Matt just smiled as he listened to Emilie's comment about how her father may not allow him to mimic his power. He just leaned in a little, beckoning her to lean in with his hands. "I'd simply freeze time and walk up to him and mimic it. Or I'd telepathically command him to. So either way, I get I want." He said with a wink and a chuckle as he sat back straight. "No, I wouldn't do that. I'm respectful to other people's wishes about me mimicking their powers." He said as he smiled at her. Hopefully his joke wouldn't make her upset.
After Matt's story of his manifestation, Emilie simply apologized that his manifestation couldn't happen under better circumstances, and she could understand how it was a curse. He just smiled at her weakly. "Well at least someone knows what's like." He said as Emilie smiled at him sympathetically. She seemed to really understand where he was coming from. Soon after Matt had explained the perks, Emilie commented that she wished to be able to fly. That was one a lot of people dreamed of doing. To be able to just leave the world behind and float in the sky. The emptiness. The freedom. Matt dreamed about it as well. "Another thing we have in common." He said with a smile.
Soon afterward, he had asked her what she had done with her life, and she seemed to be conflicted a little as she said her answer. Matt knew basic psychological techniques, and had especially covered people lying. He didn't need his telepathy to know that she wasn't being honest with him. However it was her choice to divulge her secrets when she wished. Matt would respect that. He simply nodded as was about to ask something as Emilie quickly got up.
"What's wrong?" He asked in a confused tone as she wrapped her arms around his neck, Matt's eyes widening a little. "What are you doing?" He asked, Emilie replying with for him to play along. "Um... O..." He began, his sentence interupted by Emilie suddenly kissing Matt. His eyes widened further as he allowed the kiss to take place. Wow... You don't go on a date for 3 years and you still make the girls go crazy... Damn it, I'm good. He thought to himself as he kissed Emilie back a little. Hey, why not make it more realistic?

After Emilie had joked with Matt about her father not allowing him to mimic his power he had beckoned her to move in closer to him which she did and then he replied which made Emilie laugh. Well she had been teasing him and he was just doing the exact same thing back. She could tell even before he winked and chuckled at her. Then he spoke again just confirming what she already knew. “You’re good Matt, I like your humour. My dad probably wouldn’t have much of a problem with you mimicking his power so long as he knew it would be getting used for the benefit of good and not bad.” She was of course referring to it being used in self defence or helping someone and if that meant the other was killed through the power then fair enough, Gary had made it no secret to Emilie that he would kill anybody who tried to hurt her.
Emilie nodded her head when Matt spoke of her knowing what its like, “Only too well.” Thinking that the only ability she had was healing herself and then finding out she could do something else, that’s when she realised she must have some sort of mimicry power and knew that it had to be through touch as her second power manifested soon after she had touched someone. That’s why she had to wear gloves for a while until she had managed to control when and when not to take a power, and it hadn’t been easy. Emilie had then commented about the perks side of the power and always wanting to have had the ability to fly, she couldn’t help but smile warmly and feel a little glow on the inside when Matt said that that was just another thing they had in common.
When Matt had asked about what she did before being a barmaid she knew she had to lie to cover up the past, she just wasn’t comfortable talking about it quite so soon. Unfortunately that was when the guy came into the cafe which made Emilie go white as she knew fine well who it was. It was a face she had never wanted to see again. It was one of the mafia members who had tricked her; a couple of years ago and got her hooked on drugs. The only thing she knew what to do so the guy wouldn’t hopefully recognise her was to suddenly kiss Matt. Getting up and putting her arms around his neck and telling him to play along before she started. She ignored his questions asking what was wrong; there was no time to answer him.
