After Stacey had made the comment on hoping that Beth was a good a friend to her as Dom was her at Ebony's age, she saw how Ebony was. Though that worry soon disappeared when she heard her teenage daughter say that she thinks Beth is. "Well that's good." Stacey gave her a bright smile, liking that her daughter had someone that she could possibly rely on as much as she needed to.
When Stacey suggested that Ebony stay with them, not having it any other way, David replied, pretty much agreeing with her about that suggestion. Stacey gave Ebony a smile, hoping she would take up the offer, though heard her speak, talking about having to talk to Beth though. "Okay. Well when you know, you let me know, okay? If you are staying with her or something, I guess we can't hold you hostage here. But it might be nice to have you around till you have to go back." Stacey glanced at David, and kind of shrugged, not knowing what else to say to that topic.
Stacey wanted to hear about why Ebony was here to see them, but David soon spoke, asking her about if Beth was here because of the airport disaster. The look that Ebony was giving them was like something that Stacey knew she would do, like the question had taken her by surprise, or maybe it was the truth of why her friend was here. Her latter thought was right, as Ebony spoke of why Beth was here. Hearing that it was alright now, made Stacey sigh a little, "Well that is good to hear. Would hate for your friend to be here on her own. Though she is more than welcome to come and stay here as well."
Hearing why Ebony was here was hard to take from Stacey, she had reacted the only way she knew how, basically refuse to talk about it, or rather not know how. So Stacey left the room, and headed into baby Ebony's nursery, talking to the sleeping baby. After that she just leant on the cot and then started to cry. She just couldn't believe that this heartbreaking story was asked about, and she just didn't want to rehash over it all. It had been bad enough to tell David, a complete stranger at the time, who now seemed to know her better than she knew herself. Stacey now felt bad for leaving them both in the lounge, but she couldn't face her past, not now.
Stacey closed her eyes, still very much upset, as she felt a pair of all too familiar arms around herself, and David's chin resting on her shoulder. As she continued to cry, Stacey heard what David had to say. Hearing it all just made her feel sick, and she just wanted to block out what he was saying. She didn't want to talk about it. Full stop. Stacey had to put her foot down, and she would just have to brush it under the rug once again, hiding it from herself and her teenage daughter from the future.
But the words that David had said were ringing in her ears. She started to feel the tears subsiding, and soon knew that David was right. Stacey wondered if Ebony had asked a lot, or just once. Though if it was her, she would have asked a few times, so she guessed that Ebony might have asked in her time a few times. Stacey then felt David turn her to face him, and when she was looking at him, she put one hand up to her face to wipe at her eyes. She swallowed a little to clear her throat, and then David spoke more.
Stacey let out a sigh, knowing that what David was saying was true. Ebony had a right to know. She gave him a shrug, looking away from him. "I guess you are right. But you are always right." As soon as she said that, Stacey regretted it. She slowly put a hand on the side of his face. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that." Stacey then wrapped her arms around him, giving him a gentle hug, resting her head on his chest. "I guess I had better go out there and tell her the truth then." Stacey slowly pulled out of the embrace, and took David's hand in her own, leading them both out to the lounge.
Stacey looked at Ebony, just sitting there, and bit on her lip a little. She dropped David's hand, and then looked at Ebony. "I guess firstly I want to apologise what I did then. And secondly, I think that you are about to hear is going to be hard, but as your father just told me, you deserve to hear the truth." Stacey took a deep breath, and sat down beside Ebony, and then took her hand in her own. "I met Jake Hanniger back in collage, where we had some fun, and I kind of slept with him on more than one occassion. When I thought that I had ditched him, he would come back into my life. I finished collage, and just did my own thing for a while. Some things that I am not proud of, I can tell you that."
Stacey looked at David, and then turned back to Ebony to continue. "Last year I ran into him again. I felt that he had changed, but apparently not, and I guess neither did I as I slept with him again. Two weeks later I met a man by the name of Brendan Harris, who you know about, as I feel that I would still be friends with Debbie, his sister in the future." Stacey studied Ebony's face to see if this was true. "Weeks went on, and I soon found out that I was pregnant, with you. I just presumed that you were Brendan's, but when I was four months pregnant, I soon realised that in fact you were Jake's, not Brendan's. The relationship with Brendan didn't end well when he found out who the father was. This was due to when I first met Brendan, my drink was spiked with an ability enducing drug, and Jake had been the one to put that into my drink. He had been sent to jail, after Brendan found him out to be the culprit."
"Jake got out of jail somehow, I still don't know how he got out, despite him being charged for dealing drugs, or whatever it was. So now you know that your biological father is no good. He is in on drugs, and whatever else he deals." Stacey turned to really look at Ebony, looking right at her. "Please done try and find him. I would hate for anything to happen to you, or find out what a loser he really is. I never want you to ever find guys like him as well. Not sure what I have said to you in your time, but hopefully I have warned you not to go after the bad boys." Stacey waited to see what Ebony might say to all of that. And she was surprised that she didn't break down during any of that. It was easier than she thought.

