December 20th, 2009
It had been a couple of weeks since Matt's fight with Sylar and ever since then, he had been looking for a way to beat him without actually displaying any abilities, as he figured out that Sylar could in fact mimic powers through observation, not just ripping open heads. So he dug through the archives, trying to find something about how to kill an immortal serial killer. However he found something else he wasn't planning to find.
Paintings. Paintings by an Issac Mendez. Matt had no idea who that artist was, but all the ones in the archive seemed to display Matt in them. A series of 3. One showed the young man manifesting his power... Identically to the way Matt had. He just stared at the first painting with awe, wondering how the artist could have captured that moment without being there. He then read the date of the painting, and it was painted in 2006. Matt didn't manifest his power until 2008... So the man knew two years in advance that Matt would have a power.
"Damn Precogs..." Matt mumbled to himself as he looked at the next painting. This hadn't happened yet, as it was an event Matt had not experienced. Him and a young man who he didn't know, trying to what appeared to be consoling a woman, the background around her bending as though she were warping it. He shook his head as he moved onto the next one, this painting showing a city with people on the ground, appearing to look dead, or fainted, with red glows around them...
Matt concluded that this girl was somehow going to kill all those people... He didn't know how, and he didn't know when... But he knew that he had to stop her. However the second painting had shown that he was with someone. So Matt took pictures of the paintings, putting them back where he had found them. As he walked to the crime lab, he wondered why the paintings were kept hidden from him. Why D'Costa felt the need to hide a heroic act, Matt would perform...
He'd inquire about that later as he reached the lab, getting onto the nearest computer. He uploaded the pictures and cross-referenced them to the databases, trying to find out who these people were. The list showed the following:
Matthew Tobruk (obviously) Ryan Linderman (Second Painting) Wanda Pietro (Second Painting) And various other people (Third Painting, All evolved humans)
It was seeing that this Wanda woman was going to kill all those evolved humans, and that Ryan was somehow a factor in stopping, or perhaps helping her. So he figured he'd track him down first. Matt closed his eyes as he focused on Ryan's face, having seen it on the screen, concentrating as he located him with his clairvoyance. He opened his eyes and teleported to his front door, the residence of Ryan Linderman. He rang the door bell, knowing he was home.
Matt however forgot to shut the computer off, and D'Costa walked into the crime lab moments after Matt had teleported out, having seen Matt snooping through the archives on surveillance, and saw the paintings uploaded on the screen. "Think you're so clever boy... Too bad you're already too late... The plan is already set into motion..." He merely whispered to himself as he closed the computer, walking to his office, whipping out his phone and dialing.
"D'Costa here... Operation Endgame begins now. Track the girl." He ordered, closing the phone with a smile on his face.

On this cold night of December a young man sits at a temporary hideout apartment in Washington. Shuffling threw paper work and files. Cases and specials that have escaped the company he worked for. This was the last known file that the company had possessed before the governments agents took over. Ryan set it down on the table. His fingers ran across the words. He read the text out loud. "The ability to alter the very aspect of reality as we know it. She must only speak the words for her power to activate and anything she says will become true." Ryan turned away for a moment to get a drink. He left the document on the table and walked to his coffee maker. Walking back with a hot beverage in hand he took a sip. Sitting back down at his table he noticed the file was missing a picture of the female said to hold the ability.
Ryan's actual home is in New York city, A large house left by his father along with his wealth, casino's and fortune. Ryan didn't do so bad himself becoming a famous singer and often a geneticist after finishing school. Ryan used to do all his work in his own home for the shear size of the house would provide cover for him. However lately Ryan felt like he was being watched. Like people were tracking him down. Ryan concluded his mother about this for she has been known to keep an eye on her children threw spys. Ryan loved his mother but knew she worried about the dangers he got into. His mother of course denied anything to do with the people following Ryan. Ryan just assumed it might be this new government division taking place of the old company. As a former agent Ryan liked to do things his own way. He normally worked alone because he didn't want to put anyones life in danger. He felt like the humans with no ability only put there lives to risk,
Ryan was burred up to his neck with this new file. He wanted to know who this new girl was who could bend reality. A knock at the door startled Ryan a bit as he drank his tea. The hot liquid burned his tung. Ryan quickly reapired the damage. He got up and walked to the door. Opening it reviled Matt standing there, "Hello sir, can I help you?" He asked Matt wondering who he was and why he needed Ryan. Ryan was allways nice to people even if he didn't know them. He felt like it would be rude not to invite the man in. "Come inside and take a seat if you have the time to do so." He offrered Matt. "Tea?" Ryan asked before pouring a cup for the man and sliding it over to him. Ryan then scrambled to get his files put away before Matt had a chance to notice them. Ryan was classified as having a high level ability from the government. His face most likley known to Matt at some point do to his job. But Ryan had been given a temporary hold off because of recent events and his past working with his mothers company.