She thought the kiss would have been awkward, or given the way it happened it should have been awkward but she was finding she was actually rather enjoying it, more so when Matt seemed to get into the kiss, which made Emilie respond to it all the more. Unfortunately her little plan didn’t quite work when she felt a hand on her shoulder and she got grabbed off of Matt. “So this is where you have been hiding huh?” The voice boomed into her ear, the look of fear evident on Emilie’s face, she didn’t want to get dragged back down that dark path, and she knew if her father found out he would seriously kill the guys who took her away from him. Please go away, just leave me alone Emilie thought to herself, but it wasn’t working as she was beginning to get dragged by the big Italian mafia bloke.

It was nice to know that the pair, in Matt's eyes at least were getting along. Joking about him mimicking powers, talking about their abilities... It was like Matt was beginning to change back into the person he used to be. The sort of person who was kind, loving and caring for others. Not the harsh, tough guy he was now. However he had no idea how quickly that was all about to be undone. It was with Emilie's out of nowhere kiss that Matt seemed to like her more. Randomly kissing someone she didn't know on the first date. It was fun.
Until the part with the guy grabbing her. Matt felt her lips yank away from his, as he opened his eyes, the gruff voice of the man grabbing her , saying that this was where she was hiding. Hiding? She was in hiding? She was lying after all.... But there was no time for that, as the man began to drag her by her shoulder, Emilie's face showing nothing but pure fear.
That's when Matt snapped.
His pupils became tiny as rage filled his face, his hand reaching out in a gripping gesture and with a rough telekinetic force, grasped the man's throat from about 10 feet away, watching as the man released Emilie, grabbing his throat as though he tried to free himself. From a telekinetic grip? Good luck. Matt glared into the man's eyes, his look of rage enough to petrify anyone at this moment. "You have the nerve to lay your hands on this young lady?" Matt said to the man, his tone soft. However not a gentle soft. A psychopathic soft that would make one get chills in their spine.
"Fuck off freak! Don't get inv..." The man began, Matt's grip tightening on the man's neck, his face showing that he couldn't breathe. Matt just glared into the man's eyes. "Big mistake..." He said softly as he flicked his hand into an open palm, the man flying back at a speed so powerfully, he went through the wall, the sound of bones snapping and blood following afterward. Matt turned to face Emilie, his look changing to a look of seriousness. He was in job mode now.
"Do as I say and follow me. We're leaving now." He said, taking her hand and beginning to lead her out of the restaurant.

Emilie couldn’t believe that everything despite the slightly awkward start seemed to be going so well up to the moment that mafia jerk stepped into the cafe. She should have probably known better than to bring Matt to an Italian run cafe, but really she and her dad had been often in the past and she had never recognised any of the faces which came into the cafe other than the cafe’s obvious regular customers, which she and her dad were a part of. Really the date couldn’t have gone much worse now in Emilie’s eyes, as she felt herself being grabbed backward out of the cafe by the huge Italian bloke. Not that he got her very far when suddenly she saw Matt, well snap for want of a better word. The look on his face, well his eyes more than anything, she could see pure rage take him over. Not that Emilie was bothering, she was more frightened and bothered about the Italian bloke who had grabbed at her than the way Matt was appearing now.
Soon enough Emilie felt the guy release her and she stumbled back to hide behind Matt who seemed to be doing a good job of taking care of the big Italian bloke. The next thing Emilie saw was the guy being thrown by a telekinetic force and he smashed through the wall. The awful sound of bones being broken made Emilie wince slightly, but she was in no way angry at Matt, he had after all just saved her from being grabbed by that bloke, but god knows the state he was in, from the sound and the blood she would be surprised if the bloke had even survived Matt’s attack. Her eyes were wide open with a mixture of fear and shock over her face, fear at having been found and shock at having witnessed Matt at probably one of his darkest moments.
