Friday, 30th April, 2010 It had been just over a month since they had found out about the slight heart murmur Melody had picked up during her pregnancy and they had been told so long as they took things easily that things should hopefully go alright although there may be a chance that Melody might have to give birth prematurely. Brendan hoped that wouldn’t be the case, but so far things seemed to be going to plan and Brendan had contacted his parents to see if they wanted to come for a visit because he wanted them to meet Melody properly. The last time Bren’s father been in Nevada it was brief and to pick up Libby for the Christmas holiday and they had both agreed saying that they had some news they wanted to share with him and they figured that it would be better face to face than on the phone anyway. Bren was now intrigued as to what that news would be but knew that he would find out soon enough. Things hadn’t been too good for his parents for a while last summer after Debbie’s twin Grayson appeared out of the blue, a child that his mother had given up and never told the family about. Things had been very strained but then Grayson disappeared as quickly as he had arrived leaving his whirlwind destruction behind him. Thankfully his parents got over it and it would seem by all accounts that they were happier than ever. Bren was proud of his Texan roots but had to admit that he missed his parents like crazy when it came to exciting news such as babies and weddings. The news was always being told over the phone and it was never quite the same as saying it face to face. Hopefully now that Melody was doing slightly better that they might be able to take this opportunity while his parents were there to talk about the wedding. Initially Bren had wanted to surprise Melody with a wedding he had planned for them in Hawaii but now that she shouldn’t be flying much he decided against that idea but wanted to talk to his parents about the possibility of another idea instead. So his parents had arrived half an hour earlier and Bren had already shown them to their room and at the moment Libby was at a friend’s house but he knew that she would be home soon enough because she had been overly excited when he told her that her grandparents were coming for a few days to visit. Now the four of them were in the living room, he and Melody on one sofa and his parents across from them on one of the others and there was tray with coffee and biscuits on the table between the two sofas. Bren was the first to break the silence after the earlier introductions. “So come on mom and pop wha’s the news ya gotta tell us, I been dyin’ to know.” Bren asked as he looked from his mom to his dad. James looked at his wife Karen not sure where to start, as there was a few things they wanted to share but decided to go with the least shocking news first. “There’s a few things we kinda wanna tell ya son, but we’ll start with the less excitin’ news first I think. We know tha’ yer busier than ever, wha’ with the newspaper an’ the magazine an’ we’ve been doin’ a lot of thinkin’ an’ we decided to move to Nevada to be with ya. Don’ worry we ain’ givin’ up the vineyard, we’re sellin’ the one in Texas an’ buyin’ one here, ain’ too far away from here to be honest with ya son.” James said and Bren let out a low whistle and turned to Melody and sort of shrugged a little and then gave her a bright smile. He then turned to his parents, “Well I gotta tell ya mom tha’ would sure be a great help to have ya around more to maybe help Melody ya know?” He then turned to Melody, “Wha’ d’ya think Precious?” He asked thinking that it was a great idea himself but dying to know what the other news was. One of his other ideas for the wedding would have been to have it at his parents vineyard but knew that it would be too much for Melody to travel, if they were going to move to Las Vegas and have a vineyard close to where they currently lived then it might be possible to do that.

Melody was happy and content with her life right now. Despite having this slight heart murmur, which was picked up on her first doctor's visit after getting pregnant, she felt like life couldn't get any better. She had a handsome fiance, a beautiful daughter through Brendan, a career that was still going strong, and a baby on the way. She felt so loved and blessed, and knew that the next few months would be one of ups and downs, hopefully mostly ups.
Melody also couldn't believe that she was pretty much three and a half months pregnant. She was just starting to show, but not a lot. Though for her it was evident, and she was loving the thought of showing more and more as she continued on with the pregnancy. The morning sickness had started to easy off, which she was happy with, despite it only being in the morning or lasting the longest towards lunchtime. So now she was able to eat a bit better during breakfast and even a little later. Melody had also bought out half the bookstore when she bought a far few pregnancy books. Since it was her first, she was going all out, and she didn't care.
She was now sitting with Brendan and his parents, who had come to see them. Melody had only briefly met Bren's father at Christmas, but had spoken to both on the phone a couple of times over the last few months. Both his parents sounded really nice, but what could you expect, Brendan was just the same. Melody sipped on her water that she had, not wanting to drink a lot of caffeine while pregnant, doing as much as she can to reduce anything happening to her or the baby as much as possible. Brendan then asked his parents what the news was that they wanted to tell them.
Melody did wonder about that, and looked at them both to hear what they had to say for themselves. She listened to what James had to say, and watched as he directed what he wanted to say to Brendan more than anything. Melody didn't know what to say to what James just said. "Wow." She then looked at Brendan to see what he might say about it. Melody heard the low whistle, and looked at Melody shrugging and then saw that smile of his. She let one creep onto her lips, and then turned to look at his parents.
Brendan was the first to say more than one word, and then he turned to Melody, asking her what she thought. Melody smiled at him, then at his mother. "It would be good. I hate to take Bren away from work if it isn't necessary. So it would be good, especially having another female around." She laughed a little, then looked at Brendan, "Someone who is older than Libby at least." And Melody had a thought, "Maybe when you are all settled in I might be able to do a news story, like a small piece for the local news."

