Saturday, 10th April, 2010 After doing such a great job with a company’s new website Adam was given tickets to a ballet playing at one of the big theatres in Los Angeles and although it wasn’t something Adam would normally have been interested in he knew that he couldn’t appear ungrateful and accepted the tickets and began to wonder who he could take to the ballet with him. Of course Adam was paid for creating and designing websites because it was his job but sometimes the companies that were bigger, always gave him a personal gift too. Tonight was the night for the ballet which was ‘Swan Lake’, he had heard great reviews about the ballet, but from the Russian Ballet Dancers rather than local ballet dancers. Maybe that was the reason why he felt like he could actually give this one a go, the fact that it would be American dancers and possibly local girls. He ended up having to go the ballet alone and could only hope that he wouldn’t get a lot of people whispering calling him sad or a loner. His tickets were for the front row so he knew he was going to have an awesome view. He bought one of the brochures and began to flick through it after making his way to his seat. He flicked to the middle pages where the principal dancers were listed with photographs and one stood out at him. Quinn Foster, she was stunning and looked so petite, almost like a china doll. The lights soon dimmed and the dancers began to come onto the stage along to the music and Adam got himself comfortable getting ready to enjoy the show. The soon as he saw Quinn he was mesmerised by her dancing. Her moves were stunning and seemed so effortless and she looked even more beautiful on the stage than in the photograph. The rest of the ballet was just amazing and Quinn remained stunning throughout and he knew that when it was over he was going to have to see if he could catch her outside at the backstage door. So when the finale was apparent and the curtains were closed for the final time and lights went up he got up from his seat quickly and began sort of running through the crowds excusing himself until he got to the backstage door. It had taken him a good twenty minutes to get through the crowd and he wasn’t even sure if she would already be gone or if he might even have to wait longer for her. There were a few people waiting but he hoped they weren’t all waiting to see Quinn, although there did seem to be a few women waiting so he figured they were waiting for the principal male to come out. Suddenly there were a few screams and Adam knew that meant that some of them must have been coming out and he pushed through but someone else moved at the same time and tripped him up and he began to fall right into the path of Quinn knocking her off her feet and taking her with him as he fell. Luckily he had fallen first and so he had cushioned her fall, if you could call his great hunk of height and muscles a cushion. He quickly stood up with his hands on Quinn’s back taking her with him into an upright position and he gently turned her to face him. His face was full of concern, “I uhm, I am so sorry about that, I just wanted to come out and say how graceful you were on the stage, but someone tripped me up and well, I uhm, took you with me.” He sort of rambled out and then stood there giving her a really apologetic look and chewing on the inside of his cheek, “I really am sorry.” He said again hoping that she wouldn’t get too mad at him and forgive him and maybe talk to him and not think he was some idiot loon with no manners. {ooc - hope this was okay for you? And that the ballet title is good, if not I can amend it to anything you want}

"Okay sweetpea, make-up is done." Quinn opened her eyes and smiled ever so slightly. She was now the Swan princess, ready to lead the rest of the female dancers into the spotlight on stage. She stood up, the feathers on her dress tingling her spine. Delicately Quinn placed her hands on the make up counter and stared at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were lit with lightly golden eyeshadow and then dark black eyeliner, outlining her hazel eyes. Her cheeks were also slightly golden. The rest of her skin was a ghostly white.
"Thanks Ang, I'll see you halfway." Quinn left the make-up room smiling. The corridors were packed with the production team and various dancers having last minute touch ups. She found all the straight men staring at her, just as they did on the streets. Luckily a lot of the guys were gay, and she loved them for it. It meant having men talk to her rather than stare at her and try to get it on with her. Quinn didn't like attention from men much, not since Damien. She hadn't had a boyfriend since him and kind of liked it that way. Nate and her father James were the only two men she trusted with all her heart. Other guys she liked and got on with, but she was always wary of them, despite trying to see the good in everyone.
