Sunday, 25th October 2009 || Wade's parent's house Wade got a few things together, like their plane tickets for the trip to see his parents. He has planned to meet Claire outside The White House main doors, and then both of them go to the airport together. So Wade grabbed his jacket, keys, wallet, and the tickets, and headed out the door. Soon he was on his way to pick up Claire. It was early still, but it would give him time to spend with his parents, plus for them to get to know Claire as well. On the drive to The White House, Wade wondered how the initial meeting would go. He had obviously spoken to his parents about Claire, but ther was always the thing with her ability that he kept back. He was human, with no ability, along with his parents. Wade had no idea if his parents had come in contact with anyone who was an Evolved Human, so decided not to mention it. But really it wasn't his place to tell them, if it ever came up. It was Claire's. Soon enough, Wade got to the main gate, and was let in. He drove the car up near the door, and shut off the engine. Leaving the tickets behind, Wade got out of the car, and headed up to the doors, acknowledging the secret service guy at the door. He walked inside the door, and sat down at the bench, and waited for Claire to come out so that they could be on their way.

Wade and Claire had officially been dating for almost three months now, and the other day Wade mentioned something about taking her to meet his parents soon. She had been really looking forward to it, but yesterday she had asked Nathan to fly her to Costa Verde because she wanted to see if she could speak with Noah, she wanted to find out how he was doing since the death of her mom, brother and Mr. Muggles the dog. Even though she had bonded with Nathan in a big way, she missed Noah, she missed the connection they used to have, and how he always called her his Claire Bear. Nathan of course was only too happy to fly her over to Costa Verde, at the super speed of his flight, much faster than that of an aeroplane; he had her there within a few minutes. As always, he told her she was just to call the minute she wanted to come back. Claire had tried the door, and just as she had thought, it was locked. She used her key opening it, half expecting to have seen the house in a mess, and Noah sat huddled in a chair somewhere in the dark, but she saw nothing. Well, the furniture was still there, but it was tidy and looked as if it hadn’t been lived in for several days or maybe even weeks. For some reason Claire’s nose got the better of her and she tried to find out where Noah could be and began looking through drawers and cupboards to see if she could find anything which would tell her where he might be. She was about to give up when she came across a file. Looking at the side, it had her name on it, Claire Petrelli with the Petrelli scored out and Bennet next to it on a sticker. Well, with being adopted technically Claire was a Bennet, but she saw herself as a Petrelli now, and had for quite some time since she had bonded with Nathan and even more since she became the First Daughter of America. Her curiosity got the better of her and she eventually opened the file and began to look through it. There were photographs of Nathan, obviously much younger, and another of her mother Meredith, whom she’d only met a few times, but now she was gone too. It seemed just about everybody she loved had been cruelly taken away from her, she could only hope that she would never hear the news about Wade, Nathan or Peter being dead, she’d never handle it. As she flicked through the file, a piece of paper caught her eye, it had her name and power in bold letters, and underneath in slightly smaller ones, ‘The ability to live eternal life.’ Claire dropped the file in shock, and everything came flying out of it, she bent down and quickly gathered it all up, looking once more at the offending piece of paper, and as she continued to read, she put her hand up to her mouth. She knew she could heal, but she hadn’t expected to stay like this forever, or to grow old exceptionally slow, whichever eternal life actually meant, but she knew she couldn’t die with her ability unless she was struck in a certain place and the object was never removed. Her thoughts immediately went to Wade, what would it be like for her to watch him grow old, while she remained looking the same? Wade was a very handsome man, and she didn’t think for one minute he would get horrible looking as he got older, but would he still want her when she still looked like a nineteen year old, going on twenty? She didn’t think so. ********** However today was the day that she was due to meet Wade’s parents, and now she had the whole eternal life thing praying on her mind and she still hadn’t had the chance to tell Wade about it. She was worried to tell him, for fear of rejection, and she knew given how she felt about him, she couldn’t stand rejection; she couldn’t bear the thought of losing him, ever. Her thoughts were soon broken when she got a call to say that Wade was waiting in the lobby for her. She thanked the butler and then made her way down to where he was waiting for her. The soon as she saw him, her eyes began to mist up, because she knew she was going to have to tell him, but she just didn’t know how, and she had to find out the information the day before she was due to meet his parents, it wasn’t fair. “Hi Wade.” Her voice was barely audible, as she tried to speak through the golf ball sized lump in her throat. In fact, she wasn’t going to be able to hold back the tears, as they began to fall, and now her make-up would be ruined and to top it all, Wade was going to ask what the hell was wrong with her, and she didn’t even know where to begin. She sniffed a couple of times, and then gave him a weak, watery smile, “I’m sorry.” She then grabbed for his hand, “Come on, we better go, we don’t want to be late do we?” She tried to stifle back the tears now and gave him a much brighter, but very forced smile, and she only hoped he wouldn’t tell it was force, she couldn’t spoil this for him, she just couldn’t.

Wade was looking around the foyer, lost in thoughts of what might happen today, once he introduced Claire to his parents. He had no idea how the day was going to go, or whether Claire being different to them would come up. But that would all depend on how much she wanted to tell them. That might be a discussion to be left for the car ride or the plane ride.