When Bren’s father began to tell him what their news was, or at least part of it, telling them that they were moving to Las Vegas wasn’t what he had expected to hear. Although it certainly sounded good because it meant that there would be another two people around should Melody need any help when Bren was maybe busy or less able to be contacted, and it also meant that Libby would have more of her family close to her. He heard Melody say ‘wow’ obviously not knowing what else to really say. Bren had just sort of turned to Melody and shrugged a little and then gave her one of his deep smiles. Bren had then said that it would be good to have his mom around to help with Melody more and then turned to Melody and asked her what she thought. Karen decided not to say anything until Melody had answered Bren.
Karen gave Melody a warm smile as she listened to what she had to say. Bren had to chuckle when Melody said it would be good to have another female around then adding someone who was older than Libby at least. “Well it will be a pleasure Melody an’ it will be good to get to know ya more an’ be able to spend more time with our gorgeous granddaughter an’ of course the new baby when they arrive.” Karen replied and gave Melody a warm smile before giving Bren one also. “Am sure Libby is gonna be well pleased with ya movin’ closer ya know to be able to have more of her family around her.” Bren said and both his parents gave him bright smiles. “We did think of tha’ to be honest with ya an’ of course everythin’ will be comin’ with us includin’ Libby’s horse.” James replied and gave Bren another deep smile and then wondered if he and Karen should share another part of their news or not.
Melody then spoke and said that when they were settled maybe she could do a news story on it, like a small piece for the local news. Bren didn’t think it was a bad idea but looked to his parents for their response. “If ya feel up to it Melody, then sure why not, nothin’ like drummin’ up a bit of new business an’ gettin’ it known we’ve moved ya know?” James replied and gave Melody another warm smile. Bren then turned to look at Melody and took her hand in his own, “I sure don’ mind if ya wanna do it, so long as yer careful.” They had been extra careful since hearing about Melody’s heart murmur which was why no plans had been discussed about a wedding because Bren didn’t want to put Melody through any more pressure.
Then Bren’s mom Karen spoke some more, “We reckon it might take about two weeks to get everythin’ moved and settled and I know ya’ve probably not had much time to think about it what with the heart murmur, but we’d be happy to help organise the weddin’ and let it happen at the vineyard, if it was what you wanted Melody.” Karen suggested, her Texan accent not being quite as strong as Bren or his father’s. Bren wasn’t sure how Melody would feel about that, as he had said at the time in a teasing way that his secret plans would have to be canned. Well Melody’s health came first and they could always go to Hawaii a few months after the baby was born, he was pretty sure that his mom and dad wouldn’t say no to looking after the baby and Libby.
Bren turned to Melody and gave her a deep smile showing off those dimples as always, “I reckon tha’ sounds good, an’ it would sure save a lot of plannin’ on findin’ a church an’ somewhere fer the reception, but it hasta be yer decision Precious.” Bren said then turned to his parents giving them a smile and a nod of the head to acknowledge that he appreciated their offer. Then Bren couldn’t wait any longer to find out what some of the other news was they had to tell them. “So, come on guys wha’s the other news ya had to share, kinda dyin’ to know.” Karen then looked at James and he then looked back at her and then they both turned to look at Bren and Melody but it was Karen who decided to talk.
“Well ya know that we had that tough time when Grayson appeared? Then he left as quick as he had arrived leavin’ yer dad and I in a bit of a mess? Well we eventually realised that life was too short to hold grudges as ya never know when yer gonna be taken from this world. Well I think it’s fair to say we’re closer than we ever were before and well this came as much of a shock to us as it will to you, but we’re havin’ another baby. The doctors are callin’ it a change of life baby and they’re obviously going to be checkin’ up on me more than normal given ma age, but so far things are lookin’ good and well we want to renew our marriage vows also and we’d be honoured if you would both attend with Libby naturally.” Karen finished and then looked at James and put her hand into his and gave it a gentle squeeze and then they both turned back to Bren and Melody.
Bren was shocked; he was more than shocked, as he was sort of lost for words. He looked at Melody with a slightly stunned expression on his face and then he began to laugh a little as he turned back to face the both of them. “Are ya fer real mom?” He asked not that he really need to ask as his parents wouldn’t lie about something like that. “Tha’s damned amazing.” He eventually said and got up to wrap his arms around the both of them and gave them a hug. Then he moved to sit beside Melody again. “An’ I reckon we’d be honoured to attend the renewal of your weddin’ vows, wha’ d’ya think Precious?” He asked turning to Melody to see what she would say. He wanted to ask if they knew what they were having and how far gone his mom was but right at that moment he couldn’t think of the questions to ask he was just a little dumbfounded that his mom and dad were going to have another baby at their age, it was a miracle.

After Melody spoke of her thoughts on the news, Karen, Brendan's mother, spoke in reply. Hearing what she had to say made Melody smile all the more, "Sounds really good Karen. I would love to speak to you about somethings, more so about the pregnancy. The books have been great to read, but getting first hand experience would be just brilliant." Just thinking about it all again made Melody feeling all excited again. It was still a while for her to get to the final stages, but just knowing that there would be someone who has been through it was going to be great in Melody's eyes.