As the lights dimmed the swans began dancing out onto the stage. Quinn stood tinily between two male swans, Dean and Jack. They were both lovely. Jack was gay, and probably one of the funniest people she had ever met. And Dean, was the only man she had found attractive since... well you know. They lifted her up with ease and she flew out onto the stage, being dropped lightly in the middle. Her heart thudded. Everyone was now staring at her. Over a thousand people. She dropped to her knees and looked up into the spotlight. Then, the lead male, Sam came onto the stage. Such a beautiful man and a graceful dancer. He lifted her up and she performed a perfect pirouette.
The rest of the ballet continued without a hitch. Quinn was given the loudest applause she had ever heard, except for in New York when she heard her father and Nate screaming at the top of their lungs. She grinned, her pearly white teeth making several males in the third row wolf whistle. As she walked off stage she was greeted with hugs and bouquets of flowers. There was a bunch that stood out to her, Birds of Paradise in a clear vase. She smiled and read the card in tallest flower.
'Dear Quinnie, your favourites... now go get a real job. Love Nate. x'
Quinn couldn't help but giggle and put the card back on top of the flowers. She began to change into a small pair of skinny jeans and a baggy white vest top. As much as she loved looking special and glamorous, she preferred comfortable clothes. As she slipped on her converse trainers and grabbed her bag, one of the PA's came rushing in. "Quinnie, which flowers shall we take to your hotel room?" Quinn smiled and pointed at the flowers central to her dressing room table. "They're my favourite, but I don't mind other than them. I'll take them all if need be." The PA nodded at her and ran off. Quinn closed the door to her dressing room and began making her way to the backstage door.
The screams were evident two corridors away. It must have meant Sam was outside, signing autographs for all the young girls. He was by far the most popular other than herself. She smiled as she saw Dean waiting for her by the backstage door. "Hey beautiful." He said, going to take her bag. "I've got it D." She said thankfully. He nodded and opened the door for her. She stepped out and was almost blinded by the flashing lights. Dean was pulled away from her by some other girls. He was also extremely popular with the girls, especially the teenagers. She rolled her eyes laughing and saw a group of guys looking eagerly at her. Before she could start signing autographs or taking photos she was pushed and shoved. Her bag fell to the floor and she fell onto something soft... or someone. She suddenly became aware that she might have been clumsy and tripped them up.
Using her feet, Quinn went to get up, but felt a strong pair of hands on her back, pushing her upright. She had her eyes shut as she was slightly embarrassed and the fact she may have caused it. But then, when she opened them, she saw the most handsome man she had ever laid eyes on. He was blonde, and had gasp-worthy eyes. He looked worried, as if he had hurt her. "You were tripped up? So was I! Ha, what a coincidence." She smiled at him, her teeth just showing through her rosy lips. "Don't apologise, it's um... it's fine." Quinn felt shy, for the first time ever really. "So you liked the show? I'm so glad. Not often we get good looking guys enjoying it, they're either gay or too straight to handle. I prefer the gay ones myself, but hey..." She paused, losing the smile from her face. "Did I just say that out loud?" Quinn bit down on her bottom lip, smiling nervously at him. Never had she wanted to hint she found him attractive... men were just a no no, even Dean.
"Q? I tried to find you and... Who's this?" Dean smiled at the guy, nodding his head slightly. Quinn didn't take her eyes of his chest, which was directly in view from her height. In her mind, she was giggling frantically, she knew if she didn't calm down her wings would expand. Not that it would matter much, humans didn't see them unless they believed in angels. But it still worried her.