Wade then felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, and he instantly pulled it out. Looking at it, he saw that it was his mum, just making sure that he was coming today. He smiled at the phone, shaking his head, smiling to himself. Wade then texted back that they were coming today, and that they would be there mid morning at the airport in L.A. He then sent the message, and placed the phone back in his pocket, chuckling to himself. That was his mum for you. He then looked up, still with a smile on his face, and saw Claire coming towards him. But he soon felt the smile disappear.
Just looking at Claire, it seemed she was less then happy to see him. Had she forgotten? Wade slowly stood up with a frown on his face. He barely heard her say 'hi' to him. Before Wade could even get a word out, he saw the tears begin to fall. He rushed over to her, putting his hands gently on her arms. His eyes darted across her face, trying to understand why she was like this. "Hey, what's going on? Has something happened to Nathan?" He then wondered if it was to do with her. "Oh, you are not.... you know?" His eyes darted towards her stomach, then looked back at her. If that was the case, he wondered why she was crying over it.
Wade watched as Claire sniffed back the tears, and gave him a very weak smile, and then she said sorry. He frowned slightly, wondering why she was saying sorry. He still had no idea why she was crying. He just wanted to know what was wrong so that he could do or say something to console her. Without another word, Claire grabbed his hand, and told him that they had better go. Wade looked at her blankly, as she gave him a brighter smile, but he still didn't buy it. Something was terribly wrong if Claire was like this, and he hated to see her in this state without any explanation.
They headed out the door, and down to Wade's car. He so wanted to ask her what was wrong again, and waited till they stopped at his car. Wade hesitated, then opened the passenger side door. "Claire, what the hell is wrong. You know you can tell me. I don't like seeing you so upset." He held her hand, trying to reassure her. "You know you can tell me anything."

Claire hadn’t wanted to cry over everything, she had really wanted to keep it together, but the soon as she saw Wade’s face, and knowing what she knew, and what she had to tell him, it was just too much for her, and the tears soon began to fall. She knew he would be concerned, and as if on cue, he came running over to her, holding her by the arms asking question after question. Claire took in a few deep breaths, trying to compose herself, she really didn’t want to tell him right then, not when they had that flight to catch. Although, deep down, she knew she would have to tell him eventually, because of she didn’t, he was find out soon enough over the years, as he got older and she remained looking the same. Then he was looking at her stomach and asking if she was, even though he didn’t finish the sentence she knew what he was referring to.
She shook her head, “No, there’s nothing wrong with dad, and no, I’m not pregnant, it’s just...” She trailed off, “I can’t tell you, I don’t know how to, I’m not even sure where to begin.” Claire then sniffed back the tears, and grabbed his hand saying they didn’t want to be late and they were to go. Claire had given him a bright smile, and she wasn’t sure if he had bought it or not, but he didn’t seem to say anything else, and just went with her to the car, so she hoped that he would just forget seeing her like that, so they could get on with enjoying their day.
However it would seem Wade couldn’t let it go, as when they reached the car and after he opened the passenger door, before she got in, he asked her what the hell was wrong, like she knew he would have done, and then told her she could tell him anything. He took her hand, trying to reassure her. It was true, normally Claire could tell him anything, they had been friends for a long time before they became lovers, he knew everything there was to know about her, other than this new piece of information and she wouldn’t keep it back from him, she just didn’t know how to tell him.
“I know I can tell you anything, or I usually can, I just don’t know how to tell you this.” She bit down on her bottom lip slightly, and looked down at her feet, as she could feel the emotion building up in her once more. He took the news about the fact she could heal from anything really well, but how would he take the news that she would always remain like this? When he was grey and old, would he really still want to be with her? How would she feel about being with someone who was much older than her? Even if he did remain very handsome as he got older, it would just seem weird, or at least that’s what Claire thought.
She took in a deep breath; she had to tell him anyway, so she might as well tell him now, right? Or at least hand him the piece of paper about it all, which she had removed from the file and folded and placed into her bag. She slowly took it out, and held it in her hands, then looked back up at him again, eyes filled with tears again. “You probably should read this, but before you do, how do you think you would feel if I were to always look the way I do now?” She knew that Wade would probably just raise one eyebrow and think she was messing with his mind or something, to see if he’d be interested in younger women when he was older, like her subtle way of trying to find out if he’d have an affair with a younger girl when she was beginning to get old and grey. She wished. After he replied, she handed him over the piece of paper she had found in the file from yesterday, and could only give him a weak smile.
“This is why I’ve been so upset, and I just don’t know how you are going to take it. I’m not even sure how to take it yet, it’s all just been so overwhelming Wade.” Claire then couldn’t hold back the emotions any longer, as she once again broke down, and slipped down the car until she reached the ground, and sat with her knees up, her arms around her legs, and her head resting on her arms, and just began to sob her heart out.

Wade listened as Claire said to no to the two things that he had asked her. When she had said no to being pregnanat, he felt relieved. Not that he wouldn't have welcomed the idea of her being pregnant with his child, but he was glad that wasn't the case of her being sad. Wade would hate it if she had been pregnant and she was so upset over it all. Really, it would have been a really happy moment, he thought. He had heard her trail off. Wade went to open his mouth, but closed it, as Claire continued on. Just hear those words of uncertainty from her, made him wonder what the hell was going on. What couldn't she tell him, and how long a story was it, if she had no idea where to begin.