Brendan then spoke to his mum about what she had said also, and Melody knew Libby would be over the moon with the move. James then spoke up, and smiled at the fact that her horse would be there as well. Melody turned to Brendan, "Libby is going to be over the moon with the news when she finds out." Probably an understatement, thought Melody, but still there was going to be definate excitement for a few hours after the news would be told.
Melody had then suggested doing a small news piece on the vineyard when they have settled in. She glanced at Brendan, but James was the one to reply. "Oh don't you worry, I would love to do it. I have cut back on only working four days a week now, so if I am not busy on one of those days we can schedule it. And of cause when you have moved, maybe leaving it for a week or two after. No rush." Melody went to take a sip of her water again, when Brendan to one of her hands, and then spoke to her. She gave him a warm smile, "I don't mind at all. And I will be careful, don't you worry." Melody gently squeezed his hand, then took a couple of sips of her water. She definately knew her limits, and recently have been taking note of them.
Melody then listened to what Karen had to say, and she nodded in the appropriate sections. Then hearing the part where Karen was offerieng to help organise the wedding to happen at their vineyard sounds really good. She wasn't much of a church person anyway, so it would be the perfect setting. Melody put down her glass on the table, then listened to what Brendan had to say about the suggestion. She looked at Brendan, then at Karen and James, "It does sound like a great idea. And has you said we haven't had much time to think about it. Maybe I have." She turned to Brendan and gave him a bit of a cheeky grin, "But the idea of having it out in the open would be great. I do have a few ideas, so we could talk about that soon maybe." This time she directed that last bit to Karen.
Brendan then basically egged them on for the other bits of news they had to share. Melody snuggled into Brendan, waiting for what they were going to say next. She watched them look at each other, then at them both on the lounge. Karen finally spoke, and all Melody could do was listen. Hearing about Grayson, she remembered what Brendan had told her. It wasn't a lot, but it was enough for Melody to know that it hadn't been great between everyone in the family. Melody then smiled at Karen, as she said that they were closer than ever, which was so nice, despite what went on.
Then the words of 'we're havin' another baby' just made Melody's mouth fall open. The rest of what Karen said was a bit of a blur to Melody, and she couldn't believe that they were having a baby also. She blinked a couple of times, and then slowly looked at Brendan, wondering what he might say to the news, not realising that there was two bits of news that they had just shared. It would seem to Melody that Brendan had no words either, as he didn't speak at all. When he looked at her, she almost burst out laughing, and after some delayed reaction, she did, putting her hand up to her mouth. Brendan then asked his mum if she was for real, and he said that it was damn amazing.
Melody watched Brendan get up and hug his parents, then return to the lounge beside her. She turned to Brendan's parents, and just smiled at both of them. "That is great news. A shock, but still great." Melody then frowned at what Brendan said next, soon realising that Karen must have said something else, when Melody had drowned out the rest of the talk. She soon caught up, and then nodded, when Brendan questioned her about it. "Oh most definately. Would definately do that." Renewing wedding vows sounded romantic to the one person who was sometimes a hard cookie, despite being madly in love with Brendan.
Melody then looked over at Karen, "So how is the pregnancy going?" That was the main thing to talk about now, as really wedding plans and renewing wedding vows was kind of a big subject, and for now Melody wanted to start off small.

When Melody spoke to Karen about getting firsthand experience on pregnancy it took her all her time not to burst out the news there and then, just the idea that Melody might get more than just firsthand experience but to actually have someone go through all the different stages with her, because Karen was more or less at the same stage of pregnancy that Melody was. However she managed to keep it herself for now and replied saying, “Well it will be no trouble at all, really.” She gave Melody a bright smile then and couldn’t help but think to herself that she really liked this girl and that her son Brendan had done really well for himself.
After it was said that Libby’s horse would be brought to the new vineyard Bren saw Melody turn to him and she said that Libby would be over the moon with the news and Bren broke out into a deep grin showing those dimples off in all their dimpled glory. Bren replied saying, “Ya ain’ wrong there Precious, kinda dyin’ fer her reaction to be honest with ya.” It did make him wonder when Libby would be home but he had this feeling that it would be sooner rather than later.
Melody had then spoke about doing a news piece on the move to the new vineyard and James had spoken up saying as long as long as she was up for it and then Bren himself had added that he didn’t mind so long as she was careful. Melody soon answered James and he nodded his head as he listened and then gave her a bright smile, “Well alrigh’ then Melody sweetheart, sounds like a good idea to me an’ I’ll be sure to let ya know when we’re settled an’ ready fer it.” James replied and then Melody had spoken to Bren telling him that she would be careful and then gave his hand a bit of squeeze. Bren gave her another smile and replied saying, “How can I say no to tha’?” Bren replied and chuckled a little.
Bren’s mother had then brought up the idea of having the wedding at the vineyard and Bren had then said that it would save a lot of planning but it had to be Melody’s decision. Bren listened to what Melody said as she replied saying that maybe they hadn’t had a lot of time to think about the wedding but that maybe she had and turned to Bren giving him a bit of a cheeky grin. All Bren could do was to shake his head and smile at her but then listened to what else she had to say about it. Bren had to smile when it was becoming apparent that Melody loved the idea of having it at the vineyard and then spoke to Karen saying she had a few ideas and maybe they could talk about it soon. Karen nodded her head, “Whenever yer ready to talk about it Melody just say the word.” Karen replied giving Melody a warm smile.