{OOC- I love her already xD Sorry I didn't realise how long it was =/)

{ooc - never apologise for length lol and it's great that you love her - also there is an Adam skin if you want to use it - I can incorporate a picture of Nat to make it Adam & Quinn skin later}
Adam couldn’t believe that he had literally knocked Quinn off her feet when he had been tripped up, he felt terrible. She was so petite, thank goodness that she landed on top of him and not the other way around or she might not have lived to tell the tale with his great hunk of a height and body on top of her. Adam had then apologised to her and explained that he had been tripped up and took her with him. Quinn soon spoke saying that she had been tripped up too adding that it was a coincidence. When Quinn gave him that smile he couldn’t help but give her one back. “Maybe it is a coincidence, or maybe it was meant to happen.” Adam said and realised how cheesy that last part sounded and then he sort of gave a nervous chuckle from the obvious chat up line he had just used on Quinn. Then Quinn was telling him he didn’t have to apologise. “Okay thanks, as long as I didn’t hurt you then that is all that matters.” Adam said giving her a warm smile as he looked down at her, he was massive next to her small frame.
Quinn then asked if he had enjoyed the show and then rambled on a little bit slightly and Adam just stood there watching her with a rather bemused expression on his face and not quite sure what to say next to her because of what she was saying about preferring gay men herself. Then the smile she had sort of left and she asked if she had said it out loud. Adam couldn’t help but grin slight as he shook his head and then smiled back at her. “Firstly, yes I did enjoy the show as it happens which is a total surprise, never thought ballet would be my thing but you were just so enjoyable to watch and secondly you did say it loud and if you prefer gay guys I’ve got a bit of news for you, they don’t swing your way.” Adam said teasing with her a little and then chuckled some more. His eyes were sparkling slightly as he continued to look down at her and wishing that he had bought some flowers now as he could have given them to her.
Suddenly someone else joined Quinn talking to her but then asked who Adam was and smiled at Adam as he nodded his head in obvious acknowledgement. Adam smiled back at the guy unable to remember all the dancers’ names but pretty sure that he was one of them. “I would be Adam Embry, just your average guy who happened to be given tickets to this ballet for a good job I had done designing someone’s website and knew that I had to come round and remark on the incredible performance by Quinn. Although I do have to say that you were all wonderful but Quinn was the one who got my interest the most.” Because she was stunning on the stage and stunning now as I stand here talking to her and looking at her he continued to say in his own head. Adam noticed that Quinn seemed to be somewhat rather engrossed in his chest.
Okay so he was a good bit taller than her and her eye line happened to be right at his chest, but anyone else would have done their best to divert their eyes. He couldn’t help but smile to himself that maybe she was finding him just the tiniest bit attractive but Adam wasn’t really the type to be conceited like that. He soon chuckled slightly and couldn’t help but say to her, “My face is a little further up you know, you won’t find anything good there, well, not while there is material covering it at any rate.” Adam chuckled some more and waited to see if she would actually look up at him or not.

Quinn looked at his smile and couldn't help but blush ever so slightly. "Well everything happens for a reason, so yeah I guess it was meant to happen." She smiled at him, the ever so slight dimples appearing in her cheeks. But she heard the nervous chuckle he gave afterward, as if he was mentally kicking himself. Quinn continued smiling at him and then told him he didn't have to apologise. "Naw, you didn't hurt me." Quinn smiled to herself, rolling her eyes upwards as she thought, how near impossible it was to hurt her unless she was feeling vulnerable but she hadn't been hurt in a while now so it didn't matter. Plus her strength had helped the fall as she made herself virtually weightless.
When Quinnie realised how much she rambled on she felt her cheeks blush again. It was strange, she never ever got nervous in front of men she liked unless she felt threatened or scared by them. But this was a different kind of nerves, a feeling in her stomach which made her feel light headed. The stranger's grin made her knees feel like jelly. He was just beautiful. Of course Quinn's opinion of beauty varied from others opinions. She admired the way people looked, but believed true beauty was neither inside or out. She believed it was both, and their soul. Being half angel, she believed in heaven... and hell. She also believed that everyone was crafted by their parents, but their souls were made by God. Her faith was undeniable, but she didn't know who crafted this man... he seemed too perfect for words.