Matt watched as Ryan opened the door, his face uncanny from the painting, as well as the computer database. Ryan asked how he could help him, and Matt nodded in an introductive manner, "Hello Ryan." He said in a polite tone as Ryan offered for Matt to come inside. Matt nodded and walked into the home, having a look around. The place needed a clean. Big time. Ryan then offered Matt some tea, and Matt shook his head. "No thanks. This isn't a social visit." He said as he watched Ryan putting away files frantically.
"You can keep those out. We're gonna need them later on. Especially about the girl." He said as he took a seat on a sofa, looking at Ryan with a smile. "My name is Matt, and I work for the secret service. Relax, you're not in trouble." He said, assuring Ryan that he was no way being hunted this time. Not by Matt at least. "Take a look at these." He said, tossing his phone to Ryan so that he could see the two paintings about the girl.
"I know you know about her. So do I. And we need to get to her before she hurts those people." He said, looking at Ryan with serious look. "I normally work alone, but those paintings were made by a guy named Issac Mendez. He could paint the future. They say you're with me." He said while eyeing a file in Ryan's hand. "You think those Company files are detailed? The government's is more detailed... Especially when Building 26 was operational." He said as he looked around the apartment before back to Ryan.
"So... You want to find this girl with someone capable of locating anyone and teleporting anywhere?" He asked him.

It was clear that Matt wasn't here to socialize. He immediately reviled that he knew about the girl Ryan was just reading about. Ryan wondered how he knew such a thing. Could he see threw walls or perhaps read minds? Ryan was told he could keep the files out for they will need them later on. He told him he knew about the girl in his one sentence and made it sound like this girl was the reason he had came. Ryan raised an eyebrow. "Alright." He said confused and bewildered that Matt knew about these things. Matt smiled to him which made Ryan feel at ease. As if this wasn't going to get violent but he still didn't trust Matt. Not until the man introduced himself.
"Nice to meet you Matt. I'm sure that you already know that my name is Ryan Linderman." Ryan introduced himself knowing that this guy seemed well informed and would have known Ryan as all agents knew there background checks for working on special cases. Ryan caught the phone in hand as Matt tossed it to him. He looked at the paintings. "So that's her, That's the girl who can bend reality? She looks like she's going to kill all of those people. Its a shame shes still so young." Ryan looked at the pictures out of order. He was in the second picture. "Looks like were working together here." Ryan said with a smirk. Matt was telling the truth after all.
"I'm not going to hide it from you. Or rather I wont be able to hide out my information from you even if I tried. I do know about her but not allot of information has been brought to my attention. I have only a small file on hand with basic information. I was going to investigate further but with a reality bender you cant afford to make the wrong move. I definitely could use some help with this case. Ryan laughed as the man told him that the paintings were made by Issac. "Issac panted allot of paintings that was said to be of the future. He created a comic book known as the 9th wonders. Apparently I'm a character in a new series of these. There now drawn by a man calling himself Ray Nekawa. He is able to converse with Issac and has obtained his ability in death."
Ryan and Ray had met in the past and thus Ryan had become one of Ray's heroes along with eight others in the comic. They all followed different paths of heroism. Ryan threw Matt one of the copies. "Turn to page three." Ryan told Matt. It depicted Matt and Ryan having this conversation. It later on page four reviles that Ryan and Matt arrive in the middle of a busy city street. "I know that your government has more resources and man power but those of us on the outside arnt totally clueless." Ryan told Matt with a smile.