Matt then turned to face her and the look had changed from one of anger to one of seriousness and then he told her to do as he said and that they were leaving. “You’re getting no arguments from me.” She said in a panicked voice as Matt took her hand and began leading her out of the cafe. Once they were in the street, she looked at Matt, “There’s probably something you should know, but I didn’t want to tell you because I didn’t know how to and I didn’t know what you would think of me.” The words sort of came out like an express train. Then she had another thought, “Where are we going, where are you taking me?” Whether she was genuinely worried about seeing Matt in his current state and having him drag her off, or if it was still the fear of almost being caught by the mafia again, her voice was shaky and she wasn’t sure whether she even trusted Matt now despite the fact he had just helped her from the mafia bloke.

Matt watched as Emilie quickly hid behind Matt, his eyes not leaving the asshole in front of him as he practically destroyed him. He didn't care how Emilie would feel about the situation, especially as he turned to her and said she was to do what was told and follow him. She agreed immediately, saying there was going to be no arguments from her. He just pulled her outside, scouting the area quickly as she spoke.
She said she hadn't been honest with Matt, and then changed to where they were going. She sounded scared, as was expected. But Matt just looked at her, his face serious once again. "Once I get you to safety, you can tell me everything. Other than that, take a deep breath right now. He wasn't alone." He said as he looked forward, a couple of guys getting out a car, semi-auto's in hand as they pointed the guns at the pair. Matt just watched as the pair began to shoot, Matt teleported the pair away instantly.
They reappeared in Matt's home, Matt feeling a sting in his shoulder. Two bullets had impacted him, but his healing had already began to take care of that, the bullets pushed out of his body within seconds. He just turned to Emilie, his face a little more relaxed now. He just breathed deeply for a moment before he asked, "What the hell was that about. And stick to the truth this time. Or else I'll find out myself." He said in a serious tone, looking at her intently as he waited for a response.

Emilie had said there was something she should tell Matt, but she wasn’t about to get into it there and then in the street and then she asked in a panicked tone where they were going, where was he taking her. Trust issues came flooding back to her when she saw that face, and if you knew her past story you would appreciate her having these trust issues with Matt now. But really he wasn’t hurting her in anyway; he was just leading her somewhere. Matt turned to her and told her she could tell him everything once he got her to safety. So maybe she could trust him after all. Well it was better being with a guy who had quite a lot of powers behind him, than be on her own and fear getting caught by someone else from the mafia group, especially when Matt declared that the other bloke hadn’t been on his own. She just nodded her head, and took in a deep breath, hoping and praying that they would get out of there without being found.
Sadly that wasn’t to be the case as she soon saw a couple of guys come out of a car with guns and began to shoot. Matt teleported them away, but Emilie saw their faces long enough to know they were part of the mafia group too. They must have been searching for her for ages, now they had caught up to her, she would lose the life she had grown to love. They wouldn’t give in until they had her back in their hands. Soon enough they were in a bedroom Emilie didn’t recognise, so she had to assume that it was Matt’s apartment. She saw that Matt had been clipped by the shots which were fired before he got them away. “I’m sorry Matt.” Although she knew he could heal it didn’t stop the fact that he had gotten injured because of her, because she hadn’t been able to face up to telling him about her past.
Matt then more or less demanded that she tell him what it was all about, or he would find out himself. She put her hands up in surrender, “Alright, I told you I had something I had to tell you. Just don’t know what you’ll think.” She took in a deep breath, basically the story was quite a long one, but she knew she could break it down enough to stop it from being a boring one as well as long. “It all started when my brother and twin sister were killed when they were young, my dad lost it and couldn’t handle their deaths and so he left. I hated it; I was close to my dad. I don’t know what he went off to do, find out who had killed them, but he never came back. Then my mom died when I just turned eighteen, I came home from school to find her dead. So I left school and got a job at a cafe, but it wasn’t enough to pay the bills. I’ve always looked older for my age, so I managed to get a job at a nightclub although they knew my age, they didn’t really care. The nightclub was run by a mafia family but I didn’t know it at the time.” Emilie stopped for a few seconds to get some air before carrying on with her sorry tale.