When Bren had then egged his parents on to tell them the other news they had to share he felt Melody snuggle into him and he automatically put his arm around her bringing her closer to him. Then Karen began to speak which Bren assumed was going to finish with the news they wanted to share. Hearing Grayson’s name mentioned again was kind of difficult because his sudden appearance had really shaken the family up and almost tore it apart and then after getting close to Libby he just disappeared leaving her devastated, he had never quite forgiven Grayson for that. But eventually his mother got to the bit that was the real news and Bren had almost died when he heard that they having another baby. He was actually lost for words and that was a first for Bren. He had turned to Melody with a stunned expression on his face and he knew that the look must have been funny because soon enough Melody had put her hand up to her mouth and laughed.
Bren had then asked his mom if she was for real and then adding that it was damned amazing. He was going to become a daddy again at pretty much the same time as becoming a big brother all over again, it was kind of wonderful. It did make him wonder what Debbie would think to the news. Bren then got up and hugged his parents before returning to the sofa that he had been sitting on with Melody. Melody then spoke to his parents saying that it was great news, a shock but great news. Both Karen and James laughed a little and nodded their heads, “Like Karen said, it was as much a shock to us as we knew it would be fer the both of ya, but we’re happy jus’ the same.” James replied and then Bren had said he reckoned that they would be honoured to attend the renewal of his parents wedding vows. He saw Melody frown a little and he wondered if Melody hadn’t picked up on the renewal of the wedding vows as she was probably too busy being shocked over the pregnancy, Bren was that shocked himself it was a wonder he had picked up on the renewal thing too.
Bren smiled brightly when Melody agreed that she would definitely do that, referring to attending the renewal of the wedding vows. Karen and James gave the both of them a bright smile and then James spoke saying, “Tha’s wonderful, as it jus’ wouldn’ be the same without y’all there.” Karen nodded her head smiling obviously agreeing with what James had just said. Then just as Bren thought about asking his mom how the pregnancy was going and how far along she was Melody beat him to it. Karen replied giving Melody a smile, “The pregnancy’s goin’ great so far actually; the doctors are very impressed an’ happy. An’ I reckon tha’ am pretty much as far on as yerself, three months gone or just under it, but tha’s why we wanted to get the move done now rather than later.” James put his hand on his wife’s stomach then and shaking his head, “I still find it hard to believe ya know? Like I mean who’d have thought it at our ages, it’s a damned miracle I tell ya.”
Bren knew his parents weren’t that old, but they would be pushing sixty soon and the sudden thought went through his head about wondering what might happen if, heaven forbid his parents died in their early seventies. Not that it was something he should be thinking about as it was kind of morbid but he couldn’t help but think that his parents would be sixty six when the new baby was only ten years old. He then realised he had gone into some deep thinking and would probably have one of them ask him soon enough what was wrong and so he snapped back to reality. James then spoke again, “We know tha’ yer gonna be this little one’s big brother, but we were wonderin’ how yerself an’ Melody would feel about being godparents? Jus’ tha’ we know we ain’ gettin’ any younger an’ well not tha’ ya wanna be thinkin’ like this or anythin’ but we hafta think about when we migh’ not be here ya know?” Bren couldn’t help but smile weakly thinking it was kind of spooky that he should just be thinking about the very thing his father just spoke of.
Bren then asked Melody what she thought saying, “I don’ know, wha’ d’ya think to tha’ Precious? Reckon ya can handle takin’ on tha’ responsibility when we’ve got Libby an’ a new baby on the way?” This was going to Melody’s decision because Bren wouldn’t mind either way, he was honoured and proud to have been asked but he felt that it might just be too much for Melody to take on what with having to take things careful with her own pregnancy due to the murmur and yet at the same time couldn’t help but to think that it would be good for his parent’s new baby to have someone they could go to if and when the inevitable happened before they were old enough to take care of themselves.
{ooc - and wasn't sure if I should bring Libby into it or not a little later, or if it would get too confusing and just write for her in Bren's posts?}

Melody gave James a smile, and then a nod, "Sounds great. Keep me posted." She had been taking thigs easy, and hadn't done that many story pieces, so it was kind of exciting to have one that she had gotten on her own. When Brendan had spoke to Melody after, she had said she would be careful. Hearing what he said next made her laugh a little, and she looked at him with a huge grin on her face, "You can't." She then laughed a bit more, shaking her head. If she wasn't up for it when the time came, she would definately give the story to someone else.
When the mention of the wedding came up, Melody did love the idea of it being held at Brendan's parent's new vineyard. When she had said that maybe she had been thinking about the wedding, she saw Brendan shake his head, and smile at her. Well she was a woman after all, who didn't dream about their special day? After she added that she had a few ideas and maybe her and Karen could talk about it soon. Karen had replied, and Melody nodded, "Great. Can't wait." She just felt so happy, and just wanted to marry Brendan sooner than later.
