Friday 8th January, 2010 It was a Friday evening and pleasantly warm for the time of year but then it rarely got bitterly cold even in the winter in Nevada, which was why Tonya loved the state so much. She had previously met a guy called Lance when she had gone on a shopping trip to New York using the teleportation part of her ability and he was a nice enough guy, down to earth and very romantic which Tonya loved but the fact that she had to teleport to New York anytime she wanted to see him became frustrating and Tonya eventually ended the relationship. On top of that her mom and dad had decided to move back to Canada and Tonya was having none of it. She played the scene out in her head. “I love you guys but it’s too damned cold for me there. Can’t we just stay here please?” Tonya had begged her dad, but he gave her that stern look and shook his head. “I have to move, it’s for my job, and I’m not leaving my only daughter behind.” Tonya then did something she never thought she would ever do, she rebelled, folding her arms and shaking her head. “I’m not going, ya can’t make me and I don’t wanna leave here and you guys know how much I love ma cousin Brendan. I could stay by myself.” Tonya argued, and her mom gave her a sympathetic look. “You’d never be able to look after yourself.” Tonya stood her ground on her little rebellious streak however.
“I could look after myself. I’ll talk to Brendan, he’ll get me a job at the magazine he’s started up, come on guys, I’ve just turned nineteen, am old enough to look after maself.” The funny thing with Tonya when she was annoyed or very excited about something, she always channelled her cousin Brendan, and sometimes she would start talking like him even though she had a Canadian accent more than anything else. Tonya’s mom Evangeline looked at her and then picked up the phone and called Brendan. Five minutes later she had turned to Tonya again, “Alright, I just spoke to Brendan and he says he’ll get you a job at the magazine and that he’ll look out for you. The house is already ours, you will just have to remember to pay the bills, you can stay.” It had been the best day of her life because it meant her parents finally saw her as an adult.So Tonya had just finished her first official week at the magazine as it had taken Brendan about three weeks to get the magazine set up properly and she had loved it, but now she was quite exhausted and hungry. On her walk home she saw a bistro which looked really nice through the window. She took a look at the menu board which was propped up outside and the food sounded lovely and it looked like they had a karaoke machine, which was something Tonya loved doing. She had an exceptional voice and that’s when she saw him. He was tall and strikingly handsome and even from the distance she could see he had the most gorgeous pools of blue eyes. Tonya realised she was in a bit of a trance and snapped herself out of it. Thankfully with it being a diner as well as a bar she knew she would be allowed in. Tonya began looking around and found that not only did they have a karaoke, they also had a piano. Tonya didn’t only have a good singing voice but she was also quite a talented musician and playing the piano was one of the instruments she loved best. It looked as if it was there for anybody to play if they wished, so instead of ordering something to eat even though she was starving she made her way over to the piano and began to play the following piece of music:- Steve’s Theme and as she played she would glance in the direction of the handsome blue eyed, blonde haired guy behind the counter. {ooc – I do not own the rights to the music featured in this post, I borrowed it for my character, and copyright goes to the movie The Last Song.}

The sun was setting over Vegas and Vince flicked the lights on for the outside neon signs. "Spence, you done cleaning that blender yet?" Dakota looked over at her fiancé's younger brother and poked her tongue out at him, grinning at the same time. Spencer sighed and wiped it down one more time before going over to her and wrapping his hands around her neck. "You're lucky your Kale's fiancé, or I would surely strangle you." Dakota giggled and went to serve a customer at the other end of the counter. Spencer smiled and watched her skip along the floor in her pumps. He of course would never strangle her, she was one of his dearest friends. Hell, it was how she and Kale met.
"Hello ladies, how can I help you this evening?" Spencer grinned at the woman and her teenage daughter. The girl turned bright red and spun on the stool. Her mother laughed and rolled her eyes, "Teenage girls eh? Bet you get it all the time." Spencer chuckled and threw his cloth over one shoulder. "You could say that." The teenager spun back around and smiled sweetly at him. "Could I have the organic mushroom burger with a portion of fries and a vanilla milkshake and Han, what do you want?" The girl rested her head in her hands and blinked at Spencer. He coughed uncomfortably and couldn't help but look away as he wrote the order down. "Hannah!" Her mother shouted. Hannah snapped out of it and grabbed the menu, looking at everything extremely carefully. "I'll have the bacon and maple syrup pancakes with scrambled eggs and a strawberry shake." She handed Spencer the menu and attempted to wink.