“They started making me do things I wasn’t happy with, it turns out I wasn’t just serving drinks but having to give lap dances and a few other unmentionable things. If I didn’t do them I was tortured, but I needed the money, I was vulnerable and had nobody to turn to. Then they started getting me hooked on drugs, I was basically a mess by the time my father had found out about my mother dying and tracked me down and got me into rehab to sort myself out for two years. I’ve been clean ever since and never looked back. I thought I was free, I thought I was safe from it all until he came into the cafe.” Emilie couldn’t get out much more, reliving the past was just too difficult for her and as much as she might have been a stronger person for everything she had gone through, she finally broke down with her head in her hands. “I’m sorry, I’m really sorry.”

"It's fine, I've been through worse." He merely replied to her apology about being shot. He'd been shot, stabbed, burnt, partially disintegrated, etc. Anything you can think of, Matt's endured it. Two bullets to the shoulder was nothing. However what he had to endure next was going to be more painful than anything he had endured before. That's when she began to speak about her life. About her family dying. About her father leaving. About the Mafia.
When she spoke about her time with them... Matt's blood boiled. A couple of small objects shook a little, Matt's telekinetic power manifesting through his emotions, however he managed to keep in line until she had began to break down. He just watched her in pity, his face changing to one of empathy. He walked her to the bed, sitting her down as he sat next to her. "Emilie... I... I'm so sorry about everything you've been through... But you don't have to worry. I work with the government. I'll get you protection." He said as he thought about maybe revealing his dark past as well. Letting her know she wasn't alone. He may as well, since she had revealed hers.
"Besides... A dark past is something we both have in common as well..." He said, looking at her with a look of shame. "I wasn't honest to you about everything either..." He said, looking down to the floor before continuing. "My parents dies when I was 10. My brothers and I went to live with my grandfather, who hated people like us. I was the youngest so I was neglected a lot. I feel into the drug scene, mainly prescription pills." He said with a deep breath before continuing. "My family helped me get clean and I have been for 6 years. However... Remember how I told my power didn't manifest under ideal reasons?" He asked her, still looking at the floor.
"I cut myself at home by accident while making dinner with the family. I healed in front of everyone... My grandfather tried to kill me that night." He said, breathing deeply again to keep his emotions in check, a couple of things around the room shaking violently as he relived the memory. "That asshole stabbed me so many times... But I kept healing. The pain didn't heal though. I felt every stab. So after my brothers restrained him, I ran. I just left everything behind." He said, closing his eyes, stopping the tears from coming out. He never cried. Ever.
"And the reason I work for the government is that I'm blackmailed to." He said, looking at Emilie with a shameful look. "I tried to rob my boss's brother when I was on the streets. Except he had telepathy. So I absorbed it and I got the feedback from everyone's thoughts at once. Overwhelmed me. Next thing, I'm in a cell that I can't use my powers in, and they said I either help them, or stay in there... I've been there for nearly 2 years now..." He said, a single tear leaking out before he smiled weakly at Emilie.
"So I know where you're coming from in a sense..." He said, smiling weakly.

When Emilie had apologised to Matt for getting shot at he said it was fine and he’d been through worse. No doubt he probably had but this time he had gotten shot at her expense and it made her feel bad. He had then demanded that she tell him what it had all been about and she was to tell him the truth; and she did just that, told him the truth, every last sorry detail. Even for being as tough as she was it had still managed to make her break down. She had noticed as she told her sorry tale a few things shake and vibrate, she had to put it down to Matt’s emotions getting the better of him as he had listened to her pour her heart out. She soon felt him guiding her and made to sit on his bed and Matt sat next to her and then he began to speak.