When Stacey had asked Ebony about her friend Beth being as good a friend to her as Dom had been to her at that age it seemed to David that Ebony was a little unsure when she replied. Maybe unsure wasn’t the right word, but the therapist in him could see that maybe she wasn’t too comfortable with the topic of conversation. It did make him wonder why that would be when this girl was supposed to be her best friend. The therapist in him so much wanted to dig more and ask why she seemed uncertain in her response but he then began to figure that he may have done that a lot to her over the years and maybe it wouldn’t be welcome, so he decided to let it go without saying anything but he knew it would keep circling around in his head.
When Ebony had made the comment about pinching her to make sure that she was there and real David and Stacey had both made a remark about it not being necessary. When Ebony gave that warm smile he could see that it mirrored Stacey’s perfectly, they really were so alike in many ways. Ebony then said as long as they believed her that was all that mattered. David nodded his head smiling brightly at her, “We believe you sweetheart.” Well David already had an idea who she was earlier just through the resemblance and mirrored gestures. Then talk of Beth’s power not working came into play and Stacey had said that Ebony would have to stay with them which David had agreed on. Ebony said that she thought it would be okay but she might have to talk to Beth though. David nodded his head wondering why Ebony would have to talk to Beth first, surely she would be staying with her parents or someone she knows in this time but again it just got his mind going into overdrive.
Stacey then spoke more about it saying that it would have been nice to have her around before she had to go back but to let them know once she had spoken to Beth. “I have to agree that it would be nice to spend some time with you.” David added giving both Stacey and Ebony a smile. After David had made sure that Ebony wasn’t in this time to stop something awful from happening to either of them Ebony had quickly told them that it was her friend Beth who had come back from the future to do something and David’s mind had started turning over wondering if it had anything to do with the plane disaster. So he had asked Ebony just that and Ebony’s response seemed a little edgy like her earlier one where Beth was concerned and once more it got David thinking but again didn’t want to push anything but he knew it was going to annoy him if he kept letting every single thought pass by unquestioned. David knew that it was the flight that Dominic was supposed to have gone on but there would have been many more people going on that flight so it didn’t mean that this girl had stopped Dom from going on the plane but for some reason his mind kept going back to the way Ebony was with Beth’s name being mentioned earlier and now this too. This Beth couldn’t be Dom’s daughter could she? It wasn’t even as if Dom had said he and Sam were trying for a baby but he did remember Stacey saying at one point that Dom’s mom had offered to carry a baby for him whenever he wanted to have one.
He looked at Ebony and gave her a warm smile, “Well that’s good then, that everything worked out.” Stacey had pretty much said the same thing and then said that she would hate for her friend to be on her own although she was welcome to come and stay with them too. David again nodded his head, “If she has nowhere to stay then naturally she can stay here also, we do have the room; that is if it’s okay with Beth.” David’s mind went back to the airport disaster again and the way Ebony seemed to be acting around it all, in fact the way she was acting around any mention of Beth. He leant in to Stacey then, “Did Dom say anything to you about the airport disaster he got caught up in Stacey? You guys are really close and I remember catching glimpses of it on the news throughout the day. I mean how come he didn’t get on the flight along with everyone else, do you know?” He decided to speak to Stacey about it just to see if he could get any sort of rise out of Ebony over it, to watch her reaction and facial expressions over it rather than asking Ebony outright if this friend was Dom’s daughter. With David being a therapist he was good with how the mind worked and for Ebony to be very uneasy over the whole Beth being as good a friend as Dom was to Stacey at their age just had his mind going round and round thinking about it all.
Then Ebony had revealed her reason for being there and the so called shit hit the fan to a point as Stacey said she couldn’t talk about it and basically walked out of the lounge room and David had known where she had gone. David told Ebony that he was sorry for Stacey walking out and how it was hard on Stacey and that they had probably told her before now that Stacey and David had met through therapy sessions. Ebony nodded her head without saying anything and then he told her that she wasn’t to go anywhere as he went to talk to Stacey. He had immediately wrapped his arms around her and rested his chin on her shoulder and spoke to her softly telling her what he thought about it all and that she should just tell Ebony the truth and let her make her own mind up. Basically if it all went wrong for Ebony that they would just have to be there to pick up the pieces if it all fell flat on her. He wasn’t sure how Stacey would react to what he had said however because he knew that the subject of Jake was a very touchy one and to be fair he would rather Ebony didn’t know about him either, but could they really stop her from contacting her biological father if it was what she wanted? He didn’t think they could.
Stacey didn’t really say anything for a while but in a way David hadn’t expected it. He knew she would be thinking about what he had said and be thinking about what to do next. David had then turned Stacey to face him and he saw her wipe at her eyes and then he had spoken some more and then he heard her sigh. He wondered then what Stacey was going to say next as sighs were never a good sign. She shrugged and then looked away from him and David remained his calm self like he always did and then Stacey spoke saying she guessed he was right but then he was always right. It did hurt him for a split second. “You know that isn’t true Stacey. When you were haemorrhaging giving birth to Ebony I did think once or twice that you were going to die, I wasn’t right then and thank goodness for that.” However he realised he didn’t really need to say that as he felt Stacey’s hand on his face and she was soon apologising saying she shouldn’t have said that. “It’s okay honey I know this isn’t easy for you, it’s not easy for me either trust me.” For all intents and purposes Ebony was his daughter so this was hurting him just as much but he knew that Ebony had a right to know her biological father, or to at least know who he was.