So when they reached the car, Wade had opened the door, but then ask asked her what the hell was going on. Wade hoped that she could tell him anything, or why were they so close in the first place? Wade looked at her intensely, but kept his hand in her own for reassurance, in hopes that she would open up with whatever was making her so sad. Claire spoke, then Wade let out a small breath. So she wanted to tell him, but didn't know how. He then watched her look down at her feet, and he could see that she might start crying again. Wade let go of her hand, and moved that hand to her cheek. "Hey, hey, Claire. Just start from the beginning okay?"
As he saw her take something out of her bag, Wade removed his hand from her face, and looked at the piece of paper that was in her hands. He frowned slightly, wondering what it was. Then his eyes diverted to Claire's, who was now looking at him filled with tears. She told him that he should read the pieces of paper. Whatever it was that was that was on that piece of paper was hopefully going to answer Wade's questions. But then she added something else.
Wade frowned slightly, slowly shaking his head. "What are you getting at Claire?" He hadn't meant to be funny, but it just came out. "Your not a vampire, or something now are you?" He kind of half grinned, but then looked down, face going back to being serious. Claire handed him the piece of paper then, so he could read it. Wade took a deep breath, and unfolded the piece of paper. Claire spoke as he did so, and he kind of listened, but wanted to concentrate on what he was about to read. On the paper Wade read her name and the ability that he knew she had. Then he read the smaller writing underneathe. Wade frowned. "What," was all Wade could manage to get out in an average sounding voice.
Wade looked back at Claire, but soon saw that Claire was no longer where he saw her last. She was now slumped on the ground, with her arms around her legs, and head down. He could hear that she was crying so much. Wade instantly got down to her level, sitting next to her, and put his arm around her. "Shh, Claire. Hey, it's okay." Wade continued to try and calm her down, but he had no idea what to say to any of it yet. Sure he loved Claire, and everything about her was amazing in his eyes. But her words from just seconds ago played in his head: 'how do you think you would feel if I were to always look the way I do now?' Wade didn't know how to reply to any of it yet.
Wade looked at his watch, and saw that they had to get going soon. But really, this was a big thing to deal with, and maybe going to his parents wasn't going to be the best thing right now. Wade moved slightly, and gestured for Claire to move her head up. "Maybe we should postpone the trip to my parents today. Just so we can discuss this information that you came across."

Claire knew not telling Wade anything and still being upset underneath would be driving him crazy, she knew he hated seeing her like this, but really, how did you tell your boyfriend whom you loved dearly, you would never grow old like him? This was why after she answered his questions she chose to leave it aside for now, and said they should get going. However, when they reached the car, Wade asked her again what was wrong and she could tell him anything. She had then said she knew she could, she just didn’t know how to tell him what she had to tell him. She could feel the tears stinging at her eyes once more, and soon the hand which had been holding hers was dropped and soon on her face. When Wade spoke, his voice was so soft and comforting; it just made the tears begin to fall again. When he told her to start from the beginning, she just nodded her head, but really, what was he going to think about this?
She sniffed a few times, “Alright then.” That was when she went into her back and got the piece of paper from the file she had folded up, because she felt showing him the information would be better than trying to explain it physically. Before she handed it over she had asked him how he would feel if she were to always look the way she did now. He asked what she was getting at and then asked in a joking way if she was a vampire. Might as well be one of them, she thought to herself, at least then I could make you one too. She shook her head, “No, just read this.” She said again as she handed over the offending piece of paper. His grin didn’t last for long as he got all serious and began looking at the piece of paper she gave him. While he was reading it, knowing how it might make him feel, she had began to cry again and slumped down onto the ground, hugging her knees with her head leaning on them.
Wade was soon down at her level however, and put his arm around her, and began to calm her down, telling her to hush down and it was okay. Was it thought? Was it really okay? With his arm around her, and his words, she did begin to feel herself calm down slightly, but right now, more than anything she just wanted to find out if he was alright about it, or was he freaking out over it, so his silence right now was probably making her feel worse than the fact she had eternal life. When he did finally speak, she felt he had moved slightly, and gestured for her to lift her head up, which she did, some of the tears were gone now, but she couldn’t even smile at him, not until he told her he was fine with it. However what he had said wasn’t what she had expected to hear, he was talking about postponing the trip to his parents, and that’s exactly what she hadn’t wanted to do. However, she wasn’t thinking rationally right now, and she could only think the reason for postponing it was because he thought she was a freak.
He had been fine with her ability, but this was different, this was living forever, staying young. She scrambled up from the ground out of his embrace, “I knew this would happen, you were alright with my ability, but now you know I’m never going to get old you think I’m a freak, and now you don’t want to introduce me to your parents. I don’t really blame you. I am a freak.” With that Claire began to run away from Wade. She just couldn’t face finding out how he really felt about it all. She didn’t get very far before she stopped. The idea of not having Wade in her life anymore was just too painful to think about. She slowly turned around and memories of the night they had admitted their feelings for each other came crashing back into her mind, she then ran toward him again, throwing herself into his arms.