Hearing James say that the baby news had been a bit of a shock made Melody smile and nod, kind of understanding that. Really herself and Brendan were pretty shocked with the news, especially seeing Brendan's face just moments ago. "Well it is still fantastic news." Brendan had spoken of attending their renewal of their wedding vows. Melody soon picked up on what was saying, and replied. James replied to what was said, and Melody nodded, "We wouldn't miss it."
Melody had then asked Karen how far along she was, and how it was all going. Hearing what she said made her smile. After James commented about finding it hard to believe, Melody nodded a little, and snuggled into Brendan again. "I understand where you are coming from. You were probably thinking that you were over the whole baby thing years ago, and here comes another. But I guess we can all support each other, since there are two of us now pregnant." Melody then looked at Karen, "You aren't too far off me. I am three and a half months. Only just starting to show, and can't wait to get going a bit further." She sighed a little, and placed her hand on her stomach slightly.
It had gone a little quiet, and Melody wondered what they could talk about next. But James got in again to talk, and what he suggested next made Melody raise her eyebrows a little. She eyed off Brendan, then turned and looked at him when he asked what she thought. Melody diverted her eyes to the wall, thinking, but knew that she didn't have to think for too long. She looked back at Brendan, giving him a smile, then turned to James. "I think we can more than handle that." Melody turned to Brendan, "By the time your parent's baby is born, ours should be born already. I can't see why we can't be Godparents to their little one." By then I might be okay, though Melody, and might not have anything wrong with me.
Melody took her glass and drank the rest of her water, and then gently placed the glass back on the table. She sat back, and had a thought, looking at Karen. "You know when we are both a few months on, we should have a joint baby shower." She knew that it was too early to have one now, but maybe in another three or four months they could, more like four for her, as it would be getting onto eight months by the.

When Melody told James to keep her posted he gave her a bright smile and a nod of the head and then replied saying, “I will do.” Bren had then made a remark about how could he say no to her doing the news report when she said she would be careful. He saw that grin of hers and returned it with one of his own and then he had to laugh at her response when she said that he couldn’t, as in he couldn’t stop her. Bren just shook his head and then James spoke up, “Ya can certainly tell who the boss is in this relationship.” He then began to laugh heartily as Bren shook his head and chuckled at his dad.
After Karen had told Melody they could talk wedding plans when she was ready Melody replied saying great and adding that she couldn’t wait. Karen gave her a bright smile and replied with “I can’t wait either an’ it will give me practice should Debbie ever get married to her man.” Karen said and smiled knowing that it would be great for the family to extend with Debbie as well as Brendan.
When James had said that the baby news was a shock to them both he saw Melody smile and nod her head but she soon remarked on it saying that it was still fantastic news and both James and Karen nodded their heads and smiled back at Melody. “It is yeah, an’ we couldn’ be happier.” James said as he took Karen’s hand in his own and squeezed it gently. Then James said that it was great they would attend the renewal of their vows saying it wouldn’t be the same without them all there. Melody replied saying that they wouldn’t miss it and James and Karen smiled at Melody again. Karen then spoke saying, “We’re pleased to hear it.”
Melody had then asked Karen how far along she was and she answered with James adding that he was finding it a miracle at their ages. Bren felt Melody snuggle into him and he wrapped his arm right around her holding her close to him. When Melody replied to James saying that they had probably thought that they were over the baby thing years ago and along comes another, Bren had to chuckle a little, “Yeah almost 27 years since they had to change a diaper, hope ya still got it in ya old man.” Bren said and laughed out loud and winked at his mom. Karen winked back at Bren before saying, “Oh don’ ya worry about tha’ my son, I’ve already got him down for night time diaper duty, he just don’ know it yet.” The look on James’ face was a picture but he didn’t say anything, obviously a case of not arguing with the boss. “Hah, ya talk about us, it’s clear to see who the boss is in yer own relationship dad.” Bren replied and laughed out loud. James shook his head and then got to answering Melody, “But yeah, ya got tha’ righ’ sweetheart an’ it will be nice to support each other especially since we’re movin’ closer.”
Melody then spoke to Karen saying that she wasn’t far off of Melody stating that she was three and a half months gone adding that she was just starting to show and couldn’t wait to get going a bit further. Karen went to reply to Melody but James got in first, “Yeah, I bet Brendan can’t wait until ya start fillin’ out an’ all, cause ya sure get more to hold onto up top.” James then burst into a fit of laughter and Karen who was slightly mortified by what James said punched his arm playfully. “For goodness sake James they don’t need to be hearin’ tha’.” But she too began to laugh and turned to Melody with a slightly red face, “I am sorry about him, he needs to learn to behave.” Bren just didn’t know where to look but he found that he couldn’t stop laughing at the banter going on between his parents; it was like looking at a pair of teenagers.