Matt reviled two abilities he had. The first ability was that he was able to locate anyone and the second was teliporting then also he knew about what Ryan was doing before Ryan explained to him what the files were. "I can tell your stronger then you look so I'm going to have to take you up on your offer. It might seem like are future is all ready laid out for us but if there was anything I learned is that the future is always changing with each session we make. Lets go find this girl together." Ryan told Matt.

"Nice to meet you Ryan, and yes I do know you. I read your file." Matt said as a reply to Ryan's introduction/ question. He listened as Ryan spoke about the girl, Matt nodding as he spoke. "I would assume so... And how do you know her power?" Matt asked Ryan, unaware of the girl's ability until just moments ago. If she was a reality shifter, then this just got a whole lot harder. Matt had taken on one a couple of months ago, who only change reality within a certain distance of himself, but it was enough to make him an extremely high level threat.
"I don't work with anyone. You're just tagging along, because that painting says so." He said with a gruff voice, the idea of working with others not appealing to him. Sure Emilie had softened him a little... but he was still a hard-ass most of the time. However when Ryan had said he was researching her as well, Matt raised a brow. "And why would that be? What use is a reality shifter to you?" He asked him, curious of his intentions now. Perhaps the painting didn't depict Ryan as a helper, more as a cause of the woman killing everyone. However paintings did say 1000 words, so Matt wasn't jumping to conclusions... yet.
When Ryan spoke about a comic called 9th Wonders which was made by Issac, and how it was taken by someone who had copied Issac's ability, Matt just scoffed. "A comic book that predicts the future? Seriously? That's a bit stupid." Matt said as Ryan tossed him a copy, telling him to turn to page 3. The cover was the painting of the girl Matt had in his phone. Matt's face instantly changed into one of mild shock as he opened the book, turning to page 3 to see panels of Matt and Ryan talking, one panel showing that Matt was looking at a comic in shock.
"What the hell..." Matt simply said, ignoring Ryan's comment about the government and such. Ryan then replied to a comment from Matt, saying that he sensed Matt was stronger than he looked, and that the future could change anytime. Matt closed his eyes and focused on the girl's location as Ryan proposed to find the girl, Matt's eyes opening and his face changing into one of disappointment. "Yeah, if only we could find her... During your little speech there, I tried to locate her... No luck... She must be blocking it with her power..." Matt said as he looked at Ryan's file.
"Wanna tell me whereabouts Wanda lives?" He asked.

Ryan figured Matt would have read up on him. He wasn't surprised with Matt's answer. Matt asked Ryan how he had known that the girl was able to shift reality. Ryan shrugged his shoulders. "My mom told me as she handed me the files. You see my mother can also see into the future like Issac could however my mom sees visions when she sleeps as opposed to drawing them. Apparently she had a dream about the girl using her powers. Her vision ended there as she must have altered reality effecting are common way of life." Ryan answered Matt as descriptive as he could be. Ryan gave Matt a concerned look. "She is already very powerful and can potentially make you and I disappear just by speaking the words. How do you plan to capture her or go about detaining her?" Ryan asked Matt worried if he became to hot headed he could wined up never existing.
Ryan was someone who tended to get along with most people. He worked well with others dispute also normally working alone. But Ryan just didn't find someone on his level yet to work side by side. Well not including his best friend Stefan that is. Ryan would never pull him away from his love Jo. "I understand I wont get in the way of how you operate but in the spirits of success we should do this as a team." Ryan offered words of advice to Matt. It wasn't every day that he had to convince people he had a knack for this type of thing. And most people didn't share this knack for these missions. Ryan wondered if Matt did or not. He didn't really know him so why would he go along with Matt who for all he knew could be a hot headed trigger happy crazy person.
After admitting that he was researching the girl also Matt asked him why and what use a reality shifter would be to him. Ryan looked surprised by the question. "Well it's not so much that I personally want her, It's that I like things how they are. You know two plus two equals four. The reality bender is able to change anything in this world they want to. I just want to find her and make sure she wont use her powers to destroy are very logic. It's not like I'm planing to do something evil or anything like that." Ryan told Matt with a slight giggle as if he would ever do anything evil. Well while he had control anyway.