“I’m sorry, I just, I don’t want to lose you Wade, I can’t. I’m nothing without you, I’ll get rid of it, I’ll become normal, I’ll get someone to inject me with the Shanti Virus.” Even though she knew she could die from that depending on the strain of the virus, if it meant she got to live with Wade forever, and grow old together, she’d do it, she’d do it for him. “I didn’t want to spoil this day, I want to meet your parents, can we please go? We can talk about it on the way to the airport in the car. Please?” The tears were almost subsided now, she was just looking at him with very sad eyes, she just wished she could turn back the clock and never found that file, but then, they might have found out later by accident, when Wade was getting older and she remained the same youthful person, it could have been a lot worse to deal with then, than now.

Wade was sort of prepared for whatever Claire had to tell him, whatever was really bothering her enough to make her so upset. When he had put his hand up to her face, and spoke to her, Wade soon saw the tears fall again, and he just wanted to hold her in his arms, and just tell her it was okay. But obviously it wasn't okay, because she wouldn't be like this right now if it was. She nodded, when he told her to start from the beginning, and Wade braced himself for what was to come.
He had tried to make a joke of the whole thing about what she said, which Claire had said no to. So what he had jokingly mentioned was not what was wrong, so what else could be the reason for her comment? Then Wade read the piece of paper that she had given him, and that all just vanished. Just reading what was written just didn't sink in straight away. Did it mean what he thought it meant? Wade had then gone over to Claire, who was now slumped on the ground, hugging her knees, with her head resting on them. He tried so much to try and calm her down, hoping that she might calm down enough to talk.
Wade was only trying to put Claire's best interests first, when he suggested that they postpone the trip to his parents place. He soon realised that he had said the wrong thing, when Claire got up off the ground quickly, and spoke to him. What she said made Wade just feel so small. So it seemed to Wade that Claire was jumping to conclusions. After she was finished, Wade only managed to get out, "You are not a freak Cla..." He watched in amazement as Claire began to run away from him. Wade wanted to run after her, but his feet weren't moving in the slightest. All he could do was raise his eyebrows, and put his hands up on his head, fingers interlaced. Closing eyes, he wondered how this supposed perfect day was going to go now.
As Wade let out a sigh, he soon felt Claire's arms go around him, leading him to open his eyes, and look at her, wrapping his arms around her. His eyes looked right into Claire's as she apologised, and continued to talk. He frowned as she mentioned about becoming normal, and something about getting injected with some virus. "What? What do you mean get injected? What?" All that she said just didn't make sense to Wade. He had no idea what she was going on about. But it sounded to him that she wanted to be human with no ability, like Wade.
Claire then went onto say that she didn't want to spoil the day, and wanted to meet his parents, and they can talk about it on the way to the airport. Wade felt that it was not something to talk about while driving. He wanted to keep his full attention on Claire, as they conversed over this new subject. It was too precious to just chat about it over a drive to the airport. She was too precious to him. But he could tell that was what she wanted, so he would have to agree with it. Wade moved his arms from around her, and placed his hands on either side of Claire's face. "Okay. If that is what you want, then I suppose we can talk more about it in the car." Wade moved one hand, kissing her cheek, then moved around, allowing her to get into the car. Once she was in, Wade closed the door, and slowly walked around to the driver's side. As he reached the door, he sighed a little, and then got in.
Once he was settled into the driver's seat, Wade turned to Claire, giving her a small smile. "You won't spoil the day, Claire. I am sure that my parents will love you, as much as I do." He then turned on the engine, and soon they were off on their way to the airport.

{ooc - bloody hell - a week again - I'm really sorry about this Mel - I need to get on top of these again and get faster at replying}
Claire hadn’t wanted to run away from Wade, but after what he read and spoke about cancelling the trip to his parents, she could only think he thought she was a freak after all, and said as much to him before running away. She wanted to run away from as far as possible, let him lead a normal life with a normal girl, someone who could grow old with him. Deep down though Claire knew Wade didn’t think that way about her, if he did, he’d have thought that from the moment she told him what she could do and he had stayed her friend all that time. It was just the shock of realising Claire would never age which made him suggest it, and soon Claire had gone running back to him, throwing herself into his arms.
Claire had then began to rattle off about getting an injection to get rid of her ability, however she wasn’t thinking rationally, because her blood helped Molly to recover from suffering Shanti Virus, with her having Rapid Cellular Regeneration she probably wouldn’t be able to suffer from it anyway. Naturally Wade began to ask what she was going on about, as he naturally had no clue. “People like us, we can take something called Shanti Virus, it’s something which can take away our ability, but sometimes it can kill depending on the strain of the virus, but it mostly takes away your ability, if I did that, then I’d grow old like you.” Claire then thought more about what she was thinking about seconds ago, if her blood could help Molly heal from it, wouldn’t it mean she’d just heal from it and her ability would still be in tact?
She sighed, “Although I’m not sure it would work with me, my blood can help save Molly, Matt’s daughter, well, sort of daughter when she takes it. I’m just scared Wade, scared that if I stay like this, while you grow old, you won’t want to be with me anymore.” It would be just as weird to Claire to watch the love of her life grow old in front of her eyes. He would probably be thinking the same thing, why would she want to stay with him when he was old and grey and she was still young and could have the pick of any young boy at that time. She wouldn’t, there was only one man Claire was in love with and it would be the same man until the day he died, she wouldn’t care. Besides, he was so devilishly handsome now the chanced were pretty high he’d be just as handsome when he was older, he might not even get particularly old looking, she knew of a lot of actors who looked really good for their age and they were in their late sixties and early seventies.
