16th November 2009 Hailey sat around outside the school, waiting for Nick to come out. She had been given an early mark in her last class - Music - and she was not complaining, even if that was her favourite class. On the way out of the school, she texted Nick, to let him know that she would be waiting under the tree. The very tree that they had shared their first kiss, five months ago, at the school dance. That was the most magical night, and not one that Hailey would ever forget, as she had made a complete fool of herself, when her ability of phasing came into effect. It is one night she would definately not forget as long as she lived. She opened her bag, and looked at her homework for that night. There was just an assignment that she had to complete for English, but it wouldn't be too bad. Hailey just had to watch Romeo and Juliet. Just thinking about watching it, made her mind wander to Nick. That night, when he picked he up for the dance was just heart stopping. She had been so nervous, not really knowing why as they were best friends. But these things always happen when you are close to your best friend. You just realised that you are meant to be more than friends. Just then Hailey had the best idea. She would invite Nick over to watch the movie with her. But then, how much ofthe movie would be really see when he was there to distract her. Who cares, thought Hailey, I can always watch it later again. She just wanted to see Nick, as she had been busy all week with rehearsing for the school musical, and now she had some free time, she was going to multitask as much as she could.

It had been quite some time since that night of the dance when Nick and Hailey had finally admitted their true feelings for each other. Nick hadn't looked back since, Hailey was his best friend, and now she was his girlfriend. For Nick it was like a natural progression and the fact that they were friends first made a huge difference in Nick's eyes. They were just teenagers, but Nick knew how he felt about Hailey, and maybe there would come a time when either of them would think it was time to move on, but right now, Nick couldn't look passed Hailey; he couldn't see himself with anybody else, ever.
When Nick was finished his last class, he soon heard his phone go off, and he knew right away it was a text from Hailey; he had a tone assigned for Hailey’s incoming calls and texts, so he always knew without looking who was calling him or sending him a text. The text said she would be waiting for him under the tree, the same tree where they had shared their first kiss, even if it had gone a bit wrong when Hailey’s ability got in the way briefly. Naturally Nick text her right back saying he would be there soon as he had just got out of class.
He soon made his way over to the tree in question and sat down next to Hailey. “Hey, how was school for the day?” He asked her this simply because they didn’t always share the same classes even though they were in the same year at school. “Mine was alright, although I still find it bloody weird to be at school at this age when you can leave at sixteen in the UK.” He laughed then, he actually didn’t mind being at school, not when it meant he could spend more time with Hailey, which of course he had done, ever since the night of the school dance, five months ago. Sometimes he still found it difficult to believe they had been dating that long now.
“Well, for once I have very little homework, so do you have anything planned for later?” Nick asked giving her a smile and absentmindedly tucking a strand of her curls behind her ear. He loved her hair, he quite often enjoyed just playing with the back of her neck, tickling and massaging it slightly as his fingers would ruffle with the hair at the nape of her neck. If she didn’t have anything planned then he might suggest something himself, although he wasn’t sure what.

After Hailey sent that text to Nick, he sent one back, saying he would be there soon as he got out of class. She smiled, then put her phone back in her bag. It wasn't that long to wait, but sometimes when it came to Nick, Hailey couldn't wait to see him. Sure they saw each other during lunch, and the occassional walk by when they were in between classes, but just spending time together was important to Hailey, and she knew that they didn't always get that.
Hailey had been lost in thought about having Nick there to watch the movie with her, when he came over to her, and sat down, asking how her day was. She smiled brightly at him, giving him a quick kiss. Hailey was about to answer, when Nick commented on his own day, but really he didn't say much about it, only talking about how weird it was to come to school at his age. When he laughed, she let out a bit of a giggle, shaking her head. "And you keep telling me that, but still loving here you say it in your accent." It was true, that accent was one of the things she loved about Nick. "My day was good, but the day ended really well when we got out early from music, even though I love that class." Hailey grabbed a hold of Nick's hand, then had to add, "And there are no rehersals for the musical this afternoon, so that is a bonus, because I have missed seeing you in the afternoons."
Nick then said that he had little homework, and asked if she had anything planned for later. Hailey then felt Nick tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear, which made her give him a warm smile. "Well, I have to watch Romeo and Juliet for English, so I can start this assignment. So do you want to come over and watch it with me?" Hailey looked at him, with a bigger smile on her face, and waited on baited breath for his answer, hoping that he would say yes. She could really put it off, but she knew that if she did, she would never get it watched.

