brendan answered Melody’s question about the new nickname, she gave him a hug leaning her head on his chest and without hesitation Brendan leaned his chin on top of her head, just loving the embrace they were currently finding themselves in. Brendan then added to the new nickname giving her the significance of it and he couldn’t help but smile at the grin on Melody’s face. He then listened to what Melody said and he felt his heart melt slightly when he heard her say that she didn’t think she would be handle losing him as well this time as last time. “Well ya don’ hafta worry Precious, cause I ain’ goin’ nowhere, hell I jus’ got ya back, there ain’ no way am gonna go losin’ ya again.” They might not be in an intimate relationship yet, and they might not get into it for a few weeks yet, but Brendan knew he loved Melody, it was evident from the moment they began to talk earlier, this was it, he was sure of it. There was no going back; from now on it was forward with a new life, one which would hopefully have Melody in it.
When Melody spoke of involving Libby in the decision of what they would do the next day he grinned at her. “Am sure she’d love tha’, although she don’ ever ask fer much ya know. Even if she saw an advert on the television, she’ll say somethin’ is nice but she won’ actually say can I have tha’. She’s a good kid, tha’s why I went an’ bought her this bear.” Brendan’s eyes were misting over slightly, he loved talking about Libby, she was another precious thing in his life and he felt blessed to have her even if she had only been in his life for a few months now. He would have done anything to have her in his life from the start, but it hadn’t been in his call.
Brendan still couldn’t believe his little game to stop himself from getting too heated over kissing Melody had ended in slight disaster with her banging her head on the edge of the pool. So when Melody decided to get out Brendan had agreed and told her to rest up which might actually help her feel a bit better. Brendan had then handed her a towel to dry off and went to get the ice in a dish towel she had asked for. He also brought her a glass of water with a couple of painkillers to take. He had then gently placed the ice behind her head and held it there. Melody thanked him giving him a weak smile. “Yer welcome Precious.” Melody then began to speak asking why she had to do this clumsy thing on their first day together. Brendan decided to make light of the situation, or at least he hoped it would make light of it, “Cause yer idiot boyfriend thought Frisbee throwin’ in the pool woulda been a great idea.” Yes he had used the word boyfriend, because as far as he was concerned that’s what he was now and he certainly saw Melody as a girlfriend. He sighed thinking how stupid he was for suggesting the game, he should have just told himself to calm down, it might not have worked, but it would have been better than his Melody ending up hurt.
Brendan then mentioned about Libby being home from school soon and how she might have to go to the station with them, he smiled deeply at Melody’s response. “Tha’s great sweetheart am glad ya don’ mind.” He just hoped Libby wouldn’t ambush her with heaps of questions because she was excited about meeting someone else. Brendan then suggested about getting pizza to bring back for eating when they were heading home again. He had a feeling it would go down well and he wasn’t wrong. “Ya wan’ one with extra cheese? Really? Now how did I know ya’d say somethin’ like tha’? I was thinkin’ of gettin’ the triple cheese pizza maself, does tha’ sound good enough fer ya?” Brendan chuckled and then heard the front door closing over and the sound of Libby putting her bag down in the hallway and the sound of little feet walking toward where he was with Melody. He looked at her, “Tha’ll be Libby now actually, yer gonna get to meet her sooner than ya thought.”
“Daddy are ya at the swimmin’ pool?” She shouted, Brendan chuckled, how did she always know where he was? It could be freaky sometimes. “Yeah, am at the swimmin’ pool, got someone fer ya to meet Kitten.” The footsteps which had been walking were now running, and Brendan shook his head, “See, I knew she’d love to meet ya.” Soon enough Libby was there and she went running up to where Brendan was and almost jumped on his back wrapping her arms around his neck in a hug, as he was still kneeling down with the ice on Melody’s head. Libby then realised who it was she was to meet and after kissing Brendan on the cheek she stood up and being the sweet natured girl she was other than when she was being a terror with Grayson, she wrapped her arms gently around Melody and gave her a hug.
Brendan then decided to introduce them, “Melody, this is Libby, ma little Kitten, an’ Libby this is Melody, an’ old friend from school.” Libby grinned, “It’s nice to meet ya Melody.” And as usual with Libby she went right in there, “Are ya gonna be ma daddy’s new girlfriend, cause he sure as hell needs someone other than me.” Brendan began to shake his head and trying to hold back a laugh, “Libby ya need to quit hangin’ around Gray as much.” He didn’t mean it of course, he was glad Libby and Gray had as close a relationship as he had with Libby himself. Libby then took her arms away from Melody so she could breathe again and went back round to Brendan. “Daddy, I got a text from Gramps earlier, he said he was on his way down here to get me to take me away fer a few days, I says tha’ll be alrigh’, it will be alrigh’ won’ it? Ya know I love bein’ down there with them an’ all the land an’ horses.” Libby had her very own horse at the vineyard, Brendan had asked her if she wanted a horse here as well, but she said that one was enough and it made her look forward to going to Texas.