He told her that he was sorry for everything she had been through but he worked for the government and he would get her protection. Would it be enough though, she wondered, she thought she was safe being back at home with her father who was a strong man with quite a powerful ability, but then she hadn’t been with her father when this had happened. She had been with a guy she was hoping could be a boyfriend, someone special in her life, but he had even more powers than her father and even he himself could protect her. She couldn’t seem to stop the tears from falling however, it was as if she hadn’t cried in so long and everything just decided to come rushing out at that moment. “Thanks Matt, although the way you took him out before, I’m sure you could protect me all on your own.” She gave him a weak smile through her tears. So Matt had a dark side, one she wasn’t sure if she liked all that much, but that dark side could help her in moments like she had just gone through before. But she knew she liked him despite that and if it hadn’t been for Matt snapping, she might not be here now.
Matt then continued to speak saying a dark past was something they had in common as well. This got her attention, it would seem they had plenty in common; maybe they were a match made in heaven or hell, whatever way you wanted to look at it. She was still fighting back her own tears but she nodded her head, “Go on then.” She prompted as Matt looked down at the floor and then his own story began to flood out of him. Emilie had been trying to stop herself from crying at reliving her own past, but listening to Matt relive his was just as bad and set her tears off again. Having a slightly similar background definitely gave them some common ground, more than either of them probably ever imagined possible. When he got to the blackmail part of his story Emilie could only put her hand on his arm and she gave it a gentle squeeze.
Emilie was definitely finding herself drawn to Matt more and more, they had so many different things in common with each other it was almost as if they were destined to be together. When Matt then said he knew where she was coming from in a sense and gave her a weak smile she nodded her head giving him a weak smile back. Through the tears which were still falling she couldn’t help but say the next few words, “I’m sorry for everything you had to endure in your life as well Matt. And I should have been honest with you from the start. Maybe we might just be good for each other?” It was a wonder she was able to form any words at all, then not sure why but not able to stop herself either, she leaned her head on Matt’s shoulder and put a hand up to his chest as she just continued to cry. Tears for the brother and sister she had lost as a child, tears for the father who had abandoned the family due to being stricken with grief, tears over the death of her mother, tears for the world she got herself caught up in after and finally tears for Matt.

Matt just looked at Emilie with a weak smiled after he had finished his story and said he knew where she was coming from, her response making him shed a couple of tears, as he fought to hold them back, breathing in deeply as he looked at her with sad eyes. Especially when she said they may be good for each other. That's when she just leaned her head onto Matt's shoulder, her hand on his chest, and cried. Like as though she were letting her emotions out. He just held her head with a hand, placing his head on top of hers gently.
"It's OK... It's OK. The important thing is now not to dwell on our pasts... but sort of think about the future," He began, his tone beginning to get more serious as he took his head off of hers, pulling her head up gently with his hand and looking into her eyes. "I have to get you back to your father. And you two need to go. They'll be going after him ne..." He began as his head whipped up straight, looking to the door as his eyes widened.
"Impossible..." He simply said as he got up at a super speed rate, standing in front of Emilie as the door to his bedroom busted open, the men from earlier pointing guns at the pair. "Hey pal... We got clairvoyants working with us and we tracked your girlfriend here. She's coming with us." One said as Matt's eyes narrowed. "You want her..." He said, running right up front of the goon who had spoken and disarmed him with a swift elbow to the face and elbow, the man dropping the gun.
"You go through me first!" He finished, whipping his head to the other guy who had just turned to Matt, pointing the gun up as Matt quickly leaned back, dodging the bullet. He quickly somersaulted backwards, kicking the man in the face before landing in a crouch, jumping forward and tackling the man into the wall, breaking through it into the kitchen. The man was dazed for a moment, before Matt landed a kick to his face, seeing teeth fall out and the man's face blank. He quickly ran back to Emilie, looking at her with a serious look.
"Where's your father?" He asked her, grabbing her hand, ready to teleport to the first location she said.