Claire began to compose herself, she had been looking forward to this, and she didn’t want to spoil the day and so she said as much to Wade, hoping he would change his mind and continue with their planned trip. She soon felt Wade move his arms from around her and put his hands on either side of her face, and then said if that’s what she wanted they could talk about it in the car. She nodded her head, “It’s what I want, yes.” He then moved a hand and she felt him kiss her cheek. “I love you Wade.” She couldn’t help but say it, after everything they had just discussed so far, she had to let him know, despite her running away before, that she did love him, she always would. Once Wade moved, Claire got into the car and waited for Wade to do the same thing.
Once he was inside he turned to her with a small smile on his face, and told her she wouldn’t spoil the day and his parents would love her as much as he did. Claire knew that smile wasn’t like his usual smiles, what with it being small, “Wade you’re not being overly convincing, that smile, I don’t know, it’s not your usual.” She hated to question him like that, but she needed to know what he was really thinking. What if anything went wrong at his parent’s place, what if she tripped up and smacked her head, and they saw it instantly heal, what would they do? What would they say? “If you really rather not go and talk about it instead, then turn the engine off and we’ll talk, but I want to meet your parents, I was looking forward to it so much. I’m actually sorry I found this information out now.” She really needed to know what Wade was thinking, if only she could read minds, she turned away from him and bit on the inside of her cheek, it really wasn’t going to go very well, was it?

Wade listened to what Claire was talking about, but had no idea what it was she was trying to say. So Claire went into a bit more of an explanation of it all. He looked at her, trying to take in everything that she was saying to him, but it was still going over his head a little. So once she finished part of what she was saying, Wade stepped back a little so he could talk to her, putting his arms on her shoulders gently. "I don't want this virus thing to kill you Claire." But that was all he managed to get out, before Claire sighed and continued talking. Wade let out a small breath, as she mentioned that the virus thing wouldn't work for her.
Just hearing Claire say that she was scared that if she stayed the way she was, while he grew old, Wade wouldn't want to be with her anymore. Well it did sound a little daunting for him to grow old while Claire stayed the way she was, or maybe she might just slowly take a lot longer to get older, who knew. Wade didn't, that was for sure. He was still a little unsure about it. But he did know that he couldn't live without Claire at all, no matter what the circumstances. Wade moved his hands from her shoulders to her face, and gently kissed her lips for a second. Once he parted from her, he had to tell her. "Whatever happens, we will be together, okay? You won't lose me, ever. Got that?" Wade gave her a smile, and wrapped his arms around her.
After it was settled that they would talk more about it in the car, Wade had kissed her cheek, and heard her say she loved him. He wanted to reply back, but he knew that they had to get all of what she said out in the open. But that didn't mean he didn't love her. He loved Claire more than anything, and this new obstacle would just test their relationship more, a challenge if you will. Once in the car, Wade had spoken to Claire, and spoke, giving her a small smile. It seemed that Claire knew Wade more than he gave her credit for.
Wade looked at her seriously. He wanted to answer her, knowing full well that he couldn't hide anything from Claire at all. But then she spoke again. Just listening to what she had to say then, asking him if he really want to talk about it instead of going to his parents. Wade put both hands on the steering wheel, gripping it slightly. When Claire mentioned about wanting to meet his parents, he turned to her, still in serious mode. But that was when she turned away from him. Wade let out a bit of a breath. "I think it is best if we do just go to my parents. I would hate for you to be disappointed in not going, when you seem to have been looking foward to it." Wade let go of the steering wheel, and put a hand on Claire's arm, wanting her to look at him. "I want you to meet my parents." Wade knew that if they didn't go, and just stayed here to chat, it would be a very heartbreaking day for both of them.