“Yeah, its fine Kitten, but we were gonna ask if ya wanted to go somewhere special tomorrow when we were plannin’ our day.” He ruffled Libby’s head and then pulled her to him with his free arm and hugged her to him. “Well, maybe another time, cause I really wanna go, an’ he reckons he’d be here fer when I came back from school, so I ran all the way home, am gonna go pack a small bag, but it’s real good to meet ya Melody, I’ll look forward to spendin’ more time with ya when I get back home again.” With that Libby went running up to her room to do just that, pack her bag and knowing his dad, if he said he’d be there for when she was due home from school he’d likely be there any minute now. “Well, tha’s ma Libby fer ya, she can be a little firecracker, always runnin’ around here there an’ everywhere.” He grinned at Melody wondering what her first impression of his daughter would be.

Melody grinned at Brendan, when he said that he would give her one of his softer shirts to wear. "Okay." She couldn't wait to put it on, and just take in that it was 'his' shirt and no one elses. She still thought about the times that she could have been doing that with other guys, wearing their shirts, but the moment with being intimate always went out the window after she told them her secret.
"Good," was all Melody could get out, when Brendan said that he wasn't going anywhere, as he just got her back, and never wanted to lose her again. She then wrapped her arms around him, feeling safe all over again with him. Melody could tell she was in love with Brendan already, and she hoped for a very long time yet.
Melody listened to more about how Libby was as a person, and she was loving the sound of her more and more. "Well I can see that she is going through a pretty good time right now. Though she isn't a fully fledged teenager yet. Wait till those days come, then you will wonder where these days went to. Just image all those girls at school who thought they were all that, and then some." Melody was glad she was never like that. At least she was one of the good ones, and one of the more quieter ones that everyone knew would do no wrong. Well if they knew her now, they would think differently, especially with her tattoo. And the fact that Brendan's eyes were glazing over a little, made Melody smile at him. "You aren't going to cry are you?" She giggled a little, and put her hand on his arm. "But in all seriousness, I can tell she means the world to you, and probably vise versa."
After she questioned herself for doing this clumsy thing, Brendan soon commented about it all. Melody slowly looked at Brendan, "You are not an idiot. I know what you were trying to not do, and maybe it was for the best. Not the knock on the head, but you know what I mean." Melody didn't mind about Libby coming for the ride to drop her off at work. Definately a time to get to know each other. Then the discussion of pizza for dinner was good to Melody's ears, and she pushed at his arm with her hand, but doing that forward movement made her head hurt, making her squint. "Oh... I think I should stop moving all together." She sat back then, and looked at Brendan. "And the triple cheese pizza sounds good too."
Melody began to close her eyes for a second, trying to get rid of the throbbing headache that continued to rampage through her head, when he commented that Libby was here. She gave him a weak smile. Wish I was feeling better, thought Melody. She sat up a bit in the lounge. Melody looked at Brendan when she heard a young girl call out to see if he was at the swimming pool. She sounded sweet already, and then heard the running feet heading in their direction after Brendan confirmed that he was here, and that he had someone for her to meet. He then said that he knew she would love to meet her. Melody gave him a smile, and wondered what the young girl would think of her, seeing it seemed quite evident that her and Brendan might just end up together permanently. She smiled at that thought again.
Melody felt her breath let out a little, when Libby came into view. She watched as Libby gave Brendan a hug and a kiss, then saw Libby look at her. Melody gave her a smile, trying to ignore her headache. Libby then came over and gave her a hug. Melody didn't know what she should do, and looked at Brendan. Then without hesitating after that thought, she put an arm around Libby. Brendan then told Libby who she was, and Libby then spoke to her. "Nice to meet you too. Your dad has told me a bit about you already."
That was all Melody got out, before Libby asked her straight out if she was going to be her dad's new girlfriend. All Melody could do was to look at Brendan again, with her mouth open slightly, wondering what to say. She then looked back at Libby, as Brendan said that she needed to quit hanging with Gray. Libby then go of Melody, which she was glad of just a little, and she laid back down on the lounge, still looking at Libby. She saw looked a lot like Brendan, it was kind of cute actually. Melody let Libby just talk to her father more, and she smiled as Brendan conversed back to Libby.
The topic came up about going out the next day, but it did seem to Melody that Libby really wanted to go and see her grandparents. She watched as Brendan commented, and hugged her to himself. Yep, it seemed like they really did get on well, and Melody couldn't wait to get to know Libby more. Libby spoke more, and then directed the end of her part of the conversation at Melody. "Same here Libby. I will catch you later then." Libby was soon gone, then Brendan commented on Libby to her. "Well I can see that she might jsut get that from her father. I remember you running around in high school, after all the girls. Maybe she will be the one they chase."