Stacey then said she guessed she had better go out and tell her the truth then and took David’s hand in her own leading them back to the lounge room. David followed her through and she soon dropped his hand as she began to speak to Ebony apologising and saying that what she about to hear was going to be hard but as David had said she deserved to know the truth. David then watched as Stacey sat down and took Ebony’s hand and began to relay the story to her. David sat down next to Stacey and kept a hand on her back as if to give her support while she spoke about it all. He didn’t interrupt at all, letting Stacey get it all out and he had to admit that he was immensely proud that she managed to get through it all without really getting upset. David didn’t feel that there was anything he could really say at this point because this was really between mother and daughter but if either of them asked him anything or looked to him for any sort of support then he would gladly speak up, but for now he sat quietly and waited to see what Ebony was going to say to it all, especially to the part where Stacey asked Ebony not to find him. Somehow he didn’t think that was going to sit too well with Ebony and he was sitting waiting for the fireworks to start.

When she heard her mother say that it would be nice to have Ebony around till she had to go back, Ebony nodded a little. Then David spoke, saying that it would be nice to spend some time with her. “Well I will see what I can do.” She gave them both a smile, but knew that the reason she was really here was going to really hit them, and then wondered if they would want her around after they heard what she had to ask.
When David questioned her about if Beth was here because of the airport disaster, Ebony was taken aback, but soon spoke, hoping that they would just take what she said to be the truth. Well it was, in a way, she just left out the name of the person she was wanting to stop being hurt. Ebony had seen her mother look at her, and hoped that she hadn’t given anything away. Though, David and Stacey soon said that it was good to hear that everything was alright. Ebony nodded, quickly smiling, “It is good news. It was quite a disaster I must say.” David commented on what Stacey said, about Beth being more than welcome to stay as well, as they had the room. Ebony nodded, not really sure what to say, but decided to reply nonetheless. “Well I guess all I can do is talk to her about it. And then let you guys knows.” She gave them a smile, hoping that that would be a good enough answer for now.
Just when Ebony thought that that part of the conversation was over, her father had to talk to Stacey about Dom and the airport disaster. Ebony didn’t know where to look. She looked down at her hands, and then instantly began to play with her bracelet, like she always did when she was unsure or just too emotional. She listened to what David had to say, and wondered if he was putting two and two together. Ebony prayed that he wasn’t, as she didn’t want to be the one to explain the whole thing to them. Really, it was not her place, it was Beth’s, and they didn’t have to know about it. Though she gathered that in the end Uncle Dom might just tell them straight out, cause really they knew that Ebony was here from the future, so why not his daughter from the future as well? Though, Ebony hoped that the current discussion would be over soon.
It was killing Ebony inside, just sitting there waiting and hoping for her mum to come back out and tell her about her biological father. This was not how she had imagined it. She had hoped that in the future her mother would finally tell her the whole story about her biological father, and then maybe see about tracking him down in her time. But no, it was going to work out like this, talking about him in the past timeline, and then tracking down Jake when she was only really baby in this time. As her thoughts raced around in her head, she watched as her mum and dad came out, hand in hand, back into the lounge room. Stacey then spoke, firstly apologising, and then commented that what she was about to say was going to be hard, but she deserved to hear the truth. Ebony nodded a little, now feeling a little scared of what she was going to be told. Maybe she shouldn’t have come and asked about her biological father. Maybe she should have taken Beth’s advice, and just left it. But no, this was Ebony, and wanted to know about him no matter what.
Ebony watched her mother walk towards the lounge, and sit down next to her. She looked down at her hand that was now in her mum’s, and then looked up as she began to tell Ebony the story about her father, Jake. As she sat and tried to take it all in, what with the story starting from when her mother met Jake, Ebony didn’t know how to react. She of cause nodded, when her mother mentioned Brendan. Hearing that name made her smile a little, as she recalled a couple of times in the future that she had actually spoken to, and met, Brendan. When her mum said she felt that she would still be friends with Debbie, Ebony nodded. She liked Debbie, and was so glad that her mum had some good friends in her time, definitely one that were as supportive as Debbie was. Stacey continued her story, and hearing the part about when her mum was no longer in the relations hip with Brendan, it made her a little sad, making her look down at her lap. She knew from both her mum and dad that it had been a tough time on Stacey, but was glad that she had found David, and it all worked out in the end.
Though hearing about what Jake had been doing during that time made Ebony wonder again if this was such a good idea. She looked at Stacey, and then sat back, biting on her bottom lip. So her biological father was a no good loser, just great. Ebony looked towards the wall to her right, and blinked back a couple of tears that were now threatening to fall. She swallowed a little, hearing the rest of what her mum was saying to her about Jake. When Stacey began to say to Ebony to not try and find him, Ebony turned to look at her, with a sad expression on her face. This was not what she had wanted to hear. She wanted so much to find him, and see for herself what he was like. Though hearing everything that her mother had said about him, she was starting to have second thoughts. What were they going to say when she said next that she wanted to find him? Stacey then said that she wasn’t sure what she had said to her in Ebony’s time, but had hoped that she had warned her not to go after the bad boys.