Nick kept forgetting how often he told Hailey how weird it was to be at school at his age when he was so used to the UK schools where you could leave at sixteen if you wanted. So when Hailey spoke saying he kept telling her that but how she loved the way he said it, he grinned at her. He didn’t think it was just the accent, he had a feeling it was some of the words he used as well, sometimes he would forget he was no longer in England, and he would say words such as bloody, slag and wanker, and all the Americans would be looking at him with a raised eyebrow and then he would have to go into a great lengthy explanation about what he had just said and what it meant, and then they would walk off, laughing telling him they would have to try and remember that one. “You know, I don’t think it’s just my accent you like hearing when I say it, I think you like hearing the word bloody, because it’s a great typical British word, most people overseas love hearing it.” He laughed then, and waited for Hailey to tell him about her day, he continued to smile as she spoke and nodded his head in several places, “Well I’m glad you were happy to get away early from your class, even if it is one you love.” Hailey then took his hand, and she began to talk again saying there were no rehearsals for the musical and she had missed seeing him. He squeezed her hand gently, “Well I’ve missed you in the afternoons too, so I’m bloody happy.” He winked at her, because he had said that word again. Nick had then asked Hailey if she had anything planned, as he had little homework, he wondered if they might be able to spend a bit of time together. She soon told him she had to watch Romeo & Juliet for her assignment and would he watch it with her. Nick being Nick and a bit of an idiot at times, got up from the bench and bent down on his knee still holding her one hand and then in the thickest and most polite English voice he said, “What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” Nick had already watched Romeo and Juliet for an English assignment when he was back in the UK and he had loved the movie. He then got back up off his knee, still holding her hand, “I would love to watch it with you Hailey, when I had to watch it for an assignment back at my school in England, I had nobody to watch it with.” It was the perfect movie for the young couple to watch together. It was at that point Nick went into his pocket and pulled out a small box, and turned to her with a warm smile on his face. “I was passing by a jeweller the other day and when I saw this in the window, it made me think of you immediately, and I just had to buy it for you, I hope you like it.” He then handed her over the small box which contained a silver ring with a heart and small diamond chip gems. He waited for her to open the box in anticipation with a constant smile on his face; he really hoped she liked it.

Hailey could only smirk and shake her head, when Nick made that comment about his accent, and the true reason she apparently liked hearing it. "Hmm, maybe, Nick. Maybe." She then just laughed a little then, knowing that maybe that was it as well. But she did love accents, and his she loved. Hailey told him about her day, and Nick replied, and smiled, when he knew about her most favourite class. Well really, it made sense, what with her being in the choir and in the last few school musicals. It would make sense to anyone that knew Hailey, and Nick sure did.
Hailey had then took Nick's hand, stating that she had no rehersals for the musical that afternoon, and had missed seeing him. She had to laughed a little then, when Nick used the word 'bloody' in his sentence. Now it was going to be in her mind now, about what he said. Hailey hadn't thought about it till now, and now it was going to be sitting in the back of her mind all the time. "Well I am happy too."
Once Nick knew that Hailey wanted him to sit with her to watch Romeo and Juliet, she frowned at him, when he got up. "Sorry if I..." Then she watched Nick get down on one knee, and still holding her hand said something that she thought she recognised. Then it hit her, he was quoting Romeo and Juliet. Hailey smiled at Nick, as he got up, and she looked around to notice people looking, who had obviously just gotten out of school. She hadn't even noticed the siren go off to say that it was officially the end of the school day.
Nick finally spoke, telling her that he would love to watch it with her. He also added that when he had to watch it back in England, he didn't have anyone to watch it with. "Well let me be the first person to watch it officially with you then." She couldn't wait to just snuggle with Nick in the lounge room, or maybe this was the sort of movie that you would watch in your room. Nick had been in her room, but never to watch a movie. She would worry about that when they got back to her place.
Just when Hailey was about to suggest heading off to go and watch it, Nick pulled out a small box, and spoke about passing a jeweller, and buying her something. Hailey smiled at Nick warmly. "You didn't have to do that. Thank you Nick." He handed her the box, which she opened slowly, and gasped a little when she saw the ring inside. Hailey looked up at Nick, smiling brightly at him. "I love it Nick. Would you do the honours of putting it on my finger." She held out her right hand, and waited for him to put it on her finger.
Once it was on, Haiely wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him on the lips. Once they parted, she held her hand up to look at the ring. "It is just gorgeous Nick. Thanks again." She couldn't honestly wait to show her mum what Nick had gotten here. It was her official piece of jewellery from her first real relationship. Hailey stood up, then grabbed her bag, flinging it over her shoulder. "Let's go." She then grabbed a hold of Nick's hand, leading him towards the parking lot where his car was parked.