There had been a brief silence between them all where Bren had mostly been doing some thinking about the fact that his parents were getting on a bit and then as if his father had read his mind he had asked him and Melody how they would feel about being godparents to their baby. Bren turned to Melody wanting her to answer because really he wouldn’t mind either way but given the fact that she was pregnant herself and with the heart murmur he wanted it to be her decision. Melody looked as if she was doing a little bit of thinking and then looked Bren giving him a smile and then turned to James saying I think we can more than handle that. James gave her a bright smile and then Karen did too. Karen then replied, “Tha’s real good of ya both it makes me feel better about things ya know.” Bren gave his mom a warm smile, “Well when it’s alrigh’ with my Melody then it’s alrigh’ with me.” And for the first time in quite a while Bren felt his emotions getting the better of him and a tear escaped one of his eyes which he quickly wiped away.
Melody had then turned back to him saying that by the time his parent’s baby was born their own should be and couldn’t see why they couldn’t be Godparents to his parent’s little one. Bren gave Melody a deep smile, “Yer amazin’ ya know tha’ righ’?” He asked and with the arm that was around her he hugged her gently. He then looked over at his parents, “Well I think ya can put us down fer Godparent duty then.” He now had three things to be proud of, the fact that he was going to be a daddy again in a few months, that he was going to be a big brother all over again and now he was going to his baby sibling’s Godparent.
Melody soon spoke again addressing Bren’s mom Karen asking her about having a joint baby shower when they were both a little further on in their pregnancy. Bren hugged Melody to him a little again, “Tha’s a great idea Precious, an’ while yer havin’ one of those, dad an’ I can go out an’ get happy.” He chuckled as he winked at his dad, well those baby showers were a female thing, so he and his dad could go to the pub and get a few pints in. Karen then smiled and nodded her head and answered Melody, “I think tha’s a great idea Melody, I would totally be up fer tha’.” Just then Bren got a message on his phone. “I know who this is from afore I even open the phone, tha’s Libby’s text tone.” He said and chuckled reading the text and then replied to her.
“She was jus’ askin’ if ya were here yet, so of course I’ve said yeah an’ she’s jus’ replied, let me see wha’ she’s said.” He said and then checked the new message and laughed out loud, “All she said is ‘comin’ home’. Looks like ya’ll get to see her soon an’ then we can all take great pleasure in lettin’ her know the good news.”

Melody snickered then shook her head, after Brendan said you could tell who the boss was in their relationship. She playfully slapped her hand on Brendan's leg, then looked at him, her whole face lighting up, "Yes, I wear the pants here." Melody then brought out into a grin, then laughed out loud. It was always fun to play around with Brendan, and just loved him so much.
After Melody had commented about Brendan's parents thinking that they were over the baby thing, and along came another, Brendan replied, chuckling. She looked up at Brendan, hearing what he had to say, grinning. Melody playfully gasped at what he finished off saying, and looked over at James. Though Karen replied first, and loved what she had to say. She made a mental note to make that Brendan's job when their baby came along. Melody soon saw James' face to what Karen said, and it was classic. Brendan then made a comment about who was the boss in his parent's relationship, thinking about what he said about their own relationship in that regard. James then commented on what Melody had said, and she nodded, giving James a warm smile. It was nice to have Brendan's family nearby if they ever needed anything.
Melody had made the comment that she was starting to show, but couldn't wait to get going a bit further into the pregnancy. She waited to see what Karen would say, but it seemed James had something to say. Melody turned to look at him, and what he first said made sense, since he missed seeing Libby's mum pregnant, then the whole Stacey thing, she knew that he would be just as excited about it as she was, as it was her first. Though the final thing that James said, made Melody open her mouth in shock. She blinked a little, and it made her glance at her chest, noticing lately that her breasts had started to get a bit bigger. Melody looked up just as Karen was telling James off, and then apologised for him, adding that he needed to learn to behave. She looked from James, then at Brenda, and back to Karen. "No need to apologise. I can see where Brendan gets his remarks from." She sideglanced at Brendan, and a grin crept onto her face, waiting for the comment from him now.
When it was confirmed that they would be the child's Godparents, Brendan had said that when it was alright with her, then it was alright with him. As Melody was just about to look away from Brendan she saw a tear escape his eye, and then he wiped it away. She felt she didn't need to make a comment as he was allowed to get emotional, he was only human after all. Melody commented more about how their baby would be born already, and that they would be able to handle the responsibly. She looked more at Brendan, and saw that deep smile of his, looking at his dimples for a split second, then back at his eyes. When he said what he said, Melody felt her face flush slightly, and then she rolled her eyes, "Well I do what I can." She giggled and moved closer to him as he gave her a gentle hug with his arm that was around her already.
Melody made a comment about having a joint baby shower with Karen. When Brendan commented she smiled at him, and then shook her head, rolling her eyes again playfully at his comment of what he and James could do. Karen soon commented, and Melody smiled at her, "Great. Don't really need to plan for it now, but soon. Though knowing me will have a few ideas up my sleeve soon enough." Melody sat back on the lounge and then heard Brendan's phone go off with the sound of a text message. When Brendan made the comment of who it was, Melody nodded, knowing and recalling who's tone it was. Hearing Libby's reply to Brendan's message back made her laugh. "I reckon she would be halfway here already." Melody laughed and then wondered what else they could talk about before Libby got home.
She looked at Karen, "Not sure how it was when you were carrying Brendan and Debbie, but do you want to know the sex of the baby before it is born?" Melody still wasn't sure if she wanted to know, but it would be up to the both of them. Wouldn't be fair if one knew and the other didn't. It would come out eventually.