Ryan laughed a little as shock came over Matt as he seen the comics wounder. Well it wouldn't have been so funny if Matt hadn't bad mouthed the idea of it before saying it was stupid a comic could predict the future. Even though the man was in shock Ryan wanted an answer to his comments. He didn't like to be ignored in such a way. Ryan brushed it off as he didn't want to cause discomfort in there working together. After ward Matt seemed to ignore Ryan even more as he tried to make conversation with him. It was clear that Matt wanted to do this as quick as possible and negate personal relationships. Ryan understood this type of model agent. No feelings no emotions there only goal was to complete there missions. Ryan was used to this type of government agent having dealt with them before.
Matt asked Ryan were she lived. It seemed that he couldn't use his ability to locate her. "I am not sure were she is," Ryan confessed looking threw the files." They say nothing about her residence or home however there's a picture of a family she has been spotted with." Ryan unclipped the attached picture of the family and slid it to Matt. "Try to locate them and then we will find the girl."

Matt told Ryan that he has done his homework on him. Saying his mothers name proved that to be true. "Yeah." Yes was the only answer Ryan could give as Angela was his mother. This was when Ryan asked Matt how they would stop the reality bender. Matt's comment sort of bothered Ryan a little bit. "What do you mean by make her do something that will save us all? I told you we shouldn't mess with reality like that. If your planing to use her to fulfill something you desire I think it's a big mistake." Ryan tried to warn Matt.
Matt then noticed the file on himself. He asked Ryan how the company had obtained information on him. Ryan smirked a little. "Oh yeah that's right. I remember reading about you now. It seemed that you were brought in by the Haitian before your powers manifested in 2006. After Issac depicted your abilities awakening they ran tests on you to see what causes these powers to activate and tried to suppress the genes so you would have never been able to access them. The Haitian whipped your memory before they sent you on your way. It would just seem like you feel asleep when you came to. When did you obtain your powers? In the comic you obtain them in the year 2007." Ryan confessed to Matt as he remembered who he was. "Sorry I didn't catch that right away. It was a while since I last read these files." Ryan apologized. He didn't want it to seem like he was withholding information from Matt.
Matt again stated that he was here only because of the painting depicting that they were there together. Ryan nodded, "OK I get it." Ryan replied quickly and not to enthusiastic. Later on Matt tried to locate the family the girl was around. But no such luck as the family seemed to be dead. "That power of yours seems to be getting us no were. We don't have time to be trying to locate her. Are you able to teliport us into the place were at in the painting? Its just a few blocks from here. I recognize it as I drove past that statue on the way into the city." Ryan pointed to a statue in the background. "If the painting says we end up there then lets just skip to the end of the line sort to speak." Ryan suggested, If the only people that might connect them to her were gone then the next best thing was to find the places she might be at or places were someone might have important information.
Ryan still couldn't believe that she had killed the family. "She sounds like a villain to me. Killing a whole family like that. If worse comes to worse your plan to talk with her might have to have a more hands on approach. If she starts to say anything that will cause havoc around here we need to somehow get her to stop talking. If you can get her to close her mouth, I can make sure she keeps it shut." B doing this they will disable her ability. However that's only worse case. Still it wouldn't hurt if they had a plan instead of just doing this head on. Matt asked Ryan were the picture was taken. He lined it up with the painting. "It could just be me but the bricks in the buildings look like they match up. The files don't say were the photo was taken. I think this place I told you about might be are only shot"
(ooc: shit im sorry matt i modified your post before this one with the post i just typed and then i couldn't get back to your original one. so i deleted it. my bad at least i replied before i screwed it up lol. im so sorry thats what i get for trying to post half asleep.)

Matt saw that Ryan was bothered by the fact Matt had said he planned to use the girl to do something that would save them all. His comment, which sounded more like a warning, made Matt chuckle a little. "No... Nothing like that. If she can bend reality, then she's not immune to it's effects. So therefore, we trick her into de-powering herself. That way no more reality bender, those people survive and this girl gets to live a normal life." Matt said with a stern face, looking at a file which had his name on it.
After asking Ryan about the file, Ryan explained that the file was indeed about Matt and explained about what the Company did. He explained how they had attempted to halt his powers, as well as wiped his memory. "Wow... First of all that file and the comic are bogus, I manifested in 2008." Matt said, as he looked at Ryan. "And after we deal with this shifter, I'm gonna have a nice talk with your mother about this..." Matt said with a serious tone.