{ooc - blah - I suck - sorry for delay}
After Matt had told his own sad story to Emilie she had said how sorry she was for him, and she saw those tears threaten to fall in his eyes and the way he looked at her just made her want to reach out to him and yet still a part of her wanted to hold back for fear that she would be making the wrong move. Emilie had then remarked that they might be good for each other due to them both having sad backgrounds not to forget a few things in common. She had then leaned her head on his shoulder and her hand on his chest without even thinking, crying her heart out for everything both of them had been through in their lives. She soon felt Matt’s hand on her head and then his own head gently resting on hers. Despite the fact it was a rather emotional moment right then the way they were felt so good. Emilie was now sure she had done the right thing by agreeing to the date with Matt.
When Matt spoke again he was saying that everything was ok and they had to stop dwelling on the past and look to the future. It was easier looking to the future before that guy had came into the cafe before. They were obviously on to where she was and it could only lead to trouble. She sighed deeply as she tried to bite back the tears, “I guess you’re right Matt, but I’m not sure how safe I’m going to be, not now that they’ve obviously tracked me down.” Matt then gently lifted her head up and looked into her eyes and spoke again about getting her back to her father. He didn’t get to finish the sentence however, “What?!” She asked but since he had trailed off she figured that trying to talk might not be the right thing at that moment, especially given the way Matt was looking.
Then he began to speak again, but only said one word and then used his speed ability to stand in front of Emilie and soon after she realised why he had broken off in mid sentence, the two men from earlier were now in the doorway with guns pointing at them again. Naturally Emilie was filled with fear and even though Matt was in front of her the first thing she did was to grab onto his back with her hands clutching at his clothes. Her grip tightened when she heard one of them speak, she didn’t want to go anywhere with those guys. She never wanted to go back to that life. Then Matt spoke saying they would have to go through him to get to her. Her heart started beating furiously. Matt lunged at them which made her drop her hands from his back and she started backing away as far as she could until she was against the wall on Matt’s bed just watching the scene unfold in front of her.
He was fighting these guys to protect her and it was just their first date, well she was certainly going to remember this one, it was memorable for all the wrong reasons so far. Once Matt had managed to take care of them which she figured would only be a temporary solution Matt ran toward her and she pushed herself forward on the bed. Matt then spoke asking her where her father was and grabbing her hand. He was obviously going to teleport her to where her dad would be. “He’ll be at that bar, Swans Bar in Washington.” She shouldn’t have to say more than that, because it was the very bar she had first met Matt, he would know where it was as he had already been there.

After Matt had taken down the two men that had burst into his home, he quickly turned back to Emilie, grasping her hand and asking where her father was. If they could track her, they had to have help. Most likely special help from evolved humans. As soon as Emilie mentioned the bar, Matt nodded, looking at her with a serious look still on his face. "Look, they've got to have help in tracking you down. I think they're using either a Clairvoyant or a Precog. Deep breath." Matt said, as he closed his eyes, the pair disappearing from the home and instantly appearing in the bar.
The scene wasn't pretty. Burn marks on the walls, the floor ripped apart with small pillars of earth sticking out, broken tables and stools, various objects covered in ice, they had attacked her father as well. "Oh shit..." Matt said, not just because of the possibility that Gary had been taken... But at the carnage in front of him. This wasn't basic level elemental manipulation as Matt had thought... Her father was high up in ability control by the looks of things. He turned back to Emilie before looking ahead and calling out, "Mr. Swan? Are you here? Are you OK?" Matt called out while looking back to Emilie.
"Go hide behind the bar... Just in case..." He said to her before looking back ahead, waiting.

After Matt had asked Emilie where her father was and she replied telling him he would be in the bar she saw Matt nod his head in acknowledgement and then he spoke saying that these guys who were after her must have been using a Clairvoyant or Precog to track her down and then he told her to take a deep breath. “I just want them to me leave me alone Matt. My life was going steady when dad pulled me from the brink of despair, I don’t want to go down that track again.” Emilie had been off the drugs for a while now, but she wasn’t sure how easy it would be for her to get addicted again if they happened to catch up with her and started force feeding them to her again, as that’s what more or less happened the first time around and then Emilie got so used to having them that when they stopped giving them to her, she asked for them. That was obviously how they worked.