She removed Brendan's hand, holding the ice, from the back of her head, and sat up closer to him. "And I can see that you love her very much, and she loves you as well. I can't wait to spend some time with her. Pity about tomorrow. But I suppose I had better wait till later. Though..." Melody snuggled up close to Brendan. "...I can't wait to spend more time with you, just the two of us." Despite her throbbing head, Melody lent up for a kiss.

When Brendan said he wasn’t going anywhere as he had just got her back, he couldn’t do anything but smile deeply at her response. Melody then wrapped her arms around him and Brendan wrapped his own around her, loving the embrace they were both in together right then. Somehow this just felt right, but at the back of his mind he kept remembering all the other times he had said that to himself, that it just felt right. He shook the thought from his head though, because despite how many times he may have thought that in the past, he was adamant this time it was definitely different, Melody should have been the one all along. The only good thing with getting it wrong in the past was the fact he now had Libby and he wouldn’t change that for the world.
After Brendan spoke more about Libby to Melody he had to chuckle at what Melody said about it all. It did make him wonder what Libby would be like as she got older, he had missed out on so much of her life already that to think about her getting older was difficult for Brendan to take on board. It was almost as if he wanted to keep Libby a young girl for ages and yet he knew that would be impossible. “I kinda don’ wanna think of her gettin’ older yet ya know? I missed out on all her younger years; kinda wanna keep her the way she is for a while yet.” He knew it was a stupid thing to say and to think; inevitably she would get older, so he had to chuckle a little after what he had just said. When Brendan’s eyes had begun to mist over talking about Libby he saw Melody smile at him and then she asked if he was going to cry or not; he sniffed and shook his head grinning at Melody when he felt her hand on his arm, “Nah, I ain’ gonna cry, but talkin’ abou’ her an’ knowin’ wha’ I missed out on, jus’ gets me a bit tha’s all.” Melody then spoke again getting a little more serious and he smiled deeply at her again. “Yeah, she definitely means the world to me, an’ yeah I guess it’s vice versa an’ all, seein’ how she didn’ think she had anymore family other than her mom.”
After Melody had questioned the fact she had bumped her head, Brendan had basically blamed himself for suggesting the stupid game in the first place. Melody then looked at him and told him that he wasn’t an idiot and that she knew what he was trying not to do and it being for the best. Adding not the knock on the head but that he knew what she was meaning. He gave her a weak smile then, “Yeah but still, woulda been better if ya hadn’ hurt yerself.” He hoped the painkillers would kick in soon for her, he would hate to think of her having to report on the news when she wasn’t feeling well and all because of his stupid game suggestion. Brendan had then teased Melody about the extra cheese, which made her push at his arm with her hand, and Brendan just chuckled slightly. However it must have hurt her as she soon spoke mentioning about not moving at all. “I sure hope yer feelin’ better fer later on, or am gonna feel terrible.” Melody then leaned back and mentioned that the triple cheese pizza sounded good to her. “Great, tha’s the pizza sorted then.” He winked at her and then gently kissed her on her forehead.
Just before Brendan announced that Libby had arrived he saw Melody closing her eyes, right now with the way Melody was feeling, it probably wasn’t the best time for her to meet his firecracker of a daughter. He really hoped that Melody would feel better soon because he was feeling awful about the knock on the head she had taken. Libby had soon made her way into the swimming pool area and after greeting Brendan made her way to give Melody a hug as well. It was typical of Libby to do that. She never seemed to be shy around anybody new. Soon enough Libby felt Melody’s arm go around her and told her it was nice to meet her too and that Brendan had told her a bit about Libby already. She grinned then, “All good things I hope? Daddy’s the best, ain’ no denyin’ it.” Libby replied as she grinned at Melody and then looked at Brendan and grinned at him too. Libby had then gone right into the firing line by asking Melody if she was going to be her daddy’s new girlfriend. Melody didn’t reply, but Brendan said she had to quit hanging around Gray so much. Since Melody didn’t reply to Libby, Brendan thought he should say something instead. “Ya jus’ hafta go firin’ questions don’ ya?” But he was grinning as he spoke, “Yeah, I reckon she’s ma new girlfriend, are ya alrigh’ with tha’?” Brendan asked Libby already having a fair idea what she would say to it, because Libby hated her dad not having a woman in his life and she craved a mother figure herself. “Yeah, I reckon it’s kinda awesome.”