Nick had to laugh along with Hailey after his comment about her liking the word bloody and not just his accent. It was certainly true that most non British people loved hearing the Brits use their typical British words. He remembered when he had gone to a Convention back in England and a couple of the actors from the television show Angel remarked on how they loved the words slags and slappers, and they were going to take the words home to use. They had then used the very words when a photo shoot was called for one of the other stars during their talk and began shouting ‘all slags and slappers to the back of the hall please.’ It was funny as hell, a slow smile spread over Nick’s face as he thought about it.
Hailey had then told Nick she had no rehearsals and would be able to spend more time with him. He had remarked on how bloody happy he was, and he could only smile warmly at Hailey when she said she was happy too. Hailey had then told him she wanted him to watch Romeo and Juliet with her he had stood up, not even noticing the frown on her face, but noticed she was apologising. He grinned at her, “Nothing to apologise for, watch.” He then soon bent down on knee and began reciting a line from the movie. He got a smile from her, so he smiled back; at least he got the desired effect. As he stood up he noticed that some people were looking, but he just waved at them, and they soon walked off shaking their heads.
Nick had then said he would love to watch it with her, as he had nobody to watch it with when he had to watch it back in England. When Hailey said he was to let her be the first person to watch it with him officially, he grinned at her. “Sounds good to me Hailey, sounds good to me.” Really, what better a movie to watch with your girlfriend than Romeo and Juliet? He figured it would be nice to just snuggle up close to Hailey as they both watched it, maybe he would enjoy it better this time around as well. When he had to watch it alone he found it quite boring, and really only watched it as he knew he would have to answer questions on it. Nick had then given Hailey the ring he had bought her when he was walking past a jeweller one day.
She smiled at him and then told him he didn’t have to do that but thanked him. “I know I didn’t have to do it, but I saw it and instantly thought of you, we’ve been together for a while now, it’s good to treat you to something.” He then waited for Hailey to open the box and find out what she thought of the gift he had bought her. The smile he soon got from her was enough for him to know that she loved it, and then came the words. “I’m glad you love it.” He felt really good that he had been able to get something Hailey would like; after all, guys and jewellery buying didn’t always go hand in hand. Hailey then asked if he would do the honours and put the ring on her finger holding out her right hand. Nick grinned, “Sure, I’d love to.” He took the ring out of the box and slipped it onto her middle finger and then kissed the back of her hand afterward. “I knew it would look gorgeous on you, but then you’re gorgeous anyway.” Nick was about to kiss her, but Hailey got in first, by wrapping her arms around his neck and placed her lips on his. He kissed her back gently but lingering.
When they parted from the kiss, Nick watched as Hailey held her hand up looking at the ring on it and then commented that it was just gorgeous and thanked him again. “You’re welcome, I’m just glad I got you something you would like.” Hailey then stood up and grabbed her bag and let’s go after she grabbed Nick’s hand. He then walked her toward his car. It wasn’t anything too fancy, he couldn’t afford a flash car, but it worked and it got him from A to B as they say. Once he reached the car and pressed the button to release the alarm, he immediately opened the passenger door for Hailey, and when she was safely inside he made his way to the driver’s side. He threw his bag into the backseat and started the engine. Soon he was leaving the grounds of the school and Nick glanced at Hailey quickly, “Is there anything you want us to get on the way there? Like ice cream or anything, or have you got everything you need and just want to get straight home?”

Hailey liked that Nick wanted to watch the movie with her, and she was also doubly happy that it would be the first time that either of them was to watch it with someone. And she didn't count the little bits that they watched in class. After that, Nick gave her the ring. She had told that he didn't have to, but he commented, stating that he knew that but he thought of her when he saw it, adding that they had been together for a while now. It was true. Hailey had never expected her first ever relationship to go this long. But she was in love with Nick, and that was all that mattered to her right now.
He had soon put it on her middle finger, and then kissed the back of her hand, which made her smile and blush slightly. Nick commented about how the ring looked, adding that she was already gorgeous. The blush on her face gotten stronger, she could feel it, and it would have made her face stand out, due to her fair skin and blonde hair. She hated when it happened, and knew it was out in full force right then. She had then moved in to share a kiss with Nick, wrapping her arms around his neck. Once they parted, Hailey's hands went to her cheeks then. "I am sure I look like a beetroot right now."
She then looked at and admired the ring again, commented on how it looked. Once she was all set to go, she grabbed for Nick's hand, and followed him towards his car in the school carpark. They soon reached his car, and he held open the passenger door for her. Hailey got in, and placed her bag at her feet. Reaching for the seatbelt, she buckled herself in. Once Nick was in the driver's side, he asked her if she wanted anything before they got back to her place. "Um. Well I think popcorn might be in order for a movie, don't you think? I have ice cream at home, so no need for that."