After James’ comment about who wore the pants in the relationship between Bren and Melody he soon felt Melody playfully slap his leg with a bright smile pretty much agreeing to what James had said saying she wore the pants. Bren chuckled and then said, “I ain’ arguin’ with tha’.” The hand that Melody had slapped on his leg he took in his own and squeezed it gently and then caressed the back of it with his thumb feeling completely in love.
When Bren’s dad James had made the comment about Melody filling out up top as the pregnancy blossomed he saw her mouth open and then watched as she glanced down at her chest area and James just continued to laugh a little. After Karen told him off he looked at Melody trying to keep a straight face, “Am sure sorry if I embarrassed ya there Melody.” Karen had then apologised for James and Melody soon replied saying there was no need and added that she now knew where Bren got his remarks from. This made him turn to her with an innocent expression, “Am sure I don’ have a clue wha’ yer goin’ about Precious.” He replied and winked at her as he caught the grin that was creeping onto her lips.
After they agreed to be the Godparents of James and Karen’s new baby Bren had told Melody that she was amazing. Melody soon responded to this saying that she did what she could and giggled a little as she moved closer to Bren. All Bren could do was smile deeply at her and then kissed the side of her head. In Bren’s eyes she did more than just what she could but he didn’t want to embarrass her in front of his parents by elaborating on that.
Melody had then spoken to Karen about having a joint baby shower and Bren had said that he and his dad could go down to the pub. He had to chuckle at Melody rolling her eyes at him and then she told Karen that it was great adding that they didn’t need to plan it now but soon. “Well the soon as ya think ya’ve got any ideas on anythin’ just give me a call.” Karen replied and gave Melody a bright smile thinking that it would be great to organise a joint baby shower. It was certainly going to be strange to have a new baby son or daughter in the family at more or less the same time as a new grandchild.
Bren had then received a text from Libby and after he had replied he got a very quick text back simply saying she was coming home. He had laughed at it and read it out. He heard Melody laugh and he couldn’t help but grin at her and then Melody replied saying that she reckoned she’d be half way home by now. Bren had to laugh at that remark, “I reckon ya might be right ya know.” He had half expected Libby to come running in through the door as he said that but she didn’t. He then heard Melody ask his mom if she wanted to know the sex of the baby. Bren wondered what his mom’s answer to that might be too. “To be honest we’re not sure. We’ve talked about it, but we just don’ know. Sometimes it’s nice to know so ya know wha’ colours to get an’ everythin’ but at the same time it’s nice to get a surprise too.” Karen answered wondering what Melody might think to that answer. She then looked from Melody to Bren and decided to ask them the same question, “So wha’ about the both of ya, d’ya wanna know the sex of the baby or not?”
Bren looked from his mom to Melody and shrugged a little, “I don’ know, would ya like to know beforehand Melody?” He asked her and then added, “I ain’ so sure, kinda feel the same way as mom I guess. Would be good to know fer colours an’ stuff but it’s nice to get a surprise too, so jus’ don’ know.” Bren chuckled a little then at his indecisiveness but really it wasn’t an easy question to answer. Just then the outside door was closed with gusto and Bren began to chuckle knowing fine well that it was Libby coming into the house in a rush. She was like a little whirlwind at moving when her grandparents were involved and the next minute she was on top of James like a rash. “Grandpa, it’s so good to see ya.” James gave a hug and a kiss, “An’ it’s good to see ya too sweetheart.” Libby then moved over to hug Karen. “I’ve missed ya grandma.” Karen kissed the top of her head gently, “An’ we’ve missed ya too.” Libby continued to sit between her grandparents then.
Bren looked over at his parents and to Melody and then to Libby before looking back to Melody, “Do ya wanna tell her the news or will I?” Bren was of course referring to his parents moving to Las Vegas and of course the baby news.
{ooc - I thought by asking Melody if she wanted to tell Libby - it would give her more to actually say, and saves me repeating myself lol}

James apologised, and Melody waved him off a little. "It's alright. Not embarrassed as such." She glanced down at her chest again, truly knowing that they were getting bigger. After Melody said that she knew where Brendan got his remarks from, she looked at him, and the grin crept onto her lips. The look on his face was funny, and hearing what he said made her grin all the more. Melody rolled her eyes slightly, then giggled a little. Well wherever he got the remarks from, she loved him all the same.
While they waited to hear Libby come home, Melody had asked Karen if she wanted to know the sex of the baby. She sat back, and lent her body close to Brendan as Karen replied. Melody nodded in a couple of places, like when Karen spoke of knowing so you know what colours to get and everything. That was true. She then smiled at Karen at what she said at the end. Karen then asked them if they wanted to know the sex of the baby or not. Brendan asked Melody, and she bit the inside of her cheek, thinking about it. She listened to what Brendan said on the matter, and soon knew what she wanted. Melody turned to Brendan, and gave him a very warm smile, "I think I want to wait and find out at the end." Her smile got bigger, getting excited all over again at the prospect of having this baby with him.