Libby had then said she would look forward to spending time with Melody when she got back home and before she went to run to her bedroom to pack, she smiled at Melody as she replied saying she would look forward to it as well. They were alone again, for now anyway, while Libby packed whatever she felt she needed for a few days. When Brendan commented about Libby being a little firecracker, always running around, he had to chuckle when Melody said that she might just be like her father and how he was always chasing after the girls and that Libby might be the one the boys chase. Brendan’s mouth fell open at that slightly, “Well am glad ya think she takes after me, kinda nice to know tha’, ain’ so sure abou’ the guys chasin’ her, when she’s old enough, it’s gonna take a real decent fella to make me feel happy abou’ her datin’. I can jus’ see me bein’ one of them father’s whose always askin’ the boyfriend questions.” He couldn’t help but chuckle, he sure hoped it would be a while before Libby was dating; she wasn’t even quite eleven yet, not even a teenager.
Melody then moved Brendan’s hand which had been holding the ice against her head, he wondered if she was beginning to feel a bit better, but somehow he doubted that was the case. She then positioned herself so that she was closer to him and then she began to speak. Just hearing what she had to say made him feel good and he couldn’t help but smile deeply at her. “We do love each other, jus’ sorry I didn’ get to spend time with her from the day she was born. An’ I jus’ know she’ll be askin’ to spend time with ya the minute she’s back home.” But then Melody added that she couldn’t wait to spend time with him, just the two of them, and she snuggled into him, so Brendan wrapped his arms around her waist, “Tha’ makes both of us then.” Then Melody leaned up and gave him a kiss. Brendan returned the kiss, but keeping the full on passion out of it, just in case, instead making it tender but definitely lingering.
A few seconds later however, the door bell rang, and then it opened, and a very familiar voice spoke out. “Bren lad, are ya there. Is ma little Libby ready yet.” Brendan pulled apart from Melody and smiled deeply at her, “Tha’ll be ma dad, don’ suppose yer up fer meetin’ him an’ all?” He decided to wait for Melody to reply before he made his presence known in the swimming pool area, if Melody would rather just continue to rest, then he’d leave her lying on the lounger and he’d go speak to his dad himself.

Melody nodded a little, understanding what he was saying about not wanting to thinkg about Libby getting older. "I get that. I suppose I want my niece and nephew to stay the way they are also. They are at such a good age right now. Selena I suppose more so, what with being four now. I wish I could see them more often." Melody hadn't meant to joke about him getting all misty eyed, but she had. She nodded again, wondering how it would have been for her if she had missed out on her niece and nephew growing up, even if they were still young. "I might just have to bring over Selena and Ryan over one day to play. I am sure that Libby might like to interact with them."
Just hearing about how he was the only real family she had left made her give his arm a squeeze. "Well I am sure that she knows who were family is now, and maybe I might be part of that for a while?" She gave him a grin, hoping that it would be for quite a while yet. Melody was liking being with him, and getting to know the rest of his family.
After she had playfully pushed him with the cheese comments for the pizza, Brendan then spoke about hoping she woudl be better for later. "I am sure that I will be over the most of it by the time I have to leave. Maybe resting a bit beforehand might be in order." It sounded like a good plan to Melody the more she thought about it.
Melody was liking Libby more and more, as she spoke. She certainly seemed a lot like Brendan, and she liked that. Most of the people that she worked with were either sleeze bags or idiots, so this was all good for her. When Libby said that her daddy was the best, Melody nodded in agreement, eyeing off Brendan, smiling at him. It definately seemed evident as Libby spoke. Melody didn't know what to say, but Brendan was doing all the talking for her, which was fine by her what with the way her head was. Just hearing him say that she was his girlfriend, gave her butterflies in her stomach. Melody smiled at Brendan, knowing and having this feeling that she was going to love him so much. She waited for Libby to answer the question, and smiled even more at her response.
Melody tried not to laugh too hard at what Brendan said about the guys chasing her, and telling her what he was going to basically look for when she starts dating. "Well I am sure that with your interagating them, she will end up with someone decent. But really I can't see her going for just anyone, what with how she will be brought up from now until then. I am sure that some of you will be rubbed off on her by then."
After she spoke more, being close to him, Melody saw that deep smile of his, and just looked at him. How did she get a guy like him? When she heard him say that she will want go spend time with her the minute she got back home, made Melody smile. "I hope so. I can't wait to see what she wants to do when the time comes. But may I put in a request? No frisbee throwing in the pool!" She giggled then, hoping that Brendan knew that she was making light of that situation. Melody had then given him a kiss, feeling Brendan then return it.
As they kissed, she heard the door bell ring, and Melody eased out of the kiss, and looked at Brendan, wondering who is was. But then the voice kind of confirmed who it was. Brendan then verbally confirmed who it was, and Melody nodded. "Um. Maybe next time if that is okay. I might just rest this head if that is okay?" Once Brendan replied, Melody settle into the lounge, and reached for her bag to get her phone out to set the alarm in order for her to leave with enough time to get to the station. Melody put the phone back, then lent her head back slowly. Before she knew it, she was asleep.