Just thinking of popcorn made her mouth water. It was the best food to have when watching a movie. Hailey then waited for Nick to start the car. As they headed in the direction of her house, she pointed out a store on the way. "We need to go there for the popcorn. They sell the stuff that they pop themselves." She waited to see if he wanted the fresh stuff or the packaged stuff. Hailey wasn't fussed but she knew that that shop's popcorn was the best.

Nick saw that blush of Hailey’s after he had said she was gorgeous, but he was only telling her the truth, she was gorgeous. He was madly in love with Hailey and even if it was his first proper relationship he just had this feeling he would never be with anyone else. Just thinking about being with someone else was making him feel sick. After they had shared a kiss, Nick watched as her hands went to her face and then commented that she must look like a beetroot then. Nick just shook his head smiling; all he could see was his beautiful girlfriend. “You do look a bit more pink than usual, but you’re still my beautiful Hailey and I’m sorry if I’m making you blush but I can’t say anything different because then I’d be lying and I bloody hate liars.” He laughed out a little then. Nick never really thought he had an accent until he heard himself speaking in America, surrounded by all the American voices whenever he spoke he was more aware of his own accent and it was always so strong and stood out.
After they were both in the car Nick had turned to Hailey and asked if there was anything she might like to get before going home. Nick smiled when Hailey commented about getting some popcorn as there was ice cream at home already. “Popcorn it is then.” Nick replied as he continued on his way toward Hailey’s home. After a short while Hailey pointed out a store saying that they needed to go there for the popcorn. Nick looked in the direction of where Hailey was pointing. He nodded his head, “Sounds good to me.” He then checked his mirror and pulled into the side of the kerb, they wouldn’t be able to park there for too long, but then they wouldn’t be that long. He got out the car, and opened the passenger door for Hailey to get out and closed and locked the door behind her. He then took her hand and walked her into the store.
It was a store Nick hadn’t frequented often so he had no idea where in the store the popcorn was, he turned to Hailey with a smile, “Can you lead the way please Hailey, I’ve not been in this store too often, so have no idea where anything is.” He hoped there wasn’t a big queue to get served because he just wanted to get back to Hailey’s and snuggle up with her to watch the movie. He loved nothing better than to just sit and snuggle up to her.

Just hearing that she was more pink than normal, made her feel her face grow even hotter. Then he continued to compliment her, and Hailey wanted to just crawl into a hole and hide. But Hailey loved Nick, and knew that he was indeed saying the things she loved him to say. Though sometimes public displays of affection kind of made her feel uncomfortable, but she knew she had to get over that. She had to when it came to Nick. Hailey had to just grow up and be herself, no matter the situation or location. They were soon at the store where Hailey had said to stop, and she smiled at Nick opened her door, and they headed inside. The feel of his hand in her own was nice, and she let that thought linger in her mind as they walked inside. Nick asked her to lead the way, and Hailey was fine with that. "It's not too far actually as it is rather popular." Hailey led the way and soon they were in front of the machine that popped the corn. It looked rather full, so that indicated to Hailey that it has just popped some fresh popcorn. "Good, looks like it will be fresh for us to eat." She grabbed a bag from the side of the machine, and a scoop, and began to shovel it into the bag. Once it was full, she closed it with her hand, then headed to the counter. The person behind sealed the bag and Hailey handed over the money. She thanked them, then headed outside. Once in the car, they headed back to Hailey's house. She was getting kind of excited at the prospect of sharing such a movie like Romeo and Juliet with Nick. Hailey had seen the version with Leonardo DiCaprio, but this nineteen sixty-eight version was the one that their teacher had told them to watch. Luckily it was out at the local video store for her to have for a whole week. They were soon at her house, and Hailey jumped out before Nick could even get to her door to open it. She grabbed her bag, and the bag of popcorn, and headed towards the door of her house. Fumbling for the keys in the front of her bag, Hailey soon had them out and in the lock of the door. Opening it, she held it open for Nick to enter, then she closed and locked the door behind them. "Go up to my room, and I will be there in a sec, okay?" Hailey dumped her school back in the lounge room, and headed into the kitchen to grab a bowl for the popcorn and a couple of bottles of soft drink. Soon enough she was up in her room, and handed Nick a drink, and placed the bowl of popcorn on her bed. Hailey put in the dvd, and then grabbed the remote, before laying back on her bed. Before she started the movie, she turned to Nick. "Be warned. I might get a bit teary eyed." She gave him a smile, then started the movie. **** 2 hours later **** It was up to the part where Romeo was coming into where Juliet's body was laid to rest, and Hailey felt her heart was going out to him. She let out a sigh, and continued to watch. Hailey