Her giggle was loud when he said that gay guys don't swing her way. "I know that, but they don't look at me in that way, they treat me like a normal human being... unlike straight guys." Quinn sighed heavily and bent down to pick up her bag. She balanced on one leg and looked like she was performing a ballet move. Her elegance was incredible. Once she was standing normally again she brushed a wave of hair away from her face, "Also, glad you liked the show. First one is always the most nerve-racking." She noticed his eyes sparkling and felt her knees wobble again. She giggled nervously.
Luckily Dean came into the picture to stop Quinn embarrassing herself further. Dean managed to get his name in less than thirty seconds than Quinn could in five minutes. "Adam Embry? Wait I know you, you are the web designer, the one that designed one of those big social networking sites." Dean held out his hand and grinned at the guy. Quinn didn't notice and kept her eyes firmly looking directly in front of her, which happened to be Adam's chest. She didn't even notice when Adam said that Quinn was the one he was most interested in. She was staring into his chest, not even realising.
When Adam chuckled she snapped out of her trance and looked up at him, taking a step back into Dean's chest. "Woah littlen, I know you want me but no need to be so obvious about it." Dean chuckled his pearly white teeth shining brightly. Quinn wasn't smiling, she felt awkward, even more so when Dean wrapped his arms around her. But she stared at Adam's chest again, not wanting to look at Dean who was beginning to act schmoozy with her. Adam chuckled and she looked into his eyes. He said she wouldn't find anything good there, not while there was material covering it. Her eyes lit up slightly and she smiled awkwardly, feeling even more embarrassed than before.
Dean kept his arms firmly wrapped around her, making her nervous and not the nervous Adam was making her feel. She knew he meant well, but his grip was far too firm for her liking. "Me, Quinn and Sam are going for drinks at the hotel bar, more than welcome to join us." Quinn looked up at Adam and nodded her head at him, her eyes wide. She smiled, "It'd be lovely to sit down and have a chat." She commented, looking down at her feet.

When Adam had made the comment about it being a coincidence or maybe it was meant to happen he had mentally kicked himself for such a cheesy line but luckily Quinn responded to it with a smile saying that everything happens for a reason so guessed it was meant to happen. Adam lifted a hand up to his ear and played around with it slightly as he continued to smile at her. “I guess so.” He replied not sure what else he could say as she had made sense and in a way he was glad that she hadn’t picked up on what he had clearly thought was a cheesy chat up line. When Quinn said that he hadn’t hurt her he gave her yet another smile. “Well that’s good then as I would hate to be the cause of you not being able to dance for a while.” He replied and ran his hand through his hair slightly as he did so. When Adam had said that he had news for her saying that gay guys don’t swing her way he heard her giggle and he had to chuckle some more as he raised his eyebrows. Quinn then replied saying she knew that but what she said after it made him frown slightly. Why would any straight guy want to be mean to her? She was just like a little doll and a very happy one at that from what Adam could tell with her smiling face and giggles. “Well last time I looked I’m straight, and I think if I’m not mistaken other than knocking you off your feet by accident that I’m treating you like a normal human being?” Adam said a little bemused by what she was telling him. Maybe he needed to turn gay to get her attention more he thought. He then watched as she bent down to pick up her bag doing a perfect ballet pose and Adam couldn’t help but think how graceful it looked, even out here in the street like that. He couldn’t resist making a remark about it, “Look at that, graceful off stage as well as on, but I think I already expected that of you anyway.” He said giving her another bright smile. He wasn’t trying to embarrass her so he hoped that he didn’t see her blushing again after what he had just said this time. He was just simply being honest. Quinn then spoke more saying she was glad he enjoyed the show adding that the first one was always nerve -racking. “I can imagine that it is, I think anything anybody does on stage to an audience can be nerve-racking but you were amazing out there, stunning in fact in every sense of the word.” Adam replied going all out with her but not trying to butter her up, just being completely honest to what he had seen while she performed. When one of the guys, another dancer if Adam remembered rightly asked who he was