Spencer, being the complete gentleman he was smiled at her and wrote her order down. "Anything else girls?" The woman shook her head and handed over a fifty dollar bill, "Keep the change blue eyes." He grinned at her and cashed up, keeping the $15 change and placing it in his tip jar. He could hear the daughter shouting at her mother, "MOM YOU FLIRTED WITH HIM! HOW COULD YOU? THAT'S MY FUTURE HUSBAND." Dakota burst out laughing right behind Spence and patted him on the back. "That's what, eleven marriage proposals in the past two weeks?" Spencer sighed, "I wish they wouldn't, it's embarrassing." He looked down at Dakota and sighed again. She smiled up at him, her shiny red lips glistening brightly. "Shouldn't be embarrassed Spence, you're gorgeous, any girl would be lucky to have you."
Just as Dakota spoke those words, Spencer saw a small brunette walk in. She was possibly the most beautiful person he had ever seen. She couldn't be older than twenty, and had plump lips and gorgeous blue eyes. He gulped loudly. Dakota spun on one foot and noticed the girl. "Your customer. Hehehe." She laughed and slid down the floor to the other side of the counter again. He noticed her head straight to the piano in Dakota's section, he couldn't help but walk up to the end of the counter and pretend to be cleaning the counter top. Spencer noticed her looking up as she began playing and singing. He smiled at her, tilting his head as she did. She was perfect. "Well ain't she the perfect little picture?" Dakota grinned and rested her arm on Spencer's shoulder. The two of them watched her and listened to her. "She's amazing." Spencer said, his head still tilted. "Better at singing that you that's for damn sure." Dakota giggled again and opened the hatch, she held a cloth and disinfectant spray and began spraying the baby grand piano. Spencer followed her without meaning too and didn't take his eyes of the brunette still singing and playing. As soon as she finished, Dakota stopped spraying and skipped over to her.
"Well darlin', it's good to have some new talent. Ain't that right Spence?" Dakota raised her eyebrows up and down at Spencer while grinning. He nodded, "Uh yeah, miss that was amazing." Dakota rolled her eyes, "Yeah she has a better singing voice than you sure. But no one can beat Apollo's instrumental skills." Dakota winked at him and quickly got away before he could scowl at her. His eyes fell back on the little brunette and he smiled softly, "Can I get you a drink?"

It had been quite a while since Tonya had sat and played at a piano but the minute she began to hit the keys it all came back to her as if she’d never stopped playing. The piece of music she was playing was for a recital she had done during school. She was supposed to attend a college for gifted musicians but she didn’t want to leave Las Vegas so turned the opportunity down. Her father had said she didn’t really need to go because she was talented enough in her own right anyway. She had begun to sing along to the music she was playing even though the piece of music she was playing didn’t have any lyrics she was just putting her own words to the music which she felt fitted, so not only was she showing off her musical talent she was showing off her vocal talent also. Her father was a manager of a group who hailed from Canada and that was why he had to move but before he left he had hinted at taking her on himself, so she could get into a professional singing career but she had refused because she hadn’t wanted a huge fuss made of what she could do.
Tonya was so engrossed in the music she was playing she hadn’t even heard the conversation between the blue eyed guy and the other older girl, when Tonya plays instruments she tends to shut herself off to everything else, however the fact the guy moved over to be nearer to where she was playing hadn’t gone unnoticed by her. When she glanced at him she saw him smiling at her and then tilt his head slightly looking at her, she couldn’t help but give a quick small smile back. Tonya did pick up on what the older girl had said and although Tonya knew she was good she hated being too up herself and a small blush came over her face which only intensified when the guy said she was amazing. That was when the girl began to clean the piano as Tonya was still playing and singing and she noticed the blue eyed guy follow her.