just wanted to scream at him that she was okay and that she wasn't dead. But she then shook her head slightly at what she had just thought. As the scene went on, Hailey could tell she might just start getting all teary eyed, like she had warned Nick. Then it started, when Romeo started to cry over Juliet. Hailey's hand went up to her mouth, and she felt a tear roll down her face. Without thinking, she grabbed a hold of Nick's hand with her free hand, and just held it, like it was their last time together. The tears fell a bit more now, watching Romeo take the poison. Seeing him go for her hand just made Hailey cry more. Soon she began to wipe them away, just as Juliet wakes up. Then she was alone with Romeo, and she soon knew that she had to die along with Romeo, so Hailey gasped as she stabbed herself. With that, Hailey buried her face in Nick's chest, and cried, feeling silly. {ooc - I was watching parts of the 1968 version of R & J, and thought in some instances that the guy who was playing Romeo looked a lot like Zac Efron lol - and watched this as I wrote those last two paragraphs - www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ro8WteSPO4k}

When Nick had told Hailey that she was indeed pinker than normal he realised he should have just kept his mouth closed as she seemed to get even more embarrassed. Nick was such a sweet guy though and he simply couldn’t help but compliment his girlfriend. Maybe Nick would have to try and learn to hold back on the compliments but it was a very difficult thing to do because Hailey was so easy to compliment. Once they were inside the store Nick asked Hailey to lead the way and he gave her a warm smile when she spoke to him saying it wasn’t far as it was rather popular. “Well, I can’t wait to try it then, if it’s that popular.” If he liked it then Nick was going to have to remember this place and get it more often. Soon they were standing in front of a machine which was full of popcorn, Nick had never seen anything like this before, probably because he was used to the UK where they never had anything fancy like that. “That’s a bloody cool contraption.” He said and laughed a little, Hailey then spoke saying it was good as it looked fresh for them. “It certainly smells good, so I can only imagine it tastes good.” Nick then watched as Hailey grabbed a bag and the scoop and started scooping in some of the popcorn. Soon enough they were at the cash desk and Hailey paid for the popcorn and they were making their way back out to Nick’s car. They then made their way to Hailey’s house and when Nick pulled up outside he didn’t even get a chance to open the passenger door, Hailey had already jumped out of the car. Nick chuckled a little, “Desperate to start watching the movie then Hailey?” He asked shaking his head and laughing a little again. He then followed her up to the door and soon enough she was inside and holding the door open for Nick. Once he was inside Hailey closed the door and locked it and told him to go up to her room and she’d be there in a sec. Nick nodded his head, “Sure Hailey.” He then made his way to her bedroom and sat on the edge of her bed waiting for Hailey. It didn’t take too long before Hailey was in the room also with the popcorn in a bowl and a couple of bottles of soft drink. Hailey gave him one of the bottles; he smiled at her, “Thanks Hailey.” She then sat the bowl on her bed and put in the DVD and then grabbed the remote before laying back on her bed and soon the movie was beginning to play. Hailey then spoke to him before the movie actually started warning him that she may get a bit teary eyed. Nick smiled at her, “Don’t worry about it, I am sure I will cope with it.” *** 2 hours later *** When it got the part of the movie when Romeo comes into the room to see Juliet’s body laid out Nick heard Hailey sigh, and he automatically put his arm around her and hugged her close to him. Nick was actually finding it all a bit emotional himself, just thinking if that was his Hailey he saw lying there like that how it would make him feel. He never wanted to lose Hailey. Some might look on the both of them as just teenagers in love and alright, maybe they were, but Nick honestly felt like Hailey might be the one he would want to spend the rest of his life with. After all, not all teenage romances die, some do make it. He had seen it in his mum’s magazines, about teenage sweethearts and still being happily married sixty years down the line. Nick let out a sigh of his own just thinking like that. The next scene was when Romeo started to cry over Juliet, and Nick saw Hailey’s hand go up to her mouth. Nick’s own eyes were beginning to mist over, he wasn’t completely heartless after all and he knew how he would feel if he was in Romeo’s position right then. The final scene when Juliet kills herself to be with her Romeo, Hailey couldn’t take it anymore and she soon buried her head into Nick’s chest crying her heart out. Nick just wrapped his other arm around her, and kissed her on the head. He had tears in his eyes also, but being a guy was able to control them a bit better and stop them falling. “It’s alright Hailey, you don’t have to worry, nothing like that is going to happen to us.” He wasn’t being horrible by saying that, maybe just trying to lighten the mood a little. He sniffed a few times; he didn’t want Hailey to think he was heartless because it had gotten to him, when in actual fact it had. “It’s very much a powerful love story, it shows how strong teenage love can be.” He then gently rested his chin on her head, still keeping his arms wrapped around her.