As Ryan suggested teleporting to the location in the painting, since they had no other leads, Matt shook his head. "Not yet... We don't know if this is the best bet yet..." Matt said, turning to the file on the shifter, having a look through. There's got to be a lead... There's got to be... Matt thought to himself as he heard Ryan's comment about the girl being a villain. He ignored most of the other stuff he said, Matt's head whipping up with a stare that could kill.
"That's not fair... We don't know her story. For all we know, she's simply a girl who can't control her power... That's why we're going to help her, not kill her or knock her out." Matt said with a poisonous tone. He knew more than others about how much a powerful ability could be a burden to one's self. However Ryan did manage to find a lead, when the building in the photo matched one in the painting. Matt nodded as he walked over to Ryan, placing a hand on Ryan's shoulder.
"That's all the proof I need..." Matt said as he teleported the pair to the city streets, immediately seeing a sight he wasn't expecting. "Oh no..." Matt said as he observed the scene. People on the floor, eyes rolled back and looking as though they were dead. Red glows surrounded the heads as Matt looked to Ryan. "We're too late...." He said with a truly shocked tone.

At first when Matt told him that he had a plan to save them all Ryan was worried he would do something reckless. Ryan not wanting to change the reality in any way was obviously agents the idea. However Matt explained himself and Ryan saw that he had more brains then he thought he had. Ryan nodded, "I'll leave that to you then. I have to admit that's a good plan." Ryan told Matt. Much better then his own plan but he didn't want to take any chances when dealing with this girl. If shes intelligent and catches on to what there trying to do then Matt's plan will blow up in his face. That risk was to great to take in Ryan's eyes. But this was the best way to go about things from a morally correct stand point. Ryan favored it if he knew it would work.
After explaining that the company attempted to halt his abilities and whipped his memory of the ordeal Matt told him that both the file and comic book was bogus. Ryan shook his head no. "The comic says that you manifested in 2007 the painting he later drew says 2008. After the company tried to halt your abilities. It worked but not how they hoped. Before they did anything to you you would have manifested in 2007 but after it was only for one year that your abilities were delayed to manifest." Ryan explained more detailed now. He tried to attempt to talk less with Matt as he felt he was being ignored half the time.
Matt told Ryan that he would have to have a talk with his mother after this whole thing was over. Ryan gave a little sigh. "Sorry man she had no part in that. At the time my father was running the company. It's impossible to talk with him now as he is dead." Ryan told Matt in a sad tone as he looked away. Though Ryan and his father didn't really have the best relationship he still loved him unconditionally. It was because of his father that Ryan wanted to heal the world.
It seemed as if Ryan struck a nerve when he called the girl a villain. Matt told him that it wasn't fair. Saying it might be her ability that she couldn't control. Ryan also lost control of his abilities when he felt overwhelmed with negative emotions. However he didn't use his abilities as an excuse for his actions even during those periods of time. "I view abilities as apart of there host. If she killed them with her powers by mistake she's still responsible for her crimes." Ryan simply told Matt. Killing was killing and killers in Ryan's eyes were villains. It might seem like a one track mind but that was the only way justice would be served. "We all have a story but taking a life is something that can never be replaced."
Matt soon accepted the lead Ryan discovered. As they arrived on the street the sight they saw was horrible. This was the image from the painting playing out before there eyes. Matt and Ryan stood there looking shocked while the people looked seemingly dead with red glows above there heads. Matt uttered the words that they were to late. Ryan balled his fist in anger. "Damn it!" He shouted upset with himself and the situation. Ryan walked up to one of the people on the floor. He touched there head and closed his eyes. searching for the cause of there state. "This is strange. All of there brains are removed from there bodies without any damage to the rest of there bodies. The red glow is a side effect of blood mist with no were else to go but to seep out of there heads pours." Ryan explained the condition to Matt while still continuing to use his powers to discover what happened. "We have to move on and find that girl now." Ryan stood up and begin walking threw the field of death.

Matt just shook his head as Ryan explained what he thought of the girl. She was someone probably scared of her power. Scared of what she was capable of. And this guy thought that even if she had no control, she did kill those people, so she's accountable. Matt thought it was a really backwards way of thinking. But he wasn't going to comment on it. He already had his plan set and no one was going to stop him this time. He'd failed at helping others like this before... This time was going to be different.