[ooc - not sure if you want to put the time ahead around 2 hours - so that she can get dropped off to the station.]

{ooc - I guess I can do that yeah - basically 2 hours later and skip to him dropping her off at the station? If not you can tell me what to amend to lol} Brendan gave Melody a warm smile as she said she understood that he didn’t want Libby to grow old too fast and mentioning her own niece and nephew, adding that she wished she could see them more often. “Maybe ya should go visit them the next time ya’ve got a holiday from yer job, migh’ be kinda nice fer me an’ all.” In fact it might be nice for all of them as a family, including Libby for them to go and visit her niece and nephew. For Brendan though, the whole not wanting Libby to grow old too fast was because he missed out on watching her grow from a baby to the age she is now. Then Melody added that she could maybe bring her niece and nephew, Selena and Ryan to his place adding that she was sure Libby might like to interact with them. Brendan nodded his head and smiled deeply at her, “Yeah, I guess she migh’ jus’ like tha’ ya know.” After Brendan had said that Libby hadn’t thought she had any other family after her mom had died he felt Melody give his arm a gentle squeeze saying she was sure Libby knew about her family now and that she might be a part of it for a while. If Brendan had anything to do with it, she would be a part of the family for a lot longer than a while. He smiled at Melody, “Yeah, am sorta hopin’ tha’ migh’ be the case, so don’ go plannin’ on leavin’ us anytime soon, alrigh’?” He was sort of teasing but really deep down he was meaning every word. He had tried to settle down three times already and each one hadn’t worked out for one reason or another. Melody was his best friend so he was damn sure he was going to make this one work because he didn’t want to lose their friendship, after all that’s what happened to Olivia, he was almost certain that she would never look at him the same again. Brendan still felt terrible that Melody had managed to bump her head with his silly game idea, and he had commented that he hoped she would be feeling better for later, he gave her a weak smile as she said that she was sure she would be over the worst of it by then and maybe resting beforehand might be in order. Brendan nodded his head then thinking that would be a good idea. “Yeah, restin’ up fer a while migh’ do ya some good Precious, if ya feel ya need more painkillers ya jus’ hafta ask alrigh’?” He wanted Melody to feel as good as possible when it came to reading the news later; otherwise the feeling of being a prize idiot was never going to leave his head for the night. He wasn’t sure what he was angrier at, the fact he had suggested the stupid game, or the fact his bodily functions couldn’t keep themselves under damn control. When Brendan had explained to Libby that he reckoned Melody was his girlfriend he had asked her if she was alright with that. Naturally she gave the answer Brendan expected her to give, and he glanced over at Melody then and he saw that smile on her face. So it would seem Libby was happy with Melody being his new girlfriend and that Melody was happy with Libby’s answer. Brendan was already looking at them as a real family and it was a good feeling. The only other person she really needed to impress now was Grayson and he figured that would take some doing, because Gray had been real pissed at him for splitting up with Olivia, even if he had tried to explain he wasn’t over Stacey properly. Gray had never taken to Stacey either, and that was probably why Gray was so pissed at him for splitting with Olivia. Hopefully once Gray got to meet Melody he’d see she was a sweetheart and he would fall in love with her albeit in a different way to Brendan naturally. Brendan couldn’t help but get slightly protective when Melody brought up the whole guys chasing after Libby thing, right now it was easy to think he’d be one of those fathers who would constantly ask the boyfriend questions, but really he had no idea what he would do until he was in that situation and he hoped he wouldn’t be in that situation for quite some time. He noticed that Melody was trying not to laugh, but Brendan was already chuckling anyway. Hearing what Melody had to say then about his interrogation skills and that some of him would have rubbed off on Libby by then that she probably wouldn’t be with just anyone. Brendan smiled at that thought, “Yeah yer probably righ’ ya know. Hell I ain’ gonna start worryin’ abou’ it all jus’ now, I’ll end grey afore ma time.” He chuckled some more then, he actually did have a few grey hairs peeking through in several places, but he wasn’t about to admit that fact. Brendan had then confirmed that Libby would no doubt want to spend some time with Melody the minute she got back home and he saw that smile again, a smile Brendan knew he was going to love more and more each day and then Melody replied saying she hoped so. She then added that she couldn’t wait to see what Libby would want to do but made a suggestion that there was to be no Frisbee throwing in the pool. Brendan couldn’t help but laugh a little at that, “Don’ worry, am sure we’ll thinka somethin’ much better than Frisbee throwin’ in the pool.” Maybe they could go visiting the local zoo or something, whatever it would be, he would make it Libby’s choice, although as he had pointed out to Melody before, Libby didn’t really ask for much. They had then begun to kiss, a soft gentle lingering kiss without the heavy passion when Brendan heard the familiar voice of his father. He had asked Melody if she wanted to meet him as well, he didn’t think she would somehow and he was right, she declined adding that she might just rest up for a while and was that okay. He smiled at her, “Sure tha’s alrigh’ sweetheart.” He then bent down and kissed her gently and made his way out to see his father. After talking to his father for a good fifteen minutes while Libby got herself ready and he had seen the both of them off, he had made his way back through to the swimming pool area only to see that Melody was sleeping. He figured it would be the best thing considering what had happened earlier with the god damned Frisbee. He went and got a very light sheet from the airing cupboard and gently placed it over her and he then went to sit on the other lounger and began to read his book. **** 2 hours later **** Brendan had let Melody sleep for as long as he felt she may have needed it, but knowing when she should be awake to make sure she got to the station on time, he was about to gently waken her when he heard the sound of a mobile phone ringing. He soon realised what it was when Melody began to stir. Once she was feeling right to go, he picked up the keys to his jeep and he soon had her at the station. He was already missing Libby but he knew it would be better for Melody and him to have some proper alone time and he was actually really looking forward to it. Being able to spend the rest of the evening and night together just talking and maybe, if Melody was alright with it, just lying in each other’s arms until they both fell asleep.

Melody contemplated what Brendan said, and nodded. "Might be on the agenda for down the track, for sure." She gave him a smile, thinking about what he said more, and also visualising what they were like the last time she saw them. After she has suggested that maybe they could come and visit her, and Brendan replied, she remembered. "Well I normally have a break a week before Christmas, and the week of Christmas, so maybe I could suggest that they come and visit before Christmas. How's that?" She giggled a little when Brendan commented about basically making sure that she wasn't going to go leaving them anytime soon. "Now why would I do that. I would never do that to you again. Though last time we were parting ways due to our career choices I guess. But now we live in the same area, which I still find rather amazing. So no excuse to leave you guys now." Melody gave Brendan a warm smile, just loving that she was now on another level with him. Melody gave him a small smile, when he agreed that she should rest. She slowly nodded, when he mentioned the painkillers. She hated feeling this way, but really if Brendan was blaming himself, she didn't want that. It was partly her fault for not looking where she was going. Melody could see that Brendan was holding back the laughter too, after the talk of boyfriends and all with Libby. He soon commented more, and Melody nodded, looking at him closely. "Well I am sure that I will be the one to notice the grey then. When it happens of cause." She giggled more then, wondering what he would be like with grey hair. Was she looking that far ahead already, when really they had only started their relationship? Though it was still kind of nice thinking about it. Melody had said that she would meet his father later, and Brendan acknowledged that, which she was glad off. Brendan had then gone to greet his father, and Melody went to set her alarm on her phone. It hadn't taken Melody long to nod off to sleep, which was definately needed to sleep off her headache. **** 2 hours later **** Melody began to stir, when the alarm went off on her phone. She squeezed her eyes shut tighter, not wanting to get up. Her hand went to her head, and soon realised that the headache was gone, but the back of her head was slightly sore. Melody slowly got up and headed off to get dressed again, fixing her hair a little, as she knew that all that and the make up was done before she read the news. Once she was more presentable, Melody followed Brendan to his jeep, and soon enough she was at the television station in plenty of time. Before she got out to the jeep, Melody turned to Brendan. "You can come in if you want to see me work. You could stand behind the camera's or in the back to watch. Maybe not in my eyeline though." Melody laughed a little then, knowing that he was in her eyeline of the teleprompter, she might just stuff up her lines. **** 1 1/2 hours later **** It was now seven o'clock, and Melody was feeling a lot better after the little incident that happened at Brendan's. She would never blame him for what happened, as she knew that she should have been watching where she was going. Melody stepped out of the station, feeling rather happy with how the day had gone for her. The morning had started off okay, but by lunchtime, she was with the one person she thought she would never meet up with again. The last half of the day was going rather well: lunch, then getting herself a boyfriend, and now going to have dinner at his place. What more, she would have him all to herself, even though she wouldn't have minded Libby being there. She did seem really sweet, and she could see why Brendan loved her more than anything. "So. How about that pizza, hey?"