Hailey gave Nick a smile, when he commented on the machine for the popcorn. "I know. Normally only the movie theatres have them, but this guy got it in." After she had commented about the popcorn looking fresh, Hailey began to fill a bag with the popcorn. After paying for it, they were off in Nick's car, heading off to her place. Hailey hadn't meant to just jump out of the car, but she gave him a cheeky grin. "Maybe." Once inside, Hailey had gotten the drinks, and headed up to her room with them and the popcorn. Hailey handed one bottle to Nick, who thanked her, then she put in the dvd. She then warmed him basically of how she might get with the movie. Hailey grinned. "Okay. Just warning you." **** 2 hours later **** Hailey felt Nick's arm go around her, hugging her to him. Her hand went straight to the hand hanging over her shoulder, and just interlaced her fingers with his. After a few seconds, Hailey heard Nick let out a sigh, and she turned to look at him for a second, wondering what he was thinking about. She then snuggled into him more. Just seeing Juliet kill herself for the one she loved just made the whole thing upsetting, and Hailey had buried her head into Nick's chest, crying. She felt silly, as it was only a movie, but what if it was based on something that happened in real life? Just thinking if it happened between her and Nick, made her cry all the more. She felt comforted though now, with Nick cmpletely embracing her. As Hailey tried to calm herself down, soon feeling Nick kiss her head. She continued to try and calm herself down, letting out deep breaths, and soon rested her hand on his chest, removing her face a little. She listened to what Nick said next, and attempted to nod in acknowledgement. Hailey knew that it wouldn't happened to them personally. The story was based in a time long ago, and these days it wasn't heard of. So Hailey began to wipe at her face, but kept herself close to Nick. He then commented about it being a very powerful love story, and how strong teenage love can be. Hailey slowly moved a bit, so that she was laying beside Nick, but still wanting him to keep at least one arm around her. She looked at him, and then looked at the credits which were now up on the screen. "And they were younger than we were, I think. She was meant to be like thirteen or something. Terrible to think that she never got to experience more in her life." Just saying that got her thinking about a lot of things, and wasn't sure any of it should be said now. Though she had been thinking a lot lately about her and Nick. Hailey sat a bit then, and turned to look at Nick, as she wiped the rest of the tears from her face and eyes. "I, um, have been doing a lot of thinking of late, more so over the last couple of days. I suppose the movie has a lot to do with it." Hailey began to fiddle around with the right that Nick had given her, and she soon let out a breath to will herself to keep going. "We have been going out for a while now. And you can say no to what I have been considering, and normally I wouldn't be this forward. I just feel..." Hailey finally got the courage to look at Nick, looking into those blue eyes of his. "... I feel that I might be ready for the next step in our relationship."

After Hailey said that normally only the movie theatres have the popcorn machines but this guy had got one in especially he couldn’t help but grin. It was pretty wonderful to be able to get the fresh popcorn you usually get at the cinema to eat in the comfort of your own home. Once they had left the shop Nick had them on their way to Hailey’s house, and had to laugh at the speed of her getting out the car and had commented. He saw that cheeky grin of hers and couldn’t help but smile back and chuckled some more when she replied saying that maybe she was in a desperate hurry to start watching the movie. Once they were in her room getting ready to start watching the movie Hailey had said she might get a bit teary, after he had commented she replied saying she was only warning him. He just gave her a smile, no point in repeating what he had already said. *** 2 hours later*** When Nick had put his arm around Hailey, he soon felt her hand holding his and interlacing their fingers together, it made Nick smile. He loved Hailey so much, loved being close to her, and couldn’t wait until they could be more intimate together. Back in his own home country they could have been intimate now, but he knew that you had to be at least eighteen to have a sexual relationship in the States and yet the way he felt for Hailey, it was so strong it made him wonder if he would want to break the rules if Hailey ever hinted at taking things further. When Nick had sighed thinking about how some teenage sweethearts got married and remained happy together sixty years down the line, he saw Hailey look at him and it did make him wonder if he should tell her, but they were still watching the movie, and she soon just snuggled up to him so he decided to leave it, for now. Once the final scene where Juliet killed herself was over, Hailey soon threw herself into his chest sobbing her heart out. This just made Nick wrap both his arms around her, hugging her tightly to him and kissing the top of her head until she began to calm down. She soon began to calm down a little and Nick felt her hand on his chest, Nick had soon said that she didn’t have to worry that nothing like that