Saturday 29th May 2010 Caitlin stopped the car in the carpark near the harbour, and just sat in the drivers set for a few moments. It was only mid morning, but she felt like she had been going non-stop all morning. She had to get her daughter, Mallory, up earlier than normal, as she was going to stay with Caitlin's parents for the day. Caitlin had signed up to be part of the art exhibition near the harbour, at the building that they had done up for special events. And Caitlin guessed that this was a special event. The money that was raised was going to go towards the extension that were planned for the harbour. Recently they had had a few people wanting to put their boats there, but due to limited room, they had to go elsewhere, so the harbour master, and committee were losing money. Caitlin felt she could go on again, and she stepped out, and retrieved her things from the boot of the car. She got her trolley out, and began to stack on it her finished drawings on canvases, and her samples of her clothes, just in case anyone wanted to take a look at the real dresses that she had drawn. Also Caitlin brought some spare books and canvases, just in case she had some down time and decided to do some sketches. Finally it was all out, and she shut the boot, then made her way towards the exhibit area. She kept looking back to make sure that nothing was going to fall off the trolley, as she was wheeling it over the gravel of the carpark and it was quite rough. Just as she looked back, she wasn't looking at the front and she kicked her shoe on a large rock, making her fall down. The canvases, paper, and everything else went flying and floated or dropped to the ground. "Just great!" Caitlin sat up, taking in what the damage was. Her nice new pants were ripped on the left knee, and there was some blood. Then she saw some scrapes on her hands, when she had put them out to stop herself. She slowly stood up, but her leg felt a bit sore, around the knee area. Looking at what happened to all of her stuff on the trolely, she just stamped her right foot an anger. "Fuck. What am I going to do now?" Caitlin limped over and began to try and salvage what she could.

Hayden looked around the special events room, which was currently being set up as an art exhibit. He had to work that day because of it, when really he would prefer to be doing work outside with the boats. He didn’t mind the fact that he had to work, it was more the fact that he was working inside. Although the art that surrounded him didn’t bother him either. It was all for a good cause anyway, so he wasn’t about to complain. The harbour needed the extensions that were being planned. Hopefully this exhibition would raise enough money to be able to do it too, as if they kept losing business & money like they had been, rumour amongst his co-workers was that some of them may lose their jobs. Hayden felt pretty safe in his job though, thanks to his family linage, which sadly helped him out at times.
Surveying the room, Hayden could see that all the artists who had arrived so far were managing to set up fine on their own, so he decided to go outside & see if there was any other jobs for him to do, instead of having him sit around waiting for the next artist to arrive, trying to bring in everything at once. Why they couldn’t take a few trips, Hayden couldn’t understand, but it wasn’t his place to say anything – not that he would. Luckily, so far there had been no accidents, & none of the artists or their work had been harmed. Of course there was only four there so far, & it was only about mid morning. They had all day to set up, as the exhibition wouldn’t be officially opening until six, that night. Then it would be open to the public until the following Tuesday night.
Outside, Hayden was just a few minutes late to prevent what would hopefully be the first & only accident. Hayden watched as the young woman’s work went everywhere, praying that nothing would be harmed. He took a few steps forward, planning on helping the woman up, although she wasn’t really anywhere near him, but then saw her slowly get up herself. Not wanting her to hurt herself more, Hayden hurried over to help her pick her stuff up. “You ok? Here let me help you.” Hayden said as he picked up some canvases & books. “If you are injured badly, I can help you inside so you can receive some medical assistance, & then come back out & get this for you if you want?” Hayden hoped he didn’t sound like he thought the woman couldn’t do it herself, & like he really was concerned about her welfare since he was.

Caitlin just couldn't believe what had happened. Sometimes when she was in a hurry, or did too much, stuff would happen, just like now. Caitlin had turned where she was, and looked at the damage. She couldn't really make out what might be ruined or might be able to be salvaged, but she hoped that it could all be used for today. Looking at what had happened to herself, she just knew this was the start of a bad day. As Caitlin got up off the ground, she heard a male voice talking to her. She looked up as she began to limp over to her stuff on the ground, and noticed the guy was young, and could be around her own age.