Ebony blinked a couple of times. “We have had one or two talks about the kinds of boys you want me to go after. But I know what I told you in that time hurt you a little too.” She bit on her bottom lip a little, “I think rightly I told you that I could make my own decisions, and that you couldn’t stop me.” A tear fell from Ebony’s eye, which she couldn’t be bothered wiping away. “I wish I could take that back, but can’t now,” Ebony whispered. “When I go back I am going to apologise to you. And I hope you forgive me.” She hated fighting, but sometimes she just got too carried away with how she felt, and never considered what others might think or feel.

Stacey returned Ebony’s smile when she said she would see about what she could do, in regards to staying with them, and also maybe Beth saying with them. Stacey didn’t want her daughter’s best friend to be alone if Ebony did end up staying with them in the end.
Stacey listened to what Ebony commented about, in regards to the plane disaster, nodding. “It was definitely shocking on the television, especially when I heard that Dom was going to be on that plane.” Stacey then nodded when Ebony said that she could talk to Beth about staying with them. “Sounds good, Sweetheart.” She hoped that whatever was decided, that maybe Ebony would stay with them. It was kind of weird, but also nice to have their future daughter there with them. David then leaned into Stacey, asking her if Dom said anything to her about the airport disaster, since they were so close. Stacey shook her head. “I have tried a few times, but I guess that with everything that happened, he is wanting to be with Sam maybe. Though have tried Sam and he isn’t answering, so that might be the reason.” She gave him a smile, and turned to look at Ebony. Stacey frowned a little to see her daughter fiddling with her bracelet. She had seen Ebony do that before, and wondered what that meant.
Stacey knew what she had said to David was the wrong thing, and hearing him say ‘you know that isn’t true’ made her know that it was wrong. She heard him talk about what happened on that day of when she gave birth to Ebony, and it was starting to set off her emotions again. So he was now slowly opening up about what he was feeling that day, and Stacey was glad for that, not just thinking that he was keeping calm the whole time. Stacey had then apologised, saying she shouldn’t have said that. Sometimes she just spoke before she thought, and this was one of those times. David said that it was okay, and hearing him say that it wasn’t easy for her, and it wasn’t easy for him either, made her give him a sheepish smile. “Okay. But I still feel bad for saying what I said.” Stacey then took David’s hand in her own, and led them out to the lounge where Ebony was still hopefully sitting and waiting.
Stacey watched as Ebony just nodded, when she had apologised, adding that it was going to be hard to say, but she knew that Ebony deserved to hear the truth. Stacey then sat next to Ebony, and told her the whole story, from the beginning all those years ago. Stacey didn’t get much of a reaction from Ebony as the story unfolded, though when it came to the part about Brendan, she saw her daughter smile a little. So it seemed that she had maybe told her daughter about Brendan maybe. Who know, whatever the reason for this reaction, she knew that she would have to come back later and question it. The confirmed nod from Ebony, in regard to her knowing Debbie in the future made her smile at Ebony. It was good to know that she was still friends with her. She was still glad that she had pointed her in the direction of David when she was such a mess over the breakup with Brendan. Stacey continued on with her story, and saw Ebony look down when she mentioned the part where she and Brendan split. It was definitely a bad time in her life, one that she was glad to finally have moved on from despite loving Brendan so much. Stacey then mentioned the fact that Jake did all this stuff, and then he went to jail for it. Surely hearing all that would make Ebony think twice in seeing him? If he was still doing all of those things, he wasn’t worth the time of any of them. Stacey saw her daughter turn and look away from her. She watched her blink, and knew that the emotions were going to start getting the better of both of them soon.
To finish off the long story, Stacey asked Ebony not to try and find him, and saw Ebony turn back, with a sad look on her face. Stacey sighed a little, and continued to finish what she had started, saying she hoped that she had warned Ebony about not going after the bad boys. Hearing that they had had the talk a couple of times, made Stacey quite happy, though what was said next by Ebony was not good. Hearing what her daughter told her in the future, pretty much back chatting her brought make memories of her older sister back chatting their mum before she left the house and never came back. That, Stacey hoped, would never happen in the future. She swallowed back a lump in her throat, and watched a tear fall from Ebony’s eye. “Oh sweetie...” Ebony then continued to talk, hearing her talk in a quiet voice.
It definitely sounded to Stacey that Ebony was very sorry for everything she might have said to Stacey in the future. It seemed to her that she definitely had a lot of Stacey in her, and thank goodness for that. Though, she did wonder if she had anything of Jake in her also, as his DNA was part of Ebony as well. Stacey put her arms around Ebony, and gave her a warm hug. “I am sure that whatever was said in the heat of the moment, I have a feeling that I will forgive you. If not, then I am not sure what happened to me along the way.” She swallowed again, but felt a tear fall from her eye. After a couple of moments with Ebony in the embrace, she pulled away. “I guess I can’t stop you from seeing Jake. Though, I don’t want you to go alone. Do you want one of us to go with you?” Stacey didn’t want her to get in an trouble if and when she decided to go and see Jake.