would ever happen to them, he had just been trying to lighten the mood, but it had gotten to Nick as much as it had Hailey, he was just a little better at dealing with his emotions than Hailey was. After Nick’s comment about it being a powerful love story he soon felt Hailey shift slightly, but still remaining close enough for his one arm to be around her. She looked at him and then commented about how they were younger than they were, that Juliet was only supposed to have been about thirteen or something. Even Nick had been surprised when he first realised how young Romeo and Juliet were meant to have been. “I know, they didn’t look that young either.” Then again he and Hailey probably didn’t look as young as they were either to some people. Listening to Hailey continue saying about how Juliet never got to experience more in her life, he gave her a sad smile. “Yeah, that is sad.” He would just have to make sure things were different for them. Soon Hailey sat up a bit and he saw her wipe at her eyes and then she began to talk. Nick listened carefully as she said she had been doing a lot of thinking recently and then added that she supposed the movie had a lot to do with it as she played about with the ring he had given her earlier. This made him wonder what was on her mind, and then his own thoughts came back into his head from earlier and wondered if that’s what indeed had been praying on her mind also. He found out soon enough, as he continued to let her speak without trying to interrupt her. When the final few words had escaped her lips it was just as he had thought it was going to be. He gulped slightly, because he too had been thinking the same thing, but knew that given their current ages, it was technically wrong for them to take things that far. He took both her hands in his own gently and began caressing the back of her hands with his thumbs and then he looked into her eyes seriously before replying. “Hailey, I had been thinking the same thing myself earlier, but you know that if we did, it would be wrong. In the UK where I’m from, you can have an intimate relationship from the age of sixteen, but I read about it here, and in the States you have to be eighteen to have an intimate relationship. I would love to take ours to the next level, you have no idea how much I would love to do that with you, but I don’t want to break the rules, unless you feel that it’s something you really, really want to do and there’s a way we can get away with it, but to be honest Hailey, I respect you too much to take you for granted when I know it would actually be wrong for us.” He hoped what he had said wouldn’t get Hailey upset, because that wasn’t his intention, but he had to think of the laws in America, he really didn’t want to end up in prison for having sex with a minor, as that’s what it would be classed as, although, would they do that if both parties were willing? He wasn’t sure, but instead he just kept gazing into Hailey’s eyes waiting on an answer from her.

Hailey was never this forward, but she felt that Nick had a right to know what she had been thinking about lately. She loved him that much to even consider what she had been thinking. Hailey normally spoke to her mum mostly about things, but she felt that she was grown up enough to speak about this 'next step' with her boyfriend, with Nick. Hailey wouldn't push it if he didn't want to, but she didn't honestly know how Nick would react. He seemed different than the other boys.
After she had told him what she had been thinking, Hailey didn't hear any words from Nick, and just thought that she had said the wrong thing. She let out a breath, but then felt Nick take her hands in his own. All Hailey could do was look down and just watch him caress her hands. It felt so nice, and she slowly looked up at him, as he spoke. Her heart brighten up, along with her face, as he spoke the first few words. But as he spoke about it being wrong, she felt like her heart sank. Hailey couldn't look at Nick then. She honestly didn't know where to look. So just like the movie, laws were involved, and were going to stop them.
But then when Nick spoke about how he would love to basically have sex with her, Hailey slowly looked up at Nick, hoping that he would say he would. As Nick finished talking, Hailey slowly slipped her hands out of his own, and stood up, facing away from him. She wrapped her arms around herself, not knowing what to say. Hailey had never had an argument with Nick, ever, and she was never one to involve herself in them. But she felt that Nick kind of burst her bubble. It was bad enough that she had been scared to speak of what she was thinking. But now, it seemed that nothing was going to happen.
Hailey soon found her voice, even though it was quiet, and looked down at the ground. "I suppose I will have to take all that as a no." Then from out of no where, Hailey began to cry. She couldn't explain it, and she couldn't stop them. Hailey let out deep breaths, trying to stop them, and soon they started to subside. Hailey wipped at her eyes, and turned to slowly face Nick again. "I'm sorry Nick. I didn't mean to sound like a bitch, which I hope I am not now. I just..." Hailey let out a breath. "A couple of the girls in music class, who I thought I was close to, straight out asked me if we had had sex yet. I tried to get out of it, but they obviously figured out, from how I was answering."