{ooc - I seriously need to try and keep on top of my threads - especially with the characters I love} Brendan smiled and nodded his head when Melody said that it might be on the agenda for further down the track. Then moments later Melody mentioned about having a break the week before Christmas and the week of Christmas and she could suggest they come and visit before Christmas. Brendan thought about that for a few seconds and then nodded his head, “Yeah sure, why not, I ain’ gonna see tha’ bein’ a problem.” Being with Melody just seemed to be so natural to Brendan, everything was fitting together so well, and yet he had the failures with Megan, Stacey and Olivia at the back of his head, almost as if they were haunting him. What if it all went the same way with Melody? He shook his head, he really shouldn’t be thinking like that. When he heard Melody giggle a little Brendan couldn’t help but chuckle back, with his eyes sparkling and his dimples out in full force, then he listened to Melody just smiling deeply at everything she was saying. “Well am sure glad to hear it, cause I kinda regret lettin’ ya go back then. I know at the time I only thought of ya as a friend, but fer these feelins to be so strong so soon after meetin’ up with ya again, they must’a always been there ya know?” Brendan sighed gently and wrapped her in a hug, “An’ we ain’ gonna go nowhere either.” After talking and laughing over Libby and boyfriends he watched as Melody looked at him closely, probably counting the grey hairs he might already have. Then Melody spoke as if confirming that thought he just had, he couldn’t help but chuckle. “Thanks, looks like I can count on ma Little Butterfly to tell me when am gettin’ old an’ grey then eh?” He winked at her and then chuckled some more. He actually had a few already, but with his hair being so blonde you could hardly notice them, it was only when he began to grow stubble was it noticeable, as the grey was more visible in his stubble than the hair on his head. However it didn’t go unnoticed by Brendan that it would seem Melody was looking quite a bit into their future, not that it bothered him in the slightest, he rather liked the idea of spending the rest of his life with Melody. **** 2 hours later **** Once Melody had made herself somewhat more presentable they were both on their way to the station in Brendan’s jeep. It didn’t take them too long to get to the station and before Melody got out she turned to him telling him he could come inside if he wanted to see her work, maybe stand behind the cameras or in the back, but maybe not in her eye line though. Brendan began to laugh, “Why’s tha’ Precious? Are ya worried I migh’ get ya all hot an’ bothered or somethin’? Or make silly faces to put ya off wha’ yer doin’?” Brendan shook his head and pretended to be shocked and hurt putting his hand on his chest over his heart, “Ya honestly think I’d do somethin’ like tha’?” He winked and chuckled loudly. Truth was Brendan could be a bit of a stirrer and prankster, but Melody’s job was important she couldn’t afford to mess up, loads of people watched the news. “Don’ worry, I wouldn’ dare, I’ll make sure I ain’ in yer way.” **** 1 ½ hours later**** Brendan had stayed to the side of where everything was happening, so he could see Melody but she couldn’t necessarily see him. He was really proud of her, she was so professional at her job. It was kind of funny in a way that both of them should work in the media. Alright so they didn’t have the same job, but it was definitely of a similar nature, thinking about that just made Brendan think they were destined to be together. Soon enough they were both outside the station and Melody spoke asking about the pizza. “Sure, there’s a pizzeria which ain’ far from ma place, so it ain’ gonna get too cold if we go there, ya up fer it?” Brendan waited for Melody to respond before heading back into his jeep and waiting for Melody to do the same thing and then he headed off in the direction of the pizzeria he was talking about. It was a classic Italian pizzeria and they baked their pizzas in stone ovens, the way they’re supposed to be and they never skimped on the cheese either. Soon enough they were outside the place Brendan had spoken of. He stepped out the jeep and jumped round to open the passenger door for Melody and held his hand out for her to take. Once Melody was outside he closed the door and put the alarm on and led her into the open plan pizzeria. It was mostly an outdoor restaurant, it didn’t have any doors or windows. You could get away with open plan restaurants in Nevada because they seldom had a temperature much lower than seventy. Even when it was raining it was still very warm. He turned to Melody, “So, d’ya wanna share a twelve inch pizza an’ jus’ get the same one, triple cheese? Or d’ya wanna have a smaller one to yerself an’ I can get somethin’ else I like?”