{ooc - these posts are so big in this thread I hope I covered everything from both - if not I apologise - but do think most of the talking was between Stacey & Ebony the last two posts}
When David had asked Stacey if Dom had said anything to her about the airport disaster he had been trying to see if he would get some sort of reaction from Ebony about it as he was becoming more and more sure that there was more to this Beth than meets the eye because of the way Ebony reacted every single time Dom or Beth was mentioned. However Stacey shook her head and said that she had tried a few times and guessed with everything that had happened he just wanted to be with Sam and that Sam hadn’t answered either when she called him. David nodded his head, “I guess that does make sense honey.” He replied and glanced at Ebony to see if there was any sort of reaction from her this time. He saw that Ebony was fiddling about with her bracelet, something that he knew people did when they were nervous or unsure about something. He noticed it in his male and female clients, although with males they usually tended to mess about with their trousers or hands.
“I don’t want to pry too much, I guess it’s the therapist in me sweetheart, but every time Dom’s name is mentioned or even Beth’s for that matter I’ve noticed you bite on your lip or fiddle with your bracelet. I’m used to this sort of thing from patients you see. Is there a connection between Dom and Beth?” He asked as he glanced in Stacey’s direction to see what she would do or think to what he had just asked their future daughter. He couldn’t help but ask, everything just seemed too coincidental suddenly.
He looked at Stacey again, “I know it might seem a bit out of the blue to ask Ebony that honey, but you’ve mentioned before that Dom has said about being broody, I guess if Ebony can be here from the future, there is nothing to say that maybe Dom and Sam have a daughter in the future too?” He said to Stacey. He wanted to know for the simple reason that if this Beth was Dominic’s daughter then he would insist on Beth staying knowing that Dom and Sam were on a holiday together right now to get over the shock of the airport disaster.
After Stacey’s comment about him always being right he soon told her that wasn’t the case by opening up a little about his feelings the day he thought he was going to lose her when she was giving birth to Ebony and she had haemorrhaged badly. Stacey had then apologised saying she shouldn’t have said that and he had said it was okay saying it wasn’t easy for either of them. He could only give her a weak smile when she said okay but still felt bad for saying what she did. “Stacey honey we can all say things we wish we hadn’t in the heat of the moment.” He then leant in and gave her a kiss on the cheek and ran his hand through her hair slightly. “It’s fine.” Stacey then took David’s hand and led them both back out to where Ebony was hopefully still waiting and thankfully she was.
David could then only sit and listen as the story unfolded from Stacey for Ebony to hear. Stacey finished the story off by asking Ebony not to try and find Jake. David knew that Stacey wouldn’t want Ebony trying to find the guy who had been such a bad egg but he somehow had this feeling that telling Ebony that wouldn’t make much of a difference, if Ebony wanted to find him or see him then he was pretty sure she would do despite what Stacey told her. Ebony had then admitted that she had back chatted to her mom in the future a few times and apologised to Stacey now for it. David didn’t really expect much else because it was quite common for teenagers to go through rebellious stages. Somehow this part David didn’t think was in his place to intervene as it was an emotional moment between mother and daughter. It was up to Stacey how she handled what Ebony had just told her.
Thankfully Stacey seemed to deal with it quite well telling Ebony that she was sure that if whatever happened was said in the heat of the moment she was sure she would forgive Ebony. David had to nod his head agreeing with that. It was always easy to forgive people when you knew something was said in the heat of the moment. Stacey then said that she guessed she couldn’t stop her from seeing Jake but didn’t want her to go alone. This David could agree with and felt he could possibly say something. “I have to agree with Stacey, I wouldn’t want you to go alone either, not until we find out if he’s changed for the better.” David looked at Ebony as his own and he always would and he knew that Ebony loved him as her father, but the truth was, he wasn’t her father, he was only her dad, the man who adopted her and raised her, her father, the man who fathered her, was Jake. Stacey then asked Ebony if she wanted one of them to go with her. “I think that would be advisable, although not sure if I like the idea of you two going alone with no male protection just in case.” David said his worrying side coming out slightly, “Maybe I should go with you both if that’s the case, although someone needs to look after baby Ebony.”
He had said that because he wasn’t sure how Stacey would feel about it, but he certainly didn’t like the idea of baby Ebony being taken to meet up with Jake, it was going to be enough for the guy to meet his daughter from the future, never mind baby Ebony too, besides until David knew that Jake could be trusted he really didn’t want baby Ebony anywhere near him.

{ooc - sorry, and yes most of it was probably pointed to them both.}
Ebony listened to her mum speak of not hearing anything from Dom, and also Sam, after trying both of them. She kept quiet to see if the topic of discussion would just fade out now, but no. Ebony should have known that her father would just continue to pick up on things, and just keep going till he found out what the problem was. She should be used to it by now. In the corner of her eyes she saw them both look at her, first her mum, as Ebony fiddled with her bracelet, just another trait of hers that had started since she could remember. Ebony slowly stopped playing with it, though this still got noticed.