Hailey sat on the bed then, and continued. "But I had honestly been thinking about it way before they even asked me. I love you so much Nick, and I do think I am ready for the next step. You have to believe me. I honestly don't care about the laws. Do you know how many teenagers are actually having sex, and they are younger." Hailey then shook her head. "Now I am trying to pressure you into it. Just forget it. Just forget that I said anything aobut it. Do you want to watch another movie?" Hailey began to get up in order to find another movie, maybe this time a comedy.
{ooc - I have no idea where all that came from, but I am wondering what Nick will say to it all.}

When Nick started to tell Hailey that he would have loved nothing more than to take their relationship to the next level but it would be wrong, he watched as her facial features changed from being happy to being a bit downcast. He didn’t mean to bring her down at all, but he was truly thinking of Hailey and not wanting to take advantage of the situation just because she might have gotten a bit romantic with the movie. Plus he knew it was technically illegal to have sex under eighteen which both of them were, although not by much now. Maybe it wouldn’t really make all that much of a difference.
He was honestly thinking of Hailey’s best interests when he had said no but when she slipped her hands out of his and got up Nick knew that he had said the wrong thing. He hadn’t wanted to fall out with her, or argue, and if they had been in the UK he wouldn’t have questioned it. He was in love with Hailey and he was ready to take the next step. He then heard Hailey speak saying she should take it all as a no. Nick didn’t know what to say, he was about to reply when she began to cry. That wasn’t a good sign; you weren’t supposed to make your girlfriend cry.
He was about to get up off the bed and go to her, when she turned around and began to speak again apologising and saying she didn’t mean to be a bitch which she hoped she wasn’t. Nick just shook his head, “You aren’t a bitch Hailey, bloody hell I’ve had my share of those in the past. You’re the kindest girl I know.” Then Hailey continued to speak talking of other girls in her class. Then she sat on the bed and continued to talk. He just let her get it all out before even trying to say anything else, however it finished up with her saying she was pressuring him now and they were to just forget it.
“Hailey, first of all, you don’t have to do everything your friends are doing, if you were thinking of it just to keep up with them, then that’s wrong for you. But if this is what you really want to do...” He trailed off as he moved to sit beside her he took a hand to lift away some of her hair and he began to kiss her neck softly, and then leaned into her ear to whisper, “...if it’s what you really want to do then I won’t say no, I love you Hailey. I want to be with you. If we were in the UK this wouldn’t even be an issue.” With that Nick began to kiss her neck again with soft gentle kisses as he went along her collarbone and down her arm, ending at her fingertips of her hand. He then looked back into her eyes.
“Just so long as you know I am not pressuring you into this, I’m happy with it going either way, okay?”

Hailey felt bad for the ways was acting. But she felt that maybe Nick didn't love her anymore. Maybe her bringing this suggestion up was going to end their relationship. Hailey didn't want that one little bit. She loved him so much, this is how she was feeling, and he had a right to know. Hailey wasn't one for dramatics, but she soon felt that her tears that she was letting fall were too much, but they had just come on, and she was finding them hard to stop.
After that little bit of drama, Hailey had turned around and apologised, not meaning to be a bitch, hoping she wasn't. Hailey tried to give Nick a smile, which ended up being half a one, when Nick said that she wasn't a bitch at all, and that she was the kindest girl he knew. Again she gave him a sort of smile, then continued to talk. She had been honestly thinking about their relationship a lot lately, and Hailey did feel that she was ready for the next step. Though she hadn't consulted her mother or father for that matter about it, and wondered if she should. But she felt that she could make her own decisions.
Nick then spoke about how she didn't have to do everything her friends were doing. Well, she had no idea what they were doing, if anything of that nature. When Nick said at the end if this is what she really wanted, Hailey went to turn to speak, when she felt him lift her hair up, and kiss her neck. Hailey let out a small gasp, with the feel of his lips on her neck. Her heart began to beat a bit faster, and her breath caught in her throat. Hearing what he was saying, was making her feel that it was going to happen, and it would happen right at this moment.
Once Nick finished whispering in her ear, Hailey was about to reply, when Nick again kissed her neck. This time her hand went to his arm, taking in every touch of his lips on her skin. Each touch of his lips left goosebumps on her skin. Hailey began to feel her head swimming a little with what Nick was doing to her right now. It was nothing like what she was wanting to do, but it was enough to start things stirring.
Soon Nick was looking right into her eyes, and Hailey felt her heart was still beating fast. Nick spoke, and all Hailey could do was nod slowly. But then she found her voice. "I know. And I want to do it with you Nick. More than anything." Hailey then went for the plunge, and kissed Nick.
{ooc - not sure if you want Nick to post right after this or just start the next thread. I have a thread image done already - called Art Of Love}