Melody nodded slightly at Brendan's reply about her niece and nephew coming before Christmas. It would be nice to see them, and even get them to meet her current boyfriend, who might turn into something more. Just the thought of that was making her feel all giddy all of a sudden. She didn't know if it was the bump to the head or what, but just thinking about Brendan that way was nice. Melody gave Brendan a small smile, when he said he regretted letting her go all those years ago. "It's okay Brendan. You were in a relationship at the time, and really I was happy to be friends back then. There was no one else who would look out for me, and you were that person. But still glad that we met, and those hidden feelings were eventually evident for you, and me also." She sighed deeply as Brendan wrapped her in the hug, listening to those words. Melody tried to hold back her smile, at what Brendan said to her mention of looking out for the grey. But it was too much, and she smiled, and began to giggle. "Yes. But you will look handsome no matter what you look like." After saying that she felt her cheeks go a bit hot, shaking her head a little, though she had to stop that action, as it was not doing her head any good. **** 2 hours later **** "Well..." was all Melody got out, before Brendan played up on what he said. She laughed a little, and raised an eyebrow at him. "No, not intentionally." Melody laughed more, and then smiled warmly at Brendan when he added more. "Thanks Brendan." **** 1 1/2 hours later **** Melody wrapped her arms around Brendan, giving him a big smile. "Sounds great. And more than up for it." Actually she was rather starving, and could eat a lot. Melody got into Brendan's jeep, then he drove them in the direction of the pizza place. Just thinking of food was making her stomach grumble, and she hoped that Brendan didn't hear it. Soon enough they were there, and Brendan opened the door for her to get out, and she took his hand with ease. Brendan than let her towards the pizzeria. As they got closer and entered, all Melody could do was look around. She didn't normally buy take away food, but she wondered how she had missed this place. It seemed quite a nice place. Brendan than asked her what she wanted. If her stomache was anything to go buy, she could eat a lot right then. "Well why don't we just get two twelve inches? One with a lot of cheesse, and then one of your choice. I eat anything, and could eat anything right now. Starving." Melody smiled at Brendan, and waited for him to answer. The aroma of the pizzeria was amazing, and was making Melody's mouth water. She couldn't wait to dig into the pizza right there and then, but knew she had to wait. {ooc: sorry didnt know what else to say. didn't know if you had anything else planned for them, as really she isn't the one driving lol}

When Brendan had said he regretted letting her go all those years ago, he nodded his head and gave her a warm smile as she responded saying that it was alright, he had been in a relationship back then and she was happy to be a friend. “Well, when ya put it like tha’, maybe it’s best we were only friends back then, migh’ not be together now otherwise.” Everything usually did happen for a reason and if they were only destined to have been something more back then they might have split up ages ago. It was definitely better like this. “An’ righ’ now it feels so good I don’ ever wan’ it go away.” Brendan couldn’t help but smile deeply at Melody’s further comment about him possibly going grey, “Ya think? Tha’s real nice of ya to say so Precious, d’ya reckon I’ll be a distinguished fella with grey hair?” He continued to tease and then followed it with a wink and chuckle. He was so glad he had bumped into Melody earlier; he was having so much fun, and something he hadn’t had for a while. He just hoped that this would be it this time. He wasn’t going to put Libby through meeting yet another woman if this relationship with Melody didn’t work out, but he really couldn’t see anything going wrong this time. **** 3 ½ hours later **** When Melody said it sounded great and she was more than up for it, he grinned at her, “Good, am kinda starvin’ maself as well now.” They made their way to Brendan’s jeep and he soon had them at the pizzeria he had been speaking about earlier. Brendan was soon asking Melody if she wanted to share a pizza but she commented about him getting two twelve inch pizzas, one with a lot of cheese and one of his choice, because she could eat anything and was rather hungry. “Yeah alrigh’ then.” He replied and grinned as he walked up to the counter and was served right away. “I’ll have a twelve inch quadruple cheese pizza please, an’ a twelve inch ham an’ chicken with extra cheese thanks.” The assistant smiled at Brendan, “Sure, won’t be too long.” Brendan then made his way over to one of the tables and sat down and beckoned with his hand for Melody to do the same thing. “I used to come here a lot after work, an’ jus’ relax in the evenin’ sun with a pizza. This place is awesome in the height of summer ya know.” The pizzas never usually took too long to be cooked because the bases they used were thin and crispy and all the toppings of meat were already cooked, so it was sometimes more of less a case of them just being heated up. Then Brendan thought of something, not too sure where it came from exactly but knowing he had to ask the question. “Where’s the one place in the whole world ya’ve always wanted to go?” Maybe he was thinking ahead, who knew, but it was just a way to spark up some new conversation and a way of getting to know a little fact that he might not know about her already. He wanted to be able to surprise Melody, he had already started earlier that day, but he planned to carry on the way he had started and he promised he would make up for the lack of surprises during their school years. It was at that point the assistant shouted that their pizzas were ready. Brendan stood up and took the boxes from the assistant, handed over the money for the cost and with a smile he told the assistant to keep the change. “Alrigh’, let’s get these home, cause the smell of them is makin’ me more hungry than I thought I was.” Brendan chuckled and carrying the pizza boxes in one hand in the crook of his arm to keep them upright, he took Melody’s hand in his other and walked her back to his jeep. He opened the door for Melody and once she was inside, he placed the pizzas on the backseat carefully and then jumped round to the driver’s side and once again they were soon on their way, back to Brendan’s home. It didn’t take long for them to get back and Brendan soon had the both of them inside, and the pizzas set on the lounge coffee table, “Anythin’ ya wanna drink in particular Precious?” He asked as he made his way into the kitchen and retrieved a couple of glasses, he also grabbed a bottle of beer for himself and made his way back into the living room. Once he got Melody’s reply, he got what she asked for and soon he was sitting down on the sofa. “Ya wanna watch a movie, or jus’ sit an’ listen to some music gently while we’re eatin’? I’m easy either way?” {ooc - it's probably not the best, but at least I got them back to Brendan's house - not sure where we can go from here, unless you want to maybe get a new thread started and move them on a bit - up to you really.}