"Thanks. Help would be good." Caitlin had stopped then commented on what she was going to do now, just seeing all of her belongings all over the ground. She sighed, then attempted to bend down to pick up one of the canvases, and squinted a little with the pain, standing up straight. The guy then spoke of if she was injured, he could help her inside to get some medical assistance, then come and get her stuff after. Caitlin didn't want to leave her belongings out in the open, as some of it was quite expensive, and she had saved up the money to get most of this herself. "If you don't mind, I would rather my stuff be taken in first. It's just that ... that it ..... I would rather take care of that before myself." Caitlin gave him a small smile, hoping he would some how understand.
She then tried again to bend over and take a few things off the ground, placing them in her arms as much as she could. "Whatever is left, just place on the trolley." Once all of it was picked up, Caitlin made her way slowly towards the building that had signage outside displaying the art exhibition that was to be held that night. As they walked the short distance, Caitlin turned to the guy, "Thanks again. I guess I was trying to be Miss Independant again and getting it all done in one lot." She gave him a bit of a smile, "My name's Caitlin," she offered, and soon enough they were inside the building.
They were met by an older man, "Hello there. Are you here for the exhibition?" Caitlin nodded, and just wanted to go and sit for a moment, "Yes. Caitlin Orlando. I think I was part of the designer section or something, if I remember what was told to me over the phone." The older man nodded, and looked down at his clipboard, and soon saw her name. "Yes. Right this way." Caitlin was glad that the walk to where she had to set up wasn't that far away, as she limped a little towards her booth. The man noticed this as they stopped. "Are you okay Miss Orland?" Caitlin shook her head, "I am such a klutz, and fell over outside. But this nice young man came to my rescue." She grinned at him, then turned back. "Okay. Well if you need anything, just let me know." The older man than walked away.
Caitlin turned to the guy, "Well looks like he thinks that I can handle myself." She shrugged a little, then quickly placed what she had in her arms on the table, and hobbled over to the chair, sitting down. "That's better. Couldn't wait to sit down." She looked up, giving a sheepish grin. "If that medical assistance is still open for the taking, won't say no now."

Hayden had no idea if any of the fallen things were going to be ruined or not, but he hoped for the woman’s sake it wasn’t. Hayden just nodded when the woman thanked him, saying that help would be good. He then continued to pick up more of her things, watching as she squinted from the pain. It was then he offered the medical assistance, though he had doubted that she would accept.
The woman’s response was as he expected; a refusal. He smiled, nodding, hoping that she would see that he understood that she wanted to do it herself. He would hate for something to happen to all her hard work, plus the woman didn’t even know him. “Of course.” He agreed, but continued to watch her attempting to retrieve er stuff from the ground.
She then gave him some instructions, so he placed what he was holding onto the trolley. Soon enough everything was picked up, & had been placed back on her trolley. As the woman made her way with some of her things in her arms to the building, Hayden walked beside her with her trolley. As they were walking the woman introduced herself as Caitlin. With a smile Hayden answered with his own name. “It’s ok, as long as you & your work are still in one piece, Caitlin. I’m Hayden.” He nodded his head at her trolley when he mentioned her work. Luckily they made it to the door without any more accidents.
Hayden stood off a bit as Caitlin signed in with the event organiser. His job for the day was to assist the artists if they needed it, & he planned to continue to assist Caitlin for as long as she needed, since she had injured herself. He listened as she mentioned that she would be part of the designer section, which made the material she had make sense, not that he had really payed complete attention to what he was picking up. He just wanted to get the work off the ground before they were destroyed or a wind came & she lost it.
While walking to where Caitlin’s work would be set up, the organiser questioned if she was ok, which was when she turned to grinned at Hayden. Hayden just smiled back at her, nodding his head at the organiser to show him that he had it under control & would take care of Caitlin’s injuries & needs.