Soon enough they had landed in the bar and Emilie was shocked to see the mess the place was in. Right away her immediate concern was for her father. She yelled out loudly, “DAD! Are you alright, where are you?” But she didn’t get any response which was worrying her. Then she heard Matt utter the word shit and soon enough he was shouting out for her father as well. “He’ll be in here somewhere; he wouldn’t just abandon the place.” Emilie said in a shaky voice, she was pretty sure that Gary wouldn’t leave the bar. Looking at the mess Emilie hoped her father’s insurance was up to date or it was going to cost him a fortune to fix up the place, especially since they wouldn’t be serving anybody for a while.
Matt then told her to go and hide behind the bar just in case. She nodded her head, “Alright then.” Somehow she trusted Matt even though this was still their first date, although it was a date which was going to go down in history she thought to herself, and for all the wrong reasons. She got behind the bar while Matt was waiting to see if her father was going to show. No sooner had she bent down behind the bar she felt a thud to her head and was momentarily knocked out. One of the guys had managed to sneak up on her and obviously without Matt seeing. The last thing Emilie saw as she managed to gain some consciousness again was being thrown into the back of a van, and she could only think, ‘this is it Emilie, your life is over.’
{ooc - Emilie out of it for now - until they find her, whether that be in a new thread or not?}

It had just been another normal morning at the bar for Gary; he had been getting it ready for the afternoon rush of customers when suddenly the door to the bar was being pounded on. Gary had shouted that they weren’t ready for opening yet, but the voice which shouted back said they weren’t looking for a drink. This got Gary’s defences up and suddenly the door was busted down. Right away Gary began to use his ability by conjuring fire and throwing a couple of balls. Unfortunately a couple of them were specials also and had the Super Speed ability and were managing to dodge most of his attacks leaving the balls of fire to scorch the walls of the bar instead.
The fight went on for a good twenty minutes while one of them kept shouting in their thick Italian accent for Emilie. Naturally Gary wasn’t about to give up the whereabouts of his daughter, which led to more fighting. As his temper took over, his ability went into over kill and soon enough he was tearing up the floor and throwing icicles which he had manipulated from water. Eventually from what Gary could tell he had managed to scare them off, but he decided to keep a low key until he was certain they had gone, so he could then contact Emilie and find out if she was alright. If they couldn’t shake them off, they might have to move to another State and start all over again. Not something Gary was too happy about.
A short while later he heard Emilie yell on him, she was in the bar, he wasn’t too happy about that, in case some of the guys were still hanging around. He didn’t answer her, as he thought if he did then everything might go horribly wrong if some of the guys were still around. Then he heard a male voice shout for him. He knew this was Matt, the guy Emilie had went on a date with, the same guy he had told off a week prior in how he spoke to his daughter. He decided to come out of his hiding hole and walked out into the main bar shaking his head at the scene. It was going to cost heaps to fix it, thankfully he had insurance, how he was going to explain away the damages he had no idea however.
“I’m here Matt. Those fucking mafia came looking for Emilie. I thought she was going to be safe, but I’m obviously wrong. I might have to move her away from here. Where is she anyway?” He asked, as he came toward Matt rubbing at his furrowed brow with one of his hands. Gary himself was in a bit of a mess, from some of the blows he had taken from the guys attacking him, cuts and bruises over his face and a few knife marks on his arms and torso, nothing deep, but definitely visible.

Matt watched as Emilie went to hide behind the bar, nodding at her as he turned back to where the noise had come from. He walked over cautiously, turning his fists to metal, spikes sticking out as he went around the corner, seeing Gary approaching him. "Mr Swan?! Are you ok?" Matt asked with a worried tone, walking up to him and observing his injuries. Bruises, knife cuts, he'd really gone at it. Gary however explained what had happened about the bar and asked where his daughter was. Matt nodded at him, the metal falling off of Matt's hands, as he turned around, looking back to the bar.