Just then it was soon apparent that Libby was in fact home. Seeing Brendan chuckle made Melody know that she was right. Soon enough Libby was saying hello to her grandparents, then sat between James and Karen where they were sitting. Melody gave Libby a big smile, then Brendan asked her if she wanted to tell Libby the news or would he? Melody raised her eyebrows somewhat, then turned to Libby. The first news she knew she was going to love, but wondered what Libby would say to the second lot of news. "Well I don't mind saying the first lot, but not sure if your parents want to say the second set of news." Melody looked over at Libby and gave her the biggest smile.
"Well Lib, what do you think of your grandparents being closer to you? They are moving in this area soon. And what's more your horse will be coming as well. What do you think of that?" Melody sat forward, wondering and pretty much waiting for the reaction she knew she, and all of them would get.

When James had apologised Melody soon waved him off saying that she wasn’t embarrassed as such and he gave her a warm smile, “Alrigh’ then.” He replied but did notice her glancing at her breasts again and he knew that he shouldn’t have said what he said. He just sometimes forgot where he was and let his mouth run away with him. It was definitely clear to see that Bren got his attitude and flare for words from his father. However when Melody had said as much Bren had turned to her with an innocent look and said he was sure he didn’t know what she was going on about. He saw her roll her eyes and giggle a little and Bren just chuckled knowing fine well he got his attitude and words from his father but it was fun to tease.
When talk of knowing the sex of the babies came up Bren had agreed with his mom but seemed a bit torn over the decision at the same time of whether he would want to know the sex or not beforehand. He had then asked Melody what she thought. Melody soon turned to him with a warm smile and said that she would like to wait until the end and then he saw her smile get even bigger. Bren grinned at her, “Well then, tha’s wha’ we do, wait until the end an’ then find out.” Bren didn’t care either way with not being around Libby as a baby it would make no difference to him if they had a boy or a girl but he had to admit that he was soft on girls because you could dress them really pretty and of course he could be protective over them.
When Libby had arrived and greeted her grandparents and then sat between them Bren had asked Melody if she wanted to tell Libby the news or would he. Melody soon answered saying she would tell her the first piece of news but maybe his parents would want to tell her the other. Bren nodded his head, “Alrigh’ I can live with tha’.” He chuckled a little and then waited to see how Libby would react when Melody told her about her grandparents moving to Las Vegas. Libby sat forward on the sofa between her grandparents as Melody began to speak and her mouth basically dropped open at what she was hearing. “Tha’s amazin’, tha’s the best news ever, I hated ya bein’ so far away from me. An’ I love tha’ yer able to bring my horse an’ all, thanks.” Libby then pounced on James and hugged him and went to do the same thing to Karen. James and Karen both laughed a little, “Well tha’s great tha’ yer so happy about it.” James said to Libby.
Bren could see that Libby was excited, “Be careful how ya hug yer grandmother, she’s in a delicate state.” He said and winked at his mom. Libby looked at Bren and gave him a smile, “Alrigh’ then, but why ya in a delicate state?” Libby asked Karen as she gave her a gentle hug. Karen hugged Libby back and then when she was sitting back again Karen looked at her and took one of her hands in her own. “Well ya know how yer goin’ to get a new baby brother or sister?” Libby nodded her head but never said anything, “Well, yer goin’ to get a new uncle or aunt, I know it’s gonna be kinda weird fer ya what with ya bein’ older than them.” Karen said and looked at Libby expectantly wondering what she might say.
“Ya mean yer havin’ a baby an’ all, just like mom an’ dad?” She asked and Karen smiled some more and nodded her head. “Oh my god, tha’s great news.” Libby said and hugged her grandmother again. Libby then went over and squeezed herself between Melody and Brendan. “I have the best family ever, I just love y’all.” Libby said and then hugged into Melody gently.
{ooc - not sure if you want to try closing this one off, unless you want to get it to talking more about wedding plans... just feel that the posts are fairly small and most of the time I think I'm talking to myself mostly with Karen, James and now Libby all talking in Bren's posts. Up to you.}

Melody had told Brendan that she would like to wait till the end to know the sex of the baby. Her smile just grew bigger, loving that idea more and more. Seeing Bren grinning at her, then replying in acknowledgement, Melody nodded, and placed his hand over her stomach. She couldn't wait to have this baby, hoping the rest of the pregnancy would go alright, and go to full term.
Melody soon told Libby what the first surprise was, adding in that the horse was going to be moving as well. Seeing Libby's mouth hang open, made her giggle a little. Melody then wrapped her arm across Brendan, just knowing how Libby was going to be about the news, though seeing it for real was just great. Once Libby hugged both James and Karen, Brendan mentioned about being careful with Karen as she was in a delicate state. Libby soon questioned that, and soon enough Karen told her why. Hearing what Libby said about that, made Melody laugh a little, watching her react the only way she knew Libby knew of. It was so cute some of the things she did, even at her age.
When Libby came over and sat inbetween Melody and Brendan, she moved over slightly to let Libby have some room. When Libby said what she said, Melody gave her a smile, and then she felt Libby hug into her. She wrapped an arm around Libby, "And we love you too." Melody looked at Brendan, and sighed, giving him a warm smile, just loving him and the rest of his family so much.
{ooc - I reckon it has finished now.}