Hayden positioned the trolley next to the table so it was out of the way, nodding as he listened to what Caitlin was saying. “Guess he presumes I will be able to handle helping you out, or maybe he is just scared of working with artists as I haven’t actually seen him spend too much time with anyone. Not that there are many people here yet.” Hayden joked, looking around the room as he mentioned how there was only four other artists there.
It was then that Caitlin asked if the offer for medical assistance was still open. With a smile Hayden nodded. “Of course it is still open; we can’t have you walking around injured. I will be right back.” Hayden then turned to go get the first aid, without waiting for a response from Caitlin. It only took him about a minute to get the first aid, & another minute to return to Caitlin.
Once he returned, he placed the first aid on the table, opening it as he spoke. “Where do you hurt the most? I was thinking your leg, but if there is any other areas which you feel need attention more, then I am happy to see what I can do about them.” Hayden smiled at her. “That is, if you are comfortable with me applying the first aid as you could always be independent & do it yourself.” Hayden jokingly referred to how she had called herself miss independent; as he checked that Caitlin would be comfortable with a male she didn’t know assisting her.

Caitlin soon introduced herself to the guy, and he replied to what she said, soon stating his own name. She gave him a smile, and nodded, "Nice to meet you. Despite already getting help from you without asking your name first. But that's me, thinking of myself first." She gave a nervous giggle, then rolled her eyes. Rambling as always, thought Caitlin. In one way she was happy that someone had come to her help, as she knew that after that little spill it would have taken a few trips to where she had to set up.
When Caitlin made the comment about how the older man spoke to her, she listened to what Hayden said about it. She smirked a little as Hayden spoke, and then gave him a smile towards the end. "Well maybe I should just ask you for help during the day then, if he won't be any help to me. I hope that I don't come over scary, but I know what I want, and if he can't handle that, then might as well stay out of his way." Caitlin giggled a little, and looked at Hayden. "As long as you aren't too busy to hang around for a while."
When she asked about the medical assistance, seeing if the offer was still open, Caitlin smiled all the more. She opened her mouth, but he was soon off getting whatever he needed to help her. Caitlin sat back in the chair, and then sat forward, looking at her knee. She winced at the sting of the wound, and just shook her head at what she had done. "Why did I have to buy new clothes, just to get them ruined," Caitlin said in a quiet voice, mainly talking to herself. She looked at her hands, and they weren't that bad, just a bit of gravel rash around her hands.
Soon enough Hayden was back, and Caitlin look at him, "Thanks so much for doing this." He soon asked her where she hurt the most, and Caitlin glanced at her knee, and when Hayden mentioned her leg, she looked up and nodded. She was going to say that he was right about her leg, when he asked if she was okay and comfortable with him applying the first aid. When the word 'independant' came up, it made her laugh. "See, this is why I shut my mouth, and try to keep my thoughts to myself. Whatever I say comes back to bite me in the ass." Caitlin laughed again, and shook her head. "Go ahead, I give you my full permission to do whatever is necessary to treat me."
Caitlin dragged over the chair next to her, and patted it, "Why don't you sit here and I will lay my leg across your lap, if that makes it easier." She waited to see what Hayden might say or maybe suggest something else.

When Caitlin said it was nice to meet him, then rambled on a little, Hayden had to smile to himself. Thanks to him not having to wear anything that would identify himself as staff, just a shirt which had the harbour’s logo on it, Caitlin probably had no idea that he worked there. Really it was his job to help her, he hadn’t just done it to be nice or something, although if he had just been there he would have helped her out anyway. “It’s nice to meet you too. No, really I should have introduced myself when I offered to help. Saving your work was far more important than silly things like names anyway.” He laughed a little when he stopped talking, knowing that he was rambling a little himself.