he didn’t hesitate to give his name. The guy then questioned his name and added that he knew him speaking of him designing one of the social networking sites. Adam grinned slightly but shook his head a little, “Well, I can’t take full credit for it, I work for the company who was given the job, but I played a hand in it, yeah.” The guy had held his hand out and Adam took it and shook it, “Pleased to meet you, sorry I don’t recall your name from the brochure.” Adam said to him and watched as Quinn said nothing continuing to stare in the general direction of his chest, although a lot of that was probably to do with the great difference in their height. Adam couldn’t help but chuckle slightly at her eye view. He watched as she looked up at him and then stepped back right into the guy that Adam had just been speaking to.. When the guy spoke to her about it Adam felt a little bit awkward suddenly, here he was trying to butter her up when maybe she was keen on this other guy. However he saw that Quinn wasn’t smiling even less when the guy had wrapped his arms around her, it was almost as if she was uncomfortable with him or something but Adam felt it wasn’t in his place to say anything, after all he was just a happy audience member who had come round to praise Quinn. When he spoke about there being nothing good there, not while material was covering at any rate he watched her eyes light up slightly but the smile made him think he had embarrassed her. “I uhm, sorry, I shouldn’t have said that.” Now it would appear to be Adam’s turn to be slightly awkward. While the other guy kept his arms around Quinn Adam couldn’t help but to think that she wasn’t comfortable with his grip on her and he really wanted to say something but didn’t know if he should when he didn’t know the facts. Adam knew that he could read her thoughts, but he wasn’t the type of person to violate another person’s mind not unless he felt that it was really necessary. However the other guy soon spoke saying they were going for drinks and that he would be welcome to join them. He was going to refuse until he saw Quinn look up at him with her eyes wide and smiling and nodding her head then commented that it would be lovely to sit down and have a chat. Well how could he refuse that? Adam began to nod his head a little and smiled down at Quinn, “Sure, why not then, how can I say no to such wonderful company. Lead the way my good man.” Adam said as he waited for the guy to make his way to wherever it was they were going to go and looked back at Quinn and gave her a smile. Then he had a thought as he saw a garage just up ahead. “Just give me a minute will you please?” He said and then he quickly made his way over to the garage because sometimes they had them and sometimes they didn’t, but as luck would have it, this one did. He picked up a bouquet and paid for them and then made his way back over to where they were. “If I had thought about it, I could have bought a single red rose to throw onto the stage for you, but I’m afraid these will have to suffice.” He said as he handed over the small bouquet he had managed to get at the garage.

A normal human being. The words echoed through her mind as they had done before. Quinn had longed to be normal for years, she usually argued with her father and brother about it because they thought she was perfect. Quinn didn't think she was perfect, she thought she was a freak. She had never met another person who could grow wings from their backs and who was the daughter of the Angel of Beauty. She never believed it at first, but then she saw how it was true. Her beautiful brown eyes gazed up at Adam suddenly and she nodded, biting down on her bottom lip. "Yeah... I guess you are."
When Quinn picked her bag up elegantly and in a perfected ballerina pose, she heard an applause by some of the fans and some gasps from some of the guys. She thanked God she didn't have telepathy at that point. God knows what half of them were thinking. When she was back on both feet she brushed her hair away from her face and flushed red when Adam complimented her. The two of them went on to talk about the show. Quinn didn't expect Adam to be so generous and complimenting with his words. It was heart-warming. "Thank you." She whispered ever so quietly.
Whilst Dean aquainted himself with Adam, Quinn continued to stare directly at his chest. She didn't even mean too; Dean was a very 'hands-on' guy. He loved wrapping his arms around girls and stuff like that. Quinn wasn't as keen. When she stepped back into his chest, her eyes were locked with Adam's. When he said there was nothing good there, not while there was material covering it, Quinn's smile was awkward, but meaning to be. She actually liked the fact he was kind of flirting with her. It was harmless, and he wasn't being crude either.