"She's behind there. Told her to..." Matt began before he stopped. There were 3 telepathic signatures in the bar, himself, Gary and Emilie. Then 4. Matt whipped his head around to the bar, sensing that Emilie and the other one was gone. He sped behind the bar, looking to see Emilie had gone."What the hell?!" Matt said as he looked up to Gary, his eyes wide with shock. "They had someone here... They knew we were coming... I knew they had to have a precog!" Matt said, as he banged his fists into the table.
He looked back to Gary, Matt's eyes burning with rage. "I swear to God, I'm going to get her back..." Matt said as he walked up to Gary, placing a hand on Gary's hand and Matt's hand began to glow slightly, as Matt absorbed his power. "You better stay here, I just mimicked your power so I can get your daughter back. Get to a hospital." Matt said as he released Gary's hand, a gust of wind circled Matt's left hand, while fire surrounded his right. The ground beneath Matt shook momentarily as Matt closed his eyes, focusing on the power itself.
He was able to switch it off, all the elemental effects he had made disappearing. "Sorry... Had to no time to ask..." He said with weak smile. Normally he asked when mimicking a power, but in order to get Emilie back, Matt needed all the power he could get.

When Gary made his way out toward the bar when he heard Emilie and Matt shout for him, he soon saw Matt but no Emilie. Matt was walking toward him and asking if he was alright. Gary nodded his head, “I’m fine Matt, and please, call me Gary, Mr. Swan is so formal.” Truth was Gary was far from fine, he’d just torn up his god damned bar trying to fight off the losers who had been looking for Emilie. But he knew his insurance would pay for the damages, he was more concerned about his daughter than his bar and his wounds were fairly superficial.
Gary had then asked Matt where Emilie was and Matt began to tell him that he had told Emilie to hide behind the bar but he trailed off, causing Gary to look at Matt with some concern. “You told her to what? What is it Matt?” Gary asked wondering why he had trailed off as he was speaking. Then Matt made his way around to the other side of the bar and when he exclaimed what the hell, Gary quickly went to where Matt was and noticed Emilie wasn’t there. “How the hell did those bastards get her?” Gary asked, although it wasn’t a question particularly aimed at Matt, it was just a question in general.
Then Matt spoke saying they had someone there and that they knew he and Emilie were coming to the bar and then added something about knowing they had a Precog and banged his fists on the table. Gary sighed. “Has Emilie told you about her past? I imagine she will have, I never wanted her to get back into that life Matt, I fear for her safety and for her life with those fucking idiots.” Gary’s voice was angry, but he wasn’t angry at Matt, just at the fact Emilie was back in their clutches. “It took a lot of hard work for Emilie to get over what they did to her; this will surely set her back again.”
Matt then spoke saying he swore he would get her back and then he walked up to Gary and touched him and Gary knew exactly what he was doing as he saw the glow around both their hands, he had just absorbed his power. This would usually have sent Gary into a rage at not being asked first, but this was exceptional circumstances. Matt then said he had mimicked his power so he could get Emilie back and he was to stay there and get to a hospital. Gary just shook his head, “You have to be kidding? You honestly think I’m going to go to a hospital and let you go find her by yourself? She’s my god damned daughter Matt, I’m coming with you, and these wounds are just superficial. They’re nothing.”
Gary then watched as Matt began to work with his new power, the power he had absorbed from him, he nodded his head, “You seem to be controlling it well, good for you.” Two of them with Elemental Control would surely get Emilie back easy enough? Matt then apologised for absorbing his power saying he had no time to ask. “It’s alright, usually I would have been pretty pissed, but I know your reason for doing it. So, what are we waiting for then?” Gary said as he headed toward the bar door hoping they would be able to track Emilie down. If they were using a Precog to get one step ahead of them, who was to say they didn’t have any other specials working for them who could get Emilie to a different state within seconds.