Once they were inside, once the event organiser had left the alone, Caitlin had commented about him just leaving them. After responding himself, he listened to what Catlin had to say in response to his joke. He hoped that he hadn’t insulted her when he said that the event organiser was scared of the artists, although it did seem like she was joking as well. “Well of course I am happy to help. That is what I am here for. To help all of you artists & designers out with whatever you need.” He smiled at her before addressing her comment about her coming over as scary. “I highly doubt that you come over as scary, at least to me so far you haven’t.”
After going to get the first aid for Caitlin’s injuries, Hayden had checked what was her most serious injury, before checking she would be fine with him assisting her. He nodded when she agreed that her leg was the more serious injury, as he had presumed as much. Her next words caused him to laugh. “I will have to remember that then, & try not to make your words bite you again. We can’t have you having more injuries.” He joked, winking at her.
When Caitlin gave him permission to do whatever he needed to do to treat her, he watched as she pulled over the other chair, offering it to him. “That sounds like a good idea, easier than you trying to hold your leg up for me, & more comfortable than me sitting on the floor.” Hayden rambled on about his two ideas that he had thought of, instead of just responding to what she had suggested.
Sitting down next to her, he waited for her to lift up her leg so he could have a look at it. “You know, it doesn’t look too bad. Pity about this hole in your pants now though.” Hayden said as he reached over to get out some of the sterile cloth out of the first aid kit, to clean the blood from her knee to have a better look. “This may sting slightly.” He warned, before cleaning the blood off to reveal that it was just a graze, as he had thought when he had first looked at it. "Feel free to talk as I do this, maybe you can tell me about your work or something?" He suggested while cleaning the blood off. Using the antiseptic from the first aid kit Hayden then cleaned the wound before looking back up at Catlin. “I can cover it if you wish, or we can just leave it. Whichever you would prefer?” He offered.

Caitlin waved him off, shaking her head when he replied. "It's okay. At least we know each other, well, at least our names, and it seems that my work is okay somewhat. Disaster diverted." She smiled at him, and heard that laugh of his which sounds like it was one that might become contagious, and anyone would want to join in.
"Oh, okay then." Caitlin nodded, and looked at Hayden. So he was there to help after all. "Well I will be sure to call you over if and when I need help during the rest of the day." Caitlin gave him a warm smile, hoping that he would be near by if and when she did in fact need him for any reason. After she commented about being maybe scary, Hayden soon replied, and it made her smile a little, giggling slightly, "Well then, glad that I am not. Would hate to show my ugly side to anyone." She then put her finger up to make a point, "But I guess there is still time for that." Caitlin could be demanding, but it was always for the good of her work.
Caitlin giggled, then laughed at what Hayden said in her response of her words biting her in the arse. "Ha ha. I have had those types of injuries before, believe me. More than I care to share." Caitlin had put her mouth in it a few times, and it never ended well, most of the time at least. She sighed a little, then let him sit on the chair, and Caitlin gently rested her leg over his lap. She let him assess the mess that was obviously there, and he soon commented. "That's good about my knee, and it is annoying about my pants. They were new too for today."
She glanced around where the exhibits were going to be displayed, and watched some more people wander in. Caitlin wondered if any small or big companies might come in and wander around too. She really hoped to get her own line of clothing one day, more so for evening wear or smart casual wear for women. Though she wouldn't mind the male clothing either, anything to work with male models. Caitlin soon heard Hayden state that what he was about to do might sting slightly. She nodded a little, then winced a little at the pain, or more so the sting of the wipes on the opened area of her knee.
As he continued to clean the area, Hayden suggested that she was free to talk, giving her an idea of what to actually talk about. Caitlin nodded, then watched him clean the wound with something else, and it stung a little, making her flinch slightly. She closed her eyes for a second, then looked at Hayden as he suggested the idea about covering it, "If it will help, then go ahead." Caitlin gavem him a bit of a smile, feeling that it was a little better after she had been cleaned up.
As Hayden did what he suggested, Caitlin shifted slightly to sit up a bit in her seat. "There really isn't much to tell about my work. I guess I just make things for me, or for others who have requested it. Some of my creations are in one of the local stores here in town. But that is as far as it has gotten. But, you know, you maybe have seen some of it around town." She then got a bit excited, "And I graduate from the local collage in a couple of weeks. So happy about that." Caitlin gave him a bright smile.
