26th November, 2008
Niki had been informed of another teacher who was being sent to the school. She wasn't sure in what capacity they had been sent to the school for, she just got the word from Angela to say she had to set up another interview. The interviews were driving Niki nuts, but Angela had said she had to keep it professional, so Niki had reluctantly agreed to it.
However, things were getting worse for Niki, the morning sickness had really taken her over since she got the pregnancy confirmed. With Micah she had only been sick for two weeks, so she hoped that was all she would be sick for this time.
She leaned back in the seat and smiled as she saw Elliot Walters walk into the room.
"Welcome Elliot, please take a seat" Niki said as she extended her hand to greet the young man.

Elliot walked down the halls of the school and stopped in front of the doors that led to the one in charge of the school. He was going in for an interview today. He wasn’t the happiest of campers because of it though. He wasn’t angry really, but sort of annoyed. He had nothing against the school; in fact he had no feelings about it either way. But the least Ms. Petrelli could have done was give him a say in the matter. He would have agreed to come work here, eventually, is she had just asked him. Granted, at first he would have declined and then she would have had to go all super boss on him. Thinking of that was why he really didn’t make too much of a fuss when she had told him. To be honest, she was old but she scared the hell out of him when she got angry. But even though he didn’t argue about it he was still somewhat pissed. He took a deep breath and opened the door to the office with a smile emblazoned onto his face. He shut the door and on the outside knob you could see a little layer of frost.
He walked forward and shook the hand of the woman who he was meeting with today. His little outbreak was under control now so he didn’t have to worry about leaving her hand a little cold. “Thank you, Ms. Sanders,” He said politely. He had to be on his best behavior for this. She had told him that he could work as a teacher if he so wished. But he also got the implication that even if he didn’t get the teaching gig that he would still have to stay at the school and do something. Probably stuck cleaning the floors or something. If Elliot didn’t know any better he would have mistaken Angela Petrelli as pretty conniving. “I appreciate you taking the time to meet with me.” He said, sitting in a chair across from her. To be honest he would rather be working out on the field again. But one mistake with his partner and he was sent here. He just hoped it would be better than he thought. At least this would give him a reason to use his powers more often.

"You're welcome, but really it is I who should be thanking you for attending" Niki said warmly as he shook her hand and sat down opposite Niki. Just to make matters worse, the sickness had started to come over her again. However, she tried to brush it off and get on with the interview.
"Really it's fine Elliot" Niki said when he spoke of how he appreciated her taking the time to meet with him. "So, can I ask you what you feel it is you can bring to the school? What I mean is, are you here to teach any of the subjects, or are you here to help the students manipulate and use their powers?" she asked him with a smile.
Most of the teachers were doing a bit of both, normal subjects and helping with abilities. There really was only one subject left to fill however, and Niki wouldn't mind if he just wanted to help the kids with their abilities.

This was the part Elliot was absolutely positive about. “I’m here to help them with their abilities and their abilities alone.” He said with a smile. He was only twenty and the only schooling he had after high school was whatever the Company taught him. But he was pretty smart regardless. But he didn’t think that a full-blown subject was up his alley.
“I don’t really think that I could be much help as a teacher of an actual course. But when it comes to controlling and manipulating their abilities…I think that I could teach them many things.” It was true, he could. He didn’t spend twenty years doing nothing. Although he did admittedly have a few problems now and again. “Um, I was wondering,” he said afterwards. “How lenient would I have to be with the children if I were to get the job? Generally,” He looked to the side for a few seconds. “I’m not going to punish them or anything, but when it comes to putting up with them and their attitudes. How much should I put up with?” He needed to know this information if he was going to work here. He wasn’t the most likeable person and he knew that on more than one occasion a student would really get on his nerves. Was this one of those schools where he had to just suck it up?