When Adam agreed to go to drinks with them, Quinn found herself relieved. Especially at the fact it meant that Dean would soon let go of her. As soon as Adam said he needed a minute, Sam walked over. Dean unwrapped his arms from Quinn and rolled his eyes. He and Sam weren't the best of friends. Sam seemed to grab the ladies attention and keep it for a lot longer than he could. That was of course because Sam was a gentleman. Quinn called him a gentle giant, because of his extraordinary height. He was a staggering six foot seven, well over a foot taller than Quinn. But his height didn't bother him, he was very elegant, despite being tall.
"Hey Quinnie, who's that?" He asked politely, standing next to her. She looked up at him and smiled, "That's Adam Embry, a very well known web designer. He seems lovely." Sam heard the tone in her voice and couldn't help but smile. He looked at Quinn as a sister rather than a love interest, despite her beauty, she was only human... at least he thought she was. Adam came running back and Quinn's eyes lit up. She loved simple flowers, even though Birds of Paradise were her favourite, tulips were still up there in her favourites. She took them from him, her hand grazing his fingertips slightly. Her eyes closed and she lifted them to her face, smelling them. "They're just wonderful." Quinn's eyes opened and she looked up at Adam, her cheeks rosy.
"Let's go then." Dean said quickly and hailed the car over. Quinn held the flowers in one hand whilst walking next to Adam. "I'm sorry about Dean, he's very... persistent." She sighed lightly, and took in the scent of the flowers again, her heart skipping a beat. She was glad Adam couldn't hear her thoughts at that point, well at least she didn't think he could. 'No guy has ever done that for me, he may only be a fan... but garage flowers, it's so romantic.' She smiled again.

When Adam had made the comment that he was treating her like a normal human being he was using it as a term of speech having no idea that she was far from a normal human being. He saw the way that she looked up at him and he thought to himself that those eyes could melt any heart and right now they were melting his and the cute way she bit on her bottom lip melted his heart all the more if that was even possible. She then replied to his comment saying that she guessed he was. “Well that’s good then because I wouldn’t want it any other way.” He replied and smiled down at her throwing in a wink as well.
After Quinn had perfected a ballet pose while picking up her bag and he had complimented her on it as well as the show he saw that she had gone quite red. He hadn’t meant to embarrass her as he was only stating the truth but he wasn’t the type of person to play up on someone’s embarrassment and so never said anything about it. When she thanked him in a very quiet voice he leant forward a little and said in a quiet voice back to her, “You’re welcome.” His face was inches away from her and at any other moment he might have just closed the gap and kissed her but in front of the crowd it just wasn’t something he felt he could do and so he moved back from her again.
After Adam had said he would join them for drinks he had noticed a garage nearby and wanted to see if they would sell flowers and so he said he would be right back. Naturally he was unaware of the conversation that struck up between Quinn and the new guy Sam that appeared and as luck would have it the garage did have some lovely flowers and he bought them and went running back to where he had left Quinn. He then handed them over to her and as her hand brushed his fingertips a little he felt a slight touch of electricity flow through him. He couldn’t keep the smile off of his face as she closed her eyes and lifted them to her face taking in their scent. She really was truly stunning he thought.
Quinn soon replied saying that they were just wonderful and he noticed the colour in her cheeks. He looked down at her and smiled some more, “You’re welcome; I wish they could have been something better.” What he meant by that was he wished he could have remembered to have bought a bouquet of flowers before leaving to go to the ballet as he should have known that there would have been at least one female dancer worthy of them. Adam then approached the other guy who was now on the scene and held his hand out, “Hi, Adam Embry, pleased to meet you, you guys are all awesome you know.” No sooner had he done this than the one named Dean insisted that they leave. Quinn was walking beside him he noticed and she soon spoke up apologising for Dean saying that he could persistent. He looked down at her and gave her a warm smile, “No need to apologise for him.” He then leant into her ear so that he could continue with saying, “I’m not exactly that interested in him, someone much more beautiful and graceful is interesting me much more.” He then stood straight again and looked back down at her and smiled warmly at her once more.