Caitlin then looked at Hayden, "So, what about you? What sort of work do you do, besides rescuing women in the parking lot?" She had to laugh, and then looked down at her knee, which looked better now than her pants. Caitlin then glanced at her hands, "Could you hand me a couple of those sterile wipes please. I can clean my hands off a bit then."

When Caitlin said that at least they knew each other, he couldn’t help but think of how he would like to actually get to know her. But he kept that thought to himself. Instead he responded to the later part, about her work being ok. “Good that the disaster was diverted then, now to keep it that way as we don’t need another one.” He smiled at her, joking but also hoping that there wouldn’t be another one.
After Hayden had commented that he was there to help he wondered if he had turned Caitlin off a little, making her think that he was only helping her because that was what he was meant to do. “Well I will be sure to be around if the need for my service arises again.” He responded, hoping that he would be able to stick around her, or her area, for the rest of the day. Caitlin then mentioned that she would hate to show her ugly side, he was about to respond when she put her finger up stopping him, so he waited until she finished her point before responding. “Everyone has an ugly side, but I think I can manage to put up with it.” He imagined that the only ugly side she would be showing would be for the benefit of her work though.
Assessing the damage to Caitlin’s knee, Hayden had commented on the damage to her pants. It didn’t surprise him that she was annoyed at her pants being destroyed. “Maybe they can be mended a little though?” He suggested, though he knew that they still would be destroyed, even if she could sew the hole back up. Hayden frowned when Caitlin winced as he cleaned her wound. If only there was a way to clean wounds without the stinging or pain. “Sorry.” He mumbled, although he knew it wasn’t his fault that it had stung.
Hayden has then suggested that she could cover the wound up, which she agreed to. As he covered the wound, he listened as Caitlin spoke about her work. He actually found it interesting, & he hadn’t asked about it just to be friendly or to give her something to think about other than what he was doing as some people would do. “Well from the little look of it I have gotten I am sure that you will go further than just a shop in town & making things for you & a few who requested.” He commented when she was done, smiling when she mentioned that she would be graduating in a few weeks. “That is exciting. I presume it is some sort of art course?” He then finished up with her leg, helping her put it back down. “How’s that?”
Caitlin then asked him what he did, making a joke about rescuing women. “Well you know; it’s always great to rescue women in the parking lot.” He laughed before actually answering her question. “Actually I also am enrolled in one of the local colleges, but I won’t be finishing just yet. I only really decided what I wanted to do last year, so almost finished my first year. Then part time I’m working here, although usually more out with the boats.” He smiled at her, doubting his little story was very interesting. She had probably just asked to be polite since he had asked her. When Caitlin asked for the sterile wipes to clean her hands, he handed them over. “Right, of course. Here you are.” He said as he passed them to her. He presumed she could manage cleaning them off by herself.

Caitlin gave Hayden a warm smile without even thinking about it. "Thanks." She knew that she may not need the help from Hayden, but if she did, Caitlin did hope that he was there to help. She didn't really appreciate having to call on the guy who she registered with. Just thinking of that guy made her shudder.
After she spoke about hating to show her ugly side, Hayden made a comment about it, then added that he could manage to put up with hit. Maybe she was just being her normal self, but she felt like she now reading too much into it. It seemed to her from what he said that he could basically handle her ugly side. Caitlin decide to not comment, despite her head telling her to. "Okay. I will attempt to hide it a bit during the exhibit then." What else could I say, she thought, as she looked away for a second. She hadn't been this close to a guy for a while, well talking a lot like this with a guy. It was always hard with studying, having a child to look after, and working.