Claire had rambled on about being given an injection to take the Shanti Virus to get rid of her ability, but she hadn’t really been thinking straight, because her blood could heal Molly from the Shanti Virus, so it was stupid, because it wouldn’t work on her, she’d just heal from it, or at least, she figured she would just heal from it. Before she could tell Wade that it wouldn’t work on her anyway, he had put his hands on her shoulders telling her he didn’t want the Shanti Virus to kill her. That’s when she told him it probably wouldn’t work on her anyway. Claire had then gone on to say she was just scared that while he grew old and she stayed the same he wouldn’t want to be with her anymore. She couldn’t blame him for that, because she wondered if the roles were reversed, would she want to stay with him remaining youthful while she grew old. Maybe the Shanti Virus would still work for her, if it was supposed to take the ability away from a special, then wouldn’t it take hers away before it had a chance to work? She soon felt Wade’s hands move from her shoulders to her face and then he kissed her gently for a few seconds before telling her that whatever happens they would be together and she wouldn’t lose him ever and did she get it. She slowly nodded her head. “Alright then.” However she wasn’t overly convinced, even with that smile he gave her. Really the both of them needed to talk about it more, but now wasn’t really the right time, she still wanted to meet his parents, even if they did end up just being friends, if they decided that being in a relationship while she was the way she was wasn’t going to be good for them in the long haul, it would still be nice to meet her best friend’s parents. When she had told him she loved him, he never said it back, and it sort of upset her a little. Not because she didn’t think he loved her, because she knew he did, but was this his way of trying to tell her, that he still loved her, but not in the way he thought he did anymore? She then mentally slapped herself, she was putting words into Wade’s mouth so to speak and that wasn’t right. Claire knew that Wade’s smile wasn’t convincing, and she said as much, again he didn’t say anything back to her, but she did notice him grip the steering wheel a bit tighter than he had been doing. So it would seem this was going to be a true test of their relationship. Claire had then finally suggested maybe they should talk about it rather than go to his parents even though she had been looking forward to meeting them. Wade then spoke saying he thought it was best to go and meet his parents, he would hate for her to be disappointed when she had been looking forward to it. “If you’re sure that’s what you want to do. Then yes, I’d like it.” She then felt his hand on her arm, even though she knew that was a very dangerous thing for him to do, so she immediately turned round to face him, and gave him a smile, probably one of the most genuine ones she had given him so far that day when he added that he wanted her to meet his parents. “I want to meet them as well Wade.” Claire then wondered how much longer it was going to take for them to get to the airport, because she really just wanted to get on the flight and get to Los Angeles now, she wasn’t really in the mood for discussing her issue right now and yet she was the one who had suggested they talk about it in the car. She sighed, “You know it took me long enough to get used to the idea I could heal myself, and even now if I’m honest I still think I’m a freak show and don’t belong in this world, but now thinking that I can live forever, and never grow old? I feel like more a freak show than ever. Maybe people like us shouldn’t be with people like you.” Claire had no idea where that had come from, she had always wanted to live as normal a life as possible, and since falling in love with Wade, she had got that, but now she was beginning to think maybe she should be with more people like herself, people who could understand, people like Sylar. Then she shuddered at that thought, it wasn’t the first time he had tried to get into a relationship with her, saying they were destined to be together, because they wouldn’t die. ****15 Minutes Later**** Finally Claire saw the airport in the near distance, not that she wasn’t enjoying the drive, but she just wanted to get on that plane and get to Los Angeles, there was even a chance she might be able to see her dad Noah and ask him why he had kept that piece of information away from her. Although any time she had gone to visit him recently he was nowhere to be seen. “Well, looks like we’re here Wade, Los Angeles here we come.” She gave him another genuine warm smile, despite everything which had been said between them earlier, she was really looking forward to meeting Wade’s parents, especially if there was a slim chance she might become a part of the family at some point.

Wade had told her that whatever happens they would be together and she wouldn't lose him ever, and he had meant it. Once he had given her that hug, he wondered if she had actually just said 'alright then' just to stop talking about it. But really, they should talk about it. Even though it mainly involved Claire, it involved Wade as well, as he was her boyfriend, her love, and really he should be able to have a say in what she decides to do with this new information about herself. Wade had told Claire that he wanted for her to meet his parents, and then he saw that smile of hers. His heart skipped a beat, loving that smile of Claire's, and returned it with a warm one of his own. "Good. Let's go then." Wade started the engine, and drove the car out of the White House grounds, and out onto the road, in the direction of the airport. The car trip wasn't silent for long, when Claire spoke. Wade tried to keep his attention on the road, but occassionally glanced over at Claire, frowning a couple of times at what she was saying. "Well I remember when you first told me, or showed me, I can't remember which, that you had the ability to heal yourself. I was a little shocked, but soon accepted that my best friend was special. More special that she already was." Wade continued to watch the road as he drove, still occassionally looking at Claire as he. "I never, ever thought you were a freak, Claire, never. We will get through it, okay? We will sit down and talk about it more. And never think any of what you just said, because if I hadn't of met you, we would never have been together now." Wade turned to her for a split second, taking one hand off the wheel, and gave her hand a good squeeze. **** 15 Minutes Later **** They were finally near the airport, and it seemed that Claire had noticed too. He gave her smile and a nod in acknowledgement, and then contined to head them in the direction of the airport. "Yes, and I can't wait." Wade's smile got wider, and then he turned the car in the direction of the carpark. Once they were out of the car, and Wade had their bags, he put his hand out for Claire to take and then headed towards the airport terminal. Once inside, Wade handed over their tickets, and had their bags checked, even though both bags were only small, it just semed right to just carry them on. Wade hadn't seen his parents for a while, and had gotten them a couple of presents. Soon enough they were settled on the plane, and Wade turned to Claire. "Once the plane is in the sky, did you want to talk more about it? Or did you just want to talk about it later? Up to you, no pressure from me." He gave her a warm smile, wondering if she wanted to calmly talk about it a bit more.