Hearing what her dad had to say made her swallow a little, and bit on her bottom lip. She instantly felt herself do this, and she quickly removed her teeth from her lip, and closed her mouth. Rolling her eyes, she knew she was going to be caught out, and just prayed that Beth wouldn't blame her for anything she may confess right now. Then she wondered if she could just lie through her teeth about it. Though she watched David then turn to Stacey and talk to her about it all, and Ebony guessed his theory of the whole thing. She sighed a little, waiting for him to finish talking, and then spoke. Here goes, she thought.
This time when she fiddled with her bracelet, she didn't care, "Yes. You are correct. Beth is Dom and Sam's daughter from the future." Ebony looked from David, to Stacey, and back to David. "Can we just drop this subject please?" It felt like an eternity to Ebony that they had been rehashing over this thing about the whole airport disaster, who the mystery friend was, and whatever else would be the reason for her so-called nervousness. She loved her parents, but sometimes, especially her dad, would just keep digging through the whole situation.
After her mum had spoken of the full story, and then adding her own little bits in there, made Ebony tell her that she was sorry for everything that she had said to Stacey in the future. Ebony felt her emotions start, and stray tear fell from her eye She heard her mum begin to talk, but the sentence trailed off. Ebony then continued to talk, and when she was finished, she felt her mum's arms around her, which definately brought on the water works. Ebony's arms went instantly around Stacey, hugging her tightly. Hearing what she had to say to Ebony, made Ebony nod, resting her head on Stacey's shoulder, through the tears.
Soon enough Stacey pulled away, and spoke of not being able to stop her from seeing Jake, but not wanting her to go alone either. Then David said he agreed with what Stacey had to say, adding more about the whole meeting Jake situation. Hearing her mum ask her if she wanted one of them to go with her made her smile a little. Just remembering that Beth had told her the same thing, and she agreed for her to come. How was she going to tell her parents from this time that her best friend was coming instead? David added more about what he thought, which Ebony knew he would, and shrugged a little. He continued, basically mapping out a basic plan already. "Well if you must know Beth is coming with me. But if you want some male to come, then I guess you are it dad." Ebony didn't really care, as long as she was able to go into where Jake lived on her own. "Just as long as I can meet with him face to face on my own. I will have my cell phone with me if I get in trouble."

Stacey nodded when David commented on what she said about not getting any response off of Dom or Sam about the airport disaster. She had then noticed what Ebony had been doing with her bracelet, and it would seem that she had noticed Stacey looking, and watched her slowly stop. She wondered if Ebony was really okay if she kept doing that, though for Stacey it was always the biting down on her lip when she was uneasy about something, or just wanted to fight the overactive emotions inside her.
Stacey though soon saw that move from her own daughter, when David questioned Ebony about what she was doing, and if there was a connection between Beth and Dom. Stacey couldn't deny that she wasn't curious, but really, that chance was a billion to one in her eyes. This Beth could just be here for other reasons, who knew. Though David then spoke to Stacey, and she listened to what he had to say. What he was saying was making sense to her though, and she had to wonder about this Beth. Though she, and David, soon got the answer. Stacey felt her eyes grow wide, and her mouth fell open, though she quickly closed it. "Oh my..." But then Stacey heard their daughter then ask if they could drop the subject. She wondered why, but she wasn't one to always push, so Stacey nodded, turning to David. "Maybe we should for now."
Stacey nodded a little, when David said that they could say things in the head of the moment. She then slowly closed her eyes when he kissed her on the cheek. Stacey didn't like fighting, and she was kind of glad that this little disagreement kind of disappeared. The feel of his hand running through her hair felt nice, and she knew that if teeage Ebony wasn't in the house, she might be a little turned on right then. Stacey then led them back out to the lounge room to talk to Ebony about Jake.
The warm embrace that Stacey initiated with Ebony felt right, and feeling Ebony move her arms around her made her smile a little. The idea of their teenage daughter being here didn't feel so weird anymore. It was like she was meant to see them or something, and in a way Stacey was glad to see how she grew up. Stacey pulled away from the embrace, and soon spoke of not being able to stop her from seeing Jake, adding that she didn't want her to go alone. David then came in saying he agreeded with what she had said, and nodded at what he said. None of them really knew what he was like now. For all they knew he was still the same asshole. Stacey then asked if she wanted one of them to go with her. Seeing that little smile made her feel a little unsure of what the answer was going to be, and looked at David.
He spoke more, and hearing what he said made sense. It probably was better for both of them to go, and then he spoke of getting someone to look after baby Ebony. Stacey was just about to suggest that maybe his mum could take her and look after her when Ebony spoke up. She turned to her, raised eyebrows, not really sure if that was a good idea, then heard her add about David coming. Stacey let out a breath, not really realising that she had been holding it in. "That I can live with." But then Ebony made a point of saying that she wanted to meet him face to face on her own. Stacey swallowed a little, not sure what to make of that idea in all honesty. It was bad enough when she was alone with Jake at her age back then, and she was older than Ebony.