When Hayden suggested about mending her pants, Caitlin eyed them off, and shrugged, "Maybe. Not really sure. Maybe I can give them a new look, and give myself a fashion statement. I can see it now: Why patch the arms of your jackets, why not patch the knees of your pants?" Cailtin laughed, shaking her head. "That was lame. Sorry. I will shut up now." Here she was again, making stupid comments that should have just stayed in her head. When Cailtin had winced at the stinging, she heard him mumble an apology, which led to her giving him a weak smile.
After Caitlin spoke about her work, and what she had been up to with her designing, Hayden commented on it. Hearing what he had to say aobut it made her smile, and feel a slight blush creep onto her cheeks. "Thanks. That is really nice of you to say. But I guess I will just have to wait and see how today turns out." She really wished that today would be the start of something for her, but was never hopeful, as she could see there were some people there already in her section who might be just as talented or even more so.
After she had mentioned that she was was graduating in a few weeks, Hayden stated that it was exciting, and presumed that it was some sort of art course. "It is exciting. Finally study will be over, and I can just go out and find work. And yes, it's a fashion and design course. It has really helped from what I used to do at school. It has made me better at things." In a way it had, as it had helped to define what she had been drawing and designing, bringing out her natural talent more. Hayden was soon finished with her knee, asking how it was. She glanced down, then watched him help her down with her leg. "It looks better then it did. Thanks so much."
Caitlin giggled at what he said about rescuing women in the parkling lot. Well if he hadn't of turned up she knew that she would be coming and going with the stuff. Caitlin moved slightly in her chair, and listened to what he had to say. She nodded in certain parts, finding it interesting, though he never shared what he was studying. Caitlin then asked for the sterile wipes to clean her hands off, which he handed over. She slowly took them, and began to wipe her left hand over first. Caitlin looked up at Hayden, "So what are you actually studying? It is something to do with what you do here to gain experience, or something else that you love?" Cailtin glanced down at her hand that was looking better now, and she moved the next wipe to her right hand, and then looked up to hearing what Hayden had to say.

When Caitlin said she would attempt to hide her ugly side during the exhibit, Hayden wanted to tell her that she didn’t have to do that & that he really wouldn’t mind either way. Really if she felt the need to show it, then it should be allowed to surface. However Hayden just nodded & kept his thoughts to himself. It wasn’t his place to argue with a woman he barely had just met.
Hayden had suggested that Caitlin could possibly mend her pants, she made a joke about it. Laughing Hayden shook his head. “No, you don’t have to do that. It was funny.” He said when she said she would shut up. “Really all I was thinking was you could maybe sew up the hole, but I like the idea of you starting a new fashion trend. You never know, it might catch on.” Hayden winked at her, grinning. He also was only joking. Hayden then returned to fixing up her wound for her.
When they started talking about Caitlin & her work, Hayden had complimented her, yet her response showed that just maybe she wasn’t so sure of herself. Sure Hayden didn’t know her, & hadn’t seen much of her work. But he believed she had a real chance, even if there were others out there with some talent. “Yes, we will see. You never know just who might turn up here. We are hoping that some of the lesser known aspiring artists & designers get noticed & found here though.” Hayden responded, not too sure what else he could say. He didn’t want to lie & say that something was bound to happen that day, when he didn’t know that for sure. Although he did really hope that something would happen since Caitlin seemed like a lovely person.
Caitlin then told him about her course, at which he smiled & nodded. “Of course it’s a fashion & design course, not an actual art course. How silly of me.” He said, mainly to himself, shaking his head. “It is great that your study is almost over though.” He said, before changing the subject back to her leg which he was now done with. “You’re welcome.” He smiled when she thanked him for helping her with her leg.
The subject then moved to talking about Hayden. Hayden hadn’t really told her much, just that he worked at the harbour & was enrolled in some sort of course. Sometimes he just wasn’t too comfortable telling people what the course was for. “No, nothing to do with boats. Although I would love to keep working here, I doubt my parents would approve of that.” He said, looking away. "It’s a psychology course actually.” Hayden said without looking back at Caitlin, instead looking at another designer setting up her things in the area next to Caitlin’s. He wasn’t sure what Caitlin would think about the type of course he was doing, as it may be a little off putting or sound like he wanted to be a psychiatrist, when it actually was just all part of him trying to become a social worker. It also at times made people think he was really smart, but really that had nothing to do with anything. He just wanted to help people.