{ooc - sorry for the extreme delay - I hate when I get ill - its over a week since you posted - sorry, sorry, sorry!!} Claire was still struggling to come to terms with the news she had immortality and wouldn’t grow old. She should have known, they should have told her when she was aware of her power, but no, she had to find out by coming across a folder with information about her in it. It wasn’t right for her to find out like this. If she had known sooner, she could have told Wade more about herself, as she hadn’t held back on the fact she could self heal and he had taken that surprisingly well. But this was different, this was living forever, while Wade grew old and would ultimately end in his death eventually, she just hoped that would be a very long time off yet. So after Wade said he wanted her to meet his parents, she had given him a genuine warm smile and when Wade spoke saying let’s go then, she nodded her head. Soon they were on their way to the airport. Maybe she shouldn’t have told him at this point, maybe she should have kept it for another day, but she just couldn’t hold back the emotion when she saw him. Claire had soon broken the silence in the car by saying she had always felt like a freak show with having the power to self heal, but now that she could live forever, she felt like a freak show more than before. Wade then spoke saying that when she first told him or showed him what she could do he was a bit shocked but soon accepted that his best friend was special, more special than she already was. Claire glanced at him when he said that, and gave him a smile, while she had tears welling in her eyes. “It doesn’t change the fact I’m different.” Wade then went on to say that he never thought she was a freak. He continued to say they would get through it and she wasn’t to think that people like her shouldn’t be with people like him because then they wouldn’t be together now. He had a point with that, but she still felt like something was going to go wrong between them at some point over all of this. “I know you never thought I was freak, but I did, I still do, even more so now. It was so difficult to try and not hurt myself at school for fear of healing instantly and having them all wonder what hell had happened you know? It happened a few times as well, like netball accidents, broken wrist, which mended within seconds, the looks I used to get, and then try and worm my way out of it by saying it wasn’t broken, it must have just been the way it looked.” She sighed then, some people just didn’t get it or understand what it was like for her to try and live a normal life when she was far from being normal. “You are right about one thing though, despite it all, I am glad I’m with you, I just, I don’t know; feel like your life would be better if I weren’t like this.” She wiped away the tears from her eyes which were already starting to fall again. ****15 Minutes Later**** Claire soon pointed out that they were almost at the airport and then added that California here they come. She was still in very mixed feelings about heading to California because of what she had found out the last time she was there, but California was her home for a long time, she didn’t want to feel out of place by going there, and hopefully once she met Wade’s parents she wouldn’t feel that way anymore. “Me neither.” Claire saw that smile of his which made her smile right back, at the back of her mind she was beginning to wonder what his parents would think of her, she hoped they would like her as much as Nathan liked Wade. Soon they were out of the car and Wade held his hand out for her to take and began to lead her into the airport terminal. Soon their tickets were handed over and their bags checked in and within a few moments they were both on the plane, getting ready to take off for California. It didn’t take long for Wade to then turn to her and ask if she wanted to talk about some more when the plane was in the sky. It was a bit of a weird thing to talk about in the plane she thought, what if people heard them, but then she realised she didn’t care, she was fed up hiding who she was, and taking a quick look around, most of them seemed to be interested in their own thing anyway. She sighed gently and then gave him a warm smile, “Well, I guess we need to talk about it at some point, might as well get it over with on the flight and then we can maybe enjoy our time with your parents.” Although, Claire wasn’t really sure what else there could be to talk about, she was never going to die, she was going to stay looking like this for the rest of her life while Wade grew old and eventually left her side when he died. She took in a deep breath and then looked at Wade, “It was a shock to me when I read it Wade, a real shock, and it’s still taking time to sink in, but what worried me the most about it, would be how you would react, how you feel about it all? I need to know how you really feel, it’s hard enough for me to get to grips with it, but I’m not really sure who it’s going be worse for, who it’s going to affect more, you looking at me staying young, or me looking at you growing older by the year?” That she felt was the main worry in this new information, and once she knew how Wade felt about it all, then maybe they could get over it and move on from it.

Wade noticed those tears in Claire's eyes, when she turned to him, saying that it doesn't change the fact that she is different. He felt like saying, 'I don't care if you are different. It doesn't matter to me', but maybe he had already said that, who knew. But he wanted Claire to try and forget about it for a little while, and enjoy the time with his parents, as much as she could. He hand then spoken about how he never thought she was a freak, and that they would get through it. He had to make her understand that they were meant to be together, no matter what. He listened to Claire, about how she had to be careful at school, because of her ability. Wade had an idea that she would have had a difficult time at school, due to her ability, but he knew most of that, what with being friends with her for a few years now. But he also knew he loved her more than ever, and hoped that she would let him help her get a grip on this new piece of information. Wade wanted to respond, when Claire then added about her being glad that she was with him, but then said she felt like his life would be better if she weren't like the way she was. Wade didn't know what to say or do to that, but he did get a glimpse at the tears falling all over again. "Hey, hey. We will get through it. Don't you worry about that. I ain't going anywhere." With that, Wade continued to drive them towards the airport. **** 15 minutes later **** As soon as they got on the plane, Wade had asked if she wanted to talk more about it. Really, it was the best opportunity they had to discuss it together. How much time would they get alone at his parent's place, probably not a lot. He nodded when she spoke. "I agree. Just take your time with it all." Wade turned his body in the seat, as much as he could, so that he had her full attention. She had told him most of it already, but really she was in a bit of a state over telling him initially of what she found out. So now he hoped that she was slightly better to talk about it. Wade listened as Claire, as she spoke about how she felt when she found out the information, and then moved onto asking him how he felt about it all. He still hadn't really sunk in what would happen over the years, if they were still together. He loved her that much to stick it out. At that point in time, he couldn't really visualise what she was saying, but he knew that it would eventually happen. Wade reached for Claire's hand, and began to caress it with his thumb. He hoped what he said next would make her feel a bit better, and understand what he was feeling. "I can't even begin to imagine how you were feeling at that point in time when you found out. All I can do is help you understand that I am here with you one hundred percent of the way. I love you Claire, and that is all that matters right now. I feel that once things start to change, we will talk about it all. I can't imagine what it might end up looking like when I began to look older than you, but I know that my love for you will never change." He then lent over and gave her a soft, passionate kiss. When he parted, he lent into her ear. "I love you Claire Petrelli."