So when they appeared at the scene of the painting, Matt watched as Ryan examined the people, saying their brains had been removed without any damage to their bodies, and the red glow was actually blood. "This... This is worse than I thought... We have to find her now!" Matt said as he followed Ryan through the crowd, avoiding all the bodies on the floor, before Matt reached out and stopped Ryan by placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Wait... Look." Matt said as he pointed ahead. There was a little boy standing up among the crowd. He was no older than 3. He just stood there, his back turned to Matt and Ryan. "He survived..." Matt said as he ran up to the boy with super speed. "Hey kid, ar... OH MY GOD!" Matt said, stepping back with shock after he had seen the boy. His face was gone. Nothing. No eyes, mouth nose... Nothing.
"What the hell..." Matt said as he looked to Ryan with a shocked look before he felt sick. He held back the first wave of upchuck, turning around and coughing as he vomitted onto the ground, the sight of the boy with no face too sickening for him.

Ryan was often a reasonable guy but after trying to help out so many people with abilities he learned that in order to help some people overcome there powers and live like normal humans everything must fall into place perfectly. The trouble with that was that nothing is ever perfect. Ryan had tried and tried to stop people with powerful abilities by making them able to control themselves the way Matt wanted to now. However to many times the events played out with more people's lives being put in the cross fire and some even dieing as a result. From then on Ryan swore he wouldn't let this happen again. He wouldn't risk the lives of many for one even though it was looked upon as back-wards thinking. In the words of his mother choose the lesser of two evils.
Agreeing with what Ryan had stated about having to find the girl right now Matt and Ryan continued to walk threw the field of bodies. It was disgusting and horrifying. Insects already making there way into the warm crevasses of the corpses. Ryan grew sad as he thought of there families and what they will be thinking about after there informed of it. This tragedy would surly be on the news and evolved humans will be put into the spot light as uncontrollable. Anger will build up within the population and those with abilities reviled to the public could be faced with discrimination and so forth. Ryan didn't want that to happen at all but there was a strong possibility the events could be played out that way.
Among the pile of dead bodies a small figure in the shape of a child stood up. Matt noticed him first and informed Ryan. Feeling the hand on his shoulder he stopped. Ryan looked as he was told and saw the child also after Matt ran there with his super speed. Ryan followed up behind him taking a bit longer before reaching the two. When he finally reached them Matt was puking off to the side, The young boy stood there with no eyes nose or lips. Skin covered his entire face. Do to the nature of Ryan's ability he didn't share the same emotions Matt shown. Ryan was used to this sort of thing and built up a stomach to handle it. However seeing the child like that did give him a feeling of pain in the pit of his stomach despite that fact.
Ryan walked up to the boy now. He whispered in his ears. "Be brave little guy." Ryan rubbed his hands on the boys face cutting off the nerve endings temporarily. Ryan extended his pointer finger and a small piece of his bone popped out of his skin forming a blade. Ryan used it to cut the boys face were he would preform surgery. He laid the boy on his backside as the child began to squirm with pain. "Matt can you restrain him for me?" He asked nicely. Ryan continued to cut were his eyes nose and mouth was once before. Ryan ripped his own eyes out of his sockets. Blood dripping down and white pus seeped out as Ryan closed his eyes tightly from the pain. As he opened them he had his eyes back. He regrew new ones. Ryan placed his old eyes into the sockets he made on the boys face. He then riped off his own lips and placed them on the boys mouth cut. After Ryan was finished he rubbed the boys face and newly features. His eyes turned from green to dark brown his lips grew pinkish and everything seemed to fit in place. Ryan reactivated the boys nerves as the final step in the surgery.
The boy's cries echoed in the vacant city. He ran over to Matt afraid of Ryan. The process was painful and it would seem like torture However it had to be done for the child to live normally. Once the nerves fully pick up on the pain he could go into shock. "I know how important this mission is Matt but my powers have there weaknesses or price if you will. The surgery I just did would put allot of strain on his mind and he could go into shock at any time while he adjusts to the new features. Could you use your ability to teliport him to a hospital?" Ryan asked Matt knowing that time to capture the reality shifter was growing thin.