Stacey sat back in the lounge, "I am not sure if I like that idea at all. I am okay with you seeing him if your dad is there as well, but not liking you seeing him on your own." Stacey bit on her bottom lip a little, looking down at her hands. She sat there for a little bit, just thinking about it more. It could be dangerous if he was still the same man she had known for all those years. Stacey looked at David, then slowly back at Ebony, "Maybe David and Beth could be there for the initial meet up, and when David feels that it is okay for you to be alone, then he will just step outside." Stacey looked at David, "What do you think?"

With Ebony constantly playing with her bracelet and biting on her bottom lip every time this Beth or Dom’s name was mentioned the therapist in David had come out and he couldn’t help but ask Ebony if there was a connection between Dom and Beth. When Ebony replied saying that he was correct and that Beth was Dom and Sam’s daughter. Stacey was first to react by saying ‘oh my’ but neither of them could say anything else before Ebony asked for the subject to be dropped. It made David wonder why the topic was seemingly a touchy one for Ebony but when Stacey looked at him and agreed that maybe they should for now he slowly nodded his head. “I’m sorry sweetheart the only reason why I went on about it is because naturally if she’s Dominic and Samuel’s daughter and they’re on holiday just now then she is definitely more than welcome to come and stay here with us until you can find a way to get back as no doubt we class her as family.” David replied explaining his reasons for pushing Ebony on the subject of Beth then continued saying, “But fine I’ll drop it.” He seriously hoped there wasn’t more to her reason for wanting to drop the subject other than maybe getting tired of it.
After Stacey had explained all about Jake to Ebony she had made it known that she wanted to meet him and deep down David knew that neither he nor Stacey could stop Ebony from doing that if it was what she really wanted. Stacey had spoken of going with her and David had then said he would feel better if there was a male there for protection. Ebony had then replied saying that Beth was going to go with her but if David wanted a male there then she guessed he was it. David gave Ebony a weak smile, “Well I would just feel safer sweetheart rather than have you and Beth and your mom go alone, just want to make sure that he’s really changed.” David knew that he could worry a lot but Stacey and Ebony’s safety was paramount to him. Ebony then added that she wanted to meet him face to face on her own adding she would have her cell phone with her if she got in any trouble.
David swallowed slowly and side glanced to Stacey knowing that deep inside she wouldn’t like that idea at all. Just as he thought Stacey had something to say about it and he instinctively put his hand on her arm and shook his head a little and gave her a weak smile and was about to say something when Stacey spoke again adding that maybe he and Beth could be in there for the initial meet up and step outside if all seemed to be going well. “Stacey honey, I think this is something that Ebony would need to face alone, Jake is going to find out he has a daughter from his future daughter in the present, it’s going to be enough for him to deal with without another girl from the future and her adoptive protective father, that could just make it all the more awkward. Beth and I will be outside, I think Ebony is adult enough to know when to get out if it was to go wrong, and I’ll be there waiting, I would never let any harm come to her, you should know that, but I do think she is best meeting him face to face alone.” David explained as he turned to Ebony and gave her a weak smile and a slight wink but then quickly turned to Stacey giving her a warm smile and gently squeezed her arm that his hand was on, “Trust her honey, I think that would mean the world to her.”

Ebony heard her mother's reaction over the fact that Beth was in fact Dom's daughter from the future, also seeing her facial expressions as well. She watched Stacey turn to David, and say that they maybe should stop for now. Ebony let out a quiet sigh of relief. As much as she loved them, and loved Beth, she really didn't want to talk about that now. She nodded to what David said, "I know, and we appreciate it." Ebony gave him a weak smile, and then slowly nodded at what he said next. "Thanks. Maybe we can talk about it more later." She hoped saying that might let the subject go till later on.
Ebony was feeling better now that her mother was going to let David come along with the visit, along with Beth. She slowly nodded as David spoke up of feeling safer if he was there, rather than Beth, her and Stacey going along. "Okay. At least there will be one adult I guess." But still it didn't seem like her mum was liking any of what was being said, and it was soon commented on more. It seemed her mum didn't like her going in alone with Jake. Seeing that move of her mum biting her bottom lip, definately told her that she didn't like it at all.
Though David soon spoke up, and it seemed to Ebony that he was trying to reassure Stacey over the decisions being made for this first meet up between Ebony and Jake. Ebony listened to what he had to say and suggest about the whole thing to her mum. Everything he was saying was right, she had to face him alone. When he had finished talking, David gave Ebony a weak smile, which she also gave back. Thoug the next thing that he had to say to stacey made her smile within with some pride. Ebony kept hoping that Stacey would just agree to it, and hopefully leave it at that so that she could start thinking about what she wanted to say to him. Though while she waited, Ebony turned to David, and mouthed, "Thank you."

Stacey had told David to maybe drop the subject, agreeing with Ebony. She hoped he would, though she knew that he would be so used to just asking questions till he got answer. Well, they had gotten the truth behind Beth somewhat, and really they could chat about it later on, if and when Ebony was comfortable again. Stacey nodded in agreement about what David was saying to Ebony about Ebony being welcome to stay. "I think that is something that we can discuss later." Stacey turned and gave her daughter a warm smile when she spoke, then David then said he would drop it. Stacey gave his hand a gentle squeeze, glad that he was going to drop it. She then smiled more as Ebony pretty much agreed with what she just said before. "Agreed."