When Claire had said to Wade that it would be better if she weren’t like the way she was, she hadn’t been able to stop the tears from falling again even though she didn’t want to cry anymore. When Wade said that they would get through it and he wasn’t going anywhere she turned to him again, wiping the tears away from her eyes and gave him a rather watery smile. She sniffed a couple of times, “Okay then.” It was all she could think of to say, obviously Wade was trying his best to assure her that everything would be alright with them, but she still couldn’t help but know what it could mean to them, and it might be okay saying that now, but how will they both feel, how would he feel, when time went on and he began to get older while she stayed the same? That’s when they would really know. ****15 minutes later**** Once they were settled on the plane Wade asked if she wanted to talk about it some more and Claire said they had to talk about it sooner or later, she saw him nodding and said he agreed but she was to take her time. She gave him a smile then, she was feeling a little bit better about it now, but she knew the whole staying young while he got old would be niggling in her head for a long time to come yet. Claire nodded her head, “Okay then, here goes.” She then began to tell him what was on her mind and what was worrying her most about the information she found out wondering what Wade would say about it all. When Wade did begin to talk all she could do was listen carefully to what he was saying. She couldn’t deny that he was making her feel a little better about things. What he was saying made sense, neither of them knew what it would be like until it began to happen, but Claire knew that her love for Wade would never likely change either. “I’m glad you’ve said that Wade because I can’t see me feeling any other way either. I know I will always love you despite everything.” Wade then leaned in to give her a soft passionate kiss and Claire returned the kiss with just as much passion even though it was soft. When he parted from her, he leaned in to her ear and told her he loved her. A slow smile spread over her face, one she hadn’t really had since she had met Wade earlier, and leaned in to his ear, “I love you too Wade Murphy.” {ooc - sorry it's so short but I couldn't think of much else to say - I was going to skip 5 hours to get them to Cali, but then figured you might want to do that in case there's anything else you can think of to add - I checked and a typical flight between Washington D.C and California takes 4 hours and 40 minutes}

After Wade went into an indept response to what she said, he listened to what Claire said. It had sadden Wade somewhat of what Claire had found out about herself. But at least they knew what they might be in for when it started to happen, instead of noticing something as the years went on, so to speak. Wade soon felt Claire kissing him back as much as he was, and it felt right. He never really cared where they were, he always wanted to show her how much he loved her, in an affectionate way. Once they parted, he had told her that he loved her, and then heard her reply with the same, plus more. Just seeing that smile on her face, made him love her even more. **** 5 hours later **** The plane had touched down on the runway only about twenty minutes earlier. He led the way to get off the plane, then to get their bags from the bag pickup. Once they had their things, Wade's phone rang to say that he had a message. He looked down at it in his hands and saw that it was his mum. "It's just mum asking if we had arrived yet." He gave Claire a bit of a laugh, texting back. They soon made it out of the terminal, and headed out to the taxi rank, where Wade spotted a taxi spare. He led the way, and put their bags in the boot, then opened the door for Claire. Once she was in, Wade got in after her, and closed the door. Soon they were off in the direction of his parents house. Wade looked at Claire. "Excited still?" He gave her a smile, and squeezed her hand. "I can't wait for you to meet mum and dad. I still know that they are going to love you just as much as I do." He kissed her cheek, and continued to hold her hand. Wade knew that Claire still had that rather big news in her mind, but he hoped that they could enjoy this time with his parents, in order for them to get to know this wonderful person. The taxi pulled into the front of the place where he grew up. It hadn't changed much over the years. It was still the beige coloured two storey house that he remembered, and could see his bedroom window at the top, facing the street. Once they were out of the taxi, Wade paid the driver, retrieved their bags from the boot, then he held his hand out for Claire to take. He looked at her, and smiled, then pointed to the window he had been looking at. "That is where my bedroom should still be, unless mum has turned it into something else." He snickered a little, then led them to the front door. Wade knocked on the door, and waited to see who would come first, even though he had a fair idea. He was soon proven right, when he and Claire came face to face with his mum, Georgia. "Wade! Come here." Wade had to let go of Claire's hand, as his mum embraced him in a big hug. Once Georgia let go of Wade, she turned to Claire. Wade was about to introduce Claire, when his mum instantly went over to Claire and gave her a hug. After she let go of Claire, she smiled at her. "And you must be Claire. I'm Georgia, Wade's mum. Come in." Wade followed his mum, but had grabbed a hold of Claire's hand before heading in. He lent into her ear. "Sorry. She can get a bit overexcited." He then spoke to his mum as he followed her into the living room. "Hey mom. Do you mind if Claire and I go and put our stuff up in my room?" Georgia turned to look at him. "Sure, sweetheart. But wouldn't Claire like to meet your father first, before you two go and run off to be in private?" Wade rolled his eyes slightly, then waited for Claire to answer.
