Friday 9th April, 2010 - Around 3pm It was mid afternoon and Dom had managed to coax Sam into going home and getting some well deserved rest about two hours ago now. He had loved spending all that time with Sam considering he thought he would never see him again but as time continued Dom could see that Sam was in need of some rest. So he had finally managed to send him home and said he would look forward to seeing him later. In the time that Sam had gone Tommy had been in to visit and his mom had come back too. She had finally told him about Tony and although it still had a massive impact on him he was glad that his mom hadn’t told him earlier. In a way Dom felt like Tony had been taken in order for him to survive and it was making him feel a bit uncomfortable. He knew that he wouldn’t be able to say anything to his family about it as they would probably tell him not to be so silly and maybe they would be right, as he knew that it wouldn’t have mattered whether it was Tony or himself who had been taken, either way it would have devastation on the family. Now he was lying back in the bed and wondering whether to watch anything on the television or pick up the book his mom had brought him in to read. He was hating the fact that he would have to be in here for a week at the very least as he was already beginning to feel a bit stronger physically but he also knew he had gone through quite a traumatic experience and operation and that there would be no way the hospital would let him go home until they felt he was ready despite what he had to say about it. He finally decided on reading the book his mom and brought and opened it but found that he kept reading the same lines over and over and ended up putting it back on the table beside him again. The only person he hadn’t seen yet was Stacey but he knew that she would be busy with Ebony and hadn’t really expected to see her right away but he was missing her as he hadn’t seen her since he left for Hawaii and she hadn’t even seen his engagement ring yet. He also knew that she had probably been worried sick about him just as he had been when Stacey had haemorrhaged after having Ebony and had almost died. He felt as if he had been strong emotionally with Sam but since he had sent Sam home that emotional strength had gone. He had done nothing but think about what happened the day before and despite knowing that Simon was obviously not well when he had stabbed him he couldn’t stop thinking about it and the emotional pain of it was killing him. He might never have seen his family, Sam or Stacey again and it was all down to a jealous ex with a psychological problem. So for all his strength earlier it was no surprise really that when he saw Stacey come through the door that he took one look at her, shook his head slowly and just broke down into tears unable to say anything. He felt like he could let his guard down with Stacey and he also knew that when he was able to talk again once he had composed himself that he would be able to tell Stacey what was upsetting him so much.

Stacey had been beside herself knowing that Dom had been stabbed. She had found out, through Tommy via Dom's mobile, that he had been air lifted from Hawaii to their local hospital. She knew it would be a few hours till he would reach the hospital, and the whole time Stacey kept hoping that he would pull through. Of all times for this to happen, when she and David were trying to have a baby as well. She tried to keep as calm as possible over it, but it was hard since Dom was her best friend, and they were always there for each other.
So after getting a couple of text from Tommy, then Frankie via Dom's phone, she decided to go in and see him. Stacey had called Cassie to see if she could take Ebony for a couple of hours, explaining that she was going in to see Dom in the hospital. So within minutes Stacey had Ebony packed up and ready to head into Cassie's house. After that drop off, Stacey headed towards the hospital, and quickly found a park. She went to reception to find out where Dominic was, and after them questioning her, they finally told her where he was. It was great that they wanted to keep his whereabouts in the hospital hidden, but she was his best friend after all.
She was now outside the door of his room, and let out a breath, wondering what she mght come face to face with. Stacey had no idea if Dom would look worse for wear or not. But if he was awake, he might not look that bad, just look like her old friend Dom. She swallowed, then made her way into Dom's room. Stacey looked at Dom, and could see he was as fine as he could be right now, though she didn't know the extent of the operation. She watched him shake his head, then he broke down and cried. "Oh Dom..." Stacey went straight to him, and took his hand, not really sure if she should hug him or not.
"Hey I am here. No need to cry." Seeing Dom crying made Stacey shed a few tears, and she wiped them away as much as she could. She sat down in the chair next to his bed, and caressed his hand. Stacey wondered why he was upset. "What's wrong Dom? You can tell me."

After Dom had looked at Stacey and began to break down into tears she was soon beside him and he felt her take his hand and just hearing her voice as she said ‘oh Dom’ made him cry all the more because he knew that there was a huge chance that he may never have heard her voice again. Stacey then spoke again saying that she was there and there was no need to cry but that only made him cry harder. It was almost as if all the strength he had displayed earlier with his family and Sam had crumbled the minute Stacey walked into his room. He then watched as she sat down on the chair next to his bed and began to caress his hand which was helping him to calm down somewhat. Stacey then asked him what was wrong and that he could tell her.
The thing was he knew he could tell Stacey he just knew that he had to compose himself first. With Stacey caressing his hand he soon felt himself calm down enough to maybe start to tell her what was wrong. He took his hand away from Stacey’s long enough to wipe at his eyes so that he could talk and then returned it taking her hand in his own and holding it like he had nothing else to hold onto although not gripping it tight enough to hurt Stacey. “I’m sorry, I guess just seeing you brought it all back to me that I may never have seen you again.” That wasn’t quite what was getting him down but it was definitely what had made him cry the soon as he saw her.
He took a few deep breaths and then continued, “So many things going through my head Stace sugar and some of them I knew I could only talk to you about and then there are some things that I know even you will say I’m silly about but can’t stop thinking about it.” Dom explained in a slightly sad voice feeling annoyed that he was like this when he should have been happy that he had survived and was on the mend and happy that he could be talking to Stacey now. But he had to get these things off his chest and Stacey was definitely the best person to talk to about it, she was like his tonic besides Sam and after everything Sam had been through in the past twelve plus hours he just didn’t want him to face it.
“First of all do you know what happened yesterday? I mean has anybody told you any proper details about what actually happened and more to the point who did it?” Dom said wanting to know how much Stacey knew about the incident before he spoke some more about what was on his mind. Chances were high though that it had been in the media by now what with his pop star status but he also knew that Stacey would have had her hands full with Ebony and may not be aware of the full circumstances. A part of him knew that he was crazy for thinking the way he was thinking about this, but he couldn’t help it and he had to talk to someone about it, and that person was Stacey.