Stacey didn't reall like the idea of Ebony going in and meeting Jake on her own, and made suggestions. Though it seemed that it might be the right thing, but she was only thinking of Ebony's safety with Jake. She felt David's hand on her arm, and saw him shaking his head a little. Stacey just looked at him, and then listened to him, knowing she had a bit of a sad look on her face. All the things that Jake was capable of kept going around in her head, and just could see Ebony being his next target. That thought made her feel sick on the stomach, knowing she would worry the whole time she was there with him. When he said that Ebony was adult enough, that made Stacey look at Ebony. Well she was like seventeen now she guessed, and it was close to eighteen, and Ebony did seem like she had her head on straight.
David stopped talking, and Stacey looked down at her hands again, wondering if he was right, if Ebony would be okay with Jake on her own. But he didn't know what he was like in person, only she did. She knew she would never forgive herself if anything happened to Ebony, just knowing that she had let her go and see him. Stacey then felt David squeeze her arm, and she looked into those eyes of his, and bit on her lip a little. She wanted to so bad, but just thinking of who she was meeting was just doing her head in.
Stacey sat back in the lounge, and thought for a few seconds, not wanting to jump into the decision too much. She looked over at Ebony. "You have to promise me that you will run out of there if he does anything, okay?" Stacey didn't give any facial expressions, then turned to David, "You have to keep an eye on everything, and keep them both safe, Ebony and Beth." She then sat forward, looking at Ebony, "You have my blessing to see him. Please just be careful."

After David explained his reason for pushing the issue with Beth he had to give Ebony a weak smile when she knew and that she appreciated it. Stacey then added that maybe they could discuss it later and then Ebony more or less said the same thing so David agreed to drop the subject. “Okay we can talk about it later.” David was protective enough of his family anyway but with being a therapist that part of David became stronger than ever but he knew when he was outnumbered and he knew better than to argue with women, he had enough of them in his life after all.
David was glad that Ebony seemed to be happy with the idea of his going along with her and Beth stating that at least there would be one adult but when Ebony had made the suggestion about wanting to see Jake face to face alone David had known it wouldn’t have gone down too well with Stacey and he was right. So David had spoken up saying that he felt it was something Ebony had to do alone and that they should show Ebony that they could trust her to get out at the first sign of any trouble. David caught Ebony mouth a thank you to him and he just gave her another wink followed by a warm smile and mouthed “You’re welcome.”
It was all down to Stacey now and what she would say to what David had said to her, Stacey should know that David wouldn’t let anything happen to Ebony or Beth for that matter. But he also knew that Stacey had gone through hell with Jake and he knew that it wouldn’t be easy for her to agree to Ebony going in alone. When Stacey spoke it was directed at Ebony and she was asking her to promise that she would get out if he did anything. David took Stacey’s hand in his own and gave it a gentle squeeze as they waited for Ebony to answer, but David already knew that Ebony would agree to getting out, why wouldn’t she? She was a sensible girl, he could tell that much.
Stacey then turned to David with no expression on her face saying that he was to keep an eye on everything and keep them both safe. David squeezed Stacey’s hand again, “I will I promise, I’ll stand by the living room window if necessary with Beth by my side, you know I won’t let anything happen to our family honey.” David replied and then looked over at Ebony as Stacey spoke to her again giving their daughter her blessing. David gave Ebony a warm smile, “She’ll be careful, I’ll be right outside and straight in there if I see any sign of trouble, you have my word.” David wasn’t the typical barging in type, but when it came to his family and protecting them, anything goes.

Ebony liked how her mum from this time was pretty much on the same page as her about the topic of Beth and Uncle Dom. She returned the warm smile her mother gave her with one of her own. Ebony just now hoped that the discussion of meeting up with Jake might go smooth.
Ebony now just waited for Stacey to say what she wanted to say to hopefully finish off this discussion about meeting Jake face to face. She soon spoke to her first, asking her to promise to get out if he did anything, which Ebony nodded at, "I will. I promise you." Ebony was feeling really happy now that her mum was letting her go. Though thinking that she might have to go tomorrow was starting to scare her a little as well. Ebony then watched Stacey turn to David, and spoke to him.
Then the next thing that her mum said to her made her smile at her. "I will, don't worry about that. Thank you so much." Without thinking Ebony got up and wrapped her arms around Stacey. Turning to whisper in her ear, Ebony said, hoping that only her mum would hear, "Thank you, and I love you."

After Stacey made the decision, first setting some minor rules for both Ebony and David, she watched their daughter smile at her, and reply. She would still be worried about them all, especially Ebony, when she came to meet Jake. But at least she knew that they were all working to make sure that the meet up went hopefully well. The next thing that Stacey saw was Ebony get up and give a big hug. Stacey looked over at David, feeling a few tears stinging in her eyes. Then the next thing she heard was Ebony whisper in her ear. Stacey sighed, then turned to be near Ebony's face. "You are welcome sweetie, and I love you too."
