Riley grinned. Maybe she would make waffles instead of pancakes. She truthfully didn't know what Elle liked better, pancakes or waffles. She dutifully converted what Elle had said to memory. She always wanted to make Elle happy, even if 'happy' didn't really mean Elle was happy. Riley knew that her sister now liked waffles, and using her energy, and Riley herself.
"Yeah, you're room's still there even though you haven't been here. I've kept it nice and clean." Riley was about to say more, but Elle was already walking up the stairs. Elle had a distracted look on her face. What was wrong with her? Riley didn't like to see Elle confused, or anything of the sort. Riley followed as Elle started up the stairs. "I haven't messed with anything. I promise, Elle!" Well, she had had to dust once or twice, but besides that, her room had not been touched since the last time Elle had been here. Riley hung back while Elle battled with herself. Why didn't Elle want to go in her room?

"Its nothing like that..." Elle said absently as she pushed the door open. You were a normal girl - unicorns and rainbows - and then they started the testing. Noah's voice crashed through her mind as she opened the door to her room. And she let out a huge sigh, no unicorns or rainbows. "Phew." but did that mean he was right? About her having test done on her, she remembers blood test and some scans, but nothing rigorous. Then again the Haitian could have done something to her. The only person she could ask was Noah since her father was dead.
She looked at her room it was painted blue, she had a computer next to the window where she could make her escape. So many...less...memories. Oh well she took out the chair to her computer and rolled it out. "Man it has been awhile." she was about to turn it on, but just spun around looking at Riley. "Thank you. This room is perfect!"

Riley watched as Elle entered her room. What was wrong with her? Did she expect something different? Something, bad? She frowned, she had kept the room perfect. She had always wanted to know when Elle would come home. Well, Elle was home now, wasn't she? Riley didn't know how long Elle being home would last, but she did know two things: she was here now, and Riley would be able to go to the Company soon. Soon? When was soon?
When Elle spun around to her and said thank you, Riley became confused. Thank you? For what? What had she done besides keep her sister's room dust-bunny free? Or did Elle remember something different than what her room was now? Riley wished she could help her sister. Elle really seemed to be losing it. What had the Company done? Or was it one of the patients that Elle was supposed to make sure was fine? Riley grinned, but the grin was somewhat forced.
"You're welcome, Elle." Riley said, and sat on the bed. She looked seriously at her sister, "You seemed tired earlier. I'm sure your bed would love it if you slept on it a bit."

Laying down on her bed her head on her hands Elle sighed. It was so comfy. How long was it since she had been home and slept. Leaning slowly back up she smiled at Riley, "Do you mind if I get some sleep now Riley?" she asked softly. It was true she was terribly tired and didn't want to be too rude. It was her sister after all and she had to be nice. Well sometimes.
She looked in Riley's eyes those same sparkling familiar eyes. How she loved her sister and this time when she woke up she would still be there. Not going to leave again in the middle of the night. Those thoughts make her smile.

Riley watched her sister settle in, probably for the first time in months. She watched as Elle lay down on her bed contentedly. And Riley almost laughed when Elle asked her if she could get some sleep. "Of course, sis!" Riley said, and for the first time in months, no, years, the girl walked into her sister's room without fear. Elle was back, and everything was fine. She kissed Elle on the top of the head and, like a mother, said, "now you get some sleep, Elle."
Riley was at the door when she remembered something. "I hope you won't leave this time. I'll just be in my room. I forgot I have some homework due tomorrow that I have to work on." Riley closed the door a smidgen, and frowned outside of it. 'Please don't make her leave.' She told some unseen force. 'I want to spend more time with her.' "Goodnight, and... possibly good bye." Riley whispered to her sister behind the closed door. Last time she hadn't said good bye, not to Elle or her father. Look what happened to Daddy. Riley continued into her room. She hated math.