Hearing Hayden's comment about what she said about the trend, it made her shake her head, and then grin just a little. She glanced to the side as her grin grew wider, and Caitlin shrugged her shoulders. Her eyes looked at Hayden again, and bit on her bottom slip very slightly, "You might be right. These days any little thing people try and copy, so you might be on to something."
Caitlin listened to what Hayden said about who might turn up today, and how they hoped what might happen today also. She hoped at at least one person might come over and love her work, but Caitlin wasn't really holding hopes. "I know I shouldn't be holding out for a miracle, but do hope for at least one person to come over and notice my talent. And seeing what others have to over might help me to understand how others work too. Hopefully there is time later for me to wander and meet some people. You never know who you might meet at these things."
Caitlin giggled a little at what Hayden said about the course, correcting himself with it. "Hey, it's okay. I guess these days there are so many courses, it is hard to know which category the courses go into these days." When looking at what she had wanted to study, when she finished school, it was crazying seeing the many courses that were there to over, even in a smaller collage.
Caitlin then listened to what Hayden said about what he was studying. She smiled a little when he commented about what he did now, and wanting to keep working at the marina. Hearing about his parents, she wondered if they were supportive of him or not. If not, that wasn't a good relationship, though for her, Caitlin couldn't really speak either. But luckily for her she was doing better with her parents, especially her dad.
Caitlin saw that he looked away as he said what he was studying, and she nodded. "So, am I getting to know a brainiac then am I?" She giggled a little, and saw that her hands were looking better after getting cleaned up, and placed the used wipes, placing them in the bin next to her table. "But seriously, what will that get you into? What sort of job are you looking at when you graduate?" Caitlin had no clue, as she knew that that type of course could get you into quite a few jobs, and she couldn't quite pin point what job Hayden might be looking at just by looking at him.

Talking about how Caitlin could start a trend by putting patches on her knees, Hayden listened as she said he was onto something. “I think you are right about people trying to copy any little thing. It’s sad when they fail & make a fool of themselves, or just when it is a bad thing to be copying.” Hayden responded, shaking his head a little thinking of how ridiculous some ‘fashion trends’ could be.
Caitlin seemed like a smart & deserving girl, so Hayden really did hope that someone noticed her work. “Yes well we’ll see, maybe it’s your day for a miracle.” He said when she said she wasn’t holding out for a miracle but hoped she would be noticed for her talent. Listening to what else she had to say Hayden had to nod in agreement. “That is true, it probably would be good for you to look over the other work, & I’m sure there will be time for that at some point.” He gave her a smile.
When Caitlin told him it was ok that he had said art course instead of fashion course since there were so many different courses out there he had to agree. “That is very true. It is all a little too complicated trying to find the exact courses that you need to get where you want to go. Having so many choices is never a good thing, even if you know what you want to do.” Hayden remembered looking over all the courses both when he knew what he was looking for, & when he didn’t exactly. At least when he first started his business courses his father had told him what courses to take. When he then went back to enrol in psychology courses he hadn’t exactly been too sure what he needed to do & what he didn’t.
After Hayden informed Caitlin of the course he was now doing, he smiled sadly at her comment about her getting to know a brainiac, even though she seemed to only be saying it jokingly. “Yeah, sure. I doubt you will find many brainiacs here sorry. Me included in that. Really I just want to help people, not too brainy or anything.” He looked back at Caitlin asked about what he actually wanted to do. “Help people, not just the odd damsel in distress, but people with psychological problems. Not really helping them work through problems, but more assist them with finding all the suitable resources they will need to be able to help themselves or find help.” He paused, knowing he was going on a little & most likely making little sense. “Eventually I’m hoping to get into social work; it just will take me a while as I have four years of this course.”