As they continued to walk he noticed that she was taking in the scent of the flowers again and he couldn’t help but smile to himself. They might not have been anything too flashy but she seemed to really appreciate them and that made Adam feel good about it. Adam was never one to pry into another person’s mind not unless he felt it was necessary but right now with his interest being piqued in Quinn he wasn’t exactly concentrating on keeping his mind shut to others and he soon heard a few thoughts drifting through from Quinn’s mind and a small smile came over his face which got bigger. He didn’t catch everything, only the bit about the garage flowers being so romantic and he wondered if he should maybe say something about the fact that he was special, as he would hate for another moment like that to pass for him to hear something he really shouldn’t.
He put his hand on her arm gently; pulling them away from the other guys briefly and gave her a weak smile as he ran a hand through his hair slightly. “Uhm, there is probably something I should tell you about me, but I want you to know that I don’t do it on purpose. Have you heard of Evolved Humans at all?” He asked and waited for a few seconds for her to respond before carrying on, “Well I am one, and my main power is Technopathy but I also have Telekinesis and Telepathy, which means if I’m not careful or concentrating hard enough I often pick up on people’s thoughts. I just thought I should tell you in case you ever say something in your head that you might not want me to know.” He gave her a weak smile then and couldn’t help but add, “I just caught the tail end of what you said and well that’s nice to know.” He said and this time it was Adam’s turn to feel his face flush a nice red colour as nobody had ever said he was romantic although he liked to think that he was.

As Quinn walked beside Adam, she felt safe, more safe than if she were walking along with Dean. That's when she spoke to apologise to him for Dean's behaviour. Despite only being friends with Dean, Quinnie felt that she should say sorry for the way he was acting. He was possessive, and Quinn really didn't like it. She wasn't his, she wasn't anybody's. Adam said there was no need to apologise for Dean, making Quinn feel slightly more at ease. She was still adrenaline pumped from the performance, which she was hiding surprisingly well at the moment. Quinn then felt Adam lean down to her ear, she felt his breath on her neck which made her knees weak. Adam went on to say he wasn't exactly interested in Dean and that someone much more beautiful and graceful was interesting him more. Quinn smiled, her cheeks warming slightly. "Samuel then?" She giggled, knowing full well what he meant.
As the two continued walking, Quinn took in the scent of the flowers again. She was almost slowing down to a stop as she did. The silence between them wasn't awkward, in fact, it was rather wonderful. Quinn felt that if you could be in silence with someone longer than a few minutes, it meant they were special, and you had a connection. No-one other than Nate and her father could do that with her. Yet now, she was doing it with someone she just met. Someone she liked too. Her thoughts ran wild all of a sudden. What if this was 'the one'? What if Adam was in fact her dream guy? Then they all stopped. She wasn't normal. She wasn't like anyone else. Her heart sunk and she continued to walk alongside Adam.
Quinn felt a hand gently touch her arm, stopping her from walking. Adam smiled down at her as the rest of the guys continued walking towards the cars. She noticed how he ran his other hand through his beautiful blonde hair. He started talking, the nerves in his voice were clear. Quinn tilted her head slightly, then heard the words 'Evolved Human'. Her heart stopped. He couldn't be could he? "Yes, I know what an Evolved Human is..." She said quietly. Quinn could feel her wings pounding against her back. 'Oh God...' She thought. She listened to Adam tell her his abilities. She sighed heavily, but smiled up at him. As she looked up, she noticed the clouds gathering. It wasn't raining yet. "Well, if we're being brutally honest... maybe you should know something about me too." Quinn hadn't told anyone about being half Angel in the longest time. It felt better not too, less risk of getting hurt really.
As her lips parted to speak, a flash of lightning struck, imprinting the outline of her wings on the pavement below. She looked up at Adam, then down at the outline. Tears filled her eyes. He'd probably run off, thinking she was a freak. "I..." She couldn't bring herself to say it. Luckily the guys had turned the corner to get in the car, and no-one else was around except for the pair of them. The raindrops started falling. Quinn continued looking up at Adam, the tears now blending in with the rain. "I'm sorry. I'm an... angel. Well half at least."