Niki nodded her head in understanding. "That's perfectly fine Elliot" she said with a smile. "They need help with their abilities" she added. Besides most of the subjects were taken now, and the main reason for this school was to help them cope with their abilities.
She listened as he went into more of an explanation about being better at teaching abilities than a normal subject. Niki really hadn't expected him to go into such detail, however, she just nodded her head and smiled in the right places.
"Well, teaching abilities is much more what the school is about, but we had to throw in a day of normal subjects since we're pulling the students out of normal school" Niki explained, so he knew why they were having a subject day on top of teaching them the abilities. "But mostly it's about teaching the kids to control their abilities" she added with a warm smile, as her stomach then gave a lurch.
She really didn't want to do this. But she had no option. "Excuse me a moment" she said, as she quickly got up from her desk and ran to the ladies. This sickness had better stop soon, it was really wearing her down. She came back into her office about ten minutes later.
"I'm awfully sorry about that" she said, shaking her head, as she manged to gain her composure again, feeling a little better.
When he went into more explanation of how lenient he had to let the kids be, Niki knew exactly what he was aiming at. After all, nobody had to put up with awkward kids and difficult attitudes. After all Niki herself had to shout down a few of them the week before. She smiled warmly at him.
"Well, that's up to you to be honest, your own discretion. Some of the kids can be a handful at times, you aren't here to take trouble from them though, so if you feel you have to you know, stand up and be heard, then you go ahead and do it" she said, "And if that doesn't work, then come to me, and I'll give them a few words" Niki continued.
"I try not to be to harsh with them though, because sometimes it doesn't help, the best approach is to be firm but kind, if that helps in any way at all" Niki said with a smile as she tried t give more of an explanation of the best way to treat the kids with attitudes.

Elliot listened as she explained why they had normal classes when the school was mainly about helping the children with their abilities. He was a little surprised when she excused herself, but he just smiled and nodded. “Of course,” he said. When she came back and apologized he shook his head. “No, no. It’s quite alright.” Then he listened as she answered his question about the students and tolerating the more unruly ones. He nodded his head, he understood the answer but he didn't necessarily like the answer all too much. Firm but kind? Elliot wasn’t sure if he could do both at the same time. But he could at least try he supposed. It wouldn’t kill him.
All of a sudden Elliot was hit with a wave of déjà vu. He didn't realize it before but this sort of reminded him of when he first set eyes on the Company. He was around seven years old and he was being home schooled. Then one day these men just came out of no where and told him that they would be taking him to a school for children like him. Taking him to a place where he could learn to control his ability. Back then it seemed too comic bookish for it to be true: and it wasn’t. It was still kind of comic bookish now. But the difference was that now it was real. He looked to her and smiled at her for answering him. “Good to know.”

Niki shook her head when she had come back from disappearing on him the way she had. He seemed to understand and be nice about it, but she still felt rude. "I really am very sorry about that, I just found out two days ago I'm pregnant" she said, she didn't know why she was telling someone she barely knew about her private life, but she felt it might explain her running out on him the way she had. "I suffer from sickness, hopefully it will not last too long" at least now she'd given him an explanation and he now might not feel like she had been terribly rude to him.
"You're welcome, but really if you do feel they are getting completely out of hand, then obviously you have to do something to control them, I'm really just a guidance, everybody treats the kids in their class differently, of that I am sure" Niki added, hoping it might make him feel more comfortable about having to tell the kids to back down if necessary.
"I think we've covered the basics to be honest, I'm happy to have you start and you can start any time you like" Niki said with a smile. Most of the teachers or adults she had helping out the kids were around ages with Niki and older, it would be good for the kids to have someone around nearer their own age group she felt. They might actually bond with him more.

Elliot smiled when she told him why she had run out. Albeit it wasn’t a very honest smile, to tell the truth he didn't care too much. He didn't need for her to explain why she had left. Especially if it meant that she was pregnant. He had nothing against babies; but he liked babies just as much as the next guy. He just didn't care; but, he also didn't want to come off as an ass or something, so, as sincerely as possible, he said, “Congratulations on the baby. And sorry about the sickness, I do hope you get better,”
Then, when she told him that everyone treats the student differently he rolled his eyes, although not physically, just mentally. Again, best behavior while he was interviewing. He just hoped that none of the students were too sensitive. That was something he couldn’t handle.
When she told him that they were basically done and that he could start whenever he wanted h smiled a real smile. It was over. He had the job, although there wasn’t much doubt in his mind that he wouldn’t get it. “Thank you. I’ll start as soon as possible.” he told her. He stood up and held out his hand to shake hers. “I look forward to working here.” he told her, pretty darn realistically too if he did say so himself. It was a big load, but he thought that this was better than just sitting at a desk doing paperwork.

"Thank you" Niki said with a sweet smile when he congratulated her on being pregnant. "Yes, I do too, it shouldn't last too long though thankfully" she added giving him another smile.
Niki was glad the interview had come to an end however. She really hated having to do it, wishing there was a way out of having to do it.
"I'm pleased to hear it, I am sure we will enjoy having you here as much as you're looking forward to working here" Niki said warmly giving him a bright smile. She then stood up again and took his offered hand to shake it.