Soon enough the piece of music was finished and naturally Tonya had stopped singing as well and the girl who had been cleaning the piano down spoke to her and complimented her. Tonya blushed again slightly but gave the girl a bright smile. The girl had added in the guy’s name, Spence, probably Spencer thought Tonya; the name seemed to suit him somehow. “That’s real nice of ya to say so.” Tonya replied and then Spence spoke agreeing with the older girl. Tonya looked at him and smiled even more brightly if that was possible, “Thanks.” Then Tonya said something she hadn’t expected herself to say, but she had got such a kick out of playing the piano then, “If ya need someone to play some evenin’s for entertainment, I wouldn’t mind helpin’ ya out.” True she had the intern at the magazine, but the hours weren’t that long and on the days where her shift was shorter at the magazine she could come and play and or sing for them in the evenings.
The girl had then mentioned that Tonya had a better singing voice than Spence but nobody could beat his instrumental skills. This caught Tonya’s interest she looked at him with a grin, “Ya play instruments and all? Piano ain’ the only things I can play ya see.” She was getting a little excited now, talking about what she liked to do and saying it to the handsome blue eyed guy her mixed accent was coming out. She had picked up on the name Apollo but couldn’t get the reference so decided to let it slip. He then turned back to her with a smile and asked if he could get her a drink. “Well I actually came in for somethin’ to eat, but when I saw ya had a piano I couldn’t help myself but to play somethin’.” She got up from the piano then and held her hand out to him, “I’m Tonya Jaime Ford by the way, and it’s real good to meet ya.”
The hunger had sort of left her now, whether it was because she was now mesmerised by the handsome hunk beside her or not, she wasn’t sure, but a drink would be good. Maybe she could opt for a milkshake they were good because they quenched your thirst but they also helped with hunger, so even though she suddenly didn’t feel hungry anymore, the milkshake would hopefully sustain her until she got home a little later. “I’d love a strawberry milkshake please, thanks.” She replied as she made her way to the counter where they had little bar seats for people who wanted to sit at the counter.

Dakota smile at Spencer, her pearly white teeth shimmering in reflection of the grand piano. "Well got ourselves a right little gem here haven't we?" Spencer rolled his eyes and shook his head at her. Dakota unfortunately could read Spencer like an open book, she had been his best friend for over five years and could see when he liked a girl. Not to mention she was in love with Spencer's brother, who knew every little in and out of him. Spencer saw the little smile he gave her and couldn't help but grin uncontrollably. Dakota then complimented the girl and saw her blush, making her feel more mischievous.
"Oh ignore Dakota, she's just happy to see someone as beautiful as her in here." Spencer NEVER said things like that. He coughed abruptly and started cleaning up left over plates at a nearby booth. The girl then offered herself to play evening's for the diner. Spencer turned and his face lit up, what was happening? This feeling was like no other. Dakota saw and continued to grin, "Well darlin' that'd be spectacular. Lemme just go ask Vincent over there." Dakota rolled her eyes and sighed, "Actually... VINCE!" She shouted, startling half the diner. Vince mumbled something Spencer didn't hear and Dakota rolled her eyes again.
Spencer stood looking at the girl with his light blue eyes fixed on her oval shaped face. Dakota mentioned the girl having a better singing voice than him and again Spencer shook his head at her. "Uh yeah I play instruments, could say I'm a natural." Dakota nudged him, "Oh he's a natural alright!" She added, patting his shoulder which was much further above her. Spencer listened to the girl and smiled, "Sure glad you did come in here, don't get girls with as much talent as you every day." Spencer sighed, he was so stupidly nervous around girls he liked. Dakota smiled sympathetically and lightly wrapped her arm around the girl's shoulder as she said her name. "Well Tonya Jaime Ford, it's a pleasure to meet you darlin', let's get you a drink eh?"
Spencer walked behind the counter and began blending fresh strawberries and milk together. Dakota led Tonya to the counter then made her way behind it, nudging bums with Spencer which made him jilt forward and nearly cut himself with the blender. He turned around and grunted at Dakota who shrugged innocently. Once the strawberries and milk were all blended and drinkable he poured it into a tall glass and decorated it with two cut strawberries and a pink straw. "Here you go TJ... oops." He hadn't meant to call her it, it just automatically came out. "Sorry um I yeah..." He saw the girl from earlier approach the counter and place her head in her hands. "Hey future hubby." Dakota saw and grunted, making her way over to Tonya. "Don't worry that's the eleventh girl in two weeks to claim he's her husband." Spencer looked down the counter at Tonya and smiled widely